81% of Low-Income San Diegans Spend Most Income on Housing

"Shows there are more than 130,000 low income families in San Diego that don't have access to affordable housing. Marie Cornell was reporting partner 10 News spoke to housing advocates on how to bridge the gap. A new report from the San Diego Housing Federation shows 81% of low income families are paying more than half of their income on housing costs, a statistic housing advocates fear will trend up. As more big companies purchase housing developments. Folks come in, purchased the buildings and then raise the rents to what the current market is. And so we've seen a huge loss of naturally affordable housing in San Diego, and that's why the San Diego Housing Federation is pushing for legislation. That would help organizations like nonprofits in acquiring property, keeping rents at an affordable rate. They're also asking the state to pitch in $500 million to help with this effort. Advocates say. In addition to building more affordable homes, we should preserve current homes to make sure they remain affordable with

"Alex. Thank you so much for joining us on dressed. thanks for having me those so honored. Yeah of course of course and today. of course we're going to speak about rudy gernrich and before we go any further. I just want to point out that it's really gernrich not kern reich. Yes because apparently. I have been saying this incorrectly for a very long time. Well lou. Thir- makes his point. She interviewed him for her book for the rudy gernrich book. She's mary lou luther as a journalist and she made this point that he corrected her and said it's gern rick and that's what he says on batman with a show. That was prerecorded tapes. And everything in so you know that. That's how he wanted. It said but i would put a little note on this. Which is that in two thousand or somewhere around there harry. Hey his boyfriend who will talk. Probably mentioned in the show was interviewed about him any referred to him as really gern reich. So i don't know what to do with that but just throwing it in there. Maybe he changed it. Maybe he changed it in the fifties. Because that's how he wanted to be known that but i'm making that up. I don't know exactly right but we're going to call him rick for the purpose of our wants to be known as would you tell us a little bit about what were the highlights of rudy's career. What what did he mean to the history of american fashion. Because i think we're going to go through a lot of these points by point as we go on through the episode but he really meant so much to contemporary fashion today. There's three things that i think about with really gernrich to about the career in one about not about the career. I is sort of interesting paradox. to me i love paradoxes. But if you think about most designers most fashion designers their most famous things the most famous things they make are things that you know into the real world and become real objects and influence fashion

A highlight from Under My Skin

"Hey, how're you doing this morning. Good to have you back. And I hope you're ready for today. It's going to be an interesting day. Today is going to be the day that I do something that most people don't expect or don't like prisons to do because it seems so out of character for Christian but bear in mind now. There is such thing as righteous indignation but see. That doesn't come from the Christian. That actually comes from one. That Christian spends most of his time with being christ and quite frankly no Christian can really ever admit to having anything rightist in and of itself because it doesn't exist so when we do talk about things or Point things out. That isn't right away. Like I'm going to do today is basically going to run . But here's the thing is about things that are as anti-god as you can get and don't get me wrong. There's nothing in me. That is absolutely rises. Accept cries to his Emmy and who by the way is quite righteous enough to point out sayings that I'm going to talk about today and the thing is it's not about being a hypocrite. Because i will be the first one to tell you that. I have a hard time sometimes walking Christian wall because god does set the bar pretty high however he does make it possible to reach that ball whether we reach that bar at any particular time is entirely up to us and because of this war with the place that kind of complicates things a little bit but it does get better with time so I guess what I'm trying to say is once a person an one who is lost approaches the cross in total repentance and accept Jesus as the savior that does not mean that person just became one hundred percent perfect. If that person lived as chris for the next two hundred years he would be nowhere near perfection. so I'm just saying that is the beginning of moran. I'll go into it later. But the idea is to remember first of all one who is saved still has to war with the old self because you know his mind and his flesh is still pretty. Well existent okay. And as far as perfection goes no human being on the face of the planet war ever be perfect in this place in this world. So you know. I think. I'm saying that more because more than anything. Because I'm getting tired of being called a hypocrite because are not made. But I'm speaking of the Christian body of people calling Christians hypocrites because we still deal with the human element and the people that do this. Talk about our hypocrisy. I mean I'm assuming this because you know what God expects of us. And I'm just to say you now. If you know what God expects of you, then you can't take the spec out of anybody else's I when you got a beaming your wrong. So let's try to put a lid on that. But i'll be back in just a few minutes and i'm going to discuss a few things and i hate to even admit it but i saw i've been seeing things on Facebook and I say things you know walking down the street or in the grocery store i hear things all the time on. It really gave me Fired up I'm not gonna lie. Gets me fired up. But i will say this before. I decided to do anything with this show today. Operate about it so you're going to get inside of me today. I hope. But I'm still going to discuss a few of these things because I think we really need to pay attention to these things and yes I'm gonna run about it but don't worry it won't be so bad if already prayed about it. I've calmed down a little bit right now. I am going to take a brief break. Lou recess at you will. I'll be right back. They'll go away. I

