Summerfest announces new three-weekend format for 2021

"New announcement. About what Summer fest 2021 is going to look like and we're joined right now. In the first Midwest Bank hotline by summer fest, CEO Don Smiley, Don. Good Afternoon. Good afternoon, Jeff. How are you? I am Well, thank you. Okay, Let's talk about the big news. What Summer fest. 2021 is going to look like and then we'll kind of explore why That decision was made, but so what? It's gonna look like Sure we're we're changing the festival format. The three weekends versus 11 days, so we'll start on June 24th and work 24 25 26. July, 123 and July 89 10. We will eliminate two Sundays, two Wednesdays and a Tuesday. That's five days. So what the essence of this is and and what we discovered through? Surveys and focus groups in in in in and data mining was that our customers want Mohr national bands. Earlier in the day. Can so We're going to take the expenses from those five days that I just gave to you and we're going to reallocate them to the weekends. Where will have local bands up early, but well, you you can picture a national band. Being on the Harley stage or the Miller stage at 5 P.m. and then another headliner at nine or 10 o'clock that evening, so it's an effort to go after more quality. Versus quantity and really fish. When the fish are biting, more people are more apt to be out on the weekends. Thursday, Friday Saturday with disposable income And And in using their energy entertainment dollars on those days versus the five days that I gave you, which, really when it came right down to it, they were really weak and that is W e a K. There were weak days for us, and we were spending a lot of money to produce those days and our money can be better spent in reallocating tow three weekends done. This is just in some ways respects. The logical progression in number means. Summer fest originally was always Thursday through Sunday, 11 days and a number of years ago. You made the decision. To to drop that first Monday because of a variety of things, including, I think week attendant, So this is really just kind of a logical progression of that I would imagine. It is. I mean, you know when you look at Theaters and restaurants and so on. I mean, you find a lot of businesses closed on Mondays. But when you're running a music festival The expenses are are are significant and Whatever you can. Maximize those dollars on different days. We concluded that that's the way to go. Even though it's too less days we're gonna have we're gonna have better bands and we're gonna have the bands that our customers our fans are looking for is still at a very affordable price. We're still gonna have free gated missions. We're still gonna have promotion days. We're still gonna have Children's fast day. It's such a It's such so none of that's going to change. We're just going to camp up. No pun intended thie the quality of the of the bands that we signed and on top of that on the fringes. If you will, pre summer fest in post summer fast, we're going to do a lot of shows in the American family insurance amphitheater in the beam, O'Hare's Pavilion will probably do more shows. And those two buildings that in the history of the festival So there's going to be a lot of activity in that building. It was too bad we couldn't use it the summer Ah, it turned out beautiful. And I'm referring to the reconstruction of the amphitheater. So and I know we're not alone there. I mean, you know everyone's hurting, and that includes sports and in restaurants and businesses alike. We understand that, but we had it. We have a scheduled board meeting this morning. We went through all of this. It was a unanimous decision. And so while we do understand that there are Maur. Important things going on in our world today and in people's lives have changed because of coded and also social unrest. This is just one of those things that we had to get out there and get on with it for the planning of 21, Don't just so I'm clear that this is not a one off plan for 2021. This is this is the plan for Summer fest moving forward is that correct? We'll see. I mean, I'm not going to sit here and tell you that You know that This is a perfect plan. And if if it works if all of the data That we considered in making this decision plays out. Well, then it will be a nine day festival