"They do a great job with all the different looks. They give you and when we were able to keep their normal down defense out there we pass Bach. Really well. And then when they went to south package it was. A little different story. I do a great job. But I mean overall I think we played we played solvent on well enough to win. Obviously. That's the real key here. It you've got to put the game together both offensively and defensively next week. Because obviously, it's the rivalry game with Purdue and their football team that can put points on the scoreboard pretty easily and Indiana Cantu. But the defense is have to step up as well. Absolutely. Their coach up there as a great job offensively and their defense. They play a lot of different loads. So a mixed bag. I'm really lineup. Same way twice. So we gotta work cut out for us. But you know, rivalry games defense at the show up and play good on both sides. They wanna win. I hope I know our defense are gonna show up and play good next Saturday. Do you are you are you the player that they call on to give the speech before the ballgame next week because you're from that Lafayette area, man, I hope so. Thinking about since last year. Obviously, it means a lot. There was no question about it. What about Michigan makes them? So tough, though, what what is the difference that you see in this ballclub compared to a lot of other teams you played this year one. They got a great players. Great talent. Secondly, they have a great scheme and Thursday. Each each position on their D line. They know exactly what they're doing. It doesn't really differ on bass downs. Obviously when they get into third down package is a little different but normal downs eight lineup they run base. And they know exactly what they're doing there. Defensively. Sound you don't really catch him out of gaps? They don't really leave gaps open for us to you know, make big plays. So that's that's where they excel. Well, obviously this ball game is history. It's time to flush it already. Right and get ready for Purdue next week. Yes, sir. All right. We wish you the best of luck. Thanks for talking to destroy. Thank you crock on the post game show today. One of our hardest working players of the ball game. And now, let's have Joe take a look at the final statistics delivered by FedEx Alrighty, fish, Indiana, had three hundred eighty five yards of total offense one ninety on the ground and those three hundred eighty five yards the most against the Michigan defense this year, the wolverines five hundred and seven to fifty seven on the ground and through the air. Peyton Ramsey sixteen to thirty five. Was intercepted watch Patterson sixteen of twenty eight. He was intercepted at one time. Here this afternoon. So Indiana does the job they were nine of seventeen on third down conversions Michigan seven of fifteen hoosiers have the football twenty four minutes. Michigan thirty five however, Indiana offensively have the football in the second half. Only eleven minutes and scored only three points against that. Michigan defense Stevie Scott today. Busy thirty carries for one hundred thirty nine yards is nine touchdown of the year mate and Ramsey, by the way, have fifty one yard. So he averaged over seven yards a carry in seven attempts. I've told you need threw for one hundred ninety five including the one touchdown to pry Fogel was sacked couple of times, Luke TIMMY and had a big ball game. He caught six malls today for sixty two yards as long as was that thirty yard that he latched onto it again for the second straight game. Nick Westbrook going down meal. Four catches for eighty four yards, Indiana. Top two receivers the here this evening. Eight Whitehead pundit three times for thirty eight point three yards. Looking at Michigan side Koran Higdon did have one hundred and one yard touchdown tonight against Indiana. Patterson onto sixty eight yards two hundred fifty through the air. So he accumulated three hundred and eighteen yards of total offense. Nico Collins caught three balls for thirty two. But the big story was Jake moody. He kicked a field goal in the first two in the second one in the third to in the fourth eighteen kick points for the wolverines Jake moody was a fire is the wolverines Avs, go. Randy out this sixteen to three in the second half thirty one to twenty year final Joe. Thank you. We'll.

