"Record absolving back from October. Which is the monthly started? So those are I I race. Right there we We stated that record in didn't break it until few days ago. Yau's mid mid October late. October even was either a first slater's first weekend that we trust the province kicked off and then since then now the wind plays show inexact attract records of all been breaking here and there most more January February this year. That one was the oldest us cool we need to. We needed that one yeah. We went seven ten that day to seven. Wins out of ten races with our three exact the box. Three hundred box and today The Day Sunday the twenty second. We played Gulfstream one five nine on that one for eighty two percent. Our ally had a couple of good wins. They're talking with a couple of major hits. It would just changed up how we as the formula along the way as well to to. Gut Ryan was just GonNa say just to touch on that. It's now March. Twenty second and at this point in the monk we are cruising right about as close to zero percent our allies. You can be which is To be honest with you somewhat disappointing but but in all honesty it's probably it is our our best month to date with. The woman was those bar and it's showing progress and the bigger news is that We are continuing to to get better. You can see it. I mean I go into these these slates with a lot more confidence than six three weeks ago and it's Just got four hundred. Some facebook followers down. It's good to see people are wanting wanting information in playing with us. Let's get to seize with our ability to get get more successful marks bar. Yeah in between those two slates. We had a couple down a couple down. Slates which is why we wanted to make adjustments to the formula to make sure that were You know limiting the valleys and trying to maintain the peaks that were seen to get to that positive Roi. Yeah one of the verdict. One of the adjustments you made today. I know the formula made a big adjustment in a race. That was direct impact today. That was the biggest payout of the day. Had Forty forty some dollars. Exact too bad route. Pay ON ONE DOLLARS. monster and It it wouldn't have one yesterday one today because of changing mates look. We're doing here so early dividends. Let's hope it keeps going a? Let's just open to the Derby season contenders. Now I I offer but he knows by now the the Derby has been postponed until September fifth leaving touched on before. They're looking to keep the triple crown intact. And I think they'll make that happen and they're hideous they don't let's be honest because they're only cheating the sport in general they don't not just the horses the owners connections everything else shooting sport. Because that's what I mean unless your dealing snob late late we are. Let's be honest. The the the the fringe fan of this game listens to the Kentucky Derby a maybe the triple crown and maybe the breeders go. But it's definitely derby in the triple grounded if you're a fringe fan. I think it's a huge mistake to let the triple crown. Go Away unless you know. Obviously if the corona stuff continues for too long to make it happen the nets a different story. But yeah to me it's idiotic to not at least try to keep the triple crown intact. Keep it intact and also keep it attended to. They could definitely be running a lot of these raises like the one. You're planning to go to in Keeneland by. Yeah I think I think the big thing here Kinda Kinda like. We touched on earlier for a lot of the small races. We can still keep horse racing alive keep people interested but for the big races. You WanNa make sure that you keep intact the the thing that goes on around that right the whole loss for the party in the atmosphere the attendance the Kentucky.

"Of that thing and I don't know I don't know what to make that I have more questions than answers after that race. To be honest with you I mean we knew wells by you. Modernist and enforceable or by the ones to watch and enforceable pretty much should the bed wells by. You was good enough to win. What kinda seemed like a kind of a blond race? The honest surgery in modernist was close. But I don't think any of these guys are GONNA be impact of. We'll go through that the top twenty five list as we go through the top twenty five minutes now or go on. What are we doing yes or we just just going over last week. The other When we hit on Saint Patrick's Day look the Irish for us Sam Houston we had one hundred and forty percents. Roi That our new record one point seven if we're going to get critically and that was the oldest standing record I think I posted the new records up on the facebook page of not all running back again. This guy had some serious illness issues as we know it wasn't corona but definitely vote like it might have been a couple of days. There's been down and out a little bit on. "He said with enforceable I mean he probably is the most likely winner in this spot. I just some about it was like I had him on top for once. I really don't WanNa play the source at three to one or five to two but if something happens and the betting is weird and with a fourteen horse field in a lot of quote unquote wiseguy. Type Horses maybe. I'm off and maybe he goes off at four five to one and then I think he's like really intriguing indefinitely worth apply. Yeah it'd be interesting to see how the bedding in this race goes down. Let's say since we'RE SITTING IN I. I've done this a lot in the past races but even more interesting now. Considering we're many months away from the Kentucky Derby now so much can happen. Obviously but is there anyone in here because it's not exact- I mean look at forcible ran his top buyers and eighty nine what it mean you know Charlotte and Raleigh get like a one. Oh five or six. So so. That's what I mean. So it's like I'm trying to smooth way to this so it's like basically say which one of these wars is eighties? Wars has really like. Yeah I could see like a summer could really do this a lot of good and could really get worse being because no matter what there's at least a couple that are going to be in this out of this race center enforce was already got the points. A modernist has the points. So there's going to be worse is going to be ready to take you know what maybe they developed. They'll they'll be. I'll take it a little more serious. I see a lot of Lake West. Virginia Derby Horses Indiana if they have at Derby Horses Iowa Derby Horses. You know I see those kinds. I don't see a lot of like prime time. Top horses in the crop lockin change between now and the first Saturday in September. But I don't see a lot of top end horses. Which is why taking a horse like wells by you to win. Because I don't think he's a top horse either really but maybe he could be the best of Cavin average group. I respect enforceable because of his consistency. So like could he hit the board at like thirty. Two one in the travers. Down the road somewhere maybe. Or maybe maybe he doesn't go off at thirty one. But maybe he's twelve to one and he beats a couple of horses that pry shouldn't just because he's alter consistent he's going to show up with an effort so I have a lottery SPEC forum. I think though that he's a derby winner well he doesn't really have the style to Derby winner. Either you know those sources that come from the clouds we know can sometimes wins races like this but when it comes to the Kentucky area you gotTa be a little bit closer to the pace and speed Wednesdays races and I just can't imagine you know enforceable being able to run down you know Charlton for that for example that we just made so that seems like a little bit of a silly silly thought. Doesn't it I think of that in my mind in September? I think if we have to wait until September to see that happen then yeah that would be just just cancel the damn thing so I'm on I'm on number ten enforceable you are on number three wells by time for five or seven by Naruebet Akwa may be closed but it doesn't mean you can't bet with her beds no matter what. I've I've <Speech_Music_Male> loved throughout <Speech_Music_Male> their careers but <Speech_Music_Male> just some Hebrew. I don't <Speech_Music_Male> know if it works for them <Speech_Male> modernist. If you had <Speech_Male> a better post I <Speech_Music_Male> probably <Speech_Music_Male> be a lot of depicting <Speech_Music_Male> so <Speech_Music_Male> But he's drawing <Speech_Music_Male> way up in fourteen <Speech_Music_Male> you'll <Speech_Music_Male> mountains and worried <Speech_Music_Male> about it but I'm worried about <Speech_Music_Male> it. I think you <Speech_Music_Male> combine that with the fact. <Speech_Music_Male> There's some kids speed <Speech_Male> horses in this race. <Speech_Male> It just doesn't seem <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> like it's GonNa <Speech_Music_Male> work out for him <Speech_Music_Male> There there <Speech_Music_Male> were sincere. That seem like <Speech_Music_Male> they're going to go forward. <Speech_Music_Male> And try to battle for <Speech_Male> the lead long shot <Speech_Music_Male> five