"I have a more difficult time talking. And articulating my thoughts when it's not just on the fly back if I'm trying to go back, and edit it in for whatever reason, I feel like I just can't think clearly right? I need that pressure of it's live. Dammit, you need to do it. Now, you're not going to be able to do it so fair ago, and Luke BAC or two locations. I've just started playing with them. So I'm sure there's more to them than what I've talked about here. But I think in the future. I'm gonna be able to use them for the podcast, right? Okay. Adam what's your next pick? You don't have a lot of apps that are sort of that are sort of cross platform. So you know, I. And I wanted to bring up one that I used for just doing my research still big into our s and I guess some people are saying like this is going away. I don't know. So like, I need to aggregate content. Like, I go through hundreds of MAC articles for the prep for my show every week. And so there's no way I could do that by going to individual websites or I'd even tried using. What's the reader thing that apple has built in to to far enough? I'm gonna blink on the name of it. Isn't it just called reading reading list? I think a ring list, and you. You know, it's sort of like tries to be a little aggregated, but I really need a dedicated app for it. And so I've been a fan and user of reader R E R, which is just reading up, and and I have it hooked in to feed been is it feed been you can basically tie it in two different services that will sink. So none of us to be able to use Google Google had a service for like sinking your RSS, your RSS feeds. But now. That went away, and I had to use something else when called feed Ben. And I don't know why it's not showing me feed -ly. That's the one that using oh why that's been around for a long time. So feed bins another one. But basically all that does is let you sort of sink, your podcast that you're you're RSS feeds that if I'm reviewing articles in reader on my MAC, and I've already seen one or flagged one for, you know, hey, I want to include or talk about this one in the show or something I it syncs between my ipad, and my MAC, and I'm doing a lot of work between my ipad, my MAC. So I have a whole host of apps like that so readers one of those east from RS feeds another one that's in really valuable to me is Omni outlander, which is how I do my show notes from from Omni group. And again, they have a sinking service. So there's a lot of apps that I use it a really important that hey, I need to be able to work on my ipad work on my MAC. It doesn't really matter where I'm at. I just want to be able to pick up what I have next to me and be able to use an app and have a similar similar experience. So I'm one of those people that sort is transitioning more and more to using my ipad, and again, bring back controversy using my pad more and more as a replacement for my back book. I mean, my MAC book pro more and more sitting left sitting on my desk almost like a desktop, and I'm using my ipad pro to do things like show notes. And so a lot of the apps that I used for the podcast or things like reader the reader on the outline or. I also use Ulysses which I mentioned earlier, which is just it's a markdown application. Again, part of set up. So I use that for for notes on occasion too. And so you're I had pro hasn't totally replaced your map. But pro yet I would say it's probably eighty twenty yet. There's a few. There's ample things I'm I'm a web developer. And programmer, I mentioned so some of that stuff's kind of really hard to do in less. You're doing it totally in the cloud on the ipad. There are apps that will let me edit code. And I have you know. FTP clients and stuff like that. But it it's a workflow that I haven't put together, and it would take some time to put together..

"So you would typically take that mix it in with your say microphone call that a virtual interface, and that's the thing that you. Select as your input right for Skype. And then those two bits of audio are mixed together. So anything that you're gonna play in safari browser. That audio is gonna come through just as you were, you know. Holding. I guess you're here speaker up to your Mike, but you're gonna get good quality audio rates and digital audio. It's really I mean, it's pretty much that simple would again like you said it sounds like it should be simple to do on your computer. But it's actually really complicated unless you have an app like like. Keep wanting to call in because that's the used to have this app called line in did something similar was that rogue amoeba as well. Yeah, they still they do. It's like a simpler version of what Luke back does. So. Okay. Well, along long side loop back. The also have a really great soundboard app called farrago fair ago or farrago. I like seeing for AGA. It sounds more. Exotic. And this is the most polished easy to use outboard up Ivor ever used on a MAC us. Another one called soundboard by embryo, just off wear Ambrosia. I don't know. I don't know what happened to the app. They just completely abandoned it. Kind of shutdown bought out. I don't I don't think they exist anymore. They're not making anything anymore. They went out of business. Explain their website. Okay. I'm on their website right now. And it looks like it was designed same time. The first apple store online is somebody bought out some of the some of the IP and stuff like that. But that was a great company back. They had great great games burning. Monkey solitaire was one of my favorite sound. Sounds like a very exciting title. Okay. Well, that explains why haven't seen anything from them in quite a while. I didn't really check into it. Anyway. So I was looking for a new soundboard to try to work into the podcast have all these ideas and ways that we could utilize and then that's when I ran across fair ago and paired with Luke BAC, oh my gosh. What a powerful combo you have. And again, I'm only scratching the surface of what fair go can do if you head over to rogue amoeba website and have always examples, and you can see how beautiful the U is. But I think one of the Marquis features of this application just like loop back is just how easy it is to us. He puts so much thought and effort into polishing off the corners making their experiences, beautiful and intuitive to you. So hopefully in the future all be able to start working in sound bites into the show. I really want to have a a Austin powers. Yeah. Baby. Because those crack Leander up and then other than that, maybe working in sound bites from listeners, it'd be. Cool to have. I think you do this don't you have listener audio on the show. So that you can play their audio. And then and then talk about what they said. Yeah. I don't do that lie. I don't do a live mix in. But I mean, if if I did this would be that'd be kind of application to to us, right? Where you could just trigger that. Exactly. Oh, yeah. I guess you can just edit it in. But I mean, a lot of people that like to record live live hard drive is what I think people call it. Right. So I actually prefer that too. I find that..