Ot and lou figured he understood well enough to formula to create the same success quickly walking away from his blimp thing he founded a new this one call transcontinental records transcontinental records had neither records nor did it span the length or breadth of any continent. What had had was an understanding that success in the music industry didn't need to rely on trying to find talent and hope to capture that lightning in a bottle instead. Music was no different than any other industry with the right ingredients and formula success was simply a matter of creating a product to meet a customer need and then marketing the shit out of that so little perlman a short fat bespectacled little man us three million dollars of his own money and he held a talent search. Would you call it his own money. Would you call his own money. He decided that he had taken it yet. He was temporary custodian of that money. Okay all right so from that blood from that talent. Search program picked out five kids. None of whom had any substantial commercial success of their own yet and sign them to transcontinental records is newly minted label. These five teenage boys moved into perlman's massive orlando residents and began their training to become the backstreet boys. Took voice lessons. They drilled and practice in hot on air conditioned blimp hangars because he had in the florida heat he they really seven days a week. They played every gig. They could manage to get these kids. Were not an organically formed band with a sound of their own or some great artistic reason to be but they fucking worked and the work with promo salesmanship. It paid off. They became the backstreet boys and they would go on to sell a hundred and thirty million dollars of records. They went gold platinum and diamond in forty five different countries. They were working and they weren't alone because prome unrealized even as he was doing it. That building one singing meat. Puppet cash machine was great. Suddenly line all worked up. It only makes sense to keep producing shit so we followed the same principles and lou pearlman source five new teenage boys out of nowhere stuck them in his house and literally just created the product. Sorry the band in sync nailed close very close sink. Sold seventy million dollars in records. It was also internationally successful at creating screaming preteen fans by the millions. Okay maybe lou. Pearlman had a song and his heart. Did you think of that. Did the boy bands or two bands like five people today. Fight like fucking power. Rangers chew was pick a side. It would take a huge rivalry between them which rangers style rivalry going on. Yes was it was kind of fascinated that many of you know. I don't what you're fucking excuse team instinct by the way all day. Yeah justice on inside. Now if i ask how. Many band members there were in in sync or backstreet boys. You'd probably answer five and if you could name all of them on nick how he aj. Brian kevin chris jc. Joey just yet. I would lose respect for you forever. Is i mean well. And crazily heath. You're also raw. There were six members of in sync and backstreet forever banned the perlman manufactured. He was also the six member and he was the producer and he was also the manager. Okay and he was all of these roles not just for in sync and for every other band that he shit out of his vocals and corio factory including town l. f. o. Take five us five and the five version. He gave a world to in. Oh sense which is wrong with an s. I don't it's a lot of wing area jerry. It was sure is it. Fair is it was always the same structure. Five rondos plucked from relative obscurity and then dumpy old lou pearlman the silent sixth member manager and producer of each of these bands again. I just want to point out that. I had no idea how many members there were in either of those bands. I just i don't want my name is probably would've gasify. After a few years of crushing the charts and touring at a grueling relentless pace. Some of the members of the band began to wonder if they were going to get paid for any of this work. Why are these role just teenagers. When lou made the mideast megastars and they don't know shit about shit so parents time and in sync we're touring and selling out. Stadiums and cds were just flying off the shelves and untold. Hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue is being generated. These kids were getting paid. They got some shitty inconsequential per diem.

"lou it" Discussed on Citation Needed

"Hello and welcome to citation needed. The podcast which uses object read a single article about it on wikipedia. And pretend we're experts because this is the internet and that's how it works now i'm on. I'm just a dude. Play in a dude disguises. Another dude but i'm not the only one whose humanity has been turned into a few quirky character traits by. Eli we have a whole cast of those people. The first guy. Who's the smartest dumb person on the planet and the guy who gets high and his madel a lot. Tom and noah you wanna look good you have two choices. Be actually excellent or carefully. Choose who you are compared with. Hello friends on the podcast. What's with all these hippies at these damn dispense also joining us tonight. A noodle loving fellow who's into stepsisters. Andy tall noodle loving fellow into stepsisters. See some of us revel in our newfound immortality noodle loving incest. The disaster never die. Yeah no it was good. it's a beautiful headstone. you live patrons. We spend hours a week writing recording and editing. This show and you give us money for that so thanks also anyone else who's listening. You can give us money for them if you'd like to learn how to do that. Be sure to stick around till the end of the show without other way. Tell us what person place thing concept phenomenon or event would be talking about today. We'll be talking about by three quarters of the way through the essay hero and tom. Are you ready to tell you the fuck. This is. Every word i say is true. This promise. i don't care. I'll preface it though. I sell to our whole time. Who was lou pearlman. Well if you're like me and you spent your misbegotten youth studiously avoiding boy bands. Because he felt like they were inauthentic and manufactured and you always felt like they were just lying to you but in harmony you'd be and hopelessly admitting just how right you actually were so today. I'm going to tell you the story of the man who not only manufactured the ear cancer that was backstreet boys 'n sync and a host of others but also the story of exactly how wildly you almost certainly barbara. Bush has them misunder estimated the gravity of this very bizarre situation today. I'm going to tell you. The story of lou nineish nelson was a single imo. Boy van boy. I read made fun of the koran once a month for a year. But if you're about to come for a pop in this essay on our. I'm not mobilizing those guys me. I'm not giving much away here. When i tell you that lou pearlman was a connor. Yes sink was the amway. I start the betsy devos. Very few con artists come into their trade quite so young as lou. When pearl was a young man growing up in flushing new york. He was not a popular or well liked young man. He was a chubby unhappy. Little jewish kid but he had dreams of making it big and according to as much ballyhooed origin story perlman had his first big business idea watching the local paper boys deliver their wares door to door round flushing. According to perelman he realized that certain customers had preferences on their paper delivery someone of the paper and the matt. Someone like door knocked on the paper. Hand-delivered that sort of thing so we'll perlman did was he took notes on what each customer wanted. In there i guess weirdly bespoke newspaper delivery. It's then perlman bought out the routes of all the local paper boys and then hired his own team of delivery. Guys all of them. Deliver the papers exactly the way their customers wanted it. The grateful customers of course tipped much better for the better service and perlman had a nice little passive income stream. Before you'd even grown hair on his balls nowadays he would have just been invented. An app called like papper for some guy to throw a paper in your neighbors bushes. But you tip give five stars anyways except like most things about lou. This story was total bullshit. They can't just sublet their paper routes. That's crazy it didn't happen true story. I arranged an entire paragraph of. But that's impossible because notes when i saw you open lewis not the kinda guy who let the truth stand in the way of a good story so he kept going as louisville at his home in flushing was right across the street from the flushing airport and it was as a result of this proximity that he began his love of blimps. Who you heard that right now blimps. Yeah yeah the giant balloon. Kite gondola things. Then for some reason exists i. Lou loved blimps obsessed with them so much so that he used his position as the editor of the school newspaper to arrange for a ride. Just smoking three cigarettes at the same time with a rolodex. Jimmy you'd better give me that blimp bride. Who never get any ink in this town. Never i'm not a child jimmy. I'm telling you. I'm rolling in lincoln's inn blimp and just a story he didn't it didn't it was actually as best friend. Alan gross who is obsessed with blimps and who was also the editor of the school newspaper. And who arranged for a ride in a blimp perlman. Well wasn't and didn't but since it's a good story he just took it and later leverage this very weird blimp related mythology because well lou pearlman was honest or true or authentic. You cannot fault him for missing a lot of opportunity. Okay okay in lose defense. Everyone's wife is the most beautiful woman in the world. But when we borrow a perfectly good blimp story all of a sudden. Everyone's true story. I raised an entire paragraph of ally. Does this all the time. No yeah i mean stories about a jewish kid who steals other people's stories. The reason we don't let he like touch the money far from all the money while he was a student lu had to write a business plan for classic queens college and he wrote his plan based on the idea for a taxi company that used helicopters rather than cars. If you've ever spent this is around new york city and a cab you would be sympathetic to the notion of simply flying straight into the sky rather than one more minute in a yellow stench carrot. He spent a fucking infinite amount of time in there because they literally don't know where they're going every single cab i've gotten into the caveats. You wear it games. You.

