"I think it's encouraging when Vic Fangio comes out and says that a J boy and Rice Callahan are going to go. I think Bryce Callahan not going on Sunday surprise some of us. I joked in the pre game and I know you guys heard it, and it was Tongue in cheek to some degree that rise looked over Julio Jones, and that inflamed his ankle. I look, his ankles obviously bothered him Rice Mr whole season last year. He's not tryingto Skip a game, but it put the Broncos in a bind. And we saw that. Devante Harris and the two youngsters just weren't much of a match for that Falcons off and certainly in the first half. So getting those guys back is a good thing. Glascow for sure will be back. I know he was feeling well, ah, late last week, but because of the timing of when he went on the coded list, the 10th Day was Sunday. Luckily that also allowed him to Activate his three day returned training window that I wasn't even aware of because he only the Broncos player at this point that it has a positive was Andrew Beck, and it's hard to track what guys were doing day to day in preseason training camp, So by the time he was back, we weren't counting how many days until he was ready to go, Although Now that I think about it, I remember seeing him on the other field. Um and I remember one player even telling me that he was back in the building, and it made them nervous, not understanding that had already been testing negative and that he was just trying to work his way back. So Alaska's third day was today so he can have the practice field tomorrow, and everything will be back to normal shall be Harris. The expectation is he's going to be back, but I haven't gotten confirmation yet, And I know there's some uncertainty with all of it because you know, he let the team know last Tuesday about his close contact and then went and stayed in a hotel in isolation away from his pregnant wife and everyone else but because the team didn't get him on the Coburg list on Tuesday The five day window started Wednesday, so I think based on what we saw matched average, Probably good example. Right. And we'll see what big Ben this week assuming nothing else happens. We should we should see shall be back tomorrow. He may have been back today. They didn't have the meetings in the building. We know that because of you watched The zooms on any of their streams or saw the video. They were back in the building, so they're getting healthier. But the Alberto loss it's like last week was the first week it feels like in a while that we haven't had a season ending injury are a really bad one. I mean, 17 guys and I are. It's pretty nuts, beginning shall be back will be big against Josh Jacobs and this rushing attack of the Raiders Broncos getting some corner help back whether or not Bouvier or Callahan is gonna be there to save Oz be claimed off waivers today. You know, I don't know. That's the largest news in the world, but it's certainly moves social media in the Denver area. It would be nice to have someone with experience in the scheme back if either one was two guys aren't able to go of that. We look at it. Any other roster moves here. I know Alberto to the I R. Freed that spot up Well, yeah, I think Bobby makes the most sense. The move that we'll see what way Macy John happy a sooner than later as he's gonna be added to the practice squad if the paperwork has already been signed. Um, but I think we'll definitely see Troy for Magali elevated the next two weeks. Ah, when Andrew Beck returns next week, I think you'll still see for Magali. Maybe not the following week. Jake but is on track and maybe even ahead of schedule to be back for the Saints game. But you'll see back against the Dolphins. So I think you see joyful Magali fresh off the street. Now you want on street very long was cut by the Texans. October 27th. The Broncos brought him in last week, so he was probably on the street for a few days. He went through Kobe protocols, so we will see a familiar face Their withdrawal from God. I don't anticipate any other moves at this point, and it's my understanding that I finally heard back that I think we'll see Shelby years later in the week, but maybe not tomorrow. Brannen. One of the things that I was struck with, and I'd love to get your take on this during the press conference is today with Dalton Risner, Josie Jul and De Shaun Williams is seemed like all three guys were borderline sort of sick of any other conversation other than what we need to do to win. I mean, Josie Jule, I don't know if you ask, but somebody was asking him about getting the you know the tackles and there was leading the team tackles and all those things. Andi kind I was like, Yeah, but I mean, whatever we're losing, we need. We need to find a way to win. I don't care if I have one tackler 10 with to find a way to win. It could be as simple as the team is for a sick of having the same conversations about what went wrong and how they didn't quite pull through. And maybe is there something to a motivating factor there? Well, it certainly seems like it whether that's a message coming down from big Fangio and I'm not saying that it's not or these guys are looking in the mirror. You got a big group of young guys and we've talked about their leadership. Dynamics here in recent years, and then when Your vets like von Miller and Darryl Casey, two of your most vocal on me. Nobody is going to be more vocal and obvious..

