"You're still starting him. But i don't wanna see him get hurt and miss several weeks. Let them miss the bills game. We've we've been planning for this. You know he got hurt in the game last week. So you kind of had this expectation of him. Not being out there. So i'd rather. I'd rather have him for the long haul than short-term one thing i will add going back to one note that you said adam rashad. Bateman didn't practice today. Yeah harbaugh said nothing. Nothing serious and you expect him to play. But you know worth worth noting with sammy watkins. He's coming back devante. Parker meanwhile is listed as doubtful. He is not going to play against houston so with that and the to kind of hand injury. he's gonna play. But this is obviously one of the waiver wire priorities at quarterback. Chris still confident into it sung by low against houston. Yeah yeah he had a couple of games without devante parker when he came back from his injury. So i i don't think that's necessarily Some then be too concerned about. Obviously you'd like more devante. Parker would was playing. But mike mike is. He has stepped up really well. When devante parker jalen waddell Is still a solid option. I i think to tangle is still a top twelve quarterback for me. Okay i guess just to throw out a name for super deep leagues. I have my scotfish boy. Have to so such bad wide receivers i mean as mac holland's the guy to look. I didn't have a good game in london. When parker was he. Didn't he added. Touchdown against the falcons the following Preston williams though we know was Was a healthy scratch last week. He's kind of owning up to his mistakes. I guess on dogs in media saying it's on me whatever for whatever that's worth whatever the issue is going on with him and brian flora's so maybe he's the guy but i i'm with you. I look at my collins. I but you gotta be really. Yeah okay let's see. Aj brown was not seen at the open portion of practice on friday..

"That combination is probably going to change going into this week. Talking about benching solomon kinley at left guard. They're talking about moving austin jackson cigar talking about moving robert hans liam berg coming in as another starting spot somewhere. So seems like that's gonna move so in terms of exact match up. I can't exactly tell you what i will tell you. Is that in terms of whoever's at tackle no one's been good enough and swiping nervous about Carl massive and max crosby because two of them have looked pretty Pretty solid through two weeks. They certainly Throughout each of their careers have been able to dominate games. So that tackle versus deanne matchup is something. Dolphins fans should worry about raiders. Fans should be. While tell you what i i'm sorry for you but i i gotta be honest here. I kind of like what you're saying here just but I'm just curious about what's been the issue front for. The dolphins is it like lack of investment dry pictures. Not panning out. Free agent signings not working or combination of both like how is that. What's been the crux of the issue. Go on dolphins twitter and everyone will have a different experience for you because it seems to be everything but it's certainly not lack of draft capital investment. I mean the offensive line is. It's a first round pick. it left. tackle there's two second round picks fighting for starting spots. There's a fourth round pick right now in a starting spot and third round pickers in starting spot. What seems to be. The issue is lack of identifying guys. We're going to develop the next level and lack of development. Once these guys are picked there were dolphin. Fans who felt like the team waited a little too long and picked a mid tier tackle. Let's say if you go back to austin jackson's class tristen worse has been stellar. Generic wills has been stellar mci becton when healthiest been stellar and. Then they waited instead of moving up and getting the guy. That's certainly an issue number looking left. Sacramento's was austin. Jackson has been one of the worst tackles in the nfl. He was nicked eighteenth overall just a year ago. So that's a problem in my opinion also not enough Frigid capital caprice Resources are going into the life. And i totally understand that when you look at free agency generally the best lineman make it that far but you look at. It seemed like kansas city. And they're making it work anyway right. They traded for orlando brown. Who went and spent money on veteran guys who've been able to plug and play. Miami has not done that has had the ability to do so. So you can look at any number of factors and say that's the reason the lines not working out but lack of commitment in free agency and lack of ability to go up and get a premier asset instead of one of the mid tier draft assets is are probably the two big ones on my mind and one other thing i point out is that it's really young. It's a really really young o. Line you'd have three guys who are second year players and one guy who hasn't played center since two thousand sixteen is now the starting center and so when identifying blitzes and things like that you know it could just be an obviously dolphins fans hope is that just needs more time but we'll see we'll you bring up the awesome jackson's options attack class. I'm curious i know it's early but is there any little bit of regret about taking jalen water over penny soule out man. I was just talking about today. I maybe maybe maybe pursual has looked great for detroit right golf at a lotta times throw yesterday in the first half That being said. I'm very confident. That jalen waddell is going to be very good football player for a very long time. I mean this this is a guy who has all the talent in the world. He really does you saw. I don't know if you remember. There was leaked clip jacksonville's war room when they were doing some of the draft promotion. They had him as the highest graded gun the board next the driver ones so no because i think dealing models that talented but kinda. Because i'm seeing few. I get thrown to the ground and have bruce ribs because he doesn't have any protection and that they took kinetic sewell. You'd see mac holland. Starting outside right now in dolphins fans would be saying. why didn't we invest in more wide receiver. So it's a bit of a double edged sword but it's certainly tough to see goff had tons of time and to restaurants because there's no protection. Yeah definitely is a catch twenty two. So i'm just curious. No before we move on you. Know what about the rushing attack. I mean obviously the past block is going to stand out a little bit more because it is a it is a passing league and that's what people are talking about but i'm curious you know. Are they better against the run or about the same. No what is that. How does their ground game attack Work work upfront. Miami's offense still yet. Miami's offense like houser offensive line performed as well loggers a little bit better Running lanes has certainly been a little bit better than than Pass protection but that's not a high bar there. It's not saying a whole lot. There's not enough push certainly in the interior right. Now as we'd like to see. I'm he doesn't have Superstar running back maoz gaskin Certainly serviceable in shown plenty of flashes so There is not enough particularly in the short yardage ground game. We saw several times against buffalo. Where miami just needed a couple of yards for a first down on a third or fourth and they tried to run it and there was just no push the guys in the backfield right away so not a whole lot better. I know that the raiders delighting you know. A lot of the names are on the edge But you still have some capable players there in the middle. You talk about a guy like jonathan hankins right. So they might be. You guys might have the edge with the interior to the whole the whole brooklyn hive. Miami's offense i. The raiders defense probably goes to las vegas at this point. Unlike when i hear. I know it's bad news for you moved other presents. We'll go i am what's what's up. Well let's talk about some of that. Some of the offense of weapons. The skilled guy from miami when know brought up jalen y waddles. Let's start with him. I'm a big draft nuts. So i'm just kinda curious how you doing early on in the season as his. He already a big enough piece. Miami's offense that raider fans should be worried about him. He's been as advertised. He's been playing. Each game is played between sixteen. Eighty percents of the snaps from week once a week to and when you get the ball on his hands meant he is dangerous he really is. There is i. Think one drop at some point in new england but then he made up for it right away with a highlight reel catch. And he's not just give screen and hope he gets fifteen yards. There was one of these twenty five twenty yards downfield where he just went up over the cornerback in and took it down so he's been as advertised. I've been really excited. And i hope they get the ball as many times as possible You know when you look elsewhere on the receiver core demonte parker's still as solid as they come. You're talking about one of those fifty. Fifty contested catch guys in obviously is a headline for the dolphins fans will fuller who miss week one finishing suspension. And then we do with a personal matter is apparently now back with the team. I wouldn't be surprised if he's on a bit of a pitch count just because he barely practiced with miami hit an injury during training camp. But you put him in there. And then parker waddell fuller. That's dolphins fans have been salivating for all season long so in terms of skill positions. Miami's wideouts pass. Catchers raiders secondary. I think it probably give the edge edged. Mammy especially when you start throwing in mike seki you know one of the top lee making tight ends in the nfl in there. There's a lot to work with so long as there's time to throw we bring up devante parker and so i just have a question for you. Does he catch anything other than like go..

