"Apparently for her or her ribs were so sore that she you know she couldn't she couldn't sing with the power and hit the notes that you normally work within a matter of a few weeks the song rose to number two on the country charts and number nine on the pop charts it was a very big hit for her and it's one of the most exciting most enduring hits of that year of of pop and country music it's it's just an exquisite recording my name is Wayne rests for and I live in Lombard Illinois we lived in Madison Tennessee which is a suburb or national not too far from our house Patrick Klein was involved in a really terrible serious automobile accident squad amazing that all of them live and she was taken down to a local hospital she had attended our church on a couple of occasions and my pastor had kept in contact with her so he went to the hospital to visit and on one occasion at least he took me along and we visited with her probably read the scripture of truth from the Bible and had prior once I became acquainted less Patsy Cline and I had an opportunity to visit with her and talk with her then her songs became more and more emotionally important to me and heard music had great appeal I sing to people of my generation I don't even know how to explain it was almost like magic to her voice and to hear those wonderful song see signs that I have the CD in my car and I played that CD over and over and over again the song is complex in a way and yet it's beautifully simple it has wonderful lyrics they're easy to remember some people call it a girl song but I'm not quite sure that true because men often have the emotional feelings when they are involved in a relationship that ends I didn't have a disastrous love affair which brought on a extra meeting to the song like crazy but I know a lot of people dead friends and they will play crazy over and over again because it was helping them get through an emotional situation and their life and bringing them into a place where they could resume normal relationships and normal life I think many people know that Patsy Cline had a a difficult marriage with her husband Charlie they seem to love each other deeply was a passionate marriage but they fought a lot and many of her peers in country music field that she took some of the anguish that she felt from her rage and brought some of that emotion to her songs and song.

"Tuned into Tennessee matters. I'm Robert wine today. We're talking a little bit about careers, and the directions that you can take things in as especially if you have a really identified the path that you wanted to go on sometimes you're going to take a job right out of high school. Sometimes you're going to go to college and figure out what your career paths may be to today. We're talking with someone who's going to prevent another alternative. And it's not exactly one. That's a strange topic to anyone joining us in studio today from the Madison recruiting office of the United States Air Force staff. Sergeant Dave loving, Dave. Great to see you ritzy. Robert of how you doing everything. Good. I'm doing. Well. Thanks, great. Yeah. So know when we first heard from your team that we are going to be able to chat today just about. About the air force. And some of the opportunities that it brings. I think that. There was probably a little bit of surprised because I I have a little bit of background personally from my my own family being. A couple of generations ahead of me that were in the military, but not everybody is that familiar with all of the things that the opportunities that the military in the air force bring you are proof that there are a lot of different opportunities from the United States Air Force. Right. Yes, sir. There are many different opportunities for people straight out of high school and even straight at a college. If you don't know what you wanna do there's over one hundred and fifty different career fields in the air force, and we can help lead you in the right direction. That's basically what I what I do. Robert is adult individuals every day and help them figure out what they wanna do. You're not just saying that because it's true. And there are people that can take advantage of that opportunity. This happened to you tell a little bit about your story. How how is basically was the opportunity that presented itself to you? My dad was an army for your twenty six years. And my parents always led me to do something like engineering, they said that that's the new thing. And so I went to college for a couple of years doing engine. Nearing? And I decided it wasn't right for me after I took calculus one calculus, two calculus three. And I ended up getting pretty serious with a girl and. I decided to do prolonged business, and my parents were like, no, we aren't going to pay for your college anymore. So I'll tell you what I did. I talked to my dad, and I was like going into an army just like you. And he told me no to join the airforce. I think they'll be a better life for you. And Mark Rudra at the time sent me down, and we talked about different career opportunities. And I wanted to learn a skill. I can take with me the rest of my life. So before became a recruiter. I did like carpentry welding sheet metal fabrication. And you can do anything in the air force from working on those planes working on the hangers. You can do medical jobs, computer work. There's something out there for everybody. Robert there are so many folks, I think especially when you're young people had asked me when I was in college. What are you going to do after after graduation? I told him. Well, I think I'm going to go to lunch with my parents beyond that, I didn't really know what a hundred right? And I can certainly imagine that there's some folks that either whether they go to college or don't go to college. They're just feeling like, I don't really know. I'm going to spend time in this class learning about western civilization. I don't