Oklahoma City Thunder Embarrass Boston Celtics

"Special guest tonight, tonight is Jeff Goodman. And before we get to his latest zesti, take on Joe Brown which we will a little bit later in the show. We just want to welcome him to the Garden report. Post game show and Jeff will give you first bite at the Apple. It's I don't know how many times we're going to say worst loss ever because it feels like we've said it a lot. It's hard to not bother. It's hard to not tell this the worst loss ever. This is so this Jeff they work. They were atrocious and embarrassment but I don't listen, I don't care that Jayson. Tatum and Kemba Walker didn't play. I do care because I think Jason should have been out there. I don't know how bad the injury is, or whatever, is dealing with public. And it came like this, you gotta be out there. This is what 11/12 games left in the regular season. You needed this win, you could ill afford a loss like this, but even without Tatum and Kemba last name. They were without shade gilgeous-alexander, and they stink, they absolutely stink. They're trying to tank they've got a garbage team other than Lou door and you lost. You had supposedly Dead one of the top 25 players in the NBA in jail and Brad. I thought, Oh, supposedly. And it starts now, you mean using all subjects, you mean you're not lose. That's the supposedly Factor know. It's, it's true. Jeff look. I think they rolled the dice on Tatum thinking we could get away with tonight and still squash out the window. And so we needed to give him a day off. Let's pick the game and they pick this one on the back to back on the front, end of a back-to-back, and it burned him obviously. And I don't think he's, I don't think he's hurt but I mean, I get it doesn't matter. Like I watched this whole game, I've not watched to Oklahoma City games this year, I still can't name a player on their team

"lou it" Discussed on The Eric Metaxas Show

"Hey everybody is the eric metaxas show with my psychic slash producer. Alvin sadar away. You were the psychic. No i could be. I could play the role of site. Listen very versatile. People don't believe me. I was talking to sorbo. He's doing these movies. I said kevin give me apart. I don't care what it is. I will show you. You want to know what acting as i will show you. Hey sorbo hey. I'm talking to you. Could be kevin's body double. I could do it. I'm so ripped. It's not even funny. Don't talk about those. Here's where we need to talk about a couple of things. There are still people not signed up for our newsletter. Yep and i was talking to some friends yesterday. Where do we find these videos. And i got really you know. Smoke started coming out of my ears and i said hey you get my email. Don't you if you open up the email every email. We sent it out like about twice a week. Sometimes more has all the previous video. So you're saying. When did eric have lou dobbs on. Where do i find that. When did eric have mike lindell on air. Cav milo yannopoulos on. When did you have to subscribe to eric. Metaxas dot com. That's the first announcement. The second announcement we keep talking about people going to mypillow dot com and my store dot com. My books are mostly available. My store dot com. Use the code. Eric we'll guess what we have. A new sponsor called neutra medics. Yeah and you t. r. a. New trump medics med nutrition dot com neutral. Medics dot com. You also have to use the code eric with them. But if you use melatonin reservatrol stevia which is a sweetener vitamin c zinc vitamin d. Like this is all the stuff. Magnesium that i that i take any way right alphabet dirty. Human they've got it all folks and i just wanna say if you use any of that stuff my attitude. The reason i'm so excited about neutral. Medics and i'm excited to work with them. They they give fifty percent of all of their profits to missions. Did you hear that. Fifty percent emissions into similar charities and i'm going to find out what charities and they have a goal to give away a hundred million by the end of this decade and to put a man on the moon by the end of the nineteen sixties. That's their goal. They've already accomplished the first. And the second one. Yes an by by the way. If you missed that you can look it up on microfiche at the library. But they did put a man on the moon in the sixty s good neutral. Medics is going to give away one hundred million by the end of this decade. It's twenty thirty. And i thought twenty thirty. That's twenty fifty right and then i realized. Oh it's a few years away. So but you have to use the code eric but honestly most of their stuff. Just look them up online. You can read their story. We're going to have the founder on this program. But it's hard enough for me to be excited because i think i buy all this stuff anyway from somebody i might as well buy it from neutral. Medics dot com and fifty percent of the prophets. Goes to things that i believe in yup right there you go. You can't lose you cannot lose. Is there anything else that we need to talk. When i'd like to say the weekend is coming up it's you exciting. And did you mention that people have. I did sign up for your newsletter. did i ever mention that. I don't think i've ever mentioned that. Airman taxes dot com. Use the code. Eric double double free. When you confuse people like that. That's bad eric. Metaxas dot com actually will mention one thing before we go if you go to our radio website which is metaxas. Talk dot com. There is a banner to support voter integrity in georgia. Everybody all of the war corporations coca-cola which i'll never drink again Delta airlines all of these folks are lining up saying that voter integrity is racist. Actually they are racist. I don't have time to break it down. But if you don't mind please. To metaxas talk dot com. Click on the banner and signed the petition for voter integrity. In georgia voter integrity is for all americans. Folks make no mistake. That's the point of it. All right thank you for listening. Don't forget we're here for you..

