"The field right now for sure. How about by the way, so Luca Garza gets his name in the rafters as did as did marble, which was great. But how about the fact that Murray has had this kind of season as a follow-up to Luca Garza? Like Luca Garza was essentially a wire to wire national player of the year a season ago. And that's the kind of thing. We talked about it in the podcast. KB where I would just, you know, it normally doesn't have that. And yet, even though I don't know if Murray is going to win it, he has played brilliantly this season he had 28 and helped him win against Michigan state. Let me give you the floor here. You know, talk a little bit about the hawkeyes at 19 and 8 and what Keegan Murray has been able to do being a top 5 score in the country, 37% from three. He's 5th right now in Ken pom's player of the year algorithm. What you see on Tuesday night and what do you think of the hawkeyes? Keegan Murray first team all American for you right now or not. It's close. I don't know. He's either like the last person on the first team or the first person on the second team. It's such a crowded race, which I personally love, but he's very much in the mix. They're particularly because he's a very good two way player, which I'll take into account. Yeah, that was an eye opening result. I thought from Tuesday. They totally dominated in that game down the stretch. Giga Marie in particular, I thought what the hot guys did to Michigan state was was pretty jarring, honestly. It felt like in the second half, they just completely turned it up to a new level down the stretch. Michigan state completely laid down Michigan state's now lost 5 of its last 6 games. So yeah, that was kind of my brief takeaway. It was decently close, even midway through that second half, and then I would just turn it up to a new gear. I think the stories probably more about Michigan state right now because they're kind of flailing in the wind, but I think we should show some love to Iowa because that was a pretty impressive closing finish for Keegan Murray and Iowa in that game last night. It was. There's no doubt about it. Michigan state has got some issues, no doubt about that I'll get to in a second. I will right now is 19th in the net as of Wednesday morning. It's predictive or better than its results based metrics. If Iowa kind of works its way to the field, but they take one more bad loss, you know, kind of get some good wins. They could be an interesting test case or a study in how the committee is going to see the field. I think there's a couple of teams this season where the disparity between results based metrics and predictive metrics are stark enough where we're going to actually be able to look at three or four teams that get into the tournament and we'll say, okay, did the committee apply the same philosophy overall with all these teams or is there inconsistencies? And if that does happen, the latter part. If we have inconsistencies, I think it's important for people to remember because I've had conversations with committee members over the years about this. I'd love to have these, by the way. I'd love to have these conversations on the record. Unfortunately, you know, the way things go, it's always just a committee head who speaks to this, but on background conversations over the years, I've basically been told, listen, there have been cases of teams that either got in or didn't get in or were on this scene line so this sea line where there might be, you know, it was a ten person committee in the past and I was 12 people. There might be three people in the room that are vehemently banging the table for this team to be in the field as opposed to out or whatever, but it is a collective vote, which is good. You've got a diversity of thought and it's going to, you know, there's a process to this and every committee member puts in their overall seed rankings. And then it's just going to spit out the order. It's going to spit out. But just remember if we do have inconsistencies, it doesn't mean that all ten or 12 committee members thought, well, we're going to apply this set of thinking to Iowa, but we're not going to do that same thing. Who's another team that might this apply? Maybe Marie state, like Murray state, I actually think has some pretty intriguing potential seating possibilities. We're not going to do it with Murray state or we're not going to do it with, say, North Carolina, it gets in. So just keep that in mind going forward. I'm sure we'll address that once we get into March. As for Michigan state real quick, I had the Spartans, I'm going to blindly, am I one to three 58 preseason? I want to say I had him like 34th, 35th. I wasn't all in the way some others were relatively all in and by all in people thought this was going to be a top 25 team. They're about now big picture. Now they're slumping. They've dropped 5 to 6, but on the whole, if you kind of step back and look at what they've done, they're about what I thought they would be. So I'm not, I'm not stunned. They just aren't getting consistent enough. It's obvious, but these beset, like they just don't get consistent enough play, and they aren't a good shooting team. Like they're decently on offense from three point range, but inside the arc, they're horrendous. They're a 198 in the country. That's very bizarre for a time as a team. And to this point, max Christie, the freshman, the talented freshman, he hasn't made the jump. There's been some nice Tyson walker had a game the other day. AJ Hogarth has been good. I do like Malik call a lot, but this could be something of an MSU team where and I might have mentioned this on the pod. I didn't mention it on this one, I mentioned it on the college boards now, which if you want a little extra norlander, college sports now.

