I was told by thirty minutes ago that i had like fifteen minutes that all of us kind of had to clear out but hopefully they don't kick me out so you are hidden away in a corner of this football stadium that housed this absurd tournament. And look you've been to. I think ten of these championships before this one. You're not impressed very easily. How would you describe what you saw out on that court tonight. I just think from the start to the finish. It was just a very dominant performance in to me. The only thing. I can think of being boxing fan i am. It's sort of like watching mike. Tyson lose the buster douglas. Now baylor is in buster douglas. But just the sight of someone that he thought was maybe invincible. Losing because gonzaga never had a chance. "A lot of those other pieces are trying to find their way and find consistency, you're basically taking out half of the offense that you've been using to win the three games that you have. So that's where they're going to feel it. I think, unfortunately for them, they still have an elite offensive player in Cairo, Irving to build your offense around. You're gonna get extended now opportunities out of Paris lover he showed last year. He's capable of doing that. But right now, the overall bigger picture with this team is that their defense just hasn't really been something they've worked on. You could tell they haven't touched on it very much. There's a lot that Steve Nash probably wants to implement. But right now their offense is light years ahead of their defense, and that's why they've had a hard time getting some of these winds. They've lost close games because they cannot get stops down the stretch when they need to. That has got to be the biggest area of improvement because you're just not going to have two guys. Go out every night and, you know, rotate turns taking shots and expect to fulfill your dreams of winning a championship. That defense has to tighten up And maybe this is a great opportunity to do that missing. Kevin Durant's 28 points a night that started hot this season, but they Have dropped under 500. They're currently three and four after seven games, SportsCenter all night, ESPN radio time for straight talk brought to you by straight talk Wireless. Speaking of the impacts we've seen from the pandemic on the college level number three, Villanova It's the pause button again. Three games are now postpone the Wildcats postponing all basketball activities because of issues with covert within the program games. Among those called off against DePaul on Tuesday, their home game against Marquette on Friday and their game at Xavier on January 13th. NC double A, however, is looking ahead there looking towards the spring. March to be specific, and they're looking to hold the entire tournament in Indiana. All 67 games will take place in the state as the NC Double eight takes a quasi bubble approach to the event. Games will be held in sites including Lucas Oil Stadium and the Pacers. Bankers Life Fieldhouse among other Indianapolis AH city that's somewhat laid out to host an event like this earlier on ESPN Radio Hour, Myron Medcalf It's a walkable city means one of those places where literally everything is right there between Lucas Oil Stadium where some of the games will be and bankers Life Fieldhouse and all these things are Near each other something that was a big part of it. The convention center downtown is gonna be used as a practice facility, and they've got skyways connecting the hotels. Do the convention says something that's a big part of it is working. You put people in sort of a central location have a place where there enough hotels for everybody. I mean out of one conference call today where One of the organizers said they need 2500 rooms to make this work. I mean, so they're gonna run out entire hotels during that stretch because they're gonna put each team on their own floor. You got a social distancing, So this is going to be a logistical challenge for sure. But Indianapolis is one of those places where you could get everywhere pretty easily and and that's gonna make it. You know, it seems like that's probably the best thing they're looking for. But beyond that, there's still a lot of question marks. I'm gonna assume no fans of the only fans would be families that would be in attendance. Yes, So right now, the families of coaches of student athletes will be allowed to 10 games. No word on how many fans and kind of what that will look like. The bigger question about whether it actually gonna fill these buildings That hasn't been decided yet. I mean, they don't have the answer to that. My guess would be anything that adds to the challenge is attached to a 60 18 tournament. You're in a pandemic. They won't do you know so many things have been undecided. They don't know if they're gonna have replacement team's in that. You know what happens if the team test positive during the term. If you eliminate that team, do you push the game back, so they're still trying to figure out a lot of those details, But I would say family and friends. Host family, They'll be there, everybody else it feels like that's highly unlikely. See how things play out over the course of the coming months, course is only January. We're talking about mid March. At this point. There's a lot that can change in the midst of a pandemic. On the court Monday, number 19, West Virginia at Oklahoma State shot clock down to nine. "This spring sixty eight. Men's basketball teams from colleges and universities across the country will gather at indianapolis for march madness that includes athletes coaches and staff along families and press. The organizers goal is to create a bubble similar to what the nba did over the summer. Indianapolis was already set to host the final four this year which nc double a senior vice president of basketball. Dan gavitt says made it a logical choice. We knew when we made the decision to come to one geographic location. Having as many of those venues in the city of indianapolis in marion county in particular was important for the health costs to be very similar. Gavitt says the city's long history of hosting sporting events should help the. Ncaa is headquartered here in the city. And there's enough venues. Hotels and transportation teams will stay in the four downtown hotels all connected to lucas oil stadium. One of the six sites to be used for games but the move will likely be a financial blow to cities that were set to host some of the games this year including lexington dallas dayton and san jose. The decision is welcome news for the indiana lodging association. It's president patrick. Tam says last year it's all twenty percent of restaurants permanently close and two thirds of the hotels facing bankruptcy. Now news is is indicative of the best news for hotels since march. So before we get to this, this conversation that I had with the person who works for the National Institute of Health and Look, I learned so much about what governments are doing wrong. The few things they're doing, right? And really what? This person who studies Cove it every single day thinks we should be doing. What did you talk about Yesterday's game at Lucas Oil Stadium. And if you're holds fan Azaz I know many of you are tough day cold spell of 45 26 to the Tennessee Titans and knocked him out of first place in the NFC South. A lot of bad things on the on the fourth of the forefront of playing football. But I wanted to talk about what I saw, not the play on the field. But what was in the stands? And the answer to that is what I saw was not much again a very limited capacity about 1/5. I guess if you were to round up of what could have been there was at Lucas Oil Stadium yesterday. And Abdul, who's filling in on Friday and I got into this on Friday. That Time and again, we see the government and government entities and government related properties continue to turn just fine under Covad. While regular people continue to suffer and what I mean by that is that Lucas Oil Stadium Is a taxpayer funded entity. It betters the bottom line for Jimmer, say, the very rich owner of the Indianapolis Colts, and by the way, God bless him for being a very rich, owner of the Indianapolis Colts have nothing against people being very rich. What I do have a problem with is when very poor people are forced by the government to pay for very rich people stuff. And that's what happens with Lucas Oil Stadium. Jimmer saves the primary beneficiary. His team The Indianapolis Colds are the primary beneficiary of Lucas Oil Stadium. And we as taxpayers pay for it. Time and time and time again. It's a multi billion dollar investment when all said and done. And Jim are saying the Indianapolis Colts And for those of us who objected for that for years that very poor people are forced to pay for very rich people stuff we were told. Shut up and pay you people are stupid or objecting. You don't understand Lucas Oil's a great investment because 8 to 10 times a year 60,000 Plus people gonna get Lucas Oil Stadium and they're gonna be spending money.

