"How do you do that in a game that continues to evolve how we can do it with quarterbacks and you you can do quarterbacks in their era. I'm not sure you can i mean because look at how the game is changing rules have changed. Look at what you're asking in terms of throwing the ball in the passing game and the evolution of the passing game look at the technology look at the quarterbacks. Have you know devices in the helmet. When the call the place bar star never had that <hes> when he was playing <hes> look at how the game has changed from the emphasis of the running back look at the great athletes you not have across the board <hes> you got real athletes l. Since the days of lawrence taylor playing outside linebackers linebacker who runs as fast as a as a running back and run you down from behind so you look at all these changes i think the best at least from my standpoint the best i could do and trying to figure out who's a best fit who's the best of a decade and maybe the decade isn't. I'm from the seventies to the eighties. Maybe the decade is from seventy five to eighty five because a rule changes and what happened in the league but jerry rice the greatest receiver volta well well. You guys are always pointing out joe montana steve. I tell i tell the story now. We're going to really put it out there. Okay i tell the story oy. Look jerry rice had these guys who are so accurate throwing the ball in your mind's eye closure is and see jerry rice catching a pass. He's catching it right here right here yards. After catch i mean he could have been born with no arms and still caught a thousand passes this from his quarterback swannee. I mean you know he'll john. I had terry bradshaw. We're diving so so look. I i think jerry rice phenomenal receiver <hes> beckham. I think has great skill. Do you think you're better than jerry rice. Do i think think i'm better every time i take the field. I think i'm going to get it done and that's the right answer yeah. I don't compete against jerry rice. I compete against my canes. The yeah yeah yeah. He meant business too yeah yeah. Swami's great to see you good luck. You got you got a lot on your plate there. We have a lot on their plate but <hes> it's. It's an opportunity to improve it to give it better <hes> to do the right things. <hes> you know i worked a lot of years with big brothers and big sisters of america mentor. Turn kids was a national board chairman l. My my goal is should do it right for the athletes there if we're not doing it right for the student athletes were in the wrong place. He's lynn swann <hes> hall of famer and athletic director. We'll take a break play the day coming up next year patrick.

"Athletic director and what are you sixty seven yes. It looked pretty. Are you trying to hide yeah trying to stay young know when's the last time you caught a pass boy standing on the sidelines maybe one overthrown in practice and just kind of grabbed it but fortunately we haven't had a lot of those why was going to ask you that you guys aren't ranked preseason poll. You're not ranked right. What do you think the biggest reason why u._s._c. football is not u._s._c. football of old well. I think it's it's the process <hes> a lot of coaching changes early on <hes>. I think most people realize that it takes a while to get there if you haven't had good recruiting years <hes> <hes> so you got to build it up and then you've gotta find the players to fit your system in that same in that same process so i think that's part of it. <hes> the the additional coaching changes don't help. I think clay helton will provide some stability. Yes last year was very disappointing year. Five and seven no one's happy with that <hes> <hes> but sometimes i think emotionally mentally you get to place and you think you've arrived. You know you you haven't won a pac twelve championship but you back into a great rose bowl game and you play and all of a sudden. Everybody's hopes her up this. Oh man that looks like our u._s._c. Football team well the dramatic win over penn state then then you come back and you win the pac twelve championship and everything seems to be going up and you start feeling really good about it right and you kind of move along and that sense of urgency doesn't take place and there are some things that need to change and they don't change and so you have a very disappointing season. I think that klay understands that. I think he's brought back at that sense of urgency. He's increased the intensity of everything they're doing on the football field and i think the coaches changes have been good so let me ask you a question. She could probably won't know the answer to it. I don't expect you to how many coaching changes how many different personnel changes did u._s._c. making football this year. Why no you had cliff kingsbury for a little while for a moment yeah okay <hes> i don't know how many eighteenth why do you need to make eighteen talking about making changes changes big changes offensive coordinators different coaches that come in and looking what's doing and he wanted to upgrade what he was doing. I think graham as our offense coordinator ordination coming in helps off into great deal because instead of using a system that three different head coaches at one time u._s._c. kind of collaborated on simplify things he got rid of all the old terminology that was created by three different coaches and he brings in the simplified terminology for quarterbacks and receivers to offense of line and so it gets everybody on the same page. What does that allow you to do. Lots everybody that'd be athletes not to over. I think what you're doing. I think that was hugely important. Yeah explain the cliff kingsbury thing. Why was that just a cameo there did he have business cards already made eight up with what you have to ask that question <hes> up into up until the time cliff left <hes> everything i heard and from cliff was that he intended interesting <hes> and then we christmas holidays <hes> you know things are going back and forth as agents calling <hes> <hes>. I'm calling the head coach. He says no he's staying et. Cetera et cetera and so i call cleft on the phone and cliff was at the airport gold arizona arizona's new york okay yeah then coming through joma okay and so yeah it's it's kind of a no win situation. You're trying to get the best coach best coaching staff. You can have right beside someone. They say they want to come to you. It'll fit but for a college to give the reputation mutation that you have a coordinator but you're going to block him from leaving to go to the n._f._l. You know who's gonna come there. Yeah all year it. Let's let's let's be honest. If you're now the head coach and you want to be a head coach. You know there's going to be a couple of moves in your life. Maybe more than just a couple and if you don't have the ability to move when opportunity presents itself with the undo when you first get that call with the academic scandal there within the athletic department. Do you get a phone. Call or to somebody come to your offense and say sit down lynn. I got something to say to you know i've i got a phone call from someone internal at u._s._c. u._s._a. And <hes> said <hes> <hes> you're going to you're going to read about this. You're going to hear about this. Here's what's going on. <hes> and i think it's easy to say that the entire athletic department <hes> the university itself was in shock but you how do you process that because you didn't have apple with of any of this while it look who did yeah i mean you look around the country you look at every school. That's involved in and ask yourself. Okay who at what school found this out and the answer no yeah it only was found out because someone was caught for something else and thought he could help himself by turning evidence in this particular area. I'm glad he did <hes> the problem is seen <hes> <hes> the light hits it and now we have an opportunity to fix it so it doesn't happen