"Start at Churchill downs where number 14 seal beach drew in off the also eligibles list in the tenth race and got the job done seal beach a three year old bake hole by midshipman out of the union rags may fairway luck. Owned by three diamonds farm trained by Mike maker, Louis sias aboard seal beach who paid 1198 6 76 and four 76 second 7 Angkor 1412 and 8 ten third was number three Kapoor, 7 34, fourth number ten milliken, $2 exact a $140 72 cents, 50 cent tried $222 13 cents. The dollar super paid $370 and I'm sorry, $3703 and 40 cents. Over at dalmar results for race four have just gone official and there was an inquiry in the race and there was a disqualification in the race. So first of all, the unofficial order of finish in race number 5 was 11 one three, with number 11 sunshine babe, holding off the favorite number one Carmen Miranda. But the steward saw something immediately. And the inquiry sign was put up before even the unofficial placings were put on the board. And when they showed the stretch run the head on view of the stretch run, it was pretty obvious that sunshine babe, number 11, who was in front and being whipped left handed by jockey Hector barrios came out one or two paths and made contact with the runner up number one Carmen Miranda. And they bumped pretty solidly. Now it wasn't only a nose victory and you can say that flavian Pratt never stopped writing on Carmen Miranda. But it did look from the head on shot like she was bumped pretty strongly and at least jostled, if not knocked off stride. The stewards decided that there was enough to make a change. So the winter sunshine babe disqualified from first and placed second and that elevates the favorite Carmen Miranda up to the winter spot, which let's face it makes a lot more people happy. It may not make you happy out there. And if you're spreading and pick threes or you were against Carmen Miranda, obviously you're not real happy about it. But the plain fact of the matter is that when favorite twin, more people win, and more people are happy. And it's all about the churn. Okay, so number one Carmen Miranda crossed the wire second, placed first via disqualification, three year old dark Bayer Brown Philly by Stanford, out of the tribal rule mayor Miranda rose. She's owned by Nick Alexander, trained by Phil d'amato, flavian Pratt was aboard Carmen Miranda, who paid four 63 20 and two 40. Second number one sunshine babe crossed the wire first, dequeued and played second, $7, $5, third, three, four 80, fourth number 6 don't Jew forget. Exact a 27 60, the try $36 55 cents. The dollar super paid $231 and 30 cents. All right, so by the way, they are 16 minutes away from post time for the Clark at Churchill, which means if they ran exactly when they were supposed to, it would go at 5 58 Eastern Time, which means we are not going to be able to cover. We will talk about it. I'll tell you what's going on at Churchill downs as they get closer to their featured event. Of the day. I can tell you right now that rich strike is 6 to 5 favorite on the board. Second choice is number 7 west willpower, third choice my top selection number one proxy everyone else is a big price as their 15 minutes away from post time for the grade one Clark. You may remember this race last year. This was the race that godolphin and the connections of maxfield ended up skipping the breeders cup classic with the Clark in mind all the whole time because they desperately wanted to get a grade one victory for maxfield. Maxfield is a stallion now that godolphin owns and it certainly means a lot and certainly means a lot going forward when it comes to breeding saying that you're a grade one winner. And as good as maxfield was and was powerful, he was. He had not been a grade one winner at that point, and they decided, look, we don't want to, we really don't want to run in the breeders cup classic and even though there's a chance, you know, we think that he has a chance against horses like nicks go and a central quality and hot rod Charlie and Medina Spirit. He certainly not a cinch by any stretch of the imagination at the end. And very likely he would need a pace scenario to go his way. And it didn't turn out that way anyway last year because Nick's go just blew to the lead and that was all it was. So they decided to completely forgo the breeders cup classic and I guess it's easier to do this when money is not as much of an issue to you as it is to others. And they pointed for the Clark all along and they got the Clark win and maxfield looked good doing it last year completely different circumstance this year. We have a high profile horse in rich strike who of course is this year's Kentucky Derby winner who supposedly was never looking at the Clark or at least once they decided that they were pointing to the breeders cup classic was not thinking about the Clark and it wasn't until shortly after the breeders cup classic that the connections Eric read specifically and his team said, hey, he's doing pretty good. Might as well run in the Clark. He loves it at Eros that they're at Churchill. It's a grade one race. Probably not the toughest race against older horses that he's ever going to run. So we're going to run them. So that's where we are with 13 minutes to post. We'll keep you updated as we get closer to that. Update speaking of updates. I want to update you right now on the current odds for this

