"Progress M. L. B. eleven the players went down the route of of having the all star game being back to what it always was which was the a big mid summer celebration and separated from the all star ever from the World Series all the love and I think it's important to have it as a standalone offense and when you have it as a standalone event and it becomes one that does not connect to October at all you can have more fun with it it doesn't have that same serious tone and the more that baseball can have events during the course of the year that that are fun that are a little nontraditional we're gonna see it this year with the field of dreams game between the Yankees and and the white Sox month of August we use the internet in Williamsport with the game the conjunction with all of the World Series we have seen it internationally this year the there isn't another series played in Mexico is this one of Mexico City that there are a lot of unique things that break up the monotony of the of the schedule and and I do think guys and having more access and more color around it interesting interviews in in an on field mikes I think really do a lot to grow the game and they can gauge the fans in a way that I think all of us would like to see happen more often you know we knew this on this new rule that was announced was coming the three batter minimum do you think it makes for a better game is it a quicker game how do you feel this will have an impact on the field so are are you in my opinion on the three better minimum I I am a traditionalist more of a traditionalist in this regard I I'd like to rule as a was previous and one of my one of the ways to look at it going forward here is that we we have seen in the past in increase in offense late in the games and and and at the time this idea about the three better minimum came around the it was the issue of of pace but also bullpens right a very dominant AB at the time that conversation started and and now there were there was more late inning offense in twenty nineteen the what we have seen in recent years and so I'm just not sure that it's entirely necessary in my opinion I I also have that fear of what happens if somebody is on the mound and and has a hard time locating the ball that you have to watch him walk the two or three batters in a role it does that really help the base of the game I would submit the answer to that is no so I I I am all for measures that will increase the the pace of action I thank the commissioners and a lot of great work on this on this front a but this is one area where I I do like the the the state of play as it existed for a long time in the game and I'm not sure that this will ultimately speed up the game if it does and that's wonderful but I I am not sure that it's going to have the desired effect that that was it that was initially intended to have and by the way I I will commend them only for being the technical on this front there's there's no promise is going to continue into perpetuity if it doesn't work in twenty twenty there's no reason why they can't have a different approach a twenty twenty one Jon Morosi final question thanks for spending a little time with us this is this divides baseball people this this question I'm on one side of it I would like to see baseball move back to limiting ships to actually have a hash mark I think it opens up more bass running opportunities more runners on base which I think a lot of people have an issue with would you like to see baseball address defensive ships yes I will I would enter the governor has worked there is fine that's a nice simple approach I think one of the one of the issues the game is as bad confronted with here in recent years is the total saturation of information and I think it's certainly good to to a point and it helps people make decisions and and that's wonderful but when you start to slow the game down I would I would much rather have the hash mark that you mentioned and limit limit the amount of times you can ship during an at bat as opposed to the three better minimum which I think me as the same end goal of speeding up the game but I I just I'm not sure it's going to be as effective as a would be to say listen with the balls of when the ball is is on the mound and the British very be delivered you're not gonna have guys switch inside the field of moving all over the place you short right field because that takes time to and an auxiliary ships can take a good amount of time to put in place and so for my opinion I I like the flow of the game and the editing was anything that keeps the game moving at its normal true pace is what you want to see and so from my perspective I would rather be I'm a much greater fan of of keeping those those defensive markers there to do it others is out of second base and then going back to the lack of a three better middle there for the ball that common ground we found it right there Hey John Morosi Friesen for a reason in Ann Arbor and enjoying it I know you'll be in spring training soon we appreciate the chance to visit with the it is very very low the conversational we'll see at the Wolverines find a way to get off of is this a great start but I've I've got confidence in coach our you're down the stretch all right all right thank you Johnny a little mistake in the rich Eisen show because that's the rich Eisen show so there has to be a little Michigan love and I do like Jim on Howard and Michigan I like great guard was constantly just a little bit more it's just a it's just the color scheme issue I'm a big red and white guy the show was amazing blue show for whatever Rowling either because I'm not one other yeah one reason is a good one I let me tell you this Capital One is reimagined banking by offering savings and checking accounts no minimum fees no fees rather no minimums and one of the nation's best saving rates Capital One what's in your wallet approval required Capital One N. Hey I I love getting your questions and comments so I want to respond to a post from SADIE. Who is a member of my private facebook group? Dominate your dollars. She says hi Laura Longtime Listener first-time poster. I went to an m. l. m. Party last night and the consultant mention how she's able to write