"I just Locked myself in my house and didn't leave and and didn't leave my room very much, And I almost lost my mind. I mean, being cooped up doesn't begin to describe the sensation of just knowing you couldn't leave. So what degree do you think n ba players, especially if and as they advance not being able to leave this bubble is gonna have an impact on chemistry. Morale play the product on the floor of the coaches and players of these do tell a copper ts calls or videoconference calls right now. Felt that that's their biggest concern is how to find a way to make this enjoyable. So if you look at those Disney properties go, there are things to do. They're going to open up some of those states in terms of restaurants. Places to go so that they could get out and have some kind of normalcy as best as possible. But the mental aspect of this bill is huge. I think David Griffin, the executive VP of basketball acts for the doorless, Pelikan said the other day. That this is going to be a huge focus for their team that That having to be so stressful, you know, they're doing better. Well, this activities every day with their director of health and mental well, this That's how seriously the scenes are taking ago. They know it can't have a tool off to be able to do things that you're used to doing. None of these players don't even think of a long road trip or playoff series. They're not on the road during the season for more than 10 11 days at a time. And now you're asking them to be away from their family again. I tryto have perspective here that there there are hardships going on around us that are worse, but that also doesn't detract from each individual situation. And their happiness, their family life. And so we do have to acknowledge what a difficult act this is for the N B. A. And the Players Association to have players do this. So the team back and maybe fight its way through this. Off and five things to do, and they're going to be saying that they can't do bill that they're going to try to provide it, and I don't tell jokes. But we saw that one document about playing cards and pay pond. They're gonna open it up the golf Think they're going to try to have some kind of fishy off expeditions that some of those lakes that around the property and bullied so they are going to try to provide some activities bill that they could get out and it's just not basketball in your room basketball. Jeff's will get here on the Jim Rome show Bill Roger filling in for Jim, Jeff, and I know you just walk us through a lot of them. There are a lot of intangibles and a lot of things that we can't predict as it relates to how players going to react. But with the information you have right asbestos, Khun try to guess added, what teams do you think have stark advantages or disadvantages when it comes to the uniqueness of this bubble and what we're going to see on the floor? Wow, Bill, So look for the mental portion of that is going to be up there. So then I start to look a veteran team. Or teams that have played deep into the playoffs. So let's just start with the Toronto Raptors defending champion everyone back except Kwai very strong leadership. With Kyle Lowry on that team quality players. Ah, great Coach goes to navigate the general manager front office backing from ownership. That's a TV that you know what I expect to do Well. Los Angeles Lakers, and I thought the Clippers in there, too, because they also have veteran players off of that. But will you look at a guy like LeBron who has been so many tough experience like this? So many different playoff experiences and could be a leader for a team. So I'm looking at leadership of looking at veterans looking a stability. Teams that are a little bit younger are probably going to have trouble in this that maybe don't understand what the bride the playoffs is like an adorable Situation. And so that's what I'm looking at. When I start to at least Try to figure out what teams are going before. Well at the start. I willing to acknowledge that this is a good offer change. You know, maybe a young T was nothingto lose off. It doesn't understand the pressure. There's no fans of the arena. The atmosphere is different. You know what was the phrase bill? You know, there's guys who perform well Wednesday, a practice In the NFL. But Sunday in a game they don't well, maybe those guys who perform well in practice with no fans. Aziz different kind of pressure before. Well, the situation. I mean, those are things that you and I and others are going to be watching throughout this It's all absolutely fascinating. Jeff's will get from U S A today. On Twitter. Jeff slogan is always buddy. Love having me on thanks for making time and hope to see you soon and in hopefully better times. Yeah, Same here. Bill. Take care of yourself and your family to you, too, buddy. We say thank you, Geoffrey, Jeff's ill Get on this show. Jeff does a really tremendous job covering the association. You don't follow him on Twitter. It's Jeff's will get and I promise you're worth your time over at Yusa today. It's an interesting point in it, and there's a lot of things that are sort of contemplated. It's bubble up into my brain as it relates to how this is going to impact players. I think I think small thing but will be significant. We know that role. Players don't play well on the road in the playoffs and do what play well at home. How does that play out of the neutral court is probably going to guide a guy and John makes a good point. Some guys don't do as well. It feels Telling you and haven't got a lot of finals and Super Bowls and all that. Ah, charge that goes through the stands sometimes goes through the floor and the players. That silence the as Rob Stone put it, the the quiet nature of where we're at now, and how that's going to feel in some big semi final or conference finals will be fascinating. I've got a couple of NBA teams. I think some data And some of what we saw this year. Tell the tale of who's going to benefit and who's not. When we get to this very bizarre bubble situation. I'll break out. The numbers will bring out break out the analytics. I'll give you a couple names. You're not expected N BA contenders when we come back to the gym, Rome show here in just a minute..

"For you personally or just colleagues. You've talked Teo. Do you have a sense of how many media members feel comfortable with going down to Disney? I think, Bill, you know, Look, Do I have some comfort level? I do. You know, Do I worry about, you know, traveling commercials for by all to Orlando? That is concerned. No advantage to, you know, do the right thing here at home for the you know, since you know, barks with You know, people started to pay a little bit more attention to this where basket going out. And I think all those requirements inside the bubble social distance where a bath will limit it. But you also can't be concerned about that. Because you are all the sudden it putting yourself in. You know, I haven't been many places outside of a grocery store with more than 100 people. Get it, and I'm not sure by grocery stores have allowed 100 people. Love in it at one time it So you know, all of a sudden you're open yourself up to a much greater indoor environment. We just think you know, even though there's going to be no fans, bill there's going to be, you know, TV people operating cameras, you know, having video There's going to be the team and their staffers as at the media who is inside you, Rita and watch. You know it's going to Smallville, but you still have opened yourself off. So I think there's concern of media people myself included. But also Bill I mean, I can't help. You know there's the human side of this. But you and I built talking about this is from the journalistic side. One opportunity. I mean, how many of you know how many situations where we have like this? The rest of our lives. Cover MBA finals championship play offs and that environment I hope it doesn't happen again, Bill so it so it's really taking a once in a lifetime event. An opportunity to cover something so unique and different and again. I hope we never see it again. But that's another way of approaching it. As a journalist, you want to be Well where the news is where it's happening. And you know, you and I are both on the same page. Planned Parenthood Improperly Claimed $80 Million in Coronavirus-Relief Loans

"Morning which organizations should get money from the federal government's coronavirus relief programs like many Planned Parenthood chapters around this country received funds from the paycheck protection program several Republican senators now want Planned Parenthood to return the money NPR national correspondent Jeremy cameras on the story Sarah good morning good morning Steve what did the Planned Parenthood chapters receive exactly so what we're talking about is the federal loan program under what's known as the cares act the one meant to keep small business workers on the payroll during this crisis so small businesses and small nonprofits with fewer than five hundred employees can apply for forgivable loans and it's important to note that while Planned Parenthood federation of America is a big national organization the national groups as they did not apply for these funds instead it's the local Planned Parenthood organizations that operate clinics around the country that received the money I talked with Stephanie frame the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of southwest and central Florida she says they got a little over two million dollars mostly to cover employee paychecks economic uncertainty at that moment was profound and the two weeks while we waited for this loan we spent having some very tough conversations about what we do we didn't get a strong so it's not clear how much Planned Parenthood or its affiliated groups have applied for or received nation wide fox news has reported and some Republican senators have repeated a figure of eighty million dollars combined nationally but the small business administration which administrates these loans would only say that the agency doesn't comment on individual borrowers okay but in any case the money was loaned to these Planned Parenthood chapters loans that they may not have to pay back if they keep people on the payroll like a lot of other businesses and non profits but this particular nonprofit does work that some Republican lawmakers are ideologically opposed to what they say right a Florida senator Marco Rubio who's chairman of the Senate small business committee says that Planned Parenthood isn't eligible for these funds under the program's rules he wants the money returned immediately he wants the SBA the small business administration to investigate why and how Planned Parenthood got the money and I talked with Republican senator James Lankford of Oklahoma who's also objected to this he also wants Planned Parenthood to send the money back that's what the Los Angeles Lakers are done that's what check check is done that's where risk Chris is done so other organizations arms exposed that they should not taken the money have returned the money so that would be the reasonable thing for them to be able to beat and Lankford says because Planned Parenthood affiliates nationwide have many more than five hundred employees combined they don't qualify so Steve there's some dispute about how to interpret these rules but let's not forget there is a big political element to this I mean currently it is illegal in most cases for federal funds to pay for abortion but there is a long standing political debate about any federal funds going to Planned Parenthood because of what it has come to represent about the national debate around abortion and of course Planned Parenthood has argued they do a whole lot more than that perform abortions how is Planned Parenthood responding to the specific criticism here well they say they haven't received word from the SBA small business administration about this they only know what Republican senators are saying and what's been reported by fox which says that the SBA has sent a letter to Planned Parenthood affiliates informing them that they're not eligible for this money and instructing them to return it but again SBA isn't commenting on this are you able to figure out what the rules actually say and how they actually apply to this particular organization it's hard to say for sure Steve I talked to a few lawyers about this and I'm hearing that there is just a lot of confusion Republican senators insists Planned Parenthood doesn't qualify under the rules Planned Parenthood says each local affiliate looked at the program decided whether to apply for this paycheck support but a lot of lawyers say the rules are unclear and they've been

