All this movie was was people standing around talking. Like hilarious. smash cuts them hacking via computer terminal hacking. Your dialogue was complete shit. It was hilarious at times. I was cracking up at the beginning of the movie analytic. Oh this is going to be a very very fun ride and it was a very fun because of movies so terrible. It's an execution. I wish the dialogue made more sense was more strongly delivered from the actors and actresses though this movie i thought didn't think it was terrible that it was goofy to be terrible but it was not terrible enough to be fun. Yeah it was. It was incredibly pointless to me like it was a. It was like a series of sketches. There was the over. Arching theme of bad guys are gonna cause an earthquake but other than that. I thought it was really pointless like what was up with like why was why was that guy. Talking with that accent. It was dude. It was so over the top that bad he had to be putting that accent on and if he isn't. I apologize to that person. Because it was so exaggerated the the nerd girl going to quote lake is just catchphrase after like catch phrase like like a boy. A pointless is the way to describe like it's ninety nine percent of this movie. Yeah i feel like the hacker girl. She was very bland amongst a bunch of like vanilla people. Everybody has like a little bit of like flavoring to her. But she's just like just just planned and the comic relief comic relief. She's supposed to be really and you could tell because the way the dresser you know with the colored hair and everything the way that she addressed it this was a i thought a throughout the whole view film. I was like this movie. I think the only time. I would watch it if it was in spanish -tuni- afternoon from a mexican channel that i know i'm going to flip over to something else. It was the character. I think name was rocky also which i think was supposed to be. Funny you knew. She was the wacky one because she had firm lining her computer. Oh right edgy things and she she she learned. So oh yeah. She likes the The dialogue also. I thought was really funny. The first time of lou ferrigno junior the whole junior and the main character. They're having their first full conversation of and actually the first time they talked to the wacky nerd girl Everyone's incredibly sarcastic and very defensive with each other like what are you doing in his office. Oh i was looking for something. What are you looking for. I work with the professor. Okay do you work with them. Yeah i said i did. Did i say that you got a problem with it. Every single conversation was like this. It totally annoyed me with anything in this movie..

Well, that was a response to my friend didn't Thomas, who retired from Channel seven several years ago. She had posted a picture of herself real long, straight hair kind of a hippy outfit getting out of a tent. She looked like she was at Woodstock. You know, she looked like Janis Joplin. So everybody responded to her, and she was doing a thing called Vintage photo challenge. So she said, Mark, why don't you throw one up? So I put up a picture of me sitting on the back porch of my house in college. I thought it was 72. But my buddy said it was actually 74. But what's the difference? It's a blur anyway. "Jesse, Jackson, how you doing Jesse Happy Father's Day? We'll thank you. Charles Happy Father's Day to you as we record this on father's Day. A.. We've got a little better one. I was a little down last week. Not Horrible, but I think the show uptick little bit okay. I'm excited to talk about this one because we had some nice reveals that I really enjoyed and once again I have I should have faith in the writers with the exception of. Titles. They're doing everything. Okay yeah, yeah, so species speaking of the horrible titles here at episode one eighty one. We are going. Be Talking our man and doctor midnight. And as Jesse's camera springs to life I just noticed that it was not turned on. So so yeah, we're talking our doctor midnight the fifth episode of Star Girl Season One written by Melissa Carter who is a new to the series and directed by David Straighten who's directed some episodes of agents of Shield Star Trek, enterprise, fringe, a particular favorite of mine and Angel. So. Interesting background on that and. Certainly no problem directing something like this and so obviously in this episode we get the. BC Cameron Gilman as Rick Tyler, the new our man number, two and Lico Washington as Beth chapel new doctor midnight. Step into the forefront so. Just what your general thoughts on this one! I really liked it I liked I liked. The. I like that we had A. That Rick Tyler is a legacy right. You know one of the things. I had expressed concern about, and you did a little bit much as I that one of the things we love about infinity. Inc and everything is that whole idea of second generations and in this legacy, and to have a nice kind of surprise that Rick is Even