"Eight hundred five hundred nine four two two couple more phone calls to get here on this segment. We'll start with truth who's called it on the line truth. Appreciate the phone call. How are you? All right. Sure. That much. I'll watch the football game too. The second quarter and to the baseball games Indiana baseball team with an average built. Glad to see them. But thank God. Who's your nation? Don't lose hope in Indiana football, because we're looking good. What we can. Right. Truth. Appreciate the phone. Call was a chilly, and I'm sure a windy day down there and Evansville. But glad to see you support you baseball who won hit believe US. I was they played down in Evansville today at eight oh, shutout win fall baseball. But here on the grid iron thirty three twenty eight. We'll move onto the next call immediately here corey's on the line from Carmel Corey appreciate the phone call. Go ahead. Can this year old will Corey? All right. Doing just fine. Yeah. I. My. My love and are coming out to the games. But I I gotta start asking the question is this the coaching staff because we obviously have the athletes were hanging pie with everybody. At what point do we start looking at not just Tom Mallon? But the staff below him. I love Tom Allen. But these games I kind of feel like the issue might be coming from the leadership. I'll leave it at that. You guys have a good night. Now. Thanks for the call Corey. He did he used to live across the street from me. And I used to talk in the front yard about about all of this to me. It's time to look at Tom Allen. There's certainly there's growing pains there. I think as he's gaining experience as a head coach. There's no question about that. Certainly, you know at the end of the season, you're going to take a look at your assistant coaches and just say, hey, where do we got to tighten up here there? There's some concerns on on the performances that we're seeing especially on special teams. I would like to see that tightened up a lot. But Tom Allen in regular season games. Now is nine and twelve overall as football head coach at this point in his career. He was one game under five hundred two games under five hundred last year. He is exactly five hundred this year, he's recruiting. Well, I think he has a good rapport with the high school coaches. And so yes, you had the problems last week. And that was that was a tough game. You had some issues today. Where I definitely questioned the decisions that were made by the coaching staff. But it's also a defense that seemed to return to form a lot more than than what they had converted some turnovers into points on a Penn State convert some of Indiana's turnovers onto Winston fumbles and things like that. It's not something that we've seen a lot of from Indiana. I don't just put that on the coaches to me, I understand people are all upset. I saw some people that you need to fire this whole staff right now. That's just stupid. That's just stupid. I it really is thing to where Indiana football needs stability. And Tom Allen can do that. He's doing a good job on the recruiting trail. Yeah. There's no question on Saturdays. When it counts the most. There have been some glitches. There is no question about that. And that's something that's going to have to improve. I was impressed with the fact that when he was asked about the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. He got last week. He said that's on me. He has owned every second of this. And it's. Indiana lost by five and had a shot on their final drive to beat Penn State bounced back the way we wanted them to from that loss to Iowa last week you sit at five hundred you have winnable games going forward to me. Yeah. You take these lessons, you pack it away as a fan, you watch this, and you pack it away and build this resume. But to me, if if you think it's close to where hey, you know, what this isn't going to work. I just don't see where you're well. I think there's a fine line to criticize the coaching staff versus just players making mistakes as we watch the ballgame from the press box, and certainly fans and watching TV in the stadium. Whatever it may be I think back to the end of the first half, again, a senior captain in Luke TIMMY and not going out of bounds. But rather trying to pick up a few yards by staying in the middle part of the field. Ricky Brooklyn's does the same. I'm not sure that's coaching more. So just it's football IQ in that moment. All right because he catches the ball immediately. The first thing that comes into my mind is go out of bounds. Get out of bounds. Get out of bounds. No, what are you doing? So if we can I don't think like a guy like, Luke, Tim, and I don't think he's sitting there saying not knowing maybe where the clock is. I just I just don't know how much of that part of it is coaching things like that. Right. And the thing is it's coaching. If you put your guy don't put your guys in a position to be successful. Or don't put them in the best situation that the play on fourth and one where they threw it to the end zone. Whether they go forward or not to me. Again. It's a mistake that the ball was stabbed. He says the ball was snapped. I'd like to go back and take a look at the play to see what the other players day. Obviously Westbrook went. But if they thought it play was going they were running routes, and so I want to see that. But the fact that the ball wasn't supposed to be snapped. That's a coach's mistake players mistake to snap the ball. However, it's a coach's mistake in my eyes to put him on the field and put them in that situation to begin with to over think things to try to get cute. To me, Indiana. Football's Don at the point where you can get cute in those situations. Coaching a lack of a sense of urgency at the end of the ballgame. Dole's are the kind of things that we could talk about. But like you said it is it's not just a coaching situation. You have players who are who should know better were making mistakes. And that to me is is where that's not on the coaches that's on the players looking in in there in the mirror. We're gonna take another break..