"A couple of like not even like us not even like a whole scoop. I just had like half a little scoop, and that's fine like it's like you gotTa. Have Self Control Man. Self Control and me are very difficult when it comes to sweets, anything else I've great self control when it comes to sweets I. It's very very difficult to style. Let me let me tell you. Let me tell you about something that you won't have a lot of difficulty with well. Actually on the flip side you may have a lot of difficulty with so ESPN is put out its power rankings heading into the bubble right. The twenty two teams for the NBA restart number one the Milwaukee Bucks which look. I think they were. I don't think you can have a huge argument about the Milwaukee Bucks. Maybe you could say the Lakers or whatever. Because, they beat them at the end, but I i. don't think you can muster up tremendous argument and be like really incredulous. All my God. I can't believe they picked the marks. The Lakers right like I'm sure there's somebody that can, but I can't muster that kind of energy and I'm sure you can't either. No No I. I I do think that the Lakers the best team going into the bubble, but I understand why they put the bucks right so now here's where you're gonNA. Have have a problem number. Two on this list are the clippers and the clippers are number two. Their previous ranking was number three and it talks about. Just having their whole team back together and the clippers. Will will have to Kinda build some chemistry again in dealing with the unprecedented situation, but that the health part of this will help them particularly with Paul George. I had some lingering injuries, but Paul George was banged up like he had the the issues with the hamstrings number. Three. Your Los Angeles Lakers. And they are in. There are a couple of things here. As to why they're number three, but go ahead. You were gonNA say heard breathing heavy. No I was I. Thought you were pausing I was trying to respect the pause. But I don't understand why they flip flop that so keep going explain later. Yeah, so I, think part of their reasoning. Is something. We talked about last week. Anthony Davis is reluctant to play the five this season. Even though the Lakers defensive efficiency, get this. This is incredible. Even the Lakers defensive efficiency was at its best with him. They're allowing a miniscule one point one. Excuse me allowing a miniscule one hundred one point four points per one hundred possessions, according to ESPN STATS AND INFO Frank. Vogel says he's Hopeful Not Saddle Davis at center any more than we were doing prior. If Howard isn't available, that leaves the lion share for Javale McGee was average only sixteen point eight minutes per game at as the starting center this season, so their questions are Dwight, which we still don't have answers on and the fact that Anthony Davis is reluctant to play the five, even though his numbers are absolutely incredible while he's there. I just don't understand that they're talking about how the clippers are going to have to reestablish their their continuity. They're gonNA. Have to reestablish all that and the Lakers are not going to have to do that even without Dwight, even without avery Bradley I decided. I they they already showed that started off the season. They were already right. But if you take out of the equation like that's a big piece of the puzzle, that's not like a small piece. No, I don't think it's a small piece, but I think taken. Have other guys step up? That as much as dwight is a pretty decent size specially coming off the bench. The main pieces are still there that they're going to need to put it to push forward, so they already have they already have the camps rebuilt in. Here's what I would say, and this is what it's going to boil down to. And honestly I've said this numerous times for months right going back to pre the pre pandemic. This season is going to hinge upon Anthony Davis I know that sucks to say that it really hinges on one person because there's a lot of intricacies that go into winning a championship I'm not disputing that okay, but. The biggest reason for the Lakers winning a championship will be because of Anthony. Davis Anthony Davis is reluctance to play the five. He's GonNa have to get over that and he's going to have to play the five more particularly in the postseason. Hopefully he understands that because we know. Lebron is GONNA. Give you in the playoffs we do. We know what he's going to bring to the table. Anthony Davis while putting up big numbers still has some questions right? We have questions about his playoff viability. I don't think they're fair to question because he didn't necessarily play on with another great player, but that's the reality of the world that he's going to live in, and it doesn't mean that the Avery Bradley thing is in is in a big deal though I don't think it's as big a deal as Dwight. It doesn't mean that the dwight part of this isn't a big deal because I think it is, but the Anthony Davis portion of this if we were if we were doing a. You know we're giving this up like slices of pizza the Anthony. Davis portion of this pizza would be closer to half, and the other parts are kind of mixed in there with the other half of the pizza, Pie, if you know what I'm saying. Yeah, I. Totally agree now. Let me ask you. Do you really believe that if he needs to play center Anthony Davis will not play center because he's so against that. No. I think that Lebron can convince him otherwise I do I do. Believe Lebron can convince him otherwise, and I do think that he understands that in this situation that if you're GonNa, win a championship, you have to make sacrifices and the sacrifices. He's GonNa have to make. Are Playing Center okay. You know. I've seen this before. There's a lot of guys who were reluctant to play center Al Horford I'll give. You is a perfect example for a long time didn't want to be a guy who played center, but then he realized Oh. The position, I play center. You know what I'm saying like. When I play center. That's when he was with the hawks. That's when he was with the The Celtics even in limited opportunities because Joel embiid is there with the sixers? It's the same thing and I remember way beyond that right like. He wasn't as reluctant to play center, but people would question, and this is like a long time ago. Now right people were questioning whether Chris Bosh could hold up as a senator and he held up just fine. You know what I'm saying like so I think that there are numerous examples whether it's the media questioning a guy can play there or a guy kind of not really. Really being on board with it and it working out and Anthony Davis just has to get there and realize that, and maybe he does, but maybe he's just saving himself for the playoffs.