"So they're not in the race, creative minister is your 9 to 5 favorite. I happen to think this is a pretty good version of the courland stakes that we're going to see this year. Creative minister is certainly one of the ones that has a big chance to win. Two horses just outside of them are both three to one right now on the board and they both have a big shot in here. Be better for Todd pletcher and artorias for Chad Brown. I'm going to lean just very slightly toward our tortoise. Debuted at keenland going 6 for a long, finished second, only beaten a length and a half after being about 7 wide turning for home. And coming from well out of it. They stretched them out to the one turn mile at Belmont last time out. And he got the maiden win as a three to 5 shot like you should. He beat a horse named gasoline, who's highly regarded. They were well clear of everybody else. He's by arrogate out of a ghost sapper mayor, he should appreciate extra distance. So this will be his first time going to turns and his first time going a mile in an 8th. I know the outside post is not phenomenal. But I think he's logical in the spot he's three to one. Be better has come off back to back mile and 70 yard wins around two turns at Monmouth in his most recent two starts, Louis sias picks up the mount on the son of uncle Moe, who coincidentally is owned by uncle Moe's owner, ripoli stable, Mike ripoli, of course, be better just looks like a horse was getting better and better. I don't know what he beat in those races at mom. I shouldn't say that. He beat a horse named cyber Viking last time out and he beat that horse by about 5 lengths and cyber Viking came back in one in his next start. So be better is beating decent runners and he's taking the logical step up in class. So western river, interesting spot for him. He avoids the really marquee names tomorrow in the Jim dandy of epicenter and early voting and zanden and even tawny port if you want to count them as a marquee name. And he comes into the curl and today, which seems like it should be a softer spot. It's softer, but it's not soft. And that's why he's 8 to one right now on the board horses are approaching the starting gate. Before they get

"Harlan's holiday muddy hart has the lead through a 47 and three half mile, blue steel pushed him along in the second quarter. Three wide, here's the move from fearless fearless moving, moving right now and only a neck off the lead as they round the fore turn. Where mighty heart toward the rail blue steel between and fearless looms the presents three wide, a gap of four to South Bend, dropping back was I have a Jedi 20 twice has been no factor as they pass the quarter mile mark with the advantage its fearless trying to battle back inside his mighty heart from the back. South Bend under a full head of steam with a short stretch to work with, fearless has the lead, South Bend continues to charge, mighty heart is back to third with less than an 8th to go. Louis sias and fearless driven out South Bend tries to catch mighty heart for a second, but the Harlan's holiday goes to fearless. Sophia scores in the Harlan's holiday. It's funny. It's hard to say the four length win wasn't like, wow, but it just seemed kind of workman like, right? Like he did end up when I said he kind of got the speed. They didn't go at it early. Paco on the two blue steel whose big long shot, they kind of just both looked like speed types, right? Mighty hart definitely gets to the turn first. You know, cuts the corner nicely. Paco goes out in like the three and a half path. And I can't fall to guy for not dueling with someone. Now, you know, when you're doing pace handicapping, obviously you're, you know, you're trying to project what's going to happen. And based on their styles, I thought it was quite possible they would end up being pretty contentious. Now, they weren't contentious the first quarter, 24 and one, but as they went into the backstretch, Paco kind of turned up the pressure and got closer and the next thing you know, they throw up a 23 and one for the second quarter and a 23 and three for the third quarter. So mighty hart did have to work. It wasn't a complete free reign kind of situation. And I've often argued that to me that second quarter is where a lot of races get won and lost when it comes to pace because if you're able to coast decently for the first quarter, okay, but it's usually when they're coasting in that second or third quarter for a route race or like a longer route race. To me, those are a lot of times where those races get won. And this time I think mighty hard had to do a little bit of work in those kind of middle stages. And I think that helped out fearless, who was being pushed along and under a drive, but pretty steadily reeled those top ones in. Mighty hart obviously dug in pretty gamely toward the inside to his credit. And south bank came with a nice rally, but he just fearless just had the jump on