"Am 6 40 comedy show when they were really, really hot 1984 85 Was driving limousine at the time, and as I was asked to go pick up this young group in West Hollywood and driving to Santa Barbara, but they did a concert and driving back Tol. West Hollywood and I didn't know who they were. It was men at work. That's awesome. Right? So I'm driving him up there and Let's put it this way while they were driving up there. They seem to have had a whole lot more energy once they got there. It's all that Vegemite the head. Yeah, and then one of the guys in the band said Hey, You want to join us, right? And my name? I'm the driver tonight, Bob, you know, And I don't wanna be on people magazine. So I think in the past, but, man, they're really cool dudes, and they were huge. Plus, your dad was still around, And he said, Well, I'm gonna pick you up if you had gotten arrested for something like that. Exactly Right. I was you put the fear of God in me, man. Unbelievable. All right last year. I don't think they had this golf tournament, but I got a call saying, Hey, can we come on the show there's a year ago and promote this golf tournament and and then it was canceled, like Ah, yeah, well, maybe next year. Hoping that forget, but they didn't so ladies and gentlemen, Terry is with us. Terry, How are you? I am doing great, Terry called. Oh, I love by the way I actually love up Lin. It reminds me of being in the Midwest. It's just like a beautiful vibe out there. We're with big lots and you know kids running around with their bikes and playing with other kids in the neighborhood. Whatever upload is done over the last 10 or 15 years, man, it's become a really attractive place to raise kids. That's known as the city of gracious living, and that's what we are all about, and they got that restaurant There is called the big hat or big top hat or something like that. What's called the hat. The hat it had if I happen, right, hot. My only complaint with the hat. Yeah, I only complain with that restaurant is I wish they gave me more pastrami on the sandwich. You know what I mean? E think they give you a lot, man. Look, I one sandwich Well last year, you know, three months. You ever go to that place that crazy? Yeah, it's a mile from my house. I think that's prize. A great big, So Yeah, it's a It's like a gallstones bag full of fries. That's the first place I had like a pastrami. Burger, which is all it really is unbelievable. And anyway, so I love the place out there and, you know, like you got, you know that old. There's like a Coco's out there in a Chevrolet dealer, but it's like going back into 1975. And it hasn't been killed with big malls or big billboards is not a lot of homeless. This is not a lot of crime and literally is what the San Fernando used to be a San Fernando Valley used to be like in 1972. Wow. Yeah, We like keeping up the way we are, and we are doing great things out here, and that's why I was in this golf tournament really about promoting the small business and that's why they call it gourmet golf. We are dining on the whole Every other hole is a restaurant or a small business, Okay and wait to get the business is out there promoting themselves. It's a great idea and and the tournament is in May, right? Yep. Monday, May 17th okay Monday, and what is it cool if somebody wants to play if you just want to play and come out just one. Just to be a golfer. It $175 And we're looking for four sons, right? Even have corporate foursome. Let's come out and spend the day with us. But 435 you get a lot you get like a meal at every hole You also get. You know there's closest to the pin, longest pot all that stuff and you can actually clean up contest, right? Looks like breakfast lunch. And then after we even have an award dinner with raffle, so it's like a whole day out there on the course with that is up, one have their own police department. Yes, And they called, but that oh, lots of 19 to 4 cents of our police officers that, um, I think what's gonna happen in California and it'll spread throughout the rest of the nation. I think people I think communities they're going to start to have their own police force that know the neighbors that know the neighborhood. Like Burbank is a good example of you know, I really feel like you know, the Burbank Police Department, you know, really knows the vibe in Burbank. They live, you know, and they live and breathe in Burbank, and I think these smaller police department's gonna be the wave of the future. Yeah. Yes, Yes, we'll ever please. You have chief Karen Goodman, who's our police chief out there And, yeah, he's doing a great job out there, and they really are part of our community. And I've never heard anyone in up and say, you know, it's time to defund the cops. All right. So maybe May 17th and and and you can also do agree corporate sponsors. I think you're looking for corporate sponsors as well. But where does the money go when you guys raise Actually, the money goes after back to the chamber of Commerce that we're doing. This is one of our fundraisers because we're a small nonprofit, so that the end of the year we do give back money to the community. So around November time As you just different events. We do the sort of Fidel's the taste of I eat. And then we give back We get back to my boss Mon on process that air out here, Um And that's what we end up doing Now. The tape was really small business. The taste of of the I E is always, um, I think it's always emceed by by Chris Little. Is that correct? Yes, Yes, That's what it comes out. Yes, we left him out there. He's been after. I think now for years with us were over at the Doubletree in criminal. Right. And you're on Lee, standing rural with