"You know this was up and down. He made plays also made some some mistakes. But the arm like like zach wilson's arm. You must have been excited seeing the two-third just like seeing the arm. Strength from zach wilson. Right on the money is awesome to see these guys you just. You can't really teach that trae. Lance was the same trae lands probably had the most ups but that was another one that was good to watch 'cause like their offense couldn't block anybody and i think it was a reminder to john lynch. Hey we don't necessarily have to start trae lance five. I think he had seven drives and they had about four or five down so he made some really good plays but he got killed in that game like he got. She's really hard line out there right. He got hit really hard three or four times though. If your first of all he's got to try to avoid taking some of these hits and then secondly if you're a forty niners coacher gm it's like well. that's why we keep jimmy garoppolo. No matter what 'cause like one of those could go the wrong way and it was a little scared. What josh johnson. Who was picked up by. The jets is a veteran to put that qb room. He's been on thirteen teams in fourteen years. How about that kind of goes under the radar. How long he's been around even if he's never stuck anywhere. He called wilson special and he said it reminds them aaron rodgers. So listen that doesn't mean it's gonna be aaron rodgers. But he has that unique arm town. That's why the jets fell in love with him and to hit to them. Was the clear number two after trevor lawrence. How about you mark. I take a look at the. I wanted to see what was going on with. Two and i saw a different to some degree. He threw a bit of a killer interception at the end he tossed it into double coverage in the end zone. But i saw more decisive throws i would go look at a rope through to. Mike is sticky. Who is going to be awesome. This season he was good last year too. But then he had throat a mac holland's classic super right into tight window. I thought it showed guts decisiveness stuff. We weren't seeing last year and and it's hard to tell what that offense is going to look like. We know it's different because we've talked to people close to the team on that one but it's going to be deeper throws it's going to be more aggressive and i think that it was a good first step for to if you're a dolphins fan you've been concerned about kind of where he's at mentally and stuff. He looked sharper to me. He looked like he was ready to go. And you made a couple of great throws they had well. My lower back on the field will fuller hasn't practiced like all of training camp earlier. Texans fan devante. Parker has been banged up most of training camp. That's sounds familiar. It's like they want to get those guys back on the field but will fuller agree. Nothing and i'm willfuller fan as a player. He's always been a little underrated but frustrated. He finally stayed healthy last year. And i was like. Oh but he didn't finish the season he had a pd bus. So it's like. Did he stay healthy because he was on. Pd's i we don't know but the fact that he's gone right back to having injury issues yeah to was on my list to mark because he had a three and out and then he completed eight straight passes and the koseki passes a beautiful touch pass that went for fifty yards as you mentioned. It is a shame that his day ended on the interception. Because if he if he doesn't make that mistake any punches the ball in to is a major talking point this week about how big is is but if you watched it you see the positives there they outgained chicago. Two hundred and fifteen yards seventy nine in the first half. And i just loved them. Jake brisket comes in and it's like a reminder. Oh yeah smart. Smart move by the dolphins ryan fitzpatrick. Let him go elsewhere and get a really steady non-glamorous backup in there. So two can be completely free of any of that concern i. I just think he's being set up. Well i don't know about the co offensive coordinator. And i still even after we talked to campbell for new. Nfl network reporter. That does a lot of dolphins coverage. I didn't come out of that conversation. Feeling like oh they have this figured out. Because they're still gotta be somebody the batman to the rob and then somebody god see. I think not that it makes a huge difference from pretty sure. God sees the one. We'll see the nugget about capping to in corona time the the culture without their defensive coordinator this weekend because he was some sort of corona scenario. Going on so. I would maybe have to of every coach. Just double that staff pay for it and well but then what happens is if you get to of every coach follow along here mark at the team facility of sudden you have double the people and the whole reason you have to of. Every coach is because corona virus. And now you've doubled the capacity of your building. I mean maybe you just that defeats the purpose you ever think about that. In times of the delta variant. Mike did didn't follow it through to its final conclusion. But it's not. I wouldn't be a natural to have kind of the one coach home on zoom doing stuff on your physical body with us. That's they got to bella checks in new england that mullah that you tweeted out looking good. I'm just eve so if anything happens he's committed to it. I'll give them that. What else i'll throw out. One of the broncos offense that i really thought caja handler and then especially devante williams have so much juice and this was a west. Ism the seasons all about like the rookie running backs. 'cause they more than anyone they they are all about the eye test japan davila williams was my favorite running back coming in to this draft and just seeing him behind that offense such a perfect zone like cutback runner. You could see the vision. You could see the explosion. That is an awesome one. Two punch with melvin gordon. Who's banged up again. And it's good to have someone with him i think. Melvin gordon weirdly underrated at this point and like you can just tell giovanni williams is going to be a player and caja handler. He's a light guy but he in theories their fourth receiver. And i mean he is got jets. That had the eighty yard touchdown. There's another couple of plays there. Where like here's someone..

"I always liked starting the season like week one with a division rival because they just sets a good tone if you win that game and also really devastating if you don't so i kind of high stakes that but ultimately went with week seven in two thousand seventeen you'll super bowl season surprise. I picked another game from that season where they won by a score of thirty four to twenty four. I wasn't there at the link in person for this game. Rj in i think this is like carson wentz's signature performance like. He was incredible that night. A deep bomb touchdown to mac holland's he had that crazy touchdown throw which i think is arguably his best. You could argue. It's the miles sanders. One the washington but this one was in philly and he was like getting crunched by multiple defenders and. I don't even know how he makes us throw but somehow he throws it up there in corey climate makes a great leaping cats in the corner Front right corner of the end zone like it was incredible that he made that cats and was also the game where he escaped from that pile of bodies to run for a first down and the broadcast thought. He got sacked for a second. Wasn't it was awesome for box. I i remember that vividly now. Yes it was yes. I believe it was so funny. Washington youth washington. Something about that on monday night. Football yeah there is dislike that really crystallized to the Wins like is the mvp at that point in this like the. He's doing things that are like incredible. That are like breathtaking. I remember being there. And seeing that corey touchdown. And i was like. This is like the most amazing sports thing i've ever seen in personally. It was incredible so obviously has an age while since then era but very much gone now but at the time like that was. I was so excited. This is interesting. This is like yeah like a frozen moment in time not as emotionally jarring the giants when a few weeks earlier. But i get this like because so much of the identity of that season was carson wentz. Which again is so funny looking back. And this like cement in his place because at that point. Look thinking back. There was no real contender. I remember watching that game to be like crap just like this. This sucks like the our worst nightmare is really coming to fruition. Here carson wentz. Is this great player. Whatever etcetera etcetera and the fact that it was washington was kind of meaningless. It was just like. That's that's the the crunch plays i remember. That's why i. Because i i remember that being football because like you remember those plays forever when they don't involve your team. I remember thinking like man this dude the the like stupid stuff is working for him and those are the truly special players so another excellent choice by that. But you're right did not age. Well that's why he was the mvp though. And i wrote about at the time. It's not like he's posting. Anyone in theory can post like really good stats like like what separates him from other players posting really good stats like. He's doing incredible things that no one else is doing. Like this is amazing. So i would. I would add the aesthetic element to it. And i would say meaningful to because it was like you know. I talked about the user to got their monkey off the back without win in week. One but like to beat washed in then twice was like ok. Not only did we end the streak. But now we're building the streak in. That felt good. And and for kirk cousins who again. I was never. I've never been a fan of very Not secret opinion of mine. It was confounding. Because like i knew he wasn't good but like us can beat him so that was always frustrating so the beat him again was nice. That's look i dunno. Kirk is fine. There's no need to take side shots at kirk here. I do want to say in defense. Anyone listening that in case you didn't listen to last week's episode number one. Shame on you but number two. We did stipulate that these games have to come over the last decade Which is why biaggi. I assume you did not pick the two thousand ten game between philly in washington which incidentally i believe also was on monday night football. Michael vick wanna correct yeah. We're talking about alzheimer's that's in play. We're talking about alzheimer's. Obviously a miracle at the middle lanes to as it's called kind