"England and Germany's sporting female stars showing how it can be done. And even with W series over the weekend, as well, let's hope we see some more progression into Formula One from Formula One's female future, female stars. Before the race, leclerc and saints weren't worried about George Russell being on pole because they said they had the pace to take care of Mercedes, but they hadn't factored in the fierce opposition that they would face from Czech notes. Oh, the Ferrari pit wall it says here. I'm joined by our chief editor Kevin Turner, Jess mcfadden, and at the track again this week racking up the air miles is Luke Smith. Luke, that was to me a masterful drive from Max Verstappen, who looks every bit oven ready for title number two. What do you reckon? Yeah, it is looking that way now. I must say Martin. I mean, 80 points as you say going into the summer break. He could miss the triple header and just come back in Singapore and still be leading the world championship. It's quite a daunting preposition that I think everyone has going into the second half of the season, but I think today again we saw just wire Max Verstappen is yeah, why he is probably the best driver on the grid right now, why he's performing so well. And even in a race where he made a pretty big arrow, let's face it, that's going to cost him a perfect ten on the driver rating. Sorry for any spoilers, but I know F one editor Matthew is working on that as we speak. And yeah, it was that era in the end didn't actually cost him the race win phenomenally. It was like, yeah, I really brilliant displayed by max. For his way from tenth on the grid slowly brought himself back into contention. The pace was there all along and yeah, when we got into the second stint and when he made that switch to the final set of medium tyres, that is what clenched it. His pace from there was so, so good. Ferrari definitely played into Red Bull's hands and definitely helped max win that race because yeah, they threw away what should have been a definite victory today. But yeah, I think they I think Verstappen again proved why he is the world champion elect. Why is the world champion and why ties with number two is really looking like a formality at this point because he's operating on such a high level right now even he can spin he can qualify tenth and still come back and comfortably win the race. Jess, we saw a brilliant overtake going into turn one from Verstappen for the lead, just amazing ultimate car control. How well did you rate his race? Yeah, I think I have to just echo Luke's comments. It was a champions drive. I think he said on the radio to his engineer GP said we stayed calm and we won the race and I think that is the epitome of Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing, at least on his side of the garage. It's very controlled, very determined. We even saw it at the start, you know, he was clearly out of position starting P ten today. But he managed to keep his nose clean, literally and figuratively speaking. And just stuck it where he knew he could tire management was a one strategy was a one and he's gone from P ten to winning the race, which is just kind of incredible when you consider how competitive Ferrari Mercedes was looking at least at the start of the weekend, but that quickly petered out. I know Lewis Hamilton has come out and said, if he hadn't had that DRS problem and finished as far back as he had, he had the pace to win the race today. Which you would, he was the fastest guy out on track as we drew the race to a close. I think there is definitely an argument to be had, but I know we don't really like to deal in what ifs because anything could have happened had it played out differently, but yeah, Max Verstappen, he I mean, I've been saying it for a little while now. I wanted it to not be the case, but I don't think max has a competitor this year. In terms of anybody that's going to be looking to challenge him, it would take an absolute implosion at Red Bull. For him to not walk away as the defending champion and champion again this year. And Kev, you've been critical of max before, which didn't win you too many Dutch fans, but you were just, you were just saying it as you saw it. On our season review podcast at the end of the year, you didn't dispute max's talent. You had some issues with the way he went racing. Do you think now that he's got that championship under his belt, you've seen him perhaps become more of a full package? What did you rate his race today? Yes, I think he is a more complete package. I mean, my main issue with him in 2021 was the will to will. Battling with his hands and we talked about that a lot and I think he's shown on numerous occasions this year that he is capable of fighting cleanly and winning and losing he can measure depending on the circumstances. Apart from perhaps I think you took liberties with Schumacher at Silverstone for a championship contender, which we talked about at the time, otherwise now I think he has been very he's becoming a complete package, but I will just take an issue a little bit with Luke and just like he's still throw it off today and had a spin and in another situation that costs you the win. Now he's had two mistakes in races this year in Spain and Hungary that would normally cost you points in its costume absolutely zero and the reason it's costume zero is because of other things going on, namely Mercedes still isn't quite quick enough and Ferrari are a shambles on the pit bull. But that's not maxis Phil. He's delivering. I thought it was a very cool calculated drive other than that moment. He always looked in control out there. Another commentary was getting quite excited about Lewis charging up, but I don't think there was any ever doubt that max was going to win it. I think Lewis second was probably all he was going to get. So now he's going to be in the world championship, no question. Do you think that on a different day on a different corner if he'd have spun perhaps into the gravel or hit a wall, taking himself out, people would have been much more critical of his car controller. I believe he was suffering at the time with either a slipping clutch or he had some technical problems, I think, that were causing him to change some settings on the wheel. Yeah, yeah, that's true. That's true, I think. Well, I thought it was a great recovery. He lost very minimal time. I mean, his car can travel. He's fantastic. I mean, remember the very sideways moment in Brazil in 2016, which I don't think many drivers would have got out of that one at interlagos.