"They WANNA. Give them to so not only do. The Lakers have enough assets to get Damian Lillard which the answer to that is no. They can't even make it work under the CBA without some crazy gymnastics. and. The Blazers don't WanNa. Give Damian Lillard to the Lakers. Happening, I'm sorry, sakes, mum it for it to happen. Is Very very very slim now. One more thing about though today if you've ever Damian Lillard talk. You know that it's outside of his values for him to make a jump like that's a Los Angeles Lakers especially. When you look at the team, we already have. It is completely I just I don't buy into this at all I. Don't think anybody out there for Lakers. Agents should not get excited about it if you've ever heard Damian Lillard talk. He's not the type of cat so you know jump over to a team with the Lebron James and Anthony Davis, so it's just it's just not going to happen for that reason. Let alone everything you just alluded to when it comes to money. Yeah, I'm not saying they can't figure out a way to make it work. Under the CPA, like there's enough smart minds in there where they can probably figured I'm sure. Some people have broken it down already saying it's very difficult to get up to that much money in salary. There's a lot of hurdles in there I'm you'll be great Damian. Lillard needs to take a page out of layer Fitzgerald's book and. Living here in Arizona I remember watching. I've been watching Larry for ten twelve years feels like forever. He's been on this roster maybe about seven years ago. I had as much love for Larry Fitzgerald on this football team, as I could ever have player that's ever played for this organization I always wanted him to move on and be able to compete at the highest level in show exactly the type of player he was. That's something that I'm sure. There are at least some Portland fans. Of course you don't want to get rid of Damian Lillard I never wanted to lose late shale, either but the fact that he can move on maybe not to the Lakers, but maybe another team that actually gives. Gives him a legitimate shot every year to play deep into the playoffs. He's that type of player. He's an absolute superstar that really has been held back by organization. That has a really put together. Of course they've had injuries, but now a few good runs through they have had some good runs, but I would love to see Damian Lillard words like he can outplay the other teams best player, and that's enough to win title. He would surprise. Some people have how good he is. Yeah, I agree. I think that he is underrated because of where he is right, then that's and that's unfortunate, but if he is dead, set on staying there more power to right, and like I wonder what is. I wonder what would have happened. If Lebron James had been like that and decided to leave Cleveland because he was going to stay loyal to that owner into that organization like you know, it's just an edge because that's kind of where Damian's I mean he's very much seems to me about loyalty about not. Following other guys and you know doing the whole pairing up with other people think, but you know I mean it would be nice to see Damian probably somewhere else to be honest but. I don't know it just made me think of Lebron James. Lebron James had to leave Cleveland in order to do kind of like what you said. And then he had success in Miami, but you know what would have happened with the Brown if he would've never went to Miami. It's just interesting questions. I'm trying to think of landing spots for Navy Lillard. Like state has some assets..

"The converse wants to with the Star on. How far are we going? Pretty sure they have those yet. I'm trying to think if anything else next week. It looks like it's the Dream Team Centers. More reason shit on the Dream to an Kobe unaware away. I saw that they teased on where he folds into the Dream Team. I think it's gotTa be six. I'm guessing I don't know 'cause like three or four related till good better decade Robbins Rome's bet like ended at eight so if they do five and six get through like Dream Team and Kobe. Coming into the league like okay. I could see that. Is that like a does that. Relevant to the ninety eight bulls. We're GONNA find out. I guess like if you're talking about like all of it I could see like the competitor stuff or like challengers Magadan like this kid was. He was good he was nineteen. Like I'm in right now like yeah because as all time is Kobe is. It wasn't like he didn't enter the draft like Lebron. Three people knew him and even more so on the basketball world. But it wasn't this national hysteria. Like Oh my God. This kid's in the draft. No it was a thing where I do remember this at everybody. Who had like seeing legit? Seen Him was like this guy's going to be great right again. There's not that much information about how schools out there at the time. His legal right. I was trying to think if he came up in the mix tape era like his book so different than like just the way plays like he had dunks of course but like jab steps like what is this You'd have seven minutes. Said that draft express violent on just like footwork post footwork. This kid is in eleventh grade. Terrify speak three languages yet. Kobe's running teammates in the walls in like races. Like a be right. I don't need to be in the mix tape air. That'd be on to also think completely just because you brought up that music. I really respect how the NFL draft still uses like the Chris. Berman highlight music Yeah now when when you strike gold. Yeah now it's quite the tune but here in that for two hundred sixty over money picks I didn't get sick about once as a classic instrumental I still. I kinda want Roger Goodell to host more things now do you everything just Jose market sweet but Roger Goodell chopped magic host. I would just watch the. Yeah come on San Francisco better than that if I have cheer cheer or Boo. Can't say the car is like yeah. That's right with orthopedic. I've eaten some Adams. Dude and doon. Doon Doon did we get that noise this year. I felt like I didn't realize I really did. There were two different broadcasts. Really was the savvy broadcast and the football broadcast was a Saturday when ABC. Yeah I could see that I was like I didn't like 'cause I kept seeing people saying like Bourne suffers talking about it. I thought they were doing like post like announced lake. We're doing live coverage. I thought it was only the ones I got the Sad Shit Bay but then I was like wait a minute. Why DOES IT EXIST? Who was marketed? Russillo and Simmons. Dr Better sound like those pieces on like College Game Day. Do really well people started. So it's like I get it but it's because it's like nine minutes of a two hour show not yet every minute of a three day show too that credit but I do remember that last year too. They were like they're trying to have a broader appeal one. That wasn't as deep into football as much which I can understand. Especially if like you don't know like if you. Never Watch College Football. You have no idea about these kids like sense of from. Baylor like that's not going to do anything for you. Do get it but based on how they decided to handle it this year. Don't get it the thing is you remember like I wouldn't remember Elliot remember him you know. He lost his parents. Or something like that when you give me two hundred and fifty people. That lost their.

"Dennis Rodman Remove Day's so boring persona non grata. Donald Rodman What did you take anything away from this one last night the thing I keep taking away I think Michael Jordan keeps coming off better and better without question like Simmons said. I think he's like six. Seven eight is the ones where it's like these the ones that people might think he's a bad guy. Sounds like it's coming but I was like so far I was like he's been more daring than ever seen him. The Burrell stuff was very funny. Yeah that's where I'm hoping like. I think they're teasing that for what's coming up of him just busting balls which would be great But I'm in yeah. The Rodman thing was fine. I thought they could have did more on like Phil Jackson. Honestly well they made. They converted him to full native American. Which is tough you sure. And he was back and forth with our lose. Some fancy Freeman I would I would watch it entire thirty for thirty just on Puerto Rican basketball. Yeah that's what I'm saying like there's some stuff and I like the money said I think Simmons said it to like. There's so much they didn't. They didn't go into the transition from Phil. Jet Like Phil Jackson. Basically campaigning to get the job in dot com of lewd to. Is He really going to get into? But we know Phil Jackson right by getting with TEX WINTER JERRY. Krause loved like strategic. It is what it is it works so I mean without question it worked. I mean they will also have first year so knows him. Krause was on the hot seat. That's right he was never on the hot seat. Doing now It took for the seat. Got Hot I think they were asked to move nicely. Yeah it was Jay Don was like this is what kind of owner Jerry. Reinsdorf is in ninety four like the baseball strike. He was the main one. Argument will if we just canceled the word. Zoos cancel the world series. White Sox went first place. There was a frank. Thomas was about to set. He still won. Mvp didn't like one hundred nineteen games. Iran's door for still like I'm not playing the bug man like I would. That's the level of owner J Ryan Like he don't care about the issue and he said he would treat all six of those rains for white sox world series which is hilarious thing to say. It's well he got. They WANNA know five This before that though he like ninety eight no five he was like. Oh in a heartbeat. Oh It's Jordan. Going to hit a curveball. Instead of thirty a M act listen. It's real easy to be that guy like like Donald Sterling when your last place super easy to be that guy when you're in first which is the best alien. You're just still now that's respectable. Yeah he's like I don't care like do we. All all three of US eight the same guy. If you remove one of these guys and Jay rise over light are here like the immovable one so I have the one You guys speak. I'm you guys. We got shotgun. I thought they kinda very quickly glossed over. Dennis Rodman's suicide attempt outside of the stadium. I was that was another one I was like. I didn't know that. Oh Yeah Yeah just not remember that or listen. If you watch a movie you would know that forget it. What sleep through the guys boring is I went on with Colin Eddie? After I had seen it. Either my goal out of all this. Corinthian is to get everyone to watch Dennis. Rodman's I believe self-funded movie what's a call. How parts of a preview for it on Youtube as I said. We're not opposed to whiteness. But where would watch it? I caught it on fucking fucking like showtime one Random Day The bad it's I WANNA be bad as I WANNA be. Is He himself no? But he'll he shows up a lot like there's a lot of like random asides where he just POPs up he's GonNa Drive Best Friend Hill. He just started up breaks while in talking. Okay I appreciate it. Let's see I I found it like fifteen minutes of it on okay. Does that starts. I'm pretty sure this is what year asking a lot of questions. May I've never seen this was ninety? Eight okay this is what he went to Vegas for people. He was partying he. He had a deadline for Special Air. A SPECIAL APPEARANCE BY CHICAGO EB. This is on. The bus is music video passing through. Ao Quinoa noted. Certainly no flower mound. Everyone knows it intra. I was like opening credits. Really setting the scene Robbins. Actually the running for them biography of Chicago Bulls Basketball Star. Dennis Rodman who is well known for his off. Court and on-court Shenanigans takes great effort paint the Com- decided the athlete despite despite the film title Dennis shown to be pushed by his mama to play pro. That's been the actual summary to play pro ball and go to college where he would get the opportunity shift. Oklahoma faces racism. He's taken in by a white family and goes by long reisman. The movie finally tracks Robin into his wild multi. Hair colored current lifestyle. And Yeah. There's a whole scene like this movie of course based on the book by dinners run with Tim. Now there's like he basically the way this movie tells it he gets discovered like on like a random like playground. Basketball Court believe Telling Ninety percent of people were discovered until like ninety eight. That's Dennis I'm guessing Save basketball here. You got the bomb on isn't it? I don't remember this beginning. All where. How much backstory deserted early laying Is reason I never seen this mom now. The courts play basketball. No you gotta get the hell out of my own okay. But yeah the ONCE HE GETS TO PLAN. I think they pretty much gloss over Detroit to its Moseley about like college and then this is. The coach at the bottom is Liz. My son's good. I thought he six. I'm on my way like there was furious. I won't do it. I want to wear this vast. He's five Roy around at. I knew it was a mistake to play basketball. Eglise understand you cannot wear that list..