of incorrectly with sean jackson against the giants. Some very obvious fakes in those regards. But but not in our qualifier of the last ten seasons which goes back to the twenty eleven season. What's your pick. Well i'm gonna say my pick builds but you know we have to keep the lights on so you know what if you don't mind working in the dark crawling in the dark. "That was a good question. Bazooka job by you. Could that freestone thanks. i would say like somalia. john stoneless obviously. I'll be doing. You've talked to before kind of from lake of virginia area so hit for him. It might be washington because he lives in that area. So i definitely get the point on that. Speaking of washington your yeah. Your favorite eagles went over washington. This is the one. I was fascinated to hear if i'm being honest with you. Yeah it's not like. I don't think it's a no brainer. I don't think you there isn't like like you had to pick this giants game like you couldn't if you're bidding other giants game you'd be wrong. That was the answer on this one. I think there's some more room for debate. I will get into the honorable. Mentions i guess i to build up the reveal. Some people will probably say it's kelly's first game two thousand thirteen week one. Does that was big. Like oh my gosh like. We've never seen this before like this offense a revolution that you'll see him out really fast paced and they were like right as monday. Night football broadcast. I couldn't keep up like they're trying to show but they couldn't. They didn't know how to handle chip kelly. Because i just kept running the next play so that was kinda cool You know michael bake was there. That was fun Also I would put ending. The eagles are the ending their five game losing streak to washington when they had that Win over them in week. One of two thousand seventeen and stephen means a hill dumped a gatorade cooler on doug. Peterson lake the game itself. I guess wasn't like it couldn't be the number one but that was kind of a significant moment as like all right. We finally got the monkey off her back with washington. This feels good I personally. In professional sports. We know that's LeBron James. So the ass there is plenty to talk about, and plenty to discuss in the end. Be a world now last week Outside of everything that was going on in the Super Bowl. I had an amazing time. If you're not familiar for years, I have worked with special Olympics just to increase. Diversity just to increase inclusion among sports, You know, for people with and without intellectual disabilities, I believe everybody should have a chance to feel accepted to feel welcome. So last week we had on amazing guest adults and rise in ER. Of the Denver Broncos joined us If you're a fan of the W W we, Bianca Bel Air won the women's royal Rumble. She joined us A. We spoke to Alex Singleton. If you're not familiar with Alex Singleton, this guy had more than 100 tackles basically out of nowhere for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a bright spot. For the Philadelphia Eagles. And then I spoke to another special Olympics participant. That's Nic K Would. He was here with us last week with Mac, Holland's wide receiver from the Miami Dolphins, knickers from Pennsylvania. He's a big Eagles fan. He also works on the management side in his community. He helps manage the local football team on a high school level, and I had to start off with Alex. And this is something that is near and dear to his heart. I asked him why is special Olympics? Important to him? Yeah, you know, it started, you know, just obviously with my sister. It's something that you know my entire life. You know, I've been a part of, you know, luckily No, I couldn't be more thankful to as I've moved on in my career. And you know, I've been able to go more places that I've gotten to be more involved with. You know, pretty much every of city that I've been in to be affiliated with them and you know to be able to give back to so many. So many different individuals and groups at the same time. Absolutely, And he said the cut his teeth and the CFL. Now he's a member of the Eagles, and my guy said he hits everything that moves is that adversity but Yeah, that's him around. You know, I would first and foremost, my family that would probably obviously my team. The longest are the ones that, you know, Pick me up every time of the airport and, you know, draw me back off for the next opportunity. Just the people involved. That team you know, wherever you go it, Xev. Same kind of people, the people you want to be around the motivate you to be better. Listen with some of these moves at the Eagles have made Yes, I am also a proponent for Nick a wood getting that job for anyone who's not familiar. Mac Holland's used to play for the Eagles before he went down. So Miami I asked Nick, Why do you like Mac Hollins? That's what he said. He cares about us. And he's a great guy to be around. And Eve. He has good hands, too. He has good hands. I mean, that's why he's out there playing with to its song of a lower and to Ataka below, it doesn't even know he's gonna be the quarterback. Long term. I asked Mac about that. Okay, You got good hands. You're taking care of the business with special teams. I asked Mac on his thoughts, playing with two it tongue of a lower I think it's great, You know, obviously, that's the that's the big talk is whenever you draft a quarterback, we don't win the Super Bowl. He's not good enough, and there's always something wrong with him and he's a great player. He's gonna continue to grow and continue to get better. I'm excited for his future as a player, and hopefully, you know, I'll be catching a few more balls room. Listen, Listen, folks, We just spent a lot of time talking about all of these rumors. Quarterbacks going here, Quarterbacks going there. We'll see how that turns out. But one thing I know for certain Special Olympics isn't going anywhere. As I said they hold events throughout the course of the year, they getting revved up and warmed up for their winter World games the beginning of next year and Russia. Let's stay tuned on that. This is both Nick and Mack on talking about how special Olympics Was special to them. I love being a part of the team and I couldn't see my friends and I get to play sports like everyone else. "Thank you for listening to Keyshawn J Woman Zubin this past year and also in 2021. 10 of 12 from this distance. This year, all the South pic is up and it's good God, you're good are gonna win this game with one second left. It's Miami. 26 Raiders 25. I hope you did not go to bed tonight. Until this was over If he did shame on you, because in the last seven minutes of the Raiders and Dolphins, after frankly more than 3.5 quarters of Just sleepy football. The Raiders and Dolphins put on a show and the Raiders ended up putting on the better show by tossing it all aside in spectacular fashion. It is game night on ESPN radio Cris Carlin. Jeff Dickerson has always presented by progressive insurance and all guests will join us via the Shell Pennzoil performance line, and I'll tell you what, Jeff When you watch a game like this, you can think back to about four or five different things that went wrong for the Raiders to lose this game, whether it was Daniel Carlson missing an extra point when they took a 20 to 16 lead, whether it was Jon Gruden, opting to take a knee to milk more time off the clock, as opposed. To scoring a touchdown and leaving more time on the clock late and thus not taking as many points and giving the Dolphins a chance with 20 seconds left to get into field goal range and then a blown coverage and then a face mask all in the same place. It is. Mind boggling how this happened, and you can point to about four or five different culprits, and they're all Raiders, he hears. Here's the bottom line. You're up two points with 19 seconds left. And the Dolphins have the ball on their own 25 yard line with Chris. No timeouts. They've got no timeouts. No Look, you don't have to have a PhD in football to realize where's that ball going to go? Where is Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing the ball towards on the sideline the sidelines, There's no time to complete a pass over the middle to run up. Spike the ball. Maybe you'll get lucky. And after you do that, you have one play left. Maybe if you're lucky, but you might not even get one more playoff if you do something like that. You know if you're the Raiders that the ball is going towards the sideline yet, Chris what is left uncovered by the Raiders. That's sideline. It's unbelievable. And Mac Holland's left, who is a career special teams guy, Mac Collins, He's limping over to the sidelines. You know, he probably runs like a 5.0 40. He's Billy Falls out of bounds. He has to win Fitzpatrick's pass and his leads us to the second Most incredible thing. The night facemask penalty more on that in a second, but Pass itself floated in the air. There was no bullet. It floats in the air. In Holland's weights anyway to the camps out, and then he catches it. And then he falls over. Okay, like he was catching a punt. I mean it like a punt, and we're talking about defending. Sideline and then You have the face mask penalty ardent key. And you got the face mask and you've got it completely. You got your hand around it. And what do you do? Christy? Let it go and hope that maybe the official won't see me. Maybe. This guy not only doesn't let go, he hangs on even tighter and almost rips the helmet off of Ryan Fitzpatrick. I mean, talk about the two most boneheaded things you could do. In that spot, The Raiders Chris, they touch them all, and they never fail to disappoint well. The Raiders give learned that lesson that our parents all told us. If you're going to do something, do it all out. Don't go halfway and they went all out on that face mask. They went all out on blowing that game and as a result, they go all out and blowing their playoff chances because they have been officially eliminated from the playoffs. Which brings us to Jon Gruden at the podium. Moments ago. Let us hear from the Raiders head coach really admire the way we compete, but until we start closing out games Continue to be disappointed. That's a reflection on me. Obviously, I don't regret Um, taking a knee. We wanted to give the Dolphins the ball with his little time left is possible with no timeouts. Thought we did that. 19 seconds left on their own 25 yard line. Um Made a desperation play and we had a penalty on top of that inexcusable and I'll be happy to answer any questions. I can No. What was the conversation.

