Have A "Hit It to Me" Attitude

"I want you to have the attitude of hit to me as you play poker. This is the opposite of scared poker. You want the opportunity to raise olympic two three bed against a maniac to see bluff to check raise with your nut flush drop etc. I was a center fielder back in the day. And i would say the mantra over and over again hit it to me. Hit it to me. I would say when battery was up. Too bad. Of course and i said this because i was in the zone and i knew exactly what to do. If it was hit to me i would catch it to make him out of course but if it hit the ground i i ran up on it. Grab the ball. Knew exactly where to Throw it too. Because i was prepared. Occasionally the batter heard my mantra and kind of wonder if it intimidated them. Of course. I don't know if it did but it made me feel ready and able to take on whatever came my

Larry Elder on a Conservative's Response to Black Lives Matter

"Let's talk about the last two three years in america larry. Blm let's talk about our response to be a lamb as conservatives. What is so then. There's this big issue On the right for the conservative movement. Do we ignore the accusations of racism. And just say no. It's about freedom. Independence small government the first amendment the second amendment and engaged like that. All does that have to be some recognition of racism. We don't buy into the white supremacy garbage mantra but but can we engage can white conservative. Lying me larry engage with my fellow americans in the inner cities as a conservative and american. I i need an answer from somebody who's been delivered delivering the truth and has all the facts that his fingertips. How do we solve this problem. In an era where where social justice is the mantra for one side of the argument. Tell the truth malcolm x. One said i'm for the truth. No matter who's telling it i've often said this. Pick up your magic. Wand waved over. America remove every smidgen of racism from the heart of america. Now every white person thinks like mother teresa. Do we still have seventy percent of black boys. Entering the world of father mary to the mother we still have a fifty percent dropout rate of many of our urban high schools and kids. Who do graduate cannot read writing computer. Great holt or twenty five percent of black boys. In many of our urban settings having criminal records having been arrested on parole or probation is a number. One calls preventable death for young white boys. Accidents are accidents is another one called ridable death for young black boys homicide. Almost always at the hands of another black boy is a young black man. Eight times likely to be killed than a young white boy. If the answer to that survey questions is yes then. I submit to use stomach. Racism is not the problem and critical race. The Diet Soda of Poker

"Even though it's zero calorie drink it actually does end up in long term leading to you. Consuming more calories more processed foods more refined sugars than you would. If you just didn't have it at all. So this idea of empty calories is one that i think is really interesting because i find that in poker these mindset platitudes that we put out. There are essentially the empty calories of poker. So when you are stressed when you get into spots where you're buried you don't feel good. The game is really overwhelming. You're having all these emotions and you lean on a mantra-like don't be results oriented or just be happy that you're getting it in good. These are ideas that you can fall into the trap of thinking okay. I've got it down now. Because i said my mantra. I said the thing that i need to say. I heard what i needed to hear when in reality there's all this other stuff going on inside you you've got all these big emotions you're angry or you're sad or you're scared about what's happening to you right now in this game and you're skipping over all of them just because you want to get to the end result of reminding yourself to not be enough feel the things that you are feeling right this moment and so this very much can lead to this response where maybe for the next five minutes or ten minutes or if you're particularly strong maybe an hour or two hours you're gonna feel okay you're gonna feel like okay. I've got it under control. Because i reminded myself of how i need to be approaching this mentally but it's empty because what's happened. Is you have not acknowledged the emotions that exist. You have not felt those feelings and so those emotions are just going to burst through and break down that wall and it's going to be even bigger and even worse than if you just felt those emotions in the first place so when you go straight to the mindset the framework the theory in the idea of what you think. You're supposed to be doing when in reality. What you need is presence and connection. You're actually just making things much worse in the long run and it's never going to take you to the place of being a person who can perform at a high level no matter what's going on around you you might be able to perform at a really high level when things are going really well or going pretty neutral but when things go terribly you're never going to be the person who has the level of emotional

"I believe every person has a story to tell. And i believe in the world. We're living in right now. We have to compete with fake news and bad news. And so how do you cut through fake news and bad news its authenticity. It's real people doing real things and being real to themselves and unfortunately right now we don't have enough good stories being put out there. I think there's so many people that are there story stuck within. It's it's it's it's behind that button bringing pushed and so that's where for me. I try to get people say. Press the button. Just just do it and that freedom once you get used to it. I mean the amount of emails that i'd get people like ryan you're right once. I actually just started my podcast. It became a lot easier brian. Once i finally started using instagram's stories or whatever it may be and so for me. Precedent done is more of a mantra. That says i'm tired of bad news and fake news and until we have enough good people telling her story. We can't drown out all of that noise. And so. I want people telling their stories. I want entrepreneurs doing it. And i have a little bit hidden agenda of. I don't like the mantra of faking. Tm make it selling unicorns and rainbows and the world of that kind of existed for a while and so for me. The more we get this kind of level of authenticity pushed out the more at scares those. Those that have been successful by faking. It's an disappear along with a fake news and the bad news and we'll be able to kind of connect good stories that good people and what i love about that is. There's i think there's a method of madness and people get there a little bit afraid of pushing the button because they they don't have something to say. And what's what. I think is very therapeutic about it is whether you send it out there to the world are not pushing the button you writing recording whatever it is you start to learn how to find your voice and your perspective which a lot of us especially if you're a corporation court corporate for seventeen years you lose that that tool to practice how to find perspective and i think something really spoke to me about how you present yourself that that it was your encouraging people to do this even if you don't have a game plan because i think you knew without without being obvious about it you're like this. This is going to help you get it and figure out how to do it. Can i think for for a lot of people to i think it's not even the fact that they don't know if they have a voice it's they don't know where to start and there's this there's this weird in you know inflection that we have where we're like. I'm not an expert and like the breaking news. Nobody's an expert and nobody wants to hear from an expert. Trainer Kanoa Greene on the Struggles of Being Plus Sized in Fitness Culture