"Max Verstappen beat Charles Leclerc to victory, in Formula One's first Miami Grand Prix, winning after passing on track early on and defying pressure after a late safety car caused by a collision between McLaren's Lando Norris and Pierre gasly. Ferrari could not turn their front row lockout into a one two finish and I want to know from the guys on the podcast today where the Red Bull considered themselves unlucky not to get a one to finish. It was a power unit issue possibly holding Perez back in fourth. Instead, it would be Verstappen, leclerc, science, podium, not the last time we've seen that podium I bet you in 2022. I'm joined on the podcast today from Miami. It's so nice to have you guys all sat around a table back at the races again. We've got Luke Smith, Jess mcfadden and out of his box, Stuart coddling at cottage will start with you back at a Grand Prix. Literally out of my suitcase and out of the box room, which I share with the air con unit, which we've fortunately turned off so that our listeners don't hear some terrible wine in the background. Usually the wine in the background is me, of course. Carlos Sainz finished third ahead of a hobbled Sergio Pérez. George Russell coming in 5th in the first of the Mercedes followed by Lewis Hamilton, Russell would gain massively with the safety car timing and beating his teammate in that battle afterwards. Verstappen, well, he would do half the job at the start of the race, being aggressive around the outside of turn one to take second place from Carlos Sainz and really science had nowhere to go if he had a break any later. He risked running into the back of his teammate so Verstappen taking one place there on lap 7 Verstappen would get within DRS range of Leclair and two laps later passed him at the same turn one to take the lead and from them never looked back. Was it an easy cruise to victory? Could Ferrari have won today in any way? Well, Mercedes Benz delighted after that 5th and 6th. Other stories to get into today Bottas, finishing 7th, but will he feel hard done by because he was running much higher for much of the race. Aachen finishing in 8th some late penalties, which if you turned off the coverage, straight after you might not know about, Alonso, you might think was 9th, but he wasn't two 5 second penalties. In 9th place, Alex Albon and in tenth, Lance stroll. So let's start with Luke. From the coverage, which always is difficult when you're watching the Formula One on the director is choosing certain things. It looked like a bit of a not quite a walk in the park because he looked pretty shattered afterwards with his helmet off, but it did look like Verstappen had that one under control. What's your analysis? I think he did definitely face pressure from leclerc. I think Red Bull definitely had the pace of advantage this weekend. I think that we saw it was pretty comfortable once he got those moves completed and got into the lead and he managed to build up quite a decent advantage over the first and he didn't need to react immediately when the clerk tried to get a bit of an undercut because the gap was so big left it too laps and came in. And yeah, it was still a good sort of 6, 7 seconds up the road and was able to hold that gap pretty firm. And I think that the only real pressure we saw max come under was after the safety car period and that obviously gave the clerk a chance to get back into the fight. They were on the same similar age of hard tires. That obviously meant there wasn't a huge advantage either way. And DRS meant that leclerc was able to get close. Now a few times he was sort of having a little look, getting quite close, but he can never get close enough to really go for a proper lunge and make a move and then yeah, we saw leclerc in the closing stage just began to fall away a little bit and that max was able to get home pretty comfortably in the end. But I think it was, yeah, it was a weekend that I think he definitely had to fight through. I thought that he was brilliant at the start. He said that he found a lot of grip on the outside of turn one, which was something a lot of the drivers didn't really find. They were all trying to stick on that inside, but he swung it around the outside well to get science. And I think that it was a really good performance for max. I think he's going to be quite high on Alex's drive ratings, not a ten though, without wishing to bring any spoilers in, but it was, yeah, I think a really good display from max. And I think that, again, points to the fact that Red Bull does have a very slight but very important pace advantage over Ferrari at the moment. And for max, I think there's a stack going around Twitter of all the races he's actually finished this year and that includes the sprint race at imola, of course. He's won. So it's a really, really strong start to the year for him. And obviously not leading the championship, but I think him and Red Bull are in a really good spot right.

