"The twins. I mean, it's so anticlimactic. It's lame. I mean, the twins are fine, but like, come on, man, have some respect. Go somewhere where you can win. My God. I don't know. I don't blame him for taking the money. He waited for free agency. And was in, he thought in a great position for free agency, you know, I watched some of that press conference yesterday and Carlos talked about the nice twins uniforms and I got a big smile on his face, but yeah, I don't know. Here's some of that sound from Carlos Correa's press conference. Last year, when I came in, I felt welcome right away from the get go. I felt like I was part of a family. So throughout the whole process, to be able to communicate with you guys, talk to all my teammates, you know, communicate to the whole process, talking to box and almost every day, talking to me, and I know all the guys, definitely like you said, my heart was here. So I'm happy we got this done and I want to thank you guys for that. The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired veteran infielder Miguel Rojas from the Marlins on Wednesday, adding some depth to their infield after the loss of trade Turner and Justin Turner. We're going to be talking with Tim kirkton about that coming up. The Marlins are busy. Not only did they make that raw house trade, but they signed gene Segura two years, $17 million. Apparently they're going to try to claim it their base. Johnny cueto gets a one year $8.5 million deal. For the Red Sox, good news and bad news. We'll go with the good news first. Rafael Devers finalized his $313.5 million contract long-term deal. They've locked in finally on a player. Here's Rafael Devers talking about the deal through his interpreter.

"May be the Octoberfest Los Angeles Dodgers are in town for three. And then Pittsburgh here Washington here Then they play the White Sox for a couple games that may not matter in Chicago, the White Sox and then they go to Pittsburgh for those last three, So we'll see what happens there. Lastly, you C bear cat football. I'm listening to the game. Of course, I think the halftime score was like 7 to 7. And I can tell that Dan was concerned and the second half they blew them out. And then they dropped to one place in the standings, which they did last year to you might recall the bear count football team kept winning, and they kept dropping because they didn't want. They didn't want him in the playoffs. And so it looking just to score itself. It was a blowout. What was that? Like 38 to 7 or something? Uh, maybe 42 to 7. Whatever it was, I was a blowout with the national writers knocked him down a notch. Why? Because they weren't that impressive against an FCS squad. Iowa be a state and Iowa state team that's really good. Oregon went on the road and beat Ohio State in Columbus. When you when you when you have those things happen to you, and you struggle against an FCS opponent, you're going to get jumped. I don't have a problem with that. I will be the Iowa State, a team that was in the top 10, Oregon. Heart beat Ohio State, which hadn't lost at home since I believe 2000 and 17, Oklahoma one. So the teams in front of Cincinnati, perhaps with the exception of Clinton, although Clemson's one loss was to a team that's currently ranks second, Um I don't have a major issue with where they're placed. The reality, though, is this They're going to be judged by how they do in their next two games from a national perspective because I believe they're going to be favored to win every game In the American Athletic Conference, Indiana lost their first game of the season to Iowa. I was ranked in the top five Hoosiers bounce back and played very well. On Saturday night. I subscribe to the belief that Michael Penance junior quarterback is not going to play as poorly against Iowa or against Cincinnati, as he did against Iowa that is going to be a road game against a big, tough opponent that was nationally ranked before the season. Started after that. They're going to go to Notre Dame. The Irish haven't been great. In fact, they felt forced box in the top 25 despite winning on on Saturday, But they needed a touchdown from Covington, Catholics, Michel mayor and the final two minutes to be Toledo. They nearly blew an 18 point lead against Florida State. If the bear cats can go to Bloomington, Indiana, if they can go to South Bend and beat Notre Dame Um, all the credit in the world that should be thrown at this team from national outlets will be thrown at this team. This is a chance if you have long complained about how the bear catch are treated nationally there in the noon window. I believe on ESPN on Saturday and they're going to be playing in South Bend on ABC two weeks from Saturday. Here's their opportunity. And if as a top 10 team they can win those two games, people are going to start talking about them being