it. Fearless was spotted well. I have a Jedi who I thought was kind of the logical runner up to fearless ended up getting pulled up and van off, so. Never looked like it never really looked like your castellano just ever really started riding him. Like he just kind of lost a spot to South Bend down the backstretch and I kind of thought like, hey man, you should probably get in a hurry to get going, and then all of a sudden, I was like, oh, he's pulling them up. So just really never got into the race at all and obviously finished last in that one. The sugar swirl, this ended up being a pretty exciting race, not a good betting race in terms of it was just the very logical types that ended up I thought Franks rockette was poised and ready for a nice victory and she ran hard. She ran well, but just got beat by center isle. Luis sayes for Paula Lopez, a lot of people tweeting about excited Paulo lobo, a nice runner here for OXO. This was a Chad Brown horse who, you know, broke the maiden nicely on debut, had finished third and a couple of great at stakes races was doing just fine, but since going to Paulo's barn has just been unreal good and I had to cover a little ground this time didn't necessarily get right to the lead was actually not off the pace and they were kind of stacked up for across the track. But just was not free wheel and I guess like the last couple starts had been clear in those last couple of sprints. And so I thought took a nice move forward and Frank's rocket was she was in what I think is like one of the worst positions to be to like win. Like she was just always a neck behind and down inside. And for multiple horses, right? Like, early on, it was, you know, she was kind of between horses and they went and then they cleared off from the rail one or quinoa tifa was kind of out of there pretty quickly. And then she inherits the rail and she's just always like a neck behind those ones up on the outside and I always feel like it's just such a tough spot for a horse like that a to make up ground and B to kind of fight back because it just feels like you're kind of pinned in down there. And maybe she just got outrun by a good horse. That's entirely possible. But I thought it was a good effort and she was bet down way too low anyways. I mean, she was even money. They really hammered. I think a lot of people thinking like I was that she was maybe sitting on a good one and she did run a good one. She just got beat by a very nice horse in central island, Luis sias, Oregon, Paolo nova. Let's take a quick timeout. We come back. We'll continue our weekend recap. "Joel Rosario is if I was a trainer and I had to have a go to win. I had to have a win. I had to have, I think I put him on horse right now, just the way he's riding. He's just so three weeks ago. Three weeks ago. All of a sudden, a rad's been into slump for three weeks, right? Yeah, you see what I mean about polls? That's what that's media people do, Dale. I'm gonna start a poll about how many Christmas presents Dale Romans is gonna buy this year. Right, there's gonna be a hell of a lot, a lot more to receive. But in flabby and prop. I mean, I think that, you know, he's deserves to be on the list, which they'll hate, but you know he's he's a guy that, you know, a lot of people really don't know that much about. He's only been riding here in the U.S. on a regular basis since 15. And, you know, he's he's he's become a go to writer and out west. He's got a bunch of writing titles that delmar, but he's not in the household name if you will. Category like maybe Joelle and my old friend, I read, and Jose artis, Louis sias, but, you know, yeah, I think that if you're going to have to have these polls, which Dale hates, I guess they did get it right. All right. Final topic for today, again, you can listen to I asked, they answer every single weekend here, ten 30 eastern is when we kick it off on the equine form. If you miss them, head back to our website and check out the podcast of each of these segments. They have been really informative. All right, final segment and it involves Gulfstream's championship meet, which begins on Friday. Trainer safi Joseph junior comes into the meat with a ton of momentum having just captured the fall meat title and the spring summer meat title before that. Saffy finished 8 wins behind Hall of Famer Todd pletcher at last year's championship meet, of course, Fletcher recorded his 18th title for the championship meet last year. He's been unstoppable. Joseph was quoted in an article this week, guys, is saying the championship meet is Todd's meat. Last year we were pretty close, but we didn't have as many horses as we have this year. I think we can give him a run for his money. What are the chances safi Joseph junior walks away with the championship meat training title this year? He's got a solid chance he wins a lot of races, but I will say one thing, Todd pledge to walk away with the money title. So it'll be about show me the money. I don't think he was concerned about the number of wins anymore. So he just went in the big ones. He went all the big ones down there. He's powerhouse getting stronger all the time. Yeah, I mean, Todd