"But even then, the frame rate regularly drops significantly. Currently, I can't even walk through the opening area and turn a corner without stuttering on a 30 80 with ray tracing off, said another user, performance is not good at all right now, because the protocol was released. Today, and only the PC version appears to have frame rate issues so far. However, and even then, it doesn't appear to be affecting every user. And that's a bummer to hear, right? For a game that we talk about in our review, right? This is the first game coming out of striking distance. It is one of the first big releases coming out of crafting as a publisher, of course, crafting being now the publishing holder of pubg. And there are acquiring more studios and publishing more games. Callisto protocol, I think, was supposed to be this big coming out party for them. All right, now we're entering this triple-A single player space. And we're putting out a game that we're hoping is going to be received as like one of the bigger and finer single player action games this year. Single player survival horror games this year that hopefully will make a splash. Stuff like this gets in the way, right? Stuff like this, money is the water in terms of the reception. And stuff like this really sucks for the audience that really was looking forward to playing this game on PC because I'd say one of the main draws for me with closer protocol is how good it looks is how good the gore looks when you're cutting people up, right? Is the presentation of it and you can get that on PS5, right? But PC is supposed to be the place where it's like, all right, let's turn up the settings. Put on the ray tracing, put on all the shit, any Cortez talks about Nvidia DLSS. Let's crank up all those sliders and really make this thing sing. And the fact that it runs like this on PC, that is such a bummer for this game. Yeah. I wanted to call attention to some tweets here from the digital foundry crew. So John Lennon was doing a Twitter thread and their videos out and I should check it out the DF tech review of close to protocol. A PS5 focus piece concentrating primarily on the game, which is excellent. They're saying, but I wanted to stress that this is easily one of the best implementations of ray tracing on console to date. It's rare to see multiple RT ray tracing features use simultaneously, let alone with such diffuse reflections. This game looks good either way, but ray tracing adds a ton in my opinion. Dude, the lighting is incredible. He said, I love the game and I'm super impressed with the visuals on display. One of the best looking games I've played to date. Alas, there's some issues with certain versions that will hopefully be cleared up soon. I'm sure they're talking about the PC one. But interesting that in direct opposition to how poorly it's running on PC. It's like, oh damn, it is like a technical showpiece for the PS5. Yeah. Yeah, and it's surprised me from crafting, right? Because when I look at them as the pubg company, I associate them with PC. I would think that PC would have been their priority here, especially again for a game that is going for fidelity so hard. And that does succeed when it comes to when they're doing the ray tracing works on the platforms where that stuff works, right? When it comes to that, being so good and being so pristine, right? Why does the what happened to the PC version? Like, I'm sure there's a story there. But either way, yeah, I think that is going to money the experience for a lot of people. I'm sure that played a role in terms of where the metacritic stands. And yeah, I guess if you're out there and you're looking forward to playing close to protocol, avoid the PC version, hopefully you have the ability to play it on a console. Yeah. And it's interesting. I'm not really seeing much talk about Xbox. So I don't want to speak for Mike, but I think he played it on Xbox. I could be wrong about that one though. I don't remember hearing any complaints from him at least. Cool. Story number three continuing to roll down the road on this one. The cluster protocols road map has been revealed.

"Receive an alert, the dynamic island expands to notify you. So I tweeted yesterday on Thursday saying the verge cast is going to be a little late. And also, if you have any questions, anything you want us to talk about on the first class, let me know. And solidly half of the responses I got were basically to the tune of like, are we really going to let them get away with calling it the dynamic island? We're just going to do this. So they're already running the ads. I watch the bills rams game last night, and every other ad was a dynamic island ad. What would they call it though? But if they didn't call it that, just a toggle switch. Anything else. So I think the name is great. I've come around on the fact that if you were a company, the size of Apple, Apple has been very conservative recently, right? It's a huge company, global scale, politics, regulators, data centers, and there are now just because of who they are. They're a conservative company. Every now and again, apple is the only company of that skill that's like dynamic island. Let's do it. I mean, there's like a history of really stupid names for really cool user interfaces, right? There's the hamburger. There's the meatballs. Straight up, we call it a mess. Everyone all day long. Let me get my mouse and wait, just let that slide. I don't know the dynamic island