"This is all things considered on W N Y C. I'm David first. The Latino population on Long Island has been steadily growing for years in I slip in Suffolk County Latinos account for more than 30% of the town's 300,000 residents. Yet no Latino has ever been elected to the town board. Now Latino voters are suing, claiming they've been systematically disenfranchised. The trial got underway today in federal court. Ultimately, the judge will have to decide whether I slip selection system. Violates the Federal Voting Rights Act sees Beth Fertig reports. Six years ago, Magali Roman noticed something unusual. At Roberto Clemente Park in Brentwood. She saw construction debris accumulating on the grassy fields right where people were using the park. Now you see A woman with her child. Kids play soccer here. It turned out almost 40,000 tons of debris were illegally dumped in the park materials containing a specious pesticides and other hazardous chemicals. Five people were convicted of illegal dumping, including two former parks Department employees. But Maria Magdalena Hernandez, an immigrant from El Salvador, says it took months for elected officials to even notice the problem. Quando condo A stolen parquet young if we move moocher business, she says, residents complained, but it felt like no one was listening to the municipal. In No. No cattle. No no job. Even after the town closed the park. The cleanup took three years. Brentwood is predominantly Latino. It's part of the town of ice slip a group of villages and Hamlets in Suffolk County with more than 300,000 people. It's the third largest town in New York state. But even though Latinos make up a third of its population, there's never been a Latino elected to the town board. Roman says she and her neighbors feel like second class citizens without a representative sitting on the town board. There's no way for them to understand what we're feeling what we're thinking and how we're working together. For the different issues that are coming up in our community. Hernandez and Roman are now among four individual plaintiffs from Brentwood, who, together with two community groups are claiming that ice lips voting system leaves thumb disenfranchised. Here's why The town's four board members are elected at large by everyone from Bay Shore to Bayport Attorney Frederick Brewing tonight says that when the votes of predominantly Latino areas like Brentwood and Central I slipper counted That's like adding a spoonful of coffee to a cup of cream. The coffee would use its identity, it would lose its strength. It would lose its favor and as a result of that, it's diluted. Well, That's what was happening to the vote. So no matter how much The Latino community would vote together to try and elect someone their ability to do so was diluted in the larger white population Vote brewing tonight says this violates Section two of the Federal Voting Rights Act. Because Latinos form a majority in one geographic area. They also vote in a way that's politically cohesive, but their preferred candidates are always defeated by ice lips. White majority As a result, he says, it's not surprising that the dumping occurred or that Brentwood residents claim police ignored their concerns about crime long before M s 13 gang killings made national news, So the reality of the failure Toa have anybody elected from the community has been a total lack of responsiveness. Brewington won a similar groundbreaking lawsuit more than 20 years ago involving black voters in nearby Hempstead. That town was required to create geographic district's. Instead of having everyone vote for the same candidate's Hempstead appealed the case in federal court and lost The U. S. Supreme Court, then declined to review the case. Letting the district's stand now brewing tonight is seeking a similar result in I slip the town of I slipped, denies the allegations and declined to comment on the suit. To win a voting rights case. There has to be proof of discrimination. Steve Flattery in a Republican who sat on the town board for more than a decade, says that didnt happen here. He claims investments were made to playgrounds and roads and Latino communities. He also argues Latinos aren't getting elected because they vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. And I slip is mostly Republican who is the one steering a lot of the argument. It's basically from a political party trying to change boundary lines because they cannot win. It's not because it's like an orange and they're using the race card to try to share in the area. Some guy slip voters see nothing wrong with their election system near the town hall on Main Street. One woman who didn't want to give her name, said that if Latino candidates aren't winning Maybe it's because their voters aren't coming out. Or, she says, Maybe their message is too narrow. And if their candidate actually can appeal to non minorities and show that he is not just about one race over another There should not be approached. I wouldn't have a problem Voting for somebody. On this one street and I slip, you'll find upscale shops.

Lawmaker Magali Lopez spearheaded the band with a bill she got through the Oaxaca state Congress. It's awaiting the governor's signature, she says. "Of a man like your father. I'm wondering how you were planning on continuing that legacy of fighting. For the Haitian community in the United States. My father was an activist. He was an entrepreneur. He's been a mentor to many people. And late in his life. He was chairman of A nonprofit organization that funded talented young, indigent Haitian people to go to college. The most fitting way that I can continue to honor. His legacy is to push that mission forward and grow it so that Haiti is a country that's led by an educated class of its own people. That's Carl. Fees Emmy in Miami. His father, Bernard, is, um, recently died from covert 19. Thank you very much. Thank you. You're listening to weekend edition from NPR news. The pandemic is changing how we do a lot of things, including how we get around biking and walking are enjoying a huge upsurge. But even with that road traffic is getting worse as a lot of people continue to shun public transit and Dr instead, NPR's David Shaper has this report from Chicago. The thought of packing herself onto a crowded bus or train makes Magali Olson cringe. I'm afraid to really take the train. Yet she's been riding Chicago's blue line trains two days a week to her job at an insurance company downtown. Although I had, like, you know Clark's wipes too plain everything before I sat or touch anything. Still a little scared. You know, some people weren't wearing masks. The Chicago Transit Authority mandates masks and is thoroughly cleaning trains and buses. But Olson has had enough and she takes me into her garage to show off her new wheels. So this is the new member of the family. It's an electric scooter. It doesn't go more than 30 miles per hour. So I can just take it down in college with a scooter's air, just one of the modes that are becoming increasingly popular. Another of the two wheeled variety is the good old bicycle. The phones are almost constantly ringing here. A cozy cyclery. But anyone looking to buy a bike is likely out of luck. Because this huge shop with three levels of retail space is almost empty. Everything in 2020 model in a bike has Basically left the building manager shirt on. We're says they've been sold out of everything but the most expensive road and electric bikes and the smallest.

