"And Eric ten hard came in and really what he did finally after all of these managers for moise to ragnarok and everybody, you know, Louis van gaal and Mourinho in between. What he did was finally took control of the club. It became the gad, the football department, making the decisions. He imposed alignment on the club that had lacked it. Utterly and completely. And that's what your team need. And your team of only not had it for ten months and so once you get that manager, once you have that, it may be that I hope it's the next manager. I really do. It may be the manager after that. As Tom and clearly continue to learn their lessons, but once you get that manager who takes control of the club inserts, that alignment, and is making football decisions real football people burly stepping back real football people being installed to make real football decisions, you will be you will be watching again. You'll be watching that club again with joy, full rooted wonder, and you'll remember who laughed at Chelsea. You remember you will be able to come on and laugh at roger Bennett for laughing at Chelsea. I do, I think the Premier League's better to be clear with Manchester United back soaring. It's definitely back, it's definitely better when Chelsea are thriving. But in terms of the World Cup, look, Australia were thrilling what a result tonight they must be delirious and starting to think about their own narrative hosts playing at home before pat crowds, tickets are selling immensely well. What kind of a darling run? What kind of a noise can they make? The only have to look back a year a year ago. They had, they had challenges of their own within their international culture and hazing and harassment, which was dealt with in a very Australian way. And I mentioned this because you mentioned France and your question and the great irv Renard, so wonderful to watch him finally come home in his nation's hour of need in many ways to watch the I loved it last week's in the great, the great French footballers who had self exiled under the last coach coming back strolling into training en mass. It's really it's amazing to witness. But this is the World Cup where almost every bloody team almost every bloody first of all there's so many good ones. So many threats, so many deep squads, so many true collectives. If you've watched Japan play football, you know, never mind Spain, never mind England never mind Germany. What should Japan play football? It's genuinely thrilling, but you also see, almost every team I've mentioned there has had always going through Canada, my lord north of the border. You know, our friends just Civil War with their own federation and so you have the joy of this World Cup. It's going to be so bloody well attended. The ratings are going to be magnificent. The brands I've spoken to who are partnering with teams are tracking it and saying that this is going to be, this is going to register so loudly around the world as an event as a prime delicious scintillating globally relevant sporting event. And that's magnificent, but at the same time, it's two sides of the same coin as the wonder that's going on in terms of the scale, the impact the devotion, the interest, the passion for the women's game, and there's also more than teething problems. These are not teething problems. These are endemic fundamental gist sexism, just the worst of coaching abuse, the worst of federation's covering and turning a blind eye and empowering and not protecting women. So you're going to have both of these narratives and we're almost going to have to watch this this World Cup with cognitive dissonance. We have this marvel and wonder and thrive. And we're also going to have to keep hold of the fundamental challenges that almost every nation is experiencing. These are not growing pains. These are almost abuses that have been baked in and have been allowed to fester in the women's game and need to be highlighted spotlighted and action needs to be taken. And that's where we are. And you talk about some curl, let's end on the positive note, because some just a magnificent footballer, unlike any footballer I've ever seen, other than Ronaldo in the she can legitimately Ronaldo and his prime, not Saudi rinaldo, but Ronaldo and his prime. You looked at him and he was a 5 tool player. The thing that amazed me about him was that he could score and hurt opponents in every single way. And you look at some Kerr and she's the same, she can legitimately score. And her opponents in key moments in every single way over the top in the air back to goal on the dribble, you know, that's really the thrill that is some cur and she's just a clenched fist, the competitive nature of her whole charisma, she is a, she's an enormous enormous global star. I mean, she's an enormous dominant force in the women's game. She will be a global