off a portion of her new mortgage utility the bills etc on her taxes via the Home Office deduction that you mentioned episode number six hundred six. I am not affiliated with any M. L. Lamb and tend to steer clear of them. You're always encouraging your listeners to pursue side hustles for supplemental income. I'm curious on your perspective and if you're for or against these pyramid schemes and any other perspectives you might have to offer thanks Sadie. Thank you for posting this in the group first off I don't. I don't think every m. l. m. or multi level. Marketing Company is a pyramid scheme there many companies out there that use multilevel level marketing as a business model and the entire purpose of an m. l. m. business is to move product so the theory behind it is that the larger larger than network of distributors the more product the business can sell besides earning money off your own sales the whole idea behind the Mlm a structure is that you're also going to earn a percentage of the income generated by the distributors who you bring into the business. These are known as your down line and now unfortunately not every multilevel marketing opportunity is a legitimate business opportunity the big difference between a legitimate. MLM Lamb and a pyramid scheme is in the way the business operates if the entire purpose of a company is simply to get your money and then use you to recruit recruit other people who pay in more money. That is a pyramid scheme so when you're looking at these opportunities you WANNA ask yourself. A few different questions are are you required to invest a large amount of money up front to become a distributor. That could be a red flag. So if you're asked to put up a little bit of your own the money that may be fine but if you're being asked to let's say by a huge amount of inventory. I would say that probably is a sign that it is not a legitimate a business and if you do have to pay for some small amount of inventory does the company buy backs and portion of that from you if you can't sell it maybe seventy near eighty percent of what you paid might be a reasonable expectation and you know thinking about what is the attention paid to the market. Is there a market kit for the business. multilevel marketing is going to depend on a marketplace to buy the company's products. The company doesn't seem to have a marketplace or any demand and that could be a bad sign and you know again. Is there more emphasis on recruiting more people than on selling the product again. That's the difference wants so ask yourself these questions and if anything does not seem right to you. I would definitely say don't get involved but it is not not fair to say that every M. L. M. is a pyramid scheme because that's just not the case. You'RE GONNA have to look at these opportunities on a case by case basis so sadie. I hope hope that helps. I know many of you who are looking at getting into your own business. Maybe looking at an Mlm so you know that.

I was doing I was using math Matica and mathematical like super exciting, and I really liked that you could kind of type code and then like at the plots kind of in line, and then you could like fiddle around with all the graphics and everything and so naturally when I started using python. When I discovered that there was this way to kind of get Mathematica like things python. I totally jumped on that. And it's pretty incredible. How I think in python if you like generate plots, and the image plops up you have to like, you know, close the windows over time, and you would say that, you know, it's probably only like a few hundred milliseconds of like delay. But when you have like a python notebook, and you have everything in front of you. It's just so nice to be able to kind of just open all of that another thing that I really like about using Jupiter notebooks. Is that especially when you're kind of hacking on these hardware pride? Acts or doing 'em. Oh, you like you're not gonna finish it in a day. It's going to take you several days. So every you're going to have to be taking notes anywhere. You're going to have to come back to your graphs and be like, oh my God. Like, what was I doing? What version of the code was I running here? And if you have everything in Jupiter notebook, you can type your own notes, you can have your graph there. You can have the exact kind of code you ran so everything's like really nicely packaged together. Just generally with M L, you're gonna try like ten different things. And like, you know, one or two of them are going to have only one or two of them are going to work, and you have to remember which ones worked. And so you can have your like paper notebook or you can have like a word, doc or Google doc in front of you or you can just have it all in one place. I I lived you put her notebooks. And you have made a great commercial for them. I should mention you did mentioned Mathematica if people are interested in checking it out with probably shouldn't they should probably do python Jupiter. But if you're interested. It's actually free for the raspberry pi. So you can get a free version for the respirate pi it's usually very expensive. But I don't know why they did that maybe because it doesn't run superfast on raspberry pipe. If people want to check it out. It's it's free. Okay, mathematics that was to such haven't used mathematics in years. And you mentioned psychic and psych. It learn these are pretty big libraries. And I usually think of them in line with tensor flow. Do you know the difference between psych it? Learn Penser flow. Yeah, I can speak to that a bit. So tensor flow is generally used for kind of deep learning and narrow networks, and you know, all the shiny stuff that you see in the news of nowadays, psychic learn more used for kind of of very kind of traditional machine learning. Whether I liked liked to call kind of applied machine learning. It's kind of, you know, your traditional set of machine learning tools that you're going to learn in kind of an intro machine learning class, it's not kind of deep learning. But it's just a tool kit of a bunch of machine learning models and algorithms that work and have been proven to work over a long over a long time..