going forward. I mean, you know who's to say that there isn't a show on Wednesday night prior to the opening Thursday, and who's to say this might turn into a 10 Day festival? I mean, you know, everything changed with Kobe. Everyone's life has changed their personal life, their social life. All businesses have been affected. And and and we're not on an island here, so we really believe that we have to be flexible. We have to be creative. We have to be able to pivot when when it's necessary, and that's exactly what we're doing. We lost $10.4 million in 2020. That's Before depreciation by not operating summer fest or any other shows down here or the ethnic festivals, So that's quite a mountain to climb. To try to make that money back and start replenishing our reserves again after we put $10 million of our own money into the amphitheatre, which was a $51 million project, so You know, I have, really, I really couldn't tell you what the future holds. I can tell you exactly what 21 is planned for, And if for some reason we run into a fork in the road In 21. Well, then we'll make a decision. At that time when you mentioned the ethnic festivals. Does this new schedule for summer fest proper, have any Will it have any impact on any of the ethnic festivals and they're scheduling No. The ethnic festivals would have the same dates as they would have had in 20 Got it. One of the other things in your announcement today for the nine days of summer fest. It looks like eight of the days are already booked for the amphitheater, and it looks like you've got just a a killer lineup coming there. I can give them to you if you're interested. Sure. Okay. On June 24 we have Khalid 25 is Luke Bryan 26 is Justin Bieber. July 1st Dave Matthews. The second is blank. 1 82. The third is Halsey. The eighth is Stapleton and the 10th his guns and roses. So we have one day to fill July 9th. Actually, it's filled but we can announce it. Yes, and we have some other shows sprinkled in around those dates. Already. So I think that's one of the things that people need to recognize as well and in part because of the partnership you have with with live nation now, the summer fest grounds. There's even outside the parameters of the run of summer fest that the summer fest grounds we're going to be utilized, probably more than ever in 2021 with big shows, right? Yes, sir. That was a great deal We did with the Frank Brothers, which is the live nation partner here in Wisconsin and That will provide more more shows more opportunities it required. Um, the reconstruction of the amphitheater. If we didn't do that, we wouldn't be any more shows And you know, there are some shows that we won't get there. Some shows that just play that, you know, they just want to play indoors and will will not get a shot of those. And There's plenty of venues in town for for those bands to play indoors and then and then we're going to get a shot at at bands that want to play amphitheaters. So we feel like we're in good shape. They're in and we're set up for the future, and I'm sure there's going to be some traditionalists who look at this and say, I really I really missed that Tuesday's show or I can't believe they're doing away with opening day Wednesday, but This is kind of a new reality that you're dealing with in a festival. Look, Let's just, you know, get this out of the way. I mean, we know we're not going to get all the votes and we know that there will be you know, there will be some that don't agree, but you know, we're going off a day out of I, You know, everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I love that. I think that's passion. That's like arguing who should hit second or third and play right field or second base. I mean, if they're not talking about you, I mean, then you really have a problem. So You know, everyone's entitled to their own opinion. We're just going on the facts. We know what our attendance is going back. Years. Um For Thursday, Friday Saturday and we know what kind of revenue we do on those days and we know exactly what the expenses are so for us to set this up. And get it ready for future generations and replenish our reserve funds. This is the move that we need to make. Got it done. Smiley Summer fest CEO. Thanks so much for spending some time with me this afternoon. I always appreciate it.