"One thing that i Really pulled from your story was that you had at one point kind of use. You mentioned that you kinda struggled in fitness culture and it made you question a lot about like in judge in feel you had to prove your own. Athleticism is something that you've written about before. I'd love for you to talk about why it can feel like that for so many people and how you realize you didn't have to have anything to prove. And what made you get into this place of saying no. I'm actually going to do the opposite in this industry and give people space to do that. Absolutely i mean up until i mean. It's a constant work in progress. I think the first couple of years of really hard for me where i had told myself. I'll make this a hobby right. What's society thing that i'll do. Never actually take it seriously. Because then you're you're really putting skin in the game and then you're really opening yourself up to being vulnerable and up until then for me. Really fitness it was. I was the girl in the back of the room because a lot of times. Walk in and you either get looks or you just feel like you're getting look 'cause you don't look like anyone else Then classes i loved. I loved things that are high energy. I love being challenged. And i think in a lot of those classes you really feel like the oddball. You almost feel apologetic for being there. Or even if i can't do exactly what everyone does especially at that point. You didn't get a lot of modifications. Instructors didn't really know how to help you or maybe didn't want to so you're you're sitting there. I felt like figuring it out. You know my first experience in yoga was taking bickram. Yoga really did not is doing and tell us now. Did you panic that. Would you pass out during your first class from yoga. I think i literally legged mantra myself through that class. It was like. I'm not going to. Because i was selena. I mean the fact that i actually continued probably doing berko every week for about a year after that is insane because to the point where now i would never. I would never go to class like. There's no need for that. But i don't think ever. I was addressed by the instructor the entire year. I never gone to that class but it just because either. They don't know what to do. Maybe it's i don't know whatever that looks like so for me to then try to see myself as being the person who leads fitness. I mean that was a really. That's a really big

After a nearly three decade ban, yoga is once again allowed to be taught in Alabama's public schools. The Populated Intersection Between Trauma and Addiction

"Today. Our topic is the intersection between trauma and addiction and recovery from both dr. Stephanie covington's a skilled clinician on inciteful author an engaging public speaker and our guest today. I've had the opportunity to hear. Dr covington lecture several times over the years. But this is the first time i've ever had the honor of interviewing her. Thank you stephanie. For joining us today bigger. Thank you. And i gotta ask you right off the bat. What is your interest in addiction and trauma and the intersection. Where does that come from. Well initially my interest in addiction came from my own experience recovering woman early in my recovery. I thought to myself. I wish one of the women could feel the way i do. A series of events led me into the addiction field. Abc focusing on women. And as i did that. I realized so many of the women i was seeing either in group in a treatment center or private practice i had had trauma histories and i realized nobody was talking about that. And begin to more and it was just. It was the evolution of my work really and those days. now. I'm talking about in the eighties. The addiction field did not want to talk about trauma. I mean i can't even tell you the negative pushback guy it was. It was fairly powerful in the mantra in the addiction. Field was when you're clean and sober. You have a trauma history you can deal with a year from now get a year recovery and then deal with it and i knew many people were never going to get a year pre covering. I wanna come back to having a couple of minutes. Let me ask you i. Can you define trauma for us. Sure the various definitions of trauma. I mean the one that mental health providers using the diagnostic manual is that it's really a life threatening event and it's a life threatening event in which can occur because you experience it or you witnessed so you hear about it happening to somebody else or you get it because you're surrounded by trauma and there has to be a particular response

"My goodness they put on a passage clinic tonight in how not to throw a post-entry pass. They threw the ball everywhere but where it needed to go in that was sure frustrating. Yeah, and you know the Knicks they are they are incredible defensive team actually and you know, it's kind of it's it's nice to see Julius Randle playing so well off the same time. You don't like to see him. Obviously, you know, this was the Julius Randle Revenge game. We had kind of made reference to that in a really kind of turned into that. But yeah, as far as the big man Montrezl Harrell Draymond Green were effectively almost neutered and I I mean, I texted one point Rez looked like he was getting abused by Taj Gibson, you know, and you know, they were they just thought I'd like to you know, one point in me if the games to Lance was doing commentary. I don't know if you got that version, but I wouldn't like to see if the Lakers went really small to counteract the what they were doing on the interior, but then right after school and said that actually Frank Vogel decided to bring Casal and so for mantra so they went the the other route blood no matter what we looking at the page. "mantras" Discussed on 10 Things To Tell You

"Code you and now back to the show. Okay. So let's talk a little bit about affirmations. Affirmations are different I use them very differently than mantras mantras just sort of. Pop into my head as I go throughout my day affirmations for me a little bit more of an action element to them meaning I actually literally write them down in the morning. It's part of my morning routine. I have a specific journal that is only affirmations. Small Little Book and each page gets a new day. I have about five affirmations that I use repeatedly like almost every day. This is an affirmation for me and then just depending on what else is going on I add in one or two days, and so I have less than ten affirmations that I write down physically in this journal in this book. Almost, every single say they're different in they're the same as mantras they're the same and that it is also shaping yourself talk but on a much more personal level. So for me mantras or sort of bigger grander ideas, their general words to live by if you will affirmations are very specific about me and only me I am talking to myself and they don't always most of the. Time they start as an I am statement. So I am loved or something like that, and so that is even more specifically self talk then mantras as mantras or more of like a touchdown. The affirmations are positive statements about yourself to yourself, and the thing is the more that you repeat. something. I. Am loved I am loved I am loved the more you start to believe it. It may take awhile I mean it really might. It's isn't again it's I don't find it to be magical. It's a repetitive motion just like any other discipline, any other type of exercise where yes you will see results with it. If you stick to it, this has been true for me with affirmations which only started at the beginning of nineteen..