though he had had a different last name is a direct, he is the son of you know rex tyler. Was Really Nice. Moment and you went. Oh, that's great and I totally get why Beth chapel could be irritating to handle. But there is a charm to her irritation that I just like a he is just of as we talked a little bit about it, she she still reminds me a little bit of Roy's best friend from the Gilmore girls, the end but. She's just I. I love her drive, and her I'm going to be part of this. Because I need to be part of this and rinse. Repeat is just really charming. How about you? What did you think of this one so? I was a little. You know a little bit thrown. Not really thrown, but just a little. Put off a little bit by changes to Rick Tyler because I'm a huge Rick Tyler our men Fan, he was one of my favorite characters in Infinity Inc and later in Geoff Johns JSA and You know just I really liked the character. So there's and there's some tweaks in this and I'm going to. We'll talk about, but you know. There's some differences you know this. This version of Rick Tyler is kind of more like A. Juvenile delinquent because of what happened to his parents a little angrier than the original comics version who? Had lost his parents. And you know what it was an artist. Instead of a car you know a gearhead and That you know, so, it's a little bit of differences, but not not not enough to ruin it for me. Did in now. Haven't they establish the skies an artist, too? Because he didn't, he painted the No, that was that was. That was icicle son. Okay family in the Kent Yeah. Okay, I'm getting by my teen angst. Confused, yeah. That's what I thought. It was odd is like rick should be the artist. Okay, but. But. They made icicle son. The artist. And then you know with with with death chapel. There are some differences here as well. Know that In comics. Adult. And I'll talk more about that little bit in our Trivia section, but But yeah I just I. Thought this was a for introducing heroes at once after giving wildcat, just a single episode hurt by herself. That you know I. I didn't feel like it. You know I was worried that it would be a little too rushed with everything. But I thought that the story structure for this episode worked. And you know. There was a nice balance. And you know. Obviously, we're GONNA see more once they start getting their costumes and wearing them next episode presumably, but you know the mystery gets furthered bit. And And overall I thought it was a pretty good episode, pretty solid episode. Yeah, I did, too. I thought the pacing was really well done I think it worked. Having! Beth kind of helped drive the story of Rick, reluctantly, being pulled in. we get to see Courtney annual, Onda little more bonding. Kind of more of a they've already started a team of two in. They're Kinda. You know okay, we're. We're slowly getting the scooby gang back together, not together back together, but we're getting the scooby gang together and I thought this work twelve, yeah! You know it just you know it's essentially it's it's courtney adding to her crew that she started adding to last episode with your Landa Montanez, the the new wildcat and You know it's It's it's interesting. What the dynamic that rick brings to the mix because he's the only guy at least so far. Into introduced into this little The like you said you know the the the scooby gang or the slayer ganged if you will. to use a more of Buffy, the vampire. slayer reference but but yeah I. Just you know I I think it's working so far and Um and we're GONNA. Talk more about Rick's motivations. For joining the group, which is a little different from everybody else and one of the things I really have liked so far and I know. This being CW and and I'm sorry, that's not a fair statement. Yeah, this being modern TV more of a DC universe show than the CW but we will. We will get you know ships. We will do because that is the nature of the beast now and but I like so far. That's been there is very little romance sub. subtexts that all right now. This is all purely trying to discover yourself and knowing what's going on so I I've enjoyed that. Yeah, I'm sure eventually. Then you know that will come into the fray, because hey, this is a Greg Berlanti show so you know it's going to creep in sooner or later. But hopefully later rather than sooner. We'll see we'll see, but although you know, you obviously need character development as well so so we'll see how that plays out. notable guests cast for this time. We got the return of Lou frig junior. Yes, the son of Lou Ferrigno, the incredible hulk from back in the day. as our man the first hour, man rex tyler. Chris Brock as Wendy Tyler his or should say Wendy Harris Tyler his his wife and mother of. Adam eldarous alderdice as mad Harris Wendy's brother. Exactly and we get the vocal return of Henry Thomas. You know who is obviously most notable for playing Elliott not and we last saw in the pilot. Episode Star Girl..

