"Problems that folks in this industry have, especially when it comes to the off the court problems, if you were, whether it's not following protocols or having issues with alcohol or drug related things. But it sounds like a Sheen Murphy who was so, so talented. Is doing what needs to be done and whether it was purely his decision or he was kind of urged to do it. The fact that it's being done is great and I've never met mister Murphy. I've been a fan of his and obviously he's very talented. I hope he gets the help that he's looking for and comes back and rides as good as ever when he's ready to return. Yeah, definitely a young and up and coming talent. We have a course I work with colley Oman Kelly Raleigh, does an international work for president and for twins fires. And she's a big fan of his. She was talking about him coming into the breeders cup. He had four mounts and he had his first British cup win this year on March Lorraine at 50 to one 49 to one in the breeders cup distaff, a huge upset in there. And naturally, Bobby, I bet I used to, I think I used his. I bet his horse in the juvenile Philly's turf and used another one in a turf race that he was on. But I wasn't playing a DOM on March 4 range. No, I didn't have in fact kind of wishing that he was not as talented as he was and not giving me because I need a Dunbar road. Well, the funny thing is, I loved malat in that race, but one of the only ones that I used on top of mala that was Dunbar road. So although it wouldn't have been a Grand Slam for me, if it's done by road, it would have been a strong three run home run. Let's put it that way. But Marshall Lorraine on top of both of them is called moving on to the next race. Yeah. Throwing away all my multi race tickets. And sitting there and looking back and thinking, you got to be kidding me. Not please not this horse. Sometimes our people talk about that sometimes you get a day and it's going to go on pretty good and then all of a sudden you get bad results and everything comes crashing into well I mean, it's fine. You can not pick winners and still cash tickets or at least be alive going forward. But when Mars Lorraine wins, at least in my case, I'm sure there are folks out there who are very happy that Marshall Lorraine won. But in my case, when Marshall Lorraine wins, it blows out every wager I have going, because that was not a race where I hit the all button. I will hit the all button every now and then, if I really don't have opinions in the race, I did have an opinion in that race and martial arts originally was not part of the opinion. And that's the kind of race where I don't like, I mean, to me, you know, that race had a big favorite lotus. So I was against her and I was looking to spread against her and went several deep including mouth with that and others. But you know, I wasn't going to hit the all button there. And definitely wasn't going to use the one that one takeaway from March Lorraine and her success is that I know just for my handicap perspective is perhaps that will provide more easier to access these Japanese horses races overseas and just like because you know it was hard to get any information on her. I thought coming into the breeder's cup. Yeah, you're right. It was and she was certainly very good and back to Sheen Murphy. He's obviously very talented, wishing nothing but the best for him going forward. We're going to take another break. When we come back, we will look back at the Los alamitos futurity, which took place this last weekend and talk a little bit about the 2022.

"One neighborhood. And I'm on as well, wondering who's going to pick up the mount John Velasquez does not have a mountain that race. He has the same agent as Joel Rosario. Maybe it'll be him. Tyler gaffe Leon is in New York tomorrow. He, of course, rides horses for Chad Brown, maybe he'll pick up the mount so there are other very capable riders in the room. I agree. I think xan is the horse to beat. Chad Brown has come out and print and basically said that this horse he thought was a router all along. I think he would just thought it was kind of icing on the cake that he was able to win in his debut going 6 furlongs, somewhat unexpected. He expects him to be better going long. I expect him to be better going long. If he's as good long as he was short, I think he's going to win. And if you got 5 to two, I think that's a fair price. I think number one modon ago and number two, it's spelled who that's me, but I'm wondering if it's supposed to be woohoo, that's me. They both have shots in this race and I would use them in exotics as well. But like you, Dave, I'm going to go to number 7 xand in second choice on the morning line 5 to two in the grade two ramps in race 8 tomorrow at aqueduct. 9th race on the aqueduct card is the grade two quarter $1 million demoiselle, the two year old Philly is going to try a mile in an 8 on the main track. And we've got a field of 8, including the second and third place finishers from this year's tempted stakes, magic circle and nest. And those are really the only two I like in here. Maybe Kristoff Clements tap the faith has a chance one a maiden race last time out. But I thought that that tempted was pretty good. And it was magic circle who finished second and nest who was third. And I think they're both going to run well in this spot. I just feel like nest for Todd pletcher and and Todd has won this race 6 times, including with last year. This horse wants longer is going to get longer and I expect to run really, really well. I think she's a good one and I think nest is probably a likely winner. Okay, I'm gonna go the other way. Magic circle