"Because I don't feel worthy of it because I don't want the attention on me because I somehow start to be like, oh no, no no this this can't be happening. Don't look at me. That's not what I really want. So have to remind myself let good things happen to you. All of us. We are worth it. We do want it or attract it. It's OK. Even in the crazy world we're living in right now where a lot of hard things are happening to a lot of people it is okay for good things to happen to people still including me including you. Let. Good things happen to you. That is one of my mantras right now this is something that I say in my business mastermind, we say to each other. When we can see that a person is blocking or or not accepting something good. That is trying to happen instead where making excuses were deflecting were crunching down and saying, don't look at me instead of letting the good things happen. So that is a big mantra that has been pretty new in my life is really important for what's happening right now. Another mantra that I've sort of taken on that is new very new actually it's almost too fresh to be sharing it here, but I'm going to because I as I have been journaling it and writing it and returning to it. Recently I realized this may be a mantra that some of you need as well and that is. Clarity is. On the way. Clarity is on the way obviously, this was born out of. Not Feeling clear about things many many things right now, and sometimes I'm just not sure what to make of things businesses again in relationships in the world in a career whatever big picture or the thing that's right. Close in front of you instead of just feeling. Hopeless and helpless which it's easy to get to that place. But instead of just feeling like I'm so confused I don't know what's going on I'm never going to know this is scary and awful and how I supposed to make a decision under these circumstances and I personally don't relate to..

"mantras" Discussed on 10 Things To Tell You

"Periodically with a certain mantra or when you write daily affirmations I, think you're just changing the shape of your own self talk. That's how I look at it. It's less sparkly woo woo and more of a repetition that eventually wears a groove in your mind or rewrite a groove in your mind that maybe you to have a lot of negativity or. Beat yourself up or mimics a negative voice in your life that may be came from a parent or a teacher or a partner. Those things really can get stuck with Ns, and we have to overwrite those messages and we can do it by finding very specific mantras or being purposeful in our affirmations. So these are two different things mantras. Originally come from Hinduism and Buddhism, it's an ancient Sanskrit term and it means a phrase that is repeated frequently in meditation modern. Usage has taken it now to mean almost more of like a slogan I am using it as something sort of in between those two things I think that neurologically there is science that proves repeating something over and over can really have an effect on your nervous system. It can call calm you down can reduce stress. It really can't affect the chemicals in your brain and release endorphins that may end up calming yourself coming your anxiety that sort of in the repetitive. Way But even returning to a mantra throughout the day as a touchstone using it as a slogan if you will for your year your month, your relationships, your career kind of wherever you have assigned certain mantras. I have more than one that I live by and they sort of apply in different situations but they do kind of help me as something to come back to as idea to return to when I get overwhelmed or when I'm unsure how to proceed. So as I shared many many times, one of my main mantras in life I have to sort of main ones one is start where you are. Because I personally tend to get very overwhelmed and I struggle with putting one foot in front of the.

"Hi Friends welcome back to daly breath. I'M DEEPAK CHOPRA? This week we've focused on meditation MANTRAS and Sutras. Today and weeks ahead. I will share how mantras and Sudras provide a BOT to, synchronize. mantras in Sutras have been used successfully, but thousands of yours in wisdom traditions. Both in these invest. MANTRAS and sutras are the sounds of nature with meaning attached to them and intention attached to them. undestanding them at the so leveled, we see them as tools for transformation. Students for actualising the manifest prompted the unmanifested. Field of infinite possibilities. These mantras and does already potent because they have been used for thousands of years. They're like A. That has been charged for thousands of years to get to the same destination. MANTRAS. And Sutras are better trodden bots to your Solis. DAB been used as I said for generations, the the easiest route to transcendence non-local awareness every time mantra or sutras used it increases the probability of similar outcome because previous patterns of. Are replicated and manifested in present moment budgets of experiences manifestation. In a way I like to think of them as Rave Bartica, undestanding the wave being the unmanifested. Probability for manifestation and the particle being the benefits particular. Actualization of that probability. So the more who tries use, the greater is likelihood to be. The greater the likelihood of the mantra and the Sutra to self organize its own fulfillment. A chosen intention gets fulfilled. Breath the catalysts. Of Months Rides. All you need to reach is the place where synchronized knee happens. By itself this can be found in the seven principles of syncretism. which I'm going to elaborate on as we continue on our journey together. These seven principles of synchronicity contained seven to trust your archetypes. And your ability to meditate. Along with the ability to use the so ham, mantra and Sutra statements that you can read when you feel yourself beginning to lose your center. These are the tools that make miracles happen. Remember. Miracle is something that you don't have an explanation. When you have an explanation for it been we usually don't call it miracles. We call it once and synchronized any. Is actually giving you access to the signs of consciousness..