Here's Which Judges Are Returning For the Next Season of 'American Idol'

"So American Idol's judges table is going to remain the same for another season. Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan are all coming back. And so is Ryan Seacrest, host. This is the American Idols four season on ABC in the new season. It is expected to premier sometime next year. You know, cool. I'll just go on not watching it. I will. As usual, I will say it's It's kind of fascinating that they've not chosen to make any changes. I feel like now is the time if they were planning on doing them to do them, as in dancing with the stars making their changes, So I mean, you know, that actually says something without actually doing

"luke bryan" Discussed on The Bobby Bones Show

"Guys. Welcome to Thursday. Show amy how are you doing good? How about you? I've been better. I tell you I had the weirdest day yesterday. It's just. It is crazy to me that there is a segment of our audience that got online and threw a fit about Dr Fallacy. Coming on the show just crazy to me. You know. We're not a political show. That's not a political booking. In any way they guy is served six presidents three Republicans. Three Democrats happened to work out like that has been serving. The PUBLIC FOR FORTY YEARS HAS RECEIVED. The highest award is a doctor is a legitimate doctor and when we posted on socials you would have thought we said. Hey guess what everybody were. Pooping on all your heads. And there's nothing you can do about. It was it makes meet the only time we feel like. I'm I don't WanNa do the show anymore. That's crazy it's the I like doing this show. I love doing the show with yellow working with our listeners. I love the platform that gives me to do things with everyone for others. That's what yesterday there was a point. I was like you know I don't know if I want to do this anymore. Because if I'm ever bringing on a doctor that is not some nutty conspiracy theorists. 'cause I don't do that and people get upset about that I just. I don't know what I WANNA do anymore. It was it was. Did you look at socials at all? I didn't so I didn't I didn't get any of that But I mean I'm shocked by it like I don't understand that at all. I am not shocked by the toxicity of people just looking at headlines or tweets and thinking. They're smarter than science or doctors like that to me is the new norm but the fact that it was so that I had to go to Morgan. And be like Hey Pull the comments off of INSTAGRAM. Like shut them down. You know taken off facebook block. The political there was nothing political about that. The guy is a doctor and has shown over the last decades and decades and decades of of time that he is doing his best to help the public with HIV Zeka. A bowl name it. He's worked on it but anyway I had that moment yesterday where I was like. I don't know if this for me anymore. Like I can just go and do a podcast somewhere and be done but that that was. That was the fact that you bring on a doctor. And it's political doctor during a global pandemic. Yes yes I mean. Do they not watch the news and not see him everywhere it was? Yeah it was Long nutty might you see all that stuff I did? It was a lot of like I don't know necessary an his criticism and I'm okay with criticism but not for him so that was. That was kind of a weird moment from yesterday was like. Yeah this is the. I don't know that I wanna do this much longer because I can't. It's getting so toxic that I can't even bring on a doctor if people like will trust political politician if your kid was sick and they said okay go to your mayor or your doctor. Where do you go doctor? You don't go to your politician. You go to the person who spent their whole life studying the exact thing that happened yesterday but the battery was super good. I loved it. I told Morgan. Comments don't take the interview down. People can actually benefit from this. There wasn't anything remotely political talked about in the interview was there except that he runs around. Washington DC JOG so that happened. How's Your Day? Yesterday was good being that for you can get on socials. But I mean wasn't bad that's where I am. We got a special appearance today from Luke Bryan on the show. We did not know until late last night that he was gonna come on and do what today. So people are going to freak out about that. I don't think so unless studies infectious diseases. It's amazing that people on twitter and facebook no more about infectious diseases than all the doctors do. There are so many in. It's amazing the talking heads on the news. No more to. Here's the truth of it that we don't quite know right. Nobody quite knows anything. You don't know when which is already back to work and people may die. We don't we. Don't go back to work because it will hurt. People long-term at their life in their jobs and they're finding nobody knows and the fact that people think they should know that has no experience as as economist or a doctor blows my mind. Am I the only rational one left in the world? That's what I wonder no. I'm here and I'm with you and I could just pick aside and take that polar following and run to the finish line because what they do. But I don't do that. I try to be responsible when it goes. Hey guys you hear. Both sides screaming about their hair on fire. Usually it's not one of the sides where the hair is on fire. It's usually something in the middle and we got to sit and wait and figure it out. There was a point to if I'm talking Uber. Honestly where when? Arkansas didn't shut down I thought to myself man. I hate that Arkansas. Didn't at least say hey safer at home. You know we're GONNA WE'RE GONNA chill and tell everybody they should price state homeless gotta go somewhere and do something important but didn't say anything because I thought I don't know as much as doctors do and then Dr Foster was like you know. The Governor of Arkansas is actually doing a really great job. He didn't do that. But here's why and I thought I'm so glad I didn't throw my stupid opinion out there for no reason because I was in too but then I didn't because I'm again you know what I know how to do this. And get on stage and tell jokes and write books and you're good at that and that's what. I do really really well. And that's all in your day was good good for you. Yeah okay I mean I can make it worse if you okay. Let's get a new Luke Bryan. Oh you got me going again. You said is he going to do anything no I thought we were done with that but then I made the Luke Bryan joke but yeah so everyone should be in a good mood. Because Luke Bryan's not controversy`l Gabby Barrett's coming up this hour who I got to know an American idol season one on. Abc Mentor her. And now she's got a number one song it'll be number one end of the week and then we'll have luke on anything else today that. I should be excited over Mike. Replay elder versus melena older versus millennial. Oh can it be all political questions generations? Alright tomorrow I'm going to go crazy. I'm going to quit the show. If we don't stop with that crap.

