"Agenda. Running on vapors and broadcasting live from the heart of Texas hill country here in fema region number 6 in the morning, everybody. I'm Adam curry. And for northern Silicon Valley where we're all convinced that Major League Baseball is rigged. I'm John Cena divorced. It's Greg modern buzzkill. Didn't we already go through this? You just bang on the garbage can? Or is there a new rigging scandal I'm unaware of? What's that? About that? No, that's a ratchet. No, this is a, I don't know what the hell is called a vibra slap. A vibra slap. Yeah, somebody bought me a vibra slap. I said it by UPS. I never could find out who was. It sounds like something you're ordered from Adam and Eve. Vibra slap. There's a good one. You start today off of the great one liner. Yeah. It's because I love it. What's the virus? Is this? No. Okay, is that how they are rigging the games? It's used in, I guess, the Latin music. Sure. Miami sound machine. Gloria Estefan. No. No. All right, tell Gloria yourself. No, no, I'm saying no to your commentary. Oh, okay. All right. Well, short night for me last night. We got back at one from the big meet up in bastrop, Texas. Pay that long. Actually, I did. It was very hard to get away. If there's 250 people, four hours doesn't really give you time to talk to everybody, or at least try to talk to everybody. And everyone wants to talk to you. You want to report or you want to do some other stuff first. No. No, you want to report? No, yes, no, I want a report. Ah, okay. This was one of the most impressive knowledge in the meetups ever. There were 230 people had RSVP. That's when it was closed off and still probably another 20 came anyway. Sure, that's the way to do it. And it was at the homestead of sir Julian and dame Julian and was unbelievable. They had, this was an old wedding venue they bought, and so they decided to turn that into their home, but they still have the pavilion. They've got a stage. They've got his and hers, toilets, them and theirs. Really fresh, completely new, all really nice. It's just chickens running around. It's meet up John. There were kids that were dogs there was everything and we had to RSVP. The dogs not have to RCP. Mackenzie Kelly are city council woman from Austin. She came. How is she? She's. She's funny. She's first of all, she has a boot because something happened with her foot during some political. She's hobbling around and she vapes, which is, and you know what she's a bit like she reminded me a bit of the kind of Ann Richard style politician. Yeah, Texas. And she can drink. So she had a good time. There were people that I hadn't seen in 7 or 8 years like my Cherie, who is, I don't think if we ever talked about her, but I know her from way back in the day in the early spin class days, and farmer Chris do you remember farmer Chris? We used to see with the eggs at the farmer's market. Yes, yeah, the farmer's market guy. Yeah. I was just, oh my God, farming, he said he's never stopped listening. And he heard that we're going to be in bastrop so he came over. And of course, first of all, or second of all, third, meet and greets. You've done them. I'm not talking about meetups, but meet and greets. Usually when you're meeting and on this case, I'll say fans. It's a huge energy suck. You know, at the end, just like, oh, I'm so drained from all these people. But with no agenda. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, but nobody bitches about it. Well, if you do a lot of them, you're like, oh, I'm so tired of it. Yeah, of course, people bitch about, hey, baby. I've been on the road, okay? I know what it's like. But I know agenda meet up. It's exactly the opposite. People are giving you energy, and it's just such good energy. Now here's a couple of things I learned, or just some people I met, we had the husband and wife, she's a traveling nurse. I guess they sold everything at the beginning of the pandemic bought a class a RV, and I think they made a $1 million just going around to all these hospitals. 200, $300 an hour, $5000 signed a bonus. They'd just been taken advantage of it. The traveling nurses. Yes, traveling nurses. We also have in our producer set a Medicaid fraud detective. I don't think that's exactly the right. We need more of those. And she was telling me that just one small hospital system, like just unbelievable amounts of money because of fraud of putting COVID on, but also they had these scams where it's like oh, yeah, she's got to have the best story. And I hope she hopefully she's going to write in with a couple more. They bring someone in $1500 if you Mark COVID if they're if they come into the emergency room and then they'll send them out back into the outpatient where they get another 800 bucks or something. This is like double dipping on the patients. So thank goodness there's people like her. Going after that crap. Yeah, thank goodness there's people like her, there's not enough people like