"Today's episode of daily breath is brought to you by talk space. We all need to talk sometimes and talk. Space gives us the support. We deserve at a price we can afford. Hello my friends I'm Deepak. Chopra this daily breath. The word mantra has two components to it. The root sound of the word mind. Also, actually it's the root sound of the word. Humid Woma, mad, et Cetera, thinking beaks. Draw is the root sound of the word instrument. So month. Literally means an instrument of the mind. That takes US beyond the mind. In the wisdom tradition obey dont`a which is what I follow. Sounds found in nature. Actually in a sense, the mantras of nature. These vibrations of the world around us. The sound of wind rustling through trees, the sound of thunder and lightning, the sound of a rushing Brooke the sound of a waterfall. The sound of a cricket, the sound of birds singing these are all mantras of nature. What the I. R. by breaches there the means which infinite potential expresses itself as manifest by Britian thought celebrations have gone feelings. I'll rations of consciousness perceptions by Britian of consciousness sensations, vibrations of consciousness, so think of Mantras as vibrations of consciousness. Also with a particular connection to fundamental or expanded or universal intelligence or consciousness. When by Britian Interacts with vibration? Somehow we experienced it as sensation. Men for example you get Iraq with your foot. The basics station. Is Hardness when you touch a FEDOR. The basics imitation is softness. When you experience the vibration of air molecules on your skin, the basic vibration cycle, but still perceptual by British, but even thought so Britian. Mantra is a word that describes this quality of the newest the vibration. You sit quietly. You will hear by brations anyway. Subtle vibrations of the Cosmos the subtle by British. sensations, body or feelings or thoughts. When we recite a mantra out allowed, it can create events in the physical. By changing the vibrations of the physical read. Reciting a mantra mentally takes you into the field of pure consciousness. Why because the mantra slowly starts to fade away, but remained Taly recited. And while also taught gradually fade away. That is `ambiguities. There is mantra at thought into fearing with each other, and sometimes the mantra thought cancel each other, and then you're in the space between. Every perception every dot every intention you're literally. In the field of pure countess. The field of infant bus abilities so today, I'd like to introduce to you two very basic mantra so hub. So now as you practice the breathing meditation, which we did yes today. On the inbred mentally. Say The word so as you take the in breath so boss. Now on the exhibition Inhalation so. Exhibition. Let's do this for. A couple of moments..

"This isn't right. This isn't what movement should be about. People should feel good moving. They should feel inspired moving, and so I started taking these concepts so much of what I learned from Louise Hay and and thinking how can incorporate this these concepts into movement so that when people go to a class at the gym? It's not like. It's not it's not drudgery. They don't look in the mirror and they're not having this horrible conversation with themselves, and so I started teaching small classes in New York City on July. Twenty to thirty people and the business really grew from there because I think people are really hungry for a new conversation, regarding their body and movement fitness, and so if someone's. Someone's just getting introduced to this now. Like what's an ideal way to get started I liked the ideas of what you're saying and incorporating affirmations mantras with movement well. What's a good plan to get started like a seven day? Jumpstart plan, are I know in your book? I think you have a fourteen day on to get started. But how do people get started? While I would I would definitely recommend that people come to my site. Aaron's Dot Land Dot Com and. Corn you'll see. There's a little button that says Seoul Stroll, and that is the best place to get started so soul stroll is a inspiring audio soundtrack that I put together I am coaching over with Mantras, and it's so simple because it is about going out for a walk and read, anyone could do that. Most most people can get outside and somehow put one or the other, so there's no pressure there to run to do anything specific to follow any directions, either you put your ear buds in. In and you had out the door, and you will find that after twenty minutes of just walking one foot in front of the other and hearing these mantras, you will start to feel shift and so I would recommend starting with a sole stroll, and literally doing that for seven days in a row. You would be amazed at what would happen with just a single thirty minute walk twenty minutes even a twenty minute walk for seven days in a row. You would be amazed at the shift. You'll experience. While you're doing that, walk you have your audio track that you're listening to is affirmations. mantras lead is on there. What makes it different than just going for a walk? Yeah, absolutely so so like I, said it's energizing music, so it's Great Music and then I'm coaching over it with Mantras so this you know so one of them is step into my greatness. I call in my success. I opened my heart. I expect the very best so things like that in its go you know. The mantras are matching with the rhythm of the music so it. It start you start to feel that in your body as you're walking, so it's not just any soundtrack and it's it's not just any music, but the coaching in the mantras with the music are really what makes it different and impactful so instead of listening to your apple music. You'RE GONNA. Listen to this instead. Yeah, that's right..

"In addition to movement, but even just moving our bodies helps get us out of our head out of that sort of obsessive compulsive thinking and more connected to the present moment and i. think that's really where people's shift starts to happen is when they can move in that really empowered way to get out of that overwhelming anxiety. So that's easy to say. Thank for the present moment, but. How do we do that one? We have a lot of other things in our minds at the moment. Right, so that's why we use those mantras while we're while we're moving so Louise Hay as she talked about all these affirmations mantras that you say, and you look in the mirror. Say Them, so it's basically taking those concepts and moving with them, because you can only really think one thought at a time, no two things can occupy the same space at the same time, so you're either thinking about all of the anxiety. Anxiety that you have war, you're in the moment with a mantra saying I am tune-in. Step into the flow I have all that I need and the rest I. Let go, so if you're really Im-, you know taking on that mantra while you're moving your body, you're not going to have space for the fear about the future or the negative thoughts that are going on, and that's why the work is so powerful because. Through the movement, you really are taking on the meaning and the emotion of these words that becomes a part of you, and that's how you move into the present. You'd basically blackout any the negative stuff. That's cool, so D- of an example of some clients that you've worked with like what problems they were having, and then how you are able to help them, yeah, so I, I, one client, who also has a a young child, and she was feeling very She was feeling so overwhelmed with all with the work and taking care of her kid that she wasn't actually making any time for herself..

