And I'm Julie Krafchick. We're active daters turned dating sociologists. Here to dive into everything modern dating and relationships. Welcome to the datable podcast. Happy September, everyone. Where did this year go? Flying by. Did we end up in September already? I feel like we're I'm barely writing 2023 on anything. I feel like time always goes so fast. It's like slow in the day. And then when you look at it cumulatively, you're like, how did another year go by? I mean, you just turned 40. But you're now getting closer to 41. Oh, it's so wild. But I get feel like we should close the loop on our Joshua Tree slash Palm Springs trip because we were so excited about going we're doing this like datable retreat, the two of us lay out by the pool and dream big, then a hurricane decides to grace California Southern unprecedented and we were warned that first was like a category four to seek shelter and the desert, you know, high desert was like high warning because of flooding. So we canceled our trip sadly, or postponed, I should say. I know. Hopefully this wasn't a bad omen. It's okay. It's new. We are going in September. It's actually going to be better weather. Palm Springs in August is kind of brutal. So maybe it all worked out for the best. And I will say like ability to get refunded on travel was pretty freaking seamless for this. Yeah. So we were lucky enough. We're staying at Airbnb of U .S. friends. She was able to refund us. We rebooked. Same with my flights. Very easy. So yeah, I was unfortunate. Also, the two days that we were going to be there for the two days of the hurricane. So I'm kind of torrential rain. Kind of glad we didn't do it because, you know, the whole point of Palm Springs is to be in the pool, in the sun. Yeah. We were just kind of going to be sitting at home in torrential rains. Like I'd be flying to a hurricane. Into the eye of the hurricane, which is not the best idea. But this just shows the difference in our personalities. Because when you first called me, be like, do you think we should still go? I remember just being like, you're being super vigilant. I think it's totally fine. It's just, we've never seen a hurricane in Southern California. It's totally fine. And then I turn on the news. It's like, seek shelter. The grocery stores were out of toilet paper, water, everything like chargers, flashlights. Everything was gone. And I'm like, oh, shit. This is like a real thing. If you hadn't said something to me, I would not have thought it was as bad as it was going to be. I will not take credit if my mom did not say something to me. I was also ready to board that plane. So, you know, I think it's just being alert. And I talked to you about the hurricane. You're like, oh, it'll, it won't be a big deal. It'll be fine. So then when she was messaging me, I'm like, no, it'll be fine. And then after I like kind of brushed it off, I did do some research. I'm like, do I really want to go down for this? Like, it really does not look fine. Yeah. Yeah. And also it's like SF was experiencing like the best weather possible. I'm just like, why? But it's okay. We will have our retreat. It's going to be beautiful out. It's going to be amazing. I'm very excited. But the hurricane did not stop us from bringing you the next episode. What would you call him? He's not like a, he's not like an idol. Is he an idol to you? I don't know. Okay. So we got an email from our guest today, Evan Marquette's booking agents, and we get a lot of emails from booking agents, a lot of them, so many, in fact, and this immediately caught my eye because I remembered when I was in the thick of dating, this is probably when I was, I don't know, like 25, 26, maybe 20, actually 26, 27, when I was 25, I moved here definitely wasn't dating was more just like hooking up, having fun, but then got into this mode. All my friends wanted to suddenly settle down and I'm like, Oh, maybe I should try these dating apps also. And my best friend from college that lives in SF Bay area too, she had this random roommate at the time that was probably 10 years older than us. And she had this binder, this really thick binder that was like how to online date. And we were just, we were immersed. Like, I mean, this was okay. Like I, we already said, I just turned 40. So this is over 15 years ago, right? Like this is a long time ago. And this binder was just held the secrets to online dating. I'll call it online dating. It wasn't even dating apps. We had to use match .com, jdate, eHarmony, all those are the old school data gaps. And this guy was the author of the binder, Evan Marquette, and she had gone to his workshops. This roommate, I honestly don't even remember the roommate's name, I will remember her always for introducing us to Evan Marquette. She just spoke so highly of him because she had gone to all his like online dating seminars and she passed the gospel down. She passed the gospel down to my friend. And then we started like reading about him online. We got his eBooks, you know, we started really getting into all of his stuff. And I will say he was one of the first dating coaches that felt like he was really at the end of the day, trying to put you first because before him, I had read all the dating books, why men love bitches, the rules, all the terrible dating books that basically tell you to be someone else. And this was the first time I was hearing you are amazing. You are just taking this, right? Like you are standing for things that you shouldn't be standing for. And it was a very different approach. Like his whole, I guess, demographic is like smart, successful women is his primary demographic. I think everything he says on this podcast applies to everyone, regardless of your gender, your sexual orientation, it's applicable to all. But just to put into context, that is his primary demographic. So I think, you know, like he had a lot of ways to combat a lot of the dating advice that hetero women have been fed for years. I think it's hilarious that the binder is about how to online date. Yeah, it's a physical binder.

Tech Path Crypto
A highlight from 1226. Crypto Technical Analysis | Evan Aldo Bullish!