"On the lines aim predate the phone call as always how we doing I'm doing well disappointing. You know, it wasn't than state that beat Indiana with Indiana, beating the special teams again mentioned very disappointing. You have a senior in Jay, Sean that you're down by Paul. I now with that ended up being caught later in the game. When in the able to get that on by. Dake than I thought, you know, maybe when Tom Allen became head coach after Kevin will Kevin Wilson seems really weren't discipline. And I thought perhaps with Tom Allen discipline might be they're not DNA. And as Kim mentioned the seniors crucial guys that have been there in the program for three or four years. Very disheartening. Although I will be honest with you. I thought this is going to be the result of last week. And last week score would have been more than once today. But it is what it is. I I don't like going the Minnesota on a Friday night. I don't like Friday night game is that interferes with sexual. But it is what it is. I I opened the can still find more went on schedule. We felt the but thanks for taking my call. I appreciate it. Go. I you we appreciate the phone call. Can you tweeted this right after the ball game that overall you look at Indiana's four and four and I don't think it's unreasonable by any stretch of the imagination as the season get started. That's probably where you expected Indiana to be so the general consensus again just like last week as frustrating as that week was frustrating us tonight. Was this season is not lost. If the goal is to go to a bowl game. You beat the teams. Now, your margin for error is much smaller. Certainly, but beat the teams that you can be at Minnesota. This Friday is a big big ball game. In a big chance. This is a team that just gave up fifty three points to Nebraska and gave Scott frost his first win. So they are far from unbeatable Maryland comes here, we know Purdue comes here to end the season. He got Michigan who looks to be very very difficult ballgame but getting to six wins is not unreasonable today. Does it change that last week? Does it change that things are going to have to change for the better? There's no doubt about that. Because as as you mentioned as far as being undisciplined last week was very very unique in that sense that they were making mistakes that we haven't seen silly unforced mistakes. And while. In those specific mistakes. We didn't I thought the tackling was better today. It was great. But it was better. There weren't as many penalties. But there was still way more penalties than there should be special. Teams was awful today seniors at different points in times. And there were other players non-seniors. They had some mistake, certainly. But I mean you rattled off the list west Martin had a couple of Holt J, Sean fumbles the football the too bad. I don't know if it was back to back plays. But towards the end of the first half, criticized the clock management all you want, but Luke TIMMY and Ricky broken chances outside the hash marks to get out of bounds. And neither one did. And Indiana ultimately got away with no points at the end of halftime. They went in trailing. There were silly mistakes that need to be fixed. But generally speaking, there is still some things that there are still some benchmarks that are very within reason to get to hopefully, you're not playing for six when you play Purdue for the fourth consecutive year. But the season is not lost. And I know in the trenches right now immediate reaction. A lot of people are punting on the season. They're ready for basketball season, baba, blah, blah, blah. I get that. But you have to realize in the grand scheme of things that six win seven, whatever it may be four and four is probably where he expected this team to be long term. I mean, you look at after that game last week, which actually Indiana's looking a little bit better for that since Maryland got shutout bio L today one hundred fifty total yards and bought, but you know, the top part about that one is Nate Stanley threw for six touchdowns last week through for eighty six yards today. But. So long term the start of the season. You look, okay. You got this game. This game could win. Maybe you could knock off Iowa. Penn State's got to be tough. But you hope that they're competitive. And after last week, it was like at least be competitive against Penn State. Give yourself a chance to win in the fourth quarter. So in terms of that Indiana got what they needed and again, they get to this point of the season. Basically where we expected them to be. But it is frustrating to watch today because you did have these issues where you just had guys fumbling the ball you had special teams. Let's talk about the time out. It could have been used on on the plane where Jay Sean ended up fumbling the ball they called the time out because they didn't have enough men on the field which also happened on another punt, and they didn't call a timeout that time, but a punt it actually happened twice back to back Penn State punts Indiana had ten players on the field, undisciplined, you tell me the negative side of a punt where you're the receiving team where you only have. Players on the field. What's the negative? What's the worst thing that can happen there? Somebody goes on blocked and so. Very fair catches the ball. You move on. Why waste the time out in that instance. That's what I don't understand. And then you get late in the game you need that time out. It's gone. And what did you use it on regardless of the