"Much. Yeah, It certainly did get very interesting. In the last five minutes of this game. It looked like the Raiders had played it perfectly to win it. And then Miami snatches victory from the jaws of defeat and they win it 26 25. The final score rod couple of things to talk about late in the game. Let's start with the decision. The Raiders made to run the clock down. Just settle for the fuel goal with 19 seconds left. Jon Gruden's talking to the media right now, I'm sure the question will be asked Should you have just taken the touchdown? Should you have put yourself in a position where Miami was gonna have to score a touchdown in order to win the game at the time? We both said, I think the Raiders were doing the right thing. And he qualms about that. Looking back or you okay with the Raiders played the clock there. No, the Rangers did the right thing. I mean, it's they did everything right on offense. They moved the ball down the field, the probabilities of a team going down the field and 18 seconds with no timeouts. Is bare minimum. Now. I don't know. Rod Marinelli is gonna call cover, too. On that. You just what? You don't do that. I mean, great, Williams. You know, he called zero a couple weeks ago. You just don't do that so different situations. You gotta make sure you put your players in good positions. But I think Jon Gruden he made the right call. It was just the wrong defense. A thing of the game like that, all right. And for that defense, Damon Arnett is in coverage. He let Mac Holland's run right by him down the sideline. Isaiah Johnson was coming over. Ryan Fitzpatrick is getting his face mask grabbed two sea uncorks that throw down the sideline to give give Fitzpatrick credit. What's a Mac Collins was all by himself to make that catch of the 41 yard line. That is going to be something that is going to be talked about, and rightfully so, about what the world the Raiders were doing defensively on that play, you know, First of all, let me give some love to make Holland's because he dropped the one on the goal line. It would have been first and go or third and goal on right on the one yard line. He dropped that between made up for that. But You are going to go where everybody is going to talk about. What was that defense and cover to no timeouts. 18 seconds left on the clock. You don't play cover just too many scenes and cover too. And if you're Not playing soft. What? Your corners. It's just you got the dead zone, which we call the honey hole shot on the sidelines both sidelined. You got the middle of the field. You've got too many holes. It should have been covered for everything's top down. We keep everybody in front of us make them move the ball down the field. They didn't do that. They lost the game all right time to select our Geico drive of the game. The drive of the game is that three play dry 49 yards took a total of 18 seconds with the 15 your ability. You talked about what the face mask being turned around, looked like he was from Exodus..

"I got the magic must accept get well. Somebody now has to have Ryan Fitzpatrick singing this song somewhere because he hit Mac Holland's for a 34 yard pass play in the midst of taking what might be one of the most egregious face masks in NFL history and as a result The Miami Dolphins just seconds after the Raiders took a lead on a field goal with about 20 seconds left in the game. Kick a field goal themselves, and they are gonna end up winning this football game against the Raiders as the Raiders just trying to make something happen. They get stripped of the ball and my eyrie ends up winning it on a field goal at the end in a bizarre yet very Ray Darien Raider esque Grew Denny and type laws. 26 2 25 Game night on ESPN Radio and the ESPN APP Cris Carlin, Jeff Dickerson. That's magic is real. And it lives in Vegas tonight, and Raiders. Idiocy is also real. It's amazing when you put superpowers together. What can happen, Jeff, I cannot believe This face mask penalty. On Ryan Fitzpatrick. I mean, if you're rushing the passer, and there's 19 seconds left, the last thing you could do. Is to get a penalty. And it wasn't like the Raider Pass rusher. It's that, like his hand just glanced off. It's Patrick's face. Mass. Chris. He literally. He grabbed it. It was ardent key who tried to rip it around our dinky almost took Fitz Patrick's helmet off his head. I mean, That is the difference between teams that are disciplined. And have a winning culture. And teams like the Raiders. I mean, they're trying to be better You think they might break through, But that is just I mean, that is simply textbook. Of what you cannot do. Protecting a two point lead with 19 seconds left. Amazing. Dear God. How do you let that happen? You're the Raiders. That's what you do there. This is what the Raiders do. That's why people don't take the Raiders. Seriously. You know, Gruden talks a good game. They could have some impressive wins that got some good talent, but this is why When when it's on the line, and you're counting on a team to make a smart football player to close it out. This is what the Raiders do. They don't make smart football plays. Find ways to lose these games. And now you know what? It's not as if they just lost the game. Chris, this eliminates them from the playoffs. You're done. Cause of that. Good night. Wow, ESPN radio, presented by progressive insurance with insurance for cars, homes, boats, motorcycles, RVs and commercial vehicles, but not atrocious home losses. 1 800, progressive and progressive dot com. The Raiders could have used some sort of insurance for a loss like this. Because this is as bad as it gets. And as you said, wraps up their season pretty nicely and rather Vegas fashion for the record. I mean, you talk about a bad beat. That is a bad beat. But that's also the equivalent of doubling down on 13 in some ways. When you get the 10, you almost deserve it. I know that radio. You have to paint the picture once again. Let me say something. Face mask was grabbed so aggressively that fits magics beard, the beard whiskers. You could see the moving. I mean, there was still was a violent movement of the head. The beard is shooting out from the chin strap. It's just I'm not sure of SVP's back, and I'm sure if he's healthy and back to work, but yeah, if he was back tonight, I mean, bad beats would be that would be leading the bad beat segment tonight. Oh, my goodness. And the head your season and down that Your season ends and not only that the past somehow still gets there and somehow, Mac Hollins ends up as open as he does down the Southern by 15 yards. He had to stand and wait. For the past to come his way. There is so much to unpack from this game and from the day in the NFL, the Buccaneers making a major statement, the Cardinals Making a major statement and not a particularly good one. And the Miami Dolphins with Fitz Magic off the bench once again and now It opens up the door for next week. Can you possibly go back to two a tongue of Iowa? After winning this.