again and that's what you work on. Is there a magic wind total for for clay hilton this year for you for clay hilton well at the end. You know i won't go there on that. One i mean i think <hes> <hes> you know we judge our coaches the variety of things certainly we wanna win and wanna be at the top <hes> but claes doing a great job motivating and helping these young kids. I have a productive three four years at u._s._c. Working towards a college degrees we nineteen players on our team last year <hes> the war graduation patch which sir graduating by the end of that semester or have already graduated <hes> so <hes>. We're very proud of that want to move it forward so i don't look get this as well. You've got to win eleven game. You've got to be undefeated. You've gotta do this. You know and and our goals remain the same. Do we want to be at the top absolutely whether it's that begin. Yes weird to see u._s._c. as an underdog story but you guys are an underdog story this year. She got a great quarterback. I think you're wide receivers are going to be potentially stanchly could be great. Great groupwide really really talented but you're you're gonna play the underdog rule. It feels like we have a tough schedule but the album that's okay. <hes> i mean just a couple years ago that you know one of our big rivals obviously notre dame. <hes> was having same kinds of issues news <hes> may changes and they've had a couple good years back to back <hes> we look to improve and be better. We look for this team to <hes> to show better. He's lynn swann the former steeler hall of famer and of course you athletic director. Where were you on the franco harris immaculate reception. I was at u._s._c. yeah. What did you think at that time when you were watching that unfold going to be tough for wide receiver the beat and immaculate reception yeah is you're catching super bowl better than franco's. There's a statue of franko airport. Regardless of what i might say or think those the evidence right there there's a statue of george washington and franken harris and the immaculate reception and and you lived up to your name. We're talking about david stern when he was that show he was. You seem bolt. You're lynn swann. We're that athleticism come from well. You took ballet too. Didn't you well my mom and dad didn't think i'd be a great athlete and so when i was young and been the youngest of three kids you know my among kinda wanted to keep me close and so <hes> <hes> my mom in the fourth grade decided that she take dance lessons boy hyper kid running around all the time that kind of thing so she thought this take the edge off i think so i enrolled less williams dance studio in san mateo california. Are you the only boy oy in there. No the two boys in the class okay and there were fourteen girls now back okay <hes> so it was it was a tap class us and so it was tap dancing after that with tap dancing and then i got into jazz did summer <hes> plays musicals. I did west side story. You know <hes> summertime san mateo recreation department <hes> u._s. would dance. I danced in senior projects looking for male dancers to be in the class. I got got involved with the pittsburgh ballet theater setting up on the board of directors and setting up scholarships so there was dancing dance in my whole life and so <hes> that was just kind of moved to the long who you consider the best n._f._l. Quarterback the best while yeah look ah. I guess i'm partial people say i'm a little bit prejudice on this. Would <hes> you know i i i would like to say ben. Rothlisberger is because the pittsburgh steeler <hes> time but i'd have to say tom brady and and tom brady did go to my high school at serra high school in san mateo you know i've seen them in college. When i covered college football brady have a statue at your high school no he doesn't have a statue okay in this bond. Go see went. There bought the place for green bay. Was there a gregg jefferies free. Was there john robertson. The coach knows at serra high school so <hes> we've had a small boys catholic high school. We've got some pretty decent asian athletes there. What's your favorite terry bradshaw store it off the field off the field that i told hold before yeah. Look i've got. I've got this story about terry. Okay okay. This is true and it's kind of it's it's kind of at my expense to a certain degree <hes> <hes> but kind of tells you a little bit about terry's growth as a quarterback because chuck really didn't want to throw the ball that much and so we're getting ready for <hes> super bowl thirteen against the cowboys and i looked at film and i saw how the safeties responded for quick pass and quarterback makes a three step drop drop you know the safety that they come charging up looking for the past two whatever receiver right <hes> i thought we could take advantage of it by running a slant pattern all right then terry has to pump fake it and then you turn the slant and to a skinny post when safeties come charging up to you know passing passing that train by the time they react to a yo you buy them and so tom moore who is our receiver coach at the time he put it in and look good worked well at practice so it's called forty two. I take off and that's my side. I'm the right side receiver. John stallworth hall of fame wide receiver on the left side. If we were where to call it the john it would be forty three so we get in the perfect situation in the game to call that play and i'm all hyped up. 'cause i put the play and it's the super bowl. It's cowboys again. Terry looks at me chuckles. You've seen them do that. Chocolate it okay the little the good old boy kinda laughing the whole thing. You know i'm going to be goes. Take full split forty three. I take off forty-three. He calls it. The john runs a play. It's executed executed perfectly. John scores a touchdown. I'm running down the field going yeh but you know oh you you tell these stories about bradshaw and you might recall the story where supposedly montana and i wasn't there so the supposedly was done the hollow and the super bowl game and we saw john candy and john candy tells the story and calms people down. The halloween leads him down and makes a great play. I think for terry that moment was a moment the real association for him that he kinda had this on the control and he knew what he was doing. <hes> he ends up being the m._v._p. Of that game <hes> and that's our third super pro bowl his first m._v._p. Franken was i. I was second in so and so it's it's a good story you kind of laugh at it. You know i laugh at myself about it. You know but but it's just a good story about terry in the moment is actually in controlling knows exactly what he's doing. I know that we talk about aaron. Donald now and you know you to have people who cover this league and if cover this league for a long time saying he might be already the greatest interior defensive linemen in history and i went man i saw menial like there's a few short list but meantime green was he was he was nasty. I mean he lived up to his name. He was tough attach stuff that you would get suspended. Spit on somebody well. Joe is not the guy guy who spin on but he grabbed her on somebody i don. I don't recall him spitting anybody but he might it gotten he would grab your helmet and punch in the belly african one three time to holding him he. Would you know who scared me more. Her mel blunt. Mel looks like he could still play now. Melle mel looks like he should be a linebacker and he's six like at a defensive back. That big was unheard of cornerback. Oh man yeah i mean he. He could be a linebacker guys. Debate a lot of different hit you who <hes> no okay yeah he john stallworth john go win against them every day on the other side so he kind of play him a little bit more <hes> <hes> but you know you know. Mel was mel's a warrior man so he would after yeah. It's you guys debate a lot of different things you talk about the gray this player the greatest player of all time yeah..