social fleet <Speech_Music_Male> with wells by <Speech_Music_Male> you to three and <Speech_Male> traffic and <Speech_Music_Male> modernists and <Speech_Music_Male> to me. That sounds like <Speech_Music_Male> it could come up with <Speech_Music_Male> a pretty hot <Speech_Music_Male> pays especially with <Speech_Music_Male> the right horses. <Speech_Music_Male> Kinda going up and pressing <Speech_Music_Male> it. I'll <Speech_Music_Male> do need a horse. That's coming <Speech_Music_Male> from the meat. Pack <Speech_Male> to win this risen. <Speech_Music_Male> Get the right trip. <Speech_Music_Male> I think that <Speech_Music_Male> <hes> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> Ron Wind chill in <Speech_Music_Male> regards. GonNa <Speech_Music_Male> Double Up the stakes <Speech_Music_Male> here in when it was sober <Speech_Male> state. I <Speech_Male> disliked this horse. <Speech_Male> I think that <Speech_Music_Male> he he's <Speech_Music_Male> put together to really <Speech_Male> impressive preps <Speech_Music_Male> and <Speech_Music_Male> indeed because he's drawn <Speech_Music_Male> outside of enforceable. <Speech_Male> He's going <Speech_Music_Male> to be able to get the jump <Speech_Music_Male> on if the race <Speech_Male> sheets right debts <Speech_Music_Male> gambling playing <Speech_Music_Male> in both. <Speech_Male> Akam <Speech_Male> star of <Speech_Music_Male> enforceable <Speech_Music_Male> got the jump <Speech_Male> on Silverstein and <Speech_Male> as a result <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> enforceable was <Speech_Music_Male> able to finish better <Speech_Music_Male> than silver street and they were <Speech_Music_Male> running late. <Speech_Music_Male> I just think that this race <Speech_Music_Male> sets up. I think <Speech_Music_Male> that's probably <Speech_Music_Male> on Silverstein and <Speech_Male> as a result <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> enforceable was <Speech_Music_Male> able to finish better <Speech_Music_Male> than silver street and they were <Speech_Music_Male> running late. <Speech_Music_Male> I just think that this race <Speech_Music_Male> sets up. I think <Speech_Music_Male> that's probably <Speech_Music_Male> learned from his <Speech_Music_Male> eighteen. Can Santana <Speech_Music_Male> saying his horse a little <Speech_Music_Male> earlier <Speech_Music_Male> I speaks overseas <Speech_Male> gonNA get home <Speech_Music_Male> in ultimately <Speech_Music_Male> get the job <Speech_Music_Male> on enforceable in <Speech_Music_Male> when I think both of those are <Speech_Music_Male> going to run really big races. <Speech_Music_Male> I think <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> the one major Ted <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> is going to get really disrespected. <Speech_Male> But <Speech_Male> he ran into huge <Speech_Music_Male> second <Speech_Music_Male> His division of <Speech_Music_Male> the risen star last <Speech_Music_Male> time out. And <Speech_Music_Male> he's going to probably get <Speech_Music_Male> a solid trip. Even though <Speech_Music_Male> we've drawn down at the <Speech_Music_Male> rail I <Speech_Music_Male> think he's GonNa come running. <Speech_Music_Male> For Sheriff <Speech_Music_Male> Is a massive <Speech_Music_Male> pick up there <Speech_Music_Male> and I think modern is <Speech_Music_Male> just going to run bank. <Speech_Music_Male> I just don't think he's <Speech_Music_Male> going to have enough in the tank <Speech_Music_Male> to <Speech_Music_Male> cover. That's one big <Speech_Music_Male> thing. I think a lot of people <Speech_Music_Male> are realizing that this <Speech_Male> mile and three sixteenths. <Speech_Music_Male> It's <Speech_Music_Male> it's longer than the <Speech_Music_Male> than the Louisiana <Speech_Music_Male> Derby has been in the past. <Speech_Music_Male> It's <Speech_Music_Male> going to be talented <Speech_Music_Male> especially for <Speech_Male> horses. That <Speech_Male> are trying to carry <Speech_Male> their speed. That's one of <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> the reasons. I don't <Speech_Music_Male> like wells by <Speech_Music_Male> you. Who <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> probably <Speech_Male> give him a little bit more <Speech_Male> more credit <Speech_Music_Male> because he's stretching <Speech_Music_Male> out from where <Speech_Male> he was at his last <Speech_Music_Male> race. I don't <Speech_Music_Male> think he can do it. I think <Speech_Music_Male> the race in <Speech_Music_Male> the distance at the really <Speech_Music_Male> well for silver overstates <Speech_Music_Male> almond. "She's this he's just secure your to disprove. I think you know there are some other talented horses in this race but the race. There's nothing horses for racing to really affect her. It is going to be an easy way and I imagine unless she's off in some way that's the only reason she'd lose by shopping journey to run a big price to complete an exact exhorts and moving onto the final race. Louisiana Derby another wide open field. But there's some there's some good horses at the top. It's not a top heavy race but there's some some flashy horses top Eric. Eric spotted that he picked out of his maiden modernist is going to come back off that win. In the fair in the risen star stakes got enforceable. Who WAS SECOND BEHIND MR? Mono who has since been taken off the Derbyshire hit has is off the drill as opposed to maybe who knows he could come back now that the Kentucky Derby since September but for the moment and Mister Manos on the shelf enforceable is back. You also got a major fed who was second behind modernist. And you've got some other horses that looked to made noise in in the risen star. So she got mailman money Another one of the Calhoun horses. You've got royal actors coming back coming in from California off a second in the Robert Louis. probably Peter Earns idea to get away from the the loaded. Baffert's down California. You've also got Lynn's map mister. Big News the other two Brad Cox worse or excuse me Bret. Calhoun horses Then you also have. The St Bassin's got his entry with silver state and the big flash horse gesture town that a lot of people have been talking about a lot of people excited about. Chester town has yet to put it together with a major victory. But there's still a lot of excitement around Chester town and also Brad Cox does have wells by you coming in from the South West so why I don't WanNa to call it wide open but a very talented Louisiana Derby but there are there are some good horses at the top so it's not top heavy it's talented field and there's a lot of resilience that got that have a chance to win the Super Deep Group.

"In this race to kind of watch out for. Don't wait rocket One stage at the fairgrounds eating Abney January Dominatrix has always been consisted. Brad Cox the one horse before rock emperor has not ran since last September. The Jockey Club Derby where run well but starts back. He's American. Dave Uber Tag Brown Iran. Third in the Belmont your so. He a has talent. We just haven't seen him in a while. Don't know this distance it up his alley but won't be there and then obviously the twelve synchrony. He loves the FAIRGROUNDS. Four per six over that track Does she drive every time he runs her? I just think that the peace isn't going to set up for himself on the Golan. Still regard on top factored is for second. I do secrity. Even though the pace of won't set up for bill come running late but not enough to one's still regard the six on top league and a perfect union memorial staying with the older division older divisions will we'll swap over the dirt main track now and take a look at the New Orleans classic another field. It's wide open Interesting coming in this spot off a long layoff is by my standard to was eleven in the Kentucky. Derby last May a lot of people including me thought that he would run a lot better than that but by my standards looks to get back to the form that he showed in the Louisiana Derby. That was a very good win Going back all the way to March of two thousand nineteen but that was a good win by him other words about tenfold is coming back office six in the Pegasus World Cup. Not really the greatest performance from him You've got sauter who who has not run since the Brooklyn Invitational and then other horses that are not necessarily from the company but you got fearless up from the top Pletcher Bar who won an allowance race at Gulfstream on the first February and then also a some other horses silver dust. One one. The great three mineshaft Also captivating moons from that mineshaft also have loan sale from the timing bar so like I mentioned this this a wide open field but by my standards is off a big off a big layoff so that would be one that would hold me back from saying that by my standards would be a big favourite in this spot. Not that any force in this field capable being a big favourite. But that's that's made this a wide open field. The most important thing to realize about.

