"Right, house here. You're on the clock. Yeah, so I think this one might straddle the line between probable and improbable, but I'd just like to congratulate the Los Angeles Clippers for ruining the NBA regular season. Because no team is more responsible for shining a giant spotlight on how little, many players, many organizations, care, for the regular season, for the fans. They will take perhaps an outsized hit and I'm giving it to them myself by virtue of the way that they've staggered Paul George and Kauai Leonard's minutes all the way up to this moment, but every instance since the beginning of the season when they were playing that stagger that guys sit out for reasons that are not obvious, it goes back to to me that the clippers and they are paying the price for it. This is a team that is barely 500, a little bit above 500. That was supposed to be a contender to win the Western Conference, a potential NBA finalist. They just brought on wessel Russell Westbrook. He single handedly sabotaged a game in which they were up by 14 points with four minutes left in the fourth quarter. He was the missing piece. Yeah, yeah. And trying to experiment with pieces at this stage of the season because you're barely above 500 because you rested your most important players for most of the season. I admittedly like small smaller sample sizes but like i sort of think of it as like the turning point in the season for them and all that is to say that like. I don't have a ton of faith in search of guys like this terrific defensive presence because of what the number seven he was on the court last year like he's not the best one protector. I think his offensive impact was rate. Like i do genuinely believe that. The space he provided you know on those drives to the rim for kawhi leonard in george. Driving offense was so much more effective because serge was able to pull a defender within the obviously big part of it defensively. I just think he's past his swing days. You know you theory tells there since like the the first full year yet is a raptor. I think it's gone. They they still keep talking about him as like a trump card in these small lineups. And i guess because we haven't seen it yet may be could still happen. But i'm not holding my breath for it. But i do think like as a you know a traditional defensive by is pretty good for a backup you don't think he's a high quality defensive center amongst starters which i do believe that zoo batches but i really think that surges value comes from his offense and Whether like you want center that's offensive and defensive on. This team is interesting question. But there's there's a lot that he provides there and if he can just be like pass on benson. That's a really good player for your backup five. Exactly i think you bring up lottery. Points lake I think there's i don't wanna say there's like this idea that surges still. Let's player but it's been interesting to watch like how he's really ascended to being a a pretty quality offensive player while his defense is definitely taken a hit. Because i mean what he did defensive so based on being i mean. He's great at timing things but a lot of that was is one of the best. Vertical athletes have probably ever seen That just you know again. That doesn't stay as you get older but I agree like what he did. Offensively is what. I'm really interested to see him. Hopefully get back to us. You're like maybe even with the better shooting season so that was down from last year. Like just having that ability to go from having zoo out there you know primarily more than the dunker spider being used screener that having the ability to do some picking pops up with serge was like a huge part of the offense that i felt. I really miss down the stretch So let's go really quick to zoo because where you at was right now. Because the discourse around him in the playoffs was like insane to me. I didn't think his playoffs were amazing. By any stretch but i also felt like a lot of this comes down to people not understanding drop drop coverage a lot of time and also like Just in general like a lot of times zoo was asked to switch out or play really close level and you did struggle with that in the playoffs melodic. When he was asked to do things that i think he's actually capable of doing like he was good like i just so where. Where are you looking. where where did you come away from from the playoffs with him. So instead of taking prospects or projects they took to bona fide 10 year starters. Even if these guys are only average players. We know we can build around them, and, frankly, they both become above average players. You start adding in pieces like Jay Crawford, adding in pieces like Tory, Craig and Oh, yeah, Chris Paul, maybe the greatest point guard in the history of basketball. That's a short list. Him. Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas. Somebody mentioned John Stockton the other day. You can put him in there, too. But it started in my mind when the guy who was in charge, said Yo, we're going to reverse course and my bad We're going to tighten this thing up, and that's what's happened.