is mister Gulfstream, just like he's mister Saratoga. You know, he wins all those meat titles. It was almost shocking to some people a couple of years ago when she had Brown started is running back Tod off. Can saffy Joseph do it? Yeah, why not? I mean, he had he actually started more horses than Todd during last year's winter meat. But, you know, it's also like, I don't want to say, like in this to the JVs trying to take on the varsity. And I'm not saying that safiya's a JV trainer, but the analogy is that no, he's got to step it up a little bit and, you know, he's got more horses, but Todd's got a bunch of horses and tabs quality is usually always been more than SAP. But, you know, Seth is a good horseman and he's going to get his shera wins. Does he have enough in his barn to knock off Todd? I don't know about that. But if I was going to do a poll on this, I think I put Todd on top. What about you, Dale? Yeah, I'll put him on top anyway, but he's way on top. I mean, soft, we can win the title for winning the most races, but Todd went to title for winning the races. You know, that's an interesting point because so often there's press releases that are sent out after every meat at racetracks and they say, oh, so and so was the leading trainer. So and so was the leading owner. So was the leading jockey. What do trainers covet more? Is it that leading trainer title by number of wins or would they much rather finish second or third in the standings and walk away with more money? Well, I'd speak for myself. I think earlier in my career training titles were very important. They got less and less important. And I'm sure same with Todd and more important about trying to win the right races and develop the right horses and you start thinking about your legacy a little more. And I think that more be remembered more for big races in multiple races. But isn't it more important though to also put money in your pocket too? That's the big races. Show me the money. Well, we'll see how it plays out again. That championship meet kicking off on Friday at pletcher safi Joseph, both going to be loaded and coming down there with the best horses. As will Dale Romans Dale looking forward to your horses strutting their stuff at Gulfstream, my friend. Yeah, we're gonna have a good winner. I think we had a great fall and some good two year olds coming on to beat three. We're just gonna be a fun winter. All right, we'll see if gael Romans can dethrone Todd Fletcher. What do you think? I don't think so, not a number of ways. So I just wanted to beat this first time you ever won a race where you beat me. I seem to beat me from the very beginning. His first race I ran second. Maybe this will be the winter of Romans. Who knows? I like that. The winter of Romans. Well, Dan, we'll talk to you next week. Timmy will talk to you next week. Appreciate the time guys. I ask the answer, we'll do it all over again. Ten 30 Eastern Time next Saturday. Fun stuff. Interesting point by Dale, though. What's more important? Is you heard him say, in the early days of his career, those leading trainer titles meant a lot more than they do today. He'd rather have the money today and who can blame him. But yeah, that will be interesting to see how this plays out in terms of the number of wins. Can saffy Joseph junior challenge Todd butcher in that category. He gave him a little run last year he thinks he can give him an even bigger run here in 2021, 2022. When I come back, I'll wrap up the show tell you what's ahead on.

"They do a great job there on FS two America's day at the races. Well, speaking of New York, we will start with the Saturday action in New York, Dave, and the great two sands point on Saturday goes as race number 6. These are three year old Phillies going a mile in one 8th on the inner turf, the purse here is $200,000, nice field of 8 set to go to post. We heard there the stretch call of the 2021 jockey club oaks invitational won by Santa Sara runner up that day in the Philly who was actually favored in the race. The Chad Brown trainee higher truth, hired truth never runs a bad race, and she will be favored in the sands point tomorrow. One of two fur Chad Brown in here along with fluffy socks and both of them are completely reasonable. Higher truth, couple of wins and 6 starts back to back, runner up performances, fluffy socks ran second in the Lake George at Saratoga in July, went out west and ran third in the del mar oaks in August. I think this is a pretty wide open event Jordan's Rio for Todd pletcher number two, I think, is possible as well. I ended up with harajuku the three. Here in the first race in North America, you heard it a moment ago finishing third behind higher truth. But ara juku had the more difficult trip I thought, I think second race in North America for Graham motion is a really good angle. And I think the horses that harajuku is running against in Europe might be a touch better than these. I don't love the cut back in distance to a mile and an 8th, but in a wide open event, I'm gonna go with harajuku. The other thing that I was worried about with harajuku, in addition to the in addition to the cutback and distance