"All right, so today we're going to dive into, of course, the charts and, of course, it's going to be fun because we've got one of our friends and neighbors back in the house. Great to be on. It was boring for July, very flat, but finally some action, so it's exciting. All right, you guys are going to love it. I think you guys are going to get some big alpha today, so make sure and tune into the whole show. My name is Paul Beran. Welcome back in the Tech Path. All right, let's get into it today. Evan, first thing I want to jump on to is all of this noise around the most recent wallet moves around Bitcoin. I'll jump to this first tweet. This was a little bit around the Bitcoin wallet that had accumulated a lot of Bitcoin since May. A lot of people were jumping to conclusion that this was a BlackRock wallet, that there was a lot of scenarios that were playing out, but it's basically $3 billion over about three months. Now, there is also some indicators that this may have been actually a Robinhood wallet. And if you look at this chart right here, it shows the actual accumulation layer of Bitcoin for the Robinhood wallet, which goes right in line with, as you'll notice right up there in the top left hand, this came from Arkham Intelligence. If you guys have used Arkham before, it's basically kind of like reverse engineering wallet address, so it can track wallet movements. And sure enough, $3 billion over the last three months. So maybe a little Bitcoin, a little bit of the Bitcoin FUD out there to drive the market, maybe it worked today. Yeah, a little bit, a little bit. That's interesting. I didn't see that. But yeah, I mean, there's always a lot of those, sometimes they'll show you something, sometimes not. Exactly, exactly. When you look at the charts right now in terms of Bitcoin, and you look at where the markets, because we just are having a pump currently as we're recording this, what do you see right now in the short term versus, say, maybe over the next 30 to 60 days? Yeah, I'll start with the short term here because it's a little bit more interesting. Obviously we have, if you're looking at real short term timeframes, the two hour looks pretty good. You have a nice double bottom that you saw here, right around a big area, right around 25, which is a huge area. Money flow coming up on the two hour, you get your little trigger wave right down there. So most likely, if we kind of map out from our double bottom pattern, technical target could bring us up to approximately around high 26s, almost 27K. If we move our spiral lines a little bit, this area, low 27Ks could be huge. I would say to be safe, take some profits at high 26s, which does seem pretty likely. The other thing I'm looking at for the short term here is actually on the 10 hour, that's a nice bullish div. We have momentum waves coming down as price is coming, momentum waves coming up as price is coming down on Bitcoin. That usually does break upward and the fact that we got above this point, this is a huge area at 26 .3, a volume area low, that's pretty bullish because we're breaking back through that point. So it's a bullish sign. If we lose this though, that's where things get more bearish. That's a good place below, leave some wiggle room below here is a good place for a stop loss if you're trying to go long. I was looking at the sentiment basically on Bitcoin. If you guys are following our CPI, this was an interesting level off period because right here over the last 10 days, we saw sentiment, of course, coming down from this drop, which we were really pegging almost back to that high around 63. This was back in early August, back to now where we are now. And the interesting thing was is that amplification kind of leveled off here, which was a good indicator that we might start to see some upward movement because typically what we've seen is when amplification starts to level off like that, there's only one place in most cases for it to go and it's usually been up. So right now with it being up a little bit, you're longing this right now. I am longing this. But don't get mad at me if it gets stopped. I made a lot of money shorting. So if this one fails, it's not a big deal. All right. So longing Bitcoin right now. Okay. So a couple of things that play into this. Macro we're going to get into in a second. We'll break down a few things that are kind of leaning into where the overarching markets are. Before we jump over to that, I want to go back to Robinhood for a second because I was looking at this story right here. Robinhood turned profitable. This was in quarter two, but their crypto revenues are and are declining, even though now we could be actually seeing some accumulation in Robinhood's wallet. If you look at hood, the stock, where do you see that stock going in comparison, I'd look at it versus say if you wanted to leverage against say Coinbase? That's an interesting one. Let's go to the chart real quick with Robinhood. I think it's a real good thing. I think ultimately the fundamentals are pretty good, becoming profitable. That's really good. When I look at the charts, I think we're still really struggling. So right here when you see this is some type of kind of like off accumulation pattern, first bottom, second bottom, kind of third bottom right there, making higher lows, which is pretty good. If you do break out of this point, you're able to break back above, what is it, around $11, you might have a technical target up here around $18. Keep in mind some of these high wicks around $16 could be pretty big as well. We look at market side for a little bit kind of on the macro, what could happen here. Does look like you may have some more downside momentum, especially with the weekly, if that money flow wants to come down and the S &P 500 comes down more. I would say it's likely that we would do what we've always done, come back down to potentially $8. But I do think eventually you're going to break upward, whether it's a year from now or six months from now, wherever it may be, you're eventually probably going to break up to around that target at $18. So long term, next couple of years, very bullish. Yeah. So hood trading right now at $10 .50, about, but has had a nice little move over the past couple of days. When you look at that low right there, we're talking about 6%, almost 7 % on that move. In to comparison Coinbase, of course, having a little bit of a spike, this is on the four hour right here. So again, is this a good spot for you to maybe to enter into something like a Coinbase? If you look at Coinbase, it has been on the decline with Bitcoin because it goes kind of like the way of Bitcoin. If you were investing in Bitcoin or hood, because that's kind of the comparison here, which one would you take? Bitcoin or hood. I mean, if I like the fundamentals of Bitcoin. When I say Bitcoin, I mean Coinbase. Coinbase or hood. Oh, man, that's tough, Paul. Whatever has a lower market cap, probably, in terms of more upside potential. That's going to be Robinhood, I think. Probably Robinhood a little bit. But if you look at Coinbase, let's take a look at the chart right here in Coinbase. This one's interesting because we broke out of this reverse head and shoulders and we had our technical target, which was a little bit higher. It was right around $137, however, we zoom in here, look at this major point where we rejected back in August of 22, 114. About a year later, we couldn't come back above that point. So that's kind of a bearish sign, at least for the macro, the short term, next few months. Potentially if we do lose this $68 area, that's where it gets more bearish to potentially come back to $50. I think there's a good shot that January bottom could be kind of the bottom. Keep in mind, this does kind of follow Bitcoin. So if Bitcoin goes back to the low 20s, it wouldn't surprise me if this comes back to around $50. If we look at the weekly here, yeah, this was more bearish. I drew this on the weekly. See how these RSIs are coming down? A lot of times when they come down, they continue to come down and you come deeper into the money flow on the red one last time here. And if we're going to estimate kind of where that could bring us up to, down to, it would probably be that 55 point area. I'd say bad recession. Sure, you can make a double bottom or something likely back to the 50s, I would guess. What are your thoughts right now on Bitcoin holding its current, say, in the 25, 28 range right now? Because that's been a trading range that we've had here for quite some time. What's your thought on that one right now? If you look at what kind of pressures we are seeing here from the macro side. So let's take a look at the macro chart right now. I think it's kind of unlikely that we're, for the next week or so, we do have Powell speaking on Friday, that could kind of wrench into the pump up, my guess here. But kind of what we're seeing is, I just look at the macro here, what normally happens. This bear market 2015, double bottom. This is very interesting here. In August of 2015, you came down 37 % for Bitcoin, but that was it, you were done. So if we do dump down farther, potentially, in the next week or so, next couple of weeks, that could be kind of it theoretically. Sometimes these big moves happen quickly. I think the 300 weekly moving average is a big place right here. And what I want to show you is on the three week right here, we have a trigger wave to the down point, very similar to this three week trigger wave to the down point last September of 2019. If we map it out like this, I'm not going to count the pandemic, but if we map it out like this, that would bring us right to around 21K. Your 300 weekly moving average, let's get that up right here, is going to be around that same area, low 20s, which we could potentially hit that September, October. Keep in mind, pre -election years, Bitcoin and traditional markets towards the end of them are very bearish. And then in the election year, you do better. So I would say more downside potential next few months. And then into the halvening, we're going to do a lot better, I think. Yeah, interesting. A couple of things that could cause more pressure on Bitcoin, along with other traditional assets out there. Right now, just in from the COBEECY letter, interest rate cuts now no longer expected to begin until June 2024. That's quite a bit longer into the cycle of 2024. Also times well with the halvening, which is in May.