"And motion manifesting what you want through mindful movement and welcome Aaron. How are you I'm good? I'm good I'm so happy to be here. Today we're just talking before we even started that. You're normally live in New York City, but you're in Chicago right now. Yeah, yeah, we made. We made the track outside of the city. To just be, we're. We're at my parents house as I mentioned. My parents are in. So we had space in the backyard I've got a two and a half year old daughter, so New York was tough for you know and it's. It's tough right now for parents in general especially with young kids, but New York was particularly tough because she didn't have any space to run around, so she's got some space, and that's good for all of us. At spring, so it's warming up. You can go outside in the backyard there. It's a little tougher in the city. That's right. That's right. We can get outside and get that fresh air, which is so important right now..

"Wonderful lovely people. Oh my goodness this is tough stuff. Isn't it oh? Gosh as an introvert I am? I am going a little stir crazy. How about you guys? However I am so overwhelmed in grateful for all of us coming together on her devices which okay I'm suspending for now my dislike of social media for communication and Connection because we can't be together right now we can't be together in person so let's embrace this technology that we have especially when people are giving so much freely to us all. I mean from artists that are giving us free concerts from their kitchens and their living rooms. I don't know if you all remember. Mary Chapin Carpenter but I was in Washington. Dc when she hit the open Mike seat in there and I was one of these crazy people who used to go to these open mics and sing myself. And wow it was fabulous Dec- her. She was kind of a neighbor of mine. When I lived in the South River valley right outside of Charlottesville in Virginia when she actually got into an accident in our neighborhood so at the long story but in any case her video popped up in my stream. Oh my gosh brought me to tears. I hope you all are having those kinds of moments and finding these free services especially for those of us who suffer from mental health issues and substance use issues because they are out there. If you are alone if you are not able for some reason to access this stuff let me know I will hook you up. I will get you connected to somebody or something that can help you feel a little less alone in that is I am so passionate about this. Little old podcast. I started a couple of years ago. I know for those of you who are listening. This is a connection to me and I am so grateful for that. Because it's also a connection for me to you all for those of you who have been my listeners for a while you may remember that at one point. I was offering a membership program to sober so recovery and I have since stopped doing that because I am more drawn to continue working with people via video tele mental health individually and I also run a group more about the group later and be initiating another one but for now I have partnered with Veronica Valley of sober full to offer what I used to offer this membership where you can get on and be connected to a strong community of people and get really good solid experienced expert and that means somebody who's trained in addiction truly an expert and someone like Veronica who is also a trained psychotherapist. Someone I love. Because she's my friend but also highly respect what she has done long before she got on the airwaves like myself and has become a strong very prominent person in the online recovery community. I am absolutely thrilled to be in partnership with Veronica and with the other people on her staff including Chip Summers who is a pretty famous recovery guy from the UK. You can learn a lot more about the program that will reopen for enrollment on April. First in the coming weeks here on this podcast but Lemme give a little taste of it now. When you join the sober full life program you will get multiple live support groups throughout the week you will get support groups for those with less than ninety days sober and for those who have had more time in sobriety and in addition you get lots of experts coming on for different aspects of recovery that are so extremely helpful and again Veronica vets people really carefully I will be on in the future talking about the things that I talk about here but more specifically around self esteem and dealing with intense mental health issues but she also has people like tiffany thrown. She's a nurse who has turned her expertise toward helping those who are recovering from multiple things in life and she talks about intuitive eating and coaches people through how to integrate intuitive eating not dieting into their lives additionally there are empowering habit workshops dozens of archive workshops and when. I talk about dozens. I mean dozens Veronica is an extrovert and she puts out a ton of content. She's on Facebook at Veronica Valley V. A. L. I. Sober Full. That's her page her professional page but she also has a free facebook group Veronica Valley Sober which you can also find her facebook business page..