"Okay, I've got Jake. But coming up at four o'clock today, And if there is one room that seems to be pretty crowded with a lot of good talent, that would be the tight end room. Yeah, absolutely. Although we found out today that it's a little less crowded for a couple weeks, Austin Fort who had a great Training camp last year and likely had a good shot at making the team tore his knee at the end at the end of training camp in and was on I r all year, the undrafted tight end from Wyoming. Looking good again. From what? We we've heard to this point, but he had to have his knee scoped. So he's out for a couple of weeks after that arthroscopic surgery, Jake but did have a nice catch today. Ah, early in practice, and he's a guy that I've been high on since the draft. I remember sitting there on draft night at the end of Around one saying if Jake Butts there towards the end around three, which is when the Broncos had a couple compensation picks at the end of the 2017 3rd round, so go take a shot on Jake. But had he not torn his knee in that bowl game with Michigan. He would have been the number one or certainly second tight end after O. J. Howard that year. And the Broncos were able to get in the fifth, so I thought it was going to be a steal and his. He's just have continued to fail him. But the hope and he's told me that he feels better. Now that he has in since he can remember and feel stronger. And so maybe this is the year that he forces away not only in the room but on the field and maybe when they're when they're in too tight and obvious past situations. He's the guy opposite of Noah fan ahead of Alberto and ahead of Nick Manette, who's I think primarily, Ah, blocker, But that room is crowded because you got to throw Andrew back in their trifle. Magali had a nice catch today. And like I mentioned Austin Force, let's seven guys for probably four roster spots. What maybe helps Jake. But although I do hope he does make the team maybe help flew Magali or Fort is not only can they carry 10 practice squad players like they normally would, and all those guys still have eligibility, including, but because he just hasn't dressed in enough games in his 1st 3 years. Is that they have six more roster spots for guys that are any age regardless of of experience. So Damar Dotson, who obviously is a different deal financially, let's say tomorrow. Dotson doesn't make the 53 if the Broncos wanted once he cleared waivers, and I don't even know how that works with the veteran bones he's got The opportunity. They could put him on that six man basically taxi squad because the Broncos Khun bring guys up all 32 teams can 90 minutes before kickoff like you would turn in your inactives if all of a sudden Let's say one of the tackles. You know, Starter or backup went down and you had a Damar Dotson on your taxi squad. You could activate him that day right before the games, so, but back to your thing about the tight ends with Jake coming up, I think he's got a really good chance to make it if not expect that. Some combination of those young guys will be on the practice squad, probably both or two of them because of how talented they are. Well and and Jake, But I mean, do you think that this is a Ah chance for him to truly make the team or do you think that this is Him taking an opportunity here to show that he's healthy that he can play and maybe it gives him the opportunity with another team. Well, this is his final year on his rookie deal, So I think that he has a legit shot toe only make the team but get on the field because we know how Burroughs really fast. But he's a rookie tight end and no offence who's also really fast played plenty of a rookie tight end but look like a rookie tight and even talked about that today about overcoming adversity dealing with drops. You'll want a big fumble against the Packers. That's going to happen. So there's no guarantee you know. Alberto Andrew Lock looked really good at Missouri in and Alberto had 17 touchdown catches in 18 games. He and locker on the field together. He's not going to step in there against the Titans and line up is the number two tight end opposite of no fan? At least I wouldn't bet on it. And so I think that Jake but has a really good chance to get on the field and maybe make some plays. The talent has been there. That hasn't been the issues the issues issues have been his knees right. He's turn both of them multiple times, or at least one of them multiple times. And so hopefully he's past that and hopefully He makes it really hard, not only for the Broncos think about cutting them but to figure out their tight end rotation, just like they're having challenges, figuring out some of the other positions, And in fact one, Teo, just going to drive you there instead of letting you asked a question, Isaac got, um, just in case you didn't see this. He worked as the number one. Corner. The number three corner, I guess out of the box after a J boy and after Bryce Callahan, Bryce jumped inside, but the first corner up, I guess you know the number three corner today was I got him. Well, let's talk about Bryce Callahan. Because I mean, realistically, this was only his second full practice. Ah, and he has spent a lot of time trying to get figured out What is going on with that foot and Ah, you mean you talked about it last year, you predicted. I mean, they kept saying there was a possibility. There is a possibility and you were saying there's no possibility. Yeah, even from I think that was before the Raiders game, right? I texted you guys that was on with you that afternoon on the show, saying it doesn't look good. And then after talking to people at the game a week later, they were tryingto push it off. I think the Bears came to town and And he didn't have surgery, tried all these non surgical options, and they finally had surgery in the off season. I don't know if you have bad advice or just thought he could power through it, But they paid him seven million bucks last year to not play. So, essentially, he's a $14 million corner this year..