finished in front of nest last time out. I see no reason that you can't do that once again. She's gonna be a better price than nest, so I'm gonna try magic circle as my key 7 to two on the morning line. I'm not so ridiculous that I wouldn't use nest in this spot. She obviously is very dangerous. Other one I'm going to use in here is a bit of a screwball. Number 8 full count Felicia for Chad summers and Tyler gaffe Leone. She has raised three times in New York all on the turf, and her last two starts were very, very good. Speed figure wise, if she can duplicate her turf efforts trying the main track, she actually has a little shot in this race, and she is somehow 30 to one on the morning line. I'm kind of playing the odds here. If she was listed at somewhere around three to one on the morning line, I'd be betting against at 30 to one on the morning line. Boy, you don't have to bet a whole lot to make a good money if you're right with her. So I'm going to use full count Felicia as well. But number 7 magic circle on top for me, nest on top for Dave in the grade three debt or rather great two demoiselles race 9 tomorrow at aqueduct. We're going to take a break when we come back. We will close out the aqueduct card with the featured race, the grade one cigar mile and go north of the border for a couple of good stakes at woodbine. It's the only thing that really matters, and that's all I'm gonna say. A man is accused of entering Governor Charlie Baker's house through an unlocked door. Last week, he left behind an envelope containing a manifesto in some photos. Police say people notice the guy but he acted like he was supposed to be there, and he told them that they should not worry about it because the governor told him to drop the stuff off police activity on the 605. Four of the five livin the residents, So they went out. They socialized unsafely and brought it back into the dorms. Now there's a lock down no in person classes. Gonna have to have their meals delivered to their rooms. And if they screw around again, disciplinary action, what kind of college do kick you out, right? That's really all they could do. That's what I was going to say. This just sounds like your mom going shaking her finger at you going. You better come home, and maybe they can expel they can expel you and kick you out of the residents. But I'm saying Tell me what it is. Don't just say you're gonna face disciplinary action, Little Missy. All right. In Los Alamitos High school teachers there have put off voting to go on strike. Apparently, they didn't have to show up to campus until Tuesday. That was the big day and they were saying that they might actually strike But they had a zoom college type thing on yesterday, and they voted to put their strike off for at least 10 days. They said that one teacher says that it sounds like the administration has started listening to what the teachers need, he said. The only problem is they decided to do it at the last minute when this could have been done a month ago. So I just, um I mean, they're asking for AA lot, although is that a lot? Or is that what these schools need to keep them and the teachers and the kids safe? I don't know. I think it's a tension between a lot of these things are the things you would absolutely expect. If you are returning to the classroom, you wouldn't want to be a pandemic. You know these air not like outrageous request. However, the other side of it legitimately is it's not like they're rolling in money. To implement a lot of these things, so that's really the problem that we have. All right, let's take a break. "And having been through this for me Like the past six months, my friends and I, we've been able to adapt through like Facetime, each other meeting up having kind of socially distant pick nits. Um and ofcourse I see some of my friends through my sport rowing. So even though at first it was really hard to kind of be Tio. Maybe not seeing everyone as much as I would have. I feel like now I've learned to kind of adapt. You know, And so you're you also help counsel younger students. And what are you saying to the incoming freshmen? Long. Yeah, we're definitely still home, trying to figure out what to say to them. Ah, trying to assure them that this, of course, is the normal and things will go back to normal eventually. And just kind of stay strong during these times because Really confusing for everyone, and I know for them. It may be harder going to a new high school. But of course not getting that first day of school experience, and you have to do it through you. You were definitely trying encouraged them to stay positive. You're out all this and have a strong start to high school. I mean, do you feel that this is all worth it? There are a lot of people who think you know it's better to be back in school for a whole bunch of reasons. And yes, the virus is a problem. But the bigger problem is missing out on a possibly a whole year of school. How do you two manage that? Balance those two competing needs to stay safe, but also to To be in school, which is really important for you. Brooke. I think there's definitely ways to manage both and take the precautions that we need. Um To stay safe. But I also think that school is not just a learning place, but not academically only, but also with the social aspect, and I think a big part of it is How we communicate with other people and drive ourselves toe better ourselves. So I think scores an important place to be in China for me. Just doing school online is very different and I feel Maybe a little less motivated than I normally would be at school. I did, but it's very hard, of course not being with