A highlight from What is Living Water? Water Revitalization vs Water Filtration, Structured Water Deep Dive - Jonathan Butts (Natural Action Technologies)
"Biohacking, performance, mastery, mindset, this is a show about getting better every single day. The Hack Life with Joel Evan, welcome to the show. What's up guys? Welcome to the show. Happy Friday. This is a special episode that I'm dropping early. Usually, on Fridays, I like to do a Health Hack Friday episode, but I'm changing the routine this week because I really wanted to drop this important episode this week. Here's why. I interviewed, and you're going to hear this interview about Lifewater from my good friend, Jonathan Butts. He was the CEO of a company called Natural Action Technologies. We're going to get into an episode here that is a little woo -woo. It's going to sound a little almost unbelievable, I think. I want to just do a little quick intro so you have some background to this. I just got back from a two -day camping trip in Idaho. We were in an area where there were geothermal hot springs, and it was amazing because after listening to Jonathan and learning more about water and how there is this life to water. We like to think of it as, oh yeah, it's just H2O, it's just molecules, but he really dives deep in this episode of the difference between a lot of the water we're drinking is stressed out water, believe it or not, or it's just dead water. Think about all the plastic bottles that you're getting. The water is sitting on the shelves. It's just dead, but natural water in its natural environment, it has a life. It actually breathes. It has a charge, and believe it or not, it almost has ... He talks about it. It has this DNA, and it has a memory, actually, that it can even store, so where if you go to a certain place in the world, it has this, and I really felt this kind of energy, this life water when I was in the river over the weekend, and I was in these geothermal hot springs, and we always hear these people entering the hot springs, and then they come out cured of whatever. They've got this, I have no idea, injuries and stuff, and they felt better, so it's really interesting, and so I think this episode is going to be important. Jonathan is a very smart guy, so just stay in tune. Some of it gets a little geeky in the science, but if you stay throughout the whole episode, it will really make a lot of sense, so stay tuned to the end. Also, if you're interested in learning more about Jonathan's company, you can go to www .naturalactiontechnologies, and he's got a great website kind of talking about the education of water. You can sign up, become a member for free, and just learn more about water and the difference between life water and the stress water that I'm talking about, and then also if you're interested in buying some of his technology, because he does home systems, and they just came out with a new shower unit, if you're interested in buying anything from them, Jonathan passed down a coupon code for us. The coupon code is, depending on what products you're getting, it's JoelEvans -10 or JoelEvans -20, depending how on much you spend, so depending on, try either coupon and see which one, depending on what you end up purchasing, so hopefully this was helpful. All right, guys, without further ado, welcome my guest, Jonathan Butts. All right, I'm here with Jonathan Butts. He's the CEO of Natural Action Technology. It's a company that takes dormant dead water and puts life and energy back into it. Jonathan, welcome to the show, man. Thanks, Joe. Glad to be here. Yeah, man, this is going to be a fun one. I think a lot of people, they're thinking, what? What are you talking about, Joel? Dead water? This is just ridiculous. What are you talking about? But I got a chance to meet you in person. We were at the Biohacking Congress event in Las Vegas, and you were kind of blowing my mind with all the things you were talking about, and I've seen a lot of some of the health folks talking about this idea of structured water, and we know some of the folks from Somavetic and our good friends at Leelacue, but yeah, maybe just to start off, kind of tell people, how did you even get started in water? I guess it was more of a mechanical industrial direction, so I'm not coming at it from anything's alive or intelligent or sacred or none of that. I'm just going, this is a substance, and we're changing it into a different form that was unique in itself, pretty mind -blowing. So it actually started with fuel mileage and automobiles, and I had a history with racing and race engines, and so there was an engine side to it that I was really passionate about in racing. It was kind of my main study in life after the nuclear power field, so I've always been around water mechanics and engines and this type of thing, power generation, and so my family business on one hand said, hey, we need a new product for the steel mill, see if you can conjure anything up, and on the other hand, somebody approached me and said, hey, you're really good with engines, and we got this technology we want you to test to see if it's worth investing in. And so I put it on the automobile and did the whole assembly, and basically you put water in a cell, and you put it over to the engine, and you retune the engine, and I didn't, I was kind of 50 -50 on it, I had an open mind, but I was like, yeah, I've heard about this stuff, but I highly doubt this is gonna do anything, and to my dismay, like without much effort, immediately you could feel the change in the engine, and then I went on to verify that, yes, indeed, you can reduce emissions and increase fuel mileage with this addition, and a lot of people automatically drop to calling it hydrogen, but if you do a fuel calculation on the amount of hydrogen we're putting into the engine, the amount of energy it has, and add it to the engine equation, it does nothing. So like the normal calculations in physics and, you know, energy balance equations that you would look at engineering -wise, so every engineer in the world is doing a hydrogen addition equation, and going, no, this wouldn't work, just like I did, and so, but I did it to go, well, what if this isn't hydrogen? What would, because there's oxygen in here too, so what is this substance? So I put it in the laboratory, and I took it out of the vehicle, and there's so much politics in the fuel mileage, and the oil, and the, you know, the oil dollar, and all that, and people's vehicles, you know, you're the last person to touch it, and you're the one who broke it, and I'm like, there's no way this is going to be a good industry, but I wonder if this would be good for the steel mill. I wonder what this substance is, you know, so I didn't know anything about it, didn't know any history of it, nothing, and I just took the system, put it outside, and put it through a torch nozzle, and I lit it, and the moment I lit it, I knew my world changed, because what I was watching was not normal combustion, and what it turned out to be was an electrical discharge that's implosive, and so I didn't really know much about studying implosion neither, and then I got on to Victor Schauberger, I did a bunch of tests to show that this was actually just a water vapor that's highly charged, so it's basically like a vapor that's like a battery, so you put energy into the vapor, and what normally when in all of our science we're away from the source, but like radiation, right, that's the type of movement, it's going from a center outward in all directions, and that's the problem with energy efficiency today, whether we're talking about a biological system, or a automobile, or a turbine plant, power generation plant, right, so basically the energy is always trying to escape, and it doesn't go where we intend it, and you have these really low efficiencies, and that's what they put in all the textbooks, now we have a case for the first time where I observed something that was imploding, which means it's accelerating and concentrating towards the reaction point, which is the opposite of going away from outward out of control, the simple analogy would be pushing on a string, or pulling on a string, if you pull on the string it gets organized, and follows the source of movement, if you push on the string it just bundles up, and won't go where you want it to go, so that's like the simple analogy I would put.