"I don't know what time we know for sure it was just satisfaction was losing Dallas that we know for sure. Yeah. He was he got benched right? He got oh yeah. With your new Carlisle on him. That was pretty awesome. Right. That was not going to go well at all. Did you see my God Luca Garza got a two way contract with the pistons? Played very well in the summer league. I can't believe it's even a two way like to me. How do you not? How is he not your you know reserve big? Like he shooting the ball well from the perimeter now he even said he's like listen sorry quote from him. He's like listen I probably can't beat anybody in a three quarter court sprint. But you know what? Who's going to go harder than me? It's basically what he was saying is like and it's true. Like he's last a bunch of weight he's still doesn't run the court smoothly.

"Frank mason might be the lowest and he was like at the beginning of the second round nobody. There's not even close to being selected. Fiftieth or fifty. Second whatever you've picked. I'll tell you what. Chris lagaras the the offensive skill. No doubt about it in terms of like what he can provide shooting can pass. He makes all the right decisions. He's a good finisher inside all of this stuff. The question still is going to remain. What level can he reach defensively. He's definitely better than he was in college. Undoubtedly better and i. I might be getting like ahead of myself here. But i do think he can at least survive on defense because he's smart because he has good positioning Rebound well coming off the bench in a limited role. At least i think he can provide that for you because you're not bring him on the court. You're giving luca garza minutes because of defense you be giving a minute because you want an offensive spark a spark off the bench doesn't just come from you. Know guards dot just like an jamal crawford right. It's not just that mold. A spark ham can come from a kuzma right. Six eight six nine or can come from a near seven footer. like ours doesn't always have to be a guard so maybe that'll be his role in the nba. As long as he can survive on the. That's going to be the question. Still and as long as they can. Rebound the last line of defense is rebound rebound the ball. Well he's always been able to rebound the ball well. I view rebounding punctuation ends. The possession ends the sentence right. And he's you know he's a five that can shoot threes like you're gonna have to come out there and i don't know man frank frank tank can have a career. This guy can have a career you know and the differential tank got finals minutes. For god's sakes probably didn't want to have to give him finals minutes but he did And when you just drive cunningham and he got some nifty guys sadique bay and whatever having a five that actually does have to be honored outside of you. Know the the free throw line slash three point line That's what everybody's looking for creating space for their dynamic players and i'm hopeful because i felt bad for the guy right the guy's best college basketball player and nobody wants him like. How does that happen like it's never happened. Ever not even close. There has never been an amazing college basketball player like that. That won that award that somebody didn't draft like in the first thirty five picks or sippy one hell of a story yeah So anyway yet. We're excited. I ended up being excited about luca garza I had i thought the summer league. Look i i was terrified that when that first game got postponed but much like the nba season. They were able to get this thing done. Which is rather impressive. Given you know how scared everybody gets every time. The turn on the news right. Yeah the especially with everything. That's gone on in vegas. But they were able to pull this off where they had the entire summer league and they had fans there and we're going to get a championship game tonight peyton pritchard versus debut on mitchell through amazing..
Detroit Pistons Sign Luka Garza
"Luke garza could actually become a real. Nba player that guy that one collegiate player of the year and yet nobody wanted and is drafted in the nba draft What ended up with twenty and fourteen or something. Last night he was. He was outstanding Again he has dow signed a two way deal. So luger's who does nobody been. It's he'll end up getting four The pistons but luca garza signed a two two way deal. He of course had a historic collegiate career at iowa. But he was you know by all accounts slow-footed big played near around the basket and so was of no use to people in the nba. And yet he made threes. He put up to huge double doubles and in their finale. Last night ends it with twenty one point and fifteen rebounds and got himself a two way contract so the luka garza dream is still alive after getting selected fifty second in the nba draft. He was good and he's fun. You know he's a real throwback but I i love the idea of becoming you know. Just the there's i went back and looked kevin. There's never been a guy like you by where this has happened work. I becomes the naismith player of the year in college basketball. Nobody wants him now. Not all of them have panned out. I e like the tyler hands boroughs but tolerance was like a lottery pick. I think frank mason might be the lowest and he was like at the beginning of the second round nobody. There's not even close to being selected. Fiftieth or fifty. Second whatever you've picked.