"He fights off the forces of Queen Maeve at the age of seventeen. Believe virtually singlehandedly like he's dat, powerful warrior, but he's eventually tricked by warriors in the employ of made and slain at the age of twenty seven, so not a long life, but then again. You know you're an Irish warrior. During the first century there's not a long life expectancy there now they kind of have to employ some trickery in order to overcome his strength, which think is a common feature in like mythic hero cycles you see that with like Samsung in in Jewish legend, and you sort of see version of it with Achilles with them, finding out his one weakness, and indeed there's basically like a three-part plan that has to be employed here I mean the first one being key. They tricked him into eating dogmeat. Which Breaks Taboo in weakens his spirit. Yeah, I read somewhere that this came about Bhai pitting two taboos against each other like there's a taboo against refusing hospitality on one hand, but there's also a taboo against eating dogmeat. So what if somebody shows you hospitality by offering you dog meat? You're you're caught? Yeah, you're caught there. That's you know. It's still interruptus so he had to pick, and he picked to not refusing hospitality, but he ate the dog meat, and that that screwed him up. Now the next thing that helps if you're trying to take out a half, divine warrior is to have a divine weapon of your own a magical weapon of your own that will will help you slay them, and so that's what the trio do here. They hit him with a magical disembowelling spear that is enchanted to kill kings. They apparently had three of these, and they used to on his on his compasses, including the chariot tear. King of chariots, which seems kind of like a a loophole in the whole king thing like you don't have to actually be a king. You're just kind of a quote. Unquote, a King of something, but colon has like a really bad dude moment here like he gets it with the spear, but he's like I'm not going down that easy. Yeah, he's not GONNA die. Like that, he is going to die standing up fighting, so he like tuxes innards back into his body. And then. Stumbles over to pillar lashes himself to the pillar that he can fight and die standing up right. They're going to have to come in and take him on his feet, but okay, so he's tied. They're dying and they gotta be trade right because Helen is the killing machine, even dying, cut open with a with the kill, Speier tied to Iraq or a pillar he's going to be. Be Scary, so they don't WanNa. Get too close so I think one source says that they had to wait until a bird landed on him in order to know that he had actually died. Yeah, and then they move in then what you do, you cut off his head to be sure when they cut off his head. There's this brilliant light that like cuts off. One of Attackers Sword Handset leave, and then it's not until they they cut off Colin sword arm that the light dies away and that he's definitely dead, so it's like you don't have one thing to cut away the seat of reason from this mighty warrior also have to cut away like the the physical sore hand of the warrior. There's a wonderful like full telling of this final battle of one in particular that light came from Lady Augusta Gregory. Coo. Coo Helen of Murtha Ni from nine hundred to. That's all online I. Recommend checking that out. If you want the full blow by blow, death of Colon, so how do we not have full hall and movie? Yeah, it seems like we should. I mean how many Hercules movies do. We have right way too many easily. Peel off some of that money into the Caholon Enterprise. Now we were talking before the episode about who to cast as we could not come up with a good idea because all of the best Irish actors, we were thinking of to cast this Irish hero, or now all those yeah, but like Pierce Brosnan Yeah Pierces right there in his name. But, but sadly like we said he he died at twenty seven. You need you need a young like powerful and imposing Irish men who is also a really good actor. Yeah I, think some of my favorite Irish actor. Let's see there's There's Brendan Gleeson guess he he's older now. There's I love. Liam Cunningham the guy who plays her Davos on game of thrones but HAG. I don't know I. I don't know who the young guy is I. Don't know everybody can think of is too old. Like even be There's a thinking well. Maybe a professional wrestler I get. A big muscle bound dude to play colon. Okay, there's there's a guy named shameless. WHO's a big Pale Irish wrestler, but he. He's too old for the part. Maybe he could play the doubt version of Colon. You do kind of. Like the incredible Hulk TV show Brad Lou Ferrigno playing the the actual Hulk Oh this is giving me a great idea, actually like the main normal Holland