"This is dan patrick. We made it to a friday. It's our one dan n._s. Dan patrick show last last day in los angeles but a lot of fun. We'll talk to the u._s. Athletic director lynn swann hall of fame wide receiver and one of those guys who lives up to his name name like david stern when he was the n._b._a. Commissioner kind of matched his personality he was david stern lynn swann and if his name is glenn groundhog or something you know wouldn't have been the same he was lynn swann lynn unathletic yes but he was on mister rogers neighborhood and he was is there <hes> doing ballet like he was lynn swann in those catches those athletic catches in the super bowl a- lived up to his name so lynn swann will join us obviously see a lot going on at u._s._c. Not ranked in the preseason been a long time since u._s._c. is not been ranked in the preseason so we'll talk to him. Also <hes> the the athletic scandal there lynn swann will join us coming up lakers with bad news losing boogie cousins talk about hard luck career here there there was only a couple of years ago when he was twenty five thirteen in five guy and i know that you look at it and you probably say you know. You never got paid. He never got paid but he's already made close to one hundred million dollars now in comparison to some of these other guys who are getting two hundred two hundred and fifty million he's probably going to miss south on that but <hes> torn a._c._l. Will check in with the lakers and anthony davis does not wanna play center. They would like for him to play center with the injury to boogie cousins so check in with the lakers a little bit later on. I saw the headline and my heart sank dale earnhardt junior and his wife and baby in a plane plane crash. Everybody was okay it was you see the headline and it took me a little while to get to the results there and everybody was fine and you saw that picture and and you had a chartered private plane and it was on the runway. <hes> i reached out to junior did not hear back from him but everybody is good good. I just wanted to let him know that like everybody else. You know hope that everybody's ok there but <hes> you know it's one of those headlines that you saw and thankfully great eight news there with dale earnhardt jr. couple things obviously with the preseason football last night and maybe we'll one day look back on cuyler murray second game of the preseason season his rookie year with amusement where we'll member when he got that safety member when he looked bad. The line wasn't blocking foreign. Maybe it looked like cliff kings things berries in over his head with his offensive scheme there didn't they used to have a franchise running back there. Remember those days mclovin those it was days david johnson yeah. I do yeah well. I think he's going to continue to disappear because that offense is really not suited for david johnson johnson. I don't think anybody well maybe collar murray. We're gonna find out but <hes> you know the offense was out of sync against the raiders and then after the game murray hinted that we're not really seeing everything that they have to offer. You know it's it's not what they're and you're not gonna show everything in the preseason and i get that but here's kyle murray on. It's just a preseason game. We didn't look as we would like to look but as a preseason. This is why preseason season. It's tough because you know it's not play a whole game and it is. I don't wanna say is not real but it's just you know it's not the regular season. We're not doing everything that we're going to do so that's why it's it's it gets frustrating but at the same time you preseason so okay. I know it's not a real game but you should care and i don't know if the philosophy is in preseason. We're we're not gonna block but in the regular season we are. Here's my problem with arizona. I like tyler murray. I i like them taking him but but it would have been nice. If you spend a couple of draft picks on offensive lineman i was shouting from the mountain tops when the cold stood this you draft andrew luck and then in all my gosh he's running for his life. Then you get quinton nelson all of a sudden things change you invested in your offensive line you you must must invest in that offensive line. You know andrew. Luck was the least sacked quarterback last year well. There's a reason for because they paid eight attention to the offensive line. Arizona has one of the worst offensive lines i've ever seen but i've only been watching covering the n._f._l. For about forty years so no okay put that into perspective you kind of go out and spend you know they. They've got a wide receiver defensive back in the draft and they had their tackles there to be taken. They just haven't improved the offensive line. That is going kyle. Murray is fasted oklahoma. You're not as fast when you get into into the n._f._l. He had to be looking and going you know i usually escape against texas tech when i make that run wow these guys are pretty fast. Three for eight twelve elvia hard sacked in the end zone for a safety offensive line. That's a big issue here but i know it's only a preseason game. He'll have abbas ups and downs and this isn't a good team. You know you got larry fitzgerald but you're going to need a lot more. You got a little bit more time to be able to find line larry fitzgerald. It was ugly last night hopefully for murray and the cardinals it will be <hes>. Maybe the outlier in what turns out to be an interesting fund regular season. Here's here's cliff kingsbury on his quarterbacks performance last night. I thought he made really good decisions. We miss him throws. <hes> there were close on some things but i thought understood varsity penalties back south in a long yard situations. I thought he made good decisions. The whole night we just hurt ourselves those penalties and could get things really rolling okay all right. I know it's only two preseason games here blocking scheme little bit different in the n._f._l. And what you need to do your speed you can use as your speed but you there. You're not gonna run. Everybody and athletic tyler murray is i like to see what this game plan is going to be because last night made me a just a little bit nervous here yes mclovin. I think part of the thinking behind cliff kingsbury in the air raid is guys only have to hold their block for two seconds and that question is last night. They couldn't even do that yeah but i don't think you need the best offensive lineman to run that system in college you didn't that's why they invented this the make up when they weren't as well known as in great shape if you don't need a great offensive line arizona's in great shape nurse and it's been the last couple of years. It's gotta get better at self employed right now. What about your offensive line. They don't need to be good. Oh okay well that mission accomplished. They're in. They're in midseason form already yeah. At least they have a big strong quarterback. Act absorb hits back there to deal with it and then there's the clapping thing where you know cuyler murray was. I guess trying to draw the aren't you supposed it was to try to draw the defensive wall off signs. That was what i thought so it. Was it like an inappropriate clap. You know you you just i'm always. I'm always amazed when i watch you know the n._f._l. And it just something new where you go wait. You're not allowed to clap like that. I thought aaron aaron rodgers. You always tries to draw offsides tyler moore. I liked it cliff kingsbury he before the game goes over to the officials today by the way this is what clift left <hes> or this is. What color does don't call it. These officials gotta be on ace snot nose. We've been doing this a long time. Who are you you know. I know it's getting hot in the desert with those good looks. They don't mean anything does dude. We're going to call that. I just want to let you know. The cuyler likes to do the same thing. Okay don't call that. Oh okay all right skippy head over to the sidelines there. Did you guys understand the whole clap zippy. I read up a little bit in the announcer said that i guess kyla murray can't clap in a jabbing manner that in trying to get the defense offsides. It's legal to clap to single your lime in the snap the ball or play change like but they said you have to do it in a smooth fashion those were the words used smooth clapping motion now right so i guess like a like slow motion like a swan are move move type thing yes mclovin. I friend of football guy said it's a bush league college move to do that crap. I don't even know what it means. It seems to me but that is some oklahoma big twelve bushley college stuff to do that but doesn't aaron rodgers do that he does. He does green nineteen every time green nineteen is his thing green tea but doesn't he do it real abruptly and then he'll back away a little bit so we try to draw you offsides. I thought that that was the goal always to do some kind of thing. Where we'd like kinda stomp his leg and some things you could get a lot of time on a lot of guys do the leg big thing l. a. getting guys offsides l._a. County invented a lot of it. Well yeah good yeah so great. Quarterbacks get teams off sides right even to isn't that part of the great quarterback to do that. That's what i thought it was inappropriate. Clapping by kyle armor yes aaron rodgers moved to give people offsides. He does the same snap count ninety percent of time green nineteen nineteen. He does that every single time if you listen to them and then maybe twice a game agree in nineteen greenhut and nothing happens and he set in the whole game up to get that one play when he needs it with a free shot down the field..