"Joseph to a two year ten million dollar contract and i want to say that second year has a player option. That's not a great deal to me. it's That i don't wanna say that it doesn't matter but like considering like i think it's just kinda like it's whatever that's movable I don't mind watch. And he was fine in detroit on no big deal. It's tiny money and they signed Trey lyles to a two year five million dollar contract. So i don't entirely hate that like like whatever miles could be useful. Assault floorspace pacers. That's really all. I have andre. Lyles like he was really weird with him with. Aw chan tonio. Last year. Because i know he was almost involved in a trade at some point in the year and then it fell through and or he ended up not being part of the trade then it just kind of made things weird between him and the and the team in front office in general Which was just kind of weird. But overall i'm interested to see what detroit does stokes. They have some room to work with What do you wanna talk about the draft. How'd you feel about the draft. So yes so for detroit's draft they drafted cade cunningham number one overall. It's an obvious home run. It's the pick. Everyone thought they should make the pick. They should've made. And it's the pick midday and made They've got a legitimate number one on their team. Now i think keith. Cunningham is going to be a franchise player. And he's the exact kind of player that i think he'd want to build around when you're early in your rebuild at least early ish. I think he'll play pair pretty well next to killian hayes. Although there are some some your turn my turn. Things i think to work out in terms of Killian getting a little bit better as a catch and shoot player. But that'll come with time in caid will encourage that kind of development because killing. We'll have to play off baltimore. You will have to get used to that. And it's something. I think he's capable of They drafted isaiah livers michigan at number forty two. I generally generally don't begrudge second round picks. He's you know he's a from a state school. Which is kinda neat. Nothing that i think is a huge benefit per se. But it's fun. And i like it. And he's a shooter and the team needed shooters. I don't hate that value at all. He's pretty fun. Look garza fifty-two. Honestly like i wouldn't have drafted luca garza personally but if you can take a guy who was that good in college. That late in the draft picks..

"Keep in mind that We're sitting here on ground Hog day every day seems like ground hog day, but but typically, um, when you're talking about this point of the season, um we're right around kind of Christmas or the New year's in terms of the sequencing, and in most seasons your You're still trying to find a rotation. You're still trying to figure out who plays best together with one another, And that process has been a little bit delayed do with with everything going on. So we're going to see a different starting lineup tonight, but but sometimes it's less about who starts and more about who finishes. That is a very, very good point as well. Kevin. If we flip things over and take a look at I was in this offense. I mean, we've mentioned They have some challenges on the defensive side of the ball. But on offense, it's the second highest scoring offense in the country. 90 points a night and it starts with Luca Garza. And you have Luca on the inside. And for Michigan State. How do you approach Luca Garza? Is this some a situation where maybe you send double teams on every post touch and dare him to shoot from the outside? Because they're also loaded on the perimeter was with some shooters. Yeah, That's a good point, Dalton because you're trying to pick your poison in a way, And really, what you're trying to do with cars is make him inefficient. This is a guy that I think for all but one game this season is top 20 points. Like keeping guards under control. In terms of in terms of scoring. He scores so many different ways and in terms of post touches, you can shoot it from the perimeter doesn't really good job on the offensive glass from that, that you're not going to stop Garza. But But if those 20 points 22 points come on 18 or 20 shots instead of 11 or 12 shots, and you can keep them off the foul, And there's a way tol him a little less efficient. The other thing from for Michigan State is cleaning up those defensive backboards theme, the defensive defensive side of the ball, ending those possessions, not giving Iowa second chance points could Could help keep Michigan State in this thing. And Kevin I know we talked about this a little bit ago, but with the fast break in the in the transition game for Michigan State, I mean, we've seen Michigan State quite honestly play well defensively, even since this 20 day pause, But at times when you don't get it to result in tow baskets on the other, Randy King kind of throw off that momentum, it's hard to