is gonna stick. So it'll just be island. Yeah, look, I think it's a fun name. They had to call it something. Do you think there was a meeting at Apple where somebody was like, what if we call it the touch bar? That's basically what it is, right? And then somebody from the Mac team just came sprinting into the room. I was like, no. We can't do that. It's not allowed. I think what will almost certainly end up happening is that die hard Mac fans will call it the dynamic island and then the billions upon billions of people who buy the phone will emergent behavior, some other name for it, and that will be the name that everyone calls it. And they will be our comments will be full of pedantic arguments about actually call me pedantic or actually calling the dynamic island or not. Trust me, I live through the OSX wars. And it's going to be bad. It's not going to be great. The technology of it is super cool though. It's super cool technology. So that's where I'm like of both minds. Really? So the basic idea, right? So they moved the notch down to a pill. It's the camera that you have sensor, the proximity sensor. There are actually two different spots. So there's screen above them. So there's no more notch and a screen in between them. And what the island does is it just like blacks out more of that area to put indicators to the left and right of the pill shaped notches. Yeah. Cutouts. It's great. And so that part is interesting, right? You're going to take this thing where the screen where the screen is always blacked out. And you're actually going to lean into it and black out more of the screen. Yeah. Cool. Like very few companies will do that very few companies will tell their developers to support such a thing and actually get their developers to it. Very apple in that way. Someone spent hours upon hours doing the little bounce animations. And they look great. But in use, David used it as well too, that really what you're getting is like, when you place some music, you get music indicators. When you have a timer going, you get timer indicators. The voice memos one is really cool. Like legitimately my favorite one of the thing because you get the little soundwaves. I love a soundwave. They showed a bunch of other stuff, right? If you call a lift, it'll tell you how long the lift will be. You get your sports scores. Sports scores. So they're all connected to the phone's widget system. So kind of like the way I have been thinking about this, these are minimized widgets. Yeah, that's basically right. Are we going to call them widgets? Yeah, the widget notch. Notch. Notch switch. There it is. We got it in one. But wait, you say that? You say that like it's a bad thing. That feels like a good thing. But it's like how many widgets do you want to minimize? Yeah. And I've been making the list in my head. And it's like actually vanishingly few. Oh, that's interesting. I feel exactly the opposite. I really, there are so many things that my phone knows that I wish it had quicker ways to tell me. One of them is like, is my alarm set. This is like a spoiler alert for the iOS 16 review that I'm writing for next week is that there's just a ton of things that Apple use to require you. It's like, if I want to know, if I one easy example I always give is, if you're a person who uses a habit tracker app, and you open up the app every time you want to log that your glass of water, right? That's too many steps. And so for little things like that, or who won the Yankee game, like apple is slowly pulling that out of apps and into the front of the phone. And with iOS 16, on the lock screen, it's pulling all that stuff even further to the front of the phone. And I feel like the dynamic island is the kind of thing where it's just like, now it's even more there. And for me, there's the question of am I going to want to see these things like 24 hours a day? I don't know. And do I want to see a tiny moving waveform all the time? I'm listening to music. I also don't know. But there is a lot of little tiny bits of information that I'd like to have throughout the day that feel like they fit there perfectly. They're super contextual, right? Because I haven't gotten to play with them. I've only seen y'all's videos in the videos that Apple played. But their contextual. So it's not like that waveform for the music is always there. You still have to interact to make it happen. No, and there's a little bit of a delay. So if you open the music app and stop the music and then go at the island is there. And then it shrinks back down to the notch. I don't get out of here. What are you doing? Yeah, you can't actually to David's point. One of the things that surprised me about it is it's the sort of like user flow of it is more complicated than you would expect. Yes. And I think in one particular way backwards, just having use, I mean, we haven't gotten we got to review the phone, right? But so just to get it, you've got to open an app and do something, right? You got to start playing music, you got to set a timer. Now you could do that from maybe a lock screen widget or something else or from Siri, but you got to do something and mostly you're going to do it. You're going to open it up and do something. So when you close the app and the thing flies into the widget. If you've got two things going at once, there's a cool animation, the island breaks actually into two islands. They haven't addressed that, naming wise. It's the archipelago.