"Drive, it started on their own eight yard line and took over five minutes down the first half. They miss a chip shot field goal in the game stands at a 10 point lead for the Dolphins. Don't think Adam case managed the team well. And the offense well in the final minute of that game of the first half, of course, missing them. Field goal didn't help him, but I thought they could have had more time to take more shots of the end zone. A beautiful fall day is descending now, as the field is completely covered in shade as the kickoff we're going to the end zone and the Dolphins will start out 1st and 10 on their own 25 yard line. Still bright blue sky and sunshine the far side of the stadium, but Field is in shade right now is the Dolphins take over so you don't have time is always that 12 minute period where teams can really talk about some adjustments and what they want to do, and If you're the Jets, you've got to do something. To stop Ryan Fitzpatrick, 17 or 22. Chris. He hasn't been hit yet. They really haven't moved him. He's had their way with this young Jett secondary, a bunch of rookies out there playing, they gotta do something to disrupt. Ryan Fitzpatrick here. I'll be starting on this drive. That greed is the running back Ray to three carries for 11 yards in the first half that back throw to the right through the hands of Mac Holland's on the far side. Rice Hall had the coverage for the Jets. 2nd 10 coming up here for the Dolphins. I mean that time to ask Davis, the rookie safety of the Jets, he pledged you got picked up, but at least you could see that they've got to do something to try toe. Get Fitzpatrick in the force. Eric throws like the last one to Matt College. Dolphins, a game behind the Buffalo Bills for the A F. C East lead, had their five game winning streak snapped last week at a loss in Denver. Lanky showing Blitz he's coming, They pick it up. It's Patrick back to throw Now he's swallowed up and now he is sacked. As the Jets get told, For the first time you mentioned lucky. He came, but also to quit in William's quitting. Williams got there first. Terrell, bash him off the outside. So fashion came on the outside and quitting. Williams came inside just a five minute pressure. But dispatch really didn't have any place to go. Backs him up six yards 13 16 on their own 19. Fitzpatrick has Patrick layer to his right. Three receivers spread out to the right. One of the left out of the gun takes the stat blitz coming. He's hit again. If he throws over the middle, it goes through the hands up, gets sticky and lands in complete. Don't be a Ford out of the Dolphins will have to punt as the Jets defense holds in the first series of the third quarter, and I said at the very beginning of this serious here, Chris that the Jets had had to do something. Disrupt Ryan Fitzpatrick. And they did. That was a good pass rush that time of five million rush and really find Ryan Fitzpatrick to throws on this serious. He was inaccurate. Both of Mad Hawk spelled H. A. C K left footed quarter since high spiraling kick Barrios coming off, leaving everybody off the land of the 40 takes a bounce that he actually feels it at 38 yard line. 43 yard, but no return and the Jets take over first intent. Their own 39 yard line with the Dolphins leading 13 to 3 a minute gone by here in the third quarter. Well, that was a good start. For the Jets defensively to force the three and out And then with punches, they set up a return. No return, but Really? They got great field position, starting at their own 38 yard line. Sam Donald nine of 15 429 yards in that first half dolphins have two sacks today. Donald under center takes the snap. They're gonna pitch. It left Josh Adams, getting the first county running wide left outside the numbers tripped up to take it down after a gain of the yard. Adam's undrafted players out of Notre Dame, spend some time with the Eagles and on the Jets practice squad just elevated today, and he's got a yard of the first carried the third quarter. Well, he had a great senior season. Notre Dame did not did not get drafted, was signed by the Eagles of creation on the practice squad played a little bit. That rookie seasons bounce around now, and that was not a good Robin. Even wait too late to the hole goes on a crease there and he was too slow getting out of Bring four in the game doors to the right of Darnell's Harriman in motion to the left, takes the staff startled sets up throws deep, prepared it down the left side of reaching attempt. Has made. Did he come up with the ball? Yes, he did all what a catch by brah shot paraben inside Dolphin territory down of the 34 yard line. 27 yards elite being crab over Byron Jones and I tell you that he came across the field in motion by Roy Jones went with him, and it's just a straight go round on the outside, He adjusted to the ball better. Byron Jones and Sam Donald to a great ball. But then shot Pyramid went up and beat great coverage for to catch takes this staff. They give it a core straight up the gut. Pushes the pile for a couple of yards to the 32 yard line for shot para minute, a central Florida Ah, late first round pick of the Ravens back in 2000 and 15 has been with Baltimore Cleveland in Tampa Bay. Well, the general manager of the Jets is Joe Douglas, who was with Baltimore when they selected for shot Pyramid and he really Flamed out there. He was injured. A bunch really was unproductive. Went to Tampa last year and really caught fire. When Mike Evanston, Chris God when we're interested in the season, and the Jets picked him up, and he's really flourished here in the last couple weeks to catches today for 64 yards, Donald to throw a game a deep spiral down the right side attendant remembers a juggling attempt. He can't come up with a two flags Come down, We're gonna say it's against Denzel mins. Trying to leap over Xavi and Howard, and it is against the Jets. That's interference. "Radio We've been talking about Kyla Murray. We've been talking about Lamar Jackson. If you out of your choice as to which quarterback you would want to start. Your team with who you would want at center. Who would it be? Given the edge to the better passer, and I think that's Kyla Murray just by a little bit. Lamar Jackson might be a better runner. He might be a better full athlete, but I think Calum Murray think he's more of a quarterback. I think he's more of a versatile quarterback. You also have to account for him on the ground. And also what his arm can do. Having said that I think it's really understood. He has better weapons. He's in a better system right now. And you know Lamar Jackson when you really boil it down. Yeah, he's missing the offensive line. His weapons on is good. He thinks is his coach probably needs to do a better job with the play calling. But he can also do better as a passer. So the phone lines open you right now. 855 to 1 to four CBS. I also want to let you know tonight It's time to let you know about the old spice on stoppable Drive of the week right before I get back to these phone lines. It's sponsored by old Spice triple Protection. Old Spice Sweat defense. It's not just strong, it's strong, strong. Okay and Sunday's game against the Cardinals. We talked about this man. The Miami Dolphins straight 31 24 early in the fourth quarter but to a tongue of a lower led the team on a 10 play. 93 yard drive that resulted in a touchdown, thanks to a Mac Holland's 11 Yard reception. Miami tied the game at 31 later one by a score of 34 to 31. That was your old spice, unstoppable drive of the week. Okay? And a big shout outs to Mac Collins was nice enough to join us on the show last month. Let's get back to these phone calls. If you needed that gain drive if you needed that game winning drive if you needed a quarterback to win a game for you right now. Wouldn't be Tyler would be Lamar. Let's get to Tony. He's calling from Washington D. C. Tony you on CBS Sports Radio. Who would you pick? Well, some of which I'm good, Tony. Who would you pick up? My look, man, I'm rolling with Columbine and And for the sake God you meant I would try to go against you. But, like, just just make too much sense. My if you take them legs away from both of them college gonna be dishing that rock You could put them on. And and, uh, Arizona, you could probably get the same thing Probably get more running. You put Kyle over there bought him over that defense. With the lack of weapons that people saying that LaMarca. Carla still won't dish that rock them. It's a passing league. My book is out on the mosque. I'm sorry to say, I don't think young and in the book study in mind because Regardless, my The decline is too vicious. He show me no improvement. I don't care about the weapons. He don't guys he could destroy a rock. He could make something happy. He cannot just that rock. A sense of the right way. I'm taking the little midget Mr Murray all day. Okay. Thank you. Tony for calling from Washington, D c. Let's go to San Francisco and talk to Brian. Brian, would you roll with collar? Are you taking Lamar? Oh, Brian is busy and San Francisco he shows handling here with us. Let's go to Detroit. Go to the D and talk to Chuck. Chuck, you are CBS Sports radio. Go ahead. What's going on? J. R. I just think it's absolutely hilarious Man. It shows a lack of football action, and a lot of people are already jumping on. Love Murray and living in the moment. The thing in the matter is how the Murray I like them both, and they're both going to be very good quarterbacks. The difference is Let Murray hasn't proven anything. If I'm not mistaken, and I haven't looked it up. I don't think how that Maria's beating opponent over 500 this career yet. Mark Jackson was thrust into a starting role in the middle of the season and he goes to the playoffs. He's living the playoffs is gonna go again this year, so all three seats We're talking about a guy Carly just lost the tour. So if we're gonna make comparisons, I'd rather comparing him to him. Well, let's let's let's let's be real here. We cannot just quote unquote say, Oh, well, you played this guy in a steam and that that doesn't make sense. You know that shock That's that's an extreme. What I will tell you, and it's easy to say yeah, The more of the book is out on Lamar Jackson. We've seen Lamar at the same time. There's a full belief Because of what he did last season and how amazing he played. That that might be the peak. I don't think anybody would be surprised if that was the best season of his entire career. I think that's that's legitimate and I think the next step that that anybody needs to see from Lamar Is that he congrats. A passer otherwise last year will strictly be his speak. And so yes, it makes sense to live in the moment of of what Kyla Murray has done this season, but I also think it's It's reasonable to say that Kyler is a better passer. And that doesn't have anything to do with with with what's been on paper or Beaded. This conversation wouldn't be had if Lamar Jackson as he said, you know, didn't underestimate, you know their opponent in the playoffs last year if Lamar Jackson said, as he said, going into this season Hey, I need to do better from the quarterback position, So I think it's a legitimate question. Ask it could be a legitimate question to ask, but still at the end of the day. We're having this conversation. When a bee quarterback ages came off a loss, the other quarterback, non Indian handle business. He did. Yeah, well, no, No, I'm not. But he said Chuck, I'm not saying I'm not saying that. I'm not saying no to 01 came off of a loss. I'm talking about this season as a damn hole. I'm talking about what we've seen about what we're trying to check. Are you in my bed? Yeah. Thank you. It is your bad. I'm talking about what happened. Not just this whole year What we've seen from both quarterbacks. We've basically seen a year and a half. Out of both of these damn guys, And there's one thing that's obvious and I can agree with everything that you just said. There's not a lot that I can disagree with. But one thing I will say, and it's not about who won It's not about who LOST COLUMN Murray looks like a better passer..