the legitimate college football playoff contender, But they haven't played a full 60 minutes yet. They took their foot off the gas against Miami in the second half of Game one, Uh, they were sleepwalking. I think, for the most part for the 1st 30 minutes against Murray State. They've got to play a full 30 minutes. The good news is I love the talent on this team, but it looks like a will have his team's ready to play. But, you know, getting back to the Original question. Look at who they look at who they played. Look at who they beat. Look at the way they played and then look at the teams that jumped him in the rankings. I can totally understand why the Barakat fell. One thought FC winds to zip doesn't matter. Got to get matters much for the purposes of getting to the postseason. It was nice. This was probably their best chance, and one might say their last chance to finally win a home game franchise. Will you and I have talked about it. I think in many respects is kind of at a bit of a crossroads right now, in terms of where people are with it, and, you know, look when they were when they burst on the scene in 2016. Much of the conversation about that franchise was not what was happening on the field, but interest attendance where they are in the marketplace. Well, we still have to have those conversations, the marketplace has shifted. The Cincinnati Bengals appear to be on the come. Cincinnati Reds are not losing 95 games every single year. You see football's a bona fide, uh, entity, which in 2016 whenever the Cincinnati debuted, Tommy Tuberville was crashing it into a mountain. Farm. It's a new stadium. I know they're not raising ticket prices for season ticket holders next year, but the buzz that sort of envelope this town when that franchise first burst onto the scene has gone away almost entirely. And the only way they're going to regenerate. It is to win, winning and winning consistently, and I don't know how they do that with the way they're being run right now, because the track record of the people who run FC Cincinnati in Major League Soccer is not good by winning their game the other night we gotta run, but you had a chance to sign Messi. And maybe Ronaldo, and they didn't get it done. But no, we got to go and we'll talk later as events unfold. Thank you for coming on the on the Bill Cunningham show. Thank you. One more home Stand, Willy. Well, I will be there. Tell you wrong? Yes, I will. You want to back me up? You're going to be like all of your politics. Buddies that make these empty promises. "I'm your host, Thomas Karen onte Adam weinrib is still on vacation. He'll be back next Monday. And we got some Yankee stuff to talk about, guys. I wouldn't call it a loser Monday podcast, like we usually have done so many times this season. The Yankees didn't entirely bring it home. They captured the first two games of the series in Oakland, which were pretty exhilarating, got them up to 13th street victories. And then dropped the last two. What are you going to do? We got people complaining about it. We're probably going to yell at those people for complaining because let's look at the reality of the situation. The anchors are 21 and 6 in the month of August. If you're mad about them not catching the Tampa Bay Rays, I truly don't know what to tell you. The razor one of the three best teams in baseball, the only two teams better than them are the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants to perennial contenders in the national league. Two of the deepest rosters in all of baseball. So I mean, I don't know what you want. Blame the Orioles if anything, the rays are 18 and one against the Orioles this year, which is just unfathomable and the Orioles shouldn't even be in Major League Baseball at this point. But anyway, guys, this is the yanks goyard podcast once again, you already know that, but head on over to Google podcast. Apple podcasts Spotify wherever you get your podcasts, drop us a 5 star review. Give us a mailbag question. Give us something else to talk about because we're just going on Yankees Twitter. We're seeing what the ridiculous shit that these people are saying. And now we have to call it out, 'cause we can't enjoy winning 13 of our last 15. We really got to complain about it. Anyway, maybe those people would be better suited to just indulge in some self care, you know? Stop worrying about the Yankees. Shave your pubes. Let's talk about manscaped. That's how we're rolling on this show when you came on the last time you just got in your haircut by your strength and conditioning coach. John lott. I told you that was your rookie mistake. And that's the only working mistake you're allowed to make and you'll be cool. I gotta tell you. I got to tell you. I'm looking at the photograph of you with your trophy. The offensive rookie of the year trophy. I must admit it's going in pretty. Well it's not too. I appreciate that and obviously there's a couple couple of weeks with really short hair but the best part about is that it'll grow back the long we'll come back so i'm looking forward to that. Is the plan that is in the plan that the the long hair is coming back. Yeah that is the plan okay. 