"Like that seems to be Roku's job. They either want to put it in your television or just make it like a free thing that they hand out at fairs. That's what Roku wants to be. And I'm just like, what if you made a good one? That's an idea. What if you made a set top box that was good? Amazon makes really high powered boxes, right? At every price point from nothing to a couple 150 bucks maybe. But have you ever used it's ugly? Like Amazon does not put, I don't think there's one UI designer in all of Amazon. And they have to work on every single project. That's the only explanation for how bad across the board. Amazon UIs are. They just redid it all. It's not like great. It looks like everything else. But I do think fundamentally apple's scale gives them a huge advantage with the hardware of the TV box. Again, I think the software is pretty messy, but yeah, things a little iPad. It gets all of the benefits of the iPad engineering team. It gets all the benefits of the M1 engineering team. It gets all the benefits of the iPhone engineering team to just operate as a computer. So it's a really good computer. And it doesn't kill its own memory and require a restart every two days. Like that's weird. That's just a weird thing my Google TV requires. Alex, what do you got? I think it is at the most important product, hardware product at Apple is the MacBook. Or the computer, not the phone. Oh, that's really overheated. Yeah, coming in hot. No, 'cause we saw during the pandemic that people actually do care about their computers, that we all have, we're very quietly caring about our computers. And then we all had to go buy them. And I think computers are still the core of the heart of things. Everybody's using phones, but quibi thought that phones were going to be a great deal. How'd that go for you watching entertainment? People don't actually like watching movies on their phones if they don't have to. They would prefer a computer. They don't like having to type out their school book reports. I'm thinking of the kids here. Computers still do a good task and they do it really, really well. And phones are really, really important. They're critical. We all use them every day. But you go to your computer a lot. And that's their core business and from which everything else brings. I would quibble with the idea that it's their core business at this point. It should be their core business. There we go. I do think, I mean, one of my alternate overheated takes was going to be that Apple silicon investment is actually going to be the legacy of apple and might turn out to be the most important thing it ever spent its money on. And I think that sort of drives at this point too, right? Is that like at least for a while longer are computers are like a central device in our lives. And this doesn't apply to everybody and doesn't apply everywhere in the world. But the centrality of the PC is as obvious as it ever was to a lot of people right now, I think. And I think in that sense, Apple seems to have fashioned itself as a computer company again for the first time in a while, which I think is kind of exciting. And they're changing everybody else. Everybody's now chasing them to some degree. Intel went from it's wild to me that 5 years ago until it was so big, it could not fail. It had this huge monopoly, like 95, 99% of computers and servers were them, and it's just collapsed. Because Apple and AMD came along. And Apple in particular is forcing everybody to rethink how they design these things and rethink how operating systems work. And that's awesome. And it's because of the MacBook. I'm bringing it all back. It's definitely overheated. Apple could shut down the Mac line and still be as big as Apple. We're not here for reality. We're here for things we feel. No, but I agree the feeling is important. A reason that I will not buy a Windows computer is because I can't text from it as reliably as I can for my MacBook. And that's a really important feature to me because I spend actually more time now in my laptop than I do on my phone. I don't even know that's true. It just feels that way, right? While we've been doing this and I'm literally using my laptop, I've picked up my phone three times. That's ridiculous. I'm glad to know we're keeping your attention. I thank you for being president. I don't know what this TV take is. David, who added himself again. What's going on on Twitter? But I think fundamentally, it's where you're productive. And I think apple's argument for a long time is you will soon be productive on your iPad. You'll soon be as productive on your phone. And certainly people are productive on iPads and phones. But most businesses are run on excel and excel happens on your laptop. And that's that reality is not going anywhere for anyone. I like it. All right, Neil, you get to go last, then we're going to get out of here. What's your last overheat to take? Apple will not reach its final form until it builds a TV. I feel like I should have seen that coming. I regret everything. Apple was not a successful company. It can not be counted as a success until it builds a TV. Until it takes over the single device in our lives, the is responsible for America's