fumble why bother with that? Because there's no negative to having to not enough men to cover a punt just as easily your your your return should be up there, counting them. That's his job. He doesn't see it. There's only ten you. Call a fair catch. It's that simple. It's this is not this is not hard things. And that's what's frustrating to me is because Indiana was competitive in this game. They put up a ton of offense. The handsome nice things that that happened. But boy, I tell you there were some some instances where the player shot themselves in the foot even the last drive of the first half where we're talking after the Penn State has to punt the ball back in you, come out midfield, Indiana. Needs to move the down the ball downfield quickly, you need somebody who can throw the ball little bit and painting. Ramsey's tried it back out there, and that is not his strong suit. When Michael had been moving down the field. Now, you could say, well, we didn't we wanted to sit and talk to him after snapping the ball to me that ball being snapped is on the center, not so much on panics. And to me, it's just it's those kind of things that are just really baffling. It would make me tear my hair out if I had any we're going to go back to. I like that one. We're gonna go back to the phone calls at eight hundred five hundred nine four to two Jay's been on the line holding for a little bit. Who we appreciate that? Jay is from Fort Wayne and is on the show with us. Now, J appreciate the phone call. Go ahead. All right. Great. Covered a lot of negative stuff that happened. So. Michael, panics, state employees. Brings to the opens it office. I think that was a big part of being able to run. I also just to see potential what he can do is amazing. But now because it looks bad injury. And also by their questions. Ramsey's in there. You know, it gives it involved, but I think figure out fairly quick limitations. I'm just wondering if retailers gonna can't go free Steeler might get. Carrying with Ramsey down the road. Jay, we appreciate the phone call, and I do agree with you a big positive at least when he was on the field was the play of Mike panics one because you get to see his ability to throw the football to to just get him out there in. I mean against a defense like this visit type of defense that he hasn't seen before this is far from the ball state team. Which was the last time that he went out there. Unfortunately, I believe this'll be the last time we see Michael panics this year just by based off of the way, we looked at his without any knowledge, certainly situation. But purely watching it and Tom Allen did say after the game when he was talking to the media that he doesn't have any update in that regard. You're just going to kind of wait. It was all in that leg area not anything to do with the targeting penalty that happened on that same play Disney right away. Yeah. And so to that point I very much so agree with you that panics e can stretch out the offense. He is. I mean, let's face it. He is a different type of. Quarterback then Peyton Ramsey as they do different things. They do different things better panics does certain things better. Pain ramsey. Certainly does things better in that sense. As far as the Reese Taylor aspect of it. I don't view it that way. I think. I don't know if this panics injury would change anything role wise for Reese, he might be the next guy up in an emergency type situation. Obviously you go. If panics is out for the season you go from three quarterbacks through fall camp. And now you're down to one. So I think the possibility maybe for Reese Taylor coming in and more of an emergency situation. But I imagine it's going to be Peyton Ramsey the rest of the way. And I think to the other point trying to round off in my head everything that Jay mentioned their defense is figuring out Ramsey. I view it as this. They accept the little dinks and dogs. They're there and Peyton Ramsey usually takes them and the defense is because of that seemed to be accepting of okay, we're not gonna let him we'll let those three four yard passes. Go because we feel like we can bring the ball carrier down after the completion is made. So I think they they certainly have the game plan. And and let's face it. I mean as as inefficient at times as the offense was in big areas when they. Needed to move the football. They still had five hundred fifty four yards of offense. They were able to move the ball on the ground two hundred and twenty four rushing yards with an average of five yards a carry. So the offense regardless today was Peyton if it was panics they moved to the football. They just move it a little differently five and a half yards. A play is good you'd like to see more you would like to see more and especially when you're talking about the yardage per completion. You you wanna see more? And then to me that's part of the issue with when they brought panics, and I think at halftime he was four of thirteen passing. So it's keyed completed a lot of Hazar. But what he did is he those safeties had to drop a heck of a lot farther back and that opened up the running game. And that continued even after halftime Indiana had already been running the ball pretty well. But it dropped those safeties back and there were times in the second half, the Penn State just had so many guys in the box in such a short area and people knew not only could was Ramsey going to check down if they gave it to him. But throwing against the wind. Forget about it. It's not going to happen..

