"Industry. So we're still in the very early stages of planning this but I did want to mention it here to gauge the interest. So we set up a website where you can leave your email address. We'll keep you informed as things develop the link to that website and his show. But I'll mention it here. It's epicenter dot rocks slash reset everything and with that. Here's your interview with Joe Lubin. I love that. We're starting to soften French because we're here at HCC and so it's insanity and I can't speak French is immediately makes this a challenging interview. Thanks for joining us. Thanks for having this Transparent cage for for blockchain professionals that also serves as a Sauna. It also serves as a quarantine box against us. Nice yeah so you know we last spoke to you. I think it was probably about a year ago. I want to say that it feels longer than that must've been eighteen months. Yeah I feel like it was around January. Twenty nine thousand nine. So do you remember what we talked about blockchain? Maybe we did blockchain. Yeah so yeah. Give us a sense of how how you think. The ecosystem has evolved in a year which your takeaway on on on so on the Development Front. I think the the growth. The innovation has been astonishing On the CERTA speculative financial front. It has pretty much continued in doldrums on the Enterprise Front. It has been just charging it it remains in exponential growth. As far as we can tell so on the development front they're still spectacularly talented people Building in the industry and being drawn into the system and with respect to scale ability privacy confidentiality We're seeing we have seen over the last eighteen or so months massive breakthroughs that are coming online. So whether it's Zero Knowledge Techniques for privacy and confidentiality technology techniques for scale ability in the form of a optimistic roll UPS Z. Cayrol ups stark wear did Sort of experiment on May netware. I think they landed about nine. Thousand transactions per second throughput was really. It's pretty incredible We are working with Project called scale networks which is An VM compatible layer two network solution We have a are commerce. And decentralized finance team has a product and set a services called activates that is enabling us to both launch their token and facilitate Some of the operation of their network. And so we can launch. We can still want utility token so There has been much interest in token securities. And we're seeing a little bit attraction there We did a project called Mata capital. There were doing a handful of other projects with token securities What we're still big fans of utility Tokens Utility Tokens would not be considered securities by Securities regulators around the world and in most places And have some sort of utility in the network and were able to help. Projects like scale launch because we have a deep understanding of of the securities regulatory infrastructure around the world. So we can help. Launch the token we can ensure that there's usage of the token we can ensure that there's full life cycle monitoring security monitoring a token. We have another tool are Pegasus engineering. Group has another tool called orchestrate. That as we move into a world where we have these business networks and they're effectively merged with financial infrastructure because we're token ising everything Orchestrate Kenan able businesses that are operating on networks like Like Scales Network To manage gas and nonsenses in Cancel transactions when their in flight and resubmit transactions and register smart contracts etcetera and so Those kinds of breakthroughs are bringing the technology to life effectively so it was pretty apparent from beyond that consensus has a lot of different projects but content is being reorganized to a certain extent. Can you talk about that? He has consensus from day. One around five years ago has been in continual reorganization and a lot of the organization has been smooth organic evolutionary We had two events where we essentially made bigger changes and those events saw US shedding round a little north of ten percent in each case job functions that effectively weren't core to what we were as an organization so more recently we let me go back a little bit So consensus started about a year. After the theorem project began it started with the vision and mission of continuing expanding on that project and we started because it was an immature technology and there was no ecosystem developer tooling et Cetera. We were trying to build decentralized applications but there was no infrastructure developer tooling to enable us to do that and so we gathered a whole lot of brilliant entrepreneurs and technologists and Began to explore the solution space. In exploring the solution space we incubated invested in launched way over one hundred projects and many of those Have developed various significant. Traction real product market fit. Many of those did not we? We ran lots. And Lots of experiments. In pretty freewheeling culture and at the stage where now we have a bunch of projects that do have very significant traction. These are hyper ledger. Based sue the Pegasus Tools and products. Around that day. It's infuriates metamouse gets You Port Salih Theo. And all of those essentially fall along what we're calling a CORETEC stack so they are working Increasingly closely together and And we're building effectively up what we're calling blockchain operating system out of those pieces so In recognizing that there are some pieces that had lots of traction but didn't fit in our CORTEX