I'm John Herrick. I'm joined by Matt Surface. The third member of our broadcast team. Ryan Marine will join us in just a little bit, Matt very special. Day here, South Adam's Covenant Christian There are 12 teams in the state football finals that entered this weekend. But only two of them are here for the first time ever, And it's these two undefeated teams. What you're both of them has had. Wow, no question about it. Grant motions done a great job with the South Adam's building that program up and they really got a fantastic quarterback the last couple years that's helped them really accelerate the trajectory. Of South Adams. James Arnold has been fantastic for them, and we'll get to see an exciting time today as he'll be dodging pass rushers left and right against this covenant Christian team who Sean Lyons in his first year is the head coach. Uh, come in a Christian is not lost the game and much improved ball club. This is and they've got a couple of big wins on the season. I think about heritage Christian and Lutheran, Tonto to name the two and they both. Come a long way in in their performance over the last few years, and it's great to see a culminate here at Lucas Oil, and this is just the seventh year that company Christian has actually played football. They play the one game season in 2014. What a journey. It's been for them to get here. They lead the state and margin of victory at 43 points. They are number two in the entire state and points scored at 53 points a game. And they are also on Lee, allowing 10 points a game. Plus, you look at South Adams. They are second in the state of margin of victory at 39 points a game fifth in points allowed. They only give up nine and they score. 48 points a game. It almost looks like in a lot of ways, Matt these are two teams that mirror each other. Yeah, no question in terms of margin of victory. That's absolutely the case. But A little bit different on field strategy. Okay, you've got South Adams. That's really going to spread it out and distribute the football to multiple guys. John. They got four guys with over 500 yards receiving, and James Arnold who I mentioned a little bit earlier. He has He has almost 3500 yards passing with 44 touchdowns, toe only seven interceptions on the Flipside Covenant Christian. Why this is going to be to me. Such a great matchup is because Their strength is rushing the passer. They have two guys on that defensive line in trade flattened Alex Coleman that both.

"Man that was such a fun. Ending to a game. I was at the game until halftime. I was with my young son. We left at halftime, the culture getting their butts beat. We're playing very well. Hey, wanted to leave like of Hammer was here right now and that you have dual. He'd be busting my balls right now, and I understand it, but it's not like I was with my buddies. I was with my eight year old son and we had to get him back home in time for Want. He's only had two days of school left for Thanksgiving break. Who knows if he's going back? I'm gonna make sure he was well rested, but I saw the second half of the game at home and 102 155 bucks, which was nice now difficulties to win in like two of my game pools. So this week so and so they've got a big test this weekend again at home. Tennessee Titans. Division rival You were going. Our producer Kyle Wells is for some reason Group and where white Lind white linen D, and I'm a proud white land Warrior of some For some reason, the Tennessee Titans fan Yeah, my two and 14 titans colts attendance record will be there this Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium. What I hear you say White Land warrior That makes me feel nervous. Don't worry after I love you after Okay, just checking. We're good. Somebody put somebody would send me a sign that said Sign. It's on 65. It just said in the capture. The sign was racist, much and it was a road sign that said. Brownsburg, this way. White's town this way. Gosh, Brownsburg left whites town, right. But anyway, I just I just fair warning for you Call. Yeah, I think you and I had have similar seats. The higher up you go like we're in the 500 level. The more sparse the concessions in the beer is noted s O. So on your way to the seeds out. Stop my girlfriend. I will make sure we get it on our on our height. Yes, given their hike. You're in the complete opposite into the stadium after the same seats I had, but they were awesome. They're awesome seat She was looking down. Pretty high, but because of the limited capacity and trust me, there was every bit off 12,500 people there and there will be this this weekend to this is a huge game. This determines who will be first place solely it's out the F C South. And so that's a huge game and I thought it was interesting. And you have to let me know of downtown is next week, but Four. It was a 4 30 game, the Packers and the Colts and was down there with my son and my dad and his wife, and we We tried. I liked what I saw downtown. It was dreary. It was wet. It was cold and there were still people out about there were wait times at all the major restaurants. Uh, yard House District Tap Kilroy's Hooters and we ended up going to spaghetti factory, which I didn't even know was still open. We tried to go to chance. Somebody tell me what the deal is with Champs inside Steak Inside Circle Center Mall. We tried to go there Sunday. I thought they had been opened up. I thought they were open. But the the When you go inside Circle Center mall, it looked like somebody had smashed out the front windows. The champs, and they've got him all boarded up there like the excellent doorway into the main entrance there from the mall. Okay, so it was close at hand, right, Nigel? If somebody could tell me what the deal is with champs, where they were temporarily closed, But I would have figured That would have they would be doing a little bit of business. I mean, I know of restaurants are in terms of capacity limited, but I would like to know what happened with champs inside the mall at Hammer Night. Or maybe because it seems weird that I could see what border windows on the outside, but on the inside, you know where the mall is. That tells me there's something else going on, Um Thanksgiving travel you Are you going anywhere? You traveling? Noblesville? Okay, So So what are the restrictions there? I mean, 20 Anything up in nobles will. I'm not quite sure. My mother in law lives kind of an unincorporated nobles milk. She lives out in the country so they can pretty much do whatever they want. Did you? Change your plans at all because, despite warnings from the CDC, Americans have flocked to the airports and more than three million people went through the airport security between Friday and Sunday, which is a lot but nowhere near the kind of traffic you see a typical Thanksgiving weekend. Um, but it was the biggest air travel weekend since March. I claim I say Thanksgiving Day is the best day to travel. Here's what I traveled on the Fourth of July to Florida, Abdul The airport was empty. The plane was it's like I had my own private flight. That sounds the same way when I went to Las Vegas. Yes, but it was okay. So was was over Labor day, Or was it it was right after was right after Labor Day. So what? That that following week, and it was pretty much they want to know, Flo. You know, in episode, Mort, it was like, I'm like I've never seen the airport this Not busy during the day and we fought and I flew into Tampa in July of the Tampa airport was empty. The resort that we went to was Was empty, um, with like we had the place to ourselves. So why? You know there's some travel shaming going on right now, And maybe it's different because of Thanksgiving. You're going indoors Families. That's what what everybody's shaming you about. But I maintain that on the actual day of Thanksgiving the day of Christmas. We travel on the Fourth of July those of the best days to fly because there's nobody traveling on those specific days, days leading up to Yes, yes, and we're going to Seattle. Uh, the last week of December. You heard some of this will be kind of It's exciting to get out of dodge. I just need to leave for a few days. Well, while you're out west, maybe. Did you stop by any in and out burgers when you were in Vegas? Actually, yes. She fights, no fights. What is it with with fast food restaurants and fights? And I think it's people want one their food fast and when it now and they're like it's late in there, Drunk drunk there. They're impatient. California's in and out Burger chain listen, is opened its first two locations in Colorado this weekend. And the lines were up to 14 hours long. Did you imagine? Waiting 13 hours for in and out Burger? Just uber it right. Uber eats. Yeah, here. A fight broke out at one point in a guy lost his pants during the fight, girl. Oh,.