They say it's a thin line between love and hate, but we're working every day to thicken that line or at least make it a double or triple line. Now here's your line jumping host, Eric Metaxas. Folks, welcome back. I'm talking to my friend Keith Junta and we're talking about this ministry. It's so beautiful. Wipe Every Tear. You can find it at wipeeverytear .org. And if you're just tuning in, Keith, you and others, you go into the Philippines and you rescue young women from the sex trade. It is just, I mean, I have to say, you know, listening to it, obviously I've never done this and I think it's really brave of you. It's a big deal to go into these extremely spiritually dark environments and to do this. And I just want to say thank you to you and to all those who do this because this is, it's real. It works. You are changing lives about as dramatically as lives can be changed. And you don't have to do this. You can just play golf. I could. And, you know, a common question you touched on it right there is, is it dangerous? You walk into a bar and now you're taking their product away. I mean, if you do this, I would assume that, you know, the local mafia, I don't know what they call it in the Philippines, but I mean that, you know, the pimps, the people making money off of this, these bars, whatever, you're their enemy. Yeah. They tell the girls, we've heard that Kenny's picture is in some of the dressing rooms in these bars. And now Kenny is the head of this ministry, the founder of Wipe Every Tear. They have his picture up in there and the traffickers. So get the irony of this, the demonic twisted nature of the traffickers telling the girls, Oh, Wipe Every Tear, they're organ harvesters. You don't want to go with them because they will take your organs and sell them. And so that's how they paint us. Now, one of the ways that we've been able to battle that is through a feeding program. So today partnered with a church called Church So Blessed, such a cool name for a church, Church So Blessed. We partner with them 600 meals a day, fresh hot meals, put in little boxes, bags. The van pulls up in the center of the strip and we walk and deliver six days a week. And so these people that want our organs are feeding us, why, to fatten us up? Or maybe they actually do love us. Maybe they're actually good people since they're feeding us. And the feeding program has not only, you know, Lord, when did we see you hungry? When did we feed you? I tell you, when you did it to the least of these, you did it to me, not for me, by the way. It was two. And so that feeding program, it feeds their bellies, but it has also given us one more inroad because ministering at night in the bars, it's loud. It's smells. There's bad stuff happening. Late afternoon, you're bringing the meals. The girls come out and they eat and you get to talk with them and they get our card and they get to learn more about this. Well, you talk about revival happening. In other words, this is more than just a few isolated incidents. There's a movement. Something is happening. When I went on this trip, my third one, I said, Lord, I, we can do this, right? As Christians, we want the testimonies. I want that great story. I want three great stories. And ultimately, why do we often want them? Because it makes us look good, right? I was really struck with that on this trip. I said, Lord, you're going to do what you do. You're going to rescue these girls. You're going to transform. But I want to see beyond just the take home stories because I've got a ton of them. They're incredibly engaging. But Lord, is revival bigger than just that? You know, was Billy Graham's effect just really the number of people that came forward and made a decision for Christ or was something happening in the nation that was far greater? Yeah. We're in seeing Angela City, because we're on the street six days a week feeding people, we send teams in there four or five times a year. We're in the bars at night. We have been warring in the unseen world for the glory of God to come upon this place. So we were there on this trip Saturday night. We worshiped, got onto the strip, and it was surprisingly not crowded. It's a Saturday night. This is the peak time for exploitation. And we're walking down the streets like this is kind of, it's not how I remember. And we went into a bunch of the bars and we were letting the Bethel team do a lot of the ministering, but we were in the bars as well. And I noticed there's more girls dancing than there are men in the seats. What's going on? There were empty seats on a Saturday night in these bars. I think that this is, this is strange. Sunday morning, we're staying in a hotel right on the strip. It's right around the corner. And it's quite frankly where men bring the girls to do their exploitation with. And so we're used to that. So we would wake up for breakfast, go up to the rooftop buffet, and that's where we would minister to men. So all the men would be, they don't travel in packs. They tend to be isolated. Oh, I was going to say, travel alone. The shame, because there's shame, and it's just so awful. And so there will be men scattered around the rooftop buffet, and we would get to know them. We would sit with them. We would minister God's love for them. And I know that sounds so counter, so counter -cultural. But look, on the one hand, you want to kill them. But then when you understand these men, these exploiters are broken. They're sinners and God loves them and wants them to repent and to change. And so it's perfectly correct that you would try to reach them with the love of Jesus. And you find out they were abused as kids. They're divorced three times. Their wife cheated on them. Their kids have abandoned them. Again, only Satan builds an empire where everybody is just broken and tragically lost. But Sunday morning, we're up in the breakfast area. There was no men. This is Sunday morning. This is after the biggest night of the week. There were no men having breakfast. Is the idea that this trade not flourishing anymore? We look around and there's worship music, not just playing in a Muzak speaker. On a big PA, worship music is blasting on the roof. And it's not because, had nothing to do with us. They didn't know we were there. So I go over to the waitress. I go, what is this music? And she goes, oh, it's my playlist. I said, they let you play this? Oh, yes, yes. And I said, do you love Jesus? She goes, oh, I love Jesus. And we realized, like you said, the leading indicators for trafficking right now don't look good in Angeles. And I do believe the years of worship, the years of feeding, the years of praying. We anoint the door. When we walk into a bar, we anoint it with oil before we walk in. This stuff has effect. We're not going there just to get a list. Who made a decision for Christ? You know, Evan Roberts talks about the great Welsh revival, and he talks about how everything changed. It wasn't just salvation. Right? Look, that's page one of the gospel, right? That's page one, right? God is writing a whole book once you're. And Evan talked about how the pubs emptied, crime diminished, and the horses no longer responded to vocal commands. Why? Because the men stopped swearing.

Sen. Ron Johnson on Blinken's Lies About Meeting With Hunter Biden
"Dive right into it. I see here new emails show Tony blinken line to the U.S. Senate under oath about meeting with Hunter Biden, senator tell us about it. Well, Charlie, well, what he lied about is that he said he didn't ever email Hunter Biden. Remember, center grass and I were investigating Hunter Biden late 2019, early 2020. Remember December 2019, the FBI took possession of his laptop to 2020 was COVID. It wasn't easy to do an investigation. People wouldn't come in for interviews, but a number of people from the State Department did come in for interviews. We actually had an interview scheduled with Anthony blinken. Remember, he was deputy Secretary of State. And at some point in time, he decided to cancel that. The election happens, and then lo and behold, because he wanted to become Secretary of State, he decided to come in for an interview. And so we transcribed in and if you ask them all kinds of questions, we are primarily concerned about the May 27th meeting that he had scheduled with hunter, which got canceled because bull Biden died, I think, three days later. But then the follow-up meeting, a launch immediately occurred in July of 20 21. Of 2020. And so we want to ask him, what did he and hunter talk about and what he told us? No, it's just golf and grandkids. It's going to be golf and grandkids, just like Lois Lerner, remember that not low sort of Loretta lynch with Bill Clinton. Just golf and grandkids. Right. So again, they talked about Boeing. So how can you really press them too hard on that when you're talking about the tragedy of losing a brother? But during that interview, we asked him point blank. What kind of communications do you have with hunter? I mean, did you talk to him on the phone? He said he really didn't. We asked him, well, do you communicate him through email and text? And he said, no, now what we've seen because of the Hunter Biden laptop is we have emails where Anthony blinken was emailing Hunter Biden and probably even worse. His wife, Evan Ryan, is her name. She worked for the State Department also under Obama.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that once the U.S. formerly designates gershkovich as wrongly being detained, the State Department can then start negotiating for his release. In my own mind, there's no doubt that he's being wrongfully detained. By Russia, which is exactly what I said to foreign minister Lavrov when I spoke to him. Over the weekend. Biden to Russia on detained US journalist: 'Let him go'
"President Biden is urging Russia to free a detained U.S. journalist. The message is simple. Let him go. The president pushing Russia to release The Wall Street Journal's Evan gerskovic, whom Moscow arrested on espionage charges. It's the first time an American journalist has been detained on spying accusations since the Cold War. The Biden administration calls the charge ridiculous and the targeting of Americans unacceptable, asked if he'd retaliate by expelling Russian diplomats or journalists from the U.S.. That's not the plan right now. Sagar Meghani, Washington.