"National news breaking interview from a car and he was in the driver's seat. He's not being chauffeured but he had to go. He had to take his wife their next appointment. And i thought who. Can i get just a few minutes just to just to have some fun And i thought about that. Comedian andy millen arcus. Ladies and gentlemen here he is any welcome to the program. Thank you. I'm not as inventive as lou. Dobbs i know that when you give invitations to appear on your show people come up with extraordinary excuses jokingly orchestra because oh metaxas invited me people come out with more and more outlandish as to why they call it a ten baroque excuses wrote in cocoa raquel cocoa. Finish your job rokocoko. But i have to say. I'll give some credits lou dobbs for for doing it on the day at the time. I'm so sorry. I'm in a car. My wife has a dental appointment is somebody who cannot afford to send his wife a newborn or something. We'll see actually no. No no. this is true. This is what this is how you know how amazing lou dobbs's listen. He says he tells me this about his wife right and i asked him all the things that you're implying i said lou. I would think that. When i get to your level in the business surely i would have staff to take care of this and take for my wife know. They've been married for forty years. He drove his wife to the dental appointment. And as proof who shows up midway through our second segment his wife the filling was filled. She gets into the car and then she proceeds to hold the camera which is his phone for the rest of the interview. That's a beautiful marriage and those are beautiful people and what extraordinary links to go to to avoid sharing oxygen with you. I'm so sorry that you feel this way you're experiencing me later obviously lou. Well people first of all people don't want us to talk about luke. People are thrilled. That you're here and i want to announce that we're going to be doing the full interview next week either monday or tuesday. So this is just a teaser overturn. In exactly the same clo. Not exactly the same hash. Sure xactly same everything. I'll put my coffee in just the same place continuity thank you the next week will look yes. Almost like that was policy mcwhorter. Let me ask you a question because we are going to do an official interview next week. But i want to ask you now. Since we're here you seem not to have been doing much a media. Am i mistaken or do. I just look in the wrong places in between billionaires at the moment so i've been sort of semi retired through necessitate because moving me around is very expensive and complicated and dangerous so the number of live speeches and things can do is fairly limited. No no no. No what i mean is media you here. You can reach all kinds of people in in all around the world. But you haven't been doing media or don't you do me. What am i supposed to do. Skype zoom yeah. No i do in person interviews with people. I cherish ended my. I've made an exception happen here at home. I do occasional serious in depth interviews with people who are actually having conversation with otherwise. I've got better things to do. I've got books to write. I've got people to see in my own life. I've just more important stuff to do. So i tried to do these days. I tried to do less but better. I love it again today. Notwithstanding now you we're going to cover this in our actual interview. This is just a pre interview but you made a gigantic announcement. Recently a life style announcement a life change announcement and i think for many people. Because you're such a provocateur. An joker they many people don't believe that you're on the level while i may be in the outfit of an. Ats power ballots singer. But i have the heart and stomach of a heterosexual. And i have been for some time a very unhappy and unsatisfied with some of the things that i was doing in my private life. Some of the things that were quite large parts of my public persona even that i had lent into irritate the left. And all the rest of it so i took a decision recently to set some of them aside most specifically physical interactions with other men. Because it was something that identified as being productive childhood trauma something that was holding me back spiritually and emotionally and something that was not not leaving me very happy at the end of it. There are people even as you've put it as seriously as you just have their people that refuse to believe you. They think it's an act. They think you're roger stone or andy kaufman or whoever. But you're quite serious about this and since it was just a couple of minutes left. It's your christian. Faith that led you to this. Yes as i've been in a sort of semi enforced retirement from being canceled. Eleven twelve i. Loose count maybe fifteen times over the past decade. I've had a lot more time to think and been drawing much closer to my catholic faith and the main thing that has led me to this decision and it's been returning to mass going back to church spending more time with with priests and i wrote a book in in two thousand eighteen that we've discussed on your show before about pope francis and that really kind of set off a chain reaction me. When i was reading kind of people i was hanging out with and yeah i mean if some if there are people out there who are skeptical. I should hope so good. I mean i would be skeptical but the same people who are expressing skepticism of the people. Who never believed i was in the first place is exactly correct. The new the new big thing on the internet when i made the announcement a few weeks ago was milo truth arisen and my truth resume was we knew this oil. All he was never homosexual he was always a right wing straight white males parody of what a gay man would be. We doing this right. So there were all. These verified liberals according to his year loved it. I love hoarding to that. Theory liberace was also straight. Thank you very much and lead singer of queen. Perhaps which full. Yeah exactly just a straight white males idea what geic because a real gay man would never struck and preen peacock and swan and any other birds. have in your mind. Well so we're this is really. As i say detainees are longer interview in which. We'll talk to you about everything everyone has been asking about your life and your the faith that you claim to have. I think oscar wilde will come up in the conversation and and other things. So that's it for today. I don't wanna. I just wanted to tease. Actual interview is gonna get crazy up in here folks. That's it for today but stay tuned monday of next week we will be having the.

"Folks talking to lou dobbs and he's in a car i just also want to say to my audience. This is unintentional. Usually you think this is some kind of a screwy segment. I'm trying to do some kind of car. Karaoke thing with people who've been canceled no Maybe we will do that but and i we haven't we've never. We've never tried to sing a duet together. So i don't think we should start now unless you've got something prepared after. That would be a very bad idea. We could use some mills brothers. Perhaps but let me just say that you really are in a car. We were scheduled to do this program and you are such a wonderful person. Most people would say can't do it. I gotta take my wife to the dentist. So i think the question that most of my audiences asking is specifically what dental procedure did your sweet wife have today babe. I'm gonna let you describe it but it's the place a just a just a filling just filling so you were willing to destroy my show for a filling. Mrs dobbs unbelie album here. Do you believe this. Do you believe that lou is married to this kind of a monster. I can't believe forty years of this. He's been putting up with all right all right lou. We're sisu crazy i. You're probably parked in a car like five minutes from here. Because we're in midtown manhattan also but let me. Let me ask one serious question. And then we'll let you get on with your your life. You sweet wonderful man. A are you familiar. Do you know. Mike lindell was just on this program. He is launching. Something called. Frank dot com. Which is a rock ribbed safe place to have any kind of conversation. He sort of built it so that nobody can can can tear it down and when we go off the air. I'll give his phone number because he actually wanted. He wanted to be in touch with you about that. But right now a as a nation as you said. We're facing some bizarre. Some bizarre things most of us really believed that apart from a miracle of god which i know happens because god's in the business of miracles but that that we really are at a at a place so unprecedented that most people really they don't know where we go from here. Well if people are not i it's you know you hear a lot of people end of days and whether we are a preparing for the raptures youth and they can be easily for you forgiven because of all that is happening in our life of this country alone dealt look to the world but to this country alone we are. We're watching american. The american heritage turned upside down. We're watching illegal. Immigrants given money by government that denies it to those who are hard working americans with families to support and given precedence over citizens. We are looking at a president. Who wouldn't answer a question. As i said about packing the supreme court but today i he's creating a commission and Doing full everything in his power to move toward another four justices that will dilute the court. And it's is just one thing after another i e and and one rational thing that he's done which is to bring denounce he's bringing home our troops from afghanistan. That is that is what president trump wanted to do years ago and was was stymied at every turn by the military industrial complex. We're not going to mention the neocons lindsey graham because that would be an appropriate. That would be so. Yeah but have you. Have you been in touch at all. And you don't have to say if you. But i'm wondering if you've been attention with the president at all in mar-a-lago so to speak a number of times here. I guess most recently a week a week or so ago and he by the way sounds great He is Sounds rusted and his obviously Taking on issues every day. It's exciting. I know that he'll be back and then it will be. It'll be disturbing for some people but it'd be good for america and good for the country we've got a minute left before we let you go You said that you're doing something. You're launching a website. Can you tell us a little bit more about that. What will that be i. It's it's going to be it's going to be a broader social media presence And we can't can't give away anything at this point but in the next The expert while we'll we'll be rolling out in the next shortwhile albany here this. That's a specific. He's going to be. He can't even say months because that would be giving away too much. People will know instantly. Well lou speaking for millions and for my dad nick metaxas specifically. We've really missed you. And if we have to get you you know ferrying your beautiful wife to a dentist appointment. We're thrilled. Thanks for rolling with the punches. And i do want to say that we look forward to the launch of whatever it is because we need your voice. I wish we didn't need your voice but we need your voice. We love your voice and we need your voice. We're grateful to you and your wife and to your wife's dentist. I want to be very clear. So thank you to both of you. God bless you and to be continued in a non kar format at some point in the near future. I promise for my side. And i just wanna say. Thank you for being so adapt that flexible and i agree to a great sport. We well it helps it helps. I'm your biggest fan. Thank you so much to both of you. God bless you.

