With discussion about the debates and after know about two minutes of discussion we decided yes. We do accept. We will never be boring as so. We're going to talk about the debates. The debates debates. okay. I did not watch language debates so i can't really respond to those but noren. There were more french-language debates and there were english debates. Yeah yes yeah i think. Let's let's step back. Why are we even mentioning these things. Because they were they were the useless and no one was actually changing their vote based on what was said on on the stage. I mean i don't know if that no that's definitely true. Well we the thing that we find. The most interesting about the debates goes to who controls the debate so who controls the debates. It's something called the debates commission leaders debates commission. This is where the official debates of the elections are controlled. There could be other debates that are organized by media outlets or organizations but this these are the debates that are official and with a snap election. Like this one. I don't know how many more debates they're actually going to to be so. This becomes more important. These official debates. And you know we're we're taking a look like who's who's running in the debates this year. Who is on the debates commission and we noticed name a name. That is very familiar to nora loretto. And i won't make a joke about you..

Borneo which forms part of is arguably the most biodiverse corner of the planet is the third largest tropical rainforest in the world and so its value in terms of natural. Heritage is unparalleled. That's clear route castle brown. She's a longtime investigative journalist and the founder of sarawak report an online news outlet as well as radio free sarawak an independent radio station and really until the late seventies it had been. I am large preserved as absolute gem of our natural world full of inflammation scientific value and staggering beauty and excitement. A wonderful place to go to clear route castle brown was born in sarawak when it was still a british colony and she spent the first eight years for life there. I remember being up trees quite a lot of my time. That went many other entertainments in that part of the world. It was really beautiful. Beautiful natural place to be brought up. And i i also remember vividly departing. Actually from srour can flying out of the country down the coastline looking out. The plane window at the most glorious canopy from above after leaving malaysia. Claire grew up in the united kingdom. She spent her career working as an investigative reporter and in two thousand. Six shoes invited to attend a conference in sarawak so after nearly forty years she returned to the place of birth. I looked down on just a an unlimited expense of oil palm plantation a'monoculture just utter destruction. That was a horrific contrast for me. She'd closely followed the environmental devastation that had been wrought on the rainforest but seeing it up close with something different the consequences of that on the indigenous peoples who lived there was devastating. So this wasn't just an environmental tragedy. It was a human tragedy of untold proportions. Everything was being wiped out on though some communities were were starving as a result of having that jungle from under them that rivers polluted no longer providing them with the fish that they had lived from animals species being wiped out. It really was the most deporting situation when she took her trip to malaysia. Clear was moving into freelancing so she decided to focus on the crisis in sarawak. Well look the reason i started talking about. It was because i knew the local serology journalists. Couldn't i mean quite a number of them at call. It me while i was there originally and said you know this is the situation. We can't write about it within a few years. Claire was operating a news website in a radio station. Both focused on sarawak. The backlash was swift in severe. That was very rapidly. Banished from srour for covering some of the blockades by the natives desperately sadly trying to prevent loggers coming into their remaining hunting lands and native lands and so forth. So i'd be immediate. Became an enemy of the state. The chief minister abdul tie muck mood singled her out and publicly denounced her. He stood up in the parliament building that his own company of course have been commissioned expensively to build and denounce me as an enemy of the status rollock someone who is a danger to the country accused me of having some nefarious agenda abdul tied mc mood help power in sarawak for an extraordinary thirty five year stretch after type mahmoud likes to present himself as a very clever fellow. There's nothing that flat is a better them the sycophantic description of the the ceo of surrou- walk. You know he's not just a politician brilliant businessman. He loves so that. I have a slightly less than armored opinion of him throughout his many years. As chief minister of sarawak abdul time mood became well known for his lavish tastes. Type had fabulous grounds that he lived in he swanned round jets. He had fleets. He was famous for its fleet. Sa- rolls royces that he kept in his basement garage in and he had jewelry dripping off all is the women in his family so walked around draped in outrageous ostentatious. Garish jury to really understand this man. I need to give you a quick history. Lesson dole tie mahmoud was born in nineteen thirty six at a time when sarawak was an independent kingdom ruled by a european family who purchased the land from the sultan of brunei over a hundred years before japan invaded