"The plumbing heating paramedics studios, central Indiana's news, weather, and traffic station. Ninety-three WIBC Indianapolis. Can we can start in a couple of different ways? We can start offense five hundred fifty four yards of offense one hundred plays which I didn't realize it was nearly that total until I was looking at the final statistics. We can talk. Mike panics? We can talk silly mistakes special teams another frustrating close loss that it was a small chance, but a chance there at the end with one final dry falling by five depends state here. We are again another frustrating evening here in Bloomington. I will start with the things that I liked I liked and there's not many I liked that Stevie Scott establish a running game. They ran for one hundred thirty eight yards on twenty six carries. I liked what I saw from Michael panics? I'm worried about the injury because that didn't look great when he came off the field. I like the fact that the defense held Penn State to five fifteen on third down. I like that all of that stuff tremendously. That's a good amount. And that's about it because I don't wanna hear about moral victories, or you know, they they gave themselves. Look I liked that they gave themselves a shot to win right at the end that they had the opportunity, but they didn't do it. They didn't get the job done in the hat opportunities. Earlier in the game. The end of the first half I'm going to get right into that. Because the end of the first half you, and I talked about this at halftime that to me go for it on fourth and one now, Tom, and I know said that that ball was never supposed to be snapped. They were just trying to draw off side they are planning on on the time out. And in the ball should have never been snapped. My argument is you have a true freshman out there. You don't even put him in that situation if you're planning to try the drama offside don't put the kid in that situation hasn't played in a month. Don't put them in that situation. Don't get cute. Don't play those kind of games Crutcher field goal team out there kick the field goal tied the game hold Penn State for whatever. A couple of seconds of they have left to get into half-time to get the ball back in the second half. Don't go for it. Certainly don't sap the ball and hey fifth year senior who's playing center. Do not snap the ball. If you're not supposed to snap the ball period. Now, there are too many things that we've seen to wear. You had west Martin called for a number of Holt. He's a senior you had Jason Harris. Fumbled the ball. He's a senior. You have seniors that were hurting this team today. They did some good things. But they were hurting this team, Luke TIMMY and turning inside instead of going out of bounds to stop the clock. Ricky broken Ricky Brooklyn's doing not being able to get there. I just there's there's so many things and you look at the final score of thirty three to twenty eight you're within five points of the number eighteen team in the country. You get you get five hundred fifty four yards of total offense. And it's still things that Penn State didn't beat you your special teams your own special teams hurt you your own mistakes. Hurt you you're on penalties hurt you. These are things that are just just absolutely unacceptable when you're trying to build a program, and it's the players the coaches, they gotta get this together. And at the end of the game. There was zero sense of urgency when they were down by twelve they were walking up to the line, you're down. There's an opportunity to win this. Ballgame banded up scoring a touchdown. But the amount of time that they had left which greatly compressed because they weren't trying trying to run up to the line of scrimmage when there's three and a half minutes left. Those players did not believe that they were gonna come back and score a touchdown and give themselves an opportunity to win. I don't care what they'll tell you. They did it. They ended up doing it. But they didn't believe it when that drive started. And that kind of thing really bothers me fan, certainly didn't believe it. They were they were nothing, but but brake lights, and I understand that we've seen this time. And you and I have done this show time and time again. But to me, you've gotta you gotta have a sense of urgency and not just use the time that you're given to try to take an opportunity, and it's just so frustrating to watch because this team does good things you see good things that they're able to do. And it's just incredible to me just the time and time and time again this team shooting themselves in the foot. It's just so frustrating to watch thirty three twenty eight..