my peers at school, and at times I know last semester, it was hard to stay motivated when you're just kind of maybe in your room in your house, doing your schoolwork on your own, but I also know right now. Almost everyone knows someone who's been effective by Cove. It so I know By me doing school online. It's kind of, um, hoping decreases spread of it with what we want. So I feel like that's my main goal right now. Because if we all go back kind of In person, then Things won't be normal for a while. So I'm hoping my us, um kind of getting rid of our school year in a way that it's hoping things improve faster. Well, Best of luck to both of you. As you start your new school years and Look your final year and good luck with your college applications and everything. I hope it. It works out for both of you. It'll take some time, but it will Will be a slow progress to it. But We'll get there. You will heal both get there. "Stay tuned to K C. R W news. I'm Laxmi, saying it has been a harrowing week for California, another state that has set single day records in new Corona virus cases. NPR's Stephanie O'Neil has the numbers. Over the last week. California's been averaging more than 7600 new infections per day testing his up, of course, but the percentage of positive cases is also up. Those 8%. The state also had a record single day death toll reported this week. Hospitalizations, air climbing and some areas are nearing or exceeding. Ooh capability. Miser it Cruz says lives hang in the balance if campuses re open While the pandemic is raising the Union board issue, the recommendation for schools to stay closed and today will begin pulling its members to gauge where they stand. The board cited a lack of state and federal funding for increased health and safety measures and what it called the lack of time for the district put together the rigorous plans needed for a safe return to campus. Los Angeles Unified Superintendent Austin Buechner said this week that no final decision had been made about reopening schools when the new term starts next month. But he says a full return to the classroom is highly unlikely. The state of California's filed the latest in a quick flurry of lawsuits seeking to block a new federal rule the bars international college students from staying in the U. S if they take all of their classes online. Lawsuit, filed Thursday is backed by the Cal State University system in California Community College. It says the new federal policy unfairly harm students and the campuses would suffer financially from the lost revenue. The state action follows legal moves by the University of California and USC KCR W's Darryl SATs MAN reports. Since the directive came down from the Trump administration this week, California universities have been scrambling to provide international students with options for in person study. Now with the University of California says it's seeking a restraining order and a permanent injunction to prevent immigration and customs enforcement from carrying out the new mandate you see and rolls more than 40,000 international students across its 10 campuses. USC, meanwhile, says it's supporting a lawsuit against the federal government filed by Harvard and Mighty to overturn the order. This is morning edition from NPR News. I'm Rachel Martin in Washington, D C. I'm David Greene in Los Angeles. Good morning. For a long time. There have been calls for certain pro sports teams to change names that many of you is racist change has been slow to come by. But there is now a renewed debate. Frank Morris with member station reports on what makes this moment different. Lots of Native Americans loathed the name of Washington's NFL team. The Redskins. Yeah, it's a dictionary defined racial slur Stop. Crystal Echo Hawk who heads the advocacy group Illuminated says a 30 year stalemate with a team suddenly broke when Washington's corporate sponsors demanded a new name, and the team agreed to consider it. What changed was the murder of George boy, and it changed everything in this country that includes customer preferences. Just this week, WalMart and Amazon joined others and stopped selling the team's merchandise. Mike Lewis and marketing professor at Emory University, says the Washington team name now has become more of a burden than a benefit. And he says it's just the beginning. The Indians second The chief's probably third. The brave and the Blackhawks. Don't take a lot of heat for whatever reason. But at this point, I think all sorts of team names are now in play. The Cleveland Indians have launched a formal name review that least primarily the Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Braves and the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team. The three teams all claimed to venerate native Americans. Crystal Echo Hawks is the name's Braves. Blackhawks and Chiefs alone are not racial slurs, but they do carry heavy baggage. But the imagery that gets associated with those names. It's the racist fan behavior when a fan paint their face red That is boxing. Blackface is wrong. We I think most people in this country get that Now. Then there's the Tomahawk chop or fans cleave the air while belting out a cartoonish war chant. It's a stable at Chiefs and Braves games, and many find it offensive. Well, a number of universities and high schools have dropped Native American names in recent years. Pro teams haven't For one thing. Those names brands if you will are very lucrative Job Burrito is a veteran sports marketing consultant who lectures at Columbia University says changing sports names is complex. But now it's smart. I think going forward if you will,.