rural with with Chris Little, the news director here, Okay if I he can emcee but no family improv. Is that true? What do you mean by that family in pop, You'll have to ask him. All right. So where do people sign up? They sign up. I believe it up. Lit up. Lynn chamber dot organ chamber, Doc Orc. It's right there on the home page. You're gonna see a little Just driving around on the golf course at the silver platter, But all bad gourmet suit that we have out on the course and hit that icon and they'll take you right to the registration page and you can register. You can even sponsor a contest or say Hey, I wanna have my business out on the whole. Okay, that's cool. All right. And by the way, I think the king of the inland Empire eyes David from the image emporium that he is. Okay, man, I actually talked to me that he's gonna actually sponsor a hole out There is a legend. Dude. Oh, God. Two years ago, he was out driving a golf cart. I don't know if you showed you that picture. Yes, he did all decked out Tiki bar. Yeah. All right around there, Harry. I hope everybody signs up. Go toe Coupland chamber dot or Thanks for coming on. I'm glad you guys are back in business and keep up the great work up. That's why my girlfriend teachers and upland. Is that right? Yeah. Yeah, I'll play. This spent a fantastic earliest. Are there more than one of those restaurants the hat? Yeah, I think that they was. I think the original one was like in Alhambra or somewhere around that area, but that Yeah, this hat. I love that. It's unbelievable. You ever had that moment that that had the restaurant? No, I haven't The sandwiches. They're like, little like 18 inches. Unbelievable. There's another one that I still think that they're owned by the same people called tops. There's one in Pasadena. Oh, yeah, tops with a Z. It's basically a lot of the same sort of thing. They do like pastrami burger, and they got great pastrami as well. Yeah, I like tops with the sea, right? Yeah. Yeah, I got it filled with that one day. All right? Very good. We came back. I was sent this unbelievable email. And normally, we don't read like a lot of emails on the air. But this one is so moving and it meant so much to maim, and it meant so much. The guy eroded to Mia's well again and Rob Burke out at Redlands. Them. I read it on the air. And it's just It's just amazing. You know, people listening and and then writing an email and this is about this is about himself. It's about his son and his and his dad. And or his father in law, I should say, and it's just amazing family email that I think you'll all enjoy..

She's leaving herself out. Yeah she's withdrawing I think she's clinically depressed. Oh Yeah Oh yeah you should come. Stanchly key circumstantial. She's fine before she wants. Nothing in this. The whole book wants to how she wanted to hall into us to be a hill girl again but she also wants to not want Paul. She wants Paul to warrant her more. There we go. Yes so that interesting confident which I feel like many people can relate to myself. Okay here's the thing. Did I love this book? Yes I fucking this book I love. His Books Are White. It was like it was such old. Fashioned fluffy nonsense. Yeah but it was so it was like a like I said. We're Kelly and I were texting about this a little bit. It's like it's like I'm sitting on a cloud. I seriously feel so quite late. Risk Super Coleman and also like a benefit so much from I assumed that the version that we all read is the only version that exists is a non updated version right. Oh He's a grand fellow people saying like fine but not in like a sarcastic way. I love sincere fine fine like ooh isn't that fine. What a fine notion you know. Okay so let me judge it. We we don't have a okay here. We go ready so ready. Oh man okay. I'm only at the because the only place I could find the description of this book it is available on Condal Which is to buy a hard cover for two hundred dollars? You can no thank you. Oh there's a really good tagline on the Condo version actually really what is it? Lynn Chambers has always been a member of the in crowd but But can she give that up to do? What's right? tagline long along. It's a little long but it's very accurate and grabs your attention. It's better than Wise Lynn. Being left out of everything Jiang okay. Ready Lynch Chambers is popular wealthy and going home most study with a handsome college boy but when she decides not to be a debutante. Lynn finds herself on the outside which leads her to a side of town. She barely knew existed there. She meets Anna. Oh you have to talk about Anna. Oh my God. An artist accurate overlooked by the debutante crowd and bad boy. Dirk masters was a fast car a quick temper and a dark secret involving Lynn. He likes Sir. I think that's the dark secret. He likes her. It's not very I think they're trying to market it like her other books which it's not. It's dark for the time it's true. It's like it was. I mean the classes daring secret dude yet. His secret he's pure. Oh man he's pouring he. He's in love with a non poor of with a riche. Here's the thing. He was capital P. problematic. It's true but he was also extremely hot. Hughes to figure this out is he the low dunk boy or as Paul Volodin Halls Loda also loan dunk boy. Now 'cause he will actually yeah. He has this dark secret of being a boy. There's like yes tends to be a bad way. Well there's always a bad boy. Low Duncan a good boy low dunk but obviously Paul is the like true low dunk. Sure is more the down a dark hall low dunk born. Yes yes I think honestly if you look at the two characters. You'll see. That looks really experimenting with duality. And kind of like two different sides. The same I..