"You'll notice I'm not Ariana. In just a few hours she'll be flying off to Abu Dhabi with the rest of the F one paddock. So instead, I'm temporarily taking the reins, and I'm joined by Luke Smith, F one reporter for auto sport and Hayden Cobb editor of autosport dot com. But before we all try and make sense of exactly how that Grand Prix played out, for those listeners who tune into the podcast for the results, and we know there are a few of you. Here's the short version. In a bizarre race that required two restarts and four virtual safety cars, Lewis Hamilton beat Max Verstappen to victory to set up a final round showdown as they head to Abu Dhabi level on points. That's the first time that's happened since 1974 with McLaren's Emerson Fittipaldi, battling Ferraris clay regazzoni for the championship. Bottas took third from ocon in a dash to the line on the final lap, finishing just a few meters ahead. Behind them, Ricardo managed to climb up to 5th, followed by gasly, leclerc, saints, jovina, and a disappointed Lando Norris rise up the points in tenth. Max Verstappen picked up a 5 second time penalty for passing off the track, and after the race was issued a ten second time penalty for sudden breaking and causing a collision for the break check incident with Lewis Hamilton. But that penalty didn't end up affecting the results as Bottas was 16 seconds behind max. There were two red flags, two standing restarts, three different pole sitters, four virtual safety cars, and at least two clashes between the title rivals in a race which is easily the most frantic of the year. And with that said, and I'm pretty surprised that we managed to get such a succinct summary considering the action, I wanted to kick off the podcast as we usually do guys by asking you for your ratings for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. I'm really interested to know what you guys are going to say. I think there's such a mixed feeling towards this race for various reasons, but Luke, why don't we start off with you? What was your rating for the race? Yeah, very mixed feelings, actually, because we've had this amazing fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Don't get me wrong, it was incredible to see the instance and everything that happened. And there was so much drama throughout the race, but in terms of actual strategy or intrigue or on track action, it wasn't actually like overtaking or anything like that and a raw fight between the two title rivals. Yeah, maybe it maybe didn't hit some of the heights that we've seen earlier in the season. So there's a bit of a funny one. I thought it was a bit of a messy race with all of the VSC's and debris and everything like that going on. And yeah, it was kind of we kept having these continual battles where we had Lewis will get close to max, max would then be aggressive, Louis would have to back out, we keep repeating that basically. So yeah, I would probably give it a 7 or an 8, I would say. I probably I think, yeah, it's not the kind of race. It's a race on me don't remember and we will remember this so so much. It's so exciting for the championship. But in terms of an out and out race, I think if you take away that lead battle throughout the rest of the field, actually it was quite tame in places. So yeah, I would go with the name. It was a very memorable race and a good race and many places, but it wasn't a ten out of ten or anything like that. For me, can I have two ratings, please? I'll explain why. First one is the entertainment side of it in terms of what makes an entertaining race and I think you've got to go ten out of ten for that because like you say there is so much going on. I'm so impressed the way you summed it up in about three minutes because just trying to cover it in the written form, it's like pages upon pages of everything. So it just had a little bit everything that you almost forget little instances to happen here or there, which for the spectator taking out the sporting purist take on it. It just was incredible and difficult to kick up with. But as Luke said, I think yeah, from perhaps more to what was pure sporting racing situation, take a few marks down from there. I'd agree on the 7, because yes, the back of the front was great, but maybe we didn't see a great deal else going on, but that probably because of the Java suit carnage that was actually unfolding everywhere you looked. Yeah, it was definitely, I think a controversial, I don't even want to because obviously it's been questioned as to whether we are even going to call it a race. And I guess in the fallout in the quotes that have come out post race, max and Red Bull have very much vocalized the fact that they don't believe this is Formula One, that this was an example of penalties and politics, getting in the way of quote unquote racing. Which I'm sure we're going to get on to when we get around to the penalties. But I thought I have to agree with you guys in terms of, I mean, my heart rate, I don't think dipped below one 60 BPM for that entire length of time of the race. Maybe see your doctor about that. I mean, genuinely, I felt like I'd been treat this trait this is therapy. This is a safe space for you. It's time to talk over the troubles that we've just witnessed and go from there. I mean, it's been great. I feel like I don't have to go for a run, because I basically did, however, long we had of some hard cardio based on the fact that it just never seemed to want to calm down. It just had every time you thought it couldn't twist anymore. It twisted again. And the momentum just seemed to swing between Lewis and max throughout. But in order for us to really process and analyze and give the listeners a bit of a viewpoint on exactly what happened out in Saudi Arabia today, I thought we would try and attack this by going through it in chronological order. Just the major points otherwise we will probably be doing a 5 hour podcast, but why don't we begin? Because I guess to your point Luke, the race started off quite simply, given the start for formula two, we'd seen that it can get quite chaotic and there was also throughout the weekend the worries about the safety of the track and formula two with the crash that we saw in formula two as well. Not necessarily to do with the circuit itself, but obviously was quite a harsh start of race procedures today. What did you make of the start of the Grand Prix? And what did you believe was going to be playing out? Did you think it was going to be that boring the whole way through? Or did you know that chaos was most likely coming? It was a quite a serene start and it tallies with a lot of Italy's with what a lot of drivers said that it would be one of two races that would either be chaos and crazy and lots going on or it would be very tame and not a lot happens. And I think back to Baku when it had its first race, the F two race was absolutely crazy. All of the F one guy saw it and thought, okay, if I take it easy and just get to the finish, that will probably be enough..