"To most republicans. Well and i think you know getting back to the election. so many millions of people voted for him My friend mike lindell says the actual number is eighty million or seventy nine point eight And that ryden probably got sixty eight. Maybe and that's counting all the dead people obviously But the fact of the matter. Is i think that the idea that any republican who is either not trump or more pro-trump than trump. Which which can happen but that really people are still looking to trump for leadership and many people myself included. Have no confidence that this election was on the up and up on another. Was i've seen enough evidence to say that th there's no way and the fact that nobody's trying to defend it They just saying by the way shut up. We don't want we don't even discuss this. That's gonna lead to insurrection. That tells me everything i want to know. They they want to say what that saul baseless. i it's dismissed it's you know it's already been litigated. All of which is untrue. In the in it's really powerful this What's descended on this country. Eric and that is the idea that you can't even ask a question without being relegated by the left to either of being an an insurgent denier whatever racist whatever the you know the the label is they wanna hurl. At the epithet. Ensler this is. This is a heck of a time in our country when you can't even ask a question. You can't even raise the possibility. Maybe maybe it isn't a good thing to have an election that takes place in say six months rather than in one day constitution requires that maybe it's not a good idea to have a justice department that does not investigate clear demonstrations with probable cause and evidence of cheating and to have a dismissive federal government. It's remarkable what what is really transpired in this country. Now be honest. Can i have you for five more minutes or the cops can tell you. You've got to move the car. Larry talked to the first the first authority. All right okay. We'll be we'll be right back. I do want to ask you a couple more quick questions folks. Yeah i'm.

"Folks. Welcome to segment two of our one if you scoring at home. I'm talking to mr lou dobbs. No no no not not a lou dobbs under study lou dobbs himself lou. People are watching this on video that you're in a car you're not being chauffeured. Your the driver and i think all of america is saying. Hey what happen when you are. You're running an errand in midtown manhattan with your wife. I just want to be very clear that this is not your studio. You haven't come down in the world. You've just chosen to do my program from your vehicle. Well i i chose in a way but my wife It was rather insistent that i get her dental appointment on time. Here's it's ended. Legally we can only the top of your head right now. Just wanna be clear your wife entering the car she is now. May i introduce you eric. I would be delighted. This is is this. The mrs lou dobbs holy cow. Nice to me. This is unbelievable. I apologize for putting you through this. You know you think getting through. A dental appointment is about the extent of the unpleasantness of the. But then to get in your own vehicle and to find yourself on a huge program like this. Oh my gosh. It's it's incredible. It's great this is this is so funny. We get a twofer lou. This is not in the contract. You going to let this go. We're all i'm thinking about in just a quick review make sure that all the values are observed. Well now we'll we'll your will your sweet light wife. Let us keep talking for a few minutes or or what. What do you think i just wanted to ask. You want to keep the conversation going. But you've got a domestic situation. Not at all i give you permission. Jeez i want my next wife to be just like mrs lou dobbs all right. I'm happily married. So i can joke like that la- let me ask you a question and we want the camera to be showing your whole face like you that much. Yes there you go all right. Let me just ask you. You're talking about the national media before. Sometimes i try to figure out what are what is the real problem. I mean we can all talk about bite all day long and stuff and well. That's obvious we know what's preposterous. What's unconstitutional what's un-american. But the real issue for me is that if we did not have a media complicit with the democratic party which let's face it in our lifetimes we've never seen anything like this. There was something called journalism. News integrity that went out the window in the trump administration. We've never seen anything like it. What do you see as the way around that. Because i do have hope but it's tough i all. I hope everything changes but soda. Millions of other of our fellow citizens. And this is. This is a time where we've got understand. Hope is far from sufficient and that is now our responsibility to make sure that we are taking active initiative to make certain that this country is preserved. Great constitutional republic. I i'm. I'm not one of those people who's content to simply say america. Wake up i. We've been there's been too much of that. I think over the course of the last several years And not enough shaking shoulders to say come on. Let's go do something and make certain that our voices are not only heard but there were taking actions to preserve this country and its values and its heritage and its government Without any question. I mean i'm tired of about you. But i'm tired of republicans being the party of you know let's sit and watch what antiga in black lives matter and radical dims. Do in the streets of america. I'd much rather see there. Be a response. Enter an affirmative response on the part republicans and say no. We're going to restore this country. We're going to build it. And we have the following paths to follow and we are going to encourage All citizens to follow our lead. But that isn't who the republican party is doing right now. Let me ask you to just to make life easier. Let me ask you true or false question sure mitch. Mcconnell is a skunk to were false. But he's so much more than that. It's not fair to seekonk turtles to liken him to them so we won't do on this program. He he is a man and deep deep need of well perspective encourage and is that is not just for open perspective encourage if he can only get those two things perspective encourage. How tough could it be. Yeah that's not big. That's not a big deal mitch. Mcconnell is a fellow. That i haven't had much. I let me put it this way. We can't we can't see your eyes. I just want you to make sure we get your whole head in the production value standards that we try to. Okay go ahead. I introduce you to my wife earlier. Could i shoot. I- cameramen your cameraman. Yeah do you have a cameron on the on the situation. I thought so. You guys are such good sports so we have this ability for forty years. Wow this is beautiful. This is just the kind of synergy that you guys have going on the complementarity that i see happening. That's a dirty word. In some evangelical circles. I take it back. Okay we just want to see your is there. We go this is this is comedy unintentional folks lou. Let me ask you. Because i know it's you're being such a good sport but honestly when i see somebody like john bainer today getting in a spitting match with a with other with ted cruz. These folks what trump did to my mind is exposed them for the rhino swamp creatures. That they are they. Don't they're not conservatives. They hardly understand the fundamentals of the american system. Kind of like the kind of politician career politician hacks that we're not supposed to have in our country. I don't know what else to say. I'm sure i've heard you talk about this. But who do you. Who do you see besides trump who. I believe. we'll be back sooner than some like. Who do you see as voices to help us during this time. I think there's only one voice right now nationally. Who is capable of as you but it helping and changing the direction that the a biden administration is trying to bring for the for the country and that is donald trump he is. I cannot think of another person not a academic social critic not a politician in a state. Legislature governor in any state house has anything approaching is understanding of this country. Are people in our in our our god given values he is the only voice right now will be the only voice in two years one year four. I don't know but right now. He is the leader who was acceptable.