"If it feels like it knows the answer on its machine learning based, but we didn't want people using intercom to have to train the system in a very technical way. So we built this kind of UI where you can go in any contain on what your questions are what you want to answer them with on. We kind of looked around and didn't really see anything like a lot of prior art a lot of existing systems that were like what will. We really came to think of as a content management system for M L or like a UI for training and Emo unsold. So I I'm really excited about that idea of those things becoming a little less opaque to even very technical people. Like, oh Soo may, you know, be like active computer, scientists another one not from inch common. My favorite tools from last year was it's Colo dot AI. It was by like Mattis suit who is an early employee on. It's it's a similar idea. It's dragon drop system where you can build your own AI systems on. So that to me definitely feels like a frontier 'cause a lot of this stuff is just still really hard to build manually so to speak. It's interesting Lance to take the the may well be powerful enough in the biggest next frontier as she excessively not ability of. Routed, like even more algorithms, if you know what I mean changing tax cuts like we said, we're gonna talk spots off so ops..

"If there's enough compute there, we could new give an M L model that would just simply count the cars at saw. Yes. And that's what the client does. Okay. They don't just do that they can detect if the drivers going the wrong way, which is very important that that would be an issue. Yeah. So they're looking to detective drivers going the wrong way. They're looking to count. How many cars they're looking to see how long a car was there. Right. They're looking to see for all kinds of metrics that can then help, you You know know. immediate resolution for immediate data. Let it, you know, if there's a traffic jam or if there was an accident at the intersection, and then the long-term analytics data of there's always traffic here at five o'clock, but one street over there isn't figure something out. Right. The thinking about machine learning model for traffic traffic like identifying an accident. That's an interesting machine learning problem because the no two accidents or the same. Well, but they all seem to have flashing red lights. Don't they only after the end of them? I'm thinking about before the rushing, right? Get there. I wanted to call for the flashing red light detecting smoke would be one thing you could probably do probably I think there's also usually two cars much closer together. Right. Accident at least two right? Have you done a lot of the machine learning work like training, those kinds of models? Not in like, so whenever I've done the machine learning where there's there's like the machine there's the people who can do new research style machine learning, right? I have done. None of that. I've done the thing where the person who made the new machine learning research. I then took that in reapplied it to something put into the device, right? So the trained model like the the whole thing is there's only so much horsepower on that poll, but probably enough to run the model not enough to make the model. Yeah. Oh, yeah. You definitely can't make the martyr on those. Well, technically, you came but not within a reasonable length that hey, guys hold that thought right there while we take a moment for this. Very important message. Thank Carl here. If you enjoy music to code by you or someone, you know might be interested in the app, which I've generically branded music to flow by see what I did there..