With a with how the pace of the race set-up and I did say that the horse of front that if the pace set of well enough for a horse I was going to be near the week that died it was gonna be nine out so once again money. Give myself of credit for that but yeah loud and Fox and bank didn't really get anything to run out of. I mean snappers and clear. Went out and set the pace. Pioneers go with them and neither did of Bravado and night ops took back so it was just a lot of you know really was best jockey was going to win this race whoever road or the best and unfortunately outcasts blonde laughing Fox and a Ricardo Santana junior on. Thank you both kind of got the short end of the stick their they both Kinda made moves prematurely to in my opinion in your castle put in really close to the league closer than usually would be Latin Fox and sent him way too early But Joe Talamo I mean what can we say ever since he moved out to to to the mid west of this Oakland the Hobie staying in the Mid West from here on out? None of the closures relieving came running a kind of disappointed in the runs of both street band and Lee Apple other definitely shown better before so. I have to know about those back right now. Share getting definitely use of one of the leaders in the clubhouse for this distaff division and that is one thing that I I will say about surrogate for since one of the surest bet. You can make an racing when Sarah getting empress goes to the front light and she obviously different circumstances in the Kentucky Oaks but she went right to the front. No one was anywhere near her. She won that wire-to-wire when surrogate empress is alone on the front end. Good luck beating her and you know people are people might have forgotten about that but once you once you see that you gotta remember that once you leave that words alone. "I need the right decision at the end of the day is I mean obviously could've moved to June but we honestly don't know what would what what it all means at this point so hopefully hopefully horses stay healthy people stay healthy cleaner be that. That's really the point that I'll echo that as well that you know alternately. I don't love that had happened. But it's the right decision to to give the the best of pro prospects of being of Kentucky Derby because. I'm sure that that is something that no one wants to have is a Kentucky Derby a year without a Kentucky Derby the longest running continuous sporting event in the United States. That that's not something that I think anyone would like to see lost. I do also want to mention. I forgot to mention this There will be no cylinder in there will be no April. Keeneland needs so. That's very disappointing. I Know Eric specifically disappointed from that. He was going to go out to Keeneland for for us and do do some stuff. There's unfortunately that's not gonNA happen But there but as I mentioned their tracks are still going on the fairgrounds to said they're going to finish out their meat Gulfstream GOLF SHIRT GOING TO RACY STILL MARYLAND. Nairas keeping going so while there are some tracks that are not having having racing anymore The vast majority of them are still going to keep going on Oakland did say they might move the Arkansas Derby. But they're still they're still going to continue so there's a lot of tracks it will still keep on on so that that's obviously good news Speaking of Fairgrounds ARE. There are some notable six. We gotta get to but first. Let's look back at the stuff that happened. The past weekend in one specific thing that I know Eric and I were really really excited about was the rebel stakes weekend featuring the comebacker the of what might end up being Bob Baffert best three-year-old. I know you've got a loaded barn right now but that run by. Nidal in the rebel stakes was there. Were not enough words. That could could describe how very how awesome performance out was set. I don't like to throw the awesome word around very much but that was that was something else. Adult had to deal with tall very fast paced. He got pressed early and he had every excuse. He had every reason not to win that race and he held on to win that race and he may. He made me believe that I believe in him. Because I was not a person that was very hot interested. I was very hot. Wasn't very high doll. But after that Nidal looks like a sure thing Derby contender going into that with the Kentucky Derby being in September Nidal. "All right here we go. We're back episode number fifty two amid a ton of chaos going on in the racing industry. I don't think I e to to mention all the stuff that's going on going on in the world obviously with the cove nineteen outbreaks and all that We knew it was going to get to horse racing at some point and unfortunately I did take away the Kentucky Derby. If you've heard the Kentucky Derby has been postponed from May the first Saturday in. May All the way to September. The first time in seventy five years. I think it is seventy five or seventy six years That the Kentucky Derby will not be held on the first Saturday in May so obviously. That's unique circumstances. I you know I was talking to Erik a little bit before this in you know regardless of what we think of the decision. It's a moot point. I think both of us would agree and I'm sure there's a lot of other people who will echo this sentiment. It seems like that the reason the Kentucky Derby was pushed back to September was to allow the most opportunity to have spectators in this. And I understand that the desire of Churchill to be able to have spectators at the Kentucky Derby but I felt like that me and several other people And I'm sure Eric and I are not the only other an the other people that have weighed in with this with me on. This privately are not the only people who share that sentiment of you know that this is going to have a bit of a detriment on not just not not just the Kentucky Derby itself but with you know it's going to screw up a lot of things with the horsemen and they're racing schedule. It's also going to mess up other tracks. 'cause attracts are going to have to plan their races around. Having the Kentucky Derby tracks thought they could have races at some point are now going to have to figure out a whether there'll be a have those and if they do have them when they'll be pushed at one specific example I can think of is the Pennsylvania Derby which falls on either the third of the fourth weekend of September. I believe it it. It's Around the third week week of September so but a race like that grade one race for three year olds at is. Was you previously the only grade one race for three year olds in the month of September? Now the Kentucky Derby and subsequently the preakness have been moves to September. So parks is attractive. Can Ask himself whether or not they WANNA have that race and if so when they're going to have it and that's obviously one specific example but There's multiple multiple other tracks that are going to have to plan their racing seasons now around the prospect of not having horses that they could have assumed they would have gotten after the Kentucky Derby..