"So one sixty here with Gabby Berry before on. You can ask the question and go ahead. What is the purpose of having headphones? If you just in talking into a mic if you take off your headphones and you could hear the same thing now you hear that I get. There's music also be music. That's accompanying our conversation. Kaye soundtracks for example. If I were to play I hope if you did have headphones on you wanna hear it because Got Their useful. Okay Yeah it's going to flatten the top of my hair but it's okay. It's really rainy is I? Think for you yes. Of course I. You should've seen me running to get in here. It wasn't my house. Yes this is the first. I've been here so we met on American idol. Yes they brought me into the top twenty four to mental twenty four and they brought me back again later on when it was you. Caleb imagine the end so you may to the top top. Three of last season admitted the final. Show yeah congratulations on that. Thank you I guess. We have spent a little time together. Because I was doing a show in Pittsburgh standup show and you and your family came to the show and this is what I'd always still going. I really couldn't even say you were there. Because it was still seek and they wouldn't even let you get up and saying because we were going to. I was so bummed about that too. Yeah I didn't come to that show and you put on a great show Pretty funny but is that what you laugh when I tell a joke. I'm so curious about what happens then. I want to work backward right like today for example today. What did you do in town today? Today I went to a head phone call meetings and I had a record label maiden care without seeing the name of the record label. Yes went to a record label and did what I sang some songs. Did so describe what that's like because your your your new artists Do you live here yet now. Are you moving here? I don't know I don't know I don't know I mean I feel like it's not a bad thing that I don't live here because if I fly down here for two weeks and then fly back to living somewhere for furry. I'll take as of right now. If you don't live here you'll never make it here. You don't link to start no if you make it big you can move out. You can go just more. Does it He lives in Arkansas. But he was. Here YEP ZAC. Brown is probably the biggest example but again he's Brown so not that you're not Gabby Barrett but you just Gabby Barrett right now my advice to you. I'm still mentoring you're ready. Yeah I know you're eighteen but you gotta move here you have to because you have to be with everybody all the time you have to be writing all the time like every day every night you have to be riding but how do you pay your bills. You go and you work at Tutsies Away. Tables does it. There's no shame have shame anymore. It's how do you want it because if you're not here they're going to be so many opportunities pass by someone's going to go. We need someone tomorrow night. And you're going to be in Pittsburgh and I'll fly down that night but I'm telling you I've already done it before you haven't done it. I have. I've taken many red is down here before not the same. I'm just telling you it's not gonNa work until you come down here and work all right and then it's GonNa take a while it's going to take a couple of years. Okay do you believe that? Yeah Yeah I do. I'm trying to get in the door early as early as I can. But because you're good there's no doubt about it. It's crazy to come to a place like Nashville where everybody's so good town in in you need to be around them all the time because I'll make you better and you'll make them better and you'll write songs all the time and you. Have you ever been to camp? Church camp regular camp or summer camp. I don't know what can people go given united. Yeah okay go in with your little group knows people and you're like Oh that's my class Mama Mama folks right high school even did you ever high school. Yeah everybody would high school was when you graduate like that your class make those in Nashville. And then there's everybody rises. They kind of pull each other up or they they help anyway. Point is you have to move. We'll see okay. Well you have to move here actually talked to Luke Bryan about it. And he said he's the one who actually said to me he said if you're coming down for two weeks and then go back for two weeks. He was like you're doing all right. And so that's what I listened to make sixty million a year. He's completely out of moved here. Luke had to move here to make it so anyway. I don't want to harp on that. Actually have quite general questions about what happened today. So tell me about today. You go and you. You're say hey come. Play something like your leather rubbing. What's that noise lender squeaking in my? It's quitting against the cord. The headphones that make the noise. So you go in you go to a record label room. Who's in that room? It's me my manager and three other people that's it yes and they say what do you. I'm sorry am I Qatar Blair. Okay and they say what do what we just started talking about. What's been going on after idol End Before and We played some of the songs that I have some of the songs. I haven't preparation to release As well as I hope in then I did. Some songs lives so they could hear