"Bom man say Lakers poor Michael Jordan Oh yeah so we. We talked about this earlier while we were waiting for an interview. We did mud bill. Seven has come out at stake. Seven's already co signed it and I don't have any qualms with Russillo Bill Simmons said Dennis Rodman nod interesting. It's a tate. Listen I listened to it. I went after much. Yeah I listened to it and now they're both heavy on that side of it. I just very much disagree with them. Do they have any good points? I'm trying to basically. It was Russillo point. He did originally bring it up but the point. You know what somebody says that you're like okay. I'm listening like make your argument. Somebody says up. And you're like after that I'm out. After the way he treated him in San Antonio I was like okay never mind I I get it. We just see this differently. He's like are you kidding me? He's going to decide to take a forty eight hour vacation and this is just this is just funny. I'm like extremely wildly Mike. This is if he did like a forty eight hour bender every month. Maybe if this is a one time that we know of like over eighty two game. Okay if they just call it. Those load management now right didn't say you know what I'm saying but yeah. He missed a Friday and Saturday game. You'll be back to vegas the hawks. It's someone who's so in tapped with like the league right now so worried about mental health as well they should be but Dennis. Rodman was so in tune with his own. It was like listen. I need this for my own mental breakdown and like IOS line someone at Midcourt and none of that's like an incredible thing to self diagnose and Bill Simmons like a bum will also like I don't know what happened in San Antonio but it might have been a thing where it's like. I've been trying to get this for Like you might see. I think y more just confirms it. Now they have one way. It's it's a successful way right. But if you're not in that way while they traded him for like Wilbur do like they just wanted him out of there but yet once he said that he was He also was like A. I don't guys to turn it off and turn it on. In the first person he mentioned was Rasheed Wallace and I was like I'm out. I'm out because I love her. She Wallace I get it. I what you're saying. He's received was unhappy in Portland and then he left. And he's just a Mr great teammate. In Detroit in their champion now and everybody's okay with that might listen. They were jail blazers. Wash it again. Just be stuck in a message waiting. Don't WanNa be I don't and like there have been countless guys. It's like Oh if you just got him out of that situation I'd Betty aid thrive and then they do like. This isn't like a thing that happened like once. Every forty years Vince. Carter about to make the hall of Fame Office. I'm he hates it to his credit concert. He hates men. Scott the Simmons. The again Russillo was the the main but just to go immediately to Rashid. It's like interesting when a guy was a better scenario. Blake better right I like my only gripe is if you sign a contract you don't like meteor like immediately. I one out that is kind of weak but mentioned it so those were the two once he said those two things I was like. Yeah we're just GONNA disagree. Here he was like nothing is robins like the misunderstood guy he was. We didn't learn anything new about Rodman which I don't disagree with that I didn't know nobody knew this Vegas Story. I don't think now in general but I I didn't learn a whole knew about the bad boy pistons but I still like to watch. I'm yeah I mean he looks like ESPN. This was when they did that. Three par Celtics Lakers series. No Alert Shit knew about that any out anyone other than me. I didn't even complain. I was just like you all that I was sick to watch but it was like okay. And he's like so he's he's I'm so misunderstood as I okay. So he's on Barbara. Walters explain yourself on just percent stood. I dye my hair and all this stuff. Like eight and book is Self Barbara Walters. Right like Anna. I see where he's coming from we've just onto completely opposite sides but those all seem like even more like. I don't like this guy. Not even defending like he's not interesting. By which again. We talked about a little bit earlier. I respect that much more. They were like man. I just like I just don't like did they. Rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't like them. Whatever Oak. I get that right but if you can say. This guy was part of two dinosaurs The Pistons a dynasty. Like back to back and it was something I think Simmons set back to back at a time when nobody it was like Russell. Those Magic Lakers with only gas to go back to bed so going back then and the way they did it like they went. Through the Celtics Bulls Lakers in the same year and lost two games that entire postseason so but it was only two year run. Also whatever whatever you whatever the run I mean they didn't even win the second most titles in the eighties yet like the end. That's the thing is a dynasty right. Whatever what what's the closest you can be a dynasty without being a dynasty Well that's what I mean like. They're his there a notch above like the cavs team that won at once the other Pistons. Teammate WanNa wants the oath Celtics. They're knowledgeable but I don't know without say said I would go. Would you call the Lebron heat a dynasty now right so I would also nobody? I don't know if anybody ever has a run like that. Like Celtics Bulls Jordan. When he was Jordan. Right Lakers and those previous two years. I think they want eighty eighty nine eighty six. They lost to the Celtics in seven. I think like the eighty six like best team ever lost. Offers Finals Eighty seven? They lost to the Lakers in game. Seven of the finals. So that's one of those right. They were like very close to heaven. Three maybe four like who knows that they play the Lakers. Well who knows they might have three of four or six in eighty six. They were to beat. The rockets rockets was upset. So but and eighty seven. I think they went to seven with the Celtics that year. Too like they were going it was. It was a true. Like changing hands is what I'm saying. They went to seven loss. I believe they went to it was six or seven one and then lost the Lakers. And then they got over that next year Pass that year. They were Super Radio and I talked about the it was like the Pistons thing. They're kind like underappreciated into psych. Ma like you went up against like the Bull Celtics Lakers. You beat those guys. You get your credit but you also weren't those guys so you don't get that credit is what it is at the Celtics. What one three in the eighties? But we're in what five like Elliott Elliott with the Lakers. I might add win and lose those. You got to the end The six at the right time In the eighties. One okay. Gherman banker that I think it was eighty three. That was that was the eighty fifth award event and I think it was the year before they got Barclay. If I'm not mistaken I thought it was eighty. Two eighty three the Lakers beat them. Yeah let me. I'm checking right now. Let me make sure. Because I'm Donna. Okay they okay. Eighty.

