"I don't know if he's going to give you more than like five or six innings in these starts going to want to but i do think like having him back on the bump every five days and having them in the dugout being like a crazy person not gonna hurt the proceedings. But i do think you're right in that. So you know this yankee team. We didn't know they were the deadline. Either we knew that they needed. I mean there were obvious upgrade points. The bullpen is running out of arms. Everyone of the bullpen is tired. They supplement the bullpen with some like like klay homes has been interesting so far we like it. We enjoy it other than clay homes. They ditched louis. Sessa and attached justin wilson. Whose terrible to get that done and that cleared up payroll that ultimately never used. So that's been kind of a bummer right now because they use arms if not to be effective just to soak up innings. Because what they are doing is calling up nicknames. News one of the worst pitchers in baseball history and makes me think every time he takes the man that i could be a major leaguer because there's no threshold for failure. His stuff is look nick nelson stuff better than mine yes. I don't throw ninety seven. But if i blow up and can't find home plate and like and like throw abundant into right field and do whatever nichols has been doing and the next day my managers like keep at it. They're like we're going to send you damn well we're gonna bring you right back up like the fact that you you know. It makes me think that there's no rules i could just be on the roster repeatedly but did cashman fortify the bullpen. Jury's out i'm not sure but he needed to find left. Handed power got anthony. Rizzo pulled that off the horn. God joey gallo and so. None of us were ready to say like this team is like this team is near perfect. Just supplemented with a couple lefties. Nobody nobody thought this yankees team was perfect. But everybody knew. If you're gonna make moves get lefty power. He got to. He didn't really sacrifice much of anything to do it. The red sox had a more golden opportunity ahead of them. As far as i can tell. And so i think you're right..

"What do you think. I was more excited when i read about the trade. Then when i read about. Ken rosenthal What he had to say at one thirty in the morning. I let me just pull that up to to give these specifics because it immediately felt like. Oh you're oh this is the beginning of something. There is no way the yankees are clearing out to you. Bullpen guys with you. Know a bullpen. And it's short bench on wednesday. They're not going to go into a game against the raz once again with the pitching matchup. This probably unfavorable. But they're not going to enter a rays game with less than a full roster. They can't call backup breyer you. They can't call back up christie nelson all. These guys are within the ten day window. What's come in. Rosendahl says yankees trade likely precursor other roofs. And i'm like. Oh yeah oh yeah. Wet my lips team. Looking to upgrade bullpen possibly add shortstop left handed bat what what looking to upgrade bullpen before possibly adding shortstop lefty bat. You need all of these. I mean you definitely have to upgrade your bullpen. But if you're trading sessa and wilson just a maybe upgrade the bullpen again with different people and then you forget to add offense and especially a lefty bat like that this is this has to set the stage for a huge move not a reload of the bullpen where we end up with another klay homes type four years control on his ninety nine mile an hour sinker that never hits the strike zone. Oh great thanks. Klay homes is probably gonna come into the sixth inning of a two game day by the way just preparing that. That's the lock of the century. Because there's there's nobody in the pen. Not louis says someone you must hold onto forever even though the seemingly never got rid of him. He doesn't have to be in a turtle yankee either he's a valuable middle innings guy. And he's somebody who people were starting to have more faith than they probably should have in and being like. Why didn't he close thursday. Night at fenway. Why didn't you come in while. Jonathan lomas was have your meltdown. That's probably not how louis says should be used at any point but it. It shows that he was finally garnering faith and people were actually believing in louis sessa and just like that the yankees dump him and just wilson as quickly as they possibly can for a player to be named later. The wilson money is next year. He is a two point. Five million dollar player option. Which like imagine justin wilson declining a two point. Five million dollars a player option after he threw a seven point. Five yard this this year. The just the most the experience was terrible. The yankees should have dumped him for whatever they could have gotten apparently had a hamstring issue all year..

"Double-play they got sonnino to hit into the lane as chuck china would say an easy six four three double play john sterling here on. How do you like that. They got zuhdi ground into the double play. We've got our own zoo and the raise. According to sterling. He called him. Zoo in that play-by-play college we heard earlier this morning. Zach britton escaping further trouble after. He'd already allowed a run on a couple of hits and a walk all chapman stranded. The tying run in the ninth struck out nelson cruz to end it gangs for raise. Three in the opener of a three-game set down in saint. Pete ryan lamar's eighth inning solo. Homer turned out to be huge. Before that jordan montgomery five innings of shutout ball finally picked up a win after getting pretty much zero run support for the last five or six weeks. He's put together some consistency. Now he's figuring out on the flying. Time out of tj. Trust them arm confidence semester aggressiveness or comfortable on the mound and just Trying to think less less that's always a good way to go. Probably what the entire team needs to do to get where they want to go. Just go play merrinbloom. Says they are focused. Guys are hyper aware that and locked in on that and the seasons really important right now important right right now it's now prior to now wasn't no. It was not at all. Clap there at the. These guys are hyper over. Jj thing here we go. It's a week fourteen on fat on a fat on fat. Yeah yanks two and a half back of the as for the second. Al wildcard if you care about fan graphs projections. I believe of the teams in the mix for the wild card. They have the highest percentage chance to reach the playoffs somewhere in the forties. They are right now. Can really put your weight behind that. You've got nest. Cortez junior and michael walker tonight. We'll have pre game on the fan at six thirty. There was the trade. After last night's game the yankees shipping out. Louis sessa and justin wilson to the reds for a player to be named later really. "That's that was the gross awarded made and you get six cents project That was the box office. And by the way national sales mike fliegelman went to see game plan in the theaters. What his family of course. Nice fifteen back then. That was a family movie. Sports movie moving was my sister who seven years younger she could go. My dad could sit through it. He probably like me enjoyed the scenes with you and marv more than anything else in the Appreciate that thank you very much. I think that's the first time i saw the rock and movie. Really the fliegelman go to the movies at the rock. Yeah boom in iraq up there and now you're you're working with one of the stars of game plan. What story star of the game plan. Isn't that amazing. "A real possibility. This is what he had to say that this was any other owner. I would be nervous about it. But since it's Mark Davis, who seems to Live in another dimension, then I I'm not so concerned about it. Um, As he said, quote, I don't even know if it's safe to play. Uncertainty is the word. Eyes what he had to say. So, uh, this is Mark Davis, though This is Mark Davis, who has had that