her. I agree. This is typical of enforcement. But at least she's making some difference. I was happy to hear that. Then I met the couple who were in bastrop who's pretty much their whole house, everything got burned in the big fire, 7, 8 years ago. Do you recall big bastrop fire in Texas? Maybe a little bit longer than that actually. They've been they've been producing the show for a long time. And they were one point that were selling wood from around their home, which turned out to be quite lucrative for them. And then they started a pool business. A small pool business. And this was going really well until February. The snowmageddon where everybody's everybody's pipes broke, of course, because that's not a typical freeze for Texas. So they were doing really well until, and this is important. There's no more chlorine. Only in California is there still chlorine available, nowhere else in the United States and no one can get it. Seems like a big problem to me. Yeah, yeah, it seems kind of phony Bologna too if you think about it. Well, he said, please tell John because he's going to say it's phony Bologna. He's right. Please tell John because we can't get chlorine. It's impossible to get chlorine. So what is going on? Well, Noah has gotten to the bottom of it. Why do you think it's phony Bologna? Because why does California the only place he has it? I don't know. Do you guys have to make it? Apparently there was a chlorine plant somewhere maybe Texas or Louisiana and with one of the hurricanes it got destroyed, but since then, there's been kind of rough to get maybe it only comes in from China in through California. How about that? I'm.

You know, this has been covered on that. Like twice Now this week, Mackenzie Kelly interviewed on Fox and friends and, you know, actually tweeted out. You know this. This is a you know, she's a strong woman. She's independent. I've have no doubt that she can protect herself if need be. But you know, there is a woman count Councilwoman out there being harassed and all the other women on counselor and Adler Co star as well or not standing up and saying, Hey, this is this is wrong. They're not okay. Finally. Absolutely. I tweeted out. And I finally got some responses from Leslie Blue and Kathy to Bo. And I mean, you know, they say they stand with Mackenzie Kelly and that that Dave You know there and of course condemn and you die, one else rest of violent. What else are they going to say? Well, right, exactly, But if we, someone standing up and they said they've talked to the manager and you know the man who should be on it, Who knows exactly what But to me all of that even tweeting at me of all people. I appreciate them reaching out, of course and responding, But it's so it's almost too little too late. We really need Them to put pressure all the council willing to put pressure on Adler and kiss our guests are especially because it homes in handcuffs and if he said a back down I bet that they would, or at least they would miss And I think they're more likely to listen. You know, you're right. They are his foot soldiers. He and Mayor Adler have donated thousands of dollars to the house. You know the home cuffs, you know, not home cuts, homes. Whatever that group is, but they're actually armed down there. Now they got their own security patrolling it. Just it just seems what I see. It's City Hall Looks like the early days off Portland. You know Seattle and some of those real hardcore places where they have fires and explosions every night and constant. Battles with the police. It looks like the early days of that to me right now in Austin City Hall. Well, I don't think that stuff's gonna fly in Texas. And I think you and I both know why. But they, you know it. Really. It really needs to come from, you know, I know the Adler doesn't technically have a whole lot more power than anybody else. But he was the figurehead of the city was you need to come out and say something. The sorrows? Well, you know, at the very least, you know, I don't know, Arthur. We have the same thing with Mackenzie Kelly. She's fighting. She's fighting hard. But man, it doesn't feel like much of a team down there. Does it now. Exactly. It is 9 41 and one everybody. Yeah, that's the 10 1 right there. She's the one. She's all alone. It seems like No, but you know what? He's right. I'm surprised the grand CAS. Our Mayor Adler have not said something about the aggressive nature that some of these homeless people have been taking. You know, they they're trying to take over City Hall is what they're doing. Now we sadly would joke that we're the machete capital of Texas City of Lawson lets him do whatever they want. We have people in a citizens are less think for ourselves right now. McKenzie. This is a battle between the camping band versus Free speech. At least that's the way it's being portrayed as you look more of video of our own. Lawrence Jones touring the scene there in Austin, Texas, But how long can this whole situation go on before somebody or multiple people get really seriously hurt or worse? Hopefully it ends soon. I've been told by the city manager that the free speech zone will not go away until August. 