Open cappy was an extension of an IBM interconnect supported by AMD and silence as well, but mostly used in IBM's power 9 processor family. While CXL enabled CPUs haven't actually shipped yet, Anand tech notes, it's already become the sole remaining server CPU interconnect standard that can be used over the PCI Express bus. "Sorry, I just spat at my camera. Prices on Z fold three unused default threes are starting at $780. $780. Samsung galaxy Z fold three. Okay, let's be fair. Let's go unlocked. And I bet you it's higher now. 7 88, 12 gigs of ram, 256 gigs of storage. $788 for a used. What did they say? I mean, this is like from a reseller. I sell global LLC. It doesn't say what they think the condition is. Oh, condition is good. In good condition, I want to see in mint condition from quick ship mobile 9 25. Like new, 9 25. That is insane. So over 50% off so yeah, maybe you need to trade it in at Samsung so that you can still pay $200 to get a note 22 because if you sell it used, you might only be able to get about $800 for it. You lost a $1000 on the MSRP value of the Z fold three in half a year. Half a year. That is not the sign of a healthy building growing product segment from a market leader like Samsung. Muppet ish suddenly, the price of the OG duo doesn't seem too bad as a day one duo owner. Yeah, $400 for a duo one. You're sitting pretty heavy. Yeah, McCoy in three, I'm kind of alluding to that. Samsung was selling the Z fold three for 9 9 9 a few months after it was released. Again, they destroyed the people who get hurt the most by Samsung's business practices are Samsung fans. If you go in and you're a day one and your die hard and you want to be on the bleeding edge, you have to know by now that in a matter of weeks the amount of money you spend on a Samsung is going to evaporate if you wanted to try and flip that device. And that you really need to be in the one to two year cycle on flipping in and trading your phone through Samsung trade ins. So the Samsung die hards who love to promote. Well, I need a phone that gets the four and 5 years of software updates. But I'm going to flip it in 18 months. Oh, I can't have a phone that only has two operating system updates and four years of bug fixes and security patches because I'm going to flip my Samsung next year. I love it. I love it. So I'm sorry, greggs. That was silly. I'm just pointing it out. I love your channel. Love your face. I do enjoy beer Samsung commentary knowing that it's Samsung commentary. It is a little silly. All right, why don't we take sort of a review roundup. I'm still in a holding pattern on ever buying or reviewing Apple products on my own channel. I did get kind of a pointed email from someone that excuse me. Now that was some really gross coffee burping there. I did get a comment from someone saying like, hey, I saw that you were on slip deals and you did a review of the AirPods pro. I thought you were blacklisting Apple products and you're like, I said on my channel, I was not going to buy or support Apple business practices. I was hired to share my thoughts on the AirPod pros from a company in an outlet, and I did not spend my own money and I did not support apple's business practices, and I still had some pointed criticisms on a channel that I think was really looking for me to just say, they're the bestest. So I can appreciate where that rang a little disingenuous. But still, since the announcement of on device content scanning, I have not given Apple a dime. MacBook, M two one of the most exciting aspects of Apple as a technology manufacturer, Apple silicon is really good. I mean, I've been very encouraged by a business practice that I predicted back when I was still at newegg. I'm very early into my run at newegg we were doing these little one off and short videos and I brought up. Your next laptop could be powered by an arm based CPU. And Apple has taken that idea and has shown us where some of the issues with the comfortable competition between AMD and Intel can be disrupted. We're always going to be excited about real innovation and market disruption. And that's what the M1 did. I'm still not going to give Apple any money, but I can point to this is a trend that will actually improve products for all consumers. Just like I was saying, if you're a Samsung Stan and you're not excited about ready for, then you're kind of dumb. You're really bad, Samsung fan, because the only thing that's going to make your Samsung better is some competition, especially from like Motorola, like it would be so easy for Samsung to just slap ready for around. They just need to do it. They just need to improve it. The amount of resources Samsung would need to dedicate to that is very, very small. And Motorola is not a giant player, Samsung could do it. So now we're seeing Intel scramble we're seeing AMD scramble. And we're seeing other technological entities enter into the space in ways that we wouldn't have seen them bees boulders aggressive before. Qualcomm, in the PC space, is very interesting. If we could get media attack in the PC space, that would be very interesting, and now we've got the M two, the refresh, the new version of this SOC coming to the MacBook Air. And so I just feel I'm a little conflicted on this. I'm going to share this article. This comes by way of digital trends. I had a laugh at Apple's expense. I shared this on the Discord, but it definitely brings up how we don't talk about these products with nuance, and it makes me mad because in a very roundabout way, not in a direct, I'm going to front for them, but in a very circuitous path, I kind of need to defend apple a little teeny bit, and it makes me want to throw up in my mouth a bit, but that's fair. And I want us to be better, so if I want us to be better, I have to point out, even when it's Apple, when something isn't really fair. Okay. Preamble out of the way. Nathan Drescher, written up digital trends, reviewers agree the M two MacBook Air has a heat problem. And they run down the verge and gadget, tech crunch, they link the Dave Dave2D, did a MacBook Air review. iJustine spent a few minutes talking about it. Reviewers overall were blown away by the MacBook Air, which brings it more in line with apple's new vision of hardware. But consistently, all of these commentaries, all of these reviews had to point out a significant amount of thermal throttling that occurs when you hit the MacBook Air. The M two MacBook Air with heavy compute workloads. And we're talking the M series chips are really good at video. They're really good at chewing up and editing and rendering project files, like that's legit. If apple's ever going to lay claim to, well, creators love creative people are just Apple people and we're so