"Somebody listening in just we need a little harmony all the hard all right non from the canopy conservation across he's a picker bluegrass fan and then getting better Lou Gramm and environmental issues political issues and I worry fuses and great Pete Seeger I exactly knew he was the he's a standard for confining combining them activism and and music and well it was a guy named mine with Woody Guthrie who's pretty good at that as well as pretty good ten we think you know it's kind of from the same cloth all right so we're talking about the Banff Film Festival at the lands it on Monday and Tuesday the sixteenth and seventeenth March and there are a few very few tickets left for both and about fifty films and different films on each night those kind of films kind of cover one just like all skiing and jumping off cornices well they cover everything from speed climbing which is a new Olympic sport outdoors or indoors indoors okay to hijacking mountain bike racing's skiing surfing also like GoPro canister gonna go pro E. but but really with the kind of a human touch to it it's really about sort of the human ability to kind of you know X. extend ourselves to these an incredible links out in nature and many of them are completely adrenaline packed some of them are really funny there is diversity in these films that we've chosen their women doing some extraordinary things outside when film in particular that sort of sticks in my head is a Pete McBride film he's a National Geographic photographer and he did I was slightly longer twenty minute version film of a trek through the Grand Canyon and it's really intense it's you know it shows all the the the beauty and all the danger associated with that and I think fans are gonna really like that fans of the bout Banff mountain Film Festival but yes so this year we have just a bunch of films that are that are going to capture the human spirit in nature who ordered group I mean who are the the people to come to this mostly young people who are into adventure stuff or across range some people just want to support you obviously yeah but also just love the beauty yeah I'm in the background right it's pretty much all in age ranges people from a lot of tourists coming here in town on that day young kids who were really into you know snowboarding skiing skiing enthusiasts on bike about bikers in particular and there's gonna be some good ones this year and you know even my mom goes she loves that scenery or because she loves you well both yeah she likes the excitement of those films really yes so I think anybody who who just wants to have really memorable night of of you know film watching we should come last year for example we had a funny film called beaver believer and it was about this hairdresser that was really into relocating beavers wow is just unforgettable it issues a hilarious character where was this that was the Banff last year up in choosing in Canada I think she lives in Canada yeah yeah and so there is there the rest of the re locates beavers yeah so there's this sort of quirky there's really exciting there's all sorts of stuff that that happens at Banff how did you get into this work I got into this work I grew up here and I've done nonprofit work for a really long time and I I guess I came over from the farmers market so I realized how community is built around food and food comes from the lands the error of the water that we that we all enjoy and once I did my my stint at the farmers market I wanted to kind of stay in in a realm that protected and sort of build community around where we live and was fortunate enough to to move over to the Santa Fe conservation trust which not only does land conservation but we've also done trails and trails development we maintain all the trails for the city of Santa Fe do you have members we have we don't really have a membership program but anybody who makes a donation to us becomes part of our family for sure how many employees do you have I have six there's six of us all told three full time and three almost full time you're hiring we will be actually coming up because as we expand our land work to try to work with a wider diversity of landowners we're going to probably hire another conservation specialist to help us implement that plan we always needs you know volunteers we we have a program called fama knows that takes people out on walks around town that starts in may and goes through October we always need volunteers to help us do that we do thirty walks during that program we take kids up on field trips to the dirt trails from the south side schools so there's a lot going on at our place where we don't want to help our contact you through the website you can reach us at SFC T. dot org or if you want to get Banff tickets you can just go to the lens a cat nine eight eight one two three four but do it quick very few tickets left for both nights Monday night Tuesday night March sixteenth March seventeen great films adventure films kayaking I don't skiing snowboarding mountain biking all sorts of stuff all all sorts of good GoPro kind of them video exactly all right thanks Sir appreciate it thank you for having him and thanks for saving all this land keeping it undeveloped if you take time out we will come back.

