It's a risky strategy that is going to take a long time to pay off their essentially trying to get the 18 to 49 male American audience that has a lot of disposable income. And so this is more of a also you see FTX for 5 years and then you're ready to make the leap in a crypto. It also gets corporate America in a lot of major ways too, you know, the businesses, business people, you know, a lot of people at sweets and games and all that sort of stuff. I think I actually like these sponsorships. And I just personally, I used to work at a company Lucas oil that when they sponsored Lucas oil stadium, the NFL deal, it was a big leap for them as their company size, but it had a dramatic impact in their growth and what they were able to do from that sponsorship. People could just keep bringing up B and B, yeah, it did have a fantastic pump if we look at it. I do have a little have a nice story about it. And day three of the combine, as you can tell, my brain is already starting to go to mush here a little bit, but we're in day three of the NFL combine. Big weekend ahead for the Patriots with defense taking over Lucas oil stadium over the next two days. One of the deepest defensive line and linebacker groups that I can remember in quite some time, it's a good time for that to be the case. Obviously, given the Patriots needs and those two areas, a lot of scouts, a lot of buzz about how great of a group this is both off ball linebackers, edge defenders, edge rushers, and interior defensive linemen as well, deep, deep, deep, all three days can define players that can contribute, but we're going to start with the news of the day from Greg bedard first and then followed up by the athletic Jeff Howe and company saying that the Patriots have had exploratory talks with the Carolina Panthers in regards to wide receiver Robbie Anderson. I would categorize categorize these talks, Alex, as extremely exploratory. Right now, what a lot of teams are doing. Patriots included is they're trying to get a gauge of the market, right? Robbie Anderson for is Robbie Anderson available via trade as Carolina willing to talk trade. It does sound like they are willing to do so. I'm sure that they will also probably call Atlanta and talk about Calvin Ridley so that they can get an idea of, okay, we can get Calvin Ridley for a second, or we could get Robbie Anderson for a fourth, which trade do we feel is better value. So I wouldn't get too caught up in the name Robbie Anderson. I think the bigger story here for the Patriots is that they are clearly shopping and doing their homework on available wide receiver talent. And we can also talk about the domino effect at this could potentially have on somebody like Nelson Aguilar, but I think it would be the odd man out if this situation were to occur. But first, let's start with Anderson and start with the fact that the Patriots are at least interested for the second time now because I did initially call him in 2020 when he was an unrestricted free agent going from the jets to the Panthers. The Patriots had some interest, at least, never got real serious, but they had some interest in Robbie Anderson at the time, then as well. That's way premature, but just on paper looking at it, it's hard to get super enthusiastic about a broad based competitive season and that is, that's an issue. And if you do have a 12 team playoffs, people aren't just looking, gosh, can we get in the top four? Can we get in the top 12? Can we win our conference when we've got a chance, you know? So it would absolutely be for the best of the game nationally to have a bigger playoff with more interest, more people and better to recruit too for those schools. If you're USC and Oregon and Washington, whoever out west, you can say, hey, come be on a playoff team, because we're going to go. And if you don't have that to sell, I think that's one more reason for everybody to look and say, all the best players to say, I'm going to the SEC. Finally, pat, I know the NCAA convention continues next week in terms of trying to restructure that organization and IL is after I saw where Jim, Jim Phillips is more concerned about Austin and all these things as opposed to the playoff. But as you look ahead, what do you think are going to be the biggest issues or the biggest issue for the next 6 months before we get to the next college football season? Well, Jim is absolutely right that there are a lot of issues and they are burning. Now, does that make for a great find bomb shogun getting the wonky weeds of NIL and also all that stuff? Not necessarily. But I mean, that stuff is real and I do think they let the NIL and the immediate transfer horses out of the barn and now they're like, oh gosh, can we get them back? And no, the horses are galloping about the pasture. It's going to be tough to bring that back. But they've got to get their arms around that. And that's going to be a huge topic of conversation next week in Indianapolis. I don't really know what the answers are. And unfortunately, I don't think they know what the answers are. I mean, the lack of leadership is deafening. I will say this Paul, the championship game was in Indianapolis. Did anybody see or hear a PEEP from Mark emmert? Right there, right downtown. No. He was completely absent. And I know they don't run football, but I thought that was symbolically important as well as the NCAA continues to recede in terms of relevance. Yeah, and for those who don't understand the geography of downtown Indianapolis. I mean, he could walk to the game without really getting that cold. Easily, absolutely. The NCAA headquarters are across the street from us, Marriott compound, which is connected by tunnels to Lucas oil stadium. Well, I didn't see him and it made my visit Indianapolis that much better. NCAA Men's 2021 March Madness Will Take Place In A Bubble In Indiana
"This spring sixty eight. Men's basketball teams from colleges and universities across the country will gather at indianapolis for march madness that includes athletes coaches and staff along families and press. The organizers goal is to create a bubble similar to what the nba did over the summer. Indianapolis was already set to host the final four this year which nc double a senior vice president of basketball. Dan gavitt says made it a logical choice. We knew when we made the decision to come to one geographic location. Having as many of those venues in the city of indianapolis in marion county in particular was important for the health costs to be very similar.