during world war. Two in order to get access to the states. Valuable oil fields in after the japanese empire was defeated. Sarawak became a british protectorate while sarawak was still under british rule. A young adult. Hi buck mood. Went to australia. To pursue. his education eventually got a law degree from adelaide university and having achieved that and actually having met his wife of the time at adelaide university he and his wife returned to surat what unto me gently went into politics. He returned in nineteen sixty two a year before sarawak would joined the malaysian federation abdul types. Uncle was an mp in malaysia. First parliament and quickly became a cabinet minister and young abdul type benefited greatly from his uncle's position by nineteen sixty three. He himself was a cabinet minister in sarawak but it needs to be born in mind that he has always been a salaryman a salaryman of the state so we know how much his salary was. It was always a modest salary. In the thousand nine hundred seventies political crisis propelled his uncle to become the chief minister. Sarawak with the help of his allies in the federal malaysian government in exchange. Claire says the types uncle made an agreement say he did a deal whereby the central government was given the rights to all the wealth of ceramics oilfields and dimmer ton. The central government basically allowed to nyarko and then his nephew to all use the word pitch. Because that's what they did. They had free rein to run an prophet from the remaining natural. Resources of psoriatic nineteen eighty-one abdul time muck mood succeeded. His uncle as chief minister of sarawak and he quickly began to take control over as many levers of power as he could. Malaysia has a term. That's used that. I've taken me a while to fully understand the significance of the term. But it's it's money politics and you know are enormous natural wealth and resources and you know that that is distributed. By the likes of time to ensure that he could buy elections. He could buy political support. Anti could basically steamroller. Anyone who didn't have access to that wells you know. They just impossible to stand up to the power of that wealth when it came to controlling the state so tie basically did what he light. He placed himself in every decision making position that was significant in the state. He made himself chief minister. He was planning an environment minister finance minister or rolled into one. Thai promised. The people sarawak that he would bring development and wealth to the state mou tango rude remembers at the message spoke to him as a young man and so when type gum in we were you know i was. I was attacked the him because you was In a way to bring different lending benalla sarawak became one of malaysia's wealthiest states by gdp that wealth with highly unevenly distributed in. Taib's rule quickly began to have devastating consequences for sarawak's indigenous people. His government created a land custody and development board which was used confiscate the customary land of the state's indigenous tribes. He was of course the chairman of that authority and he then parceled out those loans. To whomsoever he pleased abdul tie muck mood was also the head of the land and surveys commission which controlled the timber and palm plantation. Licenses and thaib through his political party was able to deliver seats in federal elections to the coalition that has ruled malaysia almost uninterrupted since independence so he became an important powerbroker in the country. At large abdul time muck moods rain in sarawak would lead to environmental destruction on a grand scale in as that happened. The people around him. His family and allies became immensely wealthy. When claire rue castle brown began to report on sarawak. She would most could journalists. Do she followed the money. So when i started to as journalists. Approach the situation you know. I've made a decision. That i was going to start at the ground and i was going to look into. This man was famous throughout as raucous indeed malaysian beyond as an ostentatiously wealthy man but remember abdul tied mood had spent the entirety of his career as a public servant in malaysia. He had no reason to be so if he had abided by the rules of his job. Which was that. He should not engage in business natural lake while being an elected officer the state an unpaid salary as a public servant. We lived a lavish life on paper abdul time. Moods assets were meager. But that wasn't the case for his siblings cousins and children the bruno manser fund the swiss environmental ngo estimated in twenty twelve that twenty members of the type family together had around twenty billion dollars that would rank them as one of the wealthiest families in asia a leaked. Us state department cable from two thousand six stated that quote embassy sources outside the government uniformly characterize him as highly corrupt and that quote type and his relatives are widely thought to extract percentage for most commercial contracts including those for logging awarded in the state abdul thaib has denied that any of their wealth stems from corruption and the time has been investigated by the malaysian anti corruption commission. He has never been charged by malaysian authorities and as we criticized the wealth of his children he would then start to sort of allege that they were sort of brilliant geniuses in business from from the late teens. his children just happened to be brilliant. Not because they were his children the same goes for his siblings and cousins. He's denied that he ever had a hand in making them rich. So how did abdul time