"Found at he. Baby mama house thanks to that available one. Eight hundred eight seven. I play astros news that you might have heard over the weekend. We didn't touch on it because my power went out there are a couple more games. Nfl i want to wrap up talking about how. 'bout miami over arizona. Whoa whoa whoa. That wasn't supposed to happen. One to the desert and the cardinals flying high like red birds. That led the dolphins to ten unanswered points. In the fourth quarter comeback. Victory had a huge run on a second and four for seventeen yards. Game tying touchdown pass to mac holland's who but hats off brian flora's for trust and his kick around a fourth and one with the score tied thirty left it sanders fifty yard field goals the game winner and then the defense deserves credit for on ball. Return for a touchdown a fourth and one stop of chase edmonds with five minutes left music complete in victory from honestly the most surprising team in football with zero. Run game. But the cardinals. Ouch tough day for cliff. Kingsbury and it's it's hard to question these fourth and one decisions. But i i just i hate them. I really do and you can think about cuyler. Murray who ran for one hundred and six yards the most. You've ever run zan gonzales. Who was so good for arizona. State right there in that town forty nine yard field goal fell short at the two minute warning. Can't hit a forty nine yarder. I mean i can see missing left or right it. Chartres medicare's zona. Ms kenyan drake to but still. There's a really good game if you didn't care who well actually really game. If you're a miami really really a couple. More here. In new orleans over tampa bay and who says you can't be tom brady and the buttocks twice in one year. They didn't just do that on sunday. Night sean payton and company steamroll arians squad because for all the talk about brady and his innumerable weapons. It was payton's offense that look. Flawless rees was awesome and the defence was superb. If you're given grades saints get applause for thirty two three victory over tampa bay now. I did mention that. Tampa bay sent the all time record for five carries in a game and one of them was a kneel down by gabbard when you're losing by thirty five and you kneel down that is a capitulation sensation france. A white flag kneel down canada's a rush for minus one but hey antonio brown you can still catch a football about that well in front of a national crowd on sunday night not that great and then last night i was looking at scores and i saw at the end of the game that the jets were winning and i thought listen. I picked the jets to lose. Because i'm not picking an eight team. Even though new england had a four game losing streak. I thought it would be ugly and this was ugly but it was going to be really ugly if they lost twenty seven seventeen and the reason the jets were winning is because sam darnold was not playing. It was the ancient joe. Flacco patriots got a couple of cuts players from jakobi meyers jacoby and meyers. That's the law firm. How about that. Jakobi meyers hundred and sixty nine yards. Receiving damian harris ran for seventy one. Rex burkhead ran for fifty. Six and a touchdown nick folk hit fifty one yard field goal as time expired but joe flacco can still play through for two hundred sixty two yards and three touchdown passes and you went deep early and often chard perriman And this listen perriman. Mims crowder they were all healthy. They're all making plays but The only upside in this loss is that if you wanna tank for trevor trevor is still your guy right now. Let's go back to houston something that i did not see coming. Jeff luneau the former of the houston astros. And i've told the story main times about how he sat and my as pre-game booth with me and did the show once september when they were. The last rose is approachable. Guy guy worked for a start up in emoryville calif. Used to go to the call. Sam sitting in the bleachers and he turned saint louis whole minor league around. I like john. Baker is going to do now in pittsburgh about that and then got hired to be the gm in houston and he took a long-term approach. We're going to suck for a while but we're gonna win the guy sl has been on my show toys. I predicted it romy. Oh he's followed a lot filed a lawsuit. I guess the astros says that. Jim crane the owner. And it'll be commissioner rob. Manfred made him the scapegoat for the organization. The science ceiling scandal an end lawsuit claims the investigation was not much of an investigation but what he called a negotiation resolution that enabled the team to keep. It's only seventeen. world championship. Went to great lanes who publicly exonerate crane and scapegoated now for a sign stealing scandal that he had no knowledge of and played no part in. Now it is true that manfred did go to great lengths to exonerate one of us thirty employers. Jim crane guy that i have had cocktails with. I like the guy but anyway the very first paragraph in manfred nine page report detailing the investigation said that crane was unaware of the scheme and now soluna has this uphill battle convincing that anyone anyone that he had no knowledge of it now among other things about saying he was made aware of the stein stealing algorithm and twenty sixteen. Here's more from the lawsuit. Quote the commissioner of edit potential penalties with crane and the to exchange a series of proposals. Those negotiations prove beneficial to crane on the astros commissioners allow the astros to keep their twenty seventeen world series championship. Posed a five million dollar fine. A fraction of the revenues crane had reaped as part of the team's recent success took away four draft picks. You also issued a blanket. Vindication of crane absolving him any responsibility for failing to supervise his club. Moreover crane in the astros were assured of fielding a contending team in two thousand twenty the team that advanced to the american league championship series for the fourth straight year. Because the commissioner did not suspend or penalize any of the players who were directly involved in the scam and quote alu- now we were talking about him a couple of weeks ago because he did a tv interview where he was claiming innocence. He said quote. I didn't know we were cheating. I had no idea. I wasn't involved then matt for responded by saying l. investigation revealed direct testimony of luna's involvement and then manfred warned. All thirty teams at the gm will always be held responsible for sign stealing and fractions. Well those are two completely different things. One is how.

"The rod, I would have went. You know what if you had to say You know, I'll be all right because I'm young and this and that, but If I set myself in the house by myself, all year round, and maybe some that makes sense. Say that everything, of course you come in contact with is also young and in shape and not treated. The folks that you know, getting worse from this from Cove. It Is more realistic. You know, nobody's sitting in a boat by themselves, especially in college. So many guys saying you're going to be family members got the aunt uncles? Teachers all that so I think the Costas route probably, but, you know, luckily, I guess that's the word. I'm not in that situation and I'm kind of in a bubble in NFL. Heywood signing up with Mac Collins wide out for the Dolphins, Mack outside of the lines and off of the field. You're an avid reader. You have a book club. What got you into reading? I mean, was it an influence? Younger and life? Somebody put a book in front of you later. You don't hear too many folks, especially grown men. Just saying, Hey, pick up a book and read. Yes, I would. My parents always told me to read on Dai never really listened. I was I was the walking and I just watched the movie. The movie got 2.5 hours and and a super interesting I was that guy Mark notes on that Andi wasn't actually until I had an injury when I got the NFL I'm going through the cycle of rehab and trying to get healthy. And then, as I said, I got to get my mind off of just doing rehab every day, So I picked up a book started reading and who's rough? The first one's always or often, they got alot easier. And then I got the part. I was reading about a book a week and me and my girlfriend decided to come up with little book club called Mac Book Mondays. But like the computer, but spelled like my name, So Mm Kay. Book Monday. So the Instagram account for it called at knack with Mondays, and every month I'll do dress up as a character from a book. And I let all the followers guess who I'm dressed up as what book. It is who the author and I'll give away no gloves or a shirt or some sort of gear. Just try to get people encouraged to read and, you know have if I get this right If I read this book I might get in here. And I guess as an NFL player player using my platform that it's cool to be Reader, not, you know, you know, weirdo, You know, Loser. You're not a nerd for reading. Reading is that the books have actually I've got upset with some of the movies that I watched while you all skip this part from the book. I can't Park turned into that guy I Mac book Monday. So what's the book right now, Mac? I'm currently reading their eyes were watching God. But I was reading. I've probably read a different book every week. And it's always so random. Like I have a list of books in my notes from people I know have read this book. Have you read this book? That's another good thing about the mackerel Mondays always messaging me. Hey, check out this book of this one. So I got a whole bunch of new and different different genres to read from, and I'm always reading something. Okay, Little Zora Neale Hurston. It's has been quite up has been quite a few years. I think maybe high school since I I picked that book up. Mac is bringing it into the forefront. Mac. That's not something that I have a thought I would talk about all my sports show, so I gotta thank you for that one. Well, good. Good feeling that there it is. Right there, you know, brings it into the light. Mac Collins is on the line with us. Wide receiver for the Dolphins, Even outside of your book club. You You're just Ah, great human Being I have done work with Special Olympics. You are doing work with Special Olympics. What brought you into the organization to commit your time? I was actually some of my former teammates that that worked in special Olympics actually got me kind of getting into a now. I'll go into the flag, football games and stuff and I have had the opportunity to be like an assistant coach for those teams. And then when I got in the NFL, I realized how big it is especially is an NFL obviously partnered. And they have the huge flag before ballgames and 11,000 athletes across the country that are part of this, and I didn't know all this stuff. So I joined in the NFL and I kind of fell in love with it. And still no with the athletes. Being able to hang out with them. And just hearing their stories. What makes them so special. Oh, and comparing it to me and being able to work together. Well, Mac, especially in 2020 win where we're talking about conclude inclusion constantly. I think it's a beautiful thing. Why is this important or for people to actually go and learn a little bit more about what Special Olympics is? It's not just one solitary event, their constant events going on all the time. Talk about that for a minute. Yeah. I mean, that's what as I've no grown in my partnership with special of you how much they do, whether it's the Winter Games, Summer games, the World Games. And then just how they, including you mentioned how important that is. And when I when I've met with sat down with special of his athletes Their biggest. My biggest takeaway from them is that Yet great that they have their own thing of. Hey, the special of the athletes doing this or this? What they really want is for special into athletes. The BOT work with NFL athletes or MBA athletes or whoever and have them included in everything that you know somebody who's not In the special Olympics is doing. You know, I want to be a part of it. They don't want to be in two separate groups. So that's what that inclusion that released what I got from them. What is so important from that that, like, sit down with special mother. It's very important here in 2020, and it's It's about inclusion across the board for everybody. I encourage folks to go to special Olympics dot org's Mac, I appreciate you for taking the time. Where can people follow you? The book club in your journey? Will you follow me at Matt Collins on Instagram and Twitter, the book Club at Mac Book. Monday. On instagram, and then you can follow special in pick that at Special Olympics on Twitter and then use the half that Jews to include I love it. It's all about inclusion. Mac. Thanks for taking the time to hop off and good luck with the rest of the season, my man. Thank you so much all the best. We've been chatting it up. What? Dolphins wide receiver Mac Holland's right here on the J. R sport. Brief show. It's time for a news.