I don't think he <Speech_Male> that's what he's <Speech_Male> saying. Carlos is saying <Speech_Male> this. If banks <Speech_Male> are bad, <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> Bitcoin <Speech_Male> good. <Speech_Male> Yeah. Go <Speech_Male> good. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> Other alternatives <Speech_Male> are going to start <Speech_Male> to see. <Speech_Male> As <Speech_Male> I keep <Speech_Male> saying, is that <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> if the <Speech_Male> bank situation <Speech_Male> the contagion. And if you <Speech_Male> listen to BlackRock <Speech_Male> and fake. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> This guy usually <Speech_Male> has tomorrow's newspaper <Speech_Male> in his back pocket. <Speech_Male> I feel like <Speech_Male> and he's pretty much <Speech_Male> put the gauntlet down saying, <Speech_Male> listen, this is a slow roll. <Speech_Male> We're going to hit more. <Speech_Male> And if we <Speech_Male> do hit more, <Speech_Male> the problem <Speech_Male> is that in <Speech_Male> remember 2008, <Speech_Male> we <Speech_Male> did not have social media. <Speech_Male> In <Speech_Male> 2008, it had <Speech_Male> we had social media, <Speech_Male> we would have accelerated <Speech_Male> what took two <Speech_Male> years <Speech_Male> to readjust <Speech_Male> will take <Speech_Male> now three to 5 <Speech_Male> months <Speech_Male> because of just social <Speech_Male> media in general. <Speech_Male> Just because people, <Speech_Male> you know, this <Speech_Male> will blow up in seconds, <Speech_Male> a bank will be <Speech_Male> the minute that <Speech_Male> somebody can get money out <Speech_Male> of a bank, <Speech_Male> you can bet <Speech_Male> that's going to be on Instagram <Speech_Male> TikTok and Twitter <Speech_Male> like crazy, <Speech_Male> which will then there's going to <Speech_Male> be amplify. Then <Speech_Male> you get the bankrupt. My <Speech_Male> exaggerated and some banks <Speech_Male> will be okay. That's <Speech_Male> what happened to SVB. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> So I <Speech_Male> would agree. Peter Schiff's <Speech_Male> optimistic, <Speech_Male> more optimistic <Speech_Male> of <Speech_Male> Bitcoin <SpeakerChange> than Evan. <Speech_Male> I don't think <Speech_Male> he is. He's the most. <Speech_Male> I am <Speech_Male> pretty optimistic. <Speech_Male> Well, you know, he said <Speech_Male> something in a tweet yesterday <Speech_Male> we featured it. He says, <Speech_Male> Peter Schiff actually <Speech_Male> said Bitcoin and <Speech_Male> gold would <Speech_Male> benefit in the <Speech_Male> same tweet. <Silence> I <Speech_Male> don't think that's ever been done. <Speech_Male> We might want <SpeakerChange> to make an <Speech_Music_Male> embarrassing. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> And Peter Schiff said it could <Speech_Male> go to a hundred K <Speech_Male> and <SpeakerChange> then what <Speech_Male> happened? All <Speech_Male> right, well we're getting into <Speech_Male> no man's land. <Speech_Male> Now we're talking <SpeakerChange> Kramer <Speech_Male> territory. <Speech_Male> When dealership starts <Speech_Male> getting bullish on <Speech_Male> Bitcoin, that's <SpeakerChange> the issue. <Speech_Male> There's rumor Evan <Speech_Male> that they're getting <Speech_Male> a <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> reverse Evan <Speech_Male> ETF going. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> Well, <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> called <Speech_Male> 22 K I didn't think <Speech_Male> we'd go this high <Speech_Male> and then we'll see. There are other examples historically of teams that have won championships with minimum. Okay regular season games. And you know shaq kobe. Derek fisher different circumstance. I get it not thrown together at cetera et cetera but nonetheless limited regular season. So you know listen. I don't think there's a professional sports league in the country that doesn't have concerns about viewership than long term viability. Where do we go next. And so you know. I is one that does watch so much. Nba basketball. They don't have to worry about me. I don't think the nfl has one worry now. Have not one worry the nfl basically you know that's true. That's very true. Gotta bring struck from the network. And i feel it hasn't been talked enough talked about enough or maybe i'm just not paying attention and has been but you know this. They had they didn't really have an off-season from the bubble to starting the season because everything was obviously thrown out of whack because of covid Do you think that's having an effect on the lakers. Now on brana they. They obviously won the finals of add to go deep very quick off season. Any lingering effect you thinking. I think it's not a factor i mean. Look at the i. People considered to have top five skills on both ends of the floor. That's anthony davis. Unlisted his injury history you know is what it is And maybe it's because he's a big man at the size and skill level years But you know the source in the achilles they the now growing issue Listen i don't know. And i think the league has some information regarding you know we. We haven't had more soft muscle injuries this year. Relative to last or it is it's negligible or whatever the case may be. Here's what i know unequivocally that when we sat down with coaches and players be obviously all year. Long what i would tell you is and we discussed this. As announced jeans. You could feel the weight of the way. These players coaches had to do this season. It was hard it was hard and it was physically hard and will that play a part ultimately who wins the championship. who knows. i don't know that that's quantifiable. But i would say that the people going through it and you can feel the weight of that now. They are the ones who made the decision right. There were financial implications and they bus chose to do it this way but certainly certainly you can feel what the season felt like from them you can you can hear and read it in their comments going to search before we wrap up but you mentioned social media earlier do you. We would travel over the course of the winter. But i have to say espn and the nba did such a great job of sort of place high enough up. Plexiglass between us you know you. Do you have to live in. You have to continue to do your job. And a variety of circumstances. And it's not as though we're frontline workers right. We are so well protected Show prior to being fully vacs to slight anxiety but now No and now. I'm finding myself. I went to the grocery store this morning. And i forgot a mask and i saw the sign of food. Something like you know if you double ax. You don't need it was interesting to me is so many people inside. Were still wearing masks. I almost felt guilty or is running for two things. I didn't run back out. I can feel it. I can feel it to move in. I part of me wishes. You didn't bring this up. Because i am obsessed with the whole mass. No mass situation that we're in right now. 'cause when this week with every store has a different role in my. I'm driving my friends crazy. 'cause i text them at every store i go in with what the policy is and where it's crazy because i i texted a buddy of mine. Who lives out in yesterday. And i was at a bunch of stores yesterday i would say here on long island nassau county. Ninety nine percent of the people are still wearing masks in stores and my friend back who's in denver and he said ninety nine percent of the people where he is or not. It's amazing how every area is so different on all this you know and i feel bad for the people who work in the stores because someone one store said you know the policy is like if you're vaccinated..