"Against the Memphis Grizzlies and Jami rant is coming to town and right now. I think he would win the MVP. And He. And I keep saying that because of the year the rookie of the year. I don't think there's any question that he should right. Because he's going to have played an entire season he's going to have played really well during an entire season. He's going to have taken a memphis team that has really no business being the sodas. And they're gonNA. They've got a real shot to make the playoffs. So that's all his resume the Zion Williamson piece of everything. You just said that his one. It's just his physique. The way that he's built is unique the blow out of the shoe the fact that he went to Duke all all of these things that we pay attention to and by the way. Espn TNT and everybody that is selling the NBA is fully in the Zion Williamson Biz. No difference in. There's no difference between him Baker Mayfield or him in him in a Johnny Manziel when he came into the League. When you are the hype machine and you sell in Islam as you producing this. Keep selling the problem with some of those other guys. Is they hype fizzles out because their game fizzles in never really takes off? His game is doing what we said it would do. Yes in so. He's going to get the necessary eyeballs the support but because he came so late. I think John Joh- Jarrah that's right. I keep all Wirawan. Same reason I keep trying to give them the MVP. I guess Moran John Murphy. Morand is so far out is hard to close that ground. You know. It's just hard to make that up real talk though even of Zion started at the same place to me. John Henry aside why his team right now would be a first round opponent against the Lakers. Right now that's fine. Audrey Dallas said. I ain't come that's fine but Zion team would was trashed to in. No no no no no no no no no no no no drew holidays another former also but they were good like that though in he added something to them. He gave him some snack. Cargo pop some smart if he start. How many games have did we watch? Do we see that? He like on national television. That even playing. What was the handful? Pelicans yeah a small he makeup. Those games he plays in those games. Those more eyeballs and voters that see him. It's just he and he comes in with the high end area on top of that when you come in with a high they want Yup to win it. What they say different question than the conversation. We're having which is it's a should not a would this should is. Jamal rant should be rookie of the year and if and if you don't catch them in the postseason for posting their way they're going to win win it or point me and Travis. His point is he's gaining ground but the momentum will not surpass him too far out in front they would have started at the same time he beheaded. I want to go and use a word that I despise. Because it gets overused. So don't use it but I think that it's exactly right for this particular conversation. Narrative narrative is liaison is special. You can't you have to be a little bit of an NBA guy to know who John Moran is. You have to pay because Memphis is not on national television Memphis not you have to be an NBA Fan. You just need to be a sports fan in those ion. You just need to be the guy that drops in on Sportscenter full-time week and check it out and you're going to be Vance lawyer. Zion exactly right there you. My Mom knows WHO's Zion Williamson is okay. Mom knows so so that matters I. It's how we WANNA position these guys I. I'm not no one. I don't think I speak for your second. Only nobody's arguing. That mirant should get it. I'm asking the question will he? And I I think he will because of what we're talking about that. He was so far out in front of the closed that ground. But it's GonNa be closer than I think anybody thinks close they'll make it close because they wanna make you close right because that's that's just you you don't wanting to run away with it because we didn't never. WanNa give it to him to begin with you already. Had the box checked at the beginning of the season prior to injury the award was going to go design which is fine. What would be tragic in my opinion. Is that if we allow a predetermined narrative to rob this young man? But and exactly what happened to Carmelo? Anthony Camaro Anthony was rookie of the year. Lebron James got it because of the hype machine. Usa CARMELO. Anthony come on now real tall. But here's why here's why Lebron James Gets right because the Brian James Is Lebron James Day Right? And then that's his. I potentially could be Lebron James Twenty years. I don't like saying this but I'M GONNA SAY IT. Anyway key was right again about johnny boy johnny boy the Johnny boy. That's coming up next on the morning. Show seven ten. Espn low right. I guess I should have. How long have I worked with you guys now closing in on a couple of years too long already? Maybe we can have dinner soon. We are going to have a lot of tears shed. Yeah I love you so much you great to be out. You have been on the money when it comes to everything that the raiders are going to do you and you said that they're going to do this. Khalil Mack. Gone that they're going to do this. Mark Cooper has gone and then the next guy you said eventually he's going to get to Derek Carr have gotten to the point where it's Derek Carr because there are reports out there that they're not necessarily actively shopping him but they're open to anything in that the rest of the League is interpreting that to mean that. Hey if you want my quarterback make offer. Yes he goes by what we got. Now it's month to month and we've got seven months just around it off Seven months until the raiders opened in Vegas Dirk car their quarterback. They're picking Twelve Dana. They need receive but they don't desperately need one. They need one but they don't need one to the foot the fact that they gotta go out there in draft a high caliber receiver. John has done a good job at drafting receivers. He's done a terrific job at picking up for. It's so weird. He's not a good job. Picking up wide receivers in free agency. Keenan mccardell Gioja vicious. Obviously Jerry. Rice still sort of things. He's done a good job at doing that. But when he picked them. Michael Clayton Michael Clayton. I mean like it's so you look at that you go so. A lot of people got him pegged to pick a a receiver. He hasn't done a good job at doing that with the quarterbacks either but I think based on the distasteful nature the Raider Fan base in which they treated their car and last that last game booing him stuff. It opens up. John's is to be able to say you know what we can roll that out there thinking the same thing. I think it starts all of that. Then the fact that you aren't entertaining listening and there's somebody out there they probably think you know we'll give you three and a four for him in John's probably saying okay but that I can get I can get Teddy Bridgewater in. Here's wacky Teddy Bridgewater. Because we run the west coast system just like shine we pretty much run the same place as nothing's going to change in. I'm willing to throw money at Teddy because all I WANNA do. Dinky duck anyway. I don't WanNa push vertical. I get I. I'm glad you brought up Teddy Bridgewater because I think that's part of the issue that it makes it complicated to move car. I in a really unusual set of circumstances. This is an off season. Where there are a ton of quarterbacks available so if you are in the market for a quarterback and I'm not even putting guys like Tom Brady in there I turn Dak Prescott who are officially may be going to be available. But you're talking fill rivers you've teddy bridgewater and Cam. Newton Cam will be good for us. But I think I could do better with Teddy but Teddy Bridgewater Cam Newton so all of us but the point being. Maybe you don't like him but if there's a bunch of movement Derek cars probably behind all four of those guys right it depending on where he who wants. So what's the market for him? If there are a Bush he'll have a good market and wanna read how good market because people will Not necessarily. I'm looking for the word if it's not a discount what would it be if it doesn't May maybe no discounts the right word. Yeah I guess. People will discount John's feelings about car because they know who John Is. Dismiss dismiss this missing whatever. Dismiss what he thinks about him they already know may already know going in. Oh they were bad like. I was bitten getting a workout because they already know how years stir carpet quarterback. I like if you put the team. We've talked about a minute ago. I would miss you when you put Derek Carr in the Tennessee. Titans are they a better team than with Ryan. Tannehill they are. They are not thinking quiet man. The problem with people like you rhetoric. Ateeqi think car probably can do just a smidge. It more smidge like what I don't know just some stuff. He can do some stuff a little bit more a little bit but is it is it to me is not that much of a significance that I get away from Tanny. He'll to go to car ten already knows it. We know what that is. That's an AFC championship appearance. He is his a car from me. A car from me is the Miami Dolphins That's a car from me from Miami. I'm looking at that because he's young. I don't think he's young enough where he could steal. You could still build around him for the next five or six draft one in Miami just gives you. You really don't know you really. Don't they've been running out guys like fitzpatrick he ain't through so much better than both of them combined? That's what I'm saying though to to go out there. Yeast three years removed from possibly being the MVP of the lead. Derek Carr is not the future of the Miami Dolphins right and I would. I would say these young Odi six years in a league. He's twenty nearly twenty nine twenty nine in next month he'll be but I'm not looking at age versus years but is he the future Miami because what maybe is a bus maybe justin. Herbert is a bus Joe. Boroughs a but I do get it right but Ashley and guy but I can do a lot of things with that fifth pick. I could do a lot of things that fifth pick if I can get my hands on a car for three and a four of four to five or throw away I can. We got a quarterback. He's really good. They've never had a and I.