haircut for a number of years now and thinks that it looks OK, so I don't know any of this was Jerry Jones. I think there was some sort of Ulterior motive behind what he was saying, because he's such a businessman. He's got all sorts of we say, chum in the water. I mean, Mark Davis is just he's out there, man. Just totally out there. I don't really worry about the players in the end in any of the sports. I do worry, however, about coaches. Older coach's coach is that you know, there are a number of coaches that are over 70 in the NFL. Andy Reid being one of them. I believe, well, close to 70 Bill Belichick, closest 70. Pete Carroll is over 70. You know, those are the guys that I would worry about those of the vulnerable ones. If a player gets it, most likely they're going to come right through it, and they're going to end up having to sit on the bench for 21 more days after they get through it. And then you know they're making all sorts of conditions for the roster and practice squad players and being able to sit players down. You know, 90 minutes before game time, if they do come down with the Koven 19 positive test. I mean, it's a lot of things that the NFL is doing in the NFL is dealing with more players on each team. Obviously. And Bruce Arian said it and I'll agree with him. There's a very good likelihood. A lot of these guys are going to come down with Copan, 19. There already. I think like 60 or 70 that have been tested positive that our NFL players before they even report. Much like, you know, Louis Sessa and D. J. Lo Mayhew. They had already tested positive before they reported so those guys should be in the clear. Look, we're all taking risks. The NFL Khun do everything they possibly can to keep their facilities as clean as possible separate the players in meeting rooms. Try to do the meetings outside where they can have a grab and go cafeteria and let the guys go eat wherever they want to eat. They don't have to eat in the cafeteria. They could do all of those things. But what they can't do is they can't follow the players. Once they leave the facility and where those players go and what those players do, and and how they decide to live their own lives with a mask without a mask and then come back the next day. The coaches are going to have to make an impression on the players that it is their responsibility to their teammates, Toe watch what they are doing and how they're doing it. This is the thing like like I was reading Steve Serbia's article this morning and just so you know, I texted him and I sent it back and I said, You know, Steve, I get it. You know, we had all these stars in the NFL pitch in and complain and supposedly because they don't have any idea of how the NFL's handing head Linkoping 19 when they get to their facilities are going to be shocked. Just remember, these players have been at their facilities and when they get there, and they find out what the guidelines and the rules are, they're going to understand exactly what the NFL has been putting into place, but then they also have to recognize that they are taking a risk. Much like the nurses, the doctors, the garbage men, the policeman, the fireman, You know, police, people fire people, whatever. They're all taking a risk, everybody going toe work under these circumstances. Is risking something and and the guys that are really truly were truly worried about whatever their personal situation is, Then they have to make that decision to opt out. That's all there is to it. And if somebody ops out, then somebody ops out. You know what? Wilson Chandler made a decision opting out. I'm not playing and nobody can blame him for that, because that's his decision. That's what he's doing, and that's fine. The same thing can be said for any other player in any other sport, for that matter. Yeah, And I really do think that you will have An NFL team that is going to get a scare and I'm not trying to be negative. I mean, I just I think that there is with the nature of the game and the fact that this virus is as contagious as it is, you are going to get a team that's going to get 345 people testing positive, and then you're going to think. Oh, no, there's an outbreak in this team. And then what you do. I mean, I just I believe that's the case. Um and then you're thinking, OK, all the coaches and the older coaches in this and Adam, who was going to get it. It's just It is a recipe for this virus to spread. And and that's the thing that scares me about the NFL football season is that you know all these questions that you have asked over the last several months. What happens when somebody gets it? What happens if somebody dies? What happens if one of these players gets that? Ah, that is cytokines Storm or the immune system ends up going overboard like what happens in that stuff? When there's Mohr players that are around and there Mork contact Football is the game where that could happen. The most Alright and it does. It does scare me and everything. I'm not disagreeing with the thing that you're saying about the personal risk. And who was that high risk and all those things you've got to take all that into account? But I I do believe that football is going to be the toughest to get off the ground. If we are to believe that the virus spreads in the way that it does, which I do believe. Well, here's deal training camp every every every practice will be outside. Every meeting will be socially distant. Every get together as teams will be socially distance are outside in some way, shape or form. Meanwhile, basketball players of playing basketball inside inside of a fricking ballroom..

"Five degrees in the morning and it gets colder and colder up the day every single day for the last month and it's been miserable out and you go down to Florida and it's Sunny Florida and everyone's having a good time. All all the employees are happy. You know. Everyone's relatively healthy. It will get into her in a second. But it's just such a great time time and I can't wait for us down there because I think that's coming up soon member last year it was beautiful. We had a great time but remember the game I came to a hundred guys lasted three pitches. And you were having heatstroke. We sat me and Tommy Sat in like where the food area is for five the legends area Spring Training. Yes we also went out the night before that was asked hung over but still that was we were miserable pricks. That wasn't wasn't even a hang on. That was just heat. Heat heat exhaustion. It's like look spring. Training is fun everything the Games themselves they drag a little. We were just down there and hotdogs literally we sitting down like I. I still remember that one picture. I guess you tweeted hubs of the two of US looking absolutely exact exasperate. We've been talking to each other. We were just sitting. You were like sitting there in disbelief. How is this happening? I was actually sitting in the seats for a little bit. I WanNa see Vino pitch and because we were behind we had seats like ten rose up I wanna they say behind home plate and he just wants his movement. Because it just didn't seem real this time I never seen him before In person that was cool I was getting a little baseball nerdy out there and then I came down and you guys were passed out so that was bizarre. Funny thing here though when we were down there and I remember Ford just came up by himself. Just introduce himself to us. Yeah Yeah Nice Guy. Now hearing the adopt point like he wasn't you know he was. He was on our radar. But yeah so that was cool. I did mention injuries. We we just so this whole offseason feel like we talked that right before we started the show last week. How all the news broke the night before we record a podcast and we'd be set? We Oh good to go. I got it because James Paxton's injury brought up right after we recorded the show like an hour after the show is already done But he does have it. Seems like maybe we're doing doing this. Shit Oh my thing went out usually on my headphones. Great Okay. Whatever he's out at