know how that's going to be something that based on where I wanna go. There are so many different types of careers full career paths where people are looking at like, you were were you're in some kind of a calculus class going. I'm not sure that. This is something I can see myself doing for a long time. Let alone being part of who I'm going to be you know, ten twenty thirty years from now there's a lot of people like this. Right. So so the cool thing about the air force is no matter what career field you're in the air force is going to send you to a technical training for that career field. So if you're a cop or your firefighter, so say, you're Cobb, we're gonna send you technical training to learn that career field, and you're gonna earn between forty to sixty college credits that our criminal Justice related for that career field. So there there are many people who even go to college and graduate with a degree, and they can't get a job that they want with that degree or they they can't find out what they wanna do. But in the air force, you're going to actually be earning college credits for whatever career field you're in. And those those credits you can later transfer and use your GI Bill, and we'll help pay for your bachelor's or your master's, and you'll have a skill and certification take with you to the us billion world when you said to get out, these are, actually, you know, I think. It's important to also note that you know, these are things that we're talking about they're they're not new opportunities. They're just probably knew to people that are hearing about this for the first time, what are some of the things that you run into whenever you're talking to somebody of different interest levels. Maybe from mildly interested all the way into. Yeah. I'm definitely doing this. What are some of those things that are happening to them about when they sign up because I mean, let's face it for a lot of folks that are non military that don't have that kind of background when they hear about the air force. All they're thinking that we'll everybody's is flying a fighter jet or a bomb. So some of the frequent questions we get our aren't educational which we already talked about. And you do have people who who don't know that the average person in the air force works a forty hour forty or fifty hours a week. Some people think we work. Twelve twelve hours a day seven days a week. I've been asked questions like do. Oh wear the uniform. And I go home. It's just basically like any other job. Once you work your jobs in the air force, you work seven to four. That's what I did before became a recruiter works seventy four Monday through Friday. And then when I got off a spent time with my family, and and friends just like you would in any other job we in the opportunity for you. I mean, kind of taking it to the next level. With regard to how you said, you definitely we're not going to go to the engineering direction when you found out all the different directions. You could go from there. You can go through what your process was as far as well. Yeah. Okay. Maybe I'm going to be pre law here is that something you still wanted to do is something you found out. You didn't want to do something that you may do later walk us through your own process. And that maybe someone who's listening to us might put themselves in your situation. I Robert I just wanted to learn my job learned that skill. We were talking about. So I'll learn how to do draw while do carpentry, and I finished my basement at the old house lived at. And then after that, I was focused on moving up in my shop, Emma trade. So eventually, I got to the point where I was running my own carpenter and welder shop, and it gave me the skill does management skills. They sent me to a leadership school to learn how to lead people, and then after that, I kind of went to step out of my career field, and they gave me an associate's degree in construction technology when I was doing those carpentry things. And now that I'm recruiter. I've been earning human resource credits in here soon. They'll give me another associates degree in human resource management. And I'm about to finish my bachelor's degree in business here soon, and I'm focused on becoming an officer. Now, you have to have a four year degree to become an officer in the air force and in order to file planes or lead, a massive amounts of people. You do have to have a four year degree in the air force and my wife of been married since I've been in the air force. We got married shortly before we joined the air force is very they like to promote a family friendly environment. So for her kind of what it did for her is there are certain scholarships. That's else's can get. So she finished her associate's degree. It's my CA. And it's a spouse scholarship for so spouses, get there get their associate's degree. And then after that, she kinda got some student loans and get her master's degree. But the cool thing is after that. We're like, well, why don't I give you some of my GI Bill. So I gave her my GI Bill and she ended up finishing her master's degree her MBA. So there are probably some folks that are listening to us today. That wanted to maybe on their own time. Learn about this for themselves mentioned earlier, you're in an office. That's here in the mid state and Madison tell our audience and remember what we do have our listeners all across the state where they can go physically if they wanted to maybe drop in and have a conversation with somebody or if they wanted to do some research on their own where would they go online to to find out some of that information? Okay. Well, there there are several reporters here in the Nashville area there there two of us in Madison Tennessee kind of in north Nashville. We have a couple of Murphy's borough one in Dixon, and there's usually always someone in the Brentwood office that can help them out there as well. If you want you can.

