"That's Chris See if it's lightly slightly slightly less effective as it is against the delta variant because Moderna's Chain Moderna scored better on these shows Moderna Don't solve us with your dancing Okay Chris just said I'm not a Madonna game I hurt Travis then you're not a gang Her antics lately have just driven me What antics am I missed antics She does have an answer She has antics She's trying to be romantic since I did the morning show on hot 97 That's why I recorded this burp I didn't do it in person but someone I worked with did Hi I'm Madonna That was in the hallway I was in the hallway of about 97 She used to show up with her CDs before she was anybody to get us to play them And that got me a tent my attention because hi I'm Madonna I love a good burp I know I like her antics I don't care what you say Now she's in a fight with Instagram because they deleted a photo of hers because she showed a nipple I'm also a fan of nipple a nipple and burping Your team Madonna that fight I'm so team Madonna on all of them Go burp own nipple Okay so yeah we're trying to yes I don't know which doctor was so we may know in less than two weeks But yeah it's disturbing particularly me traveling yesterday was like Saturday You know I'm like oh my God Yes Fauci said you would predict looking at the mutations we've identified that it likely will be more transmissible We don't know that yet We have but we have to be careful and assume that's the case It also has a bunch of mutations that suggest it could evade the protection for example monoclonal antibodies Here's the other thing that I've been saying on and on right why you should get vaccinated is trusting that you're gonna get the monochrome anus that they're gonna work that they're gonna work in time There wouldn't be almost 800,000 people dead If anything right now with sure fire Why do you want to risk it Why do you want to play Russian roulette with your life Everything you can do paper and plastic Doesn't bag it You want all the protection you can get Right Exactly So the travel ban's going to affect pardon me today British prime minister Boris Johnson said it does appear that omicron spreads very rapidly and can be spread between people who are double vaccinated So that's why it's kind of terrifying Okay Here's some good news Merrick Garland is vowing to prioritize prosecution of violent incidents from passengers on U.S. flights Airlines and their unions have pressed the U.S. government to push more aggressively for criminal prosecution Airlines have reported 5000s of these incidents and almost 4000 of them are COVID related which is why I keep saying particularly with this new variant you have got to mandate vaccines for flying You'll get rid of a lot of the math polls until idiots On flights and it's just common sense We retired vaccines to come into the country I don't understand why we can't do that within the country Yeah I was telling you you can't believe how shocked the flight attendants and pilots were when I just thanked them I got on the flight I'm like does no one do this I just thank them for everything they do and I said I'm so sorry people are being jerks to you when they just were white Oh my God thank you Well you were hugging on to them like a koala And so I did not touch them Ma'am take your seat They said oh we really appreciate people like you 'cause no one does it No one's just takes a second to go away you know I'm sorry all the you're putting up with to try to keep people safe Yeah Okay All right Robert and flu That's what we need a little good old fashioned rubber Oops All right you need to help mommy This is not working Hi how you doing How you doing What was your Thanksgiving Like oh got my goal a little going what you got Anyways it was good And I listened to this I saw your picture on the Facebook there You and your mother And I was thinking this Your audience you're probably going to live your audience You know if your mother's longevity is 98 there's no one in life today is going to hear the end of you That's why it's good That's why it's good that I have that my fan base is generally stays at around Was it four or 5 I don't touch any of them sunshine walking on sunshine girl Oh Charlie wrangel impersonator This is why Yeah hang on Ladies and gentlemen Yeah she's the only one that's still gonna be alive My mom's almost a hundred So yeah Go ahead I thought my mom Thanksgiving We did something out of the box Gary Mary says we're all getting into playing world one in New York Your mother my mother She says her parents are vanity Her dream is always to see the Thanksgiving Day parade right They see my sisters we made it happen right And let me tell you something You go on the parade route anything like you see on TV because basically you would think the thing is running through the branch but the few people talk about the paradox kind of fun I mean you know they were born marching bands they're telling me you have all your depression That's New York Beautiful Anyways I called I called for Joel I mean we talked that Joel don't have an amplifier You don't have a bag that you know to say his what he wants to say But he does he's the president of the United States And what he needs to do is at around 5 o'clock before all the national news feeds get going on their programming He needs to put together a minute two minute little sound bite and say this is what I did today for you people You know and let that play Isn't that everyday driving home And then everyone on who's a Democrat or a fan of democratic and share it on Facebook or Twitter By the way I get kicked off Twitter I'm like Trump I got booted up there What'd you do now Did you did you remember to drop the gun and pick up the cannolis before you left Twitter I didn't know you couldn't threaten people Also well All right goodbye It's a story Now you've been kicked off with 71 show and Twitter at the same time I can't Okay now it works All right By the way you know besides being horrible horrible people and grifters Is Trump's name Are they not only just weird Did you see the Trump winery thing that Larry Trump did First of all this is Eric Okay so she married Eric Yeah By choice But anyway she's ignoring her screaming toddler while she's drinking wine And just like with her all I'm dead inside eyes Anatom too Right and she just tweeted complete relaxation and it's heard just looking at camera drinking while the baby's just sleep obviously And obvious distress screaming and crying next to her And pundits said man the new David Lynch movie looks disturbing Nailed it Nailed it Weird On top of Okay They're sociopaths They have no compassion at all for any other human beings Yes Themselves Yes Every single one of them It's like could be the country Trump's just Trump's just like whatever Thank you Oh Marjorie Taylor Greene really Like the mayor his to hear from the mayor of crazy town this morning Okay Give everybody an update on the expectations that you have laid out for leader McCarthy and how he's reacted to that Well thank you Matt You've done such a good job pointing out the things the failures that we've seen in leadership Number one everyone saw me get stripped of committees as a brand new member of Congress robbing my district of the ability to have representation Newt Gingrich: 'Trump Was the Most Effective Anti-Liberal I've Ever Seen'