8th. My problem with that is that this has happened before. During the occupy movement 10 years ago, Our City Council ensured that there was no overnight camping on the property. My biggest concern here is for safety. These people are armed with machetes. They have metal pipes. They have sticks, walkie talkies, and they're returning bulletproof vest. That's Mackenzie Kelly on Fox early this morning. Your thoughts. "To Austin Police officers break open the window, pulling the man out just seconds before another explosion. This man definitely has a PD to thank for his life today. That was in Austin Fire official there at the end. Yeah. Officers Chandler Correra and Andy Pineda. Thank you. They smashed the window and they were able to reach inside, unlock the door and pull this unconscious man to safety Moments later, that truck just blew up that man treated at a local hospital. Amazing. Yeah, It's truly amazing. And the story doesn't end there. The story does not end there with these two police officers there. Their heroism did not end there. Sources tell News Ready, Okay, LBJ that these two officers moments later responded to a call there. The Onion Creek area They applied Attorney Get to a shooting victim. A man that was shot in the head. He also survived. Both of these victims in these incidents would have died on the scene. That man would have burned to death in that truck. That man would have bled to death there with that gunshot wound and Onion Creek. But these two police officers quick think He rose, putting their life on the line were able to save them. You know, it's unfortunate that we have to talk about this, like it's some unusual story, like like this is just some incredible Yes, I mean, in and of itself. It is what the bravery what these guys do every single day that this This is a great example of that. But it's unfortunate that they were talking about this like this is this really unusual story out of nowhere. This is what these guys do, and this is what is not reported. E Nough Challenge Austin Mayor Steve Adler to hold a press conference and offer these these two men the key to the city and praise them with a medal or something. I challenge Mayor Steve Adler to do that. He won't do that. Because he had He's too busy supporting the D funders of police in our community and supporting criminal behavior to you know, the tent city around City Hall. So we got people illegally camping on city Hall grounds, a crime. Threatening public officials and admitting that they have weapons and city leadership. So okay with this, it just seems things are getting close to getting out of hand around Austin City Hall. You got these homeless protesters surrounding the building. They have now formed their own armed security Watch program. WTF? Yeah, the same group threatened McKinsey. Kelly on camera. And it's something that will lead to these folks finding a home finding their way back into society being contributing members of society being taxpayers and living a very fruitful, productive life with a bright future. But my first concern just to be completely honest is that I don't have to look at it anymore. And I know I know that was the goal. I know the goal was to put it in our face so we could see it. And somehow, Mayor Adler and costs are in the light. Thought that was going to fix everything. And it didn't More than 50% of the main first election votes were in favor of Proposition B. "We'll find out how many Americans got new jobs. Last month, Americans listening to Fox News Tail VJ news time is 702. Good morning I'm Mark Caesar. Big pushback from the community and requests from elected officials for a delay were not enough to stop the Austin City Council from voting to spend $9.5 million on a hotel to house the homeless. It's the Candlewood Suites at 6 21 83. Councilman Greg Hussars says that price tag is not too high, even though its value to 2.7 million how much folks talking about This cost us the money upfront. Getting people in the permanent supportive housing saves US. Tens of thousands of dollars per person on Lee Council member Mackenzie Kelly voted No one buying that hotel. The City Council also wants to ban camping at four locations around the city. Several residents condemned the so called hell initiative. Among them is Caleb Todd, homeless advocate who says fears of these camps are unfounded and 55. £120 soaking wet. I worked in these camps for eight months. I At one point I had to stop delivering after dark because I was scaring people. Those opposed to the initiative say this is a step closer to re criminalization. The city says once people in those designated areas are connected to housing and services. Camping will not be allowed there. Once