muck moods family get so rich. One representative example would be to look at the case of cuyamaca sarawak. The largest company in the state the company was founded in the nineteen seventies as a government owned cement manufacturer but abdul tied muck mood decided to change that when he became chief minister like many young countries. A lot of the assets of the state were controlled by the state will end by the state and what type decided was that. It was of high time that in thatcherite fashion they were privatized companies that have been owned by the state concessions that have been run by. The state suddenly ended up consolidated mainly in one particular company codes. Cms when cms became privatized a large portion of shares ended up in the hands of types family members but particularly in the early years. The vast majority of the jazz were owned by his wife who had left poland and arrived in australia without a penny on the maritime at an early age and his his children and various siblings and cousins. The sarawak constitution states. That the chief minister shall not hold any office of profit and shall not engage in any commercial enterprise. But that rule doesn't apply to the chief minister's wife according to a report from the bruno manser fund between nineteen ninety-three and twenty thirteen cuyamaca sarawak received almost one point five billion dollars in contracts from the state of sarawak and that same report states that most of those didn't go through public tendering process and types family members. Hell many key positions in the company owned mahmoud abul tie-break moods brother was the group chairman for years. He was succeeded by one of type sons. Souleymane another type son and a son-in-law also served on the board other family members were senior management according to a bloomberg report locals and sarawak joked that cms actually stood for chief minister and sons declare route castle. Brown says that cms was just one of many companies partially or wholly owned by time family. That benefited from state contracts. Since abdul tuck mood came to power timber has been one of the biggest industries and sarawak. The hardwoods from the rainforest are immensely valuable around the world for products such as luxury furniture and after the trees are cut down palm monocultures planted so that companies can manufacturer palm oil. Claire says that abdul type muck mood himself controlled who got the licenses for both timber and palm. And according to claire those licenses often ended up in the hands of companies controlled by the tide family or political allies of abdul tied mahmoud. So what you would see. Is the public purse. Providing the investment and his own family companies reaping the benefits of that investment. It was all pretty blatant unready. Anyone in the loop knew exactly what was going on for many years. The wealth of various members of abdul tied moods family is a matter of public record. But critics claire mccaskill brown and the bruno manser fund. Take this a step further. They argue that abdul tied muck mood himself is the ultimate financial beneficiary of many of these companies in two thousand thirteen global witness an ngo that focuses on corruption and human rights abuses conducted an undercover investigation in sarawak. They sent in someone to pose a western businessman who wanted to buy land and get a concession to start a palm plantation. Although we approached the government directly officials sent us to members of types own family one area of land offer global witness was owned by a company called ample agro. the company belongs to types. First cousins the abdul rodman sisters daughters of zero x previous chief minister here's one of his cousins fatma abdul rakhman speaking to the undercover investigator. About how easy it would be to get a license from the chief minister. Lost my My sisters the foil outside the company and then apartment down the one the office from the sba every yes. It's kind of hard to hear. But she's saying that her sisters are in the land and survey department that she can easily speak to the chief minister abdul tied muck mood research. So he's my father assisted the brothers siblings along tragedy. If you didn't catch that. She said that the chief minister will approve the licenses. Because he's her cousin. The global witness investigators were also put in touch with another lawyer. A man named wang lung long to talk about a different potential land deal. He explains that if they were to purchase the land they would need to personally pay off chief minister abdul tied muck mood. He explained how tie would expect to receive a ten percent personal payment for agreeing to the sale and providing the necessary permits william surface. As and i have you in return for me every sacking assemblage giving bribes to save in exchange for official permits appears to be standard practice. What we saw during our investigation was corroborated by several independent sources including a high ranking government. Official and a logging company executive when global witness went back to fatimah abdul rochman about their undercover investigation. She never replied. We were also unable to reach her for comment when long. The lawyer stated that quote. Your allegations were untrue. And not within my knowledge to answer later interview with the malay- mail. He said that he had been quote. Trapped by global witness and characterized. What he said as coffee shop talk. And here's a multi book mood denying that the investigation demonstrated he wasn't any way corrupt. I saw a socal could not being someone to become an agent to get is nothing to do with..