"We're back one on one. This is America first with me Sebastian gorka and Newt Gingrich. Speak again, which let's talk about my former boss the 45th president United States. To you, what did his victory in 2016 mean? I find it amusing that as an immigrant to this nation, I have to remind my fellow Americans that it was the first time in our republic's history that we elected a non politician or a non retired military officer to the highest post in the land. How much for you did he change American politics inexorably? Well, I think if you look at Glenn young Ken's victory, you see an example of it. I mean, young gun campaigned on lowering taxes, less regulation, more jobs. He campaigned on taking on the culture war. Things that I think certainly on the culture war front the traditional Republicans would never have touched. Trump, I think I thought it was an extraordinarily important victory because I always tell people it's not that Trump is a great conservative. I don't think he sat around reading Bill Buckley and trying to understand theoretical conservatism. But Trump was the most effective anti liberal. I've ever seen. He just applied common sense. And did any act that he did things all day every day, and he was steadily methodically taking apart the left's world, which is why they hated him. And why they rigged the election and spent so much time for some literally from before his election. I mean, the first article in The Washington Post on impeachment is like April of 2016. And the day that he is being inaugurated, there's an article in the post on impeachment. And the day after his inauguration, there is a huge crowd and Madonna talks about how she envisions The White House getting blown up as a positive experience. And it was an unending four year war in part because Trump is a genuine threat. He's the first time I think since Andrew Jackson that you had a genuine threat to the

Her face has gotten wider. Which means bow talks. That's common though to be honest with you. I think madonna does not wanna age. She wants to stay young forever. She's young at heart she's young. It's hard she listens to her daughter in what her daughter says to her death. Lola and her kids to and she doesn't take crop from anybody. She's very clever. She knows what she's doing. "People will say the media only cares about click bait getting traffic to their websites and making money. Now that might be true if they're writing about donald trump that might be true if they're writing about conservatives but that is not the primary motive for the regime media for the people that run apple news for the people that run washington the washington post. Run the new york times for the people that run. Cnn what is the incentive structure for the people that control the major places of distribution. It's not profit. You see the propagandists in the media are not driven by profit motive. They are driven by a power motive. They want to get keep the current ruling class. They do not want to do muckraker. Journalism like either be wells. They do not want to reveal the corruption or inequity to use their own word. FDA Committee to Vote on COVID Booster Shot

"Data shows cova cases arising in fully vaccinated. Americans we call those breakthrough cases. That is why you're seeing more breakthrough infections. Now are telling me that. Breakthrough cases aren't unexpected because like with any vaccine. It's not a hundred percent effective at preventing a person from getting sick but scientists are worried. Is that one day vaccine. Efficacy is going to drop even lower and even though our vaccines are currently working well to prevent hospitalizations we are seeing concerning evidence of waning vaccine effectiveness over time and against the delta vary. So what we're seeing is a very time dependent slope where the longer ago you were vaccinated. The less effective. Your vaccine is right which leads us to today right. So the fda having this big hearing what is the purpose of it like what does the question that these folks are going to be here to answer so today. There's going to be an fda hearing it's actually the fda's independent advisory committee is. Is this vaccine not doing what it's supposed to do. This is an independent group and they basically give advice to the fda about what the fda potentially should do so if the companies were the fda can make a case that there has been an erosion protection against severe critical disease and the data erosion and protect against disease would be mediated or eliminated by a third dose them. We could move forward but today we really need to see those data to be able to make that decision on after afghan can either take or not. Take that advice now. The question that's being put in front of that advisory committee today is whether or not we should approve. A booster shot for the pfizer vaccine. It's just pfizer. Were not talking about. That's been dividing the fda already this week members have publicly shown support and opposition for making extra doses available to the general population. In the united states. Both visor and madonna have put out research. That found three shots. Do give people a lot more protection than to and some studies have found the longer. It's been since someone was. I vaccinated the more likely they are to get infected with cove in nineteen but other studies have been less conclusive and some top. Fda scientists say the vaccines effectiveness has not worn off enough to really warrant more shots so today more scientific advisors will review a lot of this data and talk about who needs booster shots and when if at all so far boosters have only been authorized for people with compromised immune systems if they do recommend the extra shots to everyone though that would put them on track to start rolling out as soon as next week