star. I hope by the end of this World Cup and she deserves it on and off the field every single facet of the game Sam is utterly unreal and I love it and I admire it so bloody greatly. Also today's Matilda's victory over England it really speaks to the parity there are about to witness at this World Cup. So, so, so many good teams, no clear part of the final. It's going to be the most high stakes game of shoots and others, whether it's pitfalls everywhere. Take one game off in this tournament. And there's a real chance you will get punished, bring it on. We can not wait. We are planning for a large, large, large Women's World Cup here at the MIB network. And Eric ten haug have just been told we'll go live tonight at 6 p.m. 17 minutes time. God bless and here's what else is coming up

"Here? Cross and dead season 9 again. Donovan is gone. Can you believe this go go USA? Certainly through it's incredible. You could not write a script like this. It's roger. And this is episode two of go, go, USA, a passionate fans history of American men's soccer. This 6 part series that delves into our nation's rich soccer history on the men's side ahead of this year's men's World Cup, and if you're new, we've been expecting you and we're so bloody glad to have you on this journey along with us, but we might want to suggest you start with episode one in which we covered the inception of football in the United States through the stonewashed denim tinge delirium of 1994 and on to the cataclysmic disaster that was 1998. Today, we forge ahead into fresh waters 2002. And 2006. That's right. The M and M's show was topping the charts, MySpace was hot in the streets, and none other than Bruce arena was at the helm, and joining me to break all this down is my partner, oh, in this series True Detective style, the Bruce arena to my bob Bradley, the Jay burr Holter to you know him as coach beer from Ted Lasso. I know him as a gent whose instant recall of American football he'd call heroes and referees who've wronged this is, well, paralleled. It's the one. Mister Brendan, hunt. It's an honor. It's also a burden, but I'll carry this gracefully if I possibly can. It's a joy to be back, especially after an episode, one might just have solved the U.S. Jersey design problem forever when he declared, let's just get John cougar mellencamp to design them all. I'm telling you, guys, John Cooper Mellon camp, and just to really cook the rivalry. We'll have Canada's be designed by Brian Adams. Nickelback erasure, and I will not stand for it. I cut like a knife, as a nickelback. But anyway, if you're listening to a lot of melancholy, since we last podcasted, I'm wondering now you've got me wondering Brendan hunt. When mellencamp wrote in Jack and Diane, Jack, he's gonna be a football star. Did he mean soccer right? Who would have thought so? Back at the time. Certainly John cougar could not have had the bravery at the time to come out as it were as a soccer fan. So he would have had to be subtler about it, you know? That's amazing. I do love the fact that like maybe please God, our children's children will hear that song will love it as much as I do, but we'll just assume that Jack was just like playing defensive midfield, shielding that back forth from all that was coming and just leaving America to World Cup glory. To 2002, the first World Cup Brendan hunt really, truly. I believe watch them start to finish. Take us back to where you were then, a 29 year old Brendan hunt, describe your big picture viewing experience. I've been in Amsterdam for two and a half years. And this is the first World Cup I've had build up toward. I haven't just opened the paper the day of the opening ceremony and found out that the World Cup is starting. I had been tracking qualifying, which I didn't know that you had to qualify for World Cup. And this is not, of course, something that happens just by dint of becoming a soccer fan, but by the unique circumstances of living in Amsterdam, I had a friend who was on the national team, an American named John O'Brien, was playing for ix, met him at the one bar in town that would show NFL games, met him through Jason Sudeikis, actually, 'cause Jason knew that the IX player was here and John was playing pool. His buddies, so Jason comes up to me, which is my ear. I just put a quarter down in the pool table, get ready. We're going to play with the ix guy. And now, to this day, John and O'Brien and I are friends. Holland, who I was devoted to as much or more because that actually gone to their games at that point, did not even qualify due to the hubris of Louisville, don't get me started. Yeah, it's a redundant sentence. It's just due to Louis van gaal. Who was just implicit. And the theater I worked, boom Chicago. Everyone had become a bit of a soccer fan. We were all going to watch the USA's first game