This one is a slow moving system. It's goingto produce a prolonged period of life threatening storm surge. For pretty much from the mouth of the Mississippi River all the way over to maybe Pensacola and then because the storm is going to be in the vicinity of the northern Gulf Coast states for two, maybe three days, we're talking. But for example, in Florida they've we've missed most of the storms in Florida on DH. There's still a potential we still several more weeks of the peak of hurricane season to go. It is Jeff Hoffman, director and chief meteorologist at the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network. "Bauer has all the details coming up in one half hour. Before eight o'clock. Brad Shams Dallas Cowboy report Right now we look. Att. Two storms Marco and Laura. It's likely that both will make rare back toe back Land falls in the United States over the next few days. We're joined by San Antonio. First news correspondent bills in for Bill, how rare are back to back landfalls? Well, we have avoided apparently one bit of history here, Charlie in that we have never had to hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico at the same time, and it appears that we will not Marco. As you mentioned, Tropical Storm status will not strengthen into Hurricane Laura will develop into hurricanes, perhaps a category two hurricane before it makes landfall landfall, but I I have no information that shows that this has ever happened before, in another way to tropical systems hitting the same area within 48 hours. I don't have any record of that happening before Charlie. And right now, the Louisiana coastline is that area. If you look at the paths of these two storms, they projected pads and the center line of that cone of uncertainty. That line crosses just a TTE, the Louisiana coastline south of Lake Charles. So the Louisiana coast is going to take your prototypical 12 punch with a stiff jab from Marco with a lot of rain and storm surge. And then here comes that overhand right coming from Laura with a direct impact on the Louisiana coastline. And we all know from past history. Ah, Louisiana doesn't fare well on these kind of storms. Absolutely not like low level. You look in a city like New Orleans, which is in that bowl, of course, and that's one area where there really keeping their fingers crossed again, Charlie because they're on the wrong side of the storm there on that upper right quadrant where the heaviest rain comes. The heaviest storm surge will come and right now tracking Marco that is headed right. At New Orleans, so they're keeping their fingers crossed that the reconstructed levees that we're all redone after Katrina will hold up and the pumping.

It will have company in the form of Laura forecasting to be a hurricane when it makes landfall. And currently forecasting make landfall some somewhere central to western Louisiana. And that would be Thursday morning. Lado says they could have overlapping warnings for both storms, which is rare, so that's an interesting That we did not encounter here very often at all.