"The Los Angeles Lakers in the midst of a come back right now against the the Portland trailblazers wanna wait one oh two eight minutes left in the fourth quarter and what is been a another emotional night in the NBA it started with a virtuoso performance from chi re Irving who put up fifty four points on just twenty three shots credited mob mentality after the game pointing to the sky as he walked off the court and of course he was very close with Kobe Bryant you see some of Kobe's influence on Tyrese game and for for all the complaints so may have about Tyree as lebron James just hit a super deep three to pull the Lakers within three curry you know it hasn't exactly elevated to a team in a in a bunch of facets but he has won a championship he has been fearless on the court and he's one of the best scores that to ever play you know and you can't accuse the guy being fake and he's been very authentic since this happened and and just had a tremendous performance and of course it's the kind of thing you would credit as as being done for Colby but that that's dumb some some strange territory to Wade into and I touched on this earlier because there's a level of expectation being put on the Lakers and then I'm not sure is fair or that should be applied in the event like this because you know if you're gonna honor Kobe Bryant I mean of course I re did it I mean you put you under him by eating at the highest level you honor him by being dedicated to your craft like he was you can't control the outcome and to make honoring him about a result just doesn't seem fair in in doesn't seem reasonable to put on the Lakers shoulders lebron shoulders or anybody else's shoulders now but lebron as answered the bell at at every turn of his career and he did so again tonight as he took center court before the Lakers game against the Blazers to address the crowd I mean he's the only guy that we would expect to do that I mean no one else you know was in a position where we were wanting them to do that but it was lebron James who did that tonight here's what lebron had to say before the game against the the Blazers as he addressed the the staples center called me a brother to me and from the time I was in high school to watch him before the given his league at eighteen watching him.

"Toes. It was a good summer workout just final here <hes> clippers lakers. Do you have any concerns about out the clippers on the court that may be have been underplayed this summer well. I think it's <hes> i think it's an an enticing matchup and i alluded to this earlier. What's the crunch time five going to be in. One of the things that was so good for the clippers of the last couple of years was this lou williams mantras herrell screen roll off the bench well if you yeah paul george leonard on the court. I don't know that you're running that a ton in crunch time and so then is lou williams going to be on the floor the spacer and then you then you can go out him defensively offensively. It's herald going to be on the floor as kind of a screen roll guide still but then if you have anthony davis in the bronx you can go to the rim on herald so that that's that's the and then on the other side. If you have george and leonard that's two guys that do about as well as anybody in guarding the brown and then what are they gonna do with davis so it is it is fascinating to for me to see how those teams line up and do i get it the odds of fluctuated some vegas. Who's the favorite. I know it's the clippers now. Especially after cousins got injured. It was the lakers initially how much of that is just money that comes in from los angeles vegas right that whole pipeline so it's it's fascinating but i the secondary playmaker thing is interesting for me for the lakers and what you were saying what about davidson what he's been working on but does anything stand out to you the measurable back to you i think that for mantra zero one of my favorite breakout guys last last year and he was in a complete honeymoon period right because like he'd never really been on the map the clippers are having basically a dream season that not very many people saw coming he was right in the mix for sixth man of the year award and all that like the check comes comes due for him right like he could also put himself into a situation where he makes a ton of money next summer once he gets free agency but he's got a show that he can play you know center against all star level guys in late game situations. I think that they're going to have to use them that way. That's a big question mark. My other issue that i've seen is just is quiet. Who i leonard gonna miss a guy like kyle lowry because kyle lowry led a lot of the offense he was a real playmaker. He didn't have the world's best regular season last year but he did have very big responsibilities to me. Paul george is not good enough as initiator to take on that burden you know i think he's much better. He can be a number one guy but he's not gonna be your number. One kind of like you you know lead a perimeter playmaker lebron katie. I don't think your offense is going to be that great if he's in that role and when you look at players like pat bev lou williams is is creating for himself primarily or maybe a little bit too man game stuff not running an entire often so are they in situations where the offense box down a little bit where they struggle to get ah flow going keeping the ball moving is there more of a burden just on during the regular season than there was last year in toronto from a minute standpoint from a workload workload standpoint from an initiation standpoint and then you know as paul george ready to like kinda hit the ground running once he gets back healthy or is there going to be an ease up period because i think it gets a lot of people just expect last year's paul george to come back and i think that that could wind up being the best year of his career..

"Is well now that that's something that had that it's still needs to develop. I know benji wrote about team u._s._a. Some of the younger players who you're talking bagley for example the longer players a little problem with down there so who's like he gets in trouble when he's in the basket airy and he's going against like lots of wingspan right so it's like jaren jackson junior marvin bagley jared allen honestly like a murderer's row of couse mccullers just randomly settled in that one place and they wound up like none of them got promoted i besides bagley and then he just left so it really did come through and when you look at something's international rosters. I don't know how much he's going to be tested on that front right like as long as he's playing for. My trip is going to be a lot super long fours that he's really going to have to deal with around the basket hid in fiba so it may have been a situation where like his biggest weakness was showing through in a setting like the fiba world cup camp where like on a game to game basis it wouldn't be so glaring yes but at the same time so you mentioned on that and the whole key and this is obvious again open floor globe's no this quite well what happens on the other end then so if that a player has to guard kuzma whose spacing from three can take somebody off the dribble and it's davidson it's ronald one of the perimeter who can get to the rim unless you're going to try to put a shot blocker in there that you can get them back on that side so in other words you people have seen this happen more and more in the n._b._a. Where basically you're trading. Twos for threats to some extent or you're just you're not. You're not not so worried. Hey if you guys want to go if you wanna go to post ops fine you can post up. If you want to try to post up. If you wanna try to post up dudley we can double and then if you miss a bucket on the other end and so that that type of gameplay to me stands out especially with dudley who's a smart bat and kind of figure out how to manipulate those situations the necessarily you're going to be able to find right away on the waiver wire but also the the season has to be viewed as fluid as well and this is something where palanca showed a willingness in this to make moves in the middle of the season who knows if some team ends up having a an excess of a certain position center to me. Ben is the spot where you can find the most guys that are out there because because they've been utilized less a lot of teams. Don't want to have more than one or two so i i don't know it's it's something that i think it will certainly be addressed but i'm i think that the guys is that we're gonna see more of the minutes. In the long run of the season are the coups mas for the most part and then you know. Maybe it's the maybe it's even casey p and you slide up to the three that kind kind of thing. Okay <hes> quick question on quiz before. We get back to dwight howard last year..

"Nothing. On the defensive end long story short i think if i were them and looking to make some of these additional roster moves as the season unfolds i would still be looking for for at least one more back backward defensive piece if i could find one and then of course they have this question at center to which i'm not sure they're going to be able to really address their center depth in an impact making type away after the cousins injury but i guess that my challenge if i was frank vogel and this is sort of my big takeaway point is i'm coming into training camp knowing that i'm basically already on the hot seat. I mean it's a weird situation. It's a lot of tension. I think he probably understands the deal and i would just kind have come out chest puffed out and say anthony davis man. This is on you. I want you to defensive player of the year. I want you to lead this group as much as you possibly can. We're going with with you and hope that that works. I mean betting so betting on if you have been anthony davis in the bronx you're gonna place. That's that's the kind of guys that you should want the betta so every team. That's got a chance to win. The west is going to have to rely on their stars obviously right so in this case anthony davis raise his game level alongside aside lebron sure like who's the best player davis has ever played with healthy cousins jrue holiday holiday so it's like that's lebron is considerably considerably better than anybody that you would've played with so that to me in its own right allows him to go up a level allows them to do more defensively. It allows them to have more open looks on offense so i do expect that he's going to gain a level but i think the whole discussion just we're having generally about the western conference and playing center so when you're playing in late game center it's up really center. Almost all teams are going small now. There's no banging. There's not really many post ups. It's more or less switching you. Screen roll spread the floor pick and pop to some extent even more than pick and roll like that those minutes at center are different from the opening six of the half apple might be banging against your yokich is or your mortgage is when he comes back healthy or the rotation clog is the big bodies like zoo box of the world. You're just buying whiteside and embiid is kind of the exception of a guy that that's going to be in there and crush time but even then he's not posting a ton and you can do a quick double right so i don't i <hes>. Do you expect this whole thing about davidson whether or not he's playing center. I don't see a big issue. I think you start a big next to him in the first quarter in the third quarter and then more often than not when everybody's going small that's when he's your your major advantage like who are the clippers putting on him mantras herald or that's going to be tough. They may have to try to put coli on him and then you're almost wasting kawai. Davis can still get a clean look even against y from the most part so that to me remains in addition of course to lebron like when we're we're really trying to suss out who's going to win a series in the west and what's going to happen to crunch time in trying to remember the devastating devastating player that lebron is in a playoff series. That's to me where they have to get to and that's where i think they can feel confident in what they have but of course there's there's a lot of time in the regular season to prove that cohesion.