stack and some pieces that did fit in our CORTEX. Dak over the last year. We've really been Sort of separating into two major functional groups within consensus and will effectively become to companies investment company a software company and so in that process. We realized that we didn't need a massive marketing group and we had the ability to streamline in various other ways so there are certain regions that we weren't doing great in on the professional services consulting side. We made some significant adjustments. That were just a much leaner much. More Coherent and Integrated Software Company and the Investment Company has also re architect to optimize our portfolio And make new investments and ask about these two companies in a bid and but it just before that's basically consensus has been hugely instrumental in growing the ecosystem and they recently was a discussion on twitter. Where someone said is so ether is consensus token in many ways. That's extremely flattering. How did you feel about that? Why didn't pay attention? I wasn't aware of that Twitter discussion And in a sense there's some truth to that but Other than for operational needs consensus has never really held ether We are certainly aligned. With a called a strong monetary policy And certainly aligned with the growing the value of the theorem ecosystem. Strong ether brings talent into our ecosystem. It brings attention to our ecosystem. It adds security to the protocol but Very directly at doesn't increase the enterprise value of consensus. Yes absolutely so the two companies you talked about Adia so if I understand correctly one of them as kind of the investment and. I don't really want to talk about that or that much but tennis about the other company. The company that builds stuff so token known to be associated with this. How the hell out of all of these projects in this Cooler Tech Stack going to work together. And what what what? What other things on that? Sure so the court textile company is called consensus and it is so internally we call it Software Co. versus INVESCO and Consensus is a unique organization. And that it's pretty much the only company in the world that has a very sophisticated public may net solution that is full stack and also we use the exact same code as a sophisticated private permission. A theorem solution when may stand up networks or enable others to to use our tooling we over the last year or so as we get more and more integrated and integrated means that are different. Teams are working very closely together to create coherent documentation coherent and shared. Api for for different Domains of focus Shared a product roadmaps shared go to market activities when we take that into a discussion with a prospective customer we can basically offer from a coherent and optimize -able solution from the protocol. Air With Hyper Ledger Basou and and orchestrate and other tooling Called Pegasus plus that. enables enterprises to have the comfort of support and tools around The core protocol element To infrastructural that's that's infuriate on May net But it's also potentially inferior direct in a private permission system so Pegasus and infuriates Ken. Response to Some of the same. Api calls soon probably all of the same. Api calls We have developer tooling in the form of security audit infrastructure in the form of truffle which we work extremely closely with still Pegasus orchestrates And able us to enables people to orchestrate their transactions but also do real time scaredy monitoring very soon so that infrastructure layers critically important then we have identity and reputation solution so decentralized identity verifiable credentials. We we lead the decentralized identity foundation and the verify verifiable claims and credentials group of the w three C And there's Matamoros the wallet which works very nicely across public and private systems. It's got a a plug in system called snaps that's enabling us to start addressing different protocols around the world and we definitely have a an increasingly active. Inter Ledger Strategy. And then at the application layer we can do document management and all sorts of other applications including token ization so various different forums were issuing bonds and equities and Municipal bonds. Lots of other things and all of that we can do because going all the way back to the theorem token launch. We've done a tremendous amount of legal work with securities regulators around the world and we can navigate that space with confidence and so we can deliver those solutions in a perfectly regulatory compliant fashion. You you talked about the the entertain- aspect here and I'd like to ask you where taking a step back and seeing where this is going. I mean there's a there's a pretty important professional services component to consensus but also building technologies that are operating on the public side in the future. How how do you see so the public? Permission interactions playing out. Do you see permission chains moving more and more towards public networks or do you think that the remain sort of in their walled gardens. I mean we're seeing things already in cosmos where already we're starting to see public validate validating private blockchain's permission. Blockchain's how do you see that playing out in the the bifurcation of our ecosystem into public permission lists and private permission was Sort of necessary ramification or or circumstance that was essentially natural and caused by enterprises what enterprises are and what they need to be conservative about. Pay attention to so. We saw the same thing with the companies. Adopting web technologies where. They wanted to use certain protocols but they needed to use them inside firewalls in Internet's until they became private and confidential scalable. Enough back then and secure enough and so we're seeing the same thing. We fully expect that the worldwide web will become an increasingly decentralized world wide web where it will incorporate many decentralized protocols for trusted transactions on Blockchain Networks..