"Absolutely have the right to be upset about the colt home Attendance policy and you absolutely have the right to tell him it's unacceptable and it needs to change. You're their boss because you bought their stadium. 93 WNBC Rob Kendall in for Tony Cats. Good morning. Thanks for joining us Happy Memorial are happy, but about three months behind their buddy Happy Labor Day. So the cold says, we talked about last segment came out with their attendance policy this year. It's completely ridiculous. 2500 people allowed in a 70,000 person stadium and people keep yer what Woz is happening. Well, I'm going to read you the sentence and a J. When I get to the point where you determine where you go Because you're college educated man. You have the Indiana state degree. Want to get to the point in this sentence when you figure it out? Why this policy is such crap? You say Stop and let me know. OK, I'm just gonna keep reading. And when I get to the magic words, you'll know it when you hear it. Okay. All right. Theater. Indents number was determined following discussions with the Marion County Public Health Department stop. Read that again. Just make sure you didn't miss anything. We'd like to hear the full sentence. I mean, I'm not saying you're not wrong. I'm just saying, would you the attendants number was determined following discussions with the Marion County Public Health Department. And we're set to meet local NFL and CDC guidelines to help limit the spread of cove in 19. I think you were correct when you said stop the last time the Marion County Public Health Department. If you want to know why this policy is completely awful. It's the same reason we didn't have fans of the 500. No people can say they want well hoax. It didn't do that. Pinsky made the decision on his own. Oh, bull, You're going to tell me that if Joe Hogg said there a call come had been out cheerleading going. We're going to have fans in this race. We're going to figure out a way to make it happen. Pinsky would now we don't want to do that. No, of course not. This is once again. Joe Hog set his administration that has ruined everything good and decent in this city. Who and just who just recently is the middle last week, said this about people just trying to open their businesses, and I promise you That Dr Caine and her team will go full Footloose on your business. If you're operating as a dance club. Now the question is to Jimmer say. Why did you go along with this the same way? I asked the question to Roger Penske. Why did you go along with us? I have no idea why these very powerful people with money. Influence connections and a product that the public wants and clamors for continues to kneel to these politicians. This is why this stuff continues to happen because people who have the ability to do something are sitting silent and our complicity and agreeing to go along with insanity. Look if the if the agreement was 20,000 people in Lucas Oil Stadium Okay. It's a little more reasonable. I still disagree with that. If you want to go to a football game, you know the risk. If you want to go, then go. It should be your choice. If Jimmer say wants to have a full stadium full of people that should be his choice. What If you have to say that one out of every 28 seats is all that's going to be filled. That's not social distance thing that social insanity, which fits with every other public policy. That has been put forth by the Hawks that administration since the start of Corona virus up to and including last week, and now this with the Indianapolis Colts. But Jimmer sage, just like Roger Penske is not blameless. Just like the Indiana Legislature is not blameless in the decisions and the Fiats and executive orders of Eric Holcomb. When you sit silent when you don't push back when you don't fight back when you don't stand up and you have a platform to do so, then you are a part of the problem. You're not going to tell me that of Roger Penske had not name names and not fought that the public outcry would not have been enough to get the 500 with at least 25% capacity. Of course, you could have got it because sports I mean, it's ridiculous of all the things that happen. Businesses shut down lives to start that. Well, you know those things happen. What? No Indy 500. No way, man. Same thing with the colt. Businesses destroyed Lives ruined Calamity economic cast. Well, you know, those are the breaks What? No attendance at home Colts game's no way. Once again, powerful people who have the ability to do something have done nothing. Now. I've long said that any private business should have the ability to set whatever policy they want for you to be in their store doesn't matter whether I agree with it or not. The point is I have the ability not to go. Man, They're not taking my money. There's two caveats to that. I have the ability not to go and they're not taking my money. If a private for profit business is not taking my money, and I have the ability not to engage with it. I'm fine. I don't have to agree with it. The Colts pass one of those tests. I don't have to go and I'm not going to go, but they fail the other one, which is they're taking my money and they're taking your money, and as a result, they work for us. Now, if you're not familiar, I know I've Beaten this, you know, to the ends of the Earth over the years, but we get new listeners in all the time. Lucas Oil stadium that by the time factor in interest in everything else cost well over a billion dollars, that free stadium that Jim ER say the owner of the Colts was given. Was given not from a magic money tree. We didn't plant a stadium seed in the ground in the stadiums sprouted up. That stadium is funded by us the taxpayers through a tax increase. And no For the most part. It's not just marrying county. It's the Donut County say for I believe it's Morgan County. Hey, a tax increase on every sandwich. You buy every soda you by.

And do my own interpretation on it, And all will be revealed momentarily, So make sure you stick around. For that. So let's talk about the Indianapolis Colts. And their response to Corona virus. As you know, the NFL starting next week, the cult open their regular season. September the 13th that's at Jacksonville. And the first home game a week later against the Minnesota Viking. September the 20th. Now, if you're not aware The Indianapolis Colts. They play in a big old stadium. It's called Lucas Oil. And if you ever have driven on the 70 of past downtown, you see it. You cannot miss. It is a great big old monstrosity back holds roughly a 70,000 people. I believe if you're playing along at home. Well, the and by the way, every NFL team kind of given its own discretion on how to do seeding this year because of Corona virus, So a lot of people were thinking. Well, maybe it'll be 25%. And you know if you did that, that's roughly 15 to 20,000 people. You could get in there. You could. You know, every four seats, you could have a person. Okay? All right. Maybe not the best, but a little bit Good started selling part. So one of the cold's gonna do. Well. The Colts came out on Friday, and they announced their plan at least to start season for seating at Lucas Oil Stadium, which seats 70,000 people. Now I'm going to bring producer Ethan in on this because I know you're not much of a sports man. But even if you had to guess, have you have you heard the story yet? Are you aware what the answer is on those Okay, shaking his head because I wouldn't want to, You know, manipulate the data here and give away If you had to guess of the 70,000 people. Lucas Oil Stadium could hold roughly How many do you think they're going to allow in Lucas Oil Stadium for the first home game? Keep in mind. Roughly 18,000 would would give you the 25% as many of the teams are doing. What do you think the Colts are going to know what would be your guests? Well, they didn't allow the 16,000 people over the Indy 500. So I'm going to say, tend 10,000 that or is that our final gas? You would be way high. Ethan, you would be way I In fact, you would be four times to hie thee. For a 70,000 roughly seat stadium. 2500 people will be allowed in the Lucas oil Stadium for the Colts home game. If you are scoring at home, that is four count them 4%. Of the total population, which could fit in to Lucas Oil Stadium. I did the math, too, because of course, I have long told people that math, not my strong suit. In fact, I had to take logic in college to get the math credit. I did very well in the logic class knew looked out there, but I used the a handy dandy calculator on the phone and that comes out to one person. Every 28 seats. One person every 28 seats. Lucas Oil Stadium for the Colts home opener. 2500 fans. Now look. I got the right to be angry about this and you got the right to be angry about this because you know, in the past, you said, look local businesses. Khun do whatever they want. You know if Walmart wants to make you wear a mask, fine. If Kilroy's downtown they have to, but you give him saying, whatever local business, the hardware store, whatever this is their business if it's a private business You know what? Everyone if you don't like it, don't go in the store, and I have long said that I obey all the rules that the people ask, etcetera because of that, If you don't like it, you want to go, But you have every right To scream and yell and shout to high heaven what the Colts are doing because you, my friend! If you're hearing my voice, there is a good chance that you are part owner of Lucas Oil Stadium. If you're hearing my voice right now, if you're marrying catty resident or one of the donut County residents, except for one donut, can you believe there is a good chance that every sandwich or soda you purchase you are taxed to pay for Lucas Oil Stadium. And you know when they built Lucas Oil Stadium, and we've talked about this on the show before I realised, so if it's old hat to you, I'm sorry, but we have listeners all the time, and here's weak sometimes have to rewind a little bit to go forward. You know why they taxes 1% 1% food and beverage taxes every sandwich or so do you purchase in all of I believe, but one of the donut counties and Marion County then and that adds up if it's if it's a $10 meal, that's 10 cents and think, How many times you purchase a $10 worth of food at a restaurant in center or a lot more anyway, the reason they told you that we had to do that we We had to do. The tax increase was too fun Lucas Oil Stadium and we had had had to have Lucas Oil Stadium because we had had had tohave people downtown by the tens of thousands. And we said, Well, some of the time. What? What? Wait a second. We've already got a big giant dome is called the Garcia Dome. And it holds tens of thousands of Oh, no, no, no, no, That's not good enough because our CEO well, it's it's just not attracting people to downtown like that. It's no state of the art. But but but they can play football there, and the goal is to have the people watched the football right well, but it's not nice enough. And people won't want to come down here and trust us. The governments and by the way, this wasn't just Mayor Burt Peterson, mayor of Indianapolis designed this was Mitch Daniels. This was the Indian, A Legislature all the Republicans on board with this two. This was a big thing at the time. No, no, trust us. They said No, no, no. You anti tax or you're just the worst. Trust us. The Lucas Oil Stadium, the big news stadium. It'll bring so many more people and people want to be here and you'll you'll be raining riches. The investment will be so great just shut up and pay your 1% food and beverage tax. Well, I don't know about you and again, I say this is someone who had Take a logic class instead of math to get through it through college, But I'm not sure. 25 100 fans for the first Colts home game on September the 20 of them. I'm not sure that's going to give me a czar Brownsburg resident much of Ah, return on investment. Um Ah, I just I hate you know me. You know me. I hate to be a complainer. I hate to be someone who raises doubt on on government ideas and government philosophies, But I just don't think that in a 70,000 Person Stadium The 2500 people that that's going to give me much of. Ah, return on investment from traffic downtown, You know, people standard hotels people had eaten on restaurants in my little community there on the West Side. Indianapolis Ah, just outside the west side of Indianapolis. I just I'm not feeling that return on investment. So what now? What happens now? Think about this. This is where we're at with Corona virus. We are the government agencies. Don't kid yourself for a minute. The Marion County Health Department didn't throw down the edict on what the Colts we're going to do You think the Colts won 2500 people in there? One person every 28 seats? Come on. Come on, Even high school football right now isn't doing that You're much closer to high school football game than that. No, no, no, no, no..