good for creation, has nothing to do with macOS. They'd be like, the fact that Apple can't even make a touchscreen version of macOS is silly and dumb. But the M series chip just as we've seen with other arm processors. It's when you optimize video chewing applications for arm, the performance is wonderfully efficient. There are project files that I can crunch on a current phone. I've got my red magic here. Snapdragon 8 gen one. Oh my gosh, it runs so hot. But this can genuinely chew up four K 60 frames per second video faster than many gaming laptops with good mid range GPUs. I'm on a big old power hungry thread ripper RTX 2080 TI, this is a big, heavy steel case workstation computer that I do most of my work on. The delta of finishing a four K 60 YouTube video is shrinking between a $900 phone and what was a significantly more expensive workstation to put together. And if you're not playing at that kind of premium tier workstation grade setup, you

"Like I dug Pokémon sword enough, I played quite a bit of brilliant diamond and didn't finish this, 'cause I was just bored by it and I barely even touched a Pokémon legends arceus. But usually one of those new Pokémon game coming out, I do plan to play it to some extent. Pokémon violet violet and scarlet color. Scarlett, I'm looking forward to those, but I'm also like, yeah, they're the next Pokémon games coming up, right? They're not going to be mind-blowing things for me. So it's doing three. I want to check out Andy Cortez says this is my kind of game, and I'm like, okay, cool, well, if Andy says my kind of game. And honestly, looking at it, it looks like my kind of game. I should finally give that give that a shot. And he even xenoblade, I kind of want to give a shot, but it's for me turning into a summer of pick which grp want to get into and right now soul hackers to you is kind of in the forefront of where my interest lays. I want to pick my switch back up. I want to get excited. But nothing is really screaming to me in that extent. So we'll see. Hopefully something comes up that gets me excited for the switch. Yeah, I mean, honestly, on the Nintendo side, I am just most excited for what is the Odyssey team working on? Since 2017, right? Like the DLC they put out for that game was so much more limited than I think any of us would have expected. There was a surge of DLC around that time for Nintendo what seemed like they were trying to start taking it seriously. And they ended up just putting out that balloon mode or whatever. We all thought that there was going to be like new kingdoms, right? And it just didn't happen. So I wonder what they've been working on. There was all those rumors of a 2D donkey Kong game that literally anything they're working on, I'm going to be stoked for. It's one of the most talented groups of people on the planet. But what are they doing? Where are they? Tim, do you know who else I wonder about? Ubisoft, specifically skull and bones and story number three, it seems like ubisoft will finally re reveal skull and bones this next month. It is claimed this comes from Andy Robinson at video games chronicle. Ubisoft will finally re reveal online pirate game skull and bones next month. It is claimed. That's according to writer Tom Henderson, who claimed on try hard guides dot com. That the publisher is planning to show gameplay and reveal details of the title's mechanics during the week of July 4th. That's next week. If true, this would represent the latest indication that the long in development title could finally be approaching a release date. Over the past month, stolen bones has been rated by boards in both Brazil and South Korea. Suggesting that it could arrive during ubisoft's current fiscal year, ending March 2023 as planned. There have been other potential signs that the game could be nearing completion, most notably via a leaked skull and bones video in April, which provided an overview of what players can expect. According to the 6 minute video, the game is set in a world inspired by the Indian Ocean during the golden age of piracy. Players begin their journey as an underdog whose goal is to become the most infamous pirate to sail the seas. Skull and bones was first revealed by ubisoft at E three 2017 with a release date set for the end of 2018. It was then delayed to 2019, then march 2020, then the fiscal year ending march 2022, then the fiscal year ending March 2023. Tim, school and bones, we've been waiting for it for 5 years at this point to come out, and it's just been, it's been going and going. You've been waiting for you. We've been waiting for it for 5 years, is a way to say that. We've known about this. We've known about its existence for 5 years. Yes, that is true. At this point, surprised that it's still happening? But it's also one of those things where it's been, I've been surprised that it still happening so long that it kind of just has to happen because too much money and resources was put into it. But wouldn't be surprised about this. It is weird where we didn't get any word from ubisoft during this summer game past season. The last couple of years we got those ubisoft forwards. And it was a while where we were getting multiple ubisoft forwards a year. And I think that the pandemic and the effects of everything have kind of caught up to them where we haven't gotten one in a while. I don't know if we got one this year, did we? This year, no. No, we got one last year. Yeah, I remember late her last year. But that's a while, right? For ubisoft to not have big announcements to make. Especially when you think that they were the last remaining big third party conference at E three and they were always the biggest third party conference, but if they had their moment, they had their shit to talk, they'd come out and show some stuff. But ubisoft always was dropping like 20 game announcements. And a lot of them were things we'd expect annualized versions of Assassin's Creed and just dance or whatever..