sound like life. And how many songs do you play them? How did I do very awkward there? Only three people watching and judging everything that you're doing or you can just get in your own space. It's definitely a challenge for short. Because it's like when you have three bill. I felt like I was back on the executive rounds on American idol whenever the producers were in the room and you know there was only ten people. Because it's all eyes are on you and it's more concentrated smaller group than a big crowd. It's easier to do that so it is but I think it went well. So we're watching their faces as you're playing. Yeah yeah to see too long or not. And what were they giving you? They liked it. Yeah they liked it. Yeah it's like it's a little bit of everything so they were liking it. At least I hope so. And what do they say when you leave the room is it? Hey that was great like generic generic and they go and tell you really later how they feel or did they give you any sort of direction. Normally you can tell because I have met with fewer labels before and normally you can tell if a are like feeling it or not In their reaction seems pretty genuine. Like basically I'm I'm really thinking about being on board here. Oh Yeah so. What do you have to do next? I just saw them. I would continue to send them songs content stuff and if they need anything from me that I'll send it and then you went from over there to overhear. Yes pretty has pretty cool day. Get to a plan for big record people day. So tell me about. Let's go back to idle. Let's rewind a bit so you addition into where what city Anderson in Nashville Tennessee. They want to do it. Because when the producers had contacted me to audition for the show they said you could choose from three places and I was like Nashville definitely place. How do they find you to tell you to do the show they have producers that reach out Or look on the Internet for their Youtube and through hashtags on instagram. And things like that and I would always put Hashtag American idol and stuff and they reached out from seeing videos on the and the first time a producer reaches out. Are you going come on you mess with me almost? Yeah because well when you get an email like a producer wants to skype with you you're like is a spam or is it right so like you you don't want to set yourself up so you're like okay this is real and then when you see them in there like okay we'll call you back here like thrill so it was really cool. So what does the producer say to you when you get on skype? I'm Gabby high pleaser. I think they're like saying your name and Your Age. And then what are you gonNA think for us and you tell them what you're saying you're saying yeah I did? I did have to sing. And he's like. What do you do these days when I was like yes? 'cause I feeling he was going to say if he said that and that means he likes what he's hearing so do know who it was named. Peter yes so you sing in front of Peter. Peterson come to Nashville. Yeah do they buy your plane ticket or did you just get like a kind of cut passed by my plane ticket? I can't even. I can't remember that I don't know if I bet because I don't I don't deal with any sixteen seventeen seventeen so you fly down. Yeah do you cut the line at all? Since they've already seen you. I was like the first one there I remember I got to. It was at the Forgetting the name of the Christian Country Music Hall of fame. Yeah it was there and I was downstairs in the lobby at six forty five and I remember I was like the first one and then they all took US upstairs. And then one by one did the audition for you. Did you feel like you knocked out? I mean. It didn't go the way that I thought it was going to now. What did you expect you expect to walk in? And what why walked in and sang a country song because that is mainly what I love to do. as my main genre and they were kind of confused by it Because I did originally start in a gospel choir arm be was originally my roots And so they weren't very fond of the country at first and then so I actually got through with the Gospel. Go through what would you say? His is on the sparrow and then they said okay but your country artist well actually saying. Carrie underwood good girls and church bells. I think three songs. Yeah I had to saying to those songs and they were like. Do you have anything? That's not carry. And I was like I have Gretchen. Wilson redneck woman downside of that was like okay. And then we. We're only supposed to have three songs prepared. So whatever they asked me to do it was almost like on the spot on the fly from there and then they asked me to do a church song and I was like okay. That's the first one. I'm GonNa do it because that was my main song when I was in the church one nine