"Or six bucks a month for their one individual offering. I'm not paying I wanted to watch the Star Trek series. I think it's NBC. Yes. CBS CBS CBS, and I'm not paying you. Ten bucks a month just to watch Star Trek? I'm sorry. If you if you batch that in with other shows or other networks, I should say. Then maybe I would then it's worth it to me. I don't mind net. Flicks. What I don't wanna do a CBS model, and that was exactly the idea behind setup was they I mean, they literally I think called it at some point like Netflix for your applications, right? Is just like, hey, one price, and you get access to all of these great apps, and yeah, you're not gonna use them. All you're not going to watch them all. But if there is even a handful of ones that you find entertaining have value to you it essentially pays for itself. Well, it's like a Dobie creative cloud. Right. You just you'll meet only use one or two of the apps, but you know, that you have all those other apps there, and it kind of gives you that warm fuzzy feeling that if you do need to use those than you can pop in there and install them, and you don't have to pay anything for them. Craig you're paying for them. I guess already paying for them front, but that's a great pick. That's a great pick. Okay. Let me move onto my next one. This is just going to stick with backups for now. There's a couple of them. This is going to be like. The rogue amoeba our here, I'm looking at my list here. And I'm like actually a lot of these are from fact, Paul maybe the majority outfall rain. So these are two that I just started playing around with not long ago. The first one is called loop back. Have you ever heard of it? Okay. So they marketed as cable free audio routing for the MAC, and it probably is the technology. That's built into audio hijack pro just in its own appear would be my guess, but it makes it easy to pass audio between applications and unlike something like sound flower, which I've tried. It's a disaster. Isn't it? It's it's like trying to use dos to route your audio from thing to thing. Gotta like type all this weird text. And anyway, this is beautiful like everything rogue Amiga rogue amoeba makes it's beautiful. It's easy to use. And what I was interested in using it for and I think it's gonna work. Great for this is for routing audio into our podcast haven't started doing this because I've been playing around with it. So it allows you to create virtual devices, and then you can use those virtual devices as output sources, for example. I could connect a sound board with my microphones down and then pipe that into the podcast, which believe it or not if you've never podcast before that is not an easy thing. Normally, you need like a piece of hardware, and then you have to route things back and forth between your computer, and that piece of hardware and Luke BAC makes it dead simple to create virtual devices. I'm only scratching the surface here of what it can actually do. Do. You have any other examples. Do you have any experience using loop back out? Yeah. I do. I don't I don't have to use it that frequently. But it's exactly the kind of thing that you're talking about so say, you have a soundboard application or maybe you have some QuickTime audio or maybe you want a YouTube video, right? And you wanna play that through into your podcast recording live. So that like everybody can hear it everybody on the call. If you're doing a Skype or dischord or something like that you can basically define that application as like an audio input, and you can mix it in with other inputs..