"Back to the studio time for our best bet segment here on out of the gate Craig. Milk Hausky is found something oaklawn Park. He's found a one one closer at a race jammed with pace. My best bet is gonNA come from the Gazebo stakes. Run at oaklawn on Saturday. It's a race. It drew a solid field of eight. And there's just a ton of speed in this race so I went looking for a horse who glades to come from off the pace and that was actually kinda hard to find but I eventually settled on Lichen. He's a horse who showed some a lot of speed early on in his career. He was one that liked the race. Upright on the that's how he broke his maiden but as of late he's a horse who has shown a new dimension he's able to come from all fat piece his forms a little dark indie had a couple races two and three races back where he had absolutely no pace in the race and just wasn't able to get much of a run in but his last race was impressive. He'd be down horse named Tuggle. Who's a PR- another promising for your old sprinter? He showed some really good form as a two year old. And I just think this race sets off welfare like in his one eleven time form. Us speed figures very competitive in this field and he's GonNa offer some value eight the one on the morning line so once again. My best bet is like in in the Gazebo stakes. At oaklawn part I had a call a little bit of a late audible here For my best bet with racing suspended in New York I'm GonNa go to the fairgrounds on the undercard of the Louisiana Derby and go to a horse on the turf in a little hundred thousand dollar stakes race winning envelope. This is a affiliate who is a closer As such she really needs trips in her races she's been on walkie more than once but when she gets a trip she can really run a replay of her most recent rates. This is at Sam Houston in the Jersey Lilly steaks and she got a trip this day at the back of the pack but if things are going to open up for her right here at the top of the stretch she gets clear between horses and she's going to fire a good one here to run right over. Dream passage on the dream passages also back in this race and she's a dangerous horse when she can get loose on the lead. Winning enveloped. Oh can really run when she can work out a trip in a hurry. She's ninety two on the line in this race than I realized. It's a tougher spot for her. But I'm just GONNA expect her to come right back at one. Another good wife. She if she can get clear on the stretch. My best bet on Saturdays Laurel race number ten for five. 'cause I'm edgy. Qasem edges won two out of her last three starts. We'll go back to her most recent race which he really looked strong on the lead she was able to control the pace but as they turn into the stretch her ears are pricked once Julian ask SORTA run. She is willing and able to draw away from this field. Strong Eighty Four. Beyer speed figure. She draws outside the other seeds on Saturday and I think she's just going to sit a nice three wide tracking trip in the clear ready to pounce the morning line favorite on Saturday is returning off of a lengthy lay-off and might be vulnerable first time back. 'cause I'm edgy. At around five to two second. Joyce might be worth the gamble in race number ten at Laurel. That's the number five. "Daily Racing Forbes. Weekend handicapping preview program. I'm your host stand elman. Thanks for watching. Here's what's coming up in this week's edition of out of the gate. Daily racing form handicappers. Mike Beer credible cousy and I will take a look at three major graded stakes the country Louisiana Derby at a mile and three sixteenths for three-year-olds the Muniz memorial also at the fairgrounds but that race for older horses on the turf and the San Louis Ray going a mile and a half on the lawn act Santa Anita Nicole Russo as a pedigree pick segment for you and David Aragona of time for the. Us East spotlights the big race of the fairgrounds the Louisiana Derby plus worsest watching best bats. So let's break out of the gate out of the gate with our horse. Watch segment pregnancy counseling course to watch this week. Well he didn't really run very well last time out. But I think Craig might have found a silver lining my horse watch. This week is going to be silver prospector. He ran a disappointing six in the rebel stakes at oaklawn on Saturday. But I think the racist better than it looks on paper I I want to take a look at his. Pp's going into that race on Saturday. Where he had glass won the southwest stakes. You'll notice that I have lined through his recent smarty dunes. I think the conditions that day the track the pace of the race decimated a total throw out and he really rebounded nicely where he ran a nice one eighteen time form. Us speed figure. And I think he was a worthy second choice for the rebel but when you watch a replay for that race a couple of things stand out to me. The first one is how he made a big move into a hot piece on the backstretch he was able to gain almost five lengths on the leader. Got Up right in behind the Dow and was able to hold that position well into the stretch however when he got into the stretch. That's where things really went wrong The trouble wine is listed. It shows that there was slight trouble. But if you watch this replay you can see the Horse. Really Kinda just gives it up. After he gets blocked he kinda gets caught in a blind switch where he just has nowhere to go. And the jockey doesn't really persevere with him so going forward. I fully expect to see the the silver prospect of that we saw in the southwest stakes. Much I think that's much more likely than finish. We saw when the rebel so so over prospect or my horse. Watch turns out the last race that they ran at acqueduct on Sunday the fifteenth. It's going to be the last day ran there in a while. My horse to watch ran in that race. The finale on Sunday the fifteenth is a first time starter named Gandhi Dancing He's a three year old. Who's trained by Chad Brown on was purchased as a yearling for over two hundred thousand dollars and he has a nice pedigree by flatter. This is a female family that traces back to some really good. Phipps horses like furlough fantastic find finders fee. All grade one winners So this source has the pedigree of backup debut. They took some money. We'll look at the replay of it right now. He was just ready to go. First time out. He sat a nice trip track and just behind the leaders of seeing here at the top of the stretch. They took them out to the clear. And he's just GonNa roll right by this. This was a really nice debut for this horse. He is eventually going to win off at the end of this race. And he's GonNa score by over six lancs. The buyer came back. A solid seventy to a newly turned three year old the source. I might have forward to go for Chad Brown in the New York. Brad ranks at least that he's not even better than that on really promising. Bayview there for Gandhi Dancing Swatch debuted at Golden Gate fields on February. The twenty eighth in Race Number Three. His name is big. Perm is gilded son of noble mission and of the stakes winning turf Mare lateen bell. Let's take a look at the start of big perms debut going six furlongs on the Topeka surpised was very conservatively written while inbetween horses. The pace is not fast and he's just in between the. Jackie seems reluctant to really go on with it. And we'll eventually pick it up on the turn and big permits in behind horses with really no place to go and he just has a lot of work to do. It will eventually be steadied out. From Inbetween is forced to extremely wide into the stretch so wide as a matter of fact that he's going to be out of the picture and you don't know if he's even going to get a piece of this in the stretch or we'll see in the last sixteenth of a mile big perm really kick in. He will rally stoutly to finish second only beaten a half length gallops out beautifully after the race and to me. This is the kind of horse that I was prepping. For something going long or either to turn mile on synthetic on the turf that was a twenty five thousand dollar made in Kleber and that just seems like the right spot for big perm a fourteen thousand dollar yearling purchase. Let's get to some handicapping. The Louisiana Derby is.