least three or four months could be longer could be less? Seems like it might be under three months Side Boris Scott. Boris trying to spin it. That he's he's the only gonNA be out for the first third of the of the season but that's what three or four months. He was trying to make it sound better in his his phrasing. But it didn't work out that way She's got a paradise assist up classic Paradis coolest. Shut your reading disgusting Prick who says that. How how do you pronounce? Don't give fuck out for three months. Got Assist he's got a cyst. Yes the classic a-rod says strata that no nine thinking of a hip sister. Yeah why when I hear cyst I think cancer and like I don't know why it's just how my brain is program. I think maybe one person in my life have had a system turning the cancer and it was like sound cancer. I guess so. He'll be up three or four months. Basically I was trying to have one of my. My friend is a Cairo. Quick Quick James Pricing does not have cancer cancer. Free will probably not not that we weren't. We can't confirm but probably not. She's a My Buddy Nick is a chiropractor so he actually has dealt with all the ship before so I was like hey. Can you just break this down in human terms for us Fanatic Kanat Mardi. Just keep going what. It's funny now. You laughing at muddy mix. I put him on the floor. He says extremely rare if they had lower back pain with pain down his leg and he probably had treated and it didn't get any improvement so the memory. Basically he had any any Yankee fans out there. If you need any expert analysis on James Paxton drea hubs his buddy nick. They went in and he said within within a month they'll start feeling better and then he can watch chiropractic adjustment videos to hustling relaxing. TJ Now eight on dominate Elmar Action. I'm not mad about this injury. It's someone was like. Oh my God what are you guys GonNa do. When I'm like? This has been the best option like our number three pitcher. It can be out for a few months. I think we're Lee Noah Paxon's GonNa do like we know exactly what isn't do now. We have an opportunity for someone else to try and pitch at maybe be better and like oh well we have reps for someone. That's not like we know he's into I'm fine with that. He'll get some rest will be fun. It was just a little discouraging. I it's like Oh my God here. Are we go again. Because you're but this is sort of a lingering lingering injury from twenty one thousand nine so in my mind this is just one more twenty nineteen injury and like now. We're starting fresh all those injuries or out of the way. We're GONNA get him back eventually. We're going to get Hicks back. So it does sound like they held onto half for this reason as cashman. Basically we said you got King Schmidt. Herman will be back. Probably about the same time that Paxton gets back pretty much lines up that they have enough if depth where I think they can survive this. Don't don't want Louis Sessa in fucking John Elisa No. I don't think they were sort of like you. Know thrown all those names doc is now it's Montgomery is the clubhouse leader. Yeah too I mean. He's been the number. He's been in the rotation good pitcher and twenty-seven the very good yes to build off of and Tommy John who knows it because back I mean we saw him for what a glimpse at the end of the year maybe for like he pitched fished a few innings. That's it yeah very exciting toward Montgomery Michael King. As big time here. He was mentioned in the people battle. Off of the bottom rotation Clarkston I think is not being named right now as a potential thing because he didn't pitch AAA last year. And you know the pitch a full season double but that's an in the lookout for for sure in spring that guy can make headlines quickly and be like oh well. This guy's you've seen guys get caller from AA to the majors before you know the AA AAA differences. This is crazy you can just go from WWLTV a major show. Ibn Look effort. Maybe Clark's meant to make some headlines. Debbie Garcia is going to be in the mix again. We'll see if he can actually become a starting starting pitcher and get his control down. All that walks a big problem with him but he has the stuff and he's a top one hundred prospect in baseball. So certainly good enough that the thing is Garrett Cole makes everything thanks so much easier when you have Garrett Cole is your one every you can lose your number three for a little bit and getting back like if it's Garrett Cole Severino two guys we just didn't have last year those guys are still. Oh the front of the rotation everything else falls into place to Schlep out cannot live to NOCCO come three like we're good and I honestly think jay caps can have have a good year last year. He had he had looked better. And you know you never know what's going you know I. I think that he'll be better. And because he's also pitching for either investing option to hit or like a new contract of a dozen hit so I think he's you know I think he knows how to pitch. He's a veteran. Crafty lefty whatever. That's been around for why I'm confident him. Having having a bounce back year there's also the person we're not talking about that can make everything better map lake. Great pitching pretty much you know. He's he's got this new you know he's bringing all this is technology and this new way of thinking Matt Blake with Jay Hat. Maybe Jay hat becomes a pretty fucking pitcher JOE per. That's perfectly in line. We reasoning that. He could become better. So it's GonNa be a map like I'm bored. Garrick obviously helps everything. Luis Severino healthy. We're basically at a two aces. People are like. Don't talk with. I was thinking about that the other day whereas I forgot like Lewis really was not a part of last year. All no more or less like. We're getting fewer turns to twenty seventeen twenty eighteen form. It is we got we have to to now aces in just one hundred three games last year without service every no or coal like this bad jay hat. I've I think I've been forgetting about Severino. Montgomery everyone the whole world is sleeping. Lewis Fuck pitch for them last year the SEC AC and her mom was sixty how many games seventeen eighteen. Yeah I think eighteen. How many games five? I believe it is sixty. I thought it was a half season. So it's like sixty to sixty two extra extra spring training for. Yeah and what I spend. Originally only with him was that he ran into innings limit problems at the end of the year. Well he's just GonNa cut those out with these with these suspended games and ideally would paxton. Hopefully this is. His is big injury that he's out for usually has one so yeah if he gets it out of the way we just healthy packing the rest of the way and contract year contract. Boris client in a contract. Attract here sounds good to me. I mean these are all listen to James Paxton being out until June July and I hope honestly I hope they go July. There's there's no need need to rush back like last year. Don't rush him back. I know but last year it was just everyone healthy for the frog. But let's get him unhealthy for October. Which is fine? But it's like I do like seeing these guys there early on you know just like the Fan India. Sure we already talked pitchers and catchers reporting Overall this is just a great day. I've already seen Garrett Cole Walk in ever seen him throw a bullpen. Even seem soft tossing. It's this like this awesome like here. We coldest look happy to be there and we got. I think Cashman is doing a press conference at like one thirty. I don't imagine he'll talk about anything crazy. Bill is introductory to the season for the most part. We do have a few more things to talk about here with the MLB going crazy and all that before that. Let's talk to you about Roman Roman. Most guys have tried different ways to last longer but thinking about baseball doesn't always work. The folks at Roman and online men's health company are changing the game with Roman swipes wipes the secret to longer-lasting Sex Roman swipes are clinically proven way. So last.