"I could really authentified with clive when he said he went to. Aa and he saw everyone chain-smoking on talking about their bottoms and he just didn't feel that you fit it in. He just didn't feel like an alcoholic because he wasn't drinking in the morning he wasn't crushing calls. Losing jobs and families etcetera. The thing is we don't have to wait until we hit rock bottom before we make you change if we worry about out drinking if it's on our mind or even if we drink more than the low risk limits than we should make some changes at the very least take a break just to test your dependency like most of us live tried moderation and we agreed the drinking neuro. Pathway will always be some once. You've crossed the line with your drinking. Moderation is no longer an option. The best thing to do is accept that you can't moderate and then concentrate on creating an alcohol-free life that you love clive torch about being triggered by a sunny day and the full shift drinking rosa. He's got a very sensible approach to triggers though he just recognizes them get super curious about them and let some pulse without acting on a nice analogy is to think of them like a cloud in the sky over a trigger. Let me watch paul. Another way of dealing with those triggers is to create another ritual. Replace it for example. If clive started enjoying it loss of all free bubbly every time he started drinking in the sun shined then his subconscious would gradually create a new unless hopeful trigger climbs. Madonna story is one of my favorites. I think it's the way he tells it. But it's a classic example. Isn't it of how we expect alcohol to and halts our experiences in clive's case he ended almost blacking out missing most of the concert that he'd been looking forward to for months. He's made the joyful discovery. That clive doesn't need alcohol to be life. He can still be the life and soul of the party went stone cold sober and eleven months into his surprise. Clive fills that. He's regained control of his life and reduced his anxiety. He feels strong and his proud to bail coal free. Clive ended our by reading his goodbye to alcohol lexa. He found that writing. This letter was a powerful and cathartic experience. He's luxuries very moving. The analysis is this is a step that could lead to more vaccine. Mandates approval for pfizer's to dose vaccine was originally scheduled for labor day but was moved up due to a spike in cases. According to the new york times. So i'll watch a few weeks. We've got a spike. Let's do it now and would lead one to wonder. Why did you do it. Six months ago. Will Booster Shots Make a Difference?

"On wednesday. The president's top covert advisors cited a few early studies to make the case for boosters from new york from nursing homes from the mayo clinic. Plus there was some data from israel. I see two things. I i see a few canaries in the coal mine. I do see that. The is Specially from based on the us data. There is a diminishing of effectiveness against mild moderate disease. Here's michelle will get. The director of the centers for disease control and prevention on wednesday talking about a mayoclinic analysis of more than eighty thousand vaccinated and unvaccinated. People like we saw in the new york. Dana vaccine effectiveness against infection declined over time. In this case from seventy six percent to forty two percents for those who receive the pfizer vaccine and from eighty six percent to seventy six percents for those who receive. The madonna vaccine are also see that things seem to be holding up against severe disease including hospitalization. More or less which seems great but seems quick which is good. The other thing i see is whenever things are that nuanced. I want to see the whole ishii be process unfold. Who needs the advisory committee on immunization practices. It's a group of fifteen outside advisers. Doctors nurses public health specialists. Who make recommendations to the cdc on vaccines on cova. Yes but on other things too and the committee has a standard deliberative process. That anyone you were me can log on and watch the encouraging thing and something that got lost in a lot of coverage was that the actual verdon of things that came out yesterday was that they are doing this for planning purposes to start with september twentieth bending authorization from fda and bending the advisory committee on immunization practices review. So i as a scientist. I had weighed for the review because things are that nuanced.

"Why do you think people are so fixated on her age. I think people want women of a certain age to like sort of sitting there rocking chair and shut up It's super ages and ridiculous. If she can still make music and people will still buy it like let her make music and frankly. I don't even think that people buying it needs to be A at criterion for whether or not. She makes music if she wants to do it. She gets to do it. I think it makes people uncomfortable. Because they don't have enough imagination to imagine thriving at her age and quite frankly she's not old right. Yeah so. I mean it seems like part of the pushback against madonna is that she basically refuses to accept the idea that women should disappear from public life as they get older. Do you think there's any famous women who have aged in the public eye without any pushback. No why do you think madonna's the artist who's captured this much attention for simply getting older because she continues to do the same things now that she did thirty forty years ago. So there's also this idea that women need to age gracefully. What do you think people even mean by that. They mean women need eight quietly. Accept that you're out to pasture don. Don't want too much for yourself. It's feels like it's just another way for people to police women's lives. Yeah how does madonna break the mold by refusing to be graceful. She doesn't need to be graceful because she has money comes down to that really. Does she gets her own rules because she has. Well listen. i've seen how. She has organized her life. Madonna doesn't have to do a goddamn thing she doesn't want to do. It's impressive so then. Is there anything you think is really fascinating about madonna. That we haven't asked you about yet. I think her energies impressive. Like i'm forty six. And i i'm like i'm good to go. I'm ready to sign. I'm still i'm like avi. I'm working more than i ever have. I and i would say like. I'm sort of stepping into the. I think what will be the best years of my life. But like i have no interest to do now the things i was doing when my twenties and more power to her yes hearing more power to her as someone who tours constantly at least i'm just a writer like i do my little event i do the signing line and go back to my hotel but she liked goes on stage and dances for two hours and then goes to another city. The next night. I respect it and i wish more people would just sort of respect the sheer energy..