before he helps out, he should be like Super Way. Fi like a very very wavy, boyish teen heartthrob kind of Irish actor, and then when he hawks out, he gets replaced by the bodybuilder. Okay, I like this so we'll. Maybe our Irish listeners especially We'll have some ideas about who who could be cast in such a film are Irish listeners also I'm sure going to get in touch with us to let us know how badly we're saying all these words I'm sorry. All right well, we're GONNA. Take a break, but when we come back, we're going to get into the real meat of this episode. We're going to talk about. The unnatural. Death Weapon of Holland, we're GONNA talk about. The Guy Bulga everybody, today's episode is sponsored by Native Deodorant. We could petition the cons to like have a whole podcast area area. I think that would be a really good idea and they had passed away. So that's what i was gonna say. Is that the the info that they had given us that you can get a press pass <hes> <hes> to these kinds if you qualify for it. There's a little form you gotta fill out. If you qualify for a press pass you can get in and do interviews and much more a lot more stuff than what we we. Did you know legally yes without just like attacking people and saying hey what what are you doing. It was it it was awkward at first to try to stand there and talk to people. I see people on youtube. Do it all the time and i don't think anything of it. You know they're just standing there next to another person. I'm doing an interview but when you're putting the situation and you don't know the person you just walked up and you're like hey. We've got a youtube channel. I'm going to stand here and interview and and they've all said okay but but they did some awesome interviews with like lou ferrigno's. They didn't a little bit more professional. "Hearing, the Paul W Smith show. News, talk seven sixty WJR. Steve. I'm sorry. I let you down, but I wasn't going to ask about Marsha, and that old story or even even Florence Henderson, for goodness sakes. We've just speculating stories have been out there, but I I'm sure that people on a different kind of show, ask them about that all the time. Well, an amazing run Brady bunch what, what a show. And I it's just part of television history, and you sir to send a nice conversation with, with Greg, we really did have a nice conversation, and think about this, because, you know, in this job, we all meet a lot of people. But when, when you consider that, from the time that show went on just about fifty years ago, it's never been off television can't say that about a lot of shows you know, they leave they come back in reruns, and then they come back, you know, on these other channels that people buy them and run them by give Brian Morton, our very own a lot of grief for being a nerd. And I mean that the lease offensive way come up. But, you know, you got Comecon coming here. Yeah. And the great Henry winklers in town teamed in right now funds. There's a good dude. Right there. I need to ask them about a reverse mortgage. But anyway, here's the thing in. This is something our listeners are pretty sharp. But berry Williams mentioned that Henry winklers in come. He mentioned the other stars and celebrities, you know, how many people that I would interview that would not bring up these other stars or celebrities, because this is their moment. And yet he was very generous very mentioned Lou Ferrigno's who throughout the first pitch at tiger game. Earlier this how to. He like most. It didn't come in hot. I'll tell you that. I know this I didn't know somebody else was telling me this, I wish I could remember who it was. They were throwing out the first pitch and they went to stand on the mound. There's a hey, hey, hey, hey, no, no, no. You don't do it. You don't get stand on the mound. I didn't know that. Well, very rarely that's the mound for crying out loud. Well, I didn't know I didn't know it was hallowed ground while Bruce, Willis throughout the opening pitch at Phillies game earlier, Bruce, Willis. Yeah. The L diehard, you think he'd be able to bring a little bit of heat, but it bounced up there, and he did not have good form whatsoever. I was shot and was he booed? He was the Philly crowd. You'll Philly Philly I was there six years. I know Philly snowballs at Santa for crying out loud. They'll never live that down. How about the Tigers are they going to live here trouble? Are they gonna live down the embarrassment of seventeen to three? Listen, this is. I feel. So bad for Gardy Ron Gardenhire, you know, it was so bad last night that outfielder Brandon Dixon had to pitch the ninth for the record. He had a couple of scoreless appearances in Cincinnati last year gave up a two run shot last night. But, you know, the