"This isn't the game that a few friends play and you guys talk about, but nobody else knows what the hell are you talking about? This is huge. Eldering is huge. It's only going to get bigger. This is just a start. Like we said, this is only for a few days. It's going to continue to sell. And what's really interesting is that on steam, I think last I looked at the second most played game on steam kit right now. It's at like 600,000 concurrence. That's putting it up with counter strike go. That's putting it up with lost ark, which was a huge, which is like, this is big. And it's only going to get bigger and I'm very curious to see what how from software handles this. You know, do they do they change there? Do they think about this at all? I got my gut says no, that they don't care. They don't give a shit. They just keep making the games they want to make. But that's another thing. I mean, I think the big question is, do you get an elder ring, too? If you ask me before leading into eldering before we were seeing these raw numbers, I would have said that, oh yeah, like after elden ring, you're going to get the reported armored core game and then maybe from software switches back to dark souls or maybe they go stack row two or maybe they finally revisit bloodborne, right? Like maybe we get one of those games or maybe they do another new IP because elder ring is working for them as a new IP. I think now that we're seeing eldering kill it like this, I think elder ring two is a lot more plausible, but from software is a developer that I think has done such a good job of charting their own path and not feeling like they have to be beholden to sequels. I know dark souls had like three dark souls games, right? But when you look at lately, their last three, their last three to four games, right? You're talking about bloodborne in 2015. You're talking about dark souls three. You're talking about sekiro and then you're talking about elder ring, right? Going from sekiro to elden ring, is already like that. Those are two new IPs back to back. And those are games that sekiro got game of the year at The Game Awards elder ring is probably going to get a lot of game of the game of the year. This year. And it's killing it in sales. Do you need to even worry about other ring to you? Can you just keep making games that are new that are fresh? Yeah, I think from software, this is a weird comparison, but they're kind of like Pixar. And they don't care about sequels. They make hit after hit with new IP and SQL. So their sequels do great their new IP does even better. They are consistently, you know, what people talk about these kind of games. You're always compared to from software. Like everyone's comparing that to from software when you're making these types of action open world hardcore RPGs. So yeah, I don't know. I think in some ways eldering doing so well kind of gives them, they can do whatever the fuck they want now. You know, they don't care. They can make bug port too. They can make elder ring two. They can make something we none of us can expect. So I've jumped into the eldering. You're kind of game. Not at all. That's fair enough. No, I love watching people talk about it because I love seeing people get excited about games, but I have no patience for these games and I understand that and I will never be able to play them and that's just where I am. But and that's only fair. And I'm not one of those people who says like, oh, elden ring is overrated. I'm not trying to say that. Anybody, it's more just that I tried playing dark souls and I tried playing bloodborne. I played them for about four or 5 hours and I was like, I get this and I just don't have the patience for this. Yeah, like every game's not gonna be for every person. No, guarantee. And it's not even hard or easy for me. It's literally just, I don't have the page for this. I died to a boss fight twice in her own like fuck this, I don't want to do this anymore. I just want to kill them. I don't want to have to like learn and get good. I can't do that. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I think the question for me ends up being like, what do I want from software next? Because I fucking love eldering, right? But I fucking love sekiro and I fucking love bloodborne. And you know, I still got to go back and finish demon souls. And now that I've seen elderly all the way through, I do want to go through dark souls, right? I'm kind of in that room right now. But in terms of what I was going to ask, do you want another open world from software game? Or do you want them to completely surprise you again? Do you want them to go completely different? That's a really good question. I think what I like about from software is that they continue to surprise me. The thing that the things that I love about bloodborne are different from the things that I love about sekiro and the things all about Sakura are different from the things I love about eldering. I love bloodborne for the world and the lore and I love for the combat mechanics and user gun to stack your enemies and get the visceral attack, right? Like I love that flow. Whereas sekiro, I'm all about the rhythm of it. I'm all about the boss fights. I'm all about how good and peer and fast and swift the combat is. But for elevating, I do like the open world exploration and I like that feeling of power when I'm able to make a build for my character that feels totally unique for me, right? And I think from software, the thing they've mastered is being able to lock in on what they want to be special about a game and totally carry it through with an amazing amount of quality. So in terms of what I want next, I don't know if I want them to revisit open world eventually. I don't know if I need that super soon, right? It seems like the next thing is going to be armored core. And I'm excited to see what they do for that. That might speak to me, it might not speak to me because I've never been an armored core person, but I'm excited to see what the modern day version of from software does with that. And at the very least, I'm going to check that out for sure. After that, I kind of want them to read. I want them to do fresh shit, right? And that could be in the case of, hey, now let's revisit sekiro and make another sekiro that is capitalizing all that swift combat or something brand new. I don't need them necessarily to keep doing open world over and over again. I was.