"Megan thee stallion And i'm thinking of course about their provocative performance of the grammys this year which i loved A lot of people had a lot of thoughts on it. How does race complicate the way we talk about. Women being sexual in public. Do you think madonna door for them to do what they do. I think madonna opened the door for white woman to do it. And i think that when if black women do it you know. It's a whole different story. If madonna had made song w a wop The conversation around that would have been entirely different. And ben chewier would not have sort of lost his goddamn mind you know like the rules are just different and black. Women are always punished for sexuality. Yeah so then. Do you think that in this example. Who's opening the door or cardi. B and megan of opening the door themselves. I think they're opening the door themselves. Other people have opened the door but black women tend to have to reopen the over and over again whereas white women like lady gaga. Got to walk through the door that madonna and but cardi b. and make. The stallion had to reopen the door. That nicki menaj opened and open right Okay so just to switch gears again. Madonna portrayed ever perron vida. She directed a film about the life of wallace. Simpson the duchess of windsor. And she's famously a huge fan of frida kahlo. What do you think draws to such complicated women. I think she knows a good story when she sees it and i think that she sees herself as a complicated woman i think she sees her something of herself in these women and so i think she's just sort of searching for vehicles where she can express that side of herself. We get support from parade. Parade makes the most incredibly comfortable creative basics in a variety of sizes from extra small to three x l. And listen. I'm dead serious when i say that this stuff is so comfortable. I wanna throw this company a parade. See there and i feel the same way. They've got boy shorts a super comfortable. Thong parade underwear starts at eight dollars and recently they launched their first ever brawl. It's yeah i gotta say when you say that they're comfortable. It's so true. You know how much i don't like wearing clothes. I'm actually wearing a pair of parades underwear right now tells you how comfortable they have to be for me to be wearing them at home when i don't really need to be closed other than on this. That is shot a glowing. It really is. I also really love. How many colors. There are parades basics coming over thirty expressive colors which means there are endless. Mix and match opportunities. "You know. People who reached that level of fame actually are highly curated and they have gotten very good at boundaries and preserving them. You're only ever going to know what they want you to know. And certainly of course there are really talented interviewers who can crack through through the facade and i felt like we had a great conversation but i also felt like she was only going to say what she was going to say no matter how i approached it or tried to sort of. Go past the facade right. I'm curious how you ended up. Landing the interview of madonna for harper's bazaar that seems like a pretty cool get It's a weird story. So the artist marilyn minter is a friend of madonna's and she mentioned my book bad feminist to madonna and that I should have covered that. She should have a conversation with me. And then i believe. Madonna read bad feminist and then requested me for fi interview. That's really cool. That is so roxana. A lot of people consider you one of the most influential feminists of your generation. Do you consider madonna a feminist. And why or why not you know. I don't think it's up to me to define who is and who isn't feminist. Think that except if you're a pro-life sorry you're not a feminist your parade. I think that she has done many feminist things Over the years. And i think that she has been a beacon for women who want to be a little radical and who want to be provocative in our last episode. We included some clips from madonna's billboard woman of the year speech in twenty sixteen. I'm just gonna share one of those clips again here. I remember wishing that. I had a female here that i could look to support camille paglia. The famous feminist writer. Said that i set women back by objectify myself sexually. Oh i thought so. If you're a feminist you don't have sexuality you deny it. So i said i'm a different kind of feminist. I'm a bad feminist. As the woman who popularized the term. Can you explain the concept of a bad feminist. What does it mean. It means a lot of different things to different people. But when i coined the phrase it was partly tongue-in-cheek and partly not you know i think that mainstream feminism certainly has a reputation and it gives the impression that you have to behave in very specific ways to be considered a good feminist. And so i found that that definition didn't leave a lot of space for people like me who may have had some inconsistent ideologies but we're still feminists and so i thought it was better to create a space with feminism for myself by calling myself bad feminist. Like 'cause i'm really bad at it. But i also create you know coined the phrases repudiation of mainstream feminism and the way in which it prioritises heterosexual middle-class able bodied white women and to the detriment of every other kind of woman. And if. that's good feminism than i'm a bad tremendous..