Because she's back on her satanic bullshit and has been for a while but For the most part. I ignore meghan kelly and the rest of hormone the white power posse because that's truly none of my business like that one dumb ass white girl who was carrying a fucking machine gun and rifle around her campus or whatever. Meghan kelly exact same situation however when it comes to black girls and especially famous black girls and to get even more specific naomi's soccer who has been talking about The importance of taking care of her mental health and withdrawing from the public eye When she felt it was too much for her to handle I feel extremely protective over these girls. And so meghan kelly's dumb bitch ass retweeted a tweet from somebody else. Talking how naomi osaka is allegedly to introverted to talk to the media. But she's put out a reality show talking about her net flicks Documentary and a barbie. And now she's on the cover of the swimsuit issue and so megan kelly who i truly think she thinks that like her number one mission in life is to find women of color or specifically black women who have jobs in are doing things and tries to take them down for you know having talent and a purpose neither which she possesses but she Re tweeted this and was like. Let's not forget the cover of an interview in vogue japan and time magazine as if to cosign this idea that like naomi osaka having social anxiety means that she doesn't have all these other things going on now. Anybody with more than five brain cells to rub together would say Considering that naomi made this decision within the past few months and considering that things like you know the production of a whole goddamn barbie doll or the creation of a whole god damn documentary or you know even the cover of magazines these things. I'll have giant lead times meaning. They were all in production in twenty twenty or twenty nineteen or even earlier. There is no way in. Hell mattel put out a barbie doll. Anemia soccer barbie doll and just got started on in the past eight weeks. It's literally a zero percent chance. And like i said anybody would know that but you would expect that somebody who purports to be journalist would absolutely no that however meghan. Kelly is meghan. Kelly is far more dedicated to being a racist piece of shit than actually being good at her job. antuna emmys credit. She re tweeted meghan. Tweeden said seeing azure journalists. Like i said sing as your journalists. I would've assumed you would take the time to research with the lead. Times are for magazines. And if you did that you would have found out that. Shot all my covers last year. Not this one. All of them dahmer. Instead your first reaction is to hop on here in spew negatively do better meghan and an additional shadow tamiami from misspell in meghan. Kelly's name absolutely adored it and if you think that that why women took that on the tuning was like damn. You're right my bad. I jumped to conclusions. Of course she fucking didn't she's a white woman who got cleared by twenty three year old black girl. Of course she didn't just take. Oh now naomi. Osaka has blocked me. I guess she doesn't want the actual media to engage with her appears. Morgan is back up anytime anytime. You impeach morgan on the same set switch says anyone. How do you not any human being how do you. How do you advice sage advice. Perhaps name suck naomi osaka's like desire to avoid the media has something to do with dumb ass bitches like you imagine. Imagine like how do you make that behaving this way. Does anything other than prove her point. The thing about naomi osaka is that. Y'all are so mad that she won't just be part of the machine job. She's that's really a young fee. Nam and number one in all these different ways and winning all these huge matches and all this other shit and yellow matt that she won't just shut up and go along with the god. Damn game varies a clear. Blatant absalon of bashed absolute like like terror that hangs on black people but when black women are like no. I don't wanna do this. You know whatever part of the game thing because it is unhealthy for me. Not because like oh. I'm a diva and you don't have the right flavor ruffles and honestly give mariah. Whatever the kind of eminem she wants biscuit. Ob- yourself who the fuck do you think can you do. You have a whistle register bank. I didn't think so exacto. Pick out her eminem. So but furthermore it's just like like blacks to ask like just basic human decency when it comes to this kind of thing and it's like no you're a slave to the machine here for us batch. How dare you think about yourself. How dare you consider your health and how it might relate to your right if you say. Wow i feel like you know. I don't sleep enough. Nine eleven happened just blocks from my house than we kind of got through it together and since then we've faced so many things and now we have two children ever and so far so good gail..