"How big these these changes. Are i think in partly the reason for that If you will suspended cognitive Realization on the part of the american people is because the national media it's left wing but nonetheless it is. The national media is not in any way bringing critical judgment or great energy to their responsibilities to to be either a watchdog or two to challenge power in fact they're simply accepting and indeed lining up with this administration in the most complicit and passive manner possible. It is it is a frightful thing for this republic. This constitutional republican for every american citizen to look at what is happening at our borders in which we are watching sovereignty bees simply If not altogether abolished diminished in favor of unlimited immigration into the united states. "To danbury and visit my dad who's going to be ninety four soon he says eh. Can you find out what's happening with lou dobbs. I said that. I you know. I'm not sure. What's going on with with lou dobbs but my father loves lou dobbs so much that every time i go home he asks me. Can you find out what happened with lou. Dobbs wants he doing what's it. What are his plans and my father keeps hammering this. I'm ready to explode. I said i gotta get a hold of lou. Dobbs ladies and gentlemen mr lou dobbs lou. Welcome the program. Erica's great to be with you. And your father my best to him as well as you listen. My dad loves you so much and so do zillions of others. Actually i confess. I'm one of the zillions and so we have missed you like crazy. 'cause we do love you and so when my father asked that question part of the reason that annoys me is because i myself want to know where can i hear from lou dobbs so lou. Let me ask you the first question just to get this settled. Do you have anything planned beyond this show. I know this is pretty big to be on my show but you have anything beyond this plan in the short term. Besides what in the car for your wife to be done with their dental appointment. Well now. that's my number. One mission is to be sure i'm a solid and reliable waiter on her here in midtown manhattan at thank you for readingmeet here on the streets You know it's. I've got a lot plan. We're getting ready to do some social media and i can't get into any of it For lots of reasons because we would want to spoil the surprise for anyone but We're getting ready for a social media. Rollout new New website is being constructed. Some kind of a program where you actually get to opine on the news of the day pine i will akon client is issued really. That's honestly this is great news. Do you have a a month a week when this might be happening. No date yet. But but we're excited about The rolla plans are in the works now. If only i could get my dad to figure out how to use social media. I don't see that happening so i'll have to. I'll have to see it up. We'll we'll put it on my youtube channel. There you go there you go hi. We're going easy for everybody. Now listen no joke. So many people love you. And i was just tickled to death that you were willing to come on here and i want to explain to people watching the video of this. This is this was not planned. You are in a car. It's raining outside and and you are what you're taking your wife to a dental appointment you see. I'd like to think that. When i get to to your level in the business i will have staff. Take care of that kind of stuff. I'm not going to get in the car and drive. We have people. We have people that do that. I currently have people but you also don't have people you're such a good husband that you're doing this is this is really people. Don't see the human side of lou dobbs like this. This is beautiful lou. Well and i also take out the trash and do a few other things just like a real person. It's unbelievable boss. Okay so you but you had been silent because you know you. You left the fox business channel. Anything you can say about that. I you know you sign something and you're not able to mention the word fox or even pronounce the f. Just the f. sound i don't know it's obviously we're in a quiet period And i have to observe that but at the same time you know the truth is there is no Animus on my part toward fox whatsoever. You know there's an old saying in our business it's ownerships Candy store And You they make the rules so there it is i. That's very diplomatic of you. I have to say a lot of people because they love you so much. They were very angry. I can say this very angry at fox. And i'm one of them actually. I'm two of them. That's how angry. I am and let me say that the reason people love you is because you speak your mind and you speak you give voice to what a lot of people are thinking. But they don't they don't know quite how to say it or quite what to think. And so that's one of the reasons you're missing since i do. Have you on the program. I just wanna talk to you about the news of the day. Where do you think we are in this country. Where do you think we are and where do you think we may be going. Well let me start with where i think. We are Because that's frankly the more obvious We are now with a president who refused to answer the questions straightforwardly as a candidate who is now a made it very clear. He's going to make every effort With a high degree a high probability of success to pack the supreme court of the united states This is something he avoided throughout the campaign. It was not his finest or most candid. Moment is campaign among. I would say a number of such moments so i think this is just the latest The latest development i in altering is america our government And the relationship with the governor that seems to be the overwriting cause of this administration. It is a very difficult moment. And it's being expressed in so many different ways whether it'd be a policy statement that is clearly directed toward reversing decades of cut out there lou. I think we just lost heads. Please say what you just said again. Because he just cut out in the last four seconds there i apologize. It's clear that there there's an effort to To to change the relationship between the government and the government to make the large the government larger and more ubiquitous if such a thing as imaginable in our lives and to diminish the role of the individual and the And the power of each of us as citizens well you know by by detailing it in the way you did by being specific about it you you make. It sound almost like well. These things can happen but the problem. Is that if you do the things that you just mentioned you. Fundamentally a race america the founders vision of america the vision that we have lived out by god's grace for almost two and a half centuries is erased once you have government doing the things that the biden administration that's in quotes is doing when you talk about chaining the supreme court. That'd be like somebody saying you know what i think we're gonna. Here's what we're going to do. We're going to annex mexico. They're part of america. we're going. This is so fundamental and so gigantic. That it does really change everything. I i i. I don't think many people have the context even the process..