Yeah it's going up. Maybe today or tomorrow i mean probably by time podcast on like mr fruit. Destiny and on playing destiny throwback beat like ninety percent of the contract. It'd be like. You can't come back man. Like one thing i don't understand about that is there so i don't think i don't think you see any other gaming community except for destiny. Well it's because the game so the game like hold you hostage because in order to get the most out of the next thing coming you have to put in a certain amount of time into the seasons to get certain weapons that will probably be pretty good in the next x pack. So if you don't play anybody got that foam. Oh if you don't play Intermediate amounts each season than you are or possibly might may or may not be opposed to a specific percent of the audience who is also being held by their balls by luke smith who is saying if you don't play this game for intermediate maritime every season that you will be left behind you come to experts with all these cool weapons. Did you have to go back and get because you're not a real destiny gamer. Therefore you're loser how dare you okay. Well i hate to break a t- though but we can't among smith i'm not even sure is on the project anymore. The new game director actually just got announced. Yeah it's I saw gig swedish a picture and it was like the pope holding a picture of him which is cool. Because i actually remember talking to him years ago. Oh really when. I went yeah. I'm trying to think you're like. Hey frozen stuff. What expansion introduced bows of forsaken forsaken shaken. So when i went to destiny to preview for shaken because they're working with vicarious visions. I believe he worked with vicarious visions. Not even bungee. If i remember correctly and i remember talking because i was giving them feedback on the bow and stuff because i guess he like worked really closely on the bow specifically mike areas has made some of the most banger content indefinitely to and He was a really really cool and chill dude and he really liked the game. So i'm happy for him to see him. Climb that ladder now. He's game director so go on sun. Let's dope i think destiny. I has turned to the point for me. It's day one raid. Get ready for that. And as soon as that happens. I check out and back to the desi community thing like i. It's funny that like it's left like you missed out. I feel like if you like if you're in the overwatch community and you break the overwatch kind of thing and you play other games for you man like you like wow. I think it's the same kind of thing like you got to final fantasy. Do good for you may on onto bigger and better with. It's like you stay here forever like you know. It's like i guy quiet. I can already imagine to the the comments about this. Part of the podcast. I'm already telling you that we are jaded new players. We don't wanna hear about european on destiny if it's a bad one and i hope you know that it's very lukewarm. Hoping it's luke warm. It's like coming back. It's like yeah. I mean i'm coming back and i'm gonna play. I know what to expect them at like high. But like i'll play it and i hope you know if you if you were typing accommodate like that leaving comment like that like you're the reason you're the reason your community gets done. I hope you know that. But i think also it's you're talking to people who play desi since day one and two but i hate the fucking game. I think we're just nears. I haven't even when i went to go play phone fancying. I'll still playing destiny. Alright dude i hate it here. I think we're just tired of the same formula and that formula works for other people and it worked for us at some point. But i think we're just looking for new wave because like even sorry. Sorry i like has a good point. Oh my god plastic. Good point about micro transaction talk about about the leveling system that as a whole as a pretty court system that i feel like doesn't seem like it's getting addressed yet It's very say me. Because like i haven't jumped on for season two the loss. Let's sleep day one and say this is exactly what i it's like. This is exactly what i know. And that's not a bad thing but like it's just another season is another bounty grind like. Oh you wanna go through the season pass. Grind out bounties So it is what it is different. It'd be and this is where i like. It would be different if we played the game every day and had these opinions and said these kinds of things and was like the games bad of stuff. And we're still playing the fucking game. Guess what we're not anymore so it's like totally different like it's it's different for me to be like these are the changes i'd like to see it'd be like well. You still play the game rob but it's like well i don't actually because those are happening even then it's like if you did play the day like win your opinion also matter just as much as you don't play it every day so it's like will and i think your your opinion. Our opinion matters to in. It's in a different bucket though. It's of people who used to grind the game a whole bunch but no longer do why is that. I think that's an important demographic everyone has to look at. I mean that's like me is like somebody like a viewer. He used to like watch videos daily. Now they don't watch him at all. Why is that. Yeah nothing to you if you kid all right nothing to do with you well. Let's the different. This is a great design. decision That if you look at the final frantic if you look at the final fancy fourteen Their design philosophy. One of the big things was If people are passionate it's because they still care and the people who leave are the ones who are silent And those people's opinions matter just as much as the people who still play the game and i was just like wow file fancy. Fourteen is free through heaven. Sword and Did you guys know that you can actually get up a little sixty in these jobs. Like dark knight and ashes jockey by square unix and it's actually like really cool and Like the you know the new rate here just got uncapped and well. It's been on cap like there's no echo or there's echo now so if you knew to savage is great jump back in you know your friends. Your friends play the games you might as well just give it a shot and then you know tries to play Blue so we actually didn't have you on last week when we talked about the newest Poke amman what did you think of it real quick. It looks cool. I okay so i part of me understands how people can just like blindly follow this like abusive.