"It's a burden. It's a curse on your family and proverbs. It says, the borrowers slave to the lender. And so I feel like everyone's like, yes. It's so it's just not wise. And so that's my thing over and over again. Again, it's not a send for believers out there, but it's just not wise. If you can truly live on less than you make you create that budget which is going to be your roadmap for your life financially. It's amazing that you can do it because again, it's it's the standard of living that we've set for ourselves. That's unattainable the fact that we all have to have two cars Levin this type of house in this part of town. And do you know how these close this lifestyle? Our world is created, which is just crap. It really is who says that that's supposed to be and and stuff is okay. And I always tell people this to that. It's okay to have nice stuff. Just don't let your nice stuff have you. Gosh, and it can have you yet by going into debt because you're not a slave to that car. You're a slave to that person that you charge for like your sleep to that, but also emotionally money can own people and stuff can own people mostly. Were you think my happiness. My identity is wrapped up in that thing or that type of lifestyle and stuff can have you, and that's an empty path and we can talk about that too, but. That's an empty road and we all you know, if you're a believer, you know that stuff is not gonna make you happy. It's a new car and you go, wow, this is really great. Like this car is really nice, but I like I literally don't feel any different. You don't feel any? No, you going to enrich m. l. and get. We'll go back on debt, but yes, and I had that moment I teach about this again. It's so funny day in and out. But God still puts these lessons in front of me. And there was these pair of shoes that I've wanted for years. It's brand. I don't even want to say the brand. I don't know if I should, but it's a brand and very expensive. Yes, but like it's stupid pricing and it's like I would never pay that much repair sheets. Right. I've always said that, but I'm like that Paris. You could just have one pair of that brand new. And I've said this for years and probably four years because even when my first book came out, my dad was like, you know, take your first.

"Whereas on WS it's perhaps less easy. Sorry, the deployment pipeline. When I got there for deploying shop was basically spin up a VM Gazeta, restaurants, vans, and then deploy into this windows box and run it. And that deployment pipeline was very slow because you've been up new VM up. Windows is slower, and then you still your package on it and then run it. And so it was a slow pipeline. They wanted to make it foster. He could've done this. We could haters who just weren't while that was the next step route. We went to like, well, this is too slow. Let's look at containers, but containers work vessel money. And I think that point in time they went windows containers, rum. So we will like, okay, we need to run sheriff shop application on lenox. So let's look at money. So we tried to run our f- shop app on Monday. And for some reason that we never managed to figure out Mona was just incredibly unstoppable force. And I'd, I'd I, we still to this day. I don't know why is if I look out on the white, a web veal seems to have these problems, but we couldn't figure it out where no, how many f- sharp mono people I've ever heard of? Well, I, yeah, I feel like they must be some people using it because I say some other people online using MAC to do the if shop cuttings they must be using one I, but we just had we had problems with one eye Runtime which is said folks and just die on us randomly thought suitable. Yeah. And like this, we Conti we couldn't eat bugs that because you don't. You don't get stuck twice in your coat. You just get a full in the Runtime oil we're dead. Yeah. Now, thankfully, how the thing that we re that we were writing was basically 'Data processing back job. So when it crashed, it just race dotted and probably the next time. So it was irregular crashing wouldn't give that reproduce completely. It was completely random. It was. It was really bad. It was annoying. Sorry, we basically at that point throughout my hands and win win aid. We like we like this way of deploying things. We like using DACA. We wanna find something that will run better on on links and at the time f- shop dot net Coleman thing it to f- shop lagged behind on on dot net corridor. Those, yeah, it's still a bit behind, but I think it's probably good enough now that you could use it. And if we had it at the time, maybe would have, we would have stayed on shop. But a we sort of looked around and we went, okay, what are the things we about shop where we like all of the pure functional, immutable all that stuff. What we like the our stuff. Why don't we do all these exercises to learn functional programming techniques do them in Haskell like we had like lunch group who going through the Haskell programming from fist principles, which is a really, really good book for leading FA from the inning. And that's all in Haskell. So we will will, why don't we just try doing this in Haskell instead the lunch group to a solution, yes are like, say sake the have, I think to hack Athans a year, firmer correctly. So that was a hack loan coming up who had three is we could buy do with what we wanted. So like, well, why don't we try putting the core of our application from shop into Haskell and say, whether we can write the business logic? Can we write tests? Can we do a service coal? Can we raid some say in our can we do a bit of Rijeka and we sort of all of us went off and picked up one of those things and try to do it. And what we found was that the core business logic look very, very similar and Haskell to what. It. It didn't f- shop is by flanges have similar taxes of calls in the end. They will both m. l. m. l. ish based in they've got block intaking in that sort of stuff in the hold that thought right there. While we take moon for this very.