sustain. That type of defensive effort. Maybe you get some of those stops. You get those defensive rebounds. You're talking about out letting you move it down the floor. It changes the momentum and feeling of things, would it not tonight? Yeah, it wouldn't and look, let's let's be real for a minute that sometimes this is a simple is after a Michigan state made basket Who gets back to the other side faster. Is it us? Or is it is it Iowa guards? It does a really good job of establishing early post position, and if he's able to get deep in the post and bury a defender, you've got no chance. Thea other thing is that if you're if you're a guy short, that's how you lose shooters in transition. And, as we know, with with Bohannon with Wee scamp with Frederick, those are those are some really good shooters for the For the Hawkeyes. And if you're If you're not locating each one of them in transition, I was going to find him and they're gonna knock down a shot. You know, it's it's a very good point. We've talked about a lot of different ways. That s you might be able to capitalize and get a leg up here in tonight's game where we take a look at some of the other keys where you got Kevin. So the first key is obviously a zit sounds is make shots. Make shots on Dad. Second key would be to do a good job on guard that week. Already kind of hit on trying to keep him inefficient on the on the inside. In order to, um T O let him get his butt make it make it inefficient and doing so the third key is is Jordan Bohannon, Jordan, Jordan Bohannon can can shoot the ball from 30 35 ft and he will pull up In transition and take those those deep shots. So whichever Michigan State defender happened to be on him in a given possession, make him put the ball on the floor because he's a much better shooter than he is a dribbler. That's It's a very good boy in something definitely to keep in the year out for here tonight, Kevin, Thanks for the insight will hear from me. Shortly appreciated, Dalton will be back to wrap up the spartan basketball pregame show and get ready for tip off. And you're listening to the Fox sports presentation of MSU basketball. Hawkeyes can't back up their lofty ranking, suffer humbling loss to Indiana
"Leg. I think we might need to revisit. The word realistic. The definition is as follows. Having were showing a sensible and practical idea of what can be achieved or expected. I bring this up because on wednesdays. Podcast i asked you if you believed indiana had a realistic chance to win at iowa on thursday night you said no. I said no. Just didn't seem like a sensible or practical idea of what can be achieved or expected and for at least three reasons. One iowa is clearly better than indiana in the season to iowa would have the best player on the court. In the form of luca garza an three iowa was inside carver. Hawkeye arena where it inner with a nine and record. Obviously you know what happened next score indiana iowa sixty nine not n- is roy j carver famed industrialists rolling over in his grave. Norlander what was it like for you to watch and unrealistic thing. Become a reality late thursday night. Miriam webster defines the word regret as sorrow aroused by circumstances beyond one's control or power to repair. That game was out of my control. It was out of your control of conduct or an event giving rise to regret undesirable unwelcome. And as that game played out and as it got into the second half. I thought this is interesting. This is look this indiana getting a good win. I was really going to take this loss all right. You know what this is. This'll be something good to talk about on the. Oh wait a second. What did we say at the end of the last podcast. We said too much did we. Did we call it a little too far. Yeah did i have someone tweet at me. A link to the definition of realistic. You bet your ass. I did congrats indiana fans although you might be super conflicted this morning here because obviously you want your team to do well. Obviously a decent portion of you just love basking self loathing when archie miller doesn't performance walls coaches. You'd like you got a good win here. This is the kind of win. That's gonna get you into the ncaa tournament. like i. i think the hoosiers someway somehow they're going to be in that incident tournaments if it's because of a win like this. Are you suggesting that was a cpap win was well. They're not maybe it was. How about a vaulting win. They might not have been in prior to this game. Get the win vaulted. And that's even better than the seat. Bump vault vault launch it right there like a catapult right over great job i indiana i gotta figure this is probably a top five win of the season considering iowa's a top five team in the metrics. It is a game on the road again even though it's not a true true wrote environment. It's still a so. This is one of the five wins and think anyone has had the season and india. It wasn't