"Nailed it. Emblazoned on the back of the jacket in red is the word you turkey. It's the name of the greek music music. Her role was to entertain the gods on mount. Olympus okay. I should have paid more attention in history class. Yeah me too. But madonna's look isn't an accident. She's accepting the billboard woman of the year award. She rests the glass award down on the grand piano on stage. Behind her and addresses the audience when madonna starts her acceptance speech. She's not just hearsay. Thanks she's here to deliver a message. She plants herself on the stage feet far apart. And then she begins. Thank you for acknowledging my ability to continue my career for thirty four years in the face of blatant misogyny sexism constant bullying and relentless abuse. Oh damn she's not holding back Madonna's chosen her words very carefully tonight in her speech she talks about what it takes to make it. As far as she has as a woman in the music industry. She talks about her early days struggling in new york city and she talks about the years that followed how aids took the lives of so many of her dear friends she then talks about how she was shamed for her sex book and erotica album She was called a four and a witch and she talks about what. It's like to be a woman aging in the music business. How she's been criticized and vilified and finally do not age because to age is a sin. You will be criticized. You'll be bill fide and you will definitely not. He played on the radio heavy. Yeah she's almost in tears as she talks about her relationship to feminism. I remember wishing that. I had a female here that i could look to per support. Camille paglia the famous feminist writer. Said that i set women back by objectify myself sexually. Oh i thought so. If you're a feminist you don't have sexuality you deny it. So i said i'm a different kind of feminist. I'm a bad feminist and the end of her speech is almost poetic. People say that. I'm so controversial but i think the most controversial thing i have ever done is to around to the doubters naysayers to everyone who gave me hell and said i could not that i would not that. I must not your resistance. Made me stronger. Made me push harder. Made me the fighter that i am today. Made me the woman that i am today. So thank you. When madonna accepted this award she was fifty eight now. She's sixty two. And guess what. She still. Making music and touring she keeps going and going in twenty nineteen madonna releases her fourteenth album madame x and follows it up with her madame x tour billboard listed as one of the best live shows of the year sadly in twenty twenty. The tour was shut down by the covid. Nineteen pandemic damn cova seriously but being stuck at home hasn't slowed her down at all she's been working on a screenplay about her life with diablo. Cody the oscar. Winning writer of juneau gamma aged just called me. Dietitian for that can't wait. Oh really whoever does get the part though. We'll certainly be in for the role of a lifetime so yeah madonna's still crushing it in her career but she's also killing it in her personal life. She's found a new home in lisbon. Portugal where she lives in a sixteen thousand square foot. Eighteenth century morris revival mansion. It's big enough to house her. Growing brood in addition to lord s rocco and david madonna's adopted three more children from malawi. Oh my god six kids just like our own mom. Yeah it's beautiful. And she's found love again. She's been dating dancer al-malik williams who's thirty three years her junior. Oh and i'm sure people have been nothing but gracious and respectful about that. Of course people love to not comment and other people's lives. When madonna posted a picture of them kissing to instagram. The comments exploded. People said things like it is sad. Ac- madonna kent age with grace. And is that her son. But i gotta say a little part of me feels like madonna's in joint controversy it's classic madonna to stir things up just for the hell of it. It's her greatest skill right. Madonna loves titillating the world. She pushes people outside their comfort zone. Outside the boundaries of what society finds acceptable because bitch. "Once reinvention won't be the answer it's two thousand four and madonna's in west london. She checks her. Watch three pm on the dot. She's right on time. Standing in front of madonna is stuart price her new producer. He's wearing a robe and socks and he looks like he just walked up. Okay was he not expecting her. he definitely was. You'd think madonna would be pissed but she's not she loves that he's not a stuffy producer in fact. He's a dj. He's been out working all night and actually is just waking up. Stewart reminds madonna of her days as a struggling artist in new york. Where deejays were like dodds. He reminds her how much she loved going to clubs and just dancing. She wants her new album to be just like that she wanted to be madonna circa nineteen seventy eight with her american life. She missed the mark. She didn't connect with her fans. But this time she's gonna make sure she hits the bullseye so it's not gonna be about making a point or pushing the envelope. It's going to be all about pleasure. The simple pleasure of being on the dance floor an only thinking with your body madonna's shoves a cup of coffee into sewer hand and barges right into his tiny cramped apartment. She's excited and raring to get to work. As she climbs stepladder up to his loft. She tells stewart that the album needs to sound like abba on drugs. Okay the best formula for an album one hundred percent. Madonna makes herself at home pushing aside the vintage keyboards that take up. Most of the space. They sit together for hours perfecting the hooks and brainstorming choruses. Madonna hopes that her fans see how hard she's worked that they'll get off their feet and dance with her but just as madonna's ready to debut her new album now titled confessions on a dance floor. She has an accident that means she might never be able to dance again. Wait whites on aug six two thousand and five on her forty seventh birthday. Madonna goes riding. Nash coma state and gets kicked off her horse. She falls to the ground hard. She can't move madonna's terrified she's rushed to a nearby hospital where they diagnosed her with three cracked ribs. A broken collarbone and a broken hand. Ooh that sounds so painful. Yeah really the ribs and collarbone will have to fuse back together on their own. But madonna doesn't really have time to