"mantras" Discussed on Menopause Management

"So this mantra should be take the appropriate dosage for the appropriate period of time and every woman is different. Doesn't that make more sense what this means is that you should tailor the treatment to the individual patient that's what menopause management is all about and that's why teach you the way I do so that you can do what's right for you you so this mantra is a great big man okay mantra is yet to stop hr t after five to ten years or matter of that I've covered this one at all whole bunch clutch and videos and a whole bunch of broadcasts this is all about the estrogen window opprtunity it's the first five to ten years of your posted a pause when taking estrogen can prevent the diseases associated with menopause including heart attack osteoporosis and Alzheimer's Disease and has I've taught you the five to ten years refer refers to the time you have to start taking estrogen it's the time period for the Green Light Go oh it has absolutely nothing to do with how long you can take estrogen it is not got a time limit for taking estrogen it's not the red light it's only the green light it is a time limit for getting started on estrogen you see there's a huge difference to you could start taking estrogen four years after postmenopausal if you could take it for the rest of your life life but a mis interpretation of the five to ten years would make you think you could only take it for tow hello a five to ten years not so so this mantra is a great big myth this is another mantra that you'll hear here from professionals who are not in a pause experts and they'll even refuse to prescribe estrogen beyond five to ten years to make themselves you'll save her and like most things associated with ignorance they'll swear they know what they're talking about and they'll probably try to scare ear you with one or the other mantras that is untrue heaven this education knowing the facts will empower you but it may I also frustrate you when you realize how cheated women are in getting what they needed deserve a bit of us it will really upset you now before I blow a gasket let's move onto mantra okay mantra nine so you can take calcium instead of estrogen to prevent osteoporosis is that a bit or matter how many times have we discussed this with I sound like your mother Dodi how many times do you remember the quality versus quantity DT comparison I've given you osteoperosis is a lower qu one two t of bom it's bone loss that is due due to estrogen loss calcium have absolutely nothing to do with bone quantity it only affects spoke quality t. c. you can take all the calcium in the world and still lose bone so this one is an absolute did not settle settle for taking calcium in order to prevent osteoperosis Ila war it would be putting your dishes in your toilet in order to clean them I mean the toilet it will not clean them like your dishwasher will it'll swish the water around and maybe even some off but they will not be cle- they'll be contaminated with all sorts sorts of bacteria that will make you sick it's a crazy anad analogy but it's apropos okay and finally we have locked her number ten you can't take hr t if someone else in your family had a disease that is riskier you with Hormones d I think that's a bit or do you think it's a matter of fact I hear this one all the time from women who here from their doctors doesn't make any sense to you think about it you can't take something because someone else had a disease does that sound like sound practice you connect the dots on that one if your mother had a stroke should you be denied. Hr what if your mother is an obese diabetic smoker but you're a thin Degan health now does that matter if your sister had breast cancer but she has all the risk factors for breast cancer and you had none should you be denied hr not family history trumps everything else do you think your family members or the behaviors in disease risks matter more more than your own behaviors in disease risks if the disease is one for which there is a genetic mutation and you actually have the mutation that's a whole different story but just because someone else in your family headed disease that's associated with a higher the HR t risk does not mean that you can't take hr T. so despite the fact that this mantra is very common it is not a matter of fact it is a man you have to do what is most comfortable at reasonable for you because you are unique so so there you have it so many mantras and so few fettes how many of those mantras remiss and how many were backs he see as you you word things are not back black and white there are many many shades of gray and this education helps you to see those shades of a gray I hope you found this really useful and if you haven't been listening to these broadcasts in order or watching my videos is an order go back and see some of these things because you'll realize very clearly hell these myths versus matter fact make perfect perfect perfect sense and that's a fact I just want you to understand all the reasons for everything and when you understand the racist things you just don't forget them it's always about the logic behind him and so that's what I have for you.