"It could get to the foul line on a consistent basis. Kevin Bowen, give me one minute here on the cold. They're starting three weeks. Is that it? The September the 13. Oh, my goodness. You know what date is coming? How bad is that? We go in two weeks. Why? Welcome to 2020. I don't know a day. There's either, but yeah, I was at Lucas Oil Stadium earlier today they had their final training camp viewing for the media. On Ben, you know, like you said, I mean, two weeks from Sunday, they will be in Jacksonville for their home opener. So I kind of get into regular season mode here. You know, maybe not this coming week, but certainly the next week. And roster cuts are a week from today. They haven't 80 man roster right now. Bengals at the Combine in Indianapolis, taking a closer look at Joe Burrow
"With us here from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis where we will be all week so much going on. I'm waiting next with Adam. Schefter Louis Riddick Todd mcshay and Mike Tannenbaum just to catch you up right now. Here's what's happening today in Indianapolis. It will be a very busy week. At Five o'clock eastern though owners are expected to meet players to talk about the new CBA which could expand the playoffs and move to a seventeen game regular season. We've got forty seven. Nfl head coaches and GMT. We'll be talking today. You're also hear from SEC. Standouts Joe Borough and to a ton of Aloha who also addressed the media earlier today. Jonesboro put on an absolute show as you know on route to a national championship for Lsu setting an FBI. Single season record with sixty touchdown passes and Ditto. While completing a whopping seventy six percents of his passes and not only that but bro won the heisman trophy in dominant fashion receiving a record ninety point seven percent of the first place votes here. Our previous comments from Joe Borough on February seventeenth during a reception. For the Davey. O'brien award. He had this to say I do have leveraged the Bengals have their process and I have my process. We haven't even gotten to the combine yet. There's a lot of things that happened. Leading up to the draft. A lot of information gathered bras. Mother Robin shot down the idea. Her son does not want to play for the bengals. Saying we have no idea where that came from. It's a story out there that has created that doesn't have any substance at least from our perspective here Hasbro earlier today here at the combine. Of course I want to be the first pick. That's that's every kid's dream you know I've worked really really hard for this opportunity and I'm blessed to be in this position. I'm a ball player. Whoever picks me on my go show up? How play whoever for forever dressing? You know. I'm just not going to be presumptuous. About what they WANNA DO I. It's the draft. You guys have been covered it for a long time and you never know what's going to happen so we played a month longer than everyone else and everyone else's been training a month longer than us you know. I wanted to put. I don't I didn't think I'd be able to put my best foot forward here at the combine so I wanted to wait till pro day had another whole month of training and just be the best that I could be when everyone when. Everyone's eyes are on me. You know coming in. If you're the number one pick the teen is picking number one. Is there for a reason? So you're going to have to come in. There's going to be ups and downs and you've got to stay steady through the process. Our research tells us about Joe. Borough is his own man. He's not going to be talked into saying things for other people's benefits so if that's what he said. That's that's fantastic. I'm looking forward to getting to know him getting to meet him through. The process haven't been able to sit down with them yet. But we've got that on the horizon. We'll talk more about Joe. Boroughs plans to hold off throwing here at the combine. But might I'll start with you in terms of do you want? Do you not want to play for the being. You have any issues at all with where we landed at least at this point. No I mean as I said last week Joe Borough at the end he does not have leverage. The bengals have the first pick in the draft. If they want to draft. Joe Joe Borough. That's where he's GonNa go now with that. Said I think it's incumbent upon sack Taylor in the Bengal organization to create the Right Environment. Where he could come in and they could build something sustainable and truly transformative so. I think where we wended. Wendy is appropriate last week. He could've handled that better but to Joe Boroughs credit. I think they tweak things I think they're in a good spot now. He's been well-coached past week. Tower doesn't it. Yeah and Adema to your Do All your contacts. It appears that borough likely young he's projected pick. I still think that's where the bengals ultimately go. And they're sitting there and that's about this a team that needs somebody to revitalize that franchise and they are expected to look to trade Andy Dalton at some point this off season and so when you're sitting there in division with Lamar Jackson there in Baltimore think that they know that they have to get somebody in there. That's going to put some points on the Board Baker Mayfield Cleveland and this is going to be the pick for the Cincinnati bengals. Even Joe was considering trying to exercise some kind of leverage really the only leverage you have is withhold your services and not playing not report even if he was thinking along those lines. Let's say he's doing a deep dive trying to figure out exactly. Just what the Cincinnati offer as far as developing me as a quarterback. Could you blame him? Could you really blame him for wanting to dig? Deep on exactly what? What does the future going to look like during over the course of my rookie contract with this football team would exactly? What exactly is Mike Brown's commitment to go ahead and building out this roster around me because we all know a lot of what's going to happen to him has nothing to do with him and has everything to do with everything that's going to be around him. Just look at the past three or four drafts. And how certain players have benefited from going to certain to certain teams? Just look at l a look at the difference between jar rookie year in his second year. Sean mcvay came in. It flipped his rookie year. People were saying Jared Goff to Canada. All of a sudden his second year is like. Oh wait a minute. Maybe he's not so bad you couldn't blame him. If that was a thought Lewis to that point I also think an opportunity. If you're Zach Taylor to say hey what's happened in the past. It's irrelevant we're going to myself with you and we're going to build something great and we can't worry about what's happened before we have a lot of work to do. But if I'm the bengals if I have a hey coach Taylor. That's worked with quarterbacks. Like you mentioned Jared Goff Joe Boroughs Billy and character. That's a great opportunity for the bengals. Sino three things one. Is that if something were to go on with. The bengals is not going to happen in public and this has been addressed in the past week if it's going to happen behind the scenes so whatever we hear from this point on. Don't even don't even look at it. Don't think about it because it has nothing to do with with what is going on behind the scenes. The second thing is this guy's different cab he beats. It goes a Beatles drummer. He doesn't care what anyone else has done. In the past what everyone else is GonNa do in the future? He's going to do what's best for Joe Borough but the third thing I know about him is he's a football guy he's his. His brothers played linebacker at safety at Nebraska. His Dad's a almost four decades coach in football. He's a football guy at its core. He's from Ohio. Obviously I think when it's all said and done he winds up going in Cincinnati if he's number one overall pick but again. If it's GonNa Happen it's GonNa Happen. Not In the media. It's GonNa happen behind the scenes again. Joe Bro not expected to throw on Thursday. He said he just wasn't ready yet. Not a huge deal. Sam Darnold Kyla Murray. The last two years have opted not to throw here at the combine as well. What did make headlines on Sunday? Oddly enough pros hand measurements the measurable quarterbacks took place on Sunday on the smaller side. Love listen here's what he said after it was suggested his aunt size was small considering retirement after. I was informed that we slipping out of my tiny hands. Please keep me in your thoughts while he's got good company because here's what Super Bowl fifty four. Mvp Patrick Mahomes had to say who had just slightly larger hands than did borough my small Andrew doing great so far all right he should say believe in yet. Here's borough earlier today addressing his hands. Yeah I mean these measurements you can. You can take so much from them if it's a glaring issue on film with turnovers. Yeah it's probably an issue but I didn't have a lot of fumbles or anything like that so I just tried to make a little joke out of it I think it's a non factor I don't get paid to talk about. Measurements and analyze. The measurements like played to play football. So that's what I'm GONNA do. I look we're not gonNA make too much of this question. Well yet about what? They actually do what they're actually measuring here so worry not. We've got a ruler. We've got Louis at. I mean really what you're really trying to do is just trying to measure the expense of someone and they put it down on the ground and you actually hear about guys actually doing hand exercises to stretch their hand as wide as possible although when you're grabbing a football you're actually going to measure from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the Pinky here and this is hard because this is a hard rule and you can't really get good accurate measuring you look tired type by just under nine right. Look I'll give you a non center's Oh that's attention and would have actually done something with my. I mean what's interesting when you watch the tape of Joe Borough? There are situations where people come from behind strip him when he's trying to move up in the pocket and run. I mean that's going