as you know, hitting it. Well, and another thing just a sloppy sloppy beginning of. There's one thing that irritates Ron Gardenhire it sloppy defensive play. You're going to go through your ups and downs offensively as Tigers are in that regard right now. But defensively you had Spencer Turnbull. He gave up six runs Tigers starter only one of those was earned. They're throwing it around and whatnot Tigers. By the way, outscored forty one to nine while looting the first four games their ten game homestand. Let's shift gears to another tiger showy that being tiger. Woods. The PGA championship going on at one difficult track Bethpage Black in beautiful Farmingdale, New York. A lot of experts. Station on tiger. Certainly there, Paul he wins the masters and everybody's thinking, well here we go back in position to overtake the legendary Jack Nicklaus for the major championship. He's plus two after his round he opted not to play a practice round on Wednesday a in to get some rest. Maybe he needed that practice from because he just didn't look competent. I think is the word that comes to mind. And now you know, you've got this other guy believe he is going to do it. I do believe he's going to get more majors. It doesn't mean he's going to win them. All right in a row while right now, you know, there's a big question going on is something off the course in his head that being the lawsuit that was filed that's horrible restaurant, tiger owns a restaurant in Jupiter, Florida. If you haven't heard there wasn't employee who was over served allegedly, he gets off work, and he starts drinking at his. His restaurant at his place. He worked and usually doesn't happen, the family of the young man who got completely intoxicated, and was killed subsequently in a driving accident afterwards. They're saying that tiger and his girlfriend who happens to be the general manager of the establishment. Knew he was an alcoholic and still served him. However, it has come out that, there were traces of THC. Lawyers, call it the pockets they go after the deep pockets. So anything that Tigers involved with, if there's a lawsuit they're going to include him because he has the pockets. It's ridiculous. I hope it doesn't relieve to anything, and this young man's attorneys are saying that all of a sudden, the video of their client drinking in the aforementioned establishment has disappeared. So you know what tiger is maybe got that on his mind and whatnot. I don't know. But second round play the PGA championship is underway. Great viewing throughout the weekend. Bethpage. Black doesn't get more difficult and kept doing what well the last golfer to do what he did was one hundred one years ago to shoot a seven under sixty three twice playing with a lot of confidence. I'll tell you what the twenty nine year old comply seven forty.

We gotta make baseball great again baseball. I've I've gone after baseball over the last couple of weeks because because I don't think baseball needs defending. I don't think it should need to be defended. And I think that baseball's doing some things wrong in terms of its own promotion. The first thing that got brought up today when the chargers were the investigation. Tyreek hill was brought up. It wasn't about tyreek hill going to prison because if his son this is his son, correct? Correct. If his son. Has a broken arm, and it was caused by tyreek hill he's not playing in the NFL anymore. Folks. He's going to prison. But that was the first thing people said. It was Kentucky he'll play from IT. If the chiefs get rid of them, Ken, do you think team x will pick him up? It's amazing to me. And I know fans don't wanna be called dirtbags or scumbags or pieces. A you know, what for being sports fans there sports fans, but they are so trained to think in terms of the team that they don't look at it and go, hey, man. This guy is facing serious prison time if he is found guilty of abusing the child. It doesn't cross our mind football. We move right on through it basketball. There's any problem like that? We basically move right on through it. Major league baseball where I haven't seen yet. You had the incident you had a couple of other incidents Acuna, but you, but you also have for the most part. Guys that really don't break the law guys that don't have a whole lot of problems are not in the they're not in those type of police blotters the way guys are in other sports. And we are still talking about steroids. We are still talking about the steroid air, we are still debating whether or not those guys should be in the hall of fame. It's been nearly since that era nineteen ninety seven the nineteen nineties throughout the early two thousands. Folks, we're going on twenty years that this ghost has been walking around. Major league