"You're like you say, well, why are they sticking with that guy when he has such a bad reputation because inside the building that's their guy. Rob is there guy. I get it. I just think that look man, they got to get rid of this notion of Lakers exceptionalism. Okay. I know that's a word in a phrase. It's been tossed around a lot. But it really feels that way. Like you're trying to hold onto the family in the past. We rip you a C for it all the time. And you know, what the Lakers have fallen into that trap to go outside. Getting matter of fact, that USC analogy Georgia's interesting, it's you know, what this is. It's Lynn Swann use like Lynn Swann. Nobody can understand outside USC. How Lynn Swann could have that job. But the people there like him for now, the Laker people are like, Robin. They want him to continue to have that job. So for now, he's got. But you know, what I mean? Said before John the idea inside the building rob Pelinka is like he's liked by people who never leave the building. And that's part of the problem. You you don't do any comparison shopping up. When all you do is just stay in your own bubble. Yeah. I think what they would say if they were here is look we see how hard he's working every day and what he's working on. And we like him we like his work ethic. We like his command of the cap. I know the results aren't what we want yet. But we we hired him to do this job. He's done. He's exactly what we hired him to do, Nick. And my counter to that would be how did you end up with rob Pelinka on your radar in the first place, and the response would be he was Kobe's agent. Right. Which speaks to you never leave your own building. Right. We'll Bob Myers was in agent that that I didn't say he was an agent. I said he was Kobe's agent. Right. But specifically co wait a minute. He was James Harden's agent with our lows. No moser's. No. But it successful. It was no we don't is. There was but you're missing my. I point John. It's that he was Kobi's agent. They knew him threats the reason that's the reason he got the job. I agree. But I'm I'm just saying that they wouldn't have considered a different agent. They can send me, and this is happening aged seventy Oliver sports aren't telling them is running the pistons Brodie van wagon in his running the New York when all these guys, but those organizations don't insist on it being quote, unquote, family, right rats, the difference. I I think that if your if your desire is that they clink George. It. Sounds like yours is they clean house. Yes. And and start fresh with just an all new executive team. I think that you might be disappointed. Well, I mean, clearly that's going to be the case. But I again men like just go out like like, Andy just said go outside your bubble. Find some new fresh ideas, not just I'm going to please the owner or please. Whoever's in the office, Linda Rambus whoever's there and who's going to manage up to those people and tell them what they want to hear. And the Lakers are great. And we're the Lakers, and it's gonna work. It's looked had the worst record in basketball for the last six years cumulatively and add LeBron James for one of them. Like, that's that's a disaster. Yeah. I think that's all accurate, but at the same time, I I George you'll appreciate this the Combi used earlier in the day just to make the listeners understand it is when we blew up Thompson and Trudell for Stephen a it didn't make any sense to anyone in Los Angeles. When we did it including anyone in our building. But our owners ESPN once Stephen A in that slot. And it's nothing Stephen it. He he just he's doing radio show. John. I I don't I don't think that's an apples to apples comparison. Stephen a Smith is going to be the highest paid sports pundit in America right reason because he produces ratings and he actually produces ratings on this station. Right. And he had done that previously. That's not rob Pelinka, the rob Pelinka. No business records. You miss. You miss my comparison. "What is he gonna do? Right. Let's just wanna get him in school. You want to try to help? Okay. I get it. All right. Okay. If you're the athletic director, not don't want to put on a course on how to cheat. But don't you say why don't we run that through the history department will let let's listen to. Let's find a word. It's not going to be that deep though. He's not going to disclose to you what he's doing. And why is doing? He's just going to say, hey, if even says anything at all if that communication is open like that. Because I assure you that the wa- coins that come to the football department clay, Helen is not asking Lynn Swann. Is it okay to? To take the walk on football. If there were a systemic cheating problem so static the. Get that. Now clay him if we should start a list of Melissa elaborate words like multi saliva. Multi one multi Celebi treasure. Bik? Dr. But if you if there was a systemic problem in the athlete department, where clay Helton was running a bunch of guys through there that did not believe it because look key. We know what our USC. Well, we used to know what a US football player looked like right? They were the best athletes in the country come to play football one of the most prestigious teams in the country. And all of a sudden if you have a bunch of guys to use your thing five eight one hundred thirty pounds, if there's if all of a sudden were admitting walk on that are five eight one thirty and we've got a problem that's going that a it would be Klay Houghton's problem because he was doing it. But be it's who's clowns boss. It's Lynn Swann. And eventually it comes to him when you have problems in your department, if it's rampant you're responsible for no it is. But the whole thing is he's not policing who you put on your roster. That's just not part of his job description. He doesn't police who you put on the roster. This isn't a general manager in the NFL or the NBA. He's not he's not Lynn Swann is not scouting players. So it's very hard for me to kind of. I don't know point fingers at him, especially when these coaches are already in play prior to him even become any affect director heated higher water polo coach does coach today. Just sounds to me like the outlet director, especially the bigger places. They're there to make sure that everybody that writes checks continues to write checks fundraising. Yeah. Let's make sure the money keeps flowing. Yeah. Let's and then when there's a big decision to be made too far the football coach or not then I'm involved in it. Guys coach I need to be in on that. I'm not the only one involved in it. But I'm in on that decision. Otherwise, I'm gonna make sure the money's flowing. I'm gonna let you guys actually run the programs. That's what happens the big check donors in a big writers in the board of trustees. And those that they're the ones who are controlling the situation in when it becomes such a strong head athletic department athlete director has a strong head, and he's not allowing the big money guys to run the organizations s when you get pushback has when you say, he see guy. So you know, what minimum leave we'll take another job because I'm not gonna Lau if I'm here to do this job. Then this is one of do. I'm not gonna listen to you because you billionaire. I'm not listening to you. When it comes to this. Because this is what I know in. You're making money is what you know, it is totally different in. I think land swan is in a position he was putting the position. So the people that are the money is can kinda. Hughes him to delegate certain situations when it comes to the athlete side of things. That's why to me because he was certainly been. He certainly came from Pittsburgh would not an athletic department background ran into some political innings in Pittsburgh. But that's pretty much. Yeah. He's a great Trojan. Great NFL hall of fame football player, but running athlete department is a little bit different, especially if you really running like if land swan, you're not just the guy collecting eat..