"I was I do this you'll see what comes around to you but I I do this motivational speech where I go and talk to places and there's a whole thing that I do where I talk about how you don't always have to be working to be moving forward you can just be listening at times you can be president in what's happening around you and I tell a story about how axl rose from guns and rose this is sitting around and listening to slash play the opening this guitarist furniture and I want to do exactly because we're on the story and he's playing guitar riff and feels like that's interesting what is that slashes I just playing a scale basically implying the scale and and this is not a song I'm just warming got because we're about to go into the studio and so act like well that's that's interesting is that I wrote this poem for my girlfriend keep playing that and so- slashes the plan the song an actual reading this poem and it's like this is it this this is the song like I'm just he was just sitting in the room and it was sweet child of mine that's how that's how the song get started that's great so slashes sitting here just playing this on his guitar and then inside of the bridge of the song he doesn't know where to go with the song he doesn't have it written because back then they were just GonNa Studio and get totally wasted in and record so if you remember the bridge the song he starts going where do we go now where do we go so he's leaving he literally didn't know where to go with the songs crazy it's awesome and so how how I bring this up start with you is you know that's an interesting way to kind of get into a song ever sit in a room at seventy sticking around with something and you go well I really wasn't planning to go here but I have something that could work I have This page after page after page after page of titles and ideas yeah That I have always kept I started keeping it in college and so typically when I walk into a room comedy starts doing that I don't say anything I just kind of opened my file and starts I call him a book of spells because we call it that once in a in in a group setting she's like oh he just goes through his book of spells so I actually titled on on my desktop my little books spells or click on that started kind of going through stuff almost you know most of it just doesn't work for every piece of music obviously you just can sit you kind of go through you can go through and go through and say finally go let me that and I start throwing things into the room that there's that point at the beginning of every writing appointment where as far as lyrical ideas you're either going to be the absolute hero you're gonNA look like a Moron I've kind of always prided myself on being fearless when it comes to throwing ideas in the room and just kind of going well I took all that time to come up with them let's see if they're any good there's only one way to find out can you us song where you're going through the book of spells and you're like this might actually be something with what you're doing now you mean with Mute where the music was already going you're flipping through and you you go well I could actually attach this we could go somewhere with it and it turned out to be something you know aw man sorry like running through songs in brain yeah run through typically Some it detracts and things most of the time I come in with like pieces of music fully at least something somewhat realized or at least enough of a concept the trying to match it to somebody that's something already going isn't perfect so even then a lot of times the musical change ever so slightly it's not usually an exact match I don't have a slash story do you ever wish I did because what I find when you get into a room you say you go in us if I'm writing something comedy wise and someone comes in you don't know people it's your little timid at first and not so much because is of your ideas but because you don't everyone's sensibilities writer first date oh you dance yeah you're kind of all right we'll and I've found that when someone comes in and they're totally fearless it actually relaxes the whole room right like it's actually a nice start to the whole because you're like Oh okay if they're going to be an idiot and idiot and maybe isn't the word but it was the best yeah and I feel at times if I do that it actually makes the room a more productive room if I just go out and do the most bonehead things sometimes on purpose uh-huh it makes the room better because everybody goes oh why was an idiot I won't be near as big a minute let me start suggesting my ideas and that's actually the whole point of of the reason I do it don't often assume that the ideas that I'm gonNA start throwing out our what we're going to work on and I don't really care part of it is just getting any kind momentum going and in getting the comfort zone opened up because once somebody starts talking starts saying hey what about this what about this what about this everybody else feels a little more open to going through their own stuff especially if you've never worked together that first time where it's like we're saying it's a dance and kind of your everybody's trying to figure out their role where they fit in what they're supposed to be doing I just I I love the visit and I love the hang and all that comes beforehand it's great to catch up and all that but at some point something's got to happen and there's no reason for us all to be hanging out so that's my way of being like all right let's get some work done come on a resume you just a little bit and we'll go into some stories here but fourteen number ones just a few of them Luke Bryan most people are good I bring that up because I was a three week number one a rarity almost