If they're being asked to wear a mask and now they're being let back into public places with people. And i just think i don't. I wish i could see this as just being okay. We had a bad week here in the nba. I think this just keeps going and that. That's what i think like you said. I don't know what the answer is. But the commissioners are someone's got to figure something out because it's not going to get better. I don't think. But hopefully this. Because i yesterday was assured of a busy day. Assume i didn't have time to follow up but someone mentioned to me that the charge against the gentlemen in boston who through the water bottle was quite significant assaults and with a heavy penalty relative to what what he was charged with end. Honestly you know there's only two deterrent sometimes one of pocketbooks right affect people's money. That's one way but then obviously legal legal troubles could be a second way. And maybe it's just about giving the harshest penalty possible and you can say it's relative well for popcorn whatever. Don't behave that way. Simple amazon right right. That's that's you know people saying the popcorn's not a big deal or kyrie had a coming just again does not the way you're supposed to behave. It's not people adding way too much into it. It's a very black and white thing. I think you behave a certain way. And that's no gray here. Just me. I do want to talk basketball stuff. But since we've sort of. You had a year ago end of march and carp street who is a colleague of yours at espn. Like when i know for sure i'll just tell them like right out like that fall is outside not even close And then go back to doug on. Hold them right. You know you feel like you're you're right when you're on your That right now. Obviously you're going to be a little biased here because you're hitter. But now we've got this whole thing with the pitcher scuffing the ball and using illegal substances foreign substances ever. You wanna call it. Do you think it's being done more now than ever. Do you think people just talking about it and it's always been done sort of the same amount i think. I think it's being done the same amount but i think what the big issue is is. The substances that are being used are better. Write this down right. Yeah this is what i'm curious about. Break this down for me. And i think and listen. I'm not a pitcher. Like you said. I have dougie exactly what's being used but i mean i can tell you that like if you look at the numbers like the spin rates are higher than they've ever been by unknown guys making jumps from you know. I think it's probably physically possible to like you know. Make a hundred or two hundred. Rpm jump you know based on like maybe mechanics or like you know figure out how to hold the ball differently or good pitching coach or whatever but like some of the jumps that we're seeing and spin rate Are like through the roof. You know guys just and you know. The i think the the scientific analysis of it or like the You know the the reason why becomes incrementally more difficult to hey guys when they spin the ball is because everything like a fast array when it's spinning the same it every pitch look the same so like if you can throw a basketball at at you know twenty eight hundred rpm and a breaking ball eight hundred.

It's an eight to one game in the eighth inning and our game You guide Not just jared walsh. Jared walsh's hitting big big left handed hitter. Everybody shifted over. You know and let's just say for sake of the argument. Jared walsh is hitting you know to ten like he's not he's raking like whatever let's just say sitting and the guy wants to get a base hit of eight to one in a like who's to say that like he can't like dragged on and try and get on you know like we're all everybody's playing for money your contract you know like whatever to stay in the big leagues like at you know. Give any example. You want in rural. Say that that's you know you shouldn't do that right. Like that's just not something you do now. I probably agree and that situation. But like on the flip side of it is i if we don't want to give him a basic then. Why should we be allowed to ship right. And i knew when i started there would be some objections to my presence as it relates to. You know people saying what. She's never played or coached this level which she doing. Their sites are member having a lot of anxiety and it took me years to settle in to just settle in and allow myself to have fun and say some people are going to like your style and others aren't and ms reilly really not much. You can control about that suggest. You know you love this suggest. It's okay to like enjoy and have fun and it took me a long time to learn that. How did that turn out. Did you feel like rejection from men. Who want you in that industry. Was it worse than you expected what you expected. Not as bad as you expected. Listen ask any woman in the business. I i don't want to cut you off. I just i know this i. I'm a big yankee fan. And i interviewed susan waldman. I followed a career. I mean but she got spit on in locker room. So i would hope by the time it was your turn to move up through the ranks you on experiencing obviously you're gonna experience blowback but hopefully wasn't as bad as you got a little better over the years and i've said this about women like suzy or jack mcmullen courtside You know they carved the path and experience things that i have not experienced. Say there's a little bit of anxiety there. But i'd never like been perfect. It's not as though i'm a mistake. Free broadcast ronald think anybody is. Nobody is and so But no i never you know set. I want exposition live position. I'm a oxide this also many times. Forgive people for who purview. Talk about this like i'm a believer in divine providence. Like us way of getting you where you're supposed to be I think there's a proverb that says something like You know you have nothing. That's not directed from about You know so seriously. I i feel so fortunate to be calling nba games. I mean think about it like a kid from the jersey shore with the ball on her hands after watching college basketball running out between the hedges of my parents home and then go into that court and sort of reliving. What i had just watched on tv. And i'm calling in the basketball. It's really it's really. I feel incredibly lucky. I just wanted to you know. I feel like so many women in this industry site you as a role model. So that's why. I thought maybe you know getting to the ultimate peak of television analysts for an mba. Finally be those like. I also am uncomfortable. I appreciate an always appreciated with these women. Say to me number one like they are professional and competent. And what. I love about this next generation of women is you know they feel like they belong now they know they belong now and i just love love their presence. I have talked about this. Kansas parker sits up on the set of tnt. And just fits right. Let she's perfect and matches. It gives me joy for the future women. You know it's it has been like societal change. And i don't mean just obviously in sports broadcast in look across our society it can feel as though things move at a glacial pace and so yeah i don't wanna take credit for something i didn't set out to do. I didn't enter this. Because i wanted to be the first exit. I didn't i got this. Because i love the game. That's why right if it ever happened. It'd be a big deal. Be prepared for executives will definitely get going there. If you know rap and begging mark justice might never leave. I gotta get. I got it rolling now but you know how this business is crazy. Changes come about you..