Louis Sessa was charged with five runs over the seventh and eighth innings Boston going up eight to, to help out by a few misplace in right field by Clint Frazier Aaron Boone's Yanks did make it interesting scoring three times in the bottom of the eighth. What's remarkable as we sit over there every night? No matter what the, the compete just never goes away. I mean that's one of those games where you know, it could have just got to the score in a lot of times, you just kind of roll over a little bit. "Losing. Right. Of course, it's a while want them two years ago. And that's where they could've used the first obviously now they, they have they got basically a two. As a matter of fact. Yeah. Right. They have a couple, but Eric hosmer had a much better year and he just set the tone for this game. I mean, he did when you're down four nothing and Tanaka has a record and out. You're asking for trouble. You're asking for your offense, especially against a good arm and Eric lower. He just asking a lot and even though Tanaka settle down and kept him in the game. It was too little too late when they finally got back into it in the seventh inning. But even in that seventh inning and you said with Gary Sanchez even before that with Aaron Hicks, they had a chance, it was right there in the comeback against that policy. Bullpen hicks. You got the run in but he did it into a fourth grader. But even at that point like you said, don't know. I just going to get a big and ready. Hit a home run to the moon. He was gonna eat it other one. Yeah. Or something? At least what a season he's having with the home rumble, this seventeen now seventy eight up to seventeen six seven just to try seventeen Sanchez. I love RBI's though for seventeen well solos, but a lot of that is who's own base in front of you. You know, that's why the RBI stats and importance that I'm not going to diminish it. But a lot of it's relying on your teammates, teammates aren't on base in front of you, when you can do when there's nobody on the only amount of guys, you could drive is one. It's pretty simple. But in the eighth inning, they didn't do anything in the ninth inning. They didn't do anything. I was a little not surprised. But tyrod stratas been so good and boondocks added to pinch hit for Tiro Strada, which your shell and of course, it worked because geo your shell on two basis thought the inning to start the anybody after that the offense can do much and they lose to the Padres today. It's James Paxton. Day. And I said this yesterday. I just keep an eye on his knee. The fact that he's still saying it doesn't feel right. He's got to be on a pitch count today. Doesn't he? You would think probably so. But, but even still with this bullpen it's no big. No. I understand that. But I'm just just as far as he's concerned yesterday. They didn't have to use the top guys in their pen, they use Joe, Harvey, and Louis Sessa who both find job, didn't give him any runs the bottom line both kept him in the game. So they've got a fresh Bill Clinton wants the last time Yankees have lost the series. It's been a long time, right? The last time the Yankees have lost a series. It's got to be a while. It's a while. I'm looking right now baseball reference. I got all here, it is at Arizona. They lost the right. They got swept through games. April may I. Right. Right. So you're talking about a month a month without losing the series. Yeah. And like I mentioned a games that they've been losing or games in which they come back and you think they're going to win the last three times. They lost or three games. They very well could one. That's why it was almost the opposite of the Mets on their home stand every game. The Mets won. Felt like it was surgery, just to get that, of course with the Yankees anytime lose. Right. Right. Right. I understand. Absolutely. So this is the final game against the Padres. Then they got the series against Boston. It looks like Sobat, you'll be ready to go over the weekend. They will have another opener game that they'll have to use in this Boston series. But with this bullpen, they can do it. They could afford it. And I know the weird thing still something we're all getting used to. But the eighties of us, the opener three times this year from not mistaken two or three times. I think they've won every game. They've, they've done it with because their bullpens, so freak indeed. And I think that's made even more impressive, Joe because we look around baseball and everybody's bullpens we knew the Yankees editor Riddick bullpens thought in the year, and it's and Batanes isn't even there and it's been unbelievable. It's been on those somebody's guys you never heard on the HALE who audience guys and they go out there and they get it done. And you know what else is impressive? I know it's easy for met fans us to complain about who broke even wagons. Signed as a free agent right familiar. Justin wilson. His agent pitcher signing. Right. And I mentioned this yesterday. We'll look at the other ones most of them haven't been good David Robertson's on the injured Miller has a four Yara. That's why we gotta look at Brian Cashman, Brian Cashman signed to relievers, one he brought back when he added automatic vino. Pretty good is pretty pretty good. Now very active in Great Britain and Britain got off to a rocky start. And he's been really good. So most of these relievers, have not even been good, except the guys, the inky sign. Yeah. "It. While play a little pepper here. I do I'm hitting Dallas is kind of turned into a little like woes of major league baseball. He's kind of letting you know on Twitter that he knows. But he's not telling you what he knows. So if you're not falling Dow's braiding on Twitter, and you're a baseball fan out say now's a good time to do it. Because he's again, it's almost he's just dropping little little Easter eggs is let you know with. I'll let you know. So, but if you are in educated baseball fan, you can sort of figure it out between the lines get your that's not you know, what I mean. That's not my job. And you can you can appreciate this more than I think the listeners even Kannur anybody that might follow me because I'm texting you stuff. And I'm texting J. Hey stuff. I'm texting other guy's stuff before it happens. And then you see it unfold and you're like. Okay. Yeah. That's not my Essy's. Not my job, not my jams. Now what we're to do. So what I'm there? I just enjoyed that. You know, enjoy that information I joined that accident. Actually, just left a comment on my Instagram picture, and they said, what are you going to actually start breaking news? And I said that's like asking a quarterback when he's gonna start catching passes in the end zone. It's just we play the same sport. It's just not my job. That's not. That's not what we're here for your for. Now, we do but GIO Gonzalez lefty going to the Yankees. This was something that just flat out made sense. I was surprised it was a minor league deal because you know, that the Incas are going to need them. You know, you know, that it's going to be they they could lose use a guy like Louis Sessa in the rotation because Sobat the is down Severino's down. I mean, you're going to need a guy like geo like he's not coming in to just wait around in extended spring training report to a minor league camp, you're gonna need to right out the gate, and here's your gonna eat him out of the gate. But here's here. If you I'm sure there haven't looked at their schedule. But sure there's off days involved in there that's going to allow for rotation manipulation early on. They're not afraid. I would assume to deploy a bullpen game in an effort to to kind of stave off until the arrival of GIO. I think that mess with that in spring training either yesterday or the day before fiddle with that the only thing there is and this is what leads me to to the point. I wanna make your is Batanes. This is not going to be ready for opening day. So you don't want to you don't wanna bring those young kids up and have them make, you know, make a start or whatever started to maybe geo isn't ready. And now they've got to go into the bullpen, or you know, who knows what can happen, and you would hate to just start them there instead of out of performance out of necessity, and then kind of create a hiccup so GIO make sense. Not like he's had a ton of success out of the bullpen. He's done it. That's that's the only point. I make it's veteran who I think can sort of slide in and out if that were the case pretty wild. A guy who threw one hundred seventy one basically we average innings is taking a minor league deal like a week and a half before the season starts for centrally. No money. That's why that's why you know. I forget who it was. There are some probably John Hayman. I'm just assuming the dumbest reporter that. There is somebody said see look may Machado and Bryce Harper got their money, the system's fix it. Wasn't. There wasn't anything wrong with it. When you have a guy like geo Gonzales getting a minor league deal for peanuts. I mean, something is still wrong with the system. It's basically the equivalent of that person guy or girl that you know, who. You know, when it's re- like a cold day in the summer unusually cold. There's a water you mean global warming. "Sixty six WFAN and WFAN FM New York. These spring training battles are hilarious because think about who guys are facing when they're in the spring training battles. Right. So you've got the Yankees were the first base battle. He got the mess with the first base battle who is Dom Smith hitting against who is Greg bird hitting against Luke. Void hitting against. That's why spring training battles per se are very very tough to read. Now, if one guy is clearly outperforming the other guy, and you've determined that you want to make that decision based on spring training that makes it easy. But when you look at the four guys battling for first base jobs in New York. They've all been productive. What are we? We're going to parse numbers in spring training. We're going to say, well, you know, great Burks for a average than Luke. Boy. I mean, they're both hitting they're both performing now. The Yankee first base debate is very very annoying to me because there should. Be a first base debate number one both