"And tell them it's going to be okay. If you're planning to trade an old apple gear toward new stuff, you should have been here last week, another piece for Mac rumors as Apple has dropped the maximum trade and prices for max. iPads and all but one of the eligible iPhone models, maximum trade and prices have not changed for Apple watch, according to the report. You may remember the first I fixed it tear down from the latest iPhones having a bit of bad news for third party display repair. We talked about this at the end of September. That's when Mac rumors had if exit saying that despite the decoupling of the face ID module and the display, any display replacement disables face ID. This means that screen replacements not authorized by Apple will result in non functional face ID components. At the same time, a piece from cult of max said that that was true even when the repairs were performed with parts made by Apple. I fix it wrote about this issue again last week. I didn't bother mentioning that because nothing had changed. Now it looks like something is about to. A piece from the verge explains the issue around the repairs and an upcoming fix according to that report. Soon after the iPhone 13 launched repair experts found that swapping out the iPhone 13 screens would break face ID unless you also moved over a tiny control chip from the original screen. It's a complex process that makes one of the most common types of repairs prohibitively difficult for independent repair shops. That will change. The report says Apple tells the verge it will release a software update that doesn't require you to transfer the microcontroller to keep face ID working after a screen swap. When Apple did not tell the verge, is how soon that software update will happen. That said, apple is working on updates all the time. Why just yesterday Apple hit with a slew of betas for developers? I download blogs as Apple at dev types in on betas for iOS, iPadOS and tvOS, 15.2 macOS 12 one and watchOS 8 three. Lots was written about a lot, including a hot button feature headed to iPhone and one assumes iPad. Apple insider says the Cupertino company is going ahead with one of its expanded protections for children plans. Apple announced three planned initiatives in August of this year, adding resources to Siri and surge to help fight child sexual abuse, spawning known child sexual abuse material or C Sam being uploaded to or stored in iCloud and eyeing photos sent to and from underage accounts for material that might be harmful or inappropriate. Not actually eyeing rather using machine learning or voodoo or something any way in the beta for iOS 15 two. It looks like they're moving ahead with that last one. According to Apple insider, apple's latest iOS 15 two beta has introduced a previously announced opt in communication safety feature designed to warn children and not parents when they send or receive photos that contain nudity. That not notifying the parents seems to be a change. Unlike the previously planned version of the feature, the piece as parents will not be notified if the system detects a message contains nudity Apple says this is because of concerns that a parental notification could present a risk for a child, including the threat of physical violence or abuse..

"Peace offerings and settlements between apple and developers won't stop congressional moves against app stores couple of weeks ago apple announced a proposed settlement with smaller developers. Perhaps the biggest concession offered by apple was the one that would let developers use communications such as email to share information about payment methods outside of their ios app. A few days later apple settled with the japanese government that settlement included a pledge to let reader apps such as net flex and spotify. "It's you know more power to it's fantastic but Again thanks for congratulations. Being our podcast of the month and you can tell why right. Oh yeah for sure. So mike okay i get this one quite a bit But they got one recently. So why can't i find my podcast in apple podcasts. Search and my. My answer usually is because apple podcasts. Search kinda sucks but in a better way. I'm going to say apple hardware company not really a search engine company but it can take a few days up to a few weeks for your show so up in search results and apple and also know that apple doesn't search your descriptions apple doesn't search your show notes. All apple searches when somebody comes to apple podcasts and searches for podcast is the title of your overall. Show the episode titles and whatever you put in the author tag. And here's the warning goes. Do not stuff your tags with keywords. Now you're episode titles is the most latitude you can have. So you can have pretty elaborate episode titles but The title of the show and the author tag. You just needed to the title and who you are ruvo's are But the whole idea is people usually go to apple podcasts or any other app already knowing the name of the podcast they will look for most of the time they hear about it because of google search friends whatever whatever they'll have a pretty good idea of the title and your show should show up fairly quickly by title in apple podcasts. As long as your title is not super generic you know But you know if you go there and search for podcast insider will show up. We may not be i in the search. Believe it or not but We'll show up and it just takes a little time so be patient when you're first starting out. The you know the search engines including google take a little while to to get all your information so those titles are important. The episode titles are important and of course having the correct author tag with your name. Only this is important as well. I gets picky about keyword.

Close to a unicorn like a big little unicorn now. Surprisingly reece's company did not get snatched up by hollywood or one of the combatants in the streaming wars. Yes knackers this is what jack and i find fascinating about the story because there were rumors. Apple would by reece's company for apple. Tv plus for a bunch of new content instead it was sold basically to an arms dealer was sold for nine hundred million dollars. Allegedly to former disney guys and some blackstone sharks were buying out the production house. So with this deal. Reese witherspoon enjoys a nice big payout and she could finally by that gorgeous house on the cliff from big little lies. I don't blame her. That's the lou. And the private equity giant blackstone can now start licensing out her incredible shows to the highest bidders. Jack are we going to see on netflix. And hbo max and amazon prime and peacock like an a bidding war for recess. Next movie doll forget paramount plus. And whoever else they're all gonna want research shows because they bring the eyeballs except for qube. So jack what's the takeaway for our buddies. Over reese witherspoon hello sunshine media acquisitions want the three cs content commerce and community knackers