like the squeaked it out they got it done. They beat an iowa team that i checked late last night. I'll bring up right now. Yes i was still third at ken palm as we report this podcast on friday morning and the win by twelve so a wonderful job. Clearly you know. That's the kind of game if i speak to. The hawk is real quick. And you're right. I actually have in my notes cover. Hawkeye's rolling over in his nest. Not his grave. He's really covering his nest That defense there is obviously problematic for iowa. That's the that's the kind of game. Where whether you're a fan. Or just a bit of a skeptic of the hawkeyes early this is why i don't know if i can take them to get to the final four. I still can get there. It was just a disappointing performance. What you see on on thursday night and what was your primary take away. Okay let me tell you. I experienced this indiana comeback. So obviously we we. We have a new president now and the country has been an interesting place to live in recent weeks and a guy with the high school with who was like a genuinely good guy but we see the in completely different ways In probably every election of our our lives. I've voted one way. And he has voted another and so he reached out to me and he said hey. Listen i i want to try to better understand like i keep hearing people say you know you need to listen to other people and i want to try to understand in an and you can see if you would it. Be okay if i reached out to you every once in a while and say. Hey well what do you think about this. What do you think about that and he. Here's what i think about this. And what am i missing. And i thought it was like a sweet gesture and so i said sure. Of course i'd be happy to talk gone. Eleven biden voters chatty to you like that by the role of the roles are reversed. And i said you know what i of course and anytime you wondering why so. Why does gp think this way. Or why do i think this way. And you want to bounce off of me. And i'm here of course.

Luca Garza has been somewhat quiet is quiet as he ever gets. Just 10 points. You know, with the threat of the three point shot is really changed the game of basketball because you know, nine points. It's hardly anything Now you come down, hit a couple threes. Like Jase or diesel. You're right back in the game, so five points. All evidence points to the Big Ten being the best league in America for a second straight season
"Today, turn our attention to the big ten where I have Iowa winning the regular season title while Norlander has pegged Illinois as the. Favourite and Wisconsin to finish second. So let's start there. Norrland explain to me why you're being totally disrespectful the frame McCaffrey to Luca Garza to this public research university that was founded in eighteen forty seven at CBS sports me Jerry Paul David all have Iowa in the top two but you and strong JAL cow bone have Iowa third in the big ten. Explain Yourself. This is gene wilders Al-Matar we're talking about for crying out loud. Oh, there we go. Something tells them you've been snooping around the Iowa wikipedia page. That's where I get all my goodland ACM forty, seven trivia gets on. What's the oldest institution in the Big Ten? Let's let's what do we think it is big ten rules. What's two oldest one founded first? What's our guest founded? I I'm running through right now I'm going to say it's Penn State Penn. State's your guests I'm going to go. I'M GONNA go man is a tough one I'm going to say. That's a good one. I'M GONNA say Michigan I'M GONNA Michigan sealed list no idea by the way no idea someone chips someone pleads tweet us and let us know I don't know when the oldest we could. Actually we could go and look through all the wikipedia pages in real time here. But let's let's make a fun quick podcast here you want to know why I have. Iowa. Third I'll let you WanNa know what that's what I want. That's what you want to I'll let you know that I talked with Sam visine yesterday good old Sam. Who May who may appear on this podcast remember never know it's always out there. He actually asked me where I have Iowa in my one, two, three, fifty seven and I said, well, I'm GonNa have them in the top ten but I'm actually going to have them behind. Illinois in Wisconsin. He goes. You're absolutely right and I don't know how many people are gonNA. Agree with you. But I'm with you hundred percent and the reason why is this this team has the preseason national player of the year and Luca Garza it's got a great talent and Joe Camp. Jordan bohannon terrific Khanna McCaffrey. Great. But defensively, there's enough there that are not there that I'm going to. Just sell a bit on a twenty eleven team from last season ninety, seven defensive efficiency at Ken Palm. I like Wisconsin's overall team just a smidge better smidge and I do like Illinois I think he's GonNa be the best team in the big ten. So I love that we have we need some more genuine