wait for that to happen. Confessions on a dance floor is a dance album. If she's gonna promote it she needs to be able to dance to it and now she can hardly even move. The timing couldn't be worse. She's got a video to shoot for the lead single hung up madonna recuperate for a few weeks. But that's it and when cameras roll on the video. She doesn't miss a beat. If you watch hung up you'd think you are watching madonna in the best shape of her life. She shows up with this amazing farah fawcett mean an leotard and a very nineteen eighty shade of pink. She leaps and peretz from one end of a dance studio to the other and her hair bounces with each step. She looks poised. But fierce madonna leader says none of the bones had gone together pharmaceuticals and my will got me through the shoot. I mean let's be honest. That's a recipe for most hollywood success. Stories madonna's convinced that dancing the way back to her fans so she makes it happened and it turns out she's right in november. She drops her new album and it lights up. The charts hung up becomes a number one hit in forty one countries and it becomes madonna's thirty six top ten hit tying her with elvis presley or the artist with the most songs to hit the top ten king nature clean bow down and when she announces her confessions tour. It sells out within minutes. One point two million people buy tickets. It breaks record becoming the highest grossing tour ever for female artists in earns about two hundred and fifty million in two thousand and twenty one dollars with the confessions album and tour. Madonna proves that nothing can stop her. Nothing can hold her back broken bones she gets right back to work and show the world that she's a god when it comes to music and there's only one place where musical legends go to be worshiped leave blend. It's march tenth. Two thousand eight in new york city okay. I thought we were going to ohio. Well we kind of our madonna's being inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame where she'll be memorialized for eternity in a museum in cleveland but tonight she's at a fancy dinner accepting her award and joining the ranks of the beatles janice joplin and the supremes the hallowed few who have truly influenced and contributed to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll trailblazer check. Yup it's one of the highest honors. A musician can aspire to artists only become eligible for induction twenty five years after the release of their first record and madonna's at twenty five years. Exactly madonna's proud of this accomplishment. Really proud but you know who isn't there to celebrate with her her husband. Her marriage is totally falling apart. She's really struggling to keep things together for the sake of her children. In addition to lowland david guy in medina adopted a baby boy named david from malawi. But a new baby didn't fix their problems. Madonna leader says. There were many times when i wanted to express myself as an artist in ways that i don't think my ex husband felt comfortable with and there were times when i felt incarcerated wasn't really allowed to be myself. It's also rumored that guy who was ten years younger than her said. Madonna looks like a granny compared to her nubile backing dancers kicked him to the curb. The second he said.

"Two thousand three and we're back at the vm. As fleet again your last time though. I promise madonna's just appeared on top of the giant wedding cake and a black talks in tough hat. Britney spears and christina aguilera wait eagerly at the foot of the cape in their matching wedding dresses. Madonna's the groom the ringmaster the og and in case the costumes. Don't make that clear enough. Madonna's also got the moves to prove it. She's singing her new single hollywood as she dances down the stairs as she takes the last step off the cake she throws britney into a spin. Then she takes pristina's hands and leads her in some fancy footwork. Madonna's moves are practiced and control. Her technique is precise and fluid. She's better than any of the pros on dancing with the stars. She's basically saying. I might be forty five but i've still got the moves which is good for her. Oh yeah she out dances both brittany and pristina mira early twenties. But madonna doesn't just want to show that she's still in peak performance. She wants to show that. She's still provocative still sexual still madonna. That made her famous in the first place. She didn't dry up and become a prune just because she had a baby. Sexuality has always been a cornerstone of her art and if the industry needs a reminder of that then she's going to give them one. Madonna kneels on the stage and sensually caresses christina's leg she removes her garter swings above her head and then throws it into the crowd and the audience is intrigued. But they aren't prepared for what she has plan next. She turns to britney and pulls her in close brushing a strand of hair from her face. And then madonna kisses her the crowd lose it as she turns towards christina and plants a kiss on her tail and these are packs. They're passionate kisses that no one will forget. Oh yeah that moment is burned into my brain same here. And that's exactly what. Madonna wants this performance. She's making a move to claim her place on the throne as the queen of provocation. And she makes it clear that britney and christina are just continuing what she started they might be the flavor of the week but madonna was here first. She might be a mom and fo- aristocrat to boot but she's still the same woman most got arrested for being too sexual onstage. Okay and does it work. I mean we all remember the kiss so yeah but also no not really the next day. Everyone's writing about the performance but most of the ink that gets spilled is about madonna's age the critics who of course are mostly men just can't look past that one critic even calls the kiss vampiric like madonna's hoping to suck the youth and sexuality straight out of brittany in christina's throats and fun fact years after the kiss web sites will pop up tracing britney's downfall back to this kiss when madonna stole her life force. Okay think people know how vampires were so. You gotta watch twilight. The point is though madonna's career is stalling. Her last album flatlined line. Her via may appearance just reminded her haters yet. Again of how old she is. She needs to find a new way to connect to her. Fans and madonna's beginning to wonder if for once reinvention won't be the answer.