"I absolutely think can't run fifth so I'm GonNa just completely those off of my ticket but horses like mailman money horses like major fed. Porto's maybe I'll try and work away. Just see how the port shakes out. Maybe you silver state and wells by you on top of forces like that like you said if the price is there for me wells by for sure Then I would say major fed. I think with that kind of breeding and down on the rail and Joel There's enough upside the eight to one Definitely WanNa be live to him on the pick four and then I mean after after that. It's it's definitely watch those exact a will pays for me and just see where you know what what. Horses getting overlooked You know I I don't love saying enforceable is the favorite is a play but at the same time if you know sharecroppers thirty two one You know I wanNA have a a ten seven actor you know as an example even if it came that so it's really interesting race because there's there's a bunch I'm willing to use and then some like you said. I have absolutely zero interest in Chester town. Being one of them and David Air Gorna Handicapper I really respect in New York. Who DOES THE MORNING LINE FOR NYRA And I don't know if he asks cause he liked the horse and he doesn't want them to be the wise guy he's like us and doesn't understand why he would be the wiseguy horse but he seems to think this horse might take a little money. I welcome it won't be mine But you know that's part of the puzzle and If you can hit the super it's gotTa pay huge right. I mean fourteen. Horses go absolutely and expand its fourteen horses With a seven or eight of them that all are very evenly matched As far as time goes I'm not I kind of had the same. I have that Tinley feeling that they've gone ahead as well. I think that he's a two million dollar purchase. You see Asmussen you see Johnny v You know it's it's Kinda that sneaky like Not even wise guy. 'cause you're not very wise if you're if you're leaning here but it's more it's more of that you know it's flashy it's asked me and it's johnny two million dollars. It's a kind of upset. It's like the you know the the underdog here. He was fifteen to one on the morning line but he's a big beautiful gray tap. It horse these I. I could see this horse being somewhere under that. Fifteen one whether or not I think that's a good choice. That's up to you but I'm not gonNA use gesture town. Most were Dale. Romans running his mouth instead of the Reserves to gas seventy two but he rose point he right point as this one which Steve last question so there's four horses who are twenty two one or higher on the morning line. Social Fleet sharecropper Lind's met mister big news who is on the ad but let's assume he said Of those four. Who's your perfect a crash or of the the bon-bons bombs. Oh man that's a good question that is out of left field but I like it. I think I think honestly if if I'm GONNA use just one it's going to be. Lens Matt Thirty. Two one morning line Say going into the LECOMPTE which ended up scratching out of Talking to David Carroll on the in in the born he had a lot of very positive things to say about Lynn's map and you know a lot of these trainers obviously have a lot of good things to say about these horses there. Derby Hopefuls. Every trainer is hoping that there the next next. Derby winner but I think that David Caruana the most sincere guys. I'm sure you know but one of the most sincere guys you'll ever meet On the backside and he had a lot of really good things to say about Lens Map. I think that the horse has had some unfortunate trips for fourth place. I'd be using to use them at but don't get this. He'd have to be at least thirty. Two one right. Yeah sharecropper for me at a big price You know maybe improves off the maiden win at Churchill You know the allowances was useful enough but again that's just looking for a price to really spice things up if sharecroppers in the top four by no means assume that I hit it But that is. That is the one that's Sorta definitely WANNA use with the horses. I really liked but chester towns in their. Forget about it Grant really appreciate it. Good discussion deep dive into the field. any spot plays on the UNDERCARD. I think that In the classic in the New Orleans Classic By my standards is six to one on the morning line. You're I mean there's I don't see any world where he goes off at six to one but like I've told people that Around this week This horse I saw him here for the Louisiana Derby last year and obviously winning last years Louisiana Derby and he looked good. He was a nice three year old and trainer Bret Calhoun. We'll tell you the same thing but when that horse walked into the Paddock before his allowance when making his return this year a couple of months ago you wouldn't recognize. I mean Ha. You should've seen everyone in the paddock. Was out there. Asking who what happened to this source? Because he's a completely different animal he's matured. I mean both mentally and physically. He just looks like a completely different horse and Talking to Kowloon earlier in the week he believes that he could be one of the top for Older dirt horses in the country this year and I think the same thing so anything over two to one on by my standards even with over dozen there I just think by my standards is going to be an absolute three love it. Yeah I'm I'm a big Fan Obviously somewhat biased. Picked him in the Derby. So Andy capper. Psychology somewhat feel vindicated when horses like that come back and run well but I just thought it was Louisiana Derby which had no part of in any way shape or form it. Twenty two to one Was was a good race. It came back fast on Bris net. A Horse who's going the right way and then The the Derby just wasn't as day in that week. I know there were some issues as well so Glad to see this one back at top form and I'm excited for him to and It was exciting having you on. Thanks again grant thanks. I appreciate. It was fun. All right. So Grant Legrand everyone He is on the paddock. Showdown at fairgrounds along with Joe Christopher back and not only that but does some great work for the social media side of things down there behind the scenes stuff with trainers and just a lot of good info so make sure to check that out. Is We wind toward the twin spires Louisiana Derby million dollar race Saturday. It's going to be on NBC sports. Of course you can bet it at twin spires Florida Derby next week. This has been the Horse. Racing horse.

"And then had okay whether it's finished third only three and three quarters links but I'm not sure how strong that race is going to be going forward so at fifteen the one. This horse is going to be my third. Pick at six eight to one Maybe using some super factors. Maybe don't even use it all in the in the multi-race yeah we're in agreement there The sister how to horseracing podcast. And if the bet were showed up for my life in this race Enforceable would probably be the one echo with others faster But just looking at the trip in the style of racy runs. I do think he's the most likely to hit the board. Unfortunately he's also the morning line favorite is somewhat of a name He does have my favorite jockey on no so we'll see if I can overcome that bias. Actually get the Wallet Out Some thanks to like. But you can't take the favorite in a race like this right you can. If it's going to be the bet of your life at the row said well then yeah but I mean you just you you champion you better knock on some wood here shortly. I hope you have a wooded nearby. Because whoever's betting on enforceable just their ears pricked but for me enforceable obviously the winner of the Lecomte here Taking the first leg the rhythm store I thought was a really good race Close from way out of it kind of had a little bit of a rough trip turning for home and still showed his closing round. He's this is a tablet three year old. And we've seen it time and time again I mean even thinking early on the card. We'll get to see silver dust. Who almost took them four and a half years to figure out how to be a horse you know so sometimes these tap. It's they take some time to mature. They take them. Some time to figure things out. There always hotheaded. Enforceable seems to be turning the corner now in right now is the best time to be turning a corner obviously That last race the risen star I thought was really good. The ninety three percents. Beat figure. If you'RE GONNA look to a race it's the re Lecomte That ninety four. Let's figure I just think that this horse is getting better Like I said being a three year old out of tap it sometimes. It takes a little while for them to turn the corner and right now. It's he seems to be doing just that. I'M NOT GONNA pick them on top but if you're willing to bet they Us The your lifetime show on him. I'm going to be using them in third all right. Quick shout out to his damn. Just whistle Dixie He's the fourth full out of her to race. And they've all been graded stakes winners so Not looks like five foals all winners including for green stakes winner so very impressive by her Night traffic is the only other e Type. So this is the one that might keep wells by busy But by cross traffic out of Graham Hong. They're probably going to be looking for the taxi. Stand at the quarter pole if not earlier and has the The added negative of the outside post To chase wells by you some things to like maybe out of this race. If you WANNA give a Mulligan But seems like things are conspiring against With with his running style. Yeah TOUGH TO USE ON. The blinkers go. Back on the source for blinkers on debut at parks. They haven't been back on sense so I think connections are kind of just trying to shake it up a little bit. May I think they know that they're Kinda in for it in the spot and maybe just WANNA play? Put blinkers on and hope that He wakes up a little bit down the stretch. But like for all the reasons you just mentioned drawn in the eleven whole There's some speeches inside. He's most likely going to be chasing the early pace. And he's never shown the ability to sit off of it and passed horses each fifteen to one on the morning line. I'm not going to be using him anywhere. But if this horse goes off something crazy like thirty or thirty five to one. I'd certainly be willing to use in the three or four spot. Yeah maybe just sticks around that price could could get behind nats Lynn's map seem to be a wise Guy Horace going into the Lecompte and they scratched when they drew the outside votes. And then somehow it just five point six to one a week later I definitely thought he would take more money so not so much. A Wise Guy. Horse IN HOT SPRINGS PRESS. The pace in faded then tried to close In the risen star and just ran out of real estate. And I don't know how far gone anyway Certainly interesting knowing that there was some buzz around this earlier but has never cracked ninety If you're