"You know they might not. They're not getting the get. Take any quarterback they want they have to assume obviously borough is going to be off the board And I would almost imagine going in. They'd have to assume I guess we're the picking here. They're number what five. Yeah I assume someone will have traded up and leapt pastula's. Well I think so too. And Still Josh Rosen on the Rhino rose and did not play well last year and we can have a whole podcast about whether he's had a fair shake it or not. But they have Josh Rosen on the roster. They have a lot of the. I don't know if they're GONNA go quarterback the way everybody else expects that they would is what. I'm getting. Keep in mind as well. They have a ton of draft capital. Yeah and if there's some way they could package your leverage that draft capital. I don't know what do you know? What their draft capitalist for Twenty Twenty One It's robust that year as well They might think they can trade up and get Trevor Lawrence at some point. Yeah I mean that's they are of all the teams leap up whether it be two three or four Obviously they are best suited to do. So I mean they they have Houston's first rounder in twenty twenty one And their second rounder. So we're they leaping up to get because borough from what I understand in this draft borough class in and of himself and then there's a few other good players potentially but they have question marks two is not a conventional style of NFL QB and Justin. Herbert is Josh Allen type and not everybody's going to be up for that with a first-round pick or high first rounder. So it to what is. He's a little unconventional. I think he would had. He made it through last season healthy. I think you'd have a debate at the top. The draft between borough and two. I prefer borough but I don't think it's crazed for two and beyond the hip. I mean he was he. He battled ankle problems like he was always banged up. I think the durability For me it kind of bothers me. With two of my. I don't know Bryant floor. I don't know him at all. He came up in the Patriot. Way My guess is. He's GonNa want a quarterback that's more conventional goes patriot. Guys tend to believe we get out coach you but in order to coach role. You need to know what your players are doing. You want predictability from how your players are going to approach the game. That's why the Patriots Brian Hoyer. So I wouldn't surprise me. A floor is doesn't want to try to reinvent the wheel at all at the quarterback position. So I would say this I I think if you are going with like a Chan Gailey spread offense here. I think two is a more natural fit. I think in Herbert is more. At least when he enters the league to me he feels more. Like a guy who you're gonna you know more downfield shots probably a little more Volatility as far as what you're going to get from him especially early in his career a lot of people thought he was sort of miscast in that Oregon or I should say more like the offense was miscast for him But I think he's a guy you're probably going to sort of play action deep shot type guy. The other question is do you want to you? You mentioned the trouble Lawrence Factor. Which will sort of hang over this draft as well Do you want to bring in a young quarterback and play him behind offense in line? That is really not not not ready yet. It's an offensive line to the to get the Miami's other team needs offense of lying would certainly headline that. The other thing that the dolphins do not have in really the the need on the offensive line. It's more at tackle then guard right now. They did sign Eric Flowers. I paid them a lot of money. But they feel he'll stabilize your left guard spot Ted Karras as a plug in guide. Hold things over at center and Michael Michael. Jeter third round pick a year ago so they have their interior and they need to tackle the only thing they really. Don't have it all gary. Maybe this factors into who they take. Qb At some point their receivers are pretty one dimensional now. They're they're decent talents. Devante Parker gotten better just got a big contract hopefully continues to improve now. That he's been paid Preston. Williams came on very well as an undrafted rookie last year. So they've found one. They didn't quite expect there. They have Mac Holland's from the eagles whose another big guy they have big bodied vertical type wide receivers. They don't have anybody that can create his own space. The running back to same way. It's Balaj who's a backup and it's Jordan Howard who's a thunder lightning. He'd be the thunder guy so they don't have any space creators at all on offense but at some point that's going to limit you schematically if they're taking a QB to fit their current offense and they probably aren't because it's a finished product offense but if you have one dimensional vertical guys in the deep play action that you described Herbert. That would be the best fit okay. I don't think you do that. I think you'll find some other receivers. Yeah I think I think Jerry. Judy fits with them and I think again. This is a draft where I think the tackle prospects and and really the offense align prospects in general. It's it's not a it's under particularly strong interior line class but these tackle prospects once you get outside the top four. There's a drop off and you get risk reward guys and some of these guys might end up being stars but you know you're you're feeling good about them and it seemed like those top four guys are going to come off in the top you know if you know maybe not even I did. Excuse me top half of the first round but maybe even top. Ten here So I I KINDA WANNA GIVE THEM. One of the tackles just for fun. I do gut feeling as they still. Take one of the quarterbacks but I kinda WANNA give him like MCI Becton here. The the LEFT TACKLE FROM LOUISVILLE. Who is really a massive guy? And I mean you think back to the guy's a patriots had over the years You know whether it be marcus cannon or Trent Brown a guys who had success there and Beckton Becton certainly has that size. I think he's even more nimble than those other guys and I I liked to basically getting this all offensive line right and then getting the quarterback. I wouldn't be shocked. If I agree with you. I would be shocked if they go that way. What they showed last year in their rebuilding rebuilding effort not a tanking effort with the showed rebuilding effort last year. They're willing to be patient and The way they've been trading and getting future draft capital they understand. It's a multi year process. Why wouldn't you get the insurance for the QB.