"But i've also started looking at. What is the experience. In addition to what is the outcome because the life experience that i garner is becoming as important to me. who am i working with. You know It's you know when when the life you know needed to replace an actor and they brought in this day. Would you do this like yeah in a heartbeat to episodes great working with billy bob dunne. I don't even need to read the script. You know because he had been buddies for a long long time you know. I ended up in adverse of film. It's out right now simply. Because i was doing a lot of the convinced thomas nichols and has a lot at a table next to each other and eluded said hey man i'm doing. This limit is agreeable up and coming. Asian american director. Brian metcalf there will be great free. Would you take a look at it. You know it would only take a day. And sean asked him was already attached seasonal buddy in a site you know. I want to support independent film. It's not always about the paycheck. It's not always about the size of the project. Simba migrate us. Love stories have been with independent films. You know that. I still like you know today and people continue to discover because of streaming and everything else and so. It was easy for me to say yesterday. And then all of a sudden miller and mickey worker the cast who well okay you know very good nothing but it's also You know hearing that or hearing about how you got the directing job on agents of shield you there is a certain amount of like auditioning for things but there's also just like staying in the game for a long time getting to know people you know showing up for work on time doing a good job and then word of mouth you know like nothing really beats word of mouth you know when i think about jobs that i addition for and got through that regular track versus jobs that were like more word of mouth or just through some other. It is far more the ladder you know the longer i feel like you're in the business that just going in reading for something getting a callback that does happen But this other way you know you're next to a guy that convention you share i'll take. Oh no. i'm in this movie. Oh wow well that worked out exactly right.

"Seven and eleven. He has seventeen in the first quarter and then miss a single site. This is a guy that has been averaging close to twenty points a game of fifty percent shooting all year long. But having got the praise that he deserved and if I'm the Phoenix Suns. I'm feeling some type of weight 'cause they traded this man for a second round, pick a cast considerations to the Phoenix Suns. James Zones you my brother I. Love You, but shame on you. Same. Oh you. TJ Warren's the best story clearly the right about that. There's no argument but I think a story worth watching that can have a real influence on the playoffs is kristaps Porzingis people forget when he got hurt he was still getting better was already a real good all-star level player still getting better seven three and hit the outside shot defend the rim score in the post do whatever you really wanted. To, do and the injury had, it's usually a year to get back and then a year to get back to where you work but it's not like where he was plateau sending rapidly I think he's back to that. Now based on the way he's been playing in the bubble, and if he is, he's a high level all star who still getting better paired with an MVP caliber player and Luca. I thought the Mavericks we're going to be a whole lot in the near future I didn't know it would be already but already look out for the mavs. No question that'll do for us here I take perk. Thank you so much for hanging with us. I can't believe you got Max do it. It's absolutely unbelievable Max holding it down and. Lakers thunder tonight Celtics Nags we'll be back tomorrow everyone that's on ESPN TAKE CARE BE SAFE.

"Of we. They moved the ball away from Leonard Right like that's not in the last game, but the Lebron be back to back. And then the clippers and the Lakers were firing on all cylinders that was partly because you try to take Kawai out of the game. Defensively, you keep the ball away from Kawai and Lebron figured that out and it worked it wasn't like Lebron, took on the challenge of. One on one as he did most recently with that defensive play at the end of the game, it's like Lebron more took why out of the game, move the action away from. And that seem to work but what I'm saying is even You take any sport it's to be the bill Belgium we'll take your number one in two options away. You can scheme defensively as a coach thing let's make sure that that why Leonard and Paul George, if you could somehow deny them the ball, let's make sure that they're not the ones to beat us and in on any other contending team if the third option is taking the last shot in the game, you're thinking great it worked not on the clippers on the clippers. That's a bad deal for the Defense Lou Williams just taking the last shot good luck with that. What says you WanNa talk about taking last? Fully, got trust in a guy like Danny Green who's proven on the big stage to be click take the last site and set finals records for three point shooting. I got trust in a guy like, Dr. waiters who don't steal don't get enough respect I got trust and guys like that. I trust in Jr Smith who have to. A. Championship team who had the greatest comeback in NBA history. I got trust in those guys why? Because they're battle-tested and then by the way you talk about different shelter you about this before we go before we go I didn't get a chance to address WHOA news but. Lebron, just lock up Lebron, just like a wild landed in the fourth quarter every time he guarded KUWA- that game one he locked them up, and by the way I told you this the clippers do not have the answer for Anthony Davis pierpoint I agree with you d run the offense through a d. when those two matchup that's why it's going to be a great match up but real quick Danny Green and at this point Jr Smith those are spot up shooters. The difference is with when you have Lou Williams. He can go get his own shot and he could do it at an elite level show me someone else on a contending team who can do that the number thirty three option. Did I think about opting out when this thing came I did not I have a lot to prove to myself. I have a lot to prove to tomorrow's am I'm be complete I'm tired of being disrespected so. There was no question I was going to play this year. Civil Champion Jeff Saturday here what US good to see you jeff car just wants a little respect on his name right Max that's what it is. But tell me this Max out there in. Vegas. Now, do you honestly think cars quarterback of the future there? I don't think so and if he is he's going to have to keep proving it and I mentioned this earlier in the show name brands even though football is the most meritocratic of all the sports because. Guys don't have guaranteed contracts and you have to evaluate a game to game. Name brand matters at quarterback like when you have that veneer of like a franchise quarterback if you're tagged that way. So to speak in people's minds, you're perceived one way if you get treated or you leave your available once or twice. Already perceived differently or perceive Moore's journeyman that a franchise quarterback. So I mentioned the group of Dak and Jared Goff and you can still put Carson Wentz because he hasn't been consistently great in his career and say, what's the real difference between them and say Kirk cousins or Jimmy? Garoppolo. Right. They got upper middle class deals they didn't reset the market. And were even though Teddy Bridgewater throat as much of a look at his quarterback win loss record and he seems to win a whole lot right? Why are guys perceived differently, I think it's largely perception Derek. Carr one point was seen as among the best young quarterbacks in the game and he was playing like that. Once upon a time, you don't want Andrew Luck was the next big thing and. He hasn't been able to sustain that consistently that high level of play, but he's shown enough of it that he's usually better or has been so far better than the options to replace him. So Derek, Carr a starting quarterback in the NFL but that's something different than being a franchise quarterback a guy who like that's the quarterback we're going to leave Malone we're not going to ask. Any questions about it. He has correctly identified the way he's perceived in I. Think around the NFL, which is he's starter. Is He a franchise quarterback? That's that remains a question. So when he says he has something to prove I agree with them Kenny not. We've seen them hit high levels. Can he hit a high enough level to be considered a franchise guy and then sustain it? Yeah I agree with you to a degree I think he has he has dialed in on himself pretty well, right the way people perceive him around the League is. He he's not quite that franchise quarterback. I will say this though about Derek Carr, his performance is better than people give him credit for right. If you compared he and Jimmy Garoppolo last year who takes his team the Super Bowl and has an opportunity to win it really one throw away from them upsetting Kansas City and all the hype that we have around Patrick. Mahomes if you look at their core four thousand yards last year. Right I mean, think he those four or five touchdowns Garoppolo and and and four or five. You're intersections in Garoppolo. Now, this year will be telling for him right four, thousand yard season last year he needs to start stacking them one on the other big. You'll get rugs again another running back to help them out of a good offensive line to get another receiver down the third today have guys and they're building around him. To say that he has been disrespected I would say you just gotTA growth thick skin I. Mean all you gotTa do is compare it to Aaron Rodgers in Green. Bay. He is a first round hall Stephen a calm a bad man or whatever whatever title he calls him right He's got this this name forum. They just try to replace him right? I mean the right now there's no respect in the NFL right? It is earned each and every year that's just the nature. Of the business in it has begun to change recently because how impactful young quarterbacks have been in our game, and so I would say for Derek Carr just get thick skin man that's what you're going to have to have because no one will ever just keep handing it over like what you're saying a AMAC's when you say yet you you hear the keys to the car no one's ever GonNa. Question he has put himself in that Russia alive, but but the reality is this. The the difference between if you put him with the San Francisco Forty Niners, I believe, he would be the same guy is Garoppolo right i. think he's going to do the same thing. It's because the team round what happens for quarterbacks in the NFL is that people identified them a certain way and think, Oh, this guy's not very good because it's teams not very good as much as we want to give credit to quarterbacks in the league. Few and when I see very few like three or a year can really take their team and add maybe two wins to their to their record. Not a whole lot of guys are going to be out in that category that's just reality but people all the sudden say oh, he's not a good quarterback. He's not for the raiders. The raiders would be would have a hard time going to replace. Him for the system that they're in, it would not be an easy. It would not be an easy transition for them. Know something else would Tom Brady Tom Brady had been an upgrade for sure. But how many times? It's Tom Brady market right and that's because is going to change the culture of your team as well. Not just not just be a good.