"Sixty minutes over there in Columbus. As we jump into the phone lines zan's up. I ain't from Evansville. Appreciate the phone call. Go ahead. Hey, guys, thanks for taking my call actually calling from Fulton Kentucky, which is on the border of Indiana. Or on the border of Kentucky in the buddy got married and my friends have to stop getting married day at football games because it's really starting to get them away. A couple of observations from lifting to the game or tracking it or watching secretly during the actual what I really liked the I really liked the play coin today. The one thing that I kind of get annoyed with is it seems like against the team for supposed to be like Rutgers or maybe an Illinois Maryland, we play closer to the vet were against the big time team like Ohio Michigan state. It seems like we open up the playbook, and we tend to play better. And I can remember as a kid growing up when you go to Ohio State, you gonna miss Indiana by fifty so today being within eight points at halftime being within single digits of the third quarter having over four hundred guard. I think there's a lot of take away. I hope that the fourth quarter doesn't become a detriment moving forward. But I will say I am super excited be back in Bloomington. The next week against Iowa. And Penn State, I think those are crucial game by hope other fans realize how important they are especially the Iowa game. If I feel like they're beatable. Christie guy taking my call looking forward to being back up and got country next Saturday, go I you Jose. We appreciate appreciate the phone. Call look forward to seeing you next week over there at memorial stadium. I think he's spot on especially with the tail end of what he said just looking ahead to next week. Because again, I think this is going to be a common theme as we nitpick different aspects of this ball game at the end of the day, not many, truly and confidently expected that Indiana where one to win the ballgame to be close there at the end with a twenty three point losing margin at the end of the day what you hope for going forward. And in the short term what you hope going forward to this week against Iowa or in that's part of the season. Where you look at Iowa Minnesota on the roads, not all that far in the future, Maryland produce games that are kind of toss up games, if you will as you an I map out our expert schedule as to how Indiana's gonna make it to a ball. They won four games. Indiana was favored in all four of those ball games. The two games. They've lost. Michigan state, Ohio State. Kind of expected that to happen more often than not now, you get into these ballgames Iowa home homecoming there beatable, and it's a ballgame that can truly shift this season going one way or the other. We've talked a lot about the big which game has the biggest game. And you know, there have been times Virginia game. I know was one you and I looked at as a must win game and a pivotal game. Now, Iowa is not a must win game. But definitely coming off of this game. And the way that you played in the second half. You got you have to take the positives out of it. Learn lessons from the negatives. And then turn the page. And that's the key thing is, you know, I I know that this is a team that just has a different feel to it later almost like they believe in themselves a little bit more than some Indiana teams that I've covered here before. But you gotta know that you went all how state you put up a good fight. It ended up in what looks like a blowout loss because it's forty nine twenty six. Gave up six hundred yards of total offense, but you're not gonna play the number three team in the country every single week. And so now you've got to put that behind you and realize this as an Iowa team that has looked vulnerable at times and Zane makes a good point about the fans. Hey, you know, what it's homecoming they get their support the team because this one is one that they're going to have an opportunity, and you just hope that some of those injuries that they suffered at Ohio State for me personally. Anytime they go to Ohio State. I think to myself be competitive give yourself a chance to win in the fourth quarter. Don't get to beat up and Indiana was competitive for three quarters anyway. Got beat up a little bit. And so they didn't check all those boxes. But now you have to turn the page looking at Iowa they're four and one picked up a conference went on the road at Minnesota today. Forty eight thirty one Nate Stanley threw for four touchdown, passes course, twelve o'clock noon coming up. I look back to last year as you played some of these ball games against tough teams. You remember that stretch at home against Michigan the loss in overtime twenty seven to twenty. They went at Michigan state, and we're right there at the end in a more of a defensive game seventeen denied will. Then you had a ball game against Maryland. And that was truly a time. We came back. I'm sure we talked in that Michigan state show post game was okay, you're close enough to get he got to flip the page