Herbert Josh Rosen Twenty Twenty One pastula Chan Gailey Trevor Lawrence Patriots Ted Karras Houston Michael Michael Beckton Becton Brian Hoyer MCI Becton marcus cannon LOUISVILLE Bryant Devante Parker Oregon NFL

"My name are Joe Joe you know me of course from bt be an from humble host on the show it is Wednesday November number six hundred two thousand nineteen very happy Hump Day from all of us here at the Ocho to you are wherever you are however you are hope it's going well it's not too cold you you know. It is early November in South Texas. I'm currently at the time of recording this still in the Rio Grande Valley. I'll be back in San Antonio on Wednesday Kind of trying to get back to normal. It is hectic time of year. Certainly a lot of things going on is mentioned. There is no Papa Ocho on this episode. I know we had kind of promised but things got crazy. He'll be back sooner rather than later. Two weeks from now actually by the way two weeks from tomorrow two weeks from tomorrow's Thursday's so to Thursdays from now My parents my wife and I were all heading to Boston. We're going to the cowboys game in New England. So if you're GONNA be there make sure to give us a shout lot of you've already reached out so if you're going to be there please be sure to let us know. We'll figure something out well ahead to some sort of pub some sort of brewery some sort of pizza place sort of lobster sandwich deal. I don't know I've never been to Boston so I'm very excited. I think My my goal is to ingest at least a gallon of clam shadow on there And I know that there will be Quite the awakening from the winner perspective. It will be a lot colder than San Antonio but it is Wednesday and so It's a short week. Obviously because the cowboys play on Monday night this past who've when they beat the New York giants cowboys always are five and three they sit in first place in the NFC East if you read my power rankings along the boards dot Com. You saw that. I had them as the eighth best team in the NFL you know and and we curate all of them every week in the same post it'd be TB You know there were a wide ranging you know sort of slots that people put the cowboys in. I think bleacher Legia report was the lowest Head to cowboys at fourteenth heading into week ten some places had them as high as seventh. I'm not that high on the commerce although again oh you look around and you can kind of make. The cobwebs belong anywhere between the seven to ten range. Just kind of depending on your mood. Depending on the flavor of the week You get it. This certainly is a big chance for the cowboys to really announce themselves to the world again. This is the third straight games of the cowboys will play on national television. They were on Sunday night. Football two games aims go against the Philadelphia Eagles. Obviously than they were on a by Monday. Night football this past week and Sunday night football again against the Minnesota Vikings I saw will Brinson. CBS Es tweeted something about this and you know while those are their national television contests. The cowboys will be on basically national television. I would say just about from here on on the end of the season. I mean you know you think about it a college by the Vikings this we've gone. NBC's football next Sunday. They played the Detroit lions that might get swept under the rug. Doug is swept under the rug. Is the cowboys. Good for those purposes. They'll be after that the aforementioned game in New England. That will be Fox's America's game of the week you can bet your bottom dollar on that four days after that the cowboys host the buffalo bills on Thanksgiving you know that's always a huge game. Seven days after that the cowboys will play on the road against the Chicago bears. The Chicago Gago bears. Oh Yeah I'm in a mood so I'm going to go ahead and do it That games on Thursday night football. So that's a national television game as well a week and a half later. They'll a host of Los Angeles. Rams that will likely be America's game of the week on Fox a week after that they're on the road in Philadelphia that is obviously going to be a big time game so The the world is going to see these cowboys and see if they're for real if they're just posers because a lot of people think a lot of different things But so it. All kind of really stays I wouldn't even say gets going also stays going this Sunday night against the Vikings and a big piece of news dropped on Tuesday. NFL networks. Tom delessio reported the Vikings wide receiver. Adam feeling is not expected to play in this game. This is huge for this particular match up. I think you can make the argument. which which of the vikings receivers is the true star? I think there's a lot of people who would certainly say it's Stefan digs. I mean there's a lot of people would say that Adam feelings the guy in I remember mania was a while ago now might have been the twenty seventeen season because Adam Phelan's been on the scene for a while and that was the season that the vikings had that was really special but I think it was twenty only seventeen when Bob Sturm from the ticket and from the athletic had a tweet he was arguing with somebody and I might have to go through the tweet. Now that I'm thinking about it. But he was arguing with somebody. The in they were talking about how Dez Bryant was so much better than Adam feeling and I remember sturm said Adam feeling would be the cowboys number one wide receiver. If he joined the team at the time. I think it was twenty seventeen but so I don't believe it's been very good in the fact that he's not gonNA play in. This game is significant. He played seven snaps this past Sunday against the Kansas City chiefs. The Vikings lost that game on a last second field goal from Harrison butger. He pulled himself out after seven snaps. And so not you know I should say not. I don't WanNA WANNA say not. But that's a clear indication that something is wrong. I you know atoms such a fun to watch. I think we all wanted to get well and a lot of cowboys fan. Certainly hoping that the Minnesota Sorta Vikings can somehow take the north away from the Green Bay packers Because nobody wants to have to go to Lambofield in the playoffs I mean cowboys included in. We all know how much charron Rogers says the cowboys number although if the Vikings do when the NFC north that would set the packers up to be a wildcard. I think at this point we all can sort of see. Things is trending in a direction. Where the cowboys would be the NFC's fourth seed and therefore host? The top wildcard in in the wildcard round of the playoffs. If things do continue on the path that they're on and that could very well be the Green Bay packers so cowboys packers wild card weekend at. At and T.. Stadium would give us all a lot of nightmares. Needless to say but bad. I'm feeling missing this game as big The Vikings have not done as well offensively without him. You know the Vikings offense is really good and Dalvin Coke is challenging for the NFL's rushing rushing title. Kirk cousins is playing well certainly His best stretch while the quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings and again you still have stefan digs. I mean there are a lot of weapons on that. Vikings offense offense. Mike Zimmer is a good coach and so I don't think you can totally count them out just because Adam Phelan's not going to play but it is It is a welcome boost in favor of the cowboys. Just as it's a welcome boost in I want to be cleared. Nobody ever roots for injuries. So you know. We're going through these things because their their news in their headlines and they're important because you know Adam feeling missing. The game against the cowboys is a big piece of their game and similarly not that. It affects the cowboys this week. But on Tuesday the Philadelphia Eagles announced that they put Deshaun Jackson on injured reserve. And that's huge for the NFC east race into the cowboys. Didn't play John Jackson in their first matchup against the eagles obviously he returned to Philadelphia where originally started his. NFL career before stints in Washington and Tampa Bay. I mean you know. It's it's a big deal that he's he's out for the rest of the season and I mean you know Deshaun. Jackson has been a cowboys killer. Ever since he's been you know the majority of his career is obviously been in the NFC with Eagles and Redskins and so the cowboys dodged him him that I go around. They'll dodge in that second one in the eagles you know I. I heard an incredible statistic and I'm pulling it up a little bit of behind the scenes going on as I did through my email. I mentioned on Tuesdays episode of the Ocho that I did a podcast interview with Philadelphia. Sports table PODCAST. My Friend and Jeff Warren They really do such a great job. talking phillies sports. I know that you know cowboys. Fans typically don't WanNA listen to stuff like that but it's one of my favorite podcasts S.. When it comes to Phillies sports anyway? Jeff Warren emailed me. This stat The cowboys Obviously don't have the misfortune. The Eagles do when it comes to you. Know wide receivers now playing. Well I thought I had this email and I failed and so I you know and not be able to find it completely but it had to do with Mac hollins which which was just kind of unbelievable and again I really I wanna make sure I find this and I know there were all. I think I've got it right now. I put it in one folder. Here taste so Mac Holland who is obviously wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. He had a one hundred twenty five total receiving yards on the season. So here's one hundred twenty five on on the year and all of them came in September there were knocked tober according to Jeff He has one hundred twenty six yards in penalties. This season from September. To where we're currently at in November. She has more penalty yardage this season than he does. Actual receiving orage. So Sean Jackson Missing. The rest of the season season is a big deal for the eagles which is a big deal for the cowboys subsequently because that's the cow biggest competition when it comes to one of the NFC east. The wide receivers are playing really poorly. And I tweeted this out on Tuesday There's no question right. That Amari Cooper is the best fighter seaver in the NFC east and so who's the second best wide receiver fever right. I mean you know. I paused specifically to give you time to think about it now because I was doing a terrible job behind the scenes finding another email. No I mean who's the second best wide receiver in the NFC east Friend of the show Great twitter handle been friends with them for a long time. I don't know how many people know who's behind that account so I won't Totally disclose applied Anyway I used to blog prince at the START DOT COM that accounts affiliate over there and cowboys nation. Respondents said a healthy to Sean Jackson. And that's true but does Shawn Jackson obviously not eligible for this conversation anymore. A lot of people responded Terry maclaurin from Washington Washington. And that's a great answer and I terry maclaurin. It's going to be a problem for the cowboys for the foreseeable future. But I think there's a legitimate case to be made them. Michael Gallup is the second best wide receiver in the the NFC East behind Amari Cooper now if you opened the conversation up to be You know who the best pass catchers in the NFC east. I still think Amari Cooper is number one but number two is was unquestionably is accurate at that point and threes.
