"Mercedes Benz vans are ready for anything, Sarah, I'm ready for the season, but I got to tell you like this is a confessional moment for me. I always remember 2006. 2006 was the year that the Raiders would undefeated in the preseason. Right and art shell would come back is their head coach, and suddenly I I mean, I had a swagger. I went into week one with a swagger because my team was going to be better than anybody thought. They lost that game week. 1 27 and nothing. And I think I gave up on the entire season by halftime. So where is your line in the sand for Travis Key where you're just going to like decide that this season is going to be too painful. First of all, I just want to say that, like fits, you know that I love you and I love working with you and I have the utmost confidence in you. But I think you just admitted to believing that the preseason means anything, And that's a problem right about your football acumen. If you considered a winning record in the preseason as an indicator of future success, the only people that love preseason the matter of the people whose teams actually stink because the only way you watch your team win is preseason the match. Unfortunately for the Lions, they can't even enjoyed anymore because they, too had The undefeated preseason that then led to the first ever win win. So they understand that nothing No, no, wait could be placed in the preseason. Also this much I am usually pretty optimistic to a fault. Because it's more enjoyable for me to have a little bit of hope and be disappointed than to have no hope at all. I will say that whatever, two years ago when the Bears actually had a great run and Parking. I actually had not that big expectations because I was like we're going with his Mitch Travis Key guy who we saw a bit of with, you know, with the season before, but I don't have high expectations. I don't know what the defense is going to look like, you know, Matt Maggie Valley Block, And instead, I was pleasantly surprised by a really great run. So then I went into last year like we got this. We're building off last year. And it was brutal. So somewhere in the middle is where I need to sit. I can't get too excited. It's too disappointing and I also it's no fun to have a season where you just know from the start that you're going to suck. Look, I always say this. My favorite team is a little the relationship with my favorite teams. A little like a bad, you know, relationship in life like when the season ends. Never really gonna understand. Like when your relationship ends. You have a really good understanding what went right? A little while later, he got free agency and suddenly you're you're like you know what I really miss. I miss the way she did this and then all of a sudden you get to the draft. You're like we had some good times. And then you get Teo Ta is in preseason like things have got changed, And then the season starts and all of a sudden you get kicked in, the know knows again. You do realize that everything's going to be the same. That's that's my cycle every year of fandom, so This year is going to be different. We'll see. It'll be fun to have the same problem, you know? Remember how good it felt for the doings and so quickly Forget the double drinks. Oh, well, you never forget to double do. It's all right. It's the day Libertad shows two guys, she says Being I'm Jason. Vince coming up a lot of Ah lot of talk coming out of the college football world, not just from some of our best experts. Some of the biggest players in the country. The question is, Do you want to hear it? You're not going to be able to choose one way or the other. We'll tell you about it Next is that Dan Lebatard shows two Gods on ESPN radio overall. No. Why should I? National championship pedigree? We're kicking the.

Those people go on public assistance to keep the stipend. Maybe that's why these quote, unquote, nonprofit CEO's are making well into the six figures, but we wouldn't wanna tax them. I've often thought off the top of my head. You know, liberals are looking for tax loopholes the close if you're working for a nonprofit and your executive team is in the six figures, you can probably afford to pay corporate income taxes. I just thought. Thought maggie. I should say a Mike in Maggie valley north. I don't even know where Maggie valley North Carolina. Isn't I used to live in North Carolina? Mike, go ahead. My friend. Yeah. Token about. Understanding in the explain their the fun does not go away until next year. And I've got a cuddle from counting last year about summertime basically, North Carolina's down to one carrier steak and the end of thing. I getting a room fun for sixteen saving, tea and. Shen here because we were down only one carry. Apparently details. Federal government in one case that it was creating a monopoly with one only only one carry don't be fooled. Friends. Don't be fooled by something called c s are subsidies cost sharing reduction subsidies big insurance his lobbying the government to bail out the insurance industry for the reason that Mike is talking about it has become so cost prohibitive to comply with the exchange. Rules that instead of more choice on Mensur or pick your favorite exchange. You've got one insurer to insures I can't remember. There was a figure I wanna say half the country has less than one insurer or one insurer on the exchanges. But I've after double check that. But it's been a massive drop in the number and then choice, and so what's happening is big insurance as well. We'll silver lode we're going to put everybody in the silver plan. So we can MAC. Out on the government tax credits under ObamaCare, which is escalating the cost according to the GAO. It's all a dysfunctional system. And you are quite right. Don't.