"Would you still have lebron the mixer number one <hes> or would you be more likely to say all right some of these other younger guys who are coming up whether it's janas whether it's not in the mix of course maybe even harder steph curry is it their time like is still his league. It's a good question the reason one of the reasons. I think that we connect like your podcast so much of the u._n. Sharper obsessed with the league writ large and so while i'm with the lakers day today that also means i could see every team person and twice and i get to watch the league pass to see the teams that are coming to play them and so in order to properly analyze that you really have to watch all these guys a lot and if you last year the time the brand becomes the brawn. We didn't get see last year right. He didn't play basically now you played some after he came back from injury but he shut it down and in order to preserve the off season play in the playoffs and that's when he literally ramps up around by round. He came back and said okay. It's time to flip the switch and we were all looking around. Did he flip it. When's going to get flipped and it has not been flipped and then the season got away from them right so what you're saying. We never saw peak lebron last. Take two years ago right so take take cleveland when all we were all watching the regular season and that was one of the worst defensive teams in the league you know they were basically just outscoring teams and they weren't they flipped over half after roster and then all of a sudden the playoffs star. Oh there's lebron again. He's still much better than everybody else and if you think about the mileage that he's had he's he's starting to approach not just like the top ten but he started of course the top five and combined regular season and postseason minutes so in other words he's already played more postseason minutes than any player ever over ten thousand rosen and therefore on back to back in january he should not be playing at the same level of defense as a twenty four year old player right that hasn't had that kind of mileage he should be ramping up to the postseason and so that's one factor where i think we're going to get back to that but the biggest motivating factor i think is that word motivation like he's been sitting here. Listening listening to kevin durant the best player in the league now in the playoffs. Why leonard is the best player in the league now not to mention david griffin well then that happened and all this stuff about ronnie and i don't think lebron on really it's a little bit like jordan kobe. These guys that are that great. I don't know that they really need that extra motivation because they're gonna find it somewhere. They're going to create it if you don't provide it. They're going to created but i think it's it's clearly there plus. He's got his wingman now that he wanted anthony davis he's got role players around him that he and anthony davis had some hand according to rob linka in discussing the players that are going to bring in the danny green's and the quin cooks and the jarred these guys that are there to do a specific thing so all of these things to me favor lebron reclaiming that mantle and saying hey hey everybody i am still the best player i know you might you might not have thought it for whatever reason last year but here i am and i just i expected that bounce back to come from him and and i think that it's i don't want to say that it's silly not to expect it but there's so much evidence that lebron is gonna play like this next year and the case against it is harder to make me okay so i'm glad you mentioned the anthony davis part because i think that factors into this discussion because the better anthony rainy davis players like the higher that he finishes on the top one hundred type lists. Don't you think the more credit lebron's going to get like it's sort of what david griffin was saying. We're like <hes> lebron gets all all the credit when things go well all of his teammates and everybody else takes the blame when things don't go well yeah..