disagreement on the podcast here I've got Illinois definitely as the as the best team in the big ten and then Wisconsin and then Iowa. But in the Grand Scheme of the sport, I, think those are three of the ten best teams in college basketball. We agree on that have Iowa fifth in the top twenty five in one. Illinois six and Wisconsin Tint So. You know. We're all in the same ballpark and I do think you can reasonably despite. My anger at the top of the podcast I do think you can reasonably have those three teams in. Any order as for Iowa. Five players last season start at least twenty games all five or back plus they get Jordan Bohannon Beck, they finish twenty third at. Kim. Tom. But they were 97th in defense of efficiency and quite clearly if you're trying to look for a reason why Iowa isn't actually going to break through and make the final four for the first time since nineteen eighty. Where you start is on the defensive side of the ball ninety seven defensive efficiency. It's hard to be great when you are that bad on the defensive end of the court,

"You you hate the badgers let let's be honest here like there's a level of hatred. But you have no respect for this Wisconsin team that I have number six in the country actually swapped them this morning move. Kansas. To five in Wisconsin it's six but they return everything absolutely everything from last year scene which by the way finished. Tied for first in the big ten for the regular season title. Why what's your problem? I mean, I don't have a problem with my just kind of that. I haven't twelfth in the country I. Don't think they're bad I. think they're really good I'm saying they're going to be a top three. See I'm saying that they can go out and win the big head. I'm saying that that's a team can get a final four by having a number twelve was just if you look at all of the other teams in front of. Everyone else has like upside. We kind of know what Wisconsin it's right and and we know who Brad Davis and we know who nate rivers is and we know it to meet your choices and we know who they all where, where are they getting better right. Where do you see that jump? Who Do you see taking the League next year that hasn't already made that leap so we know that they're good enough to go fourteen six in the big ten will we don't know what these other teams is. What happens with Luca Garza Back Jackman Chelsea I don't even know if I said his name right Pajot Tucson at the point I think he's a guy that could take a leap. So you can see where the improvement comes with a program like an Iowa you can see where I assume coming back and Kofi. Cobra coming back. You can see where that team that Illinois team take jump because I think I still has so much room to improve what happens if he finally figures out how to shoot. So for me it's very easy to look at these other teams to think about what they can be if all of these things happen and rank them accordingly now with Wisconsin. I think about what they can be and it's just kind of like what they are. So I'm a little bit lower on them consensus. I. Guess because maybe I think about the upside for all of these teams. I mean, I I. Haven't twelve I don't understand why Wisconsin fans think I. Hate I wrote I I missed on a column I said that that way Brad Davidson got suspended for punching do the nuts and Kobe king transfer. They were rumors that other guys on the program we're going to transfer right after him that I said that this program you know what's in a tough spot I said, they're in disarray ray at the moment they were in disarray but you know what?.

State seventy seven seventy two as Minnesota will take on the number two seed Purdue Boilermakers tomorrow night in Chicago in the winter of this one will face Michigan tomorrow in the quarterfinal rounds, Iowa thirty seven it is Illinois thirty one for forty six percent shooting from that I have six at thirteen from beyond the arc as far as the rebounds concern, Illinois, beaten them on the boards. Thirteen eleven two turnovers have been big nine first-half turnovers for Illinois lean to sixteen points off turnovers. For Illinois in that first, half Jordan Bohannon lead the way with eight points Tyler cook with six points. Luca Garza just two points shooting in the first after the big man for Iowa ads for Illinois Trent Frazier, three points in the first half on one of five shooting. I o Dugas had eight points. Georgia be Bichon had six points. In that first half, depending on Jones with six points off the bench. But again fifty four percent shooting for Illinois in that first half compared to forty six percent shooting for Iowa turnovers. The difference in this one nine for Illinois leading to sixteen for first half points. That's a look at the first half stats coming up. We'll get you the fact of the game and some news and notes from around college basketball, Iowa on top of Illinois to have thirty seven to thirty one..