guys should make the team assuming they're competent. All right. It should not be a choice. Now, Aaron Boone and Brian Cashman have made it clear, it's a choice for only bringing one guy. So right off the top. I inherently disagree with them. I don't think it should be. I think carrying thirteen pitchers is excessive. Now, I think there's more of a case for carrying thirteen pitchers today than there was two weeks ago because of the uncertainty in the rotation and the fact that you're gonna fill out the rotation with guys who you're not as confident is going to go deep in a games the way Luis Severino has put thirteen pitchers is still an awful lot. And I get a big part of why they have to do it is that Louis Sesa is out of options and God forbid, they lose them can't lose Louis Sessa and more. So today because he is going to start the year on the DL because Severino is going to start the year on the DL. Boy, the Yankees could use twenty six men on the roster which will start next year. Probably not this year. But if you're gonna decide between Luke void and Greg bird, and you can tell me all day that Greg birds a lefty and Greg bird fits this lineup more and Greg bird is better defensively. You can give me that all day. Mike counter to that would be last year when Greg bird played baseball and he played half the season. He won ninety nine. That's my counter it eleven home runs. That's fine. Decent pop. He had one ninety nine. You don't care about average. Okay. He had a six seventy two. Oh PS. Let me explain that for those who don't care about it stinks. The guy is a career to fourteen hitter. But he's at thirty one home runs in one hundred and seventy six games fine. He has not stayed healthy. And he hasn't produced in the last two years most of his production came in two thousand fifteen that was four years ago and the postseason in two thousand seventeen I don't want to ignore that. Because that maps hit two home runs in the AL ES against the Indians. I'm not ignoring that he had production in the postseason. That's what Greg bird dead. Now. Luke boy comes over here and hits freaking three thirty three. He had fourteen home runs. He had an old PS near eleven hundred. So ask yourself this question. No matter what Greg bird doesn't spring training to Grado matter. What Luke void doesn't spring training? Lefty righty. Whatever are you really going to take a guy who you traded for last year. He hit three thirty three. He had fourteen home runs and forty games. He is. Actively said my goal is to win a gold glove. Not hit forty home runs. He sang all the right things. You're gonna put that guy in AAA. Really you're going to do that. How how could you do that? Now if Lugovoi plays in April and hits one forty five fine down. I'm not telling you you've got to marry Luke Voy. I'm not saying you've got to make a long term commitment to look void. I'm not suggesting that what I'm suggesting is that how could you possibly send Luke void to AAA based on all of the regular season numbers that Greg bird, and Luke void have shown you over the last year or plus and Greg birds case, it's not a debate. And if it's close at all, even if it wasn't close the decision is, Luke. See what the decided to do. I think the eighties preferred Greg bird because he's a lefty I think they prefer Greg bird because they love Greg bird. But that being a debate is frustrating Alonzo, Dom Smith is a different story. Okay. I- Dom Smith is still easing that. Greg. Berg league of Smith has been given so many opportunities. I don't care what he doesn't spring training. You know, there's nothing Dom Smith is gonna do that's gonna make me believe in them. I'm on at that point with the guy. I think him coming into camp in good shape gives you new hope he still only twenty three years old. And so I think Dom has the edge for two reasons he has the edge from defensive perspective. And I think he has the edge because of the service time situation that involves Peter Lonzo. So I think that's a true debate in both guys have perform opening day with Tanaka. Look, Masahiro Tanaka from an accomplishment standpoint should be the opening day starter for the New York Yankees. But whenever we get into these opening day debates, whether it's what the Yankees or whether it's the Mets it really doesn't matter. Because if I ask you as a Yankee fan who started opening day in two thousand eleven do you remember if I asked you as a met fan Rasco as big met fan he goes to a lot of opening days. I'm going to ask you right now. Rest going are you ready? Sure. All right. Opening day. And look it up two thousand thirteen who started opening day for the New York Mets thousand thirteen opening day New York Mets. Harvey. No, the answer would be Jonathan niece. But that's the point. Who cares? It doesn't matter that right after the big contract. I forget when they signed. And the funny thing is Giannis pitched really well and the Mets won that game. Eleven to two against the San Diego Padres on Monday, April. First two thousand thirteen Giannis pitched six and two thirds innings and only allowed two runs. And then the bullpen of Brandon Lyon, Scott atchison, and Scott rice shut the door after they pounded Edison volquez. You don't remember? That's the point. That's why. Yes, I think Tanaka deserves it I trust Tanaka more than any other Yankee pitcher in a big spot given the baseball assuming he Southie throw them out there. But it's it's it's become such an unmemorable thing. And what's funny is when I was a kid. It was a bigger deal. I don't know. What's happened? Maybe because there are just less aces. Maybe that's the thing. I don't know. It just doesn't seem to matter as much last year's another example Jacob degrom deserve to start opening day last year. He did it because he had a back issue at the beginning of spring training and a pushed him back about a week and that cost them opening day. It doesn't matter. Noah Syndergaard pitched opening day. I said, Luke our I don't even remember who pitch last year. Really, you don't remember that. There was no now. Now, I have vivid memories of it. Because and I expressed my feelings to how I didn't see the wreath. That's how we talked about that last year. The last couple of years, you may maybe you didn't realize this. The Mets have not been in our radio stations family. I don't know if people realize that they run a different radio station, and for that reason we do opening day from Citi field, and we stayed on the air to one. So when the show would end at one I would fly over the city field as fast as I could. And I would miss the first inning and a half to winning. So I would I wouldn't see the repeater. But unlike is it a reef or e af is that what it is. Now, it's a wreath, but W R E H, correct? Okay. Arief is like a barrier. Reef fishing, Carl hang out. I just want to confirm that should be the Twitter poll question. I could ask is it a reef or? I bet you a lot of people will get it wrong. I bet you anyhow. So I had to race over to the game as fast as I legally could. And what I'd never forget from last year is the abomination of what they did to the radio broadcast. They just they completely ruined. How he rose and Josh Lewin broadcast by putting I don't even remember who on and it annoyed me to no end. And so I remember specific like, Noah Syndergaard. But I just remember that first inning and a half because I was so angry that I was dealing with that. And now we don't have to deal with it 'cause opening day, we're broadcasting live from guess where city fail baby. But the opening day thing does it matter. The velocity thing. The velocity thing would Matanzas. It also really doesn't matter. Now, I know that when you see a guy, and here's the funny thing about spring training if Noah Syndergaard is throwing one zero one we freak out. What are you doing? It's spring training. You're throwing tour de LA Matanzas, those eighty eight oh my God. What's he doing? He's not throwing hard enough. What do you want? What's that? Perfect number guys. Get ready for the season in a very different way. You have to hope that if and Matanzas and feeling right? He's gonna say something the way Luis Severino did. So I try not to look at velocity good and bad and read too much into it. When we're in the middle of the season, and maybe not even the first few weeks of the year because don't even said a in may I'll be back to my, you know, my full velocity May June. And you see a number considerably down you start to get a little worried about it. But here in March, I don't worry about much and I've learned that over the years because I love spring training. I was there last week. I was at the game scoring the game. I'm into it. Put a week and a half in when I've already seen enough spring training baseball. I realized that all that matters is getting through this thing in one piece even the numbers. Don't matter. Wilson Ramos and Robbie can on the Mets side or having big camps. Gary Sanchez has done nothing offensively for the Yankees. None of it matters. That's why when we talk about battles for jobs, it's tough to read too much into it. Let alone the veterans do you? Remember rally Banias with the Yankees one Cam. I think he was like one for thirty five something absurd. Just couldn't hit. And by the end of it. We're all saying oh boy. Bagna seventy thing left in his forties. You know, maybe this is it for him is a veteran. Give him a shot and he starts the season red hot. So even with that good and bad. It's getting to opening day in one piece and both the keys in Mets haven't done that. So far Luis Severino is not getting there in one piece. We know that Arad Hicks is now become a question because of the back issue, though, I think they're very hopeful that he'll get there in one piece on the met side if I had to bet right now, I don't think Todd Frazier jet Lowry getting there. I think Jeff McNeil playing third base. Tomorrow is a big indicator of that. So it's really just get to March twenty eighth in one piece more than anything. Because right now, I am at the point. What are we less than three weeks from opening day, which is crazy, especially when you look outside? There's snow everywhere. I'm at the point where I'm just sick of it. Just get to the real stuff giving you the real baseball..

