"Dot com good afternoon I'm more Khloe refined steam with Louis Anderson at the editor's desk coming up house Democrats prepare to wrap up opening arguments today in the Senate impeachment trial of president trump on Capitol Hill I'm Mitchell Miller thousands of abortion rights opponents are attending this year's March for life find Kate Ryan another American diagnosed with the corona virus that originated in China WTOP at twelve thirty one less than thirty minutes from now house Democrats will begin their final day of opening arguments in the Senate impeachment trial of president trump let's go live now to Capitol Hill WTO peas Mitchell Miller house managers today will focus their arguments on the second article of impeachment obstruction of Congress after much of Thursday spending the time on the first article abuse of power arguing that president trump did so by withholding aid to Ukraine and a White House meeting with its new president to pressure him to announce an investigation into Joe and hunter Biden Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer today address the upcoming issue of whether to call witnesses and criticized Republicans for saying there won't be enough time with depositions and legal delays after earlier voting down subpoenas at the outset of the trial they said let's not do it now let's hear the arguments and then do it and now they're saying we don't have enough time to do it talk about talking out of both sides of your mouth holy moly but Republicans say the Senate shouldn't do the job the house should have done and also have been critical of house Democrats saying the trial has been repetitive with points being made over and over again yeah it seems like both sides are pretty dull again match are there any indications that the opening arguments may have change the minds of any Republican senators deb you're right a lot of people are really dug in there was a lot of talk at the outset of this about whether these four senators would actually change their minds of course we've been talking about main Susan Collins Alaska's Lisa Makowski Utah's Mitt Romney and Tennessee's Lamar Alexander but they have so far not given any indication that they are going to change their minds they've certainly at times said that they might be open to witnesses but we haven't seen that move for you almost need a snowball effect at some point where do you not only get three or four senators are perhaps six to eight senators saying they're changing their minds we just haven't seen that and there is a sense that some Democrats are nervous that that is not going to happen clearly Chuck Schumer has been trying to get out in front of this every single day again he was banging that drum trying to put pressure on these Republicans initially of course they some of the Republicans Jerry Nadler actually tried to shame some of the senators when he spoke in his opening arguments that seem to backfire a little bit so they've been trying to sail few nice things at the outside of outside of opening arguments right now though both sides as you said really seem to be done again HM president trump has been a little disgruntled on Twitter today upset about the the timing in which his attorneys will get to speak it's happening tomorrow do we know what the the defense team is prepared to do once they take the floor on Saturday well right now Jay Sekulow is saying that they are going to have a robust defense now I know president trump has called the Saturday possible morning into early afternoon a Death Valley for television part of the reason that they may limit the arguments tomorrow may be that they may just don't want them to go that long I want them to really come out on Monday but what we expect is that there will be a rebuttal of many of the accusations that the Democrats have made the White House team has indicated that they won't just go to the articles of impeachment themselves there's also been a lot of talk about how their presentation will go of course we know the president is very sensitive to how this plays out on the broadcast waves and right now you know the Democrats have already picked out a hundred and forty videos during their presentations over the last couple of days a lot of people are wondering how much of a high tech or a television presence will the White House team have they have indicated that they will include some of this but I think they may have change some of their strategy as the Democrats have rolled out their case but we will of course here this argument that the articles themselves including an abuse of power may not actually be impeachable offenses that is a legal argument that is doing up a lot of arguments within the legal scholar community but we will of course get a very sharply worded defense from the White house in the coming hours especially starting tomorrow morning all right W. T. O. P.'s Mitchell Miller watching the impeachment trial force on Capitol Hill up next a second case of coronavirus here in the U. S..

"The body lay. When you bring out that beach ball, and you start hopping on your character. You know, it's so interesting you talk about how you don't like to talk about politics. And I thought about this yesterday with the election, right? I get why people would not want to talk about politics because it used to be a time when you didn't talk about politics religion. Or who the greatest rapper was bigger to puck you left three shit alone. But when it comes to politics, you see how divided shit is. You really can't please anybody know. So it was like if you're funny funny should just be one of the most universal things ever. Yeah. Right. So you just want to be funny as possible to touch as many people as possible if you're specific which funny. Yeah, you could like cut off all the demo motherfucker. So I see why people would not want to touch on the political shifts. I just don't it just doesn't inter-. I mean, like, I said, I it's it's John Ray thing, man. Like there's categories and stand up man, you know, what I mean like. Thown is a great political humorous. You know, Bill Maher Chris rock like you wanna hear politics. Listen to Chris doing so fucking good at it. But I I don't wanna talk about that. When I when I was growing up, and I was inspired by stand up. I was in. I was inspired by the storytellers. But I was in love with Bill, and I was in love with Dennis wolf Berg. I was in love with Louis Anderson like people that talked about families and kids all day. It may maybe because I was like fourteen and thirteen like when I heard a comic talk about kids, I could relate. So I enjoyed it..

That's his that was his advice to our good friend, Shannon, Paul. Okay. You've gotta have a perspective. So I've been trying to think of see the problem is and and I'm not joking here. But I've done a gay. Most of the stories I have done that. But that is my perspective. I'm sorry. What the hell was that? Breaking in. Can I add to what you're saying? Yes. Donna valentine.