to happen if you have nine if you have ten inches so I mean it's not a glaring obvious problem as far as him on the football field and that's why I think it's really. It's just going to be something that will hopefully wind up forgetting about certain the biggest thing is and you know this with all of these drills you know as well. Mike you go back to the tape and you're trying to find something after the fact that says okay. Now I'm going to look specifically at these things so you're gonNA look cold weather rain and then ball security and Joe Boroughs as good as any college quarterback you're ever going to see in the pocket in terms of two hands on the ball and protecting the ball. I saw him in two thousand eighteen the last weekend. In September against Ole Miss. You can go back and watch the tape. My suit was soaking wet when I did the open of that game. It was pouring rain driving rain in anyone who says it doesn't rain in Baton Rouge on a Saturday night is lying to you. Because it poured and he completed seventy two percent of his throws with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in that game. So you go back to the tape and you try to look at these things and what the tape tells you is. He's just fine. You know I had a theory here. I have an interesting experience with hand size so I was forced out in two thousand eight. We were we trade for Brett Farve and just as a fan of sport. I can't wait to go out to the first practice and watch Brett farve throw. There's nothing physically imposing about breath and he goes out there and he's throwing Abe I've ever seen and I ask them like what is the value. Where's this philosophy comes from it? He said you know what Mike I have long fingers and I actually couple of football the way a lot of people throw a softball. I could actually be over the top and that's where I get all my philosophy from just watching my practice. It was unbelievable to watch though. I know as Lewis show. There's a tradition of how we measure hands but finger. Length is actually an underrated aspect of playing quarterback so far so far small hands but long fingers and you know what my pinky and all the time strong throwing football pictures of the five. It's easily the least important finger in the hand and I can't remember it ever being a big factor. It's all there in the grip. The pinky to me doesn't matter. It's archaic. How we're measuring the quarterback's hand span now with that. Said there's thirty four quarterbacks in the last fourteen years who have been drafted that have had hands of nine inches and smaller and really only two of them had any sort of Sustained Success Ryan. Tannehill is one of them and Jared. Goff is the other. That's it so there are thirty two out of thirty four. Who have failed. But are we going to say that he's going to the Joe Boroughs? Not GonNa have success because his hands tells me that the reason for their failure wasn't because they were nine inches weight.

the way I don't have any student loans and to congratulations you've won a Marriott hotel stay with your awards program I don't have a Marriott rewards program so did I get that kind of crap well back in the day there used to be the no call list you can sign up for and it was awesome I think it was pretty effective for a little while baby effective for people that had a land lines to going directly into their house right we're talking about ten plus years ago sure well now there's a company called do not pay that's the company name and they've developed a new product called robo revenge and if "In Lucas oil stadium and it's about time we have some estrogen they are right conservative **** conservatism makeover I the right on ninety three W. why I am daisy hello also here it is banned I don't even know how long since I ever tune into a NASCAR race usually I would watch those like if I felt like I had Sunday afternoon nap yeah because the drone because of the wound room yeah that really good thing yeah but I don't pay a lot of attention to NASCAR until yesterday when I heard that there was going to be you know some some hello hello Baloo and man was there ever somehow look yeah airforce one yeah like eight hundred feet yeah yeah I mean it was awesome right amazing yeah and I mean even people who aren't fans were like this is all right yeah it was incredible and then of course the beast the presidential limo took a lap around a few laps actually around the track and and like the liberals all over Twitter was like oh my god he's driving backwards on the track is going the wrong action I want to be used I want do you want one of those one one I would feel very safe yeah I was in such a thing is like I mean it seals you against chemical attacks it seals you against everyday does literally everything I want so course there was lots of criticism because they went the wrong direction around the track which is on purpose because Donald Trump doesn't like to do anything that is to the left and and so it also went very slow because the thing weighs twenty two thousand pounds so people are like why isn't even on the track it's only on the apron well that's why he laughed I think going back everything is right he does everything wrong they know god absorb this amazing more right I now see millennia her dress she's standing still she's always standing ridiculous put her on the cover of a magazine are you know do that somebody vogue anyway it was amazing of course from spoke a little bit and he was very very glad to be there and talked about how the unit now this is NASCAR about honoring god and country and it was just awesome it was perfect it was eggs he knows exactly what to do media wise yeah to appeal to his fans and he did I mean that was amazing yeah amazing yeah I'm also I don't know if you guys saw this article I think on medium if I'm not mistaken there's a woman by the name of Caroline Boris Cinco who wrote an article she's a Democrat has been for twenty years and she wrote an article I think it was on medium that went completely viral because she talked about how even though she's been a Democrat for twenty years she wanted to experience a trump rally yeah and so the article ended up her article went viral because it was such an amazing piece was really well written and it was really descriptive and and great and then she appeared on I think fox and friends to talk about the peace we've got a little bit of her just talking about you know going to the rally and then also answering the question about whether Democrats have a shot at winning yeah let's take a listen to her describing the rally people on both sides in my friends group of the political spectrum or genuinely afraid for my safety people on the left for free that the trump supporters are going to harass me people on the right were afraid of the interior was going to show up and cause violence and so I was very nervous going into it I don't really know what to expect but when I got there I had to wait in line like everyone else and everyone was so so nice I didn't meet one a mean person there never feel cared for my safety for an instant and it was like a rock concert to go to that rally the energy of that rally was nothing like what I expected from seeing on TV so I was really happy to be able to go and see for myself I'm calling for the viewers who didn't have the opportunity to reading your article share with them your thoughts what happened when you got there and experience the rally in your thoughts afterwards well I think I you know for the past several months for me I really been making an effort to kind of break out of the echo chamber I put myself in from being really upset when Donald Trump was elected and served to listening to all these different voices and started to see that the things that you saw it maybe on the media or elsewhere were not necessarily true and so it was it's been a proper process for me above all being to a place where I could even go to a trump rally and feel okay about that and so my article is really about that evolution how it took place how I started to listen to two other voices and be open to new ideas all right so that's the first bit yeah and wow and I saw this interview live and I was like wow I because you know I listen a lot of Democrats are not going to do this right a lot of liberals are not going to do what they because it's their perception is what their perception is exactly what she said is that you know were that trump supporters are are violent and they're you know terrible people and she's like I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna do is I'm gonna walk into what I perceive as being the Hornet's nest right it wasn't all men I loved this interview because she was like everybody was so sweet res I can't believe it's just every so nice is just wonderful and and that's exactly what it is right in specifically when she told people she was a Democrat and they are like well welcome to around exactly what it was like she was hiding was have felt she was like yeah I'm a Democrat like sorry they were like great time you're welcome here yeah yeah let's have fun and I love her whole piece about it and I totally get why it went viral in the same interview she was asked if there was a Democrat that she believed could win because she doesn't she will not vote for trump yeah she has absolutely no intention of voting for at least right now I was just so great with this kind of me maybe she well that's not saying if it doesn't remind you of the walk away movement yeah totally yeah totally and that movement by the way continues to be a thing and there are more people walking away all the time in fact I just re tweeted another woman this morning who was like wow ever since I walked away I the support I've received yeah overwhelming because I've been embraced I mean this yeah this blows away the narrative that we hear and now we've heard for the past three and a half years right exactly so the same woman Caroline forcing it was asked about whether or not Democrats have a shot at beating trump this November and here's what she said no I don't believe anyone of them have a single shot of beating him I I think fundamentally the party has changed so much fun when I joined it twenty years ago and