'cause we're right now i mean i i gotta tell you the does already have the flow. It sits nicely. I don't know if I should send an apology to john. Lott you know. I texted him in. He kind of gave me grief for same. What i said maybe i should send them here in los angeles that can that can be a very lucrative career here in los angeles. No it's all good. He understands it and and it was funny because we did it in the weight room. And so i thought that was perfect for strengthening conditioning. Costa cut it in the late room. It was funny and thought we had to switch things up so it worked out okay. Hey justin i asked her coach because nfl networks moving into your building You know if. We've talked about me being single in dates. Okay anybody wants to take me on a day. Your girls open. No i'm just kidding. But shot to drake because he did something crazy which. I mean if somebody wants to do that for me. I'm not mad at it. He was having a date on the field at dodger stadium. What do you mean on the field on the field by third base setup. Okay check it out. Euphemism no okay. He's a he was on third base. I was just like by third. Yeah dodger stadium. He is bold okay but it was. It was a cute little setup. i saw the pictures. He had a bunch of basis he just had a bunch of. I don't know man like i. I saw this setup. And i was like. Why can't i do this for me. I mean he probably will get the money for that but you know it could be at a park okay. You got a little table with like a little flower. You don't got to do the extra basis and stuff but anyways a lot of people were kind of criticizing that. But i loved it. I wouldn't drake you calls down. The money was used went to charity. Yes that is what the story reports. Well you know listen man. I don't know how respond if i was a ball of light drake. So i'm not gonna say i wouldn't floss doing something crazy like that but since i'm not a ball i came like a hate me. Angels stadium one game going on. There's nobody there so you know. Beautiful food flowers. Champagne the whole deal. I got a bar and a bartender right over my shoulder over here. And i'm going to have a date in a ballpark. Just me you and that bartender continuing to serve drinks. I suppose if i had it and i could pull it off is pretty damn impressive. But because i can't and i don't think it's see it's just. Your nationality nerve came from from the bottom. You started from the top. You're actually above us. Yeah he was on. What was that degrassi. So he was always at the top. I mean he's a child. "The 16th Day of June 2021. My name is Tom Sullivan. So, yeah, the the guy last week who, uh, You know what? He must have gotten drunk and came home and had to come up with a story for the spouse or something. Remember? Remember the lobster fisherman who said that he was Whale got him. And that he woke up and he found himself. He felt a big thumper. He found himself in the in the mouth of a whale and the and the whale was was Shaking his head and back and forth and finally spit him out. I don't think that's true. I think he needed a story and he came up with the best one. He could. He got home and the wife said, Why are you coming home? You're all dis shoveled. You're you're drunk. Everything Oh, man. You can't believe it. I was in the mouth of a whale. Yeah, I had to go and have a drink afterwards. I've never been in the mouth of a Weber. Well, so I I called that one is. I don't believe a word of it. So now we got this lady. They're putting together the You know the finals are coming in on all the various sports that are for the athletes going to the Olympics. Next month in Tokyo. If they have it, which is another whole show. Why are they having The Olympics in Tokyo, one only 3% of the people of Tokyo had been vaccinated. They got a huge covid problem. So they're going to have the games. Apparently, without any audience, you know, kind of like what we Well. We did that last year. They had. They only finally resurrected the baseball season last year, they finally got Uh, empty stadiums. And then they had a bunch of teams getting covid and all that it was it was it was. I'm surprised they were able to pull it off. And speaking of stadiums. I was mentioned earlier. Maybe you're just tuning in now that, uh Dodger Stadium last night, the Los Angeles Dodgers. Packed the stadium last night 52,000 people watching baseball in Los Angeles. Which is an accomplishment all in itself because As much as L. A has a lot of sports teams are not very sports oriented town they