Dosumu swingset to the nearside. Frazier. Ten on the shot clock. Furlan annoy Dosumu open to the three point. Hesitated? And drives it into the near seven footer Luca Garza and buries it over on the first one looked like a better opportunity. Anyway, I guess he told me you'll what to talking about thirty twenty-seven Dosumu with a stripper Bohannon takes it away. And now he's going to go in looks back at Bohannon on the ground and lays it in Dosumu is an absolutely different player tonight. Yes. Fighting a line. I now I see why he was the freshman of the year of the victim. Yeah. Given steals and making shots the little floaters over the middle and Fran McCaffrey's very upset with his team really giving give them the business. But the noise they made it ugly by playing defense giving steals off turnovers. A six oh run for the L annoy, fighting align. Why can't say enough good things about I o Dosumu last night? He was tentative. He was hesitant. Look like the stage was a little too big for him. And tonight, not only is it confident. There's a swagger with IOT assume. Oh, well, the thing that you have to worry about this was his first this is his first big ten tournament. In their first night, personal you, but he's taking he's got poise little floaters around the basket. I I like to this is what everybody's been looking for from from him. He's so long and athletic. So hopefully continue to handle the business. Fran McCaffrey as you said was really giving it to his team in that time out thirty twenty nine Iowa's lead a six fighting align.

"Locked in make sure subscribe to pick six five anywhere that you listen to podcasts. So no lender. Let's start in the big ten because it was an interesting weekend specifically in the state of Michigan. I know Michigan losing it Iowa on Friday night. Didn't surprise you. Because you pick Michigan to lose Iowa. I would've maybe done the same thing. But I refuse to pick Friday night games. Then on Saturday. We got a another upset involving a Michigan team, which I do think was a surprise to everybody. Michigan state lost in OT to Indiana at home Spar, thirteen and a half point favorites. Still lost rest in peace to Indiana seven game losing streak boy that came out of nowhere. It did. Which one you wanna hit on? I wanna go chronological hit Michigan. Let me bask in my pick. Also, by the way, also had Maryland losing don't bypass both. Correct. Picks there on Friday night perish. They don't count picks. Don't count. That's going to be you know, what that's going to be. Our new quick end of podcasts. Just eleven seconds. I'm gonna pick a couple of Friday night games or perish refuses to although this upcoming week. We might actually have your podcast ready for a little bit before Friday. So we'll see we might actually we might have a twist in that listen I will play a tremendous game. Biggest win of the season. There were not there wasn't a load of big time losses here. But given Michigan losing Michigan state losing in the way that it did Tennessee was in a tight one than pulled away late if Tennessee lost. We really would have had some calamity atop the polls, and it actually would've set up a one versus two Duke for Ginny matchup this weekend this coming weekend. Instead, it'll be number two versus number three point. I'm making here is that sometimes I feel like we can get caught up in the moment of these losses. And we forget historically that you know teams that make the final four playing the title game. We national titles in almost all instances. They will have two or three games in a given season where they stand out as exceptions to the rule of their of their general performance. I think Michigan state falling at home for just a second time in twenty three tries against Indiana. That's right. Indiana is two and twenty one in the past twenty three trips to east Lansing. I think that was a prime example. And then I awoke which is a strong. And actually, Luca Garza quality big man took advantage of breasts stakes who did not have who who had another bad game for Michigan. He's been a a really good freshman, but he's he's really hit some walls here or there. Just a fantastic outing for the Hawkeyes getting a signature win and getting that much closer to being a real instability tournament team that clue tracking toward that now. But it's it took advantage of of a big time opportunity there and was able to score a point per possession against the Michigan that has elite defensively. So for the Michigan loss. I don't think too much of it. I still consider Michigan. Which by the way is twenty into the loss is both reasonable at Wisconsin at Iowa. But still put Michigan in that top five to seven overall tier in college basketball GP, I've not looked at your rankings. I don't know where you have them as I know you'll answer that momentarily and then with Michigan state overall, Indiana doing that. I was just chuckling. Ng watching this game parish because I joked about picking them, and I didn't I wasn't ever going to really take him on the podcast, but you so outright. It's just funny. Like the one game you so outright. Dismiss of course, like we're not going to be idiots. We're not picking Indiana would to win this game. We picked them to cover and then lo and behold, they do it and they do it without their leader. And who coaches will tell you is their best player. Jon Morgan he goes down with six minutes to go in the first half with the shoulder injury. Dude has encountered so many of those in his career, by the way, this joined Morgan has just shoulder problem after shoulder problem that sucks, and they were able to overcome at winning OT get a huge win..