Those are the most passionate fans there so you're getting fresh in your you get i shot at him so so we went on we played eight are set and and and we were walking off the stage and people were still clapping and cheering and and and we we looked over at at at bill graham who was who was you know watching from from the side from the the wings and he he looked at us and he says i answer your encore. Go play one more and we're kind of huddled up. We didn't have anything more to play only one record so at the time that that we performed the concert we were just finishing hotline it in the studio so so the music was done and and i had one verse of hot blooded so we we went up on stage and played hot blooded and i sang the same verse i three times and we rocked the house they went bananas for it and and two or three days later we released it as a first single. Oh wow they tried to play a little cool zeiss out there right now. I could definitely hear that <hes> they're. They're getting ready to go here and and get ready to perform. I know you've got the big performance performance tonight with the campers and i gotta tell you honestly it's a thrill to talk to you. I said before what you did. The music you made in the vocals that you recorded are timeless and it's so great to see you. I know you've been through a lot health wise. It's so great to see you healthy and well. I'm feeling very good. I've i've been blessed good now one last thing for me. I don't have an ounce of musical talent can't play anything can't sing anything never could. That's why i do this because i'm frustrated. Never could play so. I'm going to get a little lesson on the rock and roll fantasy camp any tip that i should. You know what i need to know before i go good. If there's anything you could share with iran. Are you singing. What are you doing trying to teach me not play something. I can't sing. I don't think if i were gonna play bass they. They're going to <unk> crack guitar bass and i think if all fails i'll just grab a tambourine. Go the advice. I think that's the address cowbell. Stay with the tambourine umbrian cover. You can't lose great advice from one of the all time greats lou graham. Thank you so much. Thank you very much. Well great to talk to lou. "Everyone in the band is known as being musicians in their history as a musician and the one guy that's not as johnny depp but interesting in talking to people since he's been doing the vampires. They told me that long before he was an actor. His whole trip was being a musician growing up in florida. People i know in florida said they would see him play in the clubs so i think a lot of people's perception would be here's this massive of popular actor but his his core really is about music and being a musician can't. Can you talk a little bit about that about him as as a player in how while you guys work together because i think a lot of people just look at that as an actor getting his kicks but he really is a music. I even score. There's no doubt i mean <hes> it's interesting to see the audience react when you know when it comes out of course he's he's you you know hugely recognizable. I mean he's one of the top you know top actors in the world as far as like fame and you know his accession fashion the movies he's done and so is is that that amount of that but when we get out there and we play you know he starts. I mean he's just playing. He hasn't reacted to the to that other stuff you know and that's his day job where you can sit and <hes> he's a musician from from the start. I live pretty close to one in l. a. and <hes> next door actually and and <hes> i've seen him work. You know any he recognizes. You've got an incredible gift for acting and he respects that the guy works his ass off when he's working at that but when he comes home he puts a guitar on and and that's that's the thing i mean. When i first saw chocolate the movie he was in there and you played the jangle reinhardt stuff and i saw it was really him play. They said you know if i have meet that guy. You know i'm going to ask him about some of that. Were picked that up and i got to meet him. <hes> seventy years years ago and we've been friends ever since we just talk about music never met an actor through him except for when one went to the you know the way boys are movie and watch them do a couple of nights there and <hes> and i met some of the guys who the movie but other than that i just meet musicians through yeah. That's amazing. <hes> this show is about music festivals. Although rock n roll fantasy camp is the traditional festival is a music event but i want to just get one thing from you on festivals because aerosmith over the decades of in continue to play festivals all over the world i was at one you didn't brazil about seventy years ago called monsters of rock..