I think that people in the party really don't understand that they are getting very very out of touch with just the average people in the country I think he's going to trounce anyone that they gets nominated and I think it'll probably be a wake up call for people in my party to take a look at themselves and say how did we get here and what do we need to do differently to rain this all back in I'll tell you what they do "Let's get into the Games for Sunday pain we can start at Lucas oil stadium we're we're looking at Indianapolis a modest one point home favourite total in this game forty seven at Fox but of course to Houston Texans have been dynamic of late F one four out of their last five covered the last four have a little bit of playoff revenge on their minds for a game that they were dominated by Andrew Luck in company to the tune of twenty one seven season ago and in a unique scheduling quirk or call it what you will both teams actually enter Sunday's game fresh off a victory against the Kansas City chiefs interesting did not know that why Chins I didn't know I didn't really realize that listen I think when we look at this matchup we look at this game we're starting to see what the Texans offense has the potential to be right with a little help up front we've kind of seen flashes the last few seasons of you know in the lead offense when it's healthy Wendy Shawn Watson has it rolling and he's confident is a passer which you look the last two weeks Houston's had the best pass protection in the Watson air and I think that's pretty important moving forward the ground game has also been on fire something that the Houston Texans could not do last year was run the ball consistently would fizzle out constantly in the red zone and it's because I think they found some consistency upfront finally right you found your five guys as the talent is playing spots I think that suit them best in you're looking through the last two weeks eight pressures fifty six percent of runs of grades so now let's see if that continues because it's it's it's a two-game sample it's a byproduct of probably facing the chiefs and Falcons defenses and I think also the right is Howard injury at right tackle could shake up some of that piece of this that I've kind of been alluding to their other thing in this match up that's kind of caught my attention and it kind of is a a broader point a topic that we've discussed Ad Nauseam ruin knows at this point we liked the coach's coaching staff of the colts were not fond of it for the Houston Texans and I think coaching tends to matter when the opponent is familiar and everybody kind of knows what each other wants to do and it's the coaching staff that comes out and has the power Henschel or ability to make adjustments and make changes and I think the team that does that rise probably the colts and you look last season these guys play each other three times in the I meeting which was the first time Frank Reich saw this team Shawn Watson has seven point one yards per pass in week four that number tumbles to five point three per pass in week fourteen and then you had the quick turnaround Wildcard Game Watson was held a four point two yard pass at home and I think that's interesting it's something that you have to talk about here there's another element play and it's one we've talked about I think we talked about it on the Monday night breakdown of the new CBA about home teams coming off the bye and they generally haven't performed overly well it's you know about forty one percent of the time they're covering think it's positive if you've done some reading this week Frank Reich iterative that this was not a time to vacation that this was rest recover and mentally focused on the bye week there was no vacation time no one was allowed to travel so it would make me nervous in a pick em game choosing bill over Frank Reich and you know it just it that becomes magnified when you have two weeks the game plan

Major league baseball there in the tenth inning the White Sox and Rangers are tied at four with network. Indiana sports. I'm rob Konitz? Back here on Indiana sports talk. I'm John Herrick filling in for Bob level this weekend. And as you probably heard me mention earlier in the show, I am Depa graduate. So I am going to devote a segment of the show tonight whether you folks out there like that are listening or not to the Depa, tiger athletic program, and who better to bring on to talk about that. And the sports information director from depaul university, Bill Wagner, Bill, so great to talk to you. My friend. Have you been? I've been great down. Thanks for thanks for having that you must be a really flow. Something seems like this yesterday. We were doing wer. Yes. Yes, we did it when we did this many times when I was on the college radio station there on depaz campus. WJR lot of great memories. I wanted to I wanted to pick your brain. I Bill about, you know, there's a lot of athletes listen to this show, high school, and maybe small college, or whatever it may be who maybe don't quite know as much about the division three athletes experience, as they should, what could you tell them what it's like to be, you know, what it's like at a division three campus because it seems like there's still a lot of great athletic opportunities at a place like Depa. Well, yeah, there are John, and I, I think sometimes the, the, the way division three is characterized as the non scholarship division of MPAA in all it's true division. Three does offer. Student athlete. Pretended to maybe a little more broad in their college experience. Whether it's playing multiple sports or whether it's studying abroad for semester, not that you couldn't do that on any levels. But it's really part of the experience that, that, that we try to communicate to our perspective student athletes, Bill Wagner joins us in the Saint Vincent sports performance hotline. He is these sports information director at depaul university, and Bill one thing, that's great over the years. Depa has won a lot of I think I've let it awards for what they've done for what athletes have done there. But also a lot of academic awards to if I recall. Oh, absolutely. We just had another Google cloud academic all America selections, past week in a coli, who's on our women's golf team at a has a perfect four grade point average of chemistry major junior, and, and she was fifty seven academic all America recipient of all time. And in fact, we just had eighty. Students game to the compensated McConnell, having three point five or higher GPA. That's. It's, it's at the heart of what we're doing at department. I think a lot of other division. Three schools. The academic side of things very important. It is. But for those who don't quite know the history of the Monin bell game as well as you and I do into pop plays Wabash, every November try to tell the listeners out there, what that game is like, because it just feels like it so much more than just a football game. Well, it is there's so many things rounding the game prior to the game. I think the, the proximity the schools twenty seven twenty miles apart, and the, the family relationships that span, both schools that, you know, maybe families have had two children attend the two different schools. But I think it's the competitive. So the rivalry that history dates back to eighteen ninety we just one hundred twenty fifth game and it's truly. It's something that while other libel read bigger schools, generating maybe statewide nationwide interest, the, the percentage of interest from the schools, we have two thousand students in Wabash is nine hundred just the intensity of the number the percentage of people who are interested in so much greater and into that one day is. It's something that everybody looking forward to on campus. It, it definitely is. And this also is a year. I, I understand before we got on the air here we talked about some of the athletic achievements from, you know, a lot of the other students that have been on campus who have really who have been some of the students this year that really made a big name for themselves in what they did on the field. Whatever sport, they played well, we had, we had three teams are women's basketball team again made the national tournament. And in the screener softball team did as well. And but in the in the spring, what we really the big story that we had coming out of the championships was LaRussa Lula, who's just graduated. She finished tied for fourth at the national championships, but. That finish combined with regular season where she was the number one ranked team a memo in right player most of the season. She got the, the division three golfer of the year awards. I, I'm have one from dapa, and she actually set the single season. Stroke average record for not only the, the women at depauw, but also the men. She shot in the seventy four to seventy five range, and that is that is awfully impressive. For those who maybe don't know Chris Huffman that the women's basketball coach at depauw university. She's kind of, like, I would almost describe her as the division, three version of Pat summitt. She's been there, so long now she's getting, she's racking up wins like crazy. What is she meant to the Depa women's basketball program Krista special coach, but she though so special person? So I mean, she, it's not only what she does for women's basketball, but it's what she does for the community and the greencastle. On Putnam county communities. And you know, she just reached your six hundred wet in the fall, these, these hundred wins over so quickly to keep track of the six hundred wins that she reached were in the fifth. Fastest in, in history among all division, MTA division, one two or three coaches. But yeah, Chris. And we're really fortunate that she's stayed at the, the twenty six seasons and, and the things that she's in their players of thought to the community is made a better place to live. Right. Sports information. Director at depaul university Bill Wagner, a Bill. I know you're busy man. I know you got a lot to do, but I wanted to just check in at my alma mater, and see how things were going. Glad to see things are going. Well there in the athlete program, thank you so much