"Course, we still have the winter storm warning up until two this afternoon for the mix of precipitation on the icy travel concerns, we've got across the western Carolinas and upstate now. One of the things I'm curious about I saw the forecast. In fact, I went to bed yesterday evening, thinking great. I saw these numbers, and I thought, wow, it's going to get to the place where it'll very easily start melting. And then quite a surprise this morning to find out it's snowing again, can we expect much melting today? No, I don't think we're going to see much melting at all here today. I think we're we're pretty close to where we're going to end up being for a daytime high here today, which is between thirty four and thirty six degrees. So even if the precipitation tapers off, there's just gonna be a slow melting. And then tonight everything is gonna freeze back up again as we're going to see those temperatures dropping back down into the mid twenties tonight. So. We're going to be dealing with more icy conditions again tomorrow morning, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel with this because by tomorrow afternoon. Temperatures will be approaching fifty degrees. A lot of this precipitation will quickly melt as we move through the day tomorrow, but tomorrow morning's commute could definitely be another interesting commute to say the least as we're gonna continue to deal with the melt and refreeze this precipitation across the area. What are we talking about terms of totals here of snow the past couple of days? Well, we've got the the the big winner for snowfall anywhere in the western Carolinas and Virginia was mount Mitchell. They got thirty four inches. How little Switzerland got twenty two and sugar mountain got twenty. There are a lot of eighteen inch snowfall amounts in the nanna halo gorge area, especially around Maggie valley. They got the eighteen inches of snow at Maggie valley. So the ski resorts like catalepsy are really gonna love the the. Snow that they're gonna have their because this no will more than likely ended up sticking around in the mountains through Christmas, Charlotte. Two point seven is what we've got so far here Greenville's had two point eight, but they've had a total because we had a we we started the snow on Saturday night. They had four point three in Greenville Asheville had eleven point one and just looking at some of the other totals, Roanoke. Fifteen eleven and a half at Lynchburg Raleigh had seven Greensboro with a foot. Richmond eleven and a half inches in danville over a foot. So quite a large area of twelve to twenty four inches of snow highest elevations got anywhere from twenty four up to thirty even up to thirty five while that is pretty amazing. And this first winter storm before the start of winter. I hope.

Meanwhile, let me get back to the phones that I've got David, and I've got dick and Dickson a new caller dick what's going on, man. Hello. Yeah. That's what it has on the board. Okay. Yeah. I video years ago of the shooting. Okay. And I. Right. In the head and it showed going forward. Well, actually, what part of the scholars. No it went backwards. The video a cruder film. Okay. I. It was a long time went forward. No. It went went back. Remember, Jack, Jackie Kennedy climbed on the rear of the car. A lot of people speculated was to help the secret service guy up there. But other people say that she was grabbing part of JFK's, either brains or part of the skull. Okay. Hey, Maggie valley, North Carolina. Okay. Through time. Roy was it. "Every six months it used to be around and they're bringing some of them back all of these roadside attractions that used to dot the landscape. Here in North Carolina. What was the one that they they brought back last year was a wizard of Oz place? Right jefferson. Davis petting zoo. They did not bring back. You can't bring back something that never existed in the first place. No, they had like the wizard of Oz right thing. And he's got the yellow brick road the whole deal up there, and I guess they reopened that. But it's it's not just you have to reserve, and it's on his weekends. But there's a little nostalgia factor there. So if you you may or may not remember, I guess longtime residents North Carolina will in Maggie valley. There was North Carolina's quote ghost town in the sky. The problem is the ghost town in the sky was. Well, it's I so yes. It's it is. It has a long list of incidents said during its initial run when it opened in nineteen sixty one I believe. Yeah. It opened in nineteen sixty one as replica wild west town and even included sporadic gun fights breaking out in the front of the park visitors at its height it attracted four hundred thousand visitors a year. Holy cow. The mishaps acquitted mudslides equipment failures the trap to park patrons for hours. Oh, and it's got like a it looks like it has a gondola. I just checked it out on Google maps yesterday. When I saw this story, it looks like he's got a gondola would go up there. Also there is incidents were Cowboys were wounded by real bullets during a fake gun fight. Who's making that mistake? So then they close the trying to figure out the year they closed down. So that opens sixty one. So here's the deal. It's got new owners, and they say they're going to renovate innovate and bring it back. So I don't know if it's