Yeah well you might not like this. There estate is also ranked one of britain's top venues for pheasant shooting. Okay my one dream that we can go one season without. I don't think that's ever gonna happen but we can try. Madonna is really into it though. She's already started speaking a british accent and now she's living a full on british life. She learned how to shoot pheasants and ride horses. She dresses in tweed and hobnobs with aristocracy. She poses in vogue magazine in twin. Set with pearls feeding pet chickens. Pet chickens i can get on board with that makes one of us. It's about as far removed as you can get from the old madonna. She's not the outspoken girl from the suburbs of detroit anymore. Now she's a proper lady of the manor it's like. She didn't just become british. She became upper. Crust british aristocratic british. Which makes her next career move. Even more confusing in april two thousand three madonna releases her ninth album american life. It's part protest album because she's against the iraq war and its part commentary on the american dream because she thinks it's gotten too materialistic. Honestly her messaging is a little confusing in the lead single american life. Madonna wraps that she doesn't need a lawyer manager agent chef three nannies assistant driver trainer butler bodyguard in stylist to be happy. Okay which is rich coming from a woman who has her own orangerie. I mean madonna's literally living the american dream in england but in her music she's trying to remind people at life is fleeting and material. Things aren't what really matters now but she doesn't get that she's no longer the best person to send that message. Stylus magazine puts it pretty succinctly saying when one of the world's richest women complains about commercialism and the emptiness of entertainment culture. It seems hypocritical rather than inciteful. She's raging against the life. She herself is leading. Entertainment weekly says. The album confirms everyone's worst fears about middle aged. Madonna achie- doesn't have a worldview beyond her next pilates appointment. I mean what else is there. Unsurprisingly the album tanks actually even worse at debuts at number one so madonna's hopeful and then the album falls the second week sales drop sixty two percent and then it falls completely off the charts for madonna. It's the worst feeling in the world. She's gotten bad reviews before and she's intimately familiar with hate mail but she was always in some kind of conversation with the culture. She yelled an everyone yelled back now. Their responses just silence. She didn't give people something they loved. Or even something they'd love to hate. She thought her new life in england was giving her perspective instead. She's just losing touch younger singers back in the. Us are taking over the pop charts britney and christina. That's who everyone's talking about these days. They're young sexy and new. But madonna refuses to be replaced or put out to pasture. She might not have hit the mark with american life but she still how to stir up enough controversy to get the spotlight right back where she likes it on her. She's just going to need a little help..

Appear in white dresses with matching hair bows and lace gloves. They walk around the stage with small white baskets throwing flower petals at the crowd. The curtain goes up and they're in. The center is a seventeen foot tall wedding. Cake and standing on top is a veiled bride wearing a white lace boost and a tattered white tulle skirt with a belt that reads boy toy. Okay ben here done that. Oh it's different this time. Trust me as the bride starts to sing like a virgin. She lifts her veil. And it's great lease spears. It's britney bitch britney's recreating madonna's iconic performance from nineteen eighty-four the same one that thrust her into superstardom. But this time. Kay cass stairs so britney can easily descend to the stage and not lose a lesson learned totally and when britney makes her way to the bottom of the cake. She's joined by another veiled bride in exactly the same get up and when her veil is raised its christina aguilera. It's chris c. bitch okay. That doesn't the same race definitely. Not but the crowd goes wild again. In two thousand and three britney and christina biggest stars the world and they've both been influenced by madonna like her both felt call to the stage since they were very young stepping into her shoes for. This performance is a way to signal that they're not child stars anymore. They're ready to be just as provocative and controversial as their idol. The to popstars dance teased the audience and even roll around on the stage. The same way. Madonna did when she gave her performance back in eighty four but as incredible as this double wedding is something missing as the chorus comes to an end. Britney and christina both turn back towards the giant wedding cake matching bouquets in hand. The music changes and from the top of the cake emerges madonna. She's wearing black from head to toe. Her black pants are tucked into knee. High black leather stiletto boots her black lace bra peeks through sheer black top underneath a fitted. Black tuxedo jacket with tales. And she's finished the look with at tilted. You guessed it black top hat this time. She's the groom and she's in charge of the stage. The audience gets to its feet. Giving her a well-deserved standing ovation britney and christina might be the bells of the ballpark but madonna will always be the true queen of the season and tonight. "Does she learn on a child's guitar like you did she wishes she shifts all of the energy that she used to put into dancing until learning guitar and she gets good good enough to earn that position in the band. Now when they perform. Madonna is free to move around and be seen while strumming. She jumps onto tabletops dances. People can't take their eyes off of her. she loves it. You have to remember as a dancer. Madonna was told exactly what to do what to wear what steps to take what emotions to convey so performing rock and roll is super liberating for her. She feels free. Madonna can't get enough. Dan would later say she soaked it all up learning everything about rock music about playing it and singing it. She just wanted more and by more. He means that she wants to be front and center. She wants to be the one singing at least one song here and there. Dan likes her enthusiasm. So he's like sure. Poor sweet madonna of courses thrilled. She comes alive when it's her. Turn to sing in front of the crowds not to clarify. These are small crowds in small clubs. But they're getting some favorable reviews and they're also getting regular gigs at underground clubs like cbgb's but it's not like they're being offered any record deals. Madonna can do better get bigger faster that might require replacing the leads bingo and lake No way he brought her into the band and now she's trying to take over and become a headliner. After one gig where madonna goes out of her weight off station. They get into it furious and tells her you're all naked ambition with no talent. How trude yeah. He's pissed but nobody. And i mean nobody hells madonna. She doesn't have what it takes to make it so she packs up her stuff and leaves the band and her boyfriend but now she's laser focused on proving dan gilroy and everyone else who doesn't believe in her wrong..