"And I think that. One of the reasons I'm bringing it up is that Lynn Swann is the athlete director. He never had been in athletic director before a lot of Trojan fans are saying why can't we get a real athletic director will the reason is all the people above him are in turmoil. Right. Like, there's nobody who would actually fire or higher the new one. There's no president. There's a temporary president the board is arguing with each other. And it's filtered down now to the ethic department board. The board must understand that the football program is the reports of the universe. It is the thing that makes me look it's fine institution of higher learning. But they must realize what's driving all the revenue what's bringing in all the money is the football program. I don't think it's any excuse to keep coach that everybody has lost faith in. Yeah. I think it's because they can't make any until the until the leadership get settled at the school. They can't make any major changes and firing swan and hiring new athletic director. Would you consider it a major change wouldn't it? Be a gigantic change. Yeah. But why would the board not want to make that change because the board can't can't decide what to order for lunch right now half. The board hates the other half of the board. They're all trying to get there's a movement to get Caruso out and in Caruso, and they must be able to gre- on one thing. That's the clay Helton has lost the confidence of the fan. No. They just they count on Lynn Swann to handle that part of the story of hired a rookie rookie s athletic director, who's clearly not delivered. And what my point in bringing all this up is I don't think they can change it until they get the top of the ticket setup. And Wayne when I say top of the ticket. I mean, new school president and all that stuff boy Graham herald is young he's a dashing man, though. Man competes he competes with he's in the same league as cliff Kingsbury. All right. Hey, by the way, fasttrack at the top of the hour the same size. Yeah. Okay. Man, you've been dropping some good ones today. Mason the last couple of days. So here's the the biggest phone in the room, the fix is coming fixes coming. But right now, if you're FaceTime is on. Yeah. Kate. So you've got to go to settings FaceTime. Right. And turn it on. No, we're on the same showed. You don't have to. I I'm hearing everything we say, but the fixes coming channel five to destroy on it this morning and the KTLA morning news. Really, you can you can if you're smart if you're like a hacker kind of guy you can FaceTime with you can access somebody's FaceTime and eavesdrop as to what they're saying. Even when you're not on a call with them. Wow. The fixes coming. But it's not here yet. So that's why you should turn it off until the fix kits here. Okay. Do you? I saved you from from having the conversation. We just had off the air. Although we wouldn't it would be embarrassing, but we wouldn't get fired for it. I mean, it wasn't X rated a great conversation. I couldn't have that conversation on the air. No oh God. No, it would wind up in the Washington Post. I mean, if you don't use names, why would take ten seconds for anyone to figure out who we were talking about well fine. There you go. But what's interesting is they tell the old school store? ERA? "From me NFL people forget that Lynn Swann, Phil pro football hall of Famer. So we gotta remember that where his his his roots are as well. But it all came down to USC didn't realize how attractive cliff Kingsbury was crazy things. Just crazy. They didn't realize it. But that's crazy. I didn't realize how how is that possible? Gerke will because we one thing that we did realize that he's a great offensive mind. So the one thing that you would say was cliff would be offered possibly jobs as an offense coordinator and the rational football. And she did the Rams and the chiefs were both interested in him as an OC. That was the thing that we said. Okay. Offense coordinator, I get. Yes. Offense coordinator offensive coordinator. USC was I look you can be offensive coordinator here for year. Do you've got a young quarterback. Then JT Daniel saw look the foundation was there. Right. But then when you look at what happened though, George, and if you look at it from the US perspective, I think they just had no idea they were clueless. But I think a lot of us were clueless, Brian when you sit back, and you look what the decision that cliff Kingsbury had to make it just didn't look attractive to the US side. And I'll I'll say this because you look at what USC has coming back. First of all, I was always told this George never get on a. Boat. That's already taken on water. USC was already taken on water. Right. Clay Claes kind of in trouble. He's already taken on water. Yeah. So you're attaching yourself with a coach that probably if things don't work out your way, you'll be the one at fault and everybody still gets fired. Right. So or even if you are successful, you're not going to get the head coaching job because you still got to keep the same coach that was already in place. So all these things are going through Kingsbury is my right. But then you sit down and you like Arizona Cardinals. What do they have have the offer? They got the number one overall pick in the two thousand nineteen NFL draft. They've got young quarterback. Josh Rosen who I can mentor and really strip him down and build him back up. I've got the one of the best running backs in the league that everybody kind of forgot about David Johnson. Patrick Peterson Chandler Jones on defense seventy million dollars of cap space. George right. Gerald think about all the things and people were saying well USC how could he leave SE and he signed a contract? No, look at what was out there form. If you don't understand that this is a stepping stone for him. This was a job you can turned out. I don't care anybody out there who was a coach at somewhere. This is an upgrade this is an NFL head coach with this much promise in what you have going on. This was a no brainer. You gotta take this opportunity. And I think USC did not realize how attractive of a coach cliff Kingsbury were they got him at his lowest when he had just got fired from Texas Tech nearby say, well, he's got a rebuild himself. Maybe he may take a lower job or he may do this. He may do that. And he said, no, I'm gonna stick with USC. But only thing that it was when you see Patrick Mahomes and the Baker Mayfield autos guys playing well down the stretch who kept getting the credit for it cliff Kingsbury, right and his name started to grow in. Grow. And you know, the power of the social media in the power of the thumbs, George it just starts to get bigger and bigger and the one team that just bit was Aaron Jona. Right. And I think SE to you know, honestly, they just didn't know. And I'll give them that part this. They had no idea they had Ivan. I still don't have an idea of how he was hired as a head coach offensive coordinator. I can see that. But as the head coach. Yeah, it certainly strange out of those any question. But I think SE has a lot of problems potentially as you pointed out there taking on water if you look at the odds today in Vegas. They're eighty to one to win the championship. And then Clemson came to California yesterday what up on Alabama, which we haven't even gotten to yet..