just or not. But they had their fault because yesterday California opened up. All the restrictions are gone. I I guess. Um at New York yesterday opened up because of the fact that New York state 70% of the people in New York state are vaccinated. So, governor, Cuomo said. That's it. Great. You hit you hit the magic number. All restrictions are gone. So covid restrictions in California and New York on the same day gone. Eliminated like throwing the switch so back to Tokyo. They are trying to figure out because the games were supposed to be last summer. And nobody thought that was a good idea. Now they're going to have them. I think in the third week of July, so we're about a month away. And they got a problem in Japan. They have a huge covid problem they don't have but a small percentage that have been vaccinated. I guess if you're an athlete, you've been training for years for now five because they were supposed to have it last year, and they did not and the Olympics or every four years normally. So five years and and, you know, especially if you start off at 25. Well, now you're 31. You're getting to be an old person. Well, one of those is this woman who runs track. And she apparently has all kinds of ribbons and awards and trophies for her abilities as as a track star. So now they have come up and they said I'm sorry. Her name Shelby Hoolahan. And they said Shelby You have tested positive So therefore You are eliminated. You cannot go represent the United States in the Tokyo Olympics and also you're banned from all US crack events for the next four years. So this is Shelby Hoolahan. Defending How she tested positive. Yeah, I mean, as of right now, I'm banned for four years. We're trying to seek every option that we can to appeal this. Um, It's not right. I don't Think I should be serving a four year ban for something that I didn't do on the word trying to exhaust every option that we can. Shelby was this your first offense? Yes. I've never had a positive test. I never even missed a drug test before. How do you get this from a burrito. Um From what I've been told. Manjula is high is Hi. Sorry. Pig Offal has high concentrations of Angelo on this food truck that I happened to go to that night. I've been there a lot before. Um And this food truck search pig offal as part of their menu. Um and I happen to, I think, Ingest this, um, hormone and 10 hours later, at the peak of when it's supposed to be in your body. When you're digesting it. I happen to get tested and Honestly, it's just Very unlucky series of events. Um, Yeah, I kind of blown away by what happened and I can't believe that I'm going through this as a as a queen athlete. Yeah, I'm kind of blown away to buy your excuse that. Yeah, it was, uh, burrito and, um So if if, if it was you have this this burrito and it right at the peak. Of when you're digesting in. Then you take the test at the same time. Why don't you go back and have another test? So this is years of trainee. She is apparently a very big favorite in the track and field. Arena. And she said this pork burrito is to blame. I'm telling you, you better eat your your burritos at a kosher restaurant. That's all I can recommend. So.

Of course, they're talking about the fact 7 15. Beat Babe Ruth's record of 7 14. And Barry Bonds has gone on to do exceed that number. But there's people that still say. The real home run. King is still Hank Aaron. They is a bit though every single one that I have seen talks about Hank Aaron, home run King. And, um His efforts regarding racism. And I never thought of or knew that he was, um, active in civil rights. I mean, I hear civil right? There's a lot of names that I think of Before I think of Hank Aaron. I think of Hank Aaron is the great baseball player, but apparently he was very much involved in civil rights back in his day. So he went on. Um Hit 755 homers. L. That record for more than 30 years. And most of his time, in fact, He was, um Traded only once. That was to, um Milwaukee and he was so pleased. He called Milwaukee his home, even though he wasn't born there, But he spent most of his career in Milwaukee and then the last couple of years he spent back in Atlanta. And that's where everybody looks at. They think of Hank Aaron. They think of the Atlanta Braves. But that was he obviously expressed his his love for Milwaukee. He grew up in Alabama, and it was during big time. Jim Crow. Hey, he Yes, He got a lot of abuse from the stands. I mean, I think about civil rights and baseball players. I think it Jackie Robinson. But That was in the beginning when he was a minor leaguer. So then he started becoming the big star and people started treating him differently. And they were not as hostile to him as he chased down the Babe Ruth record. So It's zbig loss. I mean, it Z. They take Hank Aaron and then a couple of days ago, Tommy Lasorda.