"Gloucester to see you, buddy. You're closer to retirement, right? We are dropping on the Aaron Boone press conference right now right here on WFAN Aaron should be up in a minute. Thanks for letting us do is press conference. Good afternoon. Everyone. Welcome back to another spring training. George came to see you have Aaron Boone here for the first day of camp. And I guess. I guess we could just really start with some questions. I have. I'll stop at some point give you guys a few and gals. A few updates in the next couple of days. Everybody can plan accordingly. Welcome. Welcome back. Thanks for the time. We can start with questions. We have wireless mics on both sides Meredith. We could start with you on the left. Erin. How different does it feel walking to the podium this year with a year under your belt? And what did you learn last year that you're going to try to implement in your second season? I don't know how much different because it's. A couple of times. It's just this living organism that every day is a continuation of from where you began. So I guess in some way looking back. Certainly feel way further ahead of the game. Just in my knowledge of our organization. The relationships I have within our organization not just with our players, but all the people in the front office all the people behind the scenes that I know. You know, who they are know about their families know what their role is nowhere to go for something that I might be looking for. So there's no question that. Just being much further along at this point. But in a lot of ways I feel like I walked in fairly comfortable last year at this time. Now, what was the? Was was spring training. Look living living in the northeast now as I do spend a lot of time at the stadium. So a lot of conversations that span the entire off season the entire winter. With small things that we're trying to implement or want to implement that that will implement a little bit here in spring training. I think in a lot of ways spring training will look very similar to last year. But there's definitely some things that hopefully, we continue to evolve as a club that hopefully allow us to improve all the time on the margins in helpless reach our peak from row on the left. Eric. In regard to the big expectations that accompanied the team last year. You said your message to the team was go out there and expect to be great embrace those expectations is the message the same this year. There's no question will will embrace those. I have an address the team yet. So not sure exactly how I'll put it. I'd like to get up in front of him anytime whether it's to start spring training or over anytime during the season where I dress the club. I like to go out there. And and kind of let it rip and say what I'm thinking. I mean, they'll they'll certainly be some things that I hit on. She's me with our club the first day. But for the most part I like to get up and and kind of speak from the heart about. You know, our expectations and. But there's no question will will embrace those expectations. I think everyone. That's been here awhile. And certainly the new guys coming in. I think understand what goes along with. Having the kind of club. We potentially have and being within this organization that the expectations are great. So we welcome that we look forward to that. And and hopefully this year we get to the top of the mountain. Same row Sweeney. Aaron how much better is your rotation coming into spring and given situation. Do you feel like you have enough depth to have it be a good rotation to take you where you wanna go? I do I mean health, obviously as with just about every club is is important with us. And it's important that. You know, we remain relatively healthy. There's there's obviously going to be attrition during the year. Or even even when things go perfect guys are probably going to miss a start here and there, but we feel like we have people within the organization right now capable of filling in. But you know, I think staying healthy within our starting rotation and relatively healthy is obviously a key. For depth. I mean, you're talking about Domingo Herrmann. Elisa. Chance atoms. Michael king who's come onto the scene. A lot. And then guys that will emerge along the way that you don't necessarily count for Louis Sessa who maybe his ticketed for pen. And a lot of ways is a guy we know this capable of going out and starting as well. So we feel like we have a lot of internal options and a lot of internal options that especially in a fill in role are capable of being very good pitchers for us. Bruce in the middle. Air. You went one hundred four games last year. But it's this team presently constituted your mind better than a year ago. I hope so. We feel like I feel like, you know, Brian and his staff has done a great job of of adding reinforcements to our team. I think creating even greater depth forest going into this year. Probably a few more moving parts a few more guys. You know, we expect to have more versatile roles. But that really play into our depth, obviously. Adding some of the the pictures that we've added both starters and relievers. I feel like as we sit here in early February on paper, we'd probably look a little bit stronger. But now, we gotta go out and make sure we keep guys healthy keep guys posting and deliver on what we believe is a really good club. All the way in the back middle, Andy. Excuse me, obviously as to what about Sanchez through the course of the season last year. And now that he's back, and he's had the shoulder taking care of how do you think that will impact him offense and defensively now in terms of how you can be optimistic about in this year? Yeah. I think it certainly helps and to see. You know, how he's kind of evolved over the last month from his progression. From from from that surgery. He's doing really well. His bodies in really good shape. I think he's going to have a great year for on both sides of the ball. I'm really excited about his frame of mind right now. And and we're counting on and expecting him to go out and be a great player for us. Who else Brennan up in the front? You mentioned being excited about his state of mind right now. What about it excites? You is there something different than last year times last year when he was struggling, you know, what I just think he's a year more mature. I think going through some of the things he went through last year. I've said this a lot with you guys is. Bumps in the road struggles, especially as a young player. Can be great things in the in the grand scheme of things for a career, especially when you're as talented as a guy like Gary, and there's no question that I think the things he went through last year physically. I think will benefit him going forward. And I just. I've spent some time with them this off season went down the Dominican spent some time in the conversations I've had from I feel like there's it's a young player. That's another year long another year mature, and in a guy that frankly is very hungry to go out and show the world. How good a player is Brian back to the front left. Aaron what's your read on where Troy till Lewinsky is right now have you seen him play? And what would your plan be if he can't make it through the spring, healthy, right? Feel like he's in a good place. You know, obviously, the big question for Troy, first of all he's in great shape. We worked out pretty extensively before we sign them. In felt really good about where he was physically in that. He's over some of the injuries that have really plagued him over the last year and a half two years. So we'll try and be very vigilant. As far as his schedule goes in obviously communicating with him where he's at but trying to develop a plan that that kind of evolves a little bit that we talk about almost daily as far as you know, obviously got to see how he bounces back, you know, and. As far as you know, if there are health issues, and we break, then we we feel comfortable being able to move glacier over to shortstop, and obviously having DJ gold glove second baseman, we feel really comfortable from a debt standpoint that we can handle that. But as we sit here right now, we're we're very optimistic about what Troy's going to bring. But but even best case scenario will and I will try and protect them certainly in spring training. But but even early in the season and just probably not, you know. Overdoing it too much even if things are going very well. Buster to the right. And then Jack to the left. Couple of quick follows one will you have to Lewinsky workout, anywhere other than shortstop during the course of spring training. And when he went down to suck Gary and saw Gary and Dominican what did you learn about him that you didn't know before? The plan right now is for Troy to get ready to play shortstop. And and that's where we'll we'll he'll pour his focus into and. And then, you know, as as the week says the months on full will adjust if we need to, but we're planning on him playing shortstop and focusing solely there with Gary. I feel like I've developed a really good relationship with them over the last year. You know? We've had a lot of conversations. Over the past year. So I don't know necessarily learning more. I think getting to go and have dinner with him and his wife and in his country. And to just deepen the relationship in to see him talk passionately about. Things that matter to him, and I just feel like. I do