a Dodo bird of country music songs those days yeah I would say the white tiger now dodo birds extinct maybe the white tiger of country music three week number one yeah they're getting more and more it seems like I was asked on the red carpet last week at cmt they said hey what what was your song of two thousand nineteen and not that I would listen to it the time alone but like I said well my song I think that was the most important to the format and that people have really gravitated to because of the message was those people are good and that's what came to my mind that was my visceral emotional reaction to what was this song of two thousand nineteen that's awesome so congratulations one on three week number one also a lot of people went and it's nice to just like like have that song I needed that Song I did most of the time when when you meet people socially and they ask you they find that your rent is so what are you right you know obviously they mean rock pop country whatever and I smile on say I write fiction 'cause that's kind of what I do I sit around and just generally make up stories and things in that particular case that was written in two thousand sixteen during the presidential election or the build up to the election between that in some of the other things we're also going on in the world at the time I was really kinda depressed I mean just watching some things and kind of went you know what it's not all bad it's really not all bad and I I showed up my studio that day I was writing with Ed Hill and David Frazier who I've written it's close to twenty years and luckily at we again we know each other so well that I kind of know where they are in their lives as well and it just it was the right right idea for the right group of people and I desperately needed that song I still find that when sit around play that song when performing it's it's still takes me back to that place that I desperately need to be these days talk me through the life of after you wrote the song because we know the end product we've seen the manufacturing of a three week number one it's been through we've seen it then great but ride it and that's a it's been a couple of years now a few years now actually yeah so what happens right after you write the song do you feel like it could be something and where does go and it just kind of talk me through that so we we wrote the song I was the only one I just sat and play guitar while you're writing I was the only one plane during the writing and then when the other guys left I stayed right there in my studio and built up the record from scratch and it sounds almost identical you ended up hearing on the Luke record did they use any of the now of your track now they didn't use much wreck I think they even might change the key and they cut with a live band and was playing individual bits and pieces and Jeff didn't need my tracks a pretty obviously and finished it up I think got I spent the rest of that day part of the next day finishing up the demo turned into the publisher that is usually for me where my contact with the song essentially ends you spent a lot of time with it did you feel you because you spent almost two days did you feel like it was a two day worthy song or is that just normal process for anything that you've written if I'm the one doing the demo it takes me wrong I'm just not fast I'm I'm a slow build when it comes to to building out a demo and even beyond that typically I'm not great at them it's not really my forte I'll do them is when I'm the one that ends up being the person in the room that has that skill set but I prefer having a Jesse Frazier I've been writing one hundred hundred twenty songs year professionally for the last twenty five years

I was amazed at how comfortable she was like in the chair, you know, she really twenty four year old can't four years old. And she's ready. She says she's ready for marriage. I got married at twenty eight was I ready probably not. As you're listening. We also we played the game. Who'd you rather? We're gonna play a game it's called who'd you rather? And we're going to show you two images of men and you'll say who'd you rather? And then we'll finally find the person you would rather do it with than anybody else. Okay. All right. Let's see the first two. Oh, that's a tough one. Oh, okay. "Mean, no comedian is safe. Those women also weren't asked to host the Oscar exact Glaring glaring team. team. They were asked that people would have dug through their social media one of the themes of this year than the metoo movement. It's been how quick are to tear the people down we look at their past. We judge them. We don't let them learn from their steaks, and we don't forgive them. If if I knew anything about the gay community and everyone at this table has close friends that are gay there about the most forgiving people in this world. And so I think we've got to get over this being so quick to judge people finding failure on every single person's part and just moving on and better being each other. And I just say take the side of these girls where second from what I know of their work. They are pro gate comedians. They are not people that Kevin Hart thing was very nasty. I thought what is the dog's head and hit