"These signature outworked station, which is eighty five hundred. Dollars. That sounds a little bit more reasonable for what this is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You look at it is the exact same thing. I mean, this thing's got hydraulics, and it's it's just an insane desk. Right. So I'm like, there's no way that this thing is one hundred ninety nine dollars, which makes me think that if you send them one hundred ninety nine dollars one hundred ninety nine dollars to see what you get is off to the Ukraine, and you're never gonna see again. Yes. The upper laptop mount just for this chair costs more than the chair itself. From the instance camp exactly find offering. No, that's that's the great part about it. These guys just made a website and insta- or. Yeah. Cut instagram. Can't even think today. There's too many instance, we got instant pot. We got it. Yeah. So Instagram just let this ad through without doing any due diligence. And yet these people are getting just probably fleeced on this stuff. And if you go to the main site on fine offering in go to the hot sale, they're up to fifty four. Now who well. Yeah. So I'm sure these things are just just full-on scams. Although the wheel skates looked pretty crazy. You see these? I think you need to earn order the hurricane for wizard pet for and lint remover for your dogs to see what you actually get. There's another one here called finger Powell, which I mean, I know we talked about porn for and I'm not allowed to talk about it. But just the name alone finger pow. In the auto squeezing, toothpaste dispenser because squeezing your own toothpaste is just too damn hard. It sixty dollars. That one probably that one probably is a real thing and it retails for fourteen ninety nine, but they're they're just getting people with that desk for, you know, just insane amounts of money. So that would be my instant scam of the week now onto some real things that happen loop back to is out. If you're an audio guy, Luke back was one of those things that you just have to have in your tool kit and loop back to is out in it says audio routing simplified, and it's pretty pretty fantastic. You get a list of all your sources, and you can drag and drop inputs to other outputs and inputs, and you know, get all crazy with it. But opened up my settings that I had for Luke BAC one. When I first insult loop BAC to it. Unfortunately, for some reason all of the there's a there's a disclosure triangle that says advanced and under advances little check box that says mute source while recording. And I'm thinking. Why would we want to? Why would you wanna do that? And have it checked by default? Yeah. That was kind of a say what moment. But fortunately because I'm sitting there trying to do show yesterday with Jordan harbinger in. I'm like, oh, this isn't working, and I'm like, I see levels coming through. But I can't hear you. And he's like, oh, I know it this is because I went through this hell yesterday. So he went through he went through and figured it out. So I didn't have to and now you don't have to thanks to Jordan. But on a bunch of the sources if you're coming in with Luke BAC one presets Shang, though sources and just go to options, and it says win capturing that's it not when recording but mutant capturing got into. But it's really cool. It's it's if you already own loop back it is well worth the fifty dollar update. And if you don't own loop back in Europe podcast or do any kind of audio routing? This thing is baller. It is. So great. It is just you just things you can't do without it. Now this next one is a video game it which makes me kind of happy. I I used to you know, live mortal combat. Friend of the show AmEx emission, exactly friend of the show v introduced me to mortal Kombat one and then a week later, mortal Kombat to came out, and I can't tell you how many years of my life was spent playing mortal Kombat to to the.

"Right final break into the home stretch jason corey asked that you spoken about using a bunch full poltical punk cahan i o s but it seems that it's still impossible putt cuss using iowa's only are you still using farai and do you have any tips portable punched i'm still using fair i i love fair i it is the best deal it is the best value in audio editing especially pike casting that exists i actually had a friend say all right i'm getting frustrated with daddy or garage band i've had a few people say this what do you think about where i go from here and it's like wow there's logic which costs a lot of money in addition costs a lot of money and i said well do you have a recent ipad and do you like your ipad because you could get for twenty bucks and it does at all it's a great deal you've got to have a relatively recent i paddle though it's it work phone too so i love it i think it's fantastic piece of software i would love to have it on the mac because i it does everything i needed to do whereas logic does everything needed to do and like ten thousand other things that i don't need it to do that sometimes i pressed the wrong key and it does that and don't know what to do because i don't know what mode i'm in now and it's really weird so i love it impossible to podcast using only it's not impossible but it's hard that's the problem because apple has not put us sound stuff we talk about audio hijack and luke bac bring features to the mac that probably should have ios has got nothing you can't rogue amoeba can't write an app to bridge the gap on irs because apps aren't allowed access to the audio stuff and so until that changes which maybe i don't know if it'll ever happen at this point i'm kinda beaten down about whether they're ever gonna ask add more sound access to apps in ios but until then you gotta jump through hoops so there are a bunch of different ways to do it like the most common way to do podcasting ios is and you risk if everybody's on iowa's you really risk not having a backup but if you've got some people on the mac and some people on ios or macro pc you can have somebody record the whole call that's your backup that's your emergency backup and like if you're on ios well you just need to record your microphone using a device it could use.