That has this idea that like if you go and leave destiny to play another game like can't come back you can't come back. It can come back. It's like an elephant in the room. It's luke smith at luke. Smith comes closet and says i stream that it's like what sprayed us look at the mirror and say destiny two three times and luke smith. You fucking some fucking forty year. Old dude from minnesota just comes on just like you're fucking pose. Not what advice. But it's okay so true bad like It's not that i went into ice rink destiny too. I was so scared to go back in the destitute directory. I streamed in the destiny one directory. Like that's like a. It's a serious problem. I was just like whatever i was doing. South on and i was like seventeen hours in so at this point. I had like an hour left. And benny was like. Hey let's just play some destiny. And i was like whatever it'd be funny and everybody will freak out and i was like but i refused to go into the destitute directory. 'cause i know it'd be like your back. Wait i thought you quit. But i'm going to say it say it's it was whelming. It was okay about the witch queen. Reveal yeah it was okay. I was like yeah but like it wasn't it didn't blow me away which should be i guess at point. I probably just have unrealistic expectations. But like what would it take you to be blown away. That's what i'm waiting for like. I mean the glades cool. We about that I like eating sharp bright. Or what's grave weapons that you're talking about. Oh i think he's talking about the environment owned comes into the new. The new the new type i thought it was like the new land. They called it like yeah well. That'll be swamped. I didn't really expect new subclass Because they're finally putting the lights glasses to the stasis treatment which is good but they didn't show us anything and all were getting apparently is one is like some fragments for only void. I wish they'd be like yo. Here's the whole white revamp but they're just gonna rolled out slowly. My problem isn't like the supers classes or anything it's just like i want the loot to mean something i want. Well that was my other problem. I can't remember the name shadow. Keep whatever where it's like. There's like ten weapons the entire expansion. "Bungee outlines destiny twos, upcoming content roadmap, and we probably won't see destiny three anytime soon. Earlier this week, bungee outlined the kind of stuff coming to destiny to all the way into twenty twenty two. Season of arrivals and beyond light expansions. Before the end of the year, the witch queen will arrive next year and light. Fall will becoming in twenty twenty two, and there will also be a destiny content vault that will cycle previous updates in and out of the game. It's frankly impressive. That bungee has as much planned as it does as far in advance as it does, it's not unexpected. I think I've even said it a few times on this podcast, but another update that came as a result of all this is, it seems Bungee does not currently have plans for destiny three. POLYGONS Gilliam reported on the lack of a new numbered entry for destiny and wrote after the announcement on. June, Ninth Game Director Luke Smith jumped onstream with Dr Lupo to talk about destiny twos future in the short Q. and A. Session. Luke Smith told Dr Lupo that Bungee does not plan on making destiny. Three and a new article, detailing the evolving world destiny to the studio wrote that splitting the destiny community was frustrating enough for players that bungee recognizes. It is a mistake. We don't want to repeat by making a destiny three. Polygon had its own chance to talk with Luke Smith and asked him if the name of the game would ever revert to just destiny, and he said at this time. We're going to keep focusing our efforts on the game itself. There are a lot of moving parts for changing the name whether it's work with platforms string files, title screens storefront work. It's a lot of work. There are a bunch of really successful games with twos on the box. One of my favorites, Doda to springs immediately to mind. It's worth noting Luke Smith that as far as I know I don't think Doda to has ever been in a box I could be wrong about that. At this point in the destiny, franchises life cycle realistically. The name does not matter in the slightest people who play the game. Just call destiny and Smith is right. Having to in the title doesn't really hinder it anyway I don't think anyone who is interested in jumping into destiny at this point pauses and thinks they should play the first game before diving in the game. Really should at this point just be called destiny, though it's not really a series anymore. Destiny two is a platform. It would be like if world of warcraft I big expansion was called broad of warcraft two, and the name just stuck as Blizzard updated the game into oblivion. A little odd, but everyone just.