that you referred to, is the rider change. She goes from one of the best riders in the world in Ryan Moore, to a guy who is not one of the best riders in the world. He's a good writer, junior alvarado. He's having an awful time of it at Belmont park and really overall in 2021. He's actually winning 12% of the time at doma. So that's not an awful time. That's probably right where he should be. But he's only 7%, actually, I'm sorry. He's 7% at Belmont park. He's 12% for the year overall. So it's been a slow start at Belmont three wins from his first 41 mounts. And it worries me a little bit that in a race this big that there wouldn't be a quote unquote bigger named rider on this gram motion trainees. So it doesn't mean she can't win. And you know what? You're probably get a better price because of it. If one of the Ortiz brothers or Joel Rosario or John Velasquez or you know, whoever you want to say, Louis Sia is we're aboard harajuku she probably be lower than three to one, where she is on the morning line, junior alvarado. You get a little bit of a better price. I thought higher truth was the one to beat. I don't think she's a standout in this spot, but she just never runs a bad race and I rad's gonna try for the first time. His brother Jose has ridden this daughter of Galileo the last 5 times that she's run. The Philly that really intrigues me Dave and I couldn't pull the trigger to put her on top, but I'm gonna be using her on every ticket is number four runaway rumor for Jorge Abreu and Jose lazcano. She's another one that's never run a bad race in her life. 6 career starts three wins a second a third and a fourth place finish. The first three or four starts of her career, I think are as good as anyone else in this field. And the last two times she's run. She's been caught a little bit wide and she just is kind of not kicked it in as well as I thought she would have. And I admit I've been kind of chasing this Philly. So if you I like her, don't you have to fluffy socks a little bit? Well, I have her in the Lake George. The fact of the matter is is that I like a lot of them in this field. It's a very evenly matched field. But price wise, first, I think the one you can count on the most is higher truth, price wise the one that intrigues me the most is runaway winner. It doesn't mean I don't think harajuku can win. It doesn't mean I don't think Jordan Jordan's Leo or fluffy socks can't win. Obviously plum Ali has races that make her very dangerous. She's another one that really just hasn't come forward since when she was a two year old Philly. In fact, she hasn't won since she was a two year old. So a lot of different ways you can go, I'm going to be using fours and 5s, though, in these sands point, it's the grade two sands point goes as ray 6 tomorrow at Belmont park. Over at keeneland, the feature race of the day is the grade one, Queen Elizabeth II challenge cup, three year old Phillies running a mile in an 8th on the turf, and the purse is $500,000 now. I'm actually in Lexington, Kentucky right now, Dave. It's been raining most of the afternoon today. It is supposed to rain throughout the night. It's supposed to be gone by 6 a.m. tomorrow. Now they did run on the turf today at keeneland, despite it raining most of the afternoon. We'll see what happens with it raining all night. My guess is with this ween a grade one event that they will at least run this race on the turf hopefully they just keep the entire card tomorrow on the turf. But I wouldn't be surprised if it is less than for the Queen Elizabeth II challenge cup. And once again, a good field of Phillies here going to post. We've got a field of ten and Chad Brown, as always, has a say in these races. He may have the two favorites in the race. They're not favorite on the morning line. Number four Empress Josephine for Aidan O'Brien is three to one on the morning line, but the second and third choices are Chad Brown trainees chantel Sara and technical analysis. And you know when it's Chad Brown and Mike dub like Shanna sorrow or a Chad Brown and Clare of its Staples like technical analysis, those are among the better horses in his barn. I think both of those make a lot of sense. I like Empress Josephine better than this field. I thought last time out in the First Lady at keeneland, she ran a strong maybe not spectacular third. I thought the race is in Europe. We're really good. If it's a little soft, I think that's a good sign. I don't think she's gonna be dramatically overbed. I think you're gonna get something in the 7 to two range. I think she's better than this field and I think she'll win. The one horse that intrigues me the most is ain't no Brian's son, and he's got several sons in training and they've beaten him occasionally even in North America. Nicest number 5, ten to one, I think that's a really good price on that horse. Probably gonna play underneath might not win the race. I like Empress Josephine best. I think necessarily good value. Okay, so Empress Josephine no. Four for Dave also using number 5 nicest basically Euros in here. I'm going to go with the USA contingent, I like Santa Sara. I think slightly over technical analysis..