a believer newer with them at some point I can see. It's not walking away at thirty two one but certainly an outsider based on what we've seen so far. Yeah I'm not going to be using map anywhere I just I. It's it's tough to go to a horse that Was that for out of it in that written store and did close some ground but who was imposing ground in that race. So Lind's map for me Earlier in the year You know before the Lecomte I was after talking to David. Carroll obviously Marquette he's Assistant that heads the string of horses here in New Orleans. They care was very high on this. We had gone back to the Born to take a look at enforceable and we pass in front of Lens Map and David had plenty to say about Lynn's map. He thought that he was Bradwell. And the further that he went The better you would get just from the way he was training in the mornings and it looks that I mean he may be right in that sense but coming from ten to fifteen links off of. It just isn't going to get the job done on Saturday. No so we're state to his outside. Another horse had his share. Buzz and indeed has actually been favored in three of his force starts with the runner up. Finish in the Lecomte to his lone non chalk performance Certainly consistent believe his three ninety plus personnel speed ratings are the most in the group and they've all come in a row after breaking his maiden on debut reality is. He's not the fastest in the race though but certainly consistency counts for something I do think he's a little more value than enforceable. Assuming the morning line is correct. Overstate being six to one another. I just wanted to see the board If these higher I'm interested if he's lower I'm not. This is who I took on top. I took over state On top here at just I. Obviously this horse goes off at five to two. I'm looking somewhere else. But if this horses over five to to Which I'm almost certain he will be just because I think enforceable it's GonNa to take some money. This is the horse for me. I mean he broke I if you look at his career lifetime past performances Steve Asmussen had him debut at Churchill. Downs and that's over over the meeting. September put up an aiyee presents. Be figuring out the fastest winning by nine and three quarters length but got the job done steps up. The first level allowance stretches out to the mile only gets beaten a nose with a ninety. Three Birds Nets feet figure once again answers. That question stretches out to a mile and a sixteenth next progression. Lecompte runs a really good second that day. I like silver state In the Lecomte I like Tim and enforceable Enforceable obviously got the better of them that day but like I said stretch out from that mile to a mile and sixty successfully ran a really nice second and then last time out in the risen star set a really Nice trip. Kinda just grinded. His way down the stretch and put up a good ninety three. That's beat figure. I think that in this race there's going to be some more pace I think that modernise is going to be The Wild Card in here if modernists absolutely sends from that fourteen whole things are going to get ugly upfront for all the mentions that were the reasons we've mentioned before especially With wells by you down on the rail but if that horsens it's going to be I mean they're absolutely going to fly into that I turn And things could get the little rough up there and silver state is a horse that I picture sitting three or four wide just behind those early leaders getting I run and Kinda just showing that Nice. Grinding effort down the stretch voting awfully close like enforceable. Like you said I mean like I said earlier. If he's five to two I still would want to use them but kind of Grudgingly but if he's four or five to one that's going to be right in my wheelhouse and I'm looking forward to seeing how this horse runs all right. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing how they pet the race. And Um touchdown modernist a little bit. I'll just add a thought that's risen. Sour was fine. And you're right. I mean if he tries to go gator wires. We saw the maiden win at Ecuador's Things are going to get hot up front but if they think oh maybe we can talk behind night traffic. Who's going to have to go from the eleven Yeah they lose a little ground but You know maybe they get a stocking trip But yet what would junior decides to from the fourteen is definitely the first domino That's GonNa fall but we do have a little bit more of a run into the turn with the extra half furlong So that changes things but yeah I agree modernist disorder the the wild card here and and we'll know early. What affect you might have yet? He breaks well. I can't see a junior. Alvarado unless specifically instructed I can't see him absolutely just strangling this horse early on we saw it in the second division of the risen store that he kind of he was almost a little rank in that race as well. He looks like he's just one of those free running. Try and run them off their feet type of horses. We saw that acqueduct Although they did go slow that day. But I just can't see this horse being two or three links off of passing horses down the lane. I think that is only chance. It's going to be to break. Well maybe not absolutely send To the lead maybe just sit right on the flank of wells by but You know how that goes. That's just race riding. It all comes down to the break. Absolutely all right and at the top of all this You mentioned the neither vs intriguing you if they get in I mean Farmington road I guess of the two You know I I guess I mean he's right there with the other fifteen or twenty two ones and another one of the. The pleasure is similar to Portos That didn't break his maiden intros up in a spot. Where he's he's odds-on doesn't look like you can lose. I typically don't like horses like that going into steak so yeah days aren't GonNa Bother me either way. No yeah either way. If these sources draw in like I said I'm Kinda just going to turn the page on them Mister big news was a little interesting to me. Going into the risen store But another one. That's kind of just Ma- and I'm not going to. I'm not going to try and get to cute with this and try and throw horses in there that I don't think I have a shot at winning I'M NOT GONNA use those on any multi-race wages are Within the race. All right well. This is The how to Bet horseracing podcast and I think one thing you've been mentioned as we've gone through. The horses think is really paramount to remember especially race like this You know obviously we all make top ex. Yours is silver state. Is that right Yes sir and mine is was by you but you know when push comes to shove based on the odds You know things may have to go elsewhere You know knowing what we know now Do you have an idea in mind how you might actually bet this race or are you looking at the end? If Silver States the right price is king him with some of the bigger prices. We've talked about yeah. I think the way to go in and racist like these you know especially in the in prep season with these big fields and Three year olds going distance for the first time. It's obviously always on any race day to to find a good price in the find value however you determine value but for me silver state is certainly going to be a win bed if he's anything over the five to two or three to one range At four to one he's when bed even at seventy two He's a win bed and then I'd like to. I'd use silver state along with wells by you on top and Kinda. Just try and mess around with see how the board shakes out. You use those two on top of. Maybe a horse like mailman money Horse like Porto's if he's the right price courses like that that we talked about that kind of have some upside that we still think maybe can't win the race but can be there late. They're more than that. I absolutely think can't run fifth so I'm GonNa just completely those off of my ticket but horses like mailman money horses like major fed. Porto's maybe I'll try and work away. Just.

"Three year olds Throughout the summer Whether or not Mailman. Money is ready for this big of a stage yet. It remains to be seen Breakout obviously mentioning that. The trip was pretty rough and had risen store and we can all see it but As far as wind chances. He's definitely a horse that I'm willing to use underneath especially at that morning line. Maybe someone to run second third or even throw in there in the super effective but on top He's one of the horses like you said that. Does these improved. But I just think that he's going to have to take a big leap forward and I don't think that's Saturday's GonNa be the day for him to take that big jump. All right fair assessment His outside wholesome Pretty intrigued with a despite the speed of full field. There's actually only to E- e- pace types in the race and that means Bruce nutty types is early running style certainly front end. Tried to take them all the way. In the South West get hit by silver prospector was Ways back to third in that race and the ones we've talked about so far has actually been consistently faster couple mid ninety percent that speed ratings Always You know in the back of your head. Psychologically it's kind of funny to think of them stretching out and a horse going gates a wire in such a full field but There's a big taste advantage here to me. Grant especially from that three hole. There's no speed his inside He's GonNa break if if he does break while I should say with It's going to be. It's obvious that the move is going to be to get to the lead. The Brad Cox had success doing that