"News be about a a nerd on the podcast episode. If I didn't mention destiny in some capacity off listening I know that now admittedly recently have been kind of waning on destiny. Oh little how dare you but good for you? Good news is this next season. Desi looks actually pretty cool called season of the worthy. It's they're bringing back a a very beloved game mode from destiny. One called trials of a cyrus. Which is he activity dollars saying the best of the best. The Egyptian God like the Egyptian got Egyptian. God it's like Friday Sunday every weekend and I became a ritual for people playing anyone one but they didn't really return on the right way to and then they cancelled it and it's been like a couple of years now that they brought it back. I remember it was a lot of fun and yeah I'm definitely GONNA be playing that season a lot more but the real kind of scoop. I guess would be every year the director of the game. Luke Smith does something called a director's cut which is a giant blog about the state of the game etc etc and. He said some really interesting things in this latest one. That came out a couple of weeks ago and essentially. He was talking about like some systems that he wanted to make. Sure that guns expire not expire. Sort of. Like you know they kind of Wayne an ally yet. You get new guns later on. So they're saying he said something like a gun is going to be good for about nine to fifteen months before it stops being effective and then game and we're like what's your roadmap for the game. Forget about what you just said nine hundred eighteen months so for culture swine. Is there a short amount of time? There are some some some analysis here. Now about release schedule is it. As for the UNCULTURED swine. Is that a short amount of time for four to worse. Not necessarily and I have my thoughts on that. We can talk about that in a different episode. But I wanted to bring attention to is that Luke Smith is basically just now saying that destiny twos at least has another fifteen months and the roadmap if not more oh.

"And certainly. We've noticed that there are more autonomous teams but there are some more remote teams there are people who are working not in same timeframe asynchronous teams things like that. How is that changing? And how does that change the way you design your for the teams the type of people you might recruit the skill sets the cognitive skill sets that you're looking for. I find that a very challenging situation. Right it's fine and it's absolutely doable. Impossible to have remote teams in a synchronous teams but it really does beg the question of of Number One. How many people are able to contribute? Or how how? How many how are people able to contribute over slack or a video conferencing in a way that is human and in a way that builds report and in a way that builds trust and I think getting to that is is quite difficult and there are folks who do really well in their folks who actually quite light being behind the computer screen but I think at least in my experience there was some things that tiny things that I do to help those conversations long so normally there is a time in which everyone can get together and talk together and I personally just start those conversations with either. What's the one thing that's bugging you today? Or what's irritating you today so that we get back to the very human level because we often go witness would have pace right. Get OUT FOSTER FOSTER FOSTER PASTA and we'll get to go back to the very basics of people being people and when you do that the stuff that would happen you know when somebody walks in and throws the bag on the table and you know that rotate. It doesn't happen right. So how'd you encourage people to share? That I think is is a question that comes back to being human. So it's about doing things like check ins or ice breakers at the beginning of meetings and making that part of the routine. Yeah except I wouldn't call it a check in icebreaker because then it becomes a form of thing but I think if you can have just have someone who goes I mean. I often get them to these things ago. My God what an awful day right and it sets the scene for somebody else to answer in the same way or whatever it may be so I think just just really getting back to being a human being is something. We've seem to have forgotten how to do but it works really well awesome. Should does this all come back to which of the last few years. I've heard people reference Google's project aristotle again and again in the concept of creating psychological safety teams. Is that still the root thing that we're trying to do with all this? No matter how much diversity you bring in no matter what environment you're working in. Is that really the secret superpower of creating psychological safety for your team. I think everyone's trying to collect psychological safety anywhere. I don't think it's just in teams. They get the ship you can fix. The rest of the world made that way. It'd be delighted work for dry. I think it's about creating the right environment for people to feel like they can be who they are and share what they need to share. We're so caught up with this. If I say this will I be? I had some of the other day. Tate say to me. I wasn't sure whether or not I should say this now or whether I should wait. I'm like well wait for what I don't know what you'd be waiting for right. And that kind of question and is a reflection of people either not not feeling like they know or they are stupid or they can't contribute and then none of those things and none of those things at all so I think it's about creating the conditions where people can. I'm going to sound very accession where people can be okay with saying what they need to say. And so we're talking about. The general topic has been the kind of cognitive diversity but in terms of other diversity a generally businesses are aiming gender and cultural diversity. If you achieve those those things do you naturally end up with some sort of cognitive diversity because that diversity helps the other diversity I always find that fascinating question because I grapple that myself. I personally personally often find that if you go for. Who's my you know? Where am I my non disciplinary skill sets and his team? You end up with the other stuff too so I so. I don't think I need at least for me. I don't think you know I think about those the gender and race stuff. I often think about the other things I do. I need a great storyteller. I need somebody who really understands X. I need somebody who's tip typically for me at least by doing that. I ended up fooling the other markets to awesome the best thing. I've ever heard about diversity as if you're at a meeting look down if everyone's wearing the same kind of shoes you're not diverse enough now down. There was really cold. Them was called exactitude or something like that and it shows literally people saying they will be different but looking exactly the same. I mean if you look at products right or products wants to be different but if you ask everyone to hold up their mobile phone regardless if he made it they all look the same. So I think it's spot on co seven some other ways to to measure whether we are achieving diversity. Question they'd like tacky