for coming on the show today tonight. And talking about the NCAA division, three experience a little bit. Well, thank you very much. I appreciate it. And, and I enjoy following your progress at your career as well. Thanks, a lot, by the way, Bill, I will have a talk with coach Bob level, and it's not going to be another twelve years before you end up back on the show. Again, I promise you that. Well, actually, John, it is funny, Mike. My career has spanned the the beginning of won't even born when I believe, and Bob level was still coaching. So there you have it. That's I'll be sure to remind him of that story when he comes back Bill. Thanks a lot. Always great to visit with you, man. Hey, thanks, Jen. All right. Bill wagner. The sports information director depaul university. How about that, that just goes to show you right there? All of the many people that Bob level has interacted with over the years as being the voice of this show for network. Indiana's indiana. Sports talk. Great to have a Bill Wagner onto tell little Bob level stories, as always nice, always love. Good. Bob level story coming up. In our next segment. There's been a lot of movement on the any Annapolis colts broadcast team. I don't know if you guys know this or not. But Matt Taylor was given the full-time play by play position at the end of this past season. So he'll be the full-time play by play voice on the radio going forward, but also Indianapolis based sports anchor, and reporter Overton is joining the colts as the team's new producer and on air talent for colts productions, she's going to start that job, July fifteenth. She is in Florida right now covering believe a track and field events that actually has some Indiana athletes in it. I had a chance to sit down with Larry talk about that. So she's going to join us and talk about that in our next segment coming up and what an interesting career she has had. So now she's joining colts productions, you're gonna probably hear her on many of these affiliates across the state talking about that coming up in our next segment with the with her with her role for the Indianapolis Colts. She'll be a sideline producer sideline report. Excuse me. You'll probably see here on colts television. You'll see here on Kohls dot com and she's going to give her thoughts about what it's been like to be with the cold so far. What kind of off season story lines are big part of what the team is doing and also give us a little update about what she's doing in Florida where some of these Indiana track and field athletes are so she's got a lot to talk about shield. She will join us in our next segment. But again, big thank you to all of our guests so far who are joining us via the Saint Vincent sports performance hotline. You are listening to network. Indiana's Indiana sports talk. I'm John Herrick filling in for Bob level for the remainder of tonight. And I'll be back with you tomorrow. We'll talk some.

"Three WABC robbed Hendel, the rob KENDALL show. Thanks for joining us. Doping gate on Twitter at Robin KENDALL spending much of our first hour. The show today talking about the boneheaded idea by the mayor of Indianapolis, Joe Hawke set to literally steal money from the suburbs. His proposal to fund infrastructure in Indianapolis says that he should be able to take income taxes from the Donut county and give it to himself. And we've been picking that apart a here in the first hour. So if you live in a caramel or zions Ville, or Greenwood or Brownsboro, you need to listen up because the mayor of Indianapolis wants to take money that you contribute to your city and county and he wants it for himself. And he says you're obligated to pay that to him because he's earned it because you might have to drive here for work. Take a listen after decades of underfunding. It is abundantly clear that any solution for Marion county's infrastructure problems must include. Help from all who routinely use that infrastructure years of underfunding. This guy had enough money has enough money, laying around for four four hundred thirty million dollars in new bus lines, red green blue purple all the colors of the rainbow rainbow. They've got a bus line plan for it. It's actually just red blue and purple. But the point is, you've got four hundred and thirty million dollars for bus lines that aren't necessary most people don't want you've been downtown been around Indianapolis or signs everywhere about it. But you're going ahead with that. You know of any pot holes and roads. Four hundred thirty million bucks would, would would would fix Mr Mayor. If you if you don't I'll be happy to tell you. It's a lot. It's most of them, but mayor Joe hogs. It doesn't want to get us fiscal house in order, he doesn't want to stop spending. He doesn't want to stop his liberal ideology. So he believes because he believes he's underfunded. It's somebody else's fault. So the he can't do the job of tease underfunded. And so now because there's no more left take from the people in Indianapolis. I mean, if you're in the Indianapolis, fear, Mary county, the big about it, you've raised, your taxes, ton over the past couple years, because liberal politicians have told you, it's the right thing to do massive tax increase fry PS, two fund public schools in Indianapolis and a massive commuter tax. Well, where's the commuter tax money, going under, we under underfunding the citizens voluntarily raise their own taxes that money could go to roads, but it's not going to the bus lines. It's going to Joe hogs. That's big liberal ideas. And so if you're sitting here saying, well, you know, I do drive downtown. Okay. But I ask you again as I asked you in the last segment, let's play this thing out. Let's see where it's where workshops, I spend I drive downtown. I spent a couple minutes every day on city of Indianapolis roads. I spend the vast majority of my time on roads in the county in which I live. So should I pay money to somebody that I drive on those roads for a couple of minutes, a day, should I say, screw it to the people who provide the vast majority of the services that I use? And, and because that's what the mayor wants to do. Remember, he wants to extract money out of the Donut counties and shame them because you work downtown. This guy at four hundred thirty million bucks. Plus lines, but you should feel bad, and he should be able to take money from your county. But let's play this out as we didn't last segment. I live in an incorporated town. I live in the town of Brownsboro, and that means I pay for roads in that town every single day. I'm I'm surrounded by people in townships. They don't live in the corporated areas. But they live near me. And so as a result, they have to drive on roads that I find town roads in order to get to work. So should I is the town of able to tax people in the townships should I be able to take their money? I mean they've we play it out to the degree, which is what the mayor wants to do. And at least we're in the same county. At least we're actually neighbors, you can you imagine if you tried to tax people in the townships? Can you imagine? If you went to the township, the people live in unincorporated areas, if you if you were in the city of Greenwood or the city caramels pay up. But that's what the mayor wants to do. Now, if you're saying to yourself. It seems like this has happened before because it has every day. When I get to work during driving into work. I drive pass Lucas oil stadium. And it is a concert reminder of the major contribution. I and every other person in the Donut counties of which mayor Joe wants to steal money from have already had money taken from them every single day. We contribute to the city of Indianapolis, and we do it through the food and beverage tax, every time you buy a hamburger. You buy a soda for every dollar you spend one penny is tacked on. To go to the city of Indianapolis to pay for Lucas oil stadium. Where he did that. Are you aware that you do that? Every time you buy a soda or sandwich or order fries. You're paying for Lucas oil stadium. Which directly helps the city of Indianapolis. Stay afloat. You remember the little stroll down memory lane. Remember, Bart Peterson the last democrat mayor of the city of Indianapolis, a trend here in a trend that every time we have a democrat mayor of Indianapolis, they need to extract money from the town from the, the, the surrounding counties, because they can't keep their act together syncing a trend here when they built Lucas oil stadium tax payer funded as it might have been. They didn't have enough money to staff. They had enough money to build it. They had enough tax payer funded money to build it. They didn't have enough money to staff it. And so the deal that the mayor and governor, Mitch Daniels, and fairness struck with the legislature was the ability to level of food and beverage tax on the doughnut counties. So one penny on every dollar that you spend goes to Lucas oil stadium. Take a look at your tax Bill next time. The sales tax on most things in Indiana seven percent. So that means if you know you go in and buy five dollars worth of widgets, you're gonna pay seven percent of those widgets. So your total five thirty five. If you buy five dollars worth of food, buy food. I'm talking sandwich. Soda fast food joint restaurants, etc. That bill's going to be five forty and it's going to be five forty because the additional five cents is going to marry hog set to fund his stadium. Now is mayor hawks had given any of the tax money that he gets from that stadium back to the counties, because I mean, if we're all in this together, if we're all sharing together, should I be getting some of that back in Brown's work? Yeah. Right. Yeah. Right now. Not that the counties are completely blameless in this food, and beverage tax because what they enabled most of the Donut counties to do the, the cities and towns. And these Dona counties was to take an extra penny for their own use so many municipalities and central Indiana your food and beverage tax nine percent nine percent. But the catalyst for that. Was Lucas oil stadium. You already contribute, whether you eat and Browns Berg, or you eating caramel, or you Edens, zion's Ville, or you eat in whites town..