as variety. Just put it. The specific content of hello sunshine is clear complex contemporary american dramas now the community part of hello sunshine. It's a little more subtle but it's also important. Those complex contemporary american dramas are led by memorable female. Leads and tell women starts now the third see here if the commerce part. That is the secret sauce. That reese witherspoon brings. We haven't even mentioned reece's ethic cloud what are we doing which is a direct to consumer relationship with her enormous audience and it wraps together. Those three cs yes. It does content commerce community the three cs content bear the same reasons. Why spotify just acquired the call her daddy podcast and the three cs is wide. Lebron james is production. Company is rumored to be worth seven hundred fifty million dollars with a bunch of suitors brawn. James has a media start up. The three cs is what rees has. And it's why she just became nearly a unicorn for our third and final story. Do you want a hint by the way. Should we do a hint for the flag. Yeah the answer. The answer jack ready. It's so good honestly. Actually it could be a disney movie. Four third way story answer could be route square just made its biggest acquisition ever as beauty and the beast a flag for twenty nine billion dollars jack. Dorsey of square is getting a buy now. "Expert on audio and video big screen. Tv's surround sound so played a lot with spatial over the week because apple turned on only turned on spatial audio racial audio and lossless audio on apple music. So i for this purpose purchased a pair as we mentioned last week of apple's airpods max which is it only works with their those right now. Well that's the thing it doesn't they even say. It works with any headphones. Okay and i thought well maybe it'll work better on your the ones you recommended the sennheiser i e three hundreds of sounds great and what they did. If you're a subscribe apple music. They have they have a special into the brass section. They have a special track. Marvin gaye What's going on which they start mono and zane lowe who's the dj on apple Radio station says one says now you can hear it in mono mono now in stereo sounds. Great what we're used to but watch what happens when we go spatial so i think what happened because i there's a lot of music on apple music that's been remixed and what it really is a surround it's dolby atmos and and to remix it. You take the tracks and you put you know the trumpet in the upper left and the only the upper right little more sophisticated than that position the different instruments and the voices and so forth. And i hear it. And i can hear it on the airpods. Max i hear just as well on the sennheiser is i tried it. On the hi fi men high end those santamaria. Those grades great and i even tried it on a pair of speakers in with an none of this with adobe decoding stereo but just just taking from the apple. Tv and it still sounds. It's out you know. It's almost as big differences from monitor stereo from stereo to spatial similar. The instruments spread out even more sure. So there's more of a sound stage right. I don't know what kind of technology they're using to do that. Though i mean they're actually remixing it but are they remixing it will be atmos specifically or do they have their own format. That's a really good question. They call it dolby atmos so it must be. They'd get sued by dolby. Really they licensed but they'll be licensed aimed any old laptop so-called dolby atmos sound terrible so well it's a nice maybe nicely if they use the name dolby atmos. They have to pay dolby. Yeah although i have adobe not atmos but adobe decoding receiver plugged into my apple tv and it's still thinks it's stereo because here's the thing it doesn't use.

"Yeah I can't wait for the m based macbook pro higher end models and to be honest. You know. I've i've i've had the sixteen inch for a couple years and and i it's big it's heavy so what i'm wondering is whether the m one fourteen inch might end up having enough power since there's so much more powerful already than the sixteen inch i have. Maybe we could go down to fourteen inches. Tom what do you think. Oh no no no more screen size not less. I don't care about the way to your at your desktop that you're sitting right now you've got the big screen up top away from here sometimes and then. I missed that scream. I've been rocking the thirteen inch. Form factor with the pro. Now it's really my macaire which is which is my new m one map occur but that works for me but yes i get it when you have a certain screen size you want. That's what you want. But it's so heavy what. I am actually excited about strangely. Enough is mostly am one in all of these models but the idea of new form factors is really fun to me i. It's sort of like when the car companies used to add had fins to a car to make people buying again as you want people to know you have the new one. But i've got the two thousand nineteen in the twenty sixteen macbook pro and supposedly. The one is an inch bigger. It's really only about a half an inch bigger but they look exactly the same grabbed the one and it's running the wrong operating system because they got in two different places so i would love just to look different. I think that would be really fun. I love the idea of an upgradable mac pro. that was a smaller version. Like the mac pro mini. I think that that's could be. That could be really interesting. I was the upgradable. One that kept the intel processor in the old form factor. They show whether the new m one powered back-row that smaller would be upgradeable. What would make it a mac pro. Then it'd be like the old mac pro member the trash can the first one that do it. You don't you don't get you don't need to open so isn't a call. Domecq minivan no mac pro because it's got the higher level specks inside more more of it we haven't even touched on the idea of a foldable iphone. Allison is this something that you would want or is this is crazy completely. Don't want that. But but i'm always wrong so we should keep that in mind. I'm wrong about what people want. And then i'll turn out to go. It's the coolest thing ever teaming see quote. You're just you're usually wrong just raw. Yeah so well in in predicting what is what we need. I mean i am always telling people. I'm the one who said you never needed a bigger display than the five twelve k mac. You know it was like eight inches outside. I always say go. How could you need anything bigger than that. So i'm very curious about this idea that they would put more ports in there. That feels very anapa. Like i the fact they'd get rid of the touch bar makes perfect sense to me. Manx safe returning. I don't know how that works if you continue to do usb c. I don't want them to make the power report not be usb. So i don't know maybe an attachment that can come off without what i read it as stuff that apple has. Has you know kind of all in on that. I love the idea of saying..