before we wrap things up in return you to your lunch one hundred nevertheless Hungary and shy. I think we just asked all the questions right because we are just awesome. Thank you very much. Everyone who's actually paying attention. Thank you very much. Have a wonderful rest of the conference and we'll talk to you later. Thanks thanks Raqi. What an awesome job rocky. Has I want to spend time thinking about how we set up. Habitats Mas Yeah. That is pretty cool but you know we do have a pretty cool job already interviewing all of these great people. It's basically the next best thing it is. I have no idea what people really think and it would be good to get Outta so. Here's the question. Should we continue to ask our guests to injure themselves stop continued or should we get straight to the heart of the matter and skip the background of August? That would be good to know answers in tweet please. Or leave a comment in the review section and come back next week for some great tips on product. "That's kind of very height height. The a lot of closed closed-doors aerial zone stuff don't know what it was called. Its earth are your aerials. Yeah and it's just like you have have a way point across a map and just trying to find a way of cross. It is really tough. A lot of buildings closed doors like things. You can't get through that constantly. I'm sorry if i played a more i know more about it but i played a few times and also they gave you a bunch of like seven hundred level upgrades drained so you have to make them better. I need to content like as soon as they get into this mode where it's like all right. It's the same content but we have eight hundred new pieces of armor and games free to chase. I'm like i can't i'd rather have that than than kind of i mean it. It feels like they're still trying to wrap you up too because i i left off around five four d i level and now they're uptight. Thank god only knows at least seven hundred probably a lot more than that maybe eight. I feel like i'm so far behind that go to start ramping up my gear by this is a little bit of a clumsy solution but it's a lot better than like seems fine. I would have been shitty if you need to pick one platforms worth of characters. Those are the only ones you have going forward at least being able to switch between them like it's kind of a way to have more characters on the same platform than you did before day. This stuff is just really weird between p._c.'s steam empty activision blizzard because i don't log into a bungee account log into my i was just the yeah the battle so i'm not gonna log into that and there's always been a bungee account okay. Is it just the same email and password rush who create one when you start the game out today required. It might be optional but it's on there. It's all on their website. Okay like you tied it on your own. In fact a lot of people will probably done this figure it out but it's <hes> seems pretty sensible. Sure <hes> uh-huh. I wish them the best of luck. I'm i'm really looking forward. Thoughts are with their friends. I'm really looking forward to the free. Stuff is gonna be great too but having it free. I think they've i'm sorry they lash out. They announced that at heathrow now. It's going to be a chaotic chaotic day on those figure what school i really like the moon from the first game so excited to go back to kind of migrate. What's up. Are you gonna migrate well. Yeah i mean you don't lose anything right as well. Although i have basically never i very i want to progress. I care about outside of the place. Okay like for me all that it really lets me do pick up my p._s. Four territories play with people on the socal version is really good l. Fantastic also a let's see luke smith has basically he he was doing the state of the game thing where he would right up his thoughts about where they're at in terms of design. I guess he's now calling that director's cut. He says he's got a new one which is two thousand single spaced pages that he has written about the state of destiny me but apparently he just put out the first installment of that this morning. If you really want to read a lot about the design of destiny people seem very happy with where that game is at compared to where it's still fun to play so i put up. I've put a lot of shit in that game that was off putting because the game is it's fun to play judging judging by the tone of the replies to him on twitter. Now versus say a year to year and a half ago. People seem much happier yeah. Let's see more quick things..

"How do we get the payoff of a mean and the fake Alvin gentry should we do it here? Because I really don't think this joke, is going to land. We spent all show building it up. One more time. Let's play the sound of Alvin gentry, that I mean deemed required for this setup. That's all boats. So mean claims that he can sound exactly like that. Again. Is that right now is that what we should do it right now? That was the setup the setup before we get into funniest thing this weekend, you get out of here. Ten minutes. What was the funniest thing? Just get outta here. What was the funniest thing from the sports weekend? Chris Eddy curry. In the big three league. It's ridiculous. You gotta see this. We'll tell give give us some more. Well, he's just large. And I know I probably it's a little mean. But he's way bigger than I expected him to be and Amari starter marriages Rippin the ball. He's he I don't know what he's doing out there. He must have been the last pick in the draft. Billy, how about you funniest thing from the sports weekend. Louisville pitcher, Luke Smith. Struck out his tenth batter the game to end the eighth inning. And then he was drawing back and forth with some of the Vanderbilt players where he very clearly said bleep you multiple times and they had the lead at the time then Vanderbilt came back and scored two runs in the ninth and they beat Louisville. Well that guy looked like you. It was like you were out there yelling bleep you, you would never do that. You know what happens when you go into people? But you'll back ROY what was what was the funniest thing from this weekend. Any Joe drafts this weekend. And the Florida Panthers drafted a teenager, who is on the other side of main coober thickness, driver's test yet to leave the test, go to the arena to do media, and he went back to finish this test. He passed. Mike. What about you really wasn't that funny? But it was a shocking display from Cameroon in the World Cup yesterday. They spat on somebody. They shoved the referee they refuse to take the field. They were just menace to society, that came Rune women's national team and embarrassment to the game. They don't miss a room. That was good. That was good day here. Yes. Unfair to him. Why would you lack so much confidence that you would leave the room on that funniest part of Cameroon was when all eleven players were standing in the goal trying to block a goal of a an indirect kick? And they still allowed the goal. I'm going to go to the big three as well. This is the Josh myth and Royce white were tossed from a big three game. They were thrown out and because of STAN Van Gundy, Josh Smith will count five point three million against the pistons cap next season. Donlevatar texture writes in been.