"Seven one seven thirty nine Madonna is being sued by a fan I love this she's being sued by a fan because Madonna started her concert late and I love match I was referencing her yesterday when I was talking about that the uproar over much of over the halftime show I'm like come to somebody else because I'm the Madonna generation I stopped clutching pearls about stuff like this in ninety one after the blonde ambition tour but anyway here's the deal to disgruntled local Madonna fans are suing the legendary singer writes the washer watch writes the New York Post for refunds to a pair concert in Brooklyn last year because she showed up hours late and wound their night boy Antonio an heir Andrew each shelled out three hundred dollars to see Madonna and set last fall for her manta mechs tour Madonna was supposed to start at eight thirty but didn't get into the groove until eleven thirty and then all my god this is rude yeah in the show wrapped up around one AM so they filed a class action suit three hours come on was the show though did did they say I'm not going to no way you guys don't remember guns and roses in the nineties studio when they were all of these guys were on on the horse mac in the word disaster and they they weren't going on until after midnight sometimes one AM yeah they are coming to the target center just announced yesterday and I saw that in when I heard this I made sure I got in the door so I could witnesses myself and I believe it was at the target center are they playing at target field yes yeah but this was at target center and I sat behind the stage and sure enough they didn't go on until one one thirty in the morning and I was expecting it an awful show but it was one hundred percent show business and they work that show really hard and it was really good but you know one in the morning I went right from that concert right into work that morning no I tell me this I just think it is the height of rudeness people are paying if people are paying upwards and Antonio and Andrew take three hundred dollars a people are paying three hundred dollars to see you get your blank together you know this and I love her this comes from the this is tough love because I do adore her but she always uses the the reasoning of I wanted to be perfect for my fans well wake up a little earlier you know I mean if you want to rehearse I'd get it and I appreciate that about her but get there a little earlier for rehearsal there's no reason to make people wait and we hear this about her all the time there's no reason to make people wait three hours when they're paying good money to see you I I will never understand this I don't care the reason it is a very solid I don't appreciate my fame are we guys here so far removed from where your fans are coming from that's a doctor's place to be in I just think it's so the OB is I think whenever people are habitually late everybody's late every so often but when people are habitually late to things what it signals to me is you have no respect for other people's time sure well I really do think that's what it means a look occasionally whatever but if you are all ways late the signal you're sending to me is you do not value my time you value your time way more and that's the height of rudeness to me so anyway that's how it is in business to I have to be careful not to be late because I can be late sometimes staff if you're not five minutes earlier late that's how it is I know and I know everything Jason is saying is true so I just I always have to be better I'm always ten minutes late don't don't do that I know his route I know it as I didn't really have a hard time I pushed every ten for the last minute and well known stuff I know style stop it I don't even need to make excuses I'll just stop me let me end with a compliment for dawn dawn is extremely punctual and all the years that we've known each other and have she's reducer of this crap on toast you have always always always been on time and always respectful of other people's times well thank you you know I had a theater teacher wake us all up in college because we're all theater students in artistic and everything showing up late to class and this old guy he was a just an old theatre teacher and he stopped the class when somebody came in ten minutes late and he was like I don't care if your brother has died or if your mother died or if your dog is Diedre if you're sick or if you wrecked your car you planned for things like that and you will be on time all of you people want attention and that's what that comes down to if you are leading yourself leave your house late and you show played sub consciously you want attention coming in late even though you're crying right now you like the attention so get over yourself how awesome dawn said is similar I think I missed you my drama to on my drama teacher Mrs he'd listen to what she I walked in one time all my god god we're like parallel as much you been going around the drama casters because Mrs he'd look at me one time I it was for a good we were in the match maker which was the straight play version of hello Dolly yeah and I walked in late and I want you to meet an excuse and sees species just everybody and she goes excuses excuses are tools of the incompetent and those who use them build monuments to nothing and seldom amount to anything my still remember that word for word in nineteen eighty nine yeah okay every time someone wanting to her yeah.