They perform for ICM and William Morris Agency. It was this trip where Luke got his first video of the boys performing. He sent that out to just about everyone he could find in the music industry, including two longtime professionals Johnny and Donna Right. And their fate was sealed. Thanks to the intervention of to music industry professionals as former road manager for new kids on the block Johnny and Donna knew how to market young talent after seeing video of the backstreet boys. Human Choice doesn't require conscious cognition. Instead people tend to develop preferences for things that are familiar. The brain tends to believe that because it knows one or two things about someone that it approves of the person himself is worth trusting. Johnny hardly knew anything about Lou except that. The guy was rich and creating a boy band. As the former road manager of the new kids on the block Johnny was most certainly familiar with the wealth that can come from teen singing groups. Therefore, his brain didn't have to do the hard work of evaluating the experience Louis Pitching and using critical judgment. Though the video of their seaworld performance, blue johnny out of the water or really secured his future with the backstreet boys was lose lavish lifestyle. If Lou was willing to bet on the group with all his boastful success. Johnny figured the boys were a worthy investment. That summer Johnny and his wife Donna officially came on board to help. Greed would bring their glory crashing down. When we return lose boy band catches on to his gift now back to the story. During those early years of the nineteen ninety s loop holman Johnny. Run it like a family business. He added. We take care of them. But there was a problem with the impressionable backstreet boys looking up to music executives like Johnny right and Luke Feldman is father figures. The lines between work and home life became dangerously blurred as far as they were concerned. Lou had their best interest at heart. That facade however wouldn't last forever. While, the backstreet boys toured schools and talent shows around the US loose still had to manage his aircraft schemes while his blimp advertisement gigs still generates. It's small amounts of revenue. It wasn't enough to sustain the cost of upkeep. His original dream of owning blimps was quickly deflating. One of the BLIMPS, which had been chartered to promote a pink floyd tour, fell victim to a windstorm. Another one crashed in North Carolina. The third disaster landed the blimp right in a long island man's front yard while it was headed to the September. One thousand, nine, hundred four US Open tennis tournament. that. Same year s ship international noted a four million dollar loss. It stock had fallen from six dollars a share to thirteen cents. Lou wasn't sweating it though he assured investors that their money was being kept in a much larger company, which he called transcontinental air. The eighty million dollar company held almost all of lose eighty four ventures, transgression codes records con studios, and even Trans can. Food was subsidiaries. Without a hitch, Luke covered up the failure of his early scheme by the blinding glow of his apparent success. Investors inten felt secure. Even with ship international gone lose bigger use with thriving, and he allegedly had a fleet of forty nine aircrafts to prove it. This of course was also a farce. But as loose sat in his office, peering out the window at the kingdom, he had built for himself. Everything seemed to be going right. He regularly wrote detailed letters to shareholders about the way his aircraft leasing and boy band, bolstering business where performing. Lou also invited new investors to participate in Trans Con as employee, stock, ownership, plan, or are Isa. Promising an annual return of eight percent Lou raked in you. Victims who believe trance con was the robust empire. It actually wasn't. To prove his company's worth, he showed them forged income documents from a fake accounting firm. He'd named Cohen and Siegel. Stock buys were also told their accounts were insured by the federal deposit. Insurance Corporation as well as Lloyd's of London. This claim was also false. There was no insurance and what Lou was selling. Instead the fund acted as lose piggy-bank which he would turn to anytime. He needed to pay off. Bank loans established legitimacy with the new investor or by one of his many 'cause. He also siphoned money into his boy. Band dreams sinking.