baseball football Kareem hunt kicks a woman in a hallway. All right. He's going to be suspended for eight games. All right. So when he comes back to the Browns and see what's going to you just move on. Sad. It's true. How about guys hitting women? Greg heart done matter. You just we move on baseball while, you know, Roger Clemens he did steroids and Jose Canseco. He did steroids. Basically what they really did is they put a needle in their assets. All they did. Well, they cheated the game. What are the guys who are trying to cheat? Bill bell checks, go into the hall of fame. Tom Brady is going to the hall of fame. They're all going. We're watching Tennessee basketball right now. Rick Barnes is their head coach don't mean to recklessly speculate. But I didn't think Tennessee was really ripping things down and Rick Barnes. Well, Barnes's Rick Barnes, you can't help. But wonder America, I'm serious. But in baseball while you see Barry Bonds sat on a picnic table once and he got into an argument with gene wilder hausky. So Barry Bonds is a bad, dude. Man. Okay. So because this is a bad, dude. Twenty years later, we still have to hold that to the feet of the fire with guys like Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo. Okay. Yeah. That's it baseball. They they just don't do themselves. The service move on promote promote those guys move on. Get over steroid stop talking about steroids. But you can't help it with baseball. And they try to fix things for non baseball fans aren't even going to go to the ballpark to begin with while. We're trying to shorten baseball games. Okay. I dig that you can short it. I don't know if you should really be promoting that you're shorting it so much. I really don't know who's going to go to if you don't like baseball. You don't like baseball. Are you really going to go to a baseball game? If you're told it's going to be seventeen minutes shoulder shorter. I'm not been to a professional soccer game. I have nothing against soccer. I've never been to one. I really don't wanna go to one. I have a professional MLS team. That's not that bad. That's about ninety minutes away from where I live. I could go down there. If I want to maybe I will do someday. I choose not if you tell me that it's going to be a shorter amount of time, which soccer games aren't even that long to begin with. It's still not going to make me go if you don't like baseball, you don't like baseball and telling people that they're going to be there for a shorter amount of time is not the way to promote your game. It's not something that you're getting through. It's a pastime. You're supposed to enjoy yourself while you're there. Two weeks ago? I said this. The emergency room at hospitals, promote how short their wait time is the B M V tells you how short their wait time is not professional sports. You got players promote the players Bryce Harper his hair his beard, his attitude promote that guy Manny Machado. He seems to run a lot of people the wrong way promote that guy. Mike trout, a lot of people seem to like it. But they can't pick him out of a lineup will can't he doesn't really wanna talk. He's like George Harrison from the Beatles. He's the quiet superstar. I don't give a damn make them go off their someone talks and sensor on the Tom that he's doing it not just for himself. But he's doing it for his game. Make them feel guilty. I don't give a damn almost said something else. Get these guys out there. Pro football players were visors and helmets. You can't see their faces during these games. You know, exactly who these guys are. Odell Beckham junior walks down the street children who he is old people know who he is my trot walks down the street. He's another guy. Promote your brand stop giving me. Well, we're going to have a three batter rule. Okay. Now, I'm gonna start watching baseball. Because now the now the pictures gotta make three batters. Oh, great. Take away from the strategy of the game. That's supposed to be one of the fun. Things about baseball. Great. Got it. You're doing very well. Some of the things that they did were homerun derby a million bucks to the winter. I'm in you're gonna get big names. Go do that mound visits. I'm in a hate when you walk out there and do that good fine. But this other stuff the three better. Roll the pitch count. All this stuff that the pitch clock. Great. Yeah. I'm really going to buy tickets now. Eight five five two one two four CBS. If you're gonna come up with a plan come up with something that's actually going to work like I did shorten the counter expand the playoffs. Let's make baseball. Great again next on CBS sports radio right now. It's the latest sports update with a guy who knows dad would even think is even bigger than Lou Ferrigno. It's.