"Welcome to Keith. And the girl. I'm Keith Malley Happy Birthday. Oh my God. Thank you same to you. Circuses nervous He says that he's not but could you not be everyone. Says they're not I'd honestly I don't know what there is to be nervous about really you Byu bringing up all three hundred sixty four days. I do it's fun. It's nerve wracking is that what's nerve wracking about it. Like oh it's coming. It's the anticipation. Oh but then. It's just a day isn't it. I mean I don't have to live with you. It's I'm fine also I can tell him lying. My high pitch rains usually come on. They have a birthday present for everybody by the way boot show rates from down under. Hey I was checking the American calendar and you guys had five weeks in November this year. Where's the fifth episode of the Flavor of the month series nonsense with Carmen and Kyle? Oh they don't teach US Matthew. Sorry you're in a different country and continent well. Well you're absolutely right. But here's the big news. They took off for Thanksgiving. However will be back weekly every single week in your VIP package? Nonsense we'll be right there. That's amazing yes that's such a good lineup and our VIP package In its way I some people not VIP members at the strange we're not talking not VIP IP members right now ray of fee on my birthday the IP is so good in its place this weekend instead of Callen carbon show is Hindi episode that she recorded with her brother about his seriously attempted suicide. I think this is one of those things. Those were things that we get to talk about. Like the people who jumped off the the bridge in San Francisco the all intend on dying and some of them live and then we get to talk about what it's like right before. You sincerely think you're going to die. I I've been talking about it over the years and This been I've been talking about some stuff and it's wrong like I never spoke to my brother from beginning to end about about what actually happened with a suicide so this was a big deal for me too. I thought it was so fascinating I wrote the description. This is how Keith did one of those. Like live tweeting to your attacks. And he's he's talking about my brothers attempted suicide in like four comedy source. Yeah it's really notes to myself for today. Yeah great right yeah interviews. Her brother Michael to talk about his sincere suicide attempt. I make a point of that because he was he was dead serious about it. You know it wasn't just for attention to talk. Talk about his attention super scary but to know that he woke up by accident like some kind of math went wrong. Even though he took the entire bottle is swell swell he was fifteen. He was in a psychiatric hospital. Because of that on his sixteenth birthday he discusses his social social situation the bottle of sleeping pills his ironic clarity the videotape. He left behind mental health. Riots in the time he tried to get a gun Oh and the friends and family dynamic before during and after. That was interesting. Honestly I think this is must-listen for every family. Are you part of one. I actually there's certain episodes so's of Keith and the girl or what's my name that are required that I do send to like friends and family and say look look. I know that you don't have to listen to every single show that I do. I do a lot of them. And you know you don't have to like be fan but this one and I I'm thinking of sending it to my other brother and to both their wives use. You should send it to your parents. Let's think my parents think we're allowed to talk about that ever right. Well you bring up the point that our parents said you know how lucky we are how great everything is but don't share personal information to other people. No shouldn't we right because everyone should behave this way right last time we talked about this show GonNa come out. You said You didn't cry episode today cry. I didn't cry. You're like holding it back. I'm sure I was because they didn't didn't want derail it with like super crazy emotion. I think that I could have cried through the entire thing. It's a lot of high emotional shit they had so they take a tough girl. Realize how I said that a lot of high emotional shit in the psych ward. They take away your belt ray shoelaces this kind of thing. They also don't let you have shampoo because people drink it. Yeah all the attempted to sides that happened in the psych ward of this teenage hospital. These children got them to make up these rules. So a lot of them are just walking around like some of them are walking around in regular clothes and then some of them are walking around in hospital gowns. And like when you come in go home. She's in her hospital gown. She tried to kill herself. So they're giving her as little as possible for her. To to use as utensil. To kill yourself you see this shampoo right right. Mango Apple Cinnamon. They just got confused. Whether you're GONNA do Michael would be in the psych ward and he loved challenging. The do you call them. Guards doctors he loved to be they would go. Okay time for bed and jump on his bed. Like one flew over the CUCKOO's nest they would