with with Mr Monoploy in the first division of the risen store. So I'm kind of when I think about this horse in this race. I kind of envisioned the same trip. That Mr Montemar got Kinda just clearing early in hoping To be able to slow it down a little down to backside there whether he whether or not nobody comes up the challenge by. That's the question but like you said I mean those those mid ninety Brunettes beat figures last couple. That's I mean. Obviously something going for this horse and you just GonNa come down to the pace if he can get a clearly like he did last time. He has a chance but the fact that he was able to clear last out and couldn't hold on late. I think with the longest stretch here at fairgrounds that may come up to bite him Late in the stretch especially with a horse like enforceable closing from the back of the pack. But that's why you get the price you do and I expect you to be around that morning price. He's in the mix for me. One thing I don't like on the negative side is Sorta double jumps in distance. Some in typically the progression is eight and a half or eight to eight and a half and then nine and then Now this is sort of a twitter I mean. Usually we see nine to ten eight and a half to nine and a half. A you know might be a little Enough to take the starch out. But it eight to one I'm somewhat of a believer. Is certainly one of the ones. I'd like to be live to in that. All GRADED STAKES KICK FOR FAN. Get to that point To his outside. Chester town Somehow unbelievably to me. This horse has been favored in all four starts and I mean I guess if he's fifteen to one. I have a hard time talking people off a horse that price but I want no part of him. No I don't either and you're gonNA need I mean like you said it's tough to talk someone off of fifteen to one but if I was honestly Trying to help someone out. That was new to the game and they asked if they should gesture town. Fifteen to one. I asked for twenty five something in that range. I mean and and trust me to know you know I in with you. Know Steve asmussen is obviously one of the greatest trainers to ever do it. You never know what he can pull out of his bag when it comes to these three year olds but seeing that allowance race. I was right there. I was in the winter. Circle watching the race Gesture towns allowance race last time out and I mean it's the running line looks okay. He was only beaten a neck to shake some action but that was just absolutely wheezing at the eighth pole and in the final sixteenth. He was just. He just didn't wasn't moving smoothly. He came back blowing very hard. I think that the extra distance is no Bueno for this horse and even if this was a mile and a sixteenth I still don't WanNa part of him no I. I hope he run some like troubles to some sneaky fifth or sixth and Timbre and he gets hammered. I'm the drop and yeah yeah So well that's enough on that and probably won't spend too much time on the next one either social athletes fifty to one on the morning line. Pretty Rare Trek winemaker hangs out kind of number and stakes but Lifetime Best Brits number is in eighty two And that was five six starts ago Just you know if you're a believer in the Dallas Stuart Magic. I guess maybe use underneath that a monster price but Really hard to see is a factor on the win end almost And nothing's impossible and horse racing. Is You know. But almost impossible with the source I'm not sure how many people use the prisoner Pp's with the early pace ratings but this horse was on the lead and ran a sixty seven and a sixty eight three one two. So if you WANNA talk about going slow early and instill almost getting caught up the wire and Louisiana Brennan Allowance. That's why get fifty to one. Also schooling in the paddock. Here today and Wasn't acting too good maybe Maybe the minds on other things. Outside of racing right now is raring up out in the paddock. There with our store. Dallas almost had to hit the deck a couple of times so not only is social fleet. GONNA need a move up on paper but Come the big day. Although there won't be any fans there he's GonNa have to have his mind on racing. Yeah no fans but a full gate so tough. He's ranked sixteenth and prime power So tough assignment but like you said. Nothing's impossible Dallas. Done it before but certainly not for me even at a monster price Shake some action Another decent price on the morning line. Fifteen to one Brad Cox leading up Kobe Hernandez for this one. Pretty potent duo In other spots but eight speed reading last out with the wind that was going to mound eighth at fairgrounds Against Chester town. Many upset there at six and a half to one Certainly like better than Chester town. but you know just sort of a middle of the pack type in this race. Yeah maybe one to use underneath. It's interesting to see this progression. Throughout his first restarts on debut he was a very Almost terrible fifth beaten fifteen lengths Here in New Orleans with a sixty nine Brisbane. That's figure Brad Cox puts his horse on TURF. Going TO TURNS IMPROVES THAN Eighty and gets the win to break through those maiden ranks and then all of a sudden Brad Cox has them over the main trek going against Chester town in an allowance. Race in the Horse Continues to Just answer every question. That's been given to him. Jumping up to that. Eighty eight presents speed figure. I think that the the arrows pointing the right way with this horse. I think that if he's anywhere near that fifteen even twelve to one I'd be willing to use somewhere underneath Exact is I try factors just because I mean obviously the horses improving and he has some versatility as far as Winning I'm GonNa Look Elsewhere Syrup Cropper's number seven at Ngubane who's been on those last two Maybe shot with some room. The shot at a better place in four last out it was a slow pace but target US head as an excuse because shake some action certainly closed into that slow pace For the wind sharecropper was done on the rail and the win at Churchill In late October I thought was pretty useful. Maybe the source can get back to that race and that's good enough for a minor placing at a big price but in another one of those. That seemed like too much improvements needed for a win tab. Yeah I'll start earlier in the season Here had this horse entered in a couple of spots but it just seems to be. He's just one of those three year olds. It just always seems to have a problem. He came back on that Out of off of that layoffs from October in February and that Chester town and shake some action allowance race. And like you said just kind of it was just kind of flat and I think that Maybe he's still a good horse going forward but as far as the right now aspect. I don't think that he's good enough to on Saturday. Royal Act is by triple crown champion champion. American Pharaoh five hundred thousand dollar purchase for connections that also had the breeders cup winner last year I thought the Lewis was okay. certainly a an effort to build off of the now gets to stretch out Now granted earlier. I said I don't love the eight. Nafta nine and a half stretch out but you know sources tend to want so we're getting a familiar prices we are with the wells value Another one too hard to completely dismiss But I I look at that turf race and granted. It was on turf. The Eddie Logan doesn't seem like there's a lot of excuse there so if you think he's a dirt horse. I could take him but if you think he's just sort of that ninety percents type which we've seen in his last two then he's talked back. Yeah he's going to be tough to use on top. It is interesting To See that this horse obviously has taken to the main track. A bullet workout at Santa Nate on the twenty nine th of February after that Robert B Lewis so maybe the connections maybe Peterman Has found a little bit of a niche with this horse. The only question for me is going to be that stretch out. I don't know if this gets the mile and three sixteenths especially off of a little bit over a month. Layoff and don't get me wrong. That's not a long lay-off whatsoever but with this horse Just seems like the type that's GonNa need that Mylan Sixteenth Mile and even then. I don't know if this is a pure bred Going to be great dirt horse. Learn more Saturday Number nine Porto's who I thought Made a decent move I didn't think shot ski was ever winning. The weather's did hold on for a second mets player. Just got the jump on them and then ran away with the race So I thought the weather's was okay for Porto so little concern needed for racist to break his maiden and he was three to ten thereabouts three to ten to two five when he finally did so it was expected to lay over that five. Horsfield in the slap and did You know another one of the most could win. I I would say those. We've talked about that. You know could win needs a little improvement etc this one maybe more on the underlay side at eight to one. There's there's others fifteen or twenty to one that I like just as much so I went to a bigger price. Yeah Porto's is a horse that I consider putting in the second or third slot. It just GONNA come down to price like you said eight to one at a little short Considering that Like you said took a couple of starts to break the maiden finally did and then had okay whether it's finished third only three and three quarters links but I'm not sure how strong that race is going to be going forward so at fifteen the one. This horse is going to be my third. Pick at six eight to one Maybe using some super factors. Maybe don't even use it all in the in the multi-race.