"For me. It was it was it was a i found a challenging experience. Now the one. I did learn and i never really paid attention to this issue. Just get rolling in. You know the calendar calendars moving. You're not paying attention. I'd been on the roads pretty much since nineteen ninety seven. So how much time jimmy. I spent traveling the the preparation packing to get ready. You know the cab to the airport the hour or ninety minutes. You're waiting for your plane. And i just thought i have spent a good portion of my life on the road traveling in hotel rooms and it really was striking to realize the amount of time you spend doing. That's especially nba. Eighty games regular season We talk about marvel just curious when you growing up. But what broadcasters did you enjoy listening to your favorites. Yeah so I loved bill. Raftery i just. I love tim. My first exposure to college basketball announcers was al. And dick enberg and billy packer and all of al's catch phrases and you know the way he would just describe things. I found so appealing. Billy was more straight No al was the flavor. Dick was just really it. So i would tell you that that was the first amounts team that i really paid attention to You know obviously you know listening tomorrow over the course of years. I'm i'm a new york. New jersey kid born and long island raised on the jersey shore. From the time. I was seven and you know it's it's funny. I always say this as i said early. those voices that ringing your head right Why close friend high school. She's still on the jersey shore still a teacher not mind. She swears that at one. Point as kids because defy towel would just started the broadcasting piece. She swears i at one point. Said you know. I'm going to work with him someday. I don't recollect it but it's funny. I ended up on his team for good ears a sideline reporter for college basketball. I i was surprised. I don't know why but when just in doing a little bit of research for the interview. I was surprised to see that you've been. Espn since nineteen ninety-one assets. A for the first game. I called nine hundred ninety one. It was a division three national championship where maybe division to ireland. I think it was division. To north dakota state. I believe so yes star. My association with espn started in nineteen ninety-one very small one or two games a year and sort of just subsequently grew. And i remember the first contract. They offered me the patch. This is years ago would have been nineteen ninety nine and at that point. I'm working for the big east regional network. Not not mad at that when i don't believe oh yeah i was doing a little bit a man doing some men's college basketball but i worked for everybody. I worked for the atlantic ten network. New england sports network geus network Then started to pick up more more. Espn games was the liberty announcer. I've for three years burst..

"Don't have to but when mark cuban was complaining about well what if we don't get to to the six seater or now we have to go all out to get to the succeed in you know late in the season you want to be able to rest guys or whatever not risk injury like that's the whole point six had to work and they have an paid so their credit. I think last i checked. I think they're in sixth right. So they're doing fine. The mavericks are going to be okay. But in the meantime we've had much more interesting things to watch in the day to day jockeying for position i. I cannot see a downside. Are you guys still getting any pushback on this. Or is the league as a whole at the league level team level. Feeling pretty good about the way. This is unfolding right now. I think a few things were certainly. You know you mentioned one team. That has been vocal in their criticism. And we're certainly getting some of that As we did when we initially discussed having a plan tournament which is if a team over the course of eighty two games earns that what what they felt as earning the seven seed for example. And and when you don't put you know thresholds on these things in terms of the the number of games between seven eight or eight nine you could have a seven c that is significantly better in terms of win loss record than ten seed and there was a feeling some still feel that after having put that body of work for eighty two games the possibility of losing your playoff spot after two losses in a row is is a bit tough right and and we hear that and that's just the trade off of what what we are talking about in terms of benefits The other one that that's been highlighted. This year is interesting because One of the reasons. We felt that the plan was so important. This particular year was we knew there were going to be some inequities resulting from all the issues..

"For you. Chris kiss relationships can subscribe for the best weekly nba content. These two are capable of. What does that mean duo ever. I'll see how you can beat that. You're they are chris mannix and howard back now pleased to be joined by the executive vice president of basketball strategy analytics. Just call them the scheduling. It's more fun title evan. Wash evan how are you. I'm doing well how are you. i'm i'm doing well too can you get scheduling are on your business card. It would take less ink it would save money it would save. Space sounds cooler. We actually have one of those. Tom corral who heads up our scheduling group Is my partner in crime there. So i think we'd have to share. That does his schedules or it might have to check with him next time. Tell adam silver. I want more czar titles in the nba. I don't i cannot figure out for the life of me. Vp senior vp. Like all i don't even know the pecking order of that who's higher. Who's it's it's very confusing to me. I know what czar is charged Noted on my previous podcast. Previous lifetime you and tom. We're on together with me. We talked about schedule a couple times. And it's always fascinating. I thought this would be a great time to bring you on now in the context of this season because we are recording this with about shuwaikh in this weird regular season and it's been the most challenging one. I would assume probably ever for those of you building the schedule and many twists and turns and curves and just just stuff along the way But i actually want to start here because Had a story earlier this week which you and i spoke for last weekend about the plane and the effect it's having on competition late in the season and at the time that i that you and i spoke You said it was actually a record. Twenty four teams. Were still in play for something with fifteen games left as of right now as you and i are recording there are between eight and eleven games. I believe for for all teams in a couple teams. I would say route now. I would say that.