"Have you seen some of the details on what's going on with cliff Kingsbury? Yeah. I know the jets are going to interview him, but USC was blocking him from any interviews for for a while for a couple of days. I guess this one is interesting on a number of different fronts, including the legal front because. Lynn Swann athletic director, legendary football name wasn't granting permission. But the buyout is so small that Kingsbury much handled himself. What is the bio I've gotta look it up. I'm sorry. I don't have the answer to that. Whatever it is though Kingsbury can afford to pay himself to get out of the contract. But why wouldn't you allow first of all the whole thing's weird because why would a thirty five and forty coach not wait for a minute. A guy was thirty five and forty at Texas Tech. Who is part of this newfangled young thinking explosive offenses spread the field. Why wouldn't that person? Wait. Why would why would that person take the, you know, the the job? And then all of a sudden say now is it because more more and more people began covet him. And he didn't realize what his I don't think he realized how coveted he was as resumes that great. And then US's is saying hey, offense coordinator with a coach, by the way, who many people feel it should have been fired after last season's maybe Kingsbury. The next guy in line though, and the seven or eight openings now, which is even for the NFL is a lot. What do you do with the whose fault is this? Well, the colleges shouldn't have a rule disallowing their coach from willing to take NFL why they have the rules for the players. Why like I like I like that Lynn Swann is actually trying to hold somebody to an adult authority hold someone to a contract. I wouldn't like it. If it was me. But I like that Lynn Swann actually treating the coach the same way. He treats the players, but I think their different jobs, though, they're different ocupation. You know, they're both football coach, but one is at a different level. You can't tell a college coach going to the NFL isn't a promotion. I know, but he's he just signed lichner stand that he should have to pay whatever the buyout. I agree with that. I agree in the by. I'm wondering how high would have to be for him not to pay it like, you know, if it's a million dollars because he could still afford that. Would you still by yourself out at a chance for the thing that I'm more fascinated by is just the idea of cliff Kingsbury fired at Texas Tech? They were nowhere program while he was there. He's very handsome. But they didn't do much of anything. They didn't. They don't have. They have one game that you remember they beat Texas with Michael Crabtree. And I'm pretty sure that was pre Kingsbury like it was. Yeah. Yeah. They didn't do much, but they had a handsome coach on the sideline though. Oh, yeah. I'll tell you as a jet fan. I desperately want him if we're going to be this lousy and isn't barricading we might as well have a cool good-looking head coach on the sideline. He's going to own that town on a good name as well. He's got a lot going on form at the part that I find funny is resumes. Not one of right like. What what kind of response? Very good talk donlevatar gonna get real. Stugatz. I'll get real these live at our show with this to God's own ESPN radio. "To be this high. Because this off season you take the job at USC as the OC and lots riding their Lynn, Swann and clay Helton. I totally get that. And the right away. You get NFL interests. You can be Clervoy Nuff. Your agent couldn't have had some off the record conversations with some NFL teams because there's been talks of Kingsbury where he got fired. Oh, yeah. It'd be offense coordinator in the league. Maybe I coach right away. But at least it offense coordinator. So at the time did you find more attracted to end up being a college offensive coordinator to eventually lead your way back to being a head coach in college. Or did you have no interest in the NFL or maybe there was a change of heart. And that could have been a case. But either way this is the belt very quickly. Just is USC. Now you may be resigning. But if you're swan why are you going to play this game? If I'm Lynn Swann, I say, go take the interview. And if you don't get the job you solve USC right here for you. But if he has an opportunity to get an NFL head coaching job. You're going to really block him from an opportunity. You're not going to allow him to pursue that at least have a conversation. And there's no guarantee and gets the job. And maybe if he doesn't get the job. He just says, okay. I'll go back to being the college offensive coordinator. Or maybe he wants to be an NFL offense coordinator. But once again, I don't love Lynn Swann. Blocking him from this opportunity. But also don't love the decision making of cliff Kingsbury. What did you miss how poorly did you evaluate or miss evaluate the situation that you couldn't foresee these teams being interested? I'm not saying it was a slam dunk that you were to get all the interest. But we've heard the buzz about you possibly being an offensive coordinator in the NFL. So it makes me wonder did you just take the first job you got offered? And that was USA Donaldson great opportunity. Did you take that maybe thinking Klay would be gone next year? And then you become the head coach of USC or did you get there? And just maybe say, I don't wanna go to this college stuff again. Yeah. I don't want to go through recruiting. They're beaten everybody. Okay. They're beating everybody and only one team in the last decade has a winning record against teams that eventually make the playoffs. It's New England. So this is not somebody coming from the mountain west conference and getting blown out and bowl games. They're legit. He played a decade in the NFL. He was a pro bowler from south central LA. A new book called never shut up the life of pinions and unexpected adventures of an NFL out lower outlier Marcellus Wiley calls to speak for yourself. We only get you. You You know? know, two or three times a year with your schedule both whoever's might schedule. How about I say this you were a charger? So I go to the charger game. And I said I said this Lamar thing it has a little bit of a Tibo field goal. I do believe Lamar is a draftable. He's a franchise quarterback. I just didn't. He was ready as a rookie. And then I go to the game. And I'm like he made the best role. He was incredibly composed now. I don't think going forward they'll be a great team playing from behind. I think there are limitations. But I gotta tell you. I don't think I've been more wrong on any rookie quarterback in years. The Lamar Jackson. He is ready now to play. He was totally composed against that event. I was amazed as well had my hesitation about calling him a franchise quarterback. Didn't know if the franchise would totally commit to the running game as they had and that's the key. And that's the key to playbook has to all of a sudden talk the same language as your franchise quarterback. If you're going to deem them net, especially a one dimensional quarterback who. Lamar Jackson was but his confidence has grown over two weeks. And now his arm is live that is real talent out of his arm. We saw it before in college. But we didn't see it in the pro ranks, but watching him in the charger elements and in that game even his misses were good as MRs gave you confidence because there were missed ball was dropped balls. There were balls that were on target, but properly defend it. This is a guy that is now working his way into being two dimensional. And if that's the.