"Hello everybody it is MIDOPA's Taylor bringing you the state of Minna Pause and the world today and we are moving right along in this menopause education and I get on the radio and talk to you every week and I just love the way your learning so much and I think that this series is somewhat akin to MIDOPA's MIDOPA's university don't you I need an every radio broadcast I shock you with facts about this or that and today hey I'm going to shock you with some mantras mantras have you ever heard the word mantra a mantra is a phrase that that you hear repeated over and over again sometimes it's true sometimes it is now the problem with mantras this is at once they're mantras people tend to stick to them whether they're true or not talking about mantras today because there are a variety of mantras in the world of menopause some true and some untrue but how are you to know the difference I consider it my job lobbed equip you with all the tools you need to successfully manage your menopause with which ever kind of professional you choose but different professionals have heard different mantra and some of them practiced by those mantras whether they're true or not so I'm going to address some of these mantras and make sure you know whether each one is a myth or a matter of fact this broadcast cast is called paws mantras mythical or matter-of-fact so you should definitely listen to this broadcast because I I promise you that there's a mantra or two lurking behind what you're menopause professional says or does and a mantra stated with conviction addiction no matter how mythical can defy all logic so I'll present the mantras one at a time and I'll give you a chance to guess us as to whether it's a myth or a matter of fact and then I'll reveal which it is and explain okay much number one estrogen trajan dominance is a hormonal imbalance that causes all sorts of problems. What do you think is it a myth or a matter of fact if you've been watching my youtube videos or listening to these broadcasts in order this what should be easy for because I have covered it in a bunch of broadcast added a bunch of my videos I did a bunch of stuff on estrogen dominance so you should know that this mantra or any ramification of it is a mint remember the TV show called the newlywed game the really old to remember it then he was plaques to reveal their answers they did things were somewhat what like knits or met miss or mantras and you had to guess what was right I really liked the show and the fact is that estrogen dominance is something you have in the first half of every minstrels cycle you ever have and it's what you have peri menopause too two so on earth has episodes of estrogen dominance and Jim dominance constitutes about half half of your reproductive lies so if estrogen dominance were abnormal or dangerous every woman would have all the problems loop sitter falsely attributed to it so this estrogen dominant snake is a bit okay here's mantra number two estrogen take causes cancer is that a myth or matter of fact please tell me that you'd be there watched my videos or listening to the broadcast of this if you pat you definitely know the answer to this one if you've watched my video or listen to the broadcast on this you know get the correct answer is it depends on the kind of cancer cancer is kind of like the word car how many different types of cars other than the fact that they all provide beads of transportation how similar are they gosh they differ just about every aspect size color luxury ipad power number's seats et Cetera so it is a matter of fact that Estrogen Causes Uterus Cancer Estrogen thickens the lining of your uterus which can lead to uterine cancer unless less it sheds or unless you take estrogen with progesterone so that it never thickens in the first place but estrogen it does not cause breast cancer in fact what causes breast cancer is cyclic activity of estrogen with progesterone? Oh gesture all and the more cycles you've had in your lifetime the greater your risk for breast cancer that is a matter of fact okay mantra three it's better and safer to use progesterone instead of estrogen for post Middle Toss what do you say or matter of fact once again I have covered this in a variety of broadcasts casts and youtube videos this is why I always tell my students to watch or listen to everything in order so reviewing this do you remember the three bears from the Fairy Tale Goldilocks Sun bears testosterone is puck bears hormone. Tom Estrogen is mama bear's hormone and progesterone is baby bears hormone does it make any sense at all to you think that you mama bear can meet all your needs with a hormone that is only for supporting baby bear during your pregnancy with baby beer well of course not estrogen has about one hundred functions in your body just road had one and that one boxer wasn't even for you it was baby bear so it's an absolute and a very costly want to think that you can use progesterone instead of estrogen for anything all mantra number four is bio Ooh I did dickel hormones are better is that or is it a matter of fact you know talk to you about this in a whole lot of radio broadcasts at a whole lot of us now this particular mantra is what Mitt is utter or declared by persons much more than it is by professionals and the fact is that most of the people who say this really can't define what they mean by the term bio identical it's one of those latest and greatest types of claims claim that makes you think it's the thing to us but I don't like work like better or worse right or wrong good or bad in terms of judging options for menopause menopause the fact is that nothing is good better or right for every woman or for all women and even if something is advantageous in some ways there are always disadvantages also so this mantra is theoretical not actual in one of the very earliest parts of this education I taught you that sometimes your brain and your body don't agree suddenly net sounds like a great idea may or may not actually work for you so theoretically bio identical hormones are hormones also there are identical to those in your body and theoretically that makes them sound like they should work better and produce fewer side effects but in reality they don't always work that way another misconception about bio identical hormones is that they come fro Oh from only compound ing pharmacies that not true most of the pharmaceutical hr t products are also oh by identical so this mantra about bio identical hormones being better is a complete myth whatever works works better for you is better for you okay mantra number fought estrogen vaginal creeds that could find themselves to just your vagina are a better and safer option then estrogens that circulate throughout your body is is that or is it a matter of fact shockingly this mantra is held both by lay persons and in many professionals and again it depends on your goals it is true that estrogen vaginal creams go into your vagina and stay in China they do not distribute estrogen any where else they are specifically acidic we and solely for the purpose of alleviating your vaginal symptoms of menopause so if that's your goal then fought because estrogen creams do not circulate throughout your body day cannot benefit you in any other way they cannot alleviate eighty your other symptoms of menopause and they could not prevent any of the diseases asserted as-associated menopause like heart attack osteoporosis Jio process for timers disease so if that dryness itching burning all of that is your only symptom and you had no desire to reduce risks for these diseases the initiative vaginal Creighton may be the best thing for you are if you can't I can't take any form of estrogen that circulates throughout your body Dennis rogen vaginal cream maybe the right thing for you but to say outright that estrogen surged badge creams are better or safer is just a myth are you starting to see why mantras are problematic matic you see there too general and people take the to literally and applied to broadly okay now for mantra number burst six the purpose of hr it is for alleviating the symptoms of minerals is that a bit or is it a matter of fact now if you've been listening to my broadcast I have covered this I presented a broadcasts casts about the primary versus the secondary purposes of HR team fact is presented three broadcast on that and through videos on the primary Mary purpose of HR is for alleviating your symptoms of menopause the secondary purpose of hr it is for preventing diseases seizes associated with minerals you get the set in their benefits as a part of using HR t for its primary purpose so this one is a myth there isn't only one purpose for using age rt there's a primary purpose and a secondary secondary roads okay now for mantra number set hr it should be used in the lowest interest dosage for the shortest time take a guess is that a bit or is it a matter in fact now this one you'll hear a lot from professions you'll hear mostly from the professionals who help you manage menopause but had the least expertise in doing so it sort of comfort zone for then it's like stopping short of making a full commitment able to give you enough estrogen to possibly meet some of the primary purpose of alleviating some of your symptoms of menopause rob you of getting the secondary very benefits of preventing heart attack osteoporosis announced now there's also sort of a ring to would you like the way it sounds no don't sit shorts it makes you feel like you're just doing the bare minimum and that makes you you feel like you're doing no harm it appeals to your severe about hormones I guess it's analogous to be a little pregnant when he can't be just a little threatening you're either read or you're not you can't have ways so taking the loans dosage for the shortest time maybe catchy but it completely misses the boat if you want any of the long term benefits of HR t do you remember when I taught you about guidelines in previous broadcasts some of the guidelines live actually use this mantra that makes it even worse if you don't agree with it because guidelines are not wall wall laws or rules they're just guidelines the problem is that non experts in menopause don't know how to adjust guidelines for the individual individual patient that would.

"mantras" Discussed on Love Your Work

"Wants to do legendary creative work. Follow these eight stoic mantras to make it as a creator. You need a healthy relationship with reality. Reality is the only path to improvement. But reality doesn't always feel good. Meanwhile, you're tempted to feel good for the mere sake of feeling good. The good feelings are shield from the comfort of reality that reality that can help you improve the philosophy of stoicism acknowledges our natural temptation to seek pleasure and to avoid pain. Stoicism aims to help you resist that temptation here are some stoic mantras that I personally use to keep myself on the path to reality be skeptical of praise being different to admirations be inviting criticism. Don't bask in the compliments of others. Don't deify your heroes. Take ownership over your failures. Don't let success cloud your judgment and do the work even when you don't. Feel like it. One be skeptical of praise. False praise is deadly to the creator assume that all praise has an ulterior motive friend is trying to be nice. A follower is trying to ingratiate you or an enemy is trying to disarm you. Sure. Take praise as drop in an ocean of feedback. The be skeptical. The goal here is to not let praise cloud your judgment to be indifferent to admirations on your way to finding your creative voice. You're gonna go into uncharted territory. And that scares others. They fear. You'll lead them. Astray? Friends will stop returning your emails, they'll be reluctant to give you support less your potential future failure wash off onto them. This behavior is gonna tempt you to want to get back onto the beaten path leading you away from your creative destiny and trying to fit in. So if you're indifferent to admirations, you can stay the course three be inviting of criticism when your work is. Sized it stings, a creators workers personal and criticism of the work feels like criticism of oneself even unnecessarily nasty criticism, hold something useful.