"About loss and we talked about your performance shards and how it's vehicle that helps others deal with their loss. How did you come up with the idea for shirts. And how did it come to be physically right now. The way it is so we made. Ali moved to israel in two thousand thirteen in july of two thousand and thirteen and exactly a year later in july of two thousand fourteen. The gaza war began and there were for the first time in my life. I heard sirens and missiles landing within the vicinity of jerusalem. And i think. I suffered as close to something that we might call. Ptsd as i ever want to. In my entire life there was some days. I couldn't get out of bed the squealing of motorcycle tires on the street. Which sounds a lot like the sirens going off. We'd have literally like go falling to the ground. And i was having lunch with a friend of mine and she said i think you need to speak to somebody and i ended up walking into an office of a therapist and the first thing he said to me he said why are you here. Why did you move to israel and that was very sort of. I don't think anybody ever me that question. I think. I made up lots of reasons but nobody ever asked me the question. And what i discovered was i came from a family of immigrants of sojourner of wanders And that we actually are as jews are wondering people truly wandering people. I started sort of writing down some of these narratives that i had heard that i started to put together and i eventually said that maybe said to a friend of mine. Who's a professional storyteller of actually work with me on another show she said. I think you have the beginnings of a show here and that's how came to be took me about fourteen months to write. The show is a musical so original music included and then i started doing some preview performances and then started taking it out on the road. It's been very very wonderful to share the storytelling adventure with the congregations primarily jewish congregations across the country. So how do you modify that now. Because with covert nineteen. You're doing these online. That's an interesting question. I entered a group of offer for performing and visual artists. Out of organization called intersection for the arts in san francisco. Who having virtual sessions and sort of like sort of like how to artists artists especially performing. What it's going to come out of this and the suggestion was will want you take your show virtual and i said no no no. I can't do virtual storytelling. I need to see people's faces. They need to see me. I need to feel the energy. The audience. And then i said okay. I'm going to try it. And i sort of started doing like sampler shows like just just like thirty five minutes for sort of congregations that i was supposed to be at but couldn't and i realized that actually worked. The energy is different your instead of talking to audience. You're talking to a screen and often you. Don't you know in an audience. Her well behaved when you're on zoom you know you're looking at somebody realize they're going to the refrigerator and grabbing a sandwich but it is different and it has taught me to sort of adapt the show. It also has taught me a new skill. set have to work video. How to work audio. How to have managed lighting how to manage production had a had a may be my own production and marketing company. I'm actually working with production company out of new york city but I do think at some point. I will be back on the road but i for now. We are doing this. Virtually and i'm not alone. The arts have suffered very very substantially during this corona virus. Cova nineteen situation. Everybody has suffered but live. Performance will be one of the last things to return. And i'm happy that i feel very blessed that i have been able to find a forum for sharing my stories and sharing my songs with audiences all around the world that what are the quality traits of being jewish is eternal optimism. And i mean this from the bottom of my heart. I wish you success with that. I hope you do find way back to stage. Where can people learn more about your program. They can find me on facebook Kent on facebook. Only a few of us actually are other cats on instagram. I'm evan i'm the only one evan kept on instagram. There are others but their imposters and then my website. Which is evan can dot com lists performances has video and audio clips and Some reviews and writing about about the show at before we finish up share with us the most important lesson that you've learned that might help others deal with their loss or grief in a healthy way when i was a cantor in synagogue. I unfortunately did many many funerals. That's part of your job would often ask me. When will it get better. And what i learned from my own. Experience listened on the experience of you. Become very close to congregants in a congregation. People who have been with you have traveled with you over a couple of generations. And what i learned is that it doesn't get better. It gets different because if the grief diminish totally that means that this sort of the the level of love was knocked there. And i think when we grieve for those who we love the love is there so it gets it gets just gets different. I always say that the letters fade like on a business card. Litters fade a little bit but the imprint is always there and it's very strong and you never know when when greece hits you. I will tell you that my memory of my friend ellen. Mason was that when we were both down the dumps we would go to order washes bakery on the east side and sit and eat raisin pumpernickel roles and to this day if i want to sort of revisit the spirit and the love that we had i will grab a raisin pumpernickel role and that is that is my way of sort of rekindling that friendship and rekindling that love so it doesn't it doesn't It it just gets different. That's what i can leave you with. Well thank you for that and thank you so much coming to the program. Evan can't one man show is called shorts. everyone should please go and run. "Welcome back to imagine twenty twenty. I'm yonaha coutts and today. I'm glad to join by co co founder of ampleforth ebonics of joining. The i'm glad to be here. And i see you're wearing a costume for this halloween themed interview necessary. I i know it's not a very scary costume but this is what had around the house so you'll have to forgive me right. It might be scary if you stand up. Exactly i'm gonna sit. I'm gonna sit camera token upward for those who haven't seen any your past interviews. Who might not know. You wanna give a background kind of who you are and how you got the blockchain. Yeah totally so On my background is in engineering. School at uc berkeley to study kind of mechanical engineering and also computer science got more and more pulled into that direction of robotics but then you know after graduating quickly went into the startup world and eventually kind of Teamed up with my co-founder brandon aisles. He's also kind of a computer scientist. Said he's more of a a google search engineer And the time of a twenty seventeen after therion was really taking off We started to kind of think. About what sorts of applications block chain. Technology might be interesting to explore We had both been introduced to bitcoin years prior. We both kind of didn't fully believe you know it would be as revolutionary as. It wasn't about an interesting and anyways we kind came to this mutual conclusion. That the most salient application of blockchain technology degree the be monies and then began a journey asking what sorts of new monies ought to be created are can be created with this new technology and in particular. We're interested in non. Collateralized currencies like bitcoin as opposed to redeemable collateralized currencies like tether anyways Ampleforth is a cryptocurrency like bitcoin. Except for the number of units in your wallet can increase or decrease does so each day based on price exchange rate so it accepts a price as an input as a proxy for demand. If there's more demand and supply than increase the total supply of ample directly to use our wallets and proportioning there's less A demand and supply than we decrease the quantity of units proportionately from user wallets and the design of this crypto currency was actually meant to address the limitation of fix supply commodity. Money's like gold and bitcoin and along the way We kind of we were. We were funded by a you know. Really kind of reputable leasees were also advised by two members of the hoover institute which is a political and economic thing at stamford in their independent capacities and anyways long story. Short upon further analysis We also realize that this new kind of incentive mechanism or protocol Might introduce a different movement patterns to the space and so that's really interesting because most of these cryptocurrencies very very tightly correlated And it makes it difficult to kind of make them useful. In baskets of collateral assets or to construct you know robust systems on top of it and so two things one we designed it to address the limitations in fix apply money and two we noticed that And hypothesized that it might have novel movement pattern. That could allow to decouple for mass. It's like bitcoin. Which makes it useful for. Diversification at basket of of crypto assets. So that's kind of ampleforth in a nutshell okay. Well it does seem like a like a great idea does addressing those problems. You mentioned You know obviously knipling. The price fight supply and demand. Classic out it's an economic officials. But how do you actually change the amount or the value in actual you can hold it in a in a special wallet. And what a flip on keeping my ample in foot. How does your network right. That's a really great question. Actually that's the kind of the one technical breakthrough here That we take advantage of its The the the ampleforth protocols able to increase or decrease apply across all wallets proportionately without a transaction between pierce and the way that happens is but we adjust this kind of global coefficient of expansion if you will And by adjusting that single variable once every day. It's actually not we do it. But the protocol does so once every day automatically You know the number of units in all wallets whether they're in cold storage or not an increase or decrease now if your wallet your ankles being held on an exchange in the exchange tends to pool these wallet addresses so the jane wallet Quantities will automatically increase in decrease according to the protocol But if somebody's custody in your assets in pulled it then it's the responsibility of the custodian to make sure that the accounting is up to date. Because if you're if you're are in exchange really what's being reflected near-balanced might be just some entry in the database not what's actually directly connected to a wallet because they pull wallet addresses and therefore the certain exchanges that integrated ample have essentially propagated that accounting Into into the wall balances or the balances that are displayed to users. But yeah kind of happens automatically. So that's kind of the novel thing would never in the past people to do that. Like increase or decrease the quantity of units in people's wallets without a transaction between pierce and. That's what allows us to happen in a scalable way with just a single transaction per day And so yeah it's cool. It's elastic and it's also. Non diluted mentioned this earlier like bitcoin.