"WIBC rob KENDALL robbed. They'll show so Ivy Jay has an interesting article out that Lucas oil stadium. Or the colts play, of course, concerts. They are galore as well. In the eleven have played there had a Super Bowl there. I mean, it's pretty much if you're, you know, having a big event in Indianapolis, you're doing a one or two places. Right. I mean, if you're having a concert exporting about you're doing it bankers life Fieldhouse early oil stadium and Lucas oil stadium set to get seven million dollars in WI fi improvements. That's huge, especially if you've ever attempted to use wifi Lucas oil stadium. I really think about it. It's a sixty seven thousand seat then you so when you got sixty seven thousand people a deputy to pull on wifi might slow down a little bit. And by the way, this cost of seven million dollars going to be shared three ways the colts, Verizon and the capital improvement board. That's another way of saying you the taxpayer. So he's going to be divided up three ways. It's basically gonna cost you a little bit over two million boxes a taxpayer to have this this improved. But it got me thinking about how different the fan experience. Is in two thousand nineteen versus the fan experience. You know, I mean even eleven years ago and look a spoiled stadium open certainly from the fan experience thirty some odd years ago. When the Hoosier dome was opened. If you're not involving your dying, right? I mean, that's just the way it works. If you're not evolving, you're dying in any business and pro sports and entertainment is alternately a business. It's a big business. There's a lot of money on the table and part of getting people to these big venues is not just whatever you're there to see. But they call it the whatever experience the concert experience the football game experience the soccer experience. And in two thousand nineteen access to wifi is part of the experience. Twenty years ago if go to colts Gabe thinking about where my seats are. How's the team doing those sort of things? Now, it's about all these other extracurricular things that have nothing to do with the performance on the field. And so in the world in which we live. World in which we live do buy three million dollars of investment by the seven million dollar investment to improve the game experience at Lucas oil stadium. Ninety-three WIBC, rob KENDALL. Want to touch briefly on the shooting in New Zealand, and I don't want to spend a lot of time on this this week because we tend to try to focus on stories that are closer to home. But obviously the story had immense. And of course, I do mean immense impact all across the fruited plane all across the world forty nine people dead here is what the. New Zealand Prime Minister had to say, clearly what has happened here is an extraordinary and unprecedented act of violence. Many of those who will have been directly affected by this shooting maybe migrants to New Zealand. They may even be refused. Jeez. Here they have chosen to make New Zealand the harm in. It is the Hon. They are us the person who has capitulated this violence against us is not they have no place in New Zealand. There is no place in New Zealand for such acts of extreme and unprecedented violence, which is it is clear. This act was that's the prime minister of New Zealand. Speaking about the tragic shooting that took place late this past week. Now, I mentioned this. And again, I don't want to spend a lot of time on it. Because facts and information are going. To continue to come out. They're going to continue to develop, but I did want to touch on the comments of one person because I think it's. I think it's a great insight into just how delusional deranged, the left is in this country. And those are the comments of social sweetheart. Alexandria. Oh, Cossio Cortes, the socialist sweetheart. And here's what she had to say via Twitter shortly after the tragedy. Quote, thoughts and prayers is reference to the NRA's phrase used to deflect conversation away from policy change during tragedies not directed. Two. PM ardor n-. I greatly admire. Okay. All right. I'll bite. I will. I will attempt. I will tend to work my way through this nonsense. First of all why in the hell is the NRA being mentioned here. Does the NRA have something to do with Australia or New Zealand are you in some way, attempting to claim that the NRA is responsible for something that happened in New Zealand New Zealand with some of the toughest gun laws in the entire world. Good laws dwarf, anything we could ever imagine. Thanks to our second amendment here in America. Is that the case you're trying to make is that the case this idiot Alexandria Cossio Cortes is trying to make. Second of all. Thoughts and prayers mean just that it's something people say to show sympathy to show understanding to show caring to show that that they are. They are aware of the situation, and the you are on their mind that they are concerned. It's called being nice. It's called caring about your fellow citizen. And the idea that this woman would use her one of her first tweets on this issue to put that out there. Tells you everything you need to know about her. At about the left in this country. Everything. And I do mean everything is completely political at all times. I make you believe that the sick. Like, that's where your mind goes. Right after this after this tragedy. You're going to mention the NRA after this tragedy. Because that's where her mind goes. That's the way she thinks. And that's the way the left thinks all the time. You know, paraphrasing Rahm Emanuel shortly after Obama was elected never let a political crisis. Go to waste talking about the economy. These people are disgusting. They are disgusting human beings. And it's really scary. How close they actually are running America. I mean, you should be outraged by this. What policy change with the NRA trying to direct New Zealand? Nothing to do with New Zealand, and the already have some of the strictest gun laws in the entire world owned, by the way, I didn't work this guy met every requirement for all your gun laws, and it still happened. I. I am not a person because I spent time in elected office who get surprised by much politics. Not a person who gets easily offended. I am not a person. Who goes I'm so offended. But I read this. And there is something seriously. And I do mean seriously wrong with this person. And I hope the next time you go to vote and you're thinking about voting for a democrat, look, I'm no fan of the Republicans, and I'm not carrying the water for Republicans. And I tell you you e if there's libertarian on the ballot certainly give that person consideration. But the next time you even think about voting for a democrat before congress before Senate bid for the presidency. Remember, this is who you're going to put in charge.