because I to beat Maryland next week, and they didn't forty two to thirty nine was a loss that just the most recent example, but I'm sure we can look back years past and look up different ball games. Like that. You got to be able to flip the script. Hopefully, we don't see as beat up as a team as maybe we saw that Michigan state ballgame. It just seemed with Cam Joan. Didn't play last week against Rutgers obviously, walked Luke TIMMY, and guys like that have been banged up. See hope that I mean there were a few guys Koi chronic comes to mind Rahim lane. I know was beat up a little bit Thomas Allen as well. You hope there weren't tons and tons of guys that are just overly bruised up that are gonna linger around for a couple of weeks because you want to kind of showcase some of that. Depth that you have that you want to be able to handle that. And you know, that's. That's one of the things is this team's depth is is supposed to be something that they can really rely on. But you don't want to get beat up, and you don't want your key guys to be at that spot. And so I mean, look there there's plenty of positives to take out of this game that you could polish on, and you can learn lessons on you know, that you just played one of the best teams in the country, and we're within striking distance. I know that's the takeaway nobody wants to hear about moral victories. And that's not what we're looking for especially when it's a situation when when you got blown out at the end, it's it's frustrating. They did not play their best football. But again, they were within one score at one point where could have been within one score. I I wouldn't have gone actually that. I know that that coach Allen was defending that decision in the post game. That's fine. That's his view. It's not the one. I would have made. I'm with you on that, which I'm sure it'll come up later on in the show bore back to the phone calls eight hundred five hundred nine. Four to two state beats Indiana this afternoon, forty nine twenty six truths up next truth. We're glad to have you back here on the show you go ahead. Our model? We start we need to finish. No. Gary's great reports. And I hope that we can. The. What we need. Noticed by hardy. And we. Give up big play in the hope. We can get a London gay and the. I hope part. Oh. All right. Truth. Appreciate the phone. Call and three good points made by truth there. The speed of Ohio State, and I figured that would come up, and it was noticeable immediately one from the aspect that. I'm sure who's your fans are maybe more familiar with and certainly listeners of the show that we've come up with a couple of different times. It's been noted that it takes longer than we'd like it too. I think for these defensive play calls to come in and for the defense to get set whether Ohio State saw that used that I'm guessing that was it's obviously the way they run their offense typically. But boy were they quick get into the lie, especially when they would run the ball with Dobbins or Weber. However, they did it at a lot of times you had I use DB's even in the guys in the front seven. They just had a hap head turn towards the sideline of the ball snapped. And we say it every time it came up in the post game shows in previous games. They got away with it. Then it's going to burn them, Ohio State was there, and they were ready for it. And I think that that was part of the problem was on Paris. Campbell's long touchdown. Seventy one yard touchdown on. What we saw this. When the guy who's the offense coordinator and Ohio State was a head coach here at Indiana. I mean, Kevin Wilson runs a very fast offense, and you need to be ready for that. And I I'm telling you that leading the slow incoming defensive calls. I understand what they're trying to do that they want to get a look at the offense, and then get those calls in and you're trying to get this balance. And again, the defense I think at times this year has been not not just good. But very good at times. They're a little confused out there in that part of that. I think is just the the delay in getting the defense on call in. And I really I went back, and I look at that Paris Campbell touchdown a couple of times. And it sure did look like guys were a little confused. She had two guys blitz. And windy. Look like one of them was supposed to go with him. I could be wrong about that. But you could also have a cornerback who's playing man when he when he should be playing zone. Maybe if that play comes in a little bit quicker. You could ask a teammate. And that's so, you know. But you know, when you have a game like this. The past defense. Forget about them getting the call in quickly defense was not as good as we've seen and Ohio State their credit. Did a great job of finding those windows and Haskins did a great job of getting the ball to guys in that open space. But for the first time this year, not only did you have a huge cost on a on a pass play. But you had guys catching the ball in space in a way that we really haven't seen ninety two plays the Ohio State offense