"A happy holiday. Great to be with you in talking USC football in this Saturday evening, and you know, since we've lashed I had a chance to talk to a lot of speculation. And finally, it has come true and Kingsbury the former head football coach at Texas Tech accepted the position mid week. And is now officially in the office. You will not only be the offensive coordinator. But he will also be the quarterback coach so goal responsibilities. We have not heard what the remainder of the staff is going to look like. But obviously. You're a USC fan. This is news that everyone was looking at when Lynn Swann made the pronouncement the day after the Notre Dame as C game that ESI how to plan, and I'm not sure exactly what Chris Kingsbury was relieved of his duties at Texas Tech coach, do you think that changed bird was the guy all along when they were making these moves down the stretch after UCLA after Notre Dame? Do you think that his agent? I'm not sure who represent him was already having conversations about coming west and being a Trojan. No, I don't think so Chuck I think that did it says you was made probably around the UCLA game at USC was gonna keep clay Helton. He wasn't playing for his job against Notre Dame de final game of the year. That letter could not been produce and approved by the trustees out by ten AM on Monday morning. There's no way that could happen. And I think it's been a long process of not knowing exactly what to do as far as should. We have kept coach clay held there. Should we have not kept coach clay Helton? I think right now with the decision of keeping him it's sort of a procedure now without a full-time president and the trustees as far as having other outside got the virtual things going on just asked Lynn Swann. Lynn, whatever you think is best. Go ahead and do it with our approval. And I think that's exactly what's happening. Now, I think Mike. Concern with this whole thing is is that I think coach today, and it's still the head football coach. And you've got to be very careful and building up the assistant coaches that are coming in to be bigger than your head coach. And currently right now the way I see it in a way the media is handling it. And the way the sports information department is handling it all you do see pictures during the recruiting and discussions every day in the media of clip claims Kingsbury as the offensive coordinator, and he's gonna turn changes turning things around immediately do this and do that. I think they're they're putting the horse before the cart. They but first of all settled down and remember, they hit football coaches and also remarried he's still got to put a staff together. And you still gotta head football coach is gonna make the major decisions on what's going on in the program. And if you start letting everybody take their the head football coach act. Like a head football coach, you're going to have some major major problems shark. Well, it's interesting. But if you're coming off a losing record, and you're in a situation where the pronouncement was made that you were going to be like Notre Dame, and quite Helton was going to take on more of a seating overall. And then they were going to bring the best coordinators to the program. In this part of the dance. And then if you're quite Helton, how do you handle all the attention? That's all morning your coordinators because you already we're doing the first part of this on the show tonight. And that's the lead story because why it's the lead story in southern California. Head coach in LA ran Sean McVeigh even joked in his press conference that he had enough hair gel for himself and clip Kingsbury to go around. So last time I checked Klay out more baseball cap, and he really wasn't a guy to use the air gel. Well, chuck. When you look at the situation at USC you look at USC as a traditional great football. Institution. It's got great tradition. The fans are tremendous educated type of football fan would they demand excellence like any major university like Alabama, Ohio State and the more or less spoilt. What I mean by that? They're used to winning. They wanna win they want to enjoy the day. They wanna brag they went all the things that go along with USC Trojan football, you either are Trojan if you are the Trojan you don't like to Trojan so neighborly sheet on that they liked that. So I think that right now the situation of what's going on at USC you've got split house too. But a lot of people are still confused on what's going on with the football program at USC. A lot of people at the decision of keeping play. Wanted then suggested that Lynn Swann should go because he couldn't make the correct decisions on what's going on. So there's a lot of chaos currently right now with the football program at USC, but the best way to do that you've got to settle down. And you've got to have a leader you've got to have someone so rockstar or you got to have someone who everyone knows. It's in charge. If it's Lynn Swann, he's in charge, and what he should be doing is talking about the competence of clay helped it because it's a little bit of different situation and copied or having the role model of what Notre Dame did with Brian Kelly. Bryant Kelly's been a head football coach at Cincinnati and other schools for a long period of time. He was the head football coach at Notre Dame and went to the national championship game. Building a step around Mba's a little bit different than building a staff around clay Helton insane. Okay. Clay, this is what you're gonna do. But Brian Kelly does a little bit differently. Was he the track record behind him on who? Brian Kelly is is the head football coach, and he went out and hired a top assistance coordinators in the country. Notre Dame gave him the money to do that. And if those coordinator didn't get it done he got rid of that. But Brian Kelly is still the face of the Notre Dame football program. No it on their coaching staff is bigger than who he is. And USC has got to be able to understand they've got a different structure than what Notre Dame is as far as changing their program to be like Notre Dame. So currently right now as far as what's happening in the media, social media, everything that's going on. It's all pictures as far as the recruiter weekend. And everything all the discussion about clip Kingsbury the new offensive coordinator from Texas Tech, which let me tell you. I think is a heck of a coach. And I think it was a great opportunity for USC to get him. But again, it's a whole. Different philosophy and the program of what they're used to see and what they're going to see now right now USC fans are just looking for anything that they can rally around whether it's a coach or whatever type of situation there the football program that they can rally around. So they'll be a positive note for all of the alumni. So there's a lot of things happening in the football program. And there's a lot of things yet that needs to be concluded needs to be looked at as far as assistant coaches recruiting. Currently right now, there's three or four players who are planning on transferring there's a lot of unrest right now at USC Chuck coach, I'm gonna give you a quote. And if you close your eyes and hear this the day after the Notre Dame game you thought it come out of hurt each all this is not based on one game. This type of decisions not based on one season. This decision was made based. Three year pattern a three year pattern inconsistency. We saw progress, but we also saw lapses of progress in key critical areas we had one of the most highly prolific offenses in the nation. And we still sit here today with a losing record over the past twelve years. We've got to be a well rounded football team. We cannot be one dimensional and had success in this league. Coach that was the quote the day that put Kingsbury was fired by director, Kirby hocutt, he finished overall his career at thirty five and forty but they were nineteen thirty five in big twelve games is with Kingsbury, including c three and six is a call for each of the past three seasons. One of the top officers with quality quarterbacks. They went nine years without a winning record in big twelve play. So again, I think it's kind of interesting kinda reminds me a little bit of when they're having a yard sale or something you had the baby doesn't work as well anymore. And you put it out there you have reduced price and people come in. And and you sell it the best you can because you want to get value for what you got. Well, this is that right now. Well, Chuck, we gotta take a short time out here. Again. You're listening to our Trojan football report with Harvey either jug as we want to welcome out here, we want to say happy holidays, and if you're on the highway out there somewhere, and maybe you're on interstate fifteen we'll look for exit twelve that's ingenious bat just about twenty miles south of Las Vegas. Look for terrible roadhouse. Yup. That's it ninety six pups sixty spotless restrooms and a fifty thousand square foot convenience store. That's terribles roadhouse look for and get a Cup of coffee fill up utilize what they have their into convenience stores. It hit the highway. So buckle up every one. We'll take short time out with you. And we'll be right back fight on. Do you have a love hate relationship with your credit card? You love the freedom and convenience the credit card gives you you hate the high interest rates, and let's face it. Their high seventeen eighteen even twenty percents APR..