him on the head that I didn't like that at all upset me. But these girls, they don't call them girls girls, went meant, no kidding kidding. These girls are comedians, and they are they love the gay community gay community loves them their cons of the gay community. But they still so these hunt is that is that. About what we were saying in the meeting, and I wish they had given us more time to talk about this because this is actually one of the nucleus where you, and I have a lot of synergy free speech is I think one of the tenants of being an American I think it's extremely important that doesn't mean that you can throw out slurs at people and not have ramifications in your work in one way or the other. But I don't wanna live in a culture in a society where I think comedians and pundits in particular. Push boundaries for reason. I don't agree with anything Bill Maher's. Hardly ever. I watch his show almost every week is pushing boundaries. And I'm always going to be interested in people who are going to say that things that people other people are scared to say, and that doesn't mean it's okay to have any kind of violence or hate speech or anything under that terminology. But according to the federalist which all candidates my husband runs. There's now the people who couldn't will host the Oscars now include Tiffany haddish, Donald Glover, Sarah Silverman. "Luke bryan james could dan gilbert bad lebron james what are the greatest players ever dan gilbert one of the worst donors and sports i get that you want to put the blame on wanna talk dan gilbert that influence its cetera set of what i am saying though that's my point about isaiah needs time this group has not had time to come together as a fully formed group with fully functional pieces yet and i don't think this group is giving themselves that time is giving themselves that time and look will have to agree to fix that yeah yeah he does have to fix that which is problematic when he can't commit to stay in and what have you and everybody's wondered about what his future's going to be a whether or not they should listen to it but when you talk about them getting in their own way i appreciate that point bless understand why this is not a situation where they're just not on a court of vibe inc where you don't this miscommunication and things of that nature the is lethargic is lackadaisical behavior there is a lack of urgency this is the constant and i'm now wishing this i am a fan of tyron lou the man of the coach of a team that came back from a three one deficit to point out to win and every egyptian just like the broad dave ended at fifty two year drought dated ended under david black which by the way was dan gilbert's choice griffin's choice was tyron lou which is why were tyronn lue with the lead assistant in a highly paid lead a system tyrone liu was the coach of the cleveland cavaliers i got matv respect for tyron lou and i'm scared for him because i don't want this to happen to him if this team continues to look.

"The podcast and you'll hear luke bryan singing in and out of all of our uh connective tissue there lucas said quote they uh the sites get prepped weeks in advance when we roll lynn were doing three shows a week on thursday friday and saturday we go in you'll the infrastructure in one day a lot of work for it was having we truly enjoy is talking about going i too a number of farms these during his annual farm poor this week i think this weekend victory not mistaken adipocytes the actual farmers all midwestern farms had been going on since two thousand nine the mostly in the midwest than this southeast he said we spread it out through the years started out in the southeast this year were go into the midwest what makes a farm an ideal setting for the tour the main thing we look for is the accessibility for the fans how easy it is for them to get in and out we also ask if it rains are we going to have three thousand vehicles stuck and the much much like they learn from woodstock that's would add hair and bonner rail in tennessee i like that every year so good for him helping farmers we like that all into that 28 after the hour these days hi i wore an expert with the picture tip typically the day today it's going to the bird yesterday it you know what am i families biggest plays his during the cold grey days winter is watching our fedatrans congregate in our bird feeders watching spyros dobbs cardinals not hack his and all the other berth comey's really in may as ink and you know with martin technology tv bed you can actually put a microphone by the bird feeder you can actually put a microphone into their feeder and hear them as they enjoy dinner but here's the problem most people don't understand that different species of birds need different types of food and sometimes sees not enough so he's my recommendation around the country now there are bird feeding specialty stores all over the place it's not just going to the supermarket and picking up his seat anymore and this is the most important point if you going to start beating the bird in the colder weather make sure you continue feeding the birds to the weather warms up because very often you prevent them from moving on when they know these a food selecting the area so if you.