"Now as good as the Yankees have been baseball wise, so far in this great shirts for Aaron judge came out to disable this the college World Series has been unreal. So far in the almost week week and a half that's been going on. Now. We have the finalist for the college World Series. Michigan one today, they took care of Texas, they'd beat them. So they're going to play in game one of the championship on Monday. They're gonna take on Vanderbilt team that's been tremendous all season long, and they needed tonight, because Luke Smith Louisville pitcher was really getting into the Vanderbilt baseball team when he struck out a play in the bottom of the eighth inning with Louisville leading to two one. He was dropping f. Bombs all over the place, especially to one of the batters in the ninth inning. Luke Smith found out that life comes at you fast to, to DeMarco. Breaking. Three two. Fair, no doubt about that. Great call by call ravaging, the college World Series on ESPN. I'll give credit for this at the game was over. He said, I respect Vanderbilt. I celebrate a strikeout based celebrated a big hit and the knife of that's how it goes. I wonder how many of guys were giving the f bomb treatment back to Luke Smith at. He gave it to them in the eighth inning when Lula to one lead in the elimination game for them that's been part and parcel of the college World Series. It has been fantastic. Action game when the college World Series championship Michigan on one.

"But as a gamer is a destiny person like who plays us need to. I'm a little like, okay. This is just reinforced to me the idea that this game is now probably going to end sooner rather than later. Right. Like, wouldn't you think they're going to be like, okay? Let's we're gonna move onto new thing. And maybe it's the thing that I've been hoping for forever, which is just like destiny United, and it's just all destiny under one thing is just called destinies go play it like every rate every level every, you know, public area. Whatever something like that. That would be cool, but that's going to be. Unrelated to this version of destiny that we're all playing right now. And that means that while it was always true. That are sub was impermanent. It anytime something like that happens. Just like when they announced destiny to anything that makes me like it reminds me of you know, the expiration date of this game. It makes me just not wanna play that much anymore. And so it kind of hurts my like motivation to go play which is fine because I've played enough destiny to already plenty of too. So. Time for me to jump on board the destiny bandwagon. Finally, then you guys are telling me, oh, this gives you a free. I have the opposite thought because I thought so under activision like I said before they had their on the strict cadence, right? It was. So if we look back at the past few years, it was also the contract it said destiny one then comment. One comment is the codename for expansions in the dusty world, then destiny to comet to and doesn't even comma three it was like eight years like every single you're one of these things over the course of this process bungee to delay destiny to a year. So what wound up happening was two thousand fourteen September. This is also temper does anyone next year taken king next year twenty sixteen rise of iron twenty seventeen destiny two and then twenty eighteen for Sekine. Right. So just going by that pattern under the current contract and agreement. I would have ain't I would have guessed the destiny. Three would arrive in like fall, twenty twenty probably like to coincide with next gen consoles gonna say to coincide with the president. Of course. You would you would fight like whoever just. Three. And then that would be determined Kirk. You can tell that you're like you're removed from gaming because when you hear fall twenty twenty you think of presidential. Like a real thing that affects the real world and not our shitty. Little crazy little video, which is also real also affects all of us. So I don't know why it is important. Let's say little bubble does. Shitty. It's it's important. It's important Morton in different anyway. So yeah. So I would think that now they would delay. Whatever destiny three becomes if they do a destiny three or whatever they do. I would think they would delay it as far as possible. I don't even think they have that much done again with the other element of this is that Luke Smith on Twitter. And actually, this is a good segue into our question Balu Smith on Twitter. So what happened was and then I'll read the question. So what happened was in November of last year? Activision had an earnings call and on that earnings. Call one of their executives said they were disappointed with the sales performance of destiny twos for Sekine, which is true. They were and Luke Smith who is one of the directors at of destiny of the. Whole franchise could shockers Smith. I think we can call him former talking talking. He tweeted that he was not disciplining destiny to for sake..