"This is a huge moment. I think for USC that Lynn Swann has completely botched. Okay. Because you can be a football school. Yeah. And I don't think that USC USC thinks of itself as a football school, but they're not acting like a football school because in college football as we just talked about the landscapes change. It's an arms race. I think that. You have to spend money not only on your coach, but your staff, and I don't know if USC is doing those little things and the other part is they limit themselves. I was telling me is that they got they try to keep it within the family all the time. Which is just limiting yourself for no reason, you need to stop with that nonsense. And here's the other thing. And look you played the game. Okay. I watched them and they're the most un-imaginative offense. I've seen at a big time school in a long time. There's no motion on their offense. They're just standing there. You know, and just occasionally maybe one guy moves to see if there's manners zone on defense. And that's it. Whereas I'm watching Sean McVay in the Rams and you've got guys moving all over the damn field. Pre snap stitch insane. It's not just the Rams. I mean, I'm looking at college football in general forget about because they want to be quote, unquote, pro style, right? You can't be pro style anymore. Right. But But. pro style has evolved to what the Rams are doing. You can't be pro style in college football anymore, right because the numbers are different. Yeah. In the NFL. It's a little bit difficult because you only have forty six guys on Sunday in college football. You got hundred players that are on your sideline then you can use at home game. So you can run the uptempo. I watched the other day watching West Virginia and Oklahoma score fifty-six, sixty points SE. That's not who they are. But they need to change. Because right now, they're in a conference right now that look Stanford is going to be who they are. They are never going to change. But the success rate is still there, but they're not trying to play for champions. And then they can say they are. Yeah. But USC is think about this George. This is the way I've always I felt this last couple of years but outside of Los Angeles, the thirty mile zone, or whatever you wanna call the southern California. No one's talking about. Nobody there. Nobody. It's not even a blip. So when I go out to these seminars and conferences, and they're like, oh man how skinny Jean wear wearing southern California boys doing that. That's the way people perceive. Yeah. Southern California football. Whether it's USC UCLA, it's considered a softer brand of football rather than what's going on around the football landscape. Yeah. And again, the other aspect of this is and you kind of brought it up. They need to go outside the box when it comes to this stuff because I don't wanna hear this. Oh, we don't do that at USC. You know, what those days are over you adapt or die. Okay. That's the reality of sports and life in general, if you don't adapt. Let's take a real life example, if you are someone who is in their fifties. Right. Okay. Is in the workforce you've had to adapt to technology that you may not have had growing up. You don't have the advantages of someone who is a teenager, even in their twenties who's grown up with most of this technology in their life for the entire time that they've been alive, and you're competing with those people in the workforce. So you have to adapt or your no longer going to be a functional employees, and this is no different in college. Sports. Professional sports, you adapt or you die. It's as simple as that. Or you lose football game. Right. You lose football. That's part of the time. You're going to lose. So Arash Markazi is gonna join us next. He's been all over this story. USC reporting all the intimate details of the buyout. And all that stuff. We'll talk to him. We'll get your phone calls as well. At eight seven seven seven ten ESPN eight seven seven seven three seven seven six Kirk Morrison hanging out today, we're until six because if you miss the Rams, Sean McVeigh and his show is back at six o'clock today. USC will retain Clay Helton: In letter, Trojans explain commitment to coach despite 5-7 season

"USC has decided to stand by his head football coach after a difficult season athletic director Lynn Swann acknowledged fan frustration but cautioned against shuffling the deck after one down year as head football. Coach clay Helton led the Trojans to a five and seven season capped by disappointing twenty four to seventeen loss to unbeaten. Notre Dame swan used the fighting Irish as an example of a team that stuck by its coach. And was rewarded for it held and took over the top job? After the rocky tenures of Steve Sarkisian lane kiffin he won. "New AD at USC with obvious long ties? Where's your confidence in him making a big but not necessarily big but more good decision after three pretty poor various extents USC decisions. Not Lynn Swann decisions. Yeah. We still know enough about Lynn Swann. But if I had to bet on it, I wouldn't the confidence meter wouldn't be very high. USC kind of keep it in the family. You get names like Jack del Rio who played at USC people ask me all the time. Like who should they hire? It's like, you know, I don't have any power. But I would give you two requirements one. Make it a college head coach with great success. You know, someone that's been successful on college. You wanna look at Matt Campbell or whatever someone that's like, hey, they're good college coach. That's the one thing to someone that doesn't know the fights. Don't hire them that you're familiar with like because then you're only basing it on a resume like they just keep hiring people that they know. I mean, just even the directors if you Dan if you covered a game in the call Siham took the elevator up to the press box. You looked on one side of the elevator. There was a picture of Pat Haden. You look the other side of the elevator. There's a picture of Lynn Swann like those. That's they hired like you didn't need a search firm. You just look to see who was on the walls of your press box elevator. And that's what you're gonna hires. Your director you need to get away from that. And I'm not sure that Lynn Swann in the board of trustees and all they would do something like that. It's like they feel like it's a circle the wagons thing, we're going to get a guy that we know as opposed to taking chance I think you said on your preview show where you're comparing Tom Herman toback Campbell. Right. Yeah. Crab. Yeah. And it's like I would love to do something like that where maybe it doesn't work out. But that's someone you can look at it. Like man, they've had some really good success in college. Let's see what it's like if they step up to the next level, and they're playing, you know at a top five or top ten program instead of Iowa State. So I would love to see that. I just don't long answer. I guess I don't confidence that they would do that. What is what do you feel like the view right now of the USC job is externally? I know you might be too close to the situation in LA covering the team every day..

"No and king or your wife did yeah we were sitting around trying to think of a name. For like about three weeks after I signed with NBC and every name somebody. Hated we've thought of two hundred names and one day and. King says hey isn't the Sunday night In called football night in America why don't you call your, column, football morning in America And I said. To myself Sam flood is going to like that name We're going to get some agreement on that one right. There I think king deserves a little cut of the KYW due, to I think she gets a little cut All right the topic. Right now in the NFL was what Oh look out We got a spill and I'll six-year. Bill the, topic I, mean I guess unfortunately is Terrel Owens or. Levy on Bill let me start. With, Sarah head Do we know what his gripe is I assume I mean look I I'm assuming that it's the I got into my third year and the way I look at that basically is. That two thirds of the three hundred and some odd people who were? In. The pro football hall of fame got in after? Their first year of eligibility does? That, make Harry Carson and Ron Yeary and Lynn Swann and, Fran tarkenton does that make them less hall of, fame deserving does that make their bus. Different no it's just the silliest controversy in hall of. Fame history, but it's, a controversy so we must address it but. Also this is what he wants I mean Yeah if he went there and, just said thank, you ungrateful and it's great to. Join these these fellow hall. Of famers You know there's there's no I was out in, Tahoe last week that golf tournament. Aaron Rodgers out there but was out, having a drink with a bunch of older guys like people of? Peter king's, generation and one of them said to me does he have any idea. How for the, rest of his life I mean, he's going to be able to make money off the hall of fame now if he this is, the hall of fame is he going. To be able to make money off the hall of fame and this was a this. Was a, very well respected person and so you know the? Hall? Of fame sort. Of shuffles, business hall of famers ways I mean are they, going to do that with Tarallo wins now I don't know it's I that's, not the. Biggest reason or the biggest anything but it just strikes? Me, that he's cutting off his nose despite, his face but, whatever should he have been a. First ballot hall of Famer I mean I've supported him all along I didn't think it was some, grave injustice because I do think there were some things against him Nobody. Wants to hear this but he was a third of a teammate that's all there is to it And he dropped the ball a lot particularly later in his career. I in my. Opinion though without any question he deserves to be in the pro football hall of fame I, supported him I'm glad he's in and I could? Care less whether he's in canton or not in Kim, do we view Randy moss differently than we do. And I think we do because Randy moss. To me I look at Randy moss is a singular, player I don't look at Tarallo Enzi singular player I think Randy. Moss was such an incredible, deep thread so incredibly great stretching the field and dominating games with his speed And his hands deep downfield. He had great hands I I mean I. Look at Randy moss is being fifteen percent better player, whatever the number save and tear allowance also he's grown up yeah Yeah he has Randy moss who's really has yeah yeah he's shirt. And now Tara loans wants to still make a comeback in the CFL I read I just read that this morning on my way up here in teaches own if he wants to do it I will say, this few years, ago when, I. Was running the QB we had CFL week and I went up to two games in the NFL and I met like three. Or four, coaches had long conversation John health, Nagel remember him yeah he was a either a coach or, GM of the stampede IRS state Penn State. Guy anyway as the. Former giants quarterback coach. But anyway they all all these coaches say all these guys come up from. The US and they say..