With regard to how you know, you you said, you definitely we're not going to go the engineering direction when you found out all the different directions. You could go from there. You kind of go through what your process was as far as well. Yeah. Okay. Maybe I'm going to be pre law here is that something you still wanted to do is something you found out you want to do something that you may do later walk us through your own process. And maybe someone who's listening to us my put themselves in your situation. Well, I Robert I just wanted to learn my job learned that skill. We were talking about. So I'll learn how to do draw do carpentry, and I finished my basement. At the old house lived at. And then after that, I was focused on moving up in my shop in my trade. I'm I've been earning human resource credits in here soon, they'll give me another social screen and human resource management, and I'm about to finish my bachelor's degree in business here soon, and I'm focused on becoming an officer. Now, you have to have a four year degree to become an officer in the air force and in order to fly planes, or or lead a massive amounts of people. You do have to have a four year degree in the air force and me I've been married since I've been in the air force. We got married shortly before we joined the air force is very they like to promote a family friendly environment. And so for her kind of what it did for her is there are certain scholarships that spouses can get so she finished her associate's degree. It's called my CA. And it's a spell scholarship for so spouses, get there get their associate's degree. And then after that, she kinda got some student loans get her bachelor's degree. But the cool thing is after that. We're like, well, why don't I give you some of my GI Bill. So I gave her some GI Bill and she ended up finishing her master's degree her MBA. So there are probably some folks that are listening to us today that wanted to maybe on their own time. Learn about this for themselves mentioned earlier, you're in an office. That's here in the mid state and Madison tell our audience and remember, we we do have our listeners all across the state where they can go physically if they wanted to maybe drop in and have a conversation with somebody or if they wanted to do some research on their own where would they go online to to find out some of that information? Okay. Well, there are several recruiters here in the Nashville area there. There are two of us. In Madison, Tennessee kind of in north Nashville. We have a couple of Murphy's borough one in Dixon, and there's usually always someone in the Brentwood office that can help them out there as well. If you want you can.

"It's time for data's quick five. Let's see here. I got some good stuff. And we're still gonna follow all of the all of the the hot takes still moving on the panhandle. Pommelled I keep seeing video of Mexico beach. It is I mean, I've never seen anything like it in my life. The damage it is. I mean, some people are saying the whole the whole like this Mexico beach, all like, this just leveled still tons of flooding, but just took completely destroyed structures toxic red tide could sickened people as hurricane Michael pushes it ashore. Because we've been hearing a lot about that. We've talked about it here on quick five before previously that toxic red tide. That has been worse in Florida than in many many years. Now, they're saying hurricane Michaels. Pushed a lot of the red that toxic red tide inland, exposing people to the dangerous health effects of a record algae bloom that has just it's really affected much of Florida's coast. There was a surge as as much as fourteen feet along parts of the Florida, panhandle. And they said look this is going to bring this red tied up to land. This is what some of the biologist and ecologist at the university of Miami are saying, you know, could the toxin could get in the air people could be breathing. It the red tide is made up of an organism that can trigger attacks and people with asthma and some people say they have headaches flu like symptoms stinging is they're coughing things of that nature. So man, I hope people I hope people are going to recover from this. Also, I told you about how mosquito. Ios hurricane Michael spawned monster mosquitoes five times, the normal size of regular mosquitoes. And they're felt like a needle. Well, apparently, there's a shark warning as some there were some sharks that were swept in by these horrific conditions. So yeah, they were saying just, you know, be kind of careful storm brings in stuff, and it floods, and you know, you could I mean, depending on how deep the water is. And you've got fourteen foot storm surges, you could have some bigger things are Washington the streets, and maybe could get into other bodies of water as well. But yeah, I mean, just just insane. And a man was rushed to the hospital after he was actually stabbed any haunted house. Amanda, Tennessee was rushed to the hospital this week after he was stabbed by a real knife at a haunted house, James Yocum, and a group of friends read, the Nashville nightmare and Madison Tennessee on Friday.