feel like there's been a growth their maturity there. That comes out when when you're when I'm around him. When I talked to him now is a real hunger to go out and show the world. What a good player he is. That's that's what feels palpable to me about him right now. And where he's at not only physically because he's in a really good place physically in his body's in good shape. And you know, all the testing that he's doing behind the scenes suggests that he's physically in a really good place. But I think mentally I feel it feel like he's ready to go out. And and. You know in a lot of ways take charge. Jack. Aaron when Bruce asked you if you thought that the twenty nine thousand nine hundred team could be better than the two thousand eighteen team. You said I hope so in order to eventually be able to say yes, you are better than last year's team. What are some of the specific areas that need to improve some of the specific players that need to improve. Yeah. I mean, I think. Certainly you look to some guys that maybe had down years. I think there's reason to expect that they could balance back in have more consistent campaigns. I feel like the depth that we've created within our team feel like even if we're healthy, you know. Will probably end up having some really good option since a really good player sitting in triple A ready to have major contributions at some point during the year. I feel like. Again on paper are rotation. And even our bullpen is feels of even a little bit stronger as we sit here today. But when I say, I hope so is that we're sitting here and it's early February. So in a lot of ways the talk about it is cheap. We have tremendous expectations. And I think we rightfully have those expectations. But now, we gotta go out and do it. In the middle right here until the left. And you mentioned about embracing those expectations and wanted to get to the top of the mountain, hopefully as their general tone or message you wanna set within his opening weeks, even though to just February. From my standpoint. Yes. With the team that you like to set tomorrow's the first workout as you know, and then the team eventually show. Sure. In now, hold back on divulging that you know, again, it's something that I liked it. When I get up and talk to the guys it's from the heart. I mean, I'll certainly have some things in mind that you know, I wanna drive home with the guys, but. Hold off on that. Until till I speak with them. But. They'll they'll understand. Where I'm coming from. And how I feel and look I mean I have conversations and communicating with my guys all the time throughout the winter. So a lot of ways it's just an extension of some of the text messages some of the conversations that I have with guys throughout the winner in of trying to set that tone as we we start in February. From right, George and Pete..

That might be stretching. You're right. That's a stretch stretch to fourteen. With the audience like that seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six although I will say this marash in my ear had an urgency to his voice. Did you not? Yeah. Drew hodgin signs. You want to be the first on top of it. Let's go. What do you think Yankee fans, I think anything is better than Louis Sessa and mop up duty? Well, not about this. What did you think about Johnny lasagna? What do you think about g j LeMay gave means we're not getting Manny Machado? That's the best news Yankee fan get here. So I'm pumped. I don't get it, Mike. Yeah. I'm down on Manny as some of these. I got to the point where I wanted him. But honestly, I don't disagree with them. I think this is many good flexible players, you can we're seeing that's the way baseball is. And to your point about being and catching up to the Red Sox. You hope LeMay, Hugh is a Steve Pearce. You hope one of these guys comes through. He's a put back on the kind of put the bat on the ball kind of guy. Flexible plays. Good defense doesn't strike out. You hope he comes through with a couple of big hits. And if you do look at it fairly in the postseason, it was kind of the difference. They had guys would put the bat on the ball and came through a tough clutch at bats. And the Yankees had a bunch of guys listen, so I just get worried about that shortstop position. At least favorite part of it. Because I don't want gleyber worried about playing positions. I don't want it in his head. I don't want to have to play shortstop twice a week. And and I base three time second base three or four times a week. I don't like that. I agree with you on that. I would rather have someone I know is going to play shortstop the differences. I think too low can do it. Now, the question is Kenny county, and you want the contact as you said better. Veteran regard absolutely struck out eighty two times in one hundred twenty eight games and. And. That's the roof. And absolutely is. Now, the batting average has gone down consistently the last three years from when agree won a batting title. But it's Colorado. I mean, you know, you're gonna hit. If you look at his home in road splits atrocious. He's a much better player in court Ville. Yeah. So it is something everybody. Everybody who plays. They're all right to seventeen at eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six. We have got our picks coming up. We're gonna talk about the games this weekend. Coming up in a lot more calls coming up as well. But right now is the perfect time to get that old boiler out of your basement. And replace it with a high efficiency peerless boilers, listen don't enough to tell you you walk out of the house this morning. It's freezing. It is freezing. I mean, you know, I my nipples were coming right through my jacket. That's how cold it wasn't sporting close to it. Yes. Was that cold? You do not want to get caught in a situation where that boiler goes right now. And you're trying to get the guy out to the house to fix it. And he's got a line of about ninety people. And you're all of a sudden the next thing, you know, hanging out with the Springhill suites for a week. You don't want that right down the road blowing two hundred ten dollars.

"Dave Dave trying to say he's not high on James Paxton, I am not high gyms. That's that's that was that's translation from it. That was that. I like Paxton I think Severino when healthy is is an ace, obviously. But helped me with the rest of this j hap is obviously back and you have a guy like CeCe. And then me and the starting five is basically said, would you agree? I mean to knock is not going anywhere. He's got a full no trade clause and making forty five million over the next two years. The rotation is as like, you know, as you stated Severino is going to be the one I think Tanaka to Paxton three half four C C five, and you know, you look at, you know, the one biggest thing with the rotation is you have three lefties have Paxton MCC. And if you look at just the overall super teams the dodgers cubs Red Sox and Yankees were the only teams last year to have over twenty plus starts from three or more left handed pitchers. And I think that's going to be a trend where you're going to start to see a lot more left handed starting pitchers try to take shape because of the way in Olympic saw in how certain ballparks are being configured. We're going back to you know, the rotation with the Yankees, I think there are a couple of guys who could maybe be long relievers like Louis Sessa. You also have to Mingo her mind who was a long reliever last year, and then was sent down because of struggles after he took over for, you know, a spot when we lost a couple of guys to injury mainly. Gumri? I remember perfectly Montgomery got hurting Houston. And then he's got her at at a Yankee Stadium to mingle Herrmann came in and was lights out but ever since that point he started fate. So you have to wonder about that. But then you got a couple of kids who could compete for at least a chance to be in the bullpen the first month or so because at least in April, you'll need a five starter until the last week of of that month, and you've got guys like Michael king chance Adams who I've heard about for years, and you wonder about his prospect status going forward. So there are options is just that. There aren't a lot of the sexy names that you would expect to hear from the eighties. Yeah. I mean, one big name that was sexy last year, obviously, not anymore. New York is Sonny gray last year arbitration. He's been linked to a bunch of different teams smaller market teams. I think that I think he pretty much fits the Bill for a perfect Oakland, which he was but a big put the Padres would be appropriate smoker. He doesn't do out pressure. He doesn't do. Well with criticism. He doesn't do well with booze. It doesn't do well in big moments. And at least on a big team that's been shown here. The short term for the Yankees looks a little scary. Even though it is set like Austin said, I mean, the ones or five-set you agreed. But Tanaka older in has like a five yard last couple of years. Have I think has getting a little bit old? And when he plays good teams. He struggles CC I mean when he's on the mound. He's gonna give you five innings. Maybe six it's perfect five-star though, nothing wrong with that Paxton. Although I'm not the highest on him. I don't think he's in ace. He's a very good two or three of as a great degree as a solid to where sunny Greg O because he's not gonna be on the I'd be shocked to see him opening day roster..