"The Los Angeles Lakers had to play most of the second half without LeBron James for Christmas day, but they had more than enough for a one twenty seven to one on one. Route of the warriors in Oakland James already had seventeen points, thirteen rebounds, and five assists. When he strained his left groin after slipping under the warriors basket in the third quarter. Also yesterday, it was Houston versus Oklahoma City seventy midway through the third quarter. Seven thirty. Thanks to ABC. The rockets made it seven wins in their last eight games. As James harden poured in forty-one points in a one thirteen one nine victory over the thunder. Meanwhile, the bucks down the Knicks one nine to ninety five in New York right now, the bucks on the NBA second best record at twenty three and ten just one game behind Toronto. And Boston was able to outlast the seventy Sixers for a one twenty one to one fourteen win in overtime and the pistons will get back on the court tonight at Little Caesars arena as they host Washington. "Today and the Los Angeles Lakers turning to the NBA here for a second. And I said to myself Lakers were sixty in ten here that of course, is it's not because of Luke Walton it's not because of Lonzo ball or Brandon Ingram Vail McGee or or Josh heart or Kyle Kuzma. This is all LeBron, of course. And I love hearing the pundits in the experts here before the season started saying that the Lakers would be under five hundred or wouldn't make the playoffs because while LeBron he's playing on the west now rallied is going to set it. No, no, LeBron is arguably the greatest player who's ever played this game. And certainly the greatest player this generation without question. Any team? Lebron goes to a playoff team. You put him on the Phoenix Suns? They make the playoffs. You put them on the Atlanta Hawks. They make the playoffs. You put him on the Brooklyn nets. They make the playoffs. You name the team. You put them on UCLA and put them in the NBA. They make the playoffs. He is such a force of nature and makes everybody on his team better. And so dominant. And he's two or three steps ahead of everybody. He's a basketball savant, you go to I've been to a lot of Laker games. I've been to a couple this year. Not too many. But I've been to a lot when LeBron came as a visiting player with the Miami Heat McClellan Cavaliers. He gets the ball out in that point. He he's calling out the other teams defense, and he's pointing out to his players where to go to. Here's what we do. Here's what we wanna do. He's a step ahead of the defense and on offense. He's moving players run. You've got nuclear out you come here. You said a screen. He's a coach on the floor. That's why. So great. And I was looking at his numbers so far this season. And something struck me. Twenty eight point four points per game. Seven point, six rebounds, six point six assists off if you around the ball off averaging twenty eight points, eight rebounds, seven assists. He's shooting. An incredible fifty three percent from the floor which says, you know, he's a career fifty plus percent shooter, which is remarkable thirty seven percents of his threes. Which is very good. In seventy one percent of the free throws. And that's that's been his his struggle over the years. But but twenty eight eight and seven with fifty three percent field goal percentage. And I looked at that. And I said I wonder in the modern era who who's had a better season than that for the Lakers. I said, let's look up Kobe's numbers here. And I looked at Kobe's numbers. And if LeBron keeps up this pace here this will be a better regular season than Kobe Bryant ever had in a twenty year career with the Lakers now again pause for a second. We're not talking playoffs. We're not talking championships Gobi with the five tampering sips. Of course. I'm talking regular season. And I'm looking at Kobe's regular seasons here. Two thousand five two thousand six I think that was one of the MVP years thirty five point four points per game. That was his highest scoring season ever. Yeah. The average five rebounds and four and a half assists. So that's far less than the broad is getting rebounds, and assists wise, but he only shot forty five percent from the floor. Lebron shooting fifty three percent from the floor. Kobe was always a low percentage shooter. I think career he's about forty five. Right. And the best he ever did was forty seven percent that was his greatest season ever for shooting percentage. And LeBron beats that every year the project career fifty percent shooter fifty percent, plus two thousand six two thousand seven Kobe average thirty one point six, six rebounds, six assists. Forty six percent from the floor. Outstanding. Of course. Two thousand to two thousand three thirty points a game, seven rebounds, six assists Forty-five percent from the floor. He's had some great seasons. Here, of course, and the five world championships in my opinion. He's number three all time. There's a Lakers. Great. I got magic one Kareem and Kobe third. But this season LeBron is seven right here is better than any regular season. Koby ever had if these numbers hold up the rest of the season, and I don't see any way they couldn't now. I I compare LeBron to magic here. Well, did magic ever have a better regular season on the broad? Okay. Nine hundred eighty three eighty four. Listen to this eighteen points, thirteen assists, seven rebounds. Fifty seven percent field goal percentage. Yeah. Nine hundred eighty one twenty two points, nine rebounds, nine assists. Fifty three percent field goals that is an incredible. Now that one I think is that's better than LeBron season here. Twenty two nine nine with a fifty three percent field goal percentage. How about I think? Magic's greater season one thousand nine hundred eighty two. Nineteen points, ten rebounds tennis, Tennessee's now I'm rounding those up 'cause it was like nine point seven rebounds nine point seven assists, say round those up a triple double that year nineteen ten and ten and he's not fifty four percent from the floor. So yes, I think magic had three seasons better than any year. Kobe had. I would take those seasons. Lebron is doing right now. That's why Magic Johnson's the greatest Lakers player of all time. But then there's one more thing here. Lakers sixteen ten yes. I thought they made a mistake in the off season in and saying this last year, and I've said this to the beat writers in the NBA people we've had on here on the day Smith show. I would have never let Julius Randle get away. Now. I know he he wasn't happy. Here. He wasn't happy with the way he was used by Luke Walton Byron Scott in particular. And I think he had with thinking about leaving and had one foot out the door last year. But. Julius Randle blossomed into a star last year in the second half of the season. Julius Randle average twenty and ten after the all star break when he was inserted into the starting lineup. And I was boy I was on here. Yelling Luke Walton. You gotta start this guy. Even if you wanna go small and start him at center, whatever. He needs to be starting. And look what happened when he finally put him in the starting lineup twenty and ten. Okay. Last year. Well, you know, we love Julius, you know, we'd love to bring him back. He's very good player blossoming into a really good player. But if we give him a big contract and bring it back and give him what he wants. That would eliminate us this summer for bringing in any of the top free agents. Kevin durant? Klay thompson. Kawhi leonard. I understand that. But I said at the time. About the worst sin that you can commit a National Basketball Association is leading a young player. Go who had breaks out into a star player with a different team a guy you let get away and that's happened. A lot throughout the NBA. You'll let a young kid go any blossoms into a star somewhere else, the blazers did it twice Dramane O'neil draws and Petra and we can name other teams who've done that. Let a kid go young Eddie blossom, you don't wanna kid to develop into a star with the different team after you drafted him, and you developed it. That's what's happening with Julius Randle right now. So yes, yes. If you bring back Randall and give them a lot of money, you're not going to be able to bring in one of those big time for years, but but as I was saying last year, and as I say now the Lakers aren't going to sign any of those guys this summer. Kevin durant? Not coming here to LA. Did you see his quotes this week when he was interviewed saying LeBron was toxic and that is difficult to play with LeBron and he's got a fawning media. And the media is a bunch of ball washers. And and and and hangs on every word he says in their fan, boys. Lebron and it's toxic. And it's tough to he's not coming here. Why would why would he leave the Golden State Warriors? They gonna win the championship. Again this year. Everybody panicking about the warriors. They haven't been healthy when they got a full squad and a healthy squad for the playoffs. They're going to win the championship this year. Durant's not coming here. Kawhi Leonard is not coming here. He doesn't wanna play with LeBron. He wants to be his he wants to be the number one guy. He wants to be the man he's gonna stay in Toronto. Or maybe come to the clippers every Klay. Thompson isn't coming here. Randall Randall the last three games he started New Orleans. He's averaged thirty and thirteen and shot sixty one percent from the floor and sixty percents from three point range. He's Arabic some twenty and ten. I would have signed him said the heck with these big time free because they're not coming here. Anyway. Let's get out to our good friend FREDDY in Las Vegas. What's up ready? Freddie. Are you there, sir? How you doing? Hey, man, loved to talk day. Love your love your. Thank you. Totally agree. Totally agree is the reason for the season. That is for sure they. I don't want Klay Thompson. I don't work. Kevin durant? Let them go. Who whatever they want to be with. I think our young core is gonna bell. I think is the next guy to step up. He's stepping up. They once he understands the game. It's not about the talent. It's about understanding the gate once he understands the game cold. The go-to guy man, you know, it doesn't wanna come. We don't watch it. I would look at bogey. Our look at the unit proud see what they wanted to book. Bogies the guy realistically if that achilles is healthy and he plays well this year because he's not going back to Golden State. Here's the guy. I think realistically that would be the Lakers next year. That's what I'm talking about. It doesn't matter about Kuwiat. Why they wanna beat number one? I can get that. I get that wide. But I don't get Durant. Well, was the trash all that extra hoopla? He's talking don't mean nothing. Oh, I mean, don't get me wrong about Kevin Durant. But he jumped on the bandwagon. Like everybody else is doing with Golden State, man and quiet as kept day. I'm sorry is not gonna be as easy everybody thinks it is for Golden State. Remember, they don't have the same bench that they had these labs or years. They have Igwe dolla and livings in. Joe stir that could jump out the gym. But they don't understand the game. That means that Kevin Durant. Klay Thompson and Steph curry both boys are gonna have to play longer minute. They're going to have to play defense a little bit longer now. Okay. Let's see how that stands up already been hurt this year. They get what is with these cats. I don't get it. What is wrong with their conditioning? Everybody get hurt. I don't get it. I it may, Freddie. What do you can't stay? What do you think about my take, Freddie? And I've been saying this for a year. I love Julius Randle the way he played last year. He was twenty and ten after the all star break the last three games. He started. He finally got into the starting lineup in New Orleans. He's averaged thirty and thirteen in and sixty one percent from the floor. I would have resigned him and said the heck with these guys this summer, I would've taken the sort of thing I love Randall's game. And now, Freddie, Freddie, you don't want a young player blossoming into a star with another team. And that's what's happening. They joy, you does the stupid too much. We've got. We got all that stupid nece that we here in the last few years all of its gone. I. To my dying day. I will never understand how your your biggest guy on the floor gives you twenty seven points. One rebound. I will never get over that. I'm so glad we got rid of brook Lopez stupid. They I can't deal with that. And you know, one thing that killed nearby. Lebron? No, I love him to death. But you man is free throw note that. Marquette basketball bay is freak throat. They do three things for you day. They keep you in game. They win you game. And they win your championship. Bras, free throws style is so earthy and nasty looking. I I don't know how he got through all these shooting free throws out. He shows free throw. Hey. Freddie rep against the..

"NFL Sunday, LeBron James with a signature moment for the Los Angeles. Lakers says LeBron company go into Miami and King James, no he wasn't there to work out or take a mid season break like he's done in the past. It was the first time. He actually won a game in Miami. Since leaving the heat franchise in twenty four teen. The Lakers beat the heat one thirteen ninety seven LeBron James scoring fifty one points in this game with that becoming the fifth player in NBA history to score fifty plus points with three different franchises. And this was a moment that you saw LeBron James take over a game. And he still capable of doing that. On any given night. Lebron James is capable of taking the game over but ease this formula. A formula for success for the Los Angeles Lakers. In my opinion. It isn't because based off the wear and tear that LeBron James went through last year. What he's been through his entire career. He can't do this every night. And if he wants to try shirt, but he's gonna burn out. But on select nights, he'll do something. Like this. Fifty one points in this game. This was a heck of an outing. The bron- dominated nineteen of thirty one. Not exactly a fantastic shooting. But still pretty good six of eight from three point range, which was the impressive part. Just like the other night when he had the the forty seven points, and he was what five of six so six of eight from three point range seven of ten from the free throw line had eight rebounds. He dominated the game. Absolutely. But is this a formula for success for the Lakers to rely on the Brun like this like the Cavs did last year? I don't think it is was the Bronco and his fifty one point night. Absolutely..

"But look at the supporting cast man these are so old they're not getting any younger i don't what you're going to get a pretty decent player with the eighth pick in this draft but i think that's that's just outside to me the superstar category and it's definitely outside the immediate superstar category so i think anything can happen with lebron if you had to say you know what do what do i put my money on i would just get complete guessing i guess the los angeles lakers that lebron decides the finish his career in la and try to know the purple and gold i appreciate the analysis ninety number percentage chance he opts out of his contract ninety eight percent chance of the off side of his contract i'd say thirty eight percents and he comes back to cleveland forty that he goes the lakers and then throw whatever the remainder is is wild good answer same question percentage ops out paul george like a ninety eight percent i think he's gonna opt out i don't know if he he's actually a free agent so he doesn't have to opt out i don't he's got an opt in opt out year you may be right i'm not even sure but i i thought i was going to test the market and i would be surprised if he comes back to percent zero.