have to throw him down and restrain restrain him and then he would have his wrist a certain way. So there's more wiggle room so then as soon as he actually wasn't going nuts it was just all an experiment for him. Well here's the experiments so they go. Okay you're you're you're secure now. And he goes nope takes his hand out and goes try again and you know I. I must have heard that as a kid when I came to visit him but all I heard was last night. Your brother got restrained because he was out of control. So I'm like what is happening and my parents like. Don't tell anyone that he's in the hospital. He's in the hospital for forty days. He met somebody that was an better. He better put on a fake cast when he comes out. Because I don't know what to say to people. He tried to. He met a schizophrenic and then tried to become one well he wanted to see if like you can do that. He said like he heard somebody talk to him and he goes okay. That's enough forget it. I think you guys are GonNa love this. I did and what's funny is it was recorded. Weird the parts that you like point out. I'm curious like if that's where everyone else is going to be. You know well. It was recorded when we visited him in Long Island in that library. We mentioned how that sounds like a psych ward right the pipes. We went to visit visit him. Unlock the pipes to the bathroom are were raped by that studio. So you guys would be you know real sad like and that's what I wrote more interest to keep everything level right and you can't get too emotional all right. Let's introduce our guests can the shall we these areas some of my favorite people on Earth the the hosts of the hot mess comedy hour. You WanNA download it for sure I up ladies and Gentlemen Emily Lubin what Happy Birthday everyone. Happy Birthday to you I. All I know you mean and yes, I'm for it, right? Yeah, right. I've encountered some non sexual wellness countered some people who are not sexually so well. It's no fun, right know vastly prefer people who are sexually it ruins of the day. Yeah, it really puts like a bad mood over the room. What's he normally swear him. So that's kind of like when you go to a comedy show and it's empty and they're like, normally it's backed. Right. Sure. Never happens. I'm always sexually. Well, let me try to shove this custard balloon into your vagina. New sitting there going. Yes, everyone's not actually. Well every once in a while. I'm totally cool with like you're so hot. I'm overwhelmed and I'm sexually sick. How do I get less hot? So you can make this happen. If I pick my nose and get less that he's more to create my wellness, I have to take one for the team. Yeah. All right. Emily lube, and you can follow on Twitter Luebbe nation. That's right. And Andrea does a show with them Emily as a matter of fact, you know what? It's the hot mess. Comedy hours subscribe for free, download that here, the business. They're not shy. Not at all. I kind of wish you are. I do. My goodness. But it's always nice talking to you both. And Emily was saying that she she's up with the show. So your current? Not only that she's in watching the YouTube clips. Yes, very funny because her respond that we are about to do it. You're gonna guess the movies on silent trailers. So excited. And what was your question before? If so, I I asked if you were not allowed to say the actors names. Because I notice that never says the actors names and the answer I got was no ham does just doesn't know any guy, the guy that everyone likes, he's the guy who two guys standing in a gas station doing Doing the the thing, thing. and there's a woman from pitch hairpin Sean hair hitch thing doing thing, George Clooney's and nine and a half weeks to get anywhere. I was way off about who's in nine and a half. That was Mickey Rorick? Yes. Did you guys say something already or Emily had to ask? Do you like contractually? Do you have to use the word thing for every other word? Do you have to say the guy doing a thing? Is that give to preface everything with that? Is that you say legally for doesn't know? Movies? I don't know what happens. Sometimes I know people's names and I'm like, I'm forgetting right now. I should know Paul. Roger, right? Yeah, that was the one that really. I was like Paul Rudd really? Yeah. No, I forgot. I'm forgetting his name now. He's in normally, you know, the names though. Normally she does summertime songs time, song, summertime, song. Right. Max relaxing. Oh, Bill Smith, sank you. All right. So he's going to do well, no, I'll just. Music, I would crush it all that was to explain one person. We're supposed to get a home movie, so go to YouTube, it's, you know, it's interesting when I do that. I'm like, oh, you know, the guy in the movie and then the guests. He keeps his Ardy used to it, but the guest will be like the bulk that they know they think that they just got the movie because I described what what other movie the character was in and right. They get so mad. They're like, no, I just got your movie. I'm like, I know that's just a side note. See it's for context to guests real movie. Yeah, I could see that being frustrating. Sort of frustrating. Like when you play games and you fucking pretend you're not being a smug prick, but you really are, but you go. You think even though she's the one read in the trailers, she's sabotaging us. So we. Yeah, she angers her when other people win. Meanwhile no-one can win. Lay time. I can't win. I win every time on these trailers all the time. They didn't get one right today. All right. So go to YouTube. Look, Keith in the girls subscribe hit that bell.