"The Yankees should be minus four seventy. I agree. I don't get it. I don't get a metaphor. You're on to something. Red Sox won the World Series. You heard it here. First crop is pretty good. Severino was gonna win the Cy Young. So he was smart. So before we end I, I wanted to have one quick story about so Brian Johnston, starting for the Red Sox on today, Thursday since this quick sort of inter borstal story last Memorial Day, everyone was away, but me I was working the Anki aim for Fordham. So I was looking only person that company. It wasn't away chart running the Instagram and Twitter and posting all these stories than all the personalities or sending to me percentage from the boys during Saturday's it for the voice promos. They Texans man put him on Twitter, Instagram story. Jared, texted me. And that point I don't think I'd even maybe even ever met. Jared, I don't think it moves to New York yet. He texted me a video of him and the man on the street, and they're like outside a bar and, oh, sorry for the boys. And I threw it up on Twitter and Instagram, and I captioned it as like, oh, Jared, cross and his crew. No, the deal excited for the boys or whatever. Good. Recognize just want John's friend and then I. I start to feel like reply. So the tweet, it's like that's Brian Johnson, and it was like the day that I think he threw remember threw a complete game shutout. It was. Like really like in one early in his season last year and ever Bryant. I texted jarred and I was like, oh, sorry. I didn't know like to stand in the thing that's Brian Johnson, Dr. Teeter household never recognized Bryan. Bryan Johnson, sorry, man. Like like, yeah. Oh, yeah, whatever got it through the complete game shutout today, like post to know who Brian Johnson was, and he was this big name. So quick quickly story hopefully wreck Maher. He's still he's been in the office. I'm almost in the Senate, his seats, one of the games in in Anki stadium when mean crops for filming. So I think there's a solid chance. Well, I guess not Friday. Yeah, Friday because he stirs. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna either beyond the field or next field, like during batting practice and probably meeting all these guys, so I'll probably go to. So hopefully Brian Johnson gets shell. Hey, nice outing. Fuck, fuck face. It. Come over. Also breaking Luke boy and Louis sesser being called up. What. ROY and Louis Sessa are called up to the major. We're like already calling Luke void that already happened. I saw earlier today that that was likely going to happen because they wanted as bad. We can. Lewis. I thought he was just gonna stick. Wow, okay. He's got some up. Yeah. That's awesome. Did they say what the counter move is. I haven't seen now. Canham maybe hope. Hopefully, Shane Robinson just get on my face. Where'd you speculate safely will mean that's a start on Saturday? I would think he does. I don't think has the chance of starting. I thought that was all smoke for the most part, I would get maybe one move could be going to the l.. Maybe like retroactive shit. Yeah. And. I don't know what else. Listening to no more than us at this dot right now when you listen tomorrow, thanks for listening. Now this is another episode of the short porch. I'm going to be in Fenway if you're at Fenway by any chance now come say, I, I'll be around. I'll be on concourse and everywhere will be the bars the entire weekend. So should be fun time. You'll have an easy time, recognizing the guy who has no hair and wearing Yankee gear because I'm not afraid to do that on my crops in extreme. That is our show. Thank you. Thanks to Joseph fly again. He was great. And yeah, we'll we'll catch you after we take three or four and it will..

"Yeah, I think he's going to be a really solid. I thought someone tweeted today, you know he made this. This Yankee game is boring because of day happened. That's a good thing. We need some stability in the rotation. He's basically is your classic prototypical veteran lefty. I don't know if you're on the word crafty out because he he can, you know, ninety three ninety four maybe he's losing any five. Yeah. So he he, you don't call them the craft. Lefty, but he had the element to them where you've trust him, and I think he's going to be a really good presence down the stretch. I, he's the guy that you know every time he steps out of the mountain. I'm gonna feel pretty confident where, yeah, maybe not gonna you know, I'm not gonna expect each innings every time, but I feel like every time he goes out keeps you think he's the game that's like down the stretch with the quest with the rotation, having many question marks up, it was just nice to not see. Lewis says out, they're like, okay, we have changed half like I'm gonna get a solid start today. I just know it's going to have more. It says it's like what inning is he can exploded, you know, it's like says a ticking time bomb. Moore's Jay have is not exactly. That's what hap- provides over is even needs to be aced out of stretches needs to be better than Louis Sessa and the bar for that is not super high dude. If you give a six innings of one run ball, every time here out there that is unbelievably fun. I call that the Shaun Koen line. That's what he gave, I believe almost exactly, and it's start when he got acquired and he's done that. He did that a lot them that's structure call six one run in my mind will always be the structure. It was very CC like start like he doesn't. He doesn't strike out guys, you know, usually it's about five or six. Maybe sometimes a little higher in that if you had eight year yesterday, but. In not a lot of hard contact at all. Yeah, the home run, but even that like it like, you know, as short porch home run for the most part. Oh, no. It wasn't no way. I'm thinking of yesterday. No, a president actually shot, but that was that was it. I mean, that was the only piece of hard contact. All that home run was so weird. It presents Homer and it seemed like they were playing it also mega Patty surprised by. At one way, right, right. That's why I felt it. Okay. There was something weird about I couldn't put my from foot a finger to it, but overall he did a very good job. Offense was pretty solid. Aaron Hicks hits the. He has three hits on the day. He owned the royals this year like four hundred batting. Average nine runs scored five Rb is he on the roads this year? It's a laser. Two run Homer is actually in the car. Since the call and Hicks Hicks hits ones, the sticks that might be my favorite. Sterling home run, call Hicks. It's one of the six. I don't know. I like it so simple, but affective. Yeah. And I ended up listening to Kay's on the way back and sterling new right off the bat. That ball is gone. Like almost on contact went into the Hongkong k. was like, didn't know his fair foul. But I guess sterling really doesn't care if it's fair afoul. He goes into Carlos. So when it the ball is fair, he looks like he's like the smartest person on earth because he's going to do it no matter what and we'll get to it. But I mean the workers. I mean, I'll just say there I wanted to smash my car radio to peace in all my John Carlos slam today. I don't listen to ton of games.