again. Patrick Osborne News, Radio K L B J You know the thing that bothers me the most about all of this. Want one, You know that the City Council has made the homeless crisis worse. There's no doubt about that. But they've also done a really good job of controlling the narrative. And if you're against any portion of their ideas, they need you. You obviously hate human beings, and you're a bad Christian. I'm sure going through withdrawal on one side are completely on the opposite into this, and that is unfair. And that is not accurate. And that is not gonna help get people off the streets. When they need it. The most. The criticism is, is your approach to solving this problem? Not that we need to solve the problem. We all want to get people off the streets and inhumane to allow him to be there. It's not safe and they need to be. You know, they need to have a safe place to live. What do you see? Kind of get so angry that they raise the property value and raise the taxes on that that you're gonna have to pay right taxpayer? That's it. That's a possibility, isn't it? I'm glad they're doing this. They need to do this because again, I think this is the city officials handled this in a very, very aggressive way. It was almost like the more opposition to this, the more motivated they were to do it versus listening to the taxpayers listening to the citizens. "I super seriously. What's on your mind? Yes. Hi there. I just wanted to congratulate Mackenzie Kelly. Um I just hope that the City Council Isn't bullish tow her like they were tol in. I remember a few different times when Alan was there that They were really not nice to her, and it was very upsetting Talyn and I hope that doesn't happen because I think Mackenzie has some really good ideas and needs to be heard. She's got great ideas. She's pushing back against that de funding of police and she's gonna help. You know, she got some really great ideas when it comes to her homeless crisis, But I don't want to go easy on her. This city council going tough on Ellen Trucks, Claire made her tough. She showed how strong of Ah political force she truly is. And Mackenzie Kelly is that as well. She can. She could stand her own stand on her own 2 ft, and she'll be just fine. Susan, You're not to worry about that. She's not gonna be pushed around by this city counts definitely has her work cut out for that's for sure, but thank goodness. Thank goodness we got somebody in there. Listen, we have all kinds of stories all across the country. Oh, by the way, let's give him some business news business. "And now I want to make every day better these air quality of life issues that we're facing here in Austin and I have a proven track record of standing up in advocating for the community in my work as a firefighter, but also as president, take back Boston. But let me throw some typical questions. Action. Just get your reaction Project connect property is on the ballot beginning next Tuesday. Actually, when early voting begins here in Austin, it would raise our property taxes. Some 25%. What is your general thoughts on Proposition a project connect. I'm absolutely against that. I think it's a slap in the face for taxpayers tohave to put that burden on their property taxes, especially in the middle of a pandemic. When most people are telecommuting works from home. I think that it is not going to win because if the tax there is really look into it, they'll see that there is no benefit, especially in district sticks for residents have to bear that burden. Do you think about de funding police? That's obviously been a hot issue of this past month. 67 months or so. Just your thoughts. Right. So I graduated from the 14 weeklong often Police Department Citizens Police Academy, and I have a very deep understanding of how the police Department operates. After taking that we need public safety in our community. It's paramount and one of the most important things that they need to be able to do. Their jobs properly is funding and with funding, they could get better training. We can audit the hiring practices and make sure that there It is possible reforms that occur good points. Now the homeless crisis that's one of the bigger issues in our city as well. How would you solve that? I think that it's really important for the people who are experiencing homelessness to be able to get access to the resources that they need, and when they're spread all across the city, and no one knows exactly where they are. It's hard to get them to those services and identify the needs so that we can compassionately and safely lift them up out of their situation. I think it's important. Tio Tio identify the needs of those that are experiencing homelessness. But also to make sure that they're in space and sanitary conditions. And right now we're not doing that Our council made knee jerk reactions and they didn't have solutions for the homeless before they allowed them to camp everywhere.