Chester town Brad Cox Porto South West Dallas Bruce Steve asmussen Louisiana mets Mr Montemar US Robert B Lewis Chester town. Eddie Logan Dallas Stuart Magic New Orleans Nafta Mr Monoploy Timbre Brisbane

"louisiana derby" Discussed on How To Bet Horse Racing Podcast

"This is the Tabet. Horseracing horseracing podcast. Today we talk with grandma. Grunge about Saturday's Louisiana Derby. Now here's your host. Ted Derosa show goes on in horse racing not in front of many live people though some will be in the stands when the Louisiana Derby is conducted on Saturday at fairgrounds and one of those lucky enough to be in attendance. I at the thrill of being one of few. The the rebel grant Legrand's from fairgrounds will have a similar thrill is he and his peers. Gets a witness the Louisiana Derby two hundred points on the road to the Kentucky Derby and that road is extended now until September fifth regardless. This is a win. I'm sure many of the trainers and horseman wanting to grab it's the million dollar twin spires Louisiana Derby grant welcome to the horse racing. Podcast thanks. I appreciate Appreciate you having me and like you said. I'm going to be one of the lucky ones in this unfortunate time and Not only racing but in any sporting events I'M GONNA be one of the lucky ones that get to see the first one hundred point. Prep race I'm looking forward to it. Louisiana Derby is always The highlight of my year. And it's It's not only fund race to watch and see how these horses perform the rest of the year. But it's also Seems to always turn out to be a really good race. Bit No question about it with Sixteen entered fourteen will go assuming only to scratch is certainly a good bending events this year as well plus the added is the race will be NBC. Sports So excited to get that pickup Trying to make lemonade out of Lemons. Obviously don't love the circumstances but The they are what they are. And is someone I'M NOT GONNA lie grant You Know Surreal Eerie. All those adjectives being at a race track with big time racing fans. But certainly something. I'm GonNa be telling my grandkids about what next what an experience and you've had a few days a racing without fans but I'd imagine what they're actually being big steak Saturday. It's GonNa feel more different. Yeah I was That that thought I tried to block that sought out for as long as I could but today kind of doing TV Solo all day today on track. It really It eerie feeling like you said starts to creep in just because you know usually you come into one of those big big weeks and you experience it at Oaklawn but you come into these. Highlights you know the marquee events of the meat and Even though the week of there's the buzz and you know and people are looking forward to it for some reason or another. You have a bigger on track Wednesday crowd. And you know there's there's some lead up to it but today which just me and Three other people in the paddock and I was sitting there doing the pre ratio and almost talking to myself in a sense Other than you know obviously it goes out to simulcast but like you said it's a it's a weird feeling It's certainly strange to be at a track like the fairgrounds. Which usually you know has not only great racing but very fun and Interactive crowd and. It's a little different to be sitting out there In dead silence almost just hearing the horses walked behind you in the paddock. But it is what it is and we're GONNA make lemons out eliminate is that how it goes I think it's lemonade out of Lemons. Although actually lemons lemonade would be more impressive than you think about it. That's why I said it 'cause I was spending you're taking level people. One another SORTA weird wrinkle to this sort of byproduct is You know we're we're prepping for race now. For many of these horses country house actually raised again in the Arkansas Derby last year before Winning the Kentucky Derby but For a lot of these horses this would have been the final star for for the Kentucky Derby Argo imagined. That's in play now With the race being moved to September fifth and Churchill is hinted that they will add some points races. Not sure how many how much they'll be worth it Sarah But you know a a little luster lost from you know a last chance to see these horses before the Derby standpoint And I know as part of your job. In addition to handicapping talking races in the paddock. Do a lot of barn work. A lot of great videos up on twitter and social media would of the the horsemen been saying about this whole situation terms of preparing their horses and thinking about a derby. Now that's six months away. Yeah it's definitely a It's definitely a mixed bag for someone like Brad Cox for example He's you know. Obviously he had Division One winner of the risen star Mister monoploy Who won that race and then came out of the first division of the risen so it with a little bit of an ankle issue so originally right after the risen star when they issue came up. Brad Cox had continued to say that obviously the horses off of the betrayal. But now obviously as you mentioned with the Derby being pushed back a horse like Mr Modern y you know if it is indeed just a minor ankle injury now all of a sudden has has a couple of months to recover and get back into training. And so it's an interesting dynamic. Would you know you have people like that? You have trainers Brad Cox with Mr Manuel. And then you also have you know other guys that Obviously you're aren't thrilled about having the Derby pushed back but at this point it's just opinion because we've I've never seen this before and a lot of these trainers have never seen Something like this before. So everyone kind of has their own opinion whether or not most of it is positive or negative. I'm not sure yet. It seems to be a little bit of mixed emotions Between all of the trainers but for me. I think that you know it is what it is and Business as usual we'll I'd imagine a lot of the sentiment will be distilled in August You know Mr minimally comes back. Game Busters Brattle love it But like His law is awesome through July. And then you know God forbid something doesn't go hundred percent that camp Would definitely a wish for a major be? But you know we're all dealt the same hand so at least it's fair in that regard and finally get to the main event here as we both hinted excellent batting race Really no obvious. Obvious favourite You're GONNA have what fourteen horses There's only the two scratches you do have to. Have you heard anything about how the field might shake out? Do it either of the as have a chance to draw in. I haven't heard a everyone's been playing pretty tight to the chest I haven't heard But to be honest even if these To a draw in. I'm still looking elsewhere. But as far as scratches and to one of the two or both of them drawing. I haven't heard we'll we'll go top to bottom because I don't really see this as any horse not worth talking about some more than others though but it does start down on. The rail and natural at the VIBE is their New Orleans grant but Certainly among my Louisville friends and people I see at Churchill. Downs all the time Hard to find a trainer that would be Not Hard to find a trainer that would be more popular Greg Foley having a Derby Horse and we've seen it to some extent with mark and Brad and Greg seems to be at that level as well. He's local his kids from around here. They're involved as well. A lot of excitement about major fed Down on the rail based on first nets numbers is going to need to find some improvement But he's by go sapper out of a smart strike mayor so no reason to think the distance Can't help him. Yeah and I've I've I interviewed Greg fully after this horse broke his maiden on we back on the first of January and even then Obviously the camp knew that they had something with this horse even on debut but after that easy win Breaking the maiden Greg Foley and his team his kids Travis and they all had high hopes and It seems to becoming to fruition. Here it's good to see that whole crew getting a just an opportunity. I like Travis said at the Louisiana Derby. He said it's nice to be here. It's good to have an opportunity and at least we have a say in this game and to see them win this race that would be A thrill as far as the horse goes like you said that ninety one birds that speech figure last out obviously gonNA need improve on that in but a lot of these horses in here Have something to prove. So at eight to one on the rail. I honestly there's A. There's a bit of a run into that. I turn. I would have liked to see major fed. John Maybe somewhere near the middle of the pack even though there is that long run into the first turn. You still going to have to work out a trip but Who better to work out a trip than Joel? Rosario so major fed on the round at eight to one if you get part of it. I don't see why he couldn't win. This race and Joel was on NATO. The rebel last week and Somehow kept that horse together to repel would seem like a challenge from every horse in that race and they doll was down on the rail as well so the paint and one thing probably should as I mentioned at the top of all this this is a mile and three sixteenths for the first time It does that Affect you do you see that distance is more like amount an acre more classic test for these horses. I think it's more I think it's more of a classic test To be honest with you I think that the mile and three sixteenths We're going to get to see that I mean once you get the distances like these For three year olds It's I mean every yard is going to be a grew. It's a grinding battle. Every extra yard you put onto these racist so To stretch sources out to a mile and three sixteenths I think it was a good move horsemen obviously agree in both the risen star and in this race So it's GonNa be fun to see how it all shakes out going forward. Yeah the Entry Back. Certainly speaking volumes with the full field number two mailman money Connection to Louisiana Derby fans and we'll see the upset winner from last year's Derby on the undercard by my standards. Of course. That's certainly taken a shine to mailman. Money five to one Definitely some buzz off that maiden win at five to two. I actually didn't think that was a terrible race from the ten whole Was Wide had some traffic early. Definitely could see some improvement in store here at a decent price I mean really like to be a broken record or will be by the end of this one of many scenes. It has fat yet. It's tough to not be a broken record in this racist because all of these sources have Tons of upside and so much approve. Mailman money Pretty rough trip in that Rhythm store on the fifteenth of February still finished a nice fourth and talking to Bread Calhoun after the race He mentioned that he he just waiting on this horse to get To mature a little bit he thinks that this horse going forward is going to be a real threat For the three year olds Throughout the summer Whether or not Mailman. Money is ready for this big of a stage yet. It remains to be seen Breakout obviously mentioning that. The trip was pretty rough and had risen store and we can all see it but As far as wind chances. He's definitely a horse that I'm willing to use underneath especially at that morning line..