"And the mantra becomes more charming so our minds liked to follow charm they're always moving towards greater happiness something interests us are mine will drift in that direction so we used these mantras which have very specific mantras when you think them easily and effortlessly they produce the sound vibration that's nectar for the senses as it becomes more subtle you know we don't hold onto the mantras we let go and as they drift through those subtler and settler layers our attention will follow them and then it follows them down through the deeper layers and ultimately gets to the source of all thought which is pure being and that's when we transcend that is a state of fulfillment in once we reached that state if affiliate inside us we forget to think ranking is to get happy but we're looking for happiness outside of ourselves and that's the thing that i noticed and i still do when meditating and i think i mentioned this to you you know when i first started when i would get through to like that deep sense of you know of just emptiness and and bliss i would immediately let you wouldn't last long because my brain would go oh my god this is awesome and then it would immediately tech me and if i got right back to it it would keep doing going oh my god we did it again fuck i'm thinking oh my god i do and i i think i mentioned this to even before i started meditating like i would i've often through my life would experience and i didn't know if there was a word for this or like if anyone else felt this but like just like walking down the street or driving in my car or just sitting in my living room just a normal day doing a normal monday actively and all of a sudden for no reason out of just seemingly nowhere i would feel extremely happy like pure absolute like everything was amazing and like heavenly and like oh my god this is the best and then again like my brain would go don't don't let this get away my brain would immediately be like hold onto this feeling and then it would go away right because most people think that happiness is dependent on thoughts right and it's not it's dependant on consciousness thoughts are derivative of consciousness you know our thoughts find their source and consciousness and your happiness is also sourced and consciousness it's not source in a relationship or money or fame or whatever it is that people are chasing it's inside you and what meditation is great for i mean people do they meditate to get rid of stress but what they find is that inside them is this unbounded everlasting divine reservoir of this list isn't that subconsciousness as opposed to because to me it seems like consciousness and thoughts are almost the same thing sub consciousness no because if i'm conscious i'm aware yes but but as you continue to meditate your sub conscious becomes you become aware of your conscious of this is beyond that state of consciousness there's a pure unbounded on manifest state of consciousness the scientists today call it the unified field right and it's all of us we are all the we're all fluctuations or waves on that on the unit unified field is everything everything it's just everybody's it's matter anti matter rice thoughts that it's one consciousness it's not like there are pieces missing from it or that there there's only one thing except for steve and he's he somehow broke off and his his like that we're all the same thing and the journey to enlightenment or just if a film it is turning within and getting to know that.

"To investor's edge today again we are pre taping the show the market just closed a few moments ago hope you're having a good day as you know we have been telling you on this show certain mantras on the markets the small caps leading nasdaq nasdaq one hundred less so then bringing up the rear the snp than the dow yesterday we said to we thought that the financials probably hit a low and maybe the dow will do better now but today was a very weird day and you know we are very when we do our things we we believe in what we see and sometimes they they're sore thumbs and then sometimes you get i guess you can call it weirdness and today was one of those days and let me explain i am very careful about telling you what i do what i don't do it markets but i'm going to divulge something that happened in the last i will call it three or four days in the markets number one in the last five days villas a decent amount of growth names that edged out of range but volume was really lacking and for me volume is the conviction in the buying real strong volume indicates man this big hands and they are going after that stuff moves on light volume is the opposite of lack of conviction doesn't mean it doesn't work he just rather have it the other way at the close of yesterday i was very p owed myself because on a daily basis by monitor the markets certain names always sticking out for me that i i i would like to deal with and there was a good amount of names that edged out over the last few days at the close yesterday wasn't big moves nothing gigantic but enough to wear i'm home last night upset with myself how did i not even tag a couple of these things every one of those names today gave them all back and more and i'm like what the heck is going on here when i say give it back i hope you don't mind mocking to mention names but what are the stocks went from one seventy six about one eighty six it's rob nine bucks today back to where.

"You're a perfectionist please eight mantras we'll get your writing dawn perfectionism is an enemy of getting any writing don aspiring writers spent entire lifetimes tweaking and preparing to ride the perfect book many never end up publishing that book here are eight mantras that helped me publish my latest book try saying them to yourself when you get stuck and there are eight of them there's more where that came from i can always improve this it's okay to say it again can i say this in a different way it's better than you think it is you are a bricklayer there's always tomorrow and you won't live forever one there's more were that came from for a long time i was held back by the mentality that my neck's piece of work had to be big this was actually made worse by the success of my first book i now try to take on the mentality that there's always more i can write today and i can write tomorrow i don't have to treat my writing like it's drops of liquid gold that must be salvaged there's always more to i can always improve this the blank page is scary for me this is caused by the image i hold in my head of what i'll put on that page but getting from blank page to that vision is a leap it's better to put something on the page and remember that'll edited later or more often i'll completely rewrite it three it's okay to say it again if you feel like you only get one chance to say something you make it harder to say you spend time thinking.