"Okay we're backstage had vinyl and i am joined by well needless to say one of my favorite bands in the world anybody that knows me as arrowsmith and from aerosmith joe perez here good to see you good. I'm great and you. We're here at the fantasy. Camp is the feature artists. You've done these before have you done. I have done it a few times and you obviously enjoy it because you're back doc well. Let's be people tell me been here before. Meister light that are also wouldn't be back. Do you like it. Though what do you get out of. Do you like a meeting. These people that are obviously fans of yours but also have a desire to be able to play your music laurel. I look at it more you so other musicians. You know that are on the path trying to figure it out. You know just like i am and <hes> so it's a good chance to rub elbows kind of control instead of like somebody coming up on the street with a guitar and show me how to play this. It's like you know it's a good setting for that so once in a while it's a it's a good way. You know what i mean. There's a lot a different ways to keep your keep your chops going and learn something new and this is one for me. I know i've talked to some of the campers of the fantasy anisa camp and for them. It's inspirational the guy like you combine here. Give them a few words of encouragement. Maybe they're very young or maybe even they're older. They're still trying to get there in terms of music when you were starting out playing guitar with some people around you that were very encouraging gave you a a vote of confidence <hes> not really i lived in a really small town and there weren't very many guitar players. <hes> i played in the school band for like a minute. <hes> clarinet and i didn't want that for literally for months. I was you know probably replay the thing about eight times but it was really no <hes> nobody else in town you know and so he met somebody else also a pile of records on that. Had you know looked like they came from england or somebody with a guitar case. You know you it kind of had something to talk about. You know it's just very different than it. Is today your parents encouraging when you want to start. We're much not so much. <hes> usual have the backup plan. It's not gonna go anywhere conversation. I was never even thought of to do anything. I mean it was lever ah he didn't do it for a career and no one thought of it like that that you could actually make a living and i didn't think so either i mean all all i knew is that it was fun to do and the few people literally a handful of other friends you know the kids that were real garage band thing you know i mean and that was it and as far as it being anything you would do like next year in two years years or five years didn't think that far ahead you know it was just about sitting down and playing and it feels good so you'll do it again. It's that's ironic in and of itself solve because here we are twenty nineteen almost fifty years after smith so you've made a run out of it for sure and at the time we're doing this in vegas i mean i know we're getting ready for rock and roll fantasy camp but you are on the second run of a residency..

"All right let's move on to another story here i'm going to be covering the mcadams case by the way in the final hour of today's program let's go to sake cody by the way paul did establish that gathering on the green is saturday night dennis the young and lou gram everybody who's a baby boomer and generation x nossa they right everybody or not you pulses everybody so i don't have to explain while we have people that aren't generation xers or baby boomers dennis the youngest sticks and lou gram border and now they're bands are apparently dead or they left they don't want to share the money with them so they have a tour with their own name so that's a one saturday night yeah lou graham is the the composed performed the the show for my theme song for my music the lost boys is a lou gramm song let me move to another story and ozaukee cody this has been going on for some time and there was an interesting development that occurred late last week this has been brewing for several years joe boylan was elected in ozaukee county circuit judge defeating longtime incumbent name wolfgramm the big issue in the campaign was wolfgramm signed the petition to recall scott walker from office this obviously angered a lot of residents of ozaukee county which is a county in which the majority of the voters are republican it really hacked off conservative activists in ozaukee county who felt that it was not a late unprofessional for a judge to be involved in politics and in fact most judges avoid political activity for this reason it exposed wolfgramm as the lefty that many people felt that he was on this program i backed violent as you know and i think that the voters did the right thing and i think that getting rid of wolfgramm is one of the better things that's happened in his ocoee coty politics for some time you have conservative counties way too many waukesha county has a major problem here where at least half the judges i left he's in a very conservative county it wolf grams case he has no one to blame but himself he outed himself by citing the walker recall petition who anyway the public say we elect judges boil it has every right to ride in the same fashion the joe blow has every right to run for judge dorf county any what beat wolfgramm this is not a he said she said story it's a he said they said story really ever since then there has been a bad relationship in the ozaukee county courthouse which is in port washington i know quite a few people who are well connected in ozaukee county and many of them tell me that voile and has been had at target on his back from the moment that he went in there that the courthouse crowded nozaki county as much as i'd say more so than it's going to say something and i'm correcting myself as i'm thinking i'm not gonna say it's the most but it is one of the most old boys network political communities that we have in our area i actually can't say it's worse than what that waukesha county i can't say that but there's an old boys network there one guy is the sheriff besides the past the donuts off to the next guy the next guy's the sheriff they by the way the last year if that i call the donut boy of he's still act off about that it's probably unfair it is unfair but i'll say it anyway but that's the way it works okay i'm the sheriff you're my lieutenant you get to be the sheriff and now he's gonna be the sheriff and the is nobody runs against any of the judges and you know the da's in there at okay the red i could have the da you become the da now adam girl at saratoga when he's got okay i'm going to be a judge you adam girl's gonna wanna be a judge's you get to be the that's the way it works sadie williams as a and now she wants to be a that's just the way it's been there forever and ever and ever it's like a fraternity choosing its leaders except it's not a fraternity these are elected offices that people could ride in boy brad and as i said i've been hearing from a number of people that he has not been given a fair shake from the moment that he's been up there that they've been laying for him the.