going to be straight up Westworld was sex spots and stuff if it's going to be like, you know, more modernized weaving stay in there's not a Westworld robot. Won't you be disappointed? Eighteen man. I don't know that that's something. They're talking about here. I think it's going to be actual people for actors rather than super advanced robots that don't exist yet that are cursed. Sure. Whatever-ever these curse the whole thing is curse. But they're they're bringing it back in new what else was there? I mean, I just I. Pretty intricate stuff that they had, you know, probably a lot of people lived in North Carolina longtime. There's you probably went there with your parents. You know? Or maybe you even you took your kids there at one time, and he had all these places where where do you get to go? Now tweets. You know, my feelings there. I'm sure you'll love it. But anything and when I see parents dashing their kids across three twenty one. I'm just like, are you kidding me? No, thank you. Plus, they go you got the roadsides Ringo panning for, you know, basically loaded or. These are these things were pretty crazy in in how intricate they were way back in the day. White people stop going to things like that. Because curse. I I met in general I'm talking at large, dude. You're hung up on the curse thing. I see this. I get that. I. Would that would be a draw for me? I don't know. You like, hey, you want to go over to the, and then insur, whatever the attraction is. And I'm like God. I don't know. And then somebody followed up with oh in it's cursed. I'm like, what time are we leaving? So I'm all Dow with this. I just thought there'd be a. Now, for whatever reason cursor, otherwise they closed does that mean people are going to get back into those those those attractions. And who knows maybe I think that'd be a fun thing to do for what's an attraction, you always drag Lincoln to with the Pete with the evil peacocks. Oh, that's like the outdoor zoo the conservatory. Okay. That's awesome. We love doing that except for the evil Pika because you park in. It's like a free range thing and these peacocks just walking around the parking lot. And they see themselves in your car's reflection. And then the attack the the supposed- other peacock, which is your car, and he scrapes you Carl up. Time. It's a great time. I thought you were going to steal all the peacocks. Then we're going to go into the picot show, emotional talk distribution business. Okay. Fire officials in Fresno, California, say a man who was house sitting for his parents. Because obviously they make good decisions set the home on fire when he used a blue a blow torch to attempt to kill black widows. You ever feel like having the same conversation over and over? This is something that happens with young kids, usually, right? There's a there's a ridiculous conversation where you have to talk to him about not doing something that frankly, you before you were a pair. You had no idea that was something that kids would do and yet. Keeps reoccurring. Works. In the sense that you got this. We don't know for sure that he got the spiders we know that he had to make a quick exit out of the house as the second floor and attic became engulfed. Can you imagine? If he didn't get the spider. So his wife never let up on that. Right. This is his parents house. Whoops. Yes. Yeah. Firefighters say no one was injured in the fire. The in the man who initially called them was able to make it out safely. The incident happened Tuesday night twenty nine firefighters had responded the fire, but we're able to. Go ahead and. Make sure everyone was safe there. All right. It is eight forty three. Let's get the Ray Stagich if he's ready to rock and roll. Mix. So don't kill spy once a month. I do the story don't kill spiders with a blow torch, or what was the other one with the be didn't they there was a beehive or seven garage. Yup. I think that's it. How does is it to you? When you when you're on patrol to maybe light him on fire inside your home. No, maybe outside like if I'm like out like on the concrete deck somewhere like Mira water source just kind of like playing around right? Have you ever seen? So you ever seen them cast, a an ant colony? I have not. Oh, you're fall down a YouTube whole at work today. Yes. I do actually. Right. So what this guy does is. He gets he has a kiln essentially, and there's a big fire ant colony and they wanna get rid of it. And there's different ways you could do that his method is to heat aluminum. Pour it down into the colony. You know, the mortality rate is one hundred percent. Yes. Okay. And then as it cools you hose it off and you literally have the single a Christmas tree in. It's an outline of the whole colony. I have seen that. Yeah. And the guy sells them and makes Bank on it. So he goes, no. He's always going over killing fire ant colonies. Somebody will be after him for that. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. No, the comments or the Bill. Yeah. Oh, but he's amazing though because of the the ants strength, you think they could fight that off kids because isn't a ridiculous amount compared to their size and weight they can actually lift like you see him lifting those little crumbs, and it's like ten thousand times their bodyweight or something. It's molten metal at the time. It hit us them..