against the mighty Portugal. The team that had eliminated the hubristic Louis Vuitton again, redundant. And I get to the bar that day and it's like 11 a.m. on a Thursday and none of my Friends are there. Except my friend Doug and his dog, Doug's not in boom Chicago. Where is Jordan Peele? Where is my now teles partner Joe Kelly? Where is Josh Myers? And I text them. They've decided on that day to go to an amusement park. And what they miss is the single greatest possible launch into truly loving my national team that I could have ever devised, written, imagined, or experience. When not only do we defeat the number 14 in the world, a seeming World Cup favorite Portugal, by a decisive three to two, but also our buddy. The guy who lives a ten minute walk from us. Scores the first goal in the fourth minute. I made the right choice that day, and they all chose poorly. Yeah, I like to think that somewhere in the United States, Jordan Peele is keeping the podcast really enthusiastic. And he's just as passionate about amusement parks as you become about football, but it was an incredible campaign. We got to touch on the qualifying experience for a moment because the USA back then qualifying was never a given as we've learned qualifying is never a given. Brendan Concacaf really is the Star Wars cantina of football confederation. 100%, now they're trying to duplicate that at various Disney parks. And you know, they get the music right, but they don't get the bags of urine as authentically as you would like. They'll bags of your own being flung at our American corner kick takers. The first game in Guatemala in the guatemalans put the game in mazar tenango, a three hour bus ride from the airport, deep in the jungle, near active volcanos, 40 commandos in ski masks followed the players around everywhere, nice touch, local radio, blaring music and air sirens out that they once thought hotel. Booster reader does not do one star hotels and the U.S. barely escape with their lives, never mind a one one draw, but they did counter with some of their own home filled gamesmanship, Brendan. This cycle was the beginning of the dosa sero tradition where we hosted Mexico in the Arctic Columbus Ohio 29° below freezing, the Mexicans called de la guera, freer, the Cold War. I think the U.S. had not beaten Mexico and qualifying since 1980. Jorge campos wore so many layers of clothes. Brad friedel laughed at he looked like the steep puff marshmallow man. How much pleasure does a good old dosa sero give you? Because it is a truly important U.S. soccer tradition. It is a thing of beauty. No one could have known at that time they would have known obviously the significance of finally beating Mexico and qualifier, but that does Sara would become a thing that fortress Ohio would become a thing that even still today we are laying in the glorious aftermath of dosa sero. To have a intrinsic chant, you know, because we're not great. We're not great at terrace. We don't have the cleverness of English clubs. It's too high a bar to even compare ourselves to. We do things on repeat, we do loops, we do samples. But dosa is organic. It is factual. It is taunting, and it is glorious. And it

"There is no price fixing here gets implemented. Elderly people find it very difficult to use the technology needed for this virtual coin. No. I mean I don't like it. I like going to the shops and using banknotes. So question is then Andrew. Why did El Salvador decided to use Bitcoin if it's so unpopular? Well, it's the brainchild of the president who really forced this through in a very short time, and I don't think he really did a very good job of trying to bring El Salvadorians on board on this. There are several reasons El Salvador was not a very big economy. About a quarter of the economy actually comes from stuff money Remittances that have been set sent by El Salvadorians abroad, and he said that one of the ideas was that this should make it using Bitcoin should make it cheaper and easier for them to do that. There's also the possibility because because the currency is so Bitcoin is so volatile that some melted Elsa but hell, Salvadorians might become quite rich out of it in the long term. I have a tongue twister. It was you. Not me that time, Andrew. Thank you for joining us. You're listening to news day from the BBC World Service. Going to continue now with the sports news. In tennis teenager Layla Fernandez produced another brilliant performance to beat Elina Svitolina and set up a US Open semi final against Arena. Sabah, Lanka The list of Fernandez's vanquished opponents on this run at the U. S Open is ridiculous. She's beating defending champion I'm a soccer 2016 winner Angelique Kerber. And now Svitolina, who won bronze in Tokyo, the Olympics and a little bit later on clear we're going to be hearing from Francine, Um Samba Niyonsaba.
