CJ Stroud is, so he's going to have on Saturday on the on field drills on NFL network with Daniel Jeremiah, and yours truly in the booth. A clear runway. We'll let us be on the runway. The kid Richardson from Florida will be on the runway. But this is going to be a CJ Stroud, as you know, neck and neck with Bryce young conversation for the bears. And conversation for the league, if the bears are going to trade the pick because it should be Justin Fields as gig. He's proven it, and they can potentially get a kings ransom because if you look at the draft order, two teams in the same division are going for a quarterback this year and it's Houston and the team hosting the combine Indianapolis. You've got the Panthers in this mix. Can the Atlanta Falcons even be interested in something like that? Interesting. Well, the Raiders do. That's 7, 8 and 9. Todd mcshay has the Raiders going will levis of Kentucky. Yeah, they could wait right there and get him. I feel like. Adam Schefter saying the bears are open to trading this draft choice. And that know that they're leaning towards it or what have you and mentioned all those teams. It's on. It's on. It's combine week. It is on. You know what I have been saying. The bears need to make it seem like they're going to trade Justin Fields. It's entirely possible that period is over. I think it's going to go longer because at some point they will have Bryce youngin and they will have CJ Stroud in unless somebody comes at the combine after seeing Stroud on the field and in their interview room or seeing young in their interview room falling head over heels in love with this person. "I hear that. I don't hear that very often with white coaches. I hear that a lot with African Americans. Like, you know, he did an interview. Willie Randolph was former baseball player. I was told, you know, Willie just doesn't interview that well. Okay. After a while, you understand how to interview. You understand what the questions are, what they want when you go in there, but the fact that Eric Vienna may have to go to another team to prove that he can be a head coach at age 53. And I've said it before, not every coordinator deserves to be a head coach, or will be a good head coach. You might deserve, that's not fair. You might deserve it, but that doesn't mean you're good at it. I didn't think Charlie Weiss or Romeo Cornell were going to be good head coaches. They were good coordinators with the Patriots. I don't know if Josh McDaniels is a good head coach with the Raiders. But he was a good coordinator, a great coordinator with the Patriots. And Eric Vienna might not be a good head coach. But I think he deserves the opportunity to be a head coach. Jim Caldwell is another name. Jim Caldwell did a great job. Look at what he did in Detroit. Obviously what he did with the colts. He had a great team that he took over. Jim Caldwell is now Frank Reich's assistant coach in Carolina. He's not going to get a head coaching job again. What the Texans did with minority head coaches. Nobody wanted the job because they knew there were going to be sacrificial lambs. And that's what happened. Both of those coaches knew. I mean, lovey Smith ended up winning a game that they didn't want them to win. It's like, what are you doing? Well, he wants to win. He knows he's not going to keep the job. But I'd like to think and I'm going to give Lamar more credit than that to think that if considering legacy and on the line that he and his replaces, people don't talk about, but him and thinking about it with a chance to do something he hasn't done and get to a Super Bowl. I think he'd like to do it. I'm in the back of his mind. You don't want to get hurt, but I think he would have done it at the beginning, not the end. I think that he's probably just not fit and ready to play. You, of course, cover the Texans. They lost the number one pick. And we were wondering, in the moment, if you get the touchdown, now it's a fourth and 20. And you're going to go for a two point conversion. You're going to lose the number one overall pick. Now lovey Smith is trying to save his job and Davis mills is trying to save his job as the starting quarterback. I understand all those things. There you go, but I guess the thing I would say is, you know, you have Justin Herbert in that division who looks like he's going to be one of the four or 5 quarterbacks that really matter. You're going to have to explain him twice a year. It's going to be hard to be the team that's always the number one seed. Which is really if we're really asking you is going to make more RC championships. It's a chance to get to once again more often. Who's going to basically beat the algorithm and how it can get the one seed in enough times more than the other team that they have the advantage to get there. I just think mahomes is better. I also think that the way that they built this team, this off season with the tyrese trade, they're setting it up for the next ten years. The whole point was that this was supposed to be something they're building for the future. That was the rationale that I came up with after my emotional response was we've seen Patrick Mahomes and the chiefs remade post big contract post Tyree kill and still have success. We've yet to see that out of Cincinnati, but you gave me another argument is the division. While you say the AFC north is easier, nah, we got the chiefs in the ravens. I was giving out the chiefs. And the chief, so her Edwards had Chad Pennington and Vinny testaverde and then with the chiefs. Who had their moments? They had their bumps. Yeah, they had the moments with the chiefs, I believe it was brodie croyle. Wow. That's a pull. That's a deep pull. Leslie Frazier, who had Christian ponder and I believe that team was so bad at the quarterback position. That was you have Adrian Peterson just ran for like 9000 yards and they snuck in as a wild card in the playoffs and I think like Joe Webb had to start a game as like a quarterback but he was like a receiver hybrid at that point so yeah, I mean and Brian Flores who to a tongue of iloa and they pushed him out in part because he maybe recognized that he wasn't a good quarterback and he could not agree to sign Tom Brady on a yacht and so here we are. Which always wink and sign Tom Brady on a yacht. Like if you can do that if you're ever offered that opportunity. And had the only staff, I believe, outside of the Lions last year. Where all of the top basically ten stakeholders were coaches of color. Now that Todd Bowles has taken over for Bruce Arians, it brings the total to 6. Coaches of color, which is more than double. I mean, you know, we had some lean years here recently. Do you think that and again, the number is not what we're looking for. I've heard coaches say this over and over again, right? It's opportunity. Do you think that this does anything to repair some of the damage that has been done over the last two or three years?.

"NFL is now requiring every team to have a minority coach in a key offensive role. According to the NFL, turns out that recently the head coaches in the NFL have come from the offensive side of the ball and there is in the view of the NFL and insufficient number of minorities occupying these kinds of positions. Aside from the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, there is one other black coach, his name is lovey Smith, Texans just hired him. And the dolphins hired a man named Mike mcdaniel, who is biracial, one of his parents, it's white, one of his parents is black. And the NFL has now an equity measure to require each team to have a minority assistant coach. In a significant role on its offensive staff.

Yeah yeah they dropped a bunch of other charges so that he would plead this and there wasn't any evidence presented at court. It was just pleadings back and forth. It was a lot it was live. Yeah now. He had a. It's three years supervised probation arrested tuition to the victim of one thousand forty two dollars and seventeen cents that his her earnings that he took like restitution is like you're making someone whole you're paying somebody back for the damage. You cause dumb. Well that's not a very good prostitute or he could fail. I don't know which one That brings us to another. Follow up on a concern with lovey smith. I just looking to the is it a young man that i work with and as chasing dreams and and trying to make life better for themselves and their family in understanding that if we do our jobs and prepare them and set them up for is significant. There's nothing better than watching a guy you work with live out. His dreams mandate is secure financial security for himself and his family and change the course of generate of life for generations to come. We all been in it long enough now that we can see it in cold. You know Desk that's why we get down like that. That's why we that's why we bring it all on a day to day basis at work because we expect them guys who do the same thing. We want to honor them with urgency of work. That's why you see the response from both these guys. Peter that they get from their players consistently year in and year out. You can't fake that. And they feel it and i always say those who know no and the the players that are in the building working with these guys the coaches on a day-to-day basis. You can't fake it. They see it.