ran today. That's just if you didn't watch the game. You didn't listen or perhaps didn't notice just quite how quickly they were moving ninety two plays. That's tough to win. They held the ball for thirty six minutes and forty two seconds and scoring forty nine points. It's it's tough looking at the box score to be particularly a team with that many weapons on offense. You can't give that team thirty six minutes with the football. Yeah. I was gonna say, you know, Indiana used to run ninety plays in a game and still lose. You know, we saw them lose to Rutgers fifty five fifty two. I mean, it's frustrating. There's no. Question. But again, you got to turn the page on this one put it behind you. You did your your best. Your best wasn't good enough that wasn't unexpected. Now, you got to move on to the second half of the season. We're gonna take another break here on the show eight hundred five hundred nine four to two. Those phone lines are open. We'll get back to your phone calls. Forty nine twenty six the final score. "Crunch time here in Indiana thirteen yard line where the hoosiers about to start this drive leading twenty two sixteen year, the final seven nineteen of this game from memorial stadium. It's been raining throughout our man on the sidelines J James has been a weathering at J. What's it like down there? Now. Right. Slow down a bit eight has definitely slowed down tremendously. Dave. So it's not affecting you see guys in the passing game ticket few more different shots offensively with both teams and rain not as bad surface holding up pretty well. So this last seven minutes of the game. You should get an honest shot in Virginia can get the ball back all -fensive to try to execute. All right. Thank you. Jay, Indiana, going first and ten now from their own thirteen and we'll see what the hoosiers have in store for the Cavalier's offense coordinator, Mike Debord. What is he drawn up? Now trying to wind that clock down as much as he can. Seattle the shotgun. Claps his hands before. He takes the snap and answer to Scott, Scott tries the right side. Just keep plowing ahead across the eighteen nineteen twenty wise finally wrapped up after a of a seven yard pickup before he's tackled by Joey blunt with his career high eleventh tackle of this game. The reason joys gotta make so many tackles dots in the secondary so much at blowing through that initial line of defense out of the shotgun Ramsey again on second down. He'll go right back to the workhorse. It's TV Scott moving over the left guard. He's got a first down the middle of a field. Joey blunt once again makes the tackle. But not until he gets to the twenty four so Indiana another first down. And now the clock is something we'll watch closely the rest of the way, six forty counting, Indiana, four point lead and the football. This is where you're looking for a Cam Johnson sack forced fumble. That's last time. Virginia was here at a similar spot about what happened Ramsey takes it himself. Moving on the left side. And he scurries ahead all the way to the thirty for a pickup of seven yards and Indiana. And I look at it down at four and doing exactly what they had hoped to do on this Dr moving it forward. One play at a time and grinding that clock down on the process. Sega down four to go short four for Ramsey Ramsey, hands and Optus, Scott. This time Scott is held up at the line of scrimmage any monster size third-down coming up now for Indiana. Third down three and a half yards to go five fifty in counting Indiana by four canned Virginia find a way to hold them up. Ramsey will let that clock winding down Indiana six make it seven of thirteen on third downs tonight out of the shotgun Ramsey waiting for the snap. Takes it drops back blitz. Common. Throwing air it out test at secondary. And it is caught by Luke TIMMY on a jump ball yet again to the Virginia. Forty those Indiana receivers have been special tonight. Like, I said if you if you're gonna press on and you don't put your hands on. The kiss. I mean, you're gonna be susceptible to the tap plays like that that is a backbreaker so Indiana now in control to the Virginia forty three and a huge third down conversion the hand. Scott Scott scurries around in the backfield not much running room. Now, he's tackle the forty one. It is a one yard pickup. But more importantly that clock continues to tick four fifty six and counting. Now, Indiana can continue to wind it down. They've got thirty more seconds. They gonna run off. They could take it to about four fifteen to play in this game before they even run this play on second down. Cavaliers a season ago in one score contents. Three in Indiana, Owen four that was two thousand seventeen here. We are one year later can't Virginia keep that trend going while they've got work to do and Diana with the play clock continuing to wind down at four seconds. Now, there's the snap dropping back to throw ball is batted into the air. Deemed jurist play is Bryce hall came on the defensive back blitz and that will Mercifully stop the clock. Indiana gambling a bit..