"Down down and now. It's time for eminent domain domain. Part to yes could not have come never going to let you know. Oh sorry no. That was me saving from having to do the physical work. Editing that in you know turns out incredibly fresh and i love that video. He's a little kid. It's the weirdest thing he looks a little kid. In a grownup it's two kids on their each other in a trenchcoat saying song with a deep baritone voice. It's the weirdest the weirdest thing anyway. Sorry not the not. The time i apologize. No no if you want to convert this show on the fly to a rick ashley podcast. I am down okay but no turns we could not have been more pressure in having episode five hundred finally cover eminent domain because just last week the supreme court released very very important eminent domain case cedar point nursery versus said. So i wanna. I'm gonna ask you a question thomas we see. This is not a bar exam question but we'll see if you can get right recalling that the big takeaway from episode five hundred was the difference between a regulatory and a physical take. I characterize something as a regulatory taking that gives you the property owner very little protection only applies if the regulation goes too far if characterize as a physical taking it gives you ridiculous amount of protection right. It's less about the fact that we also learned that physical takings were often less about compensating. The property owner and about constraining the power of government with this absolutist view property rights. We talked about the decision. Loretto versus teleprompter manhattan cable. Tv right nineteen eighty-two trying to which new york tried to protect the rights of renters to install cable and the supreme court said. Yeah but these cable boxes right. There permanently affixed to the wall. It's only four inches by four inches by four inches. But like that's now you know one point zero two cubic feet of your property that you don't have any more so that's physical taking. I don't don't answer yet. Give you a little bit more background. Thomas i tell you. This is a standard six three conservative liberal. Let's see if you can guess how this particular decision comes out because it involves something that the right wing of this court and the right wing in general hates which is unionizing so So let's talk about the california agricultural labor relations act of nineteen seventy-five five gives agricultural employees. The right to self organization right and it makes it an unfair labor practice for employers to interfere with that right case over. The right hates that got it. Yeah of course. And so one of the ways in which giant agricultral farms would interfere with that right that the necessitates rulemaking is. They would say okay. Union reps can't come onto the premises right so california state agricultural labor relations board feel like i know where this is going. Promulgated a regulation k. That regulation you might notice. I'm saying the word regulation out. This hint said That the self organization rights employees include quote. The right of access by union organizers to the premises of an agricultural employer for the purpose of meeting and talking with employees and soliciting their support and the last time we talked about union organizing in the walmart case right we talked about how In order to qualify under an analog are be. You've got to get a certain number of signatures And then if you get a certain number of signatures you can trigger an election and then it's majority rules and then if you win the election then that becomes you become the collective bargaining unit for for that group of employs so in order to get the signatures yet. Be able to come onto the property. So when can you come onto the property. Here's what the existing regulation says that a labor organization may take access for up to four thirty day periods in one calendar year. They have to serve notice on the national labor relations board after serve a copy to the employer and here's when they can show up. I they get to organizers per work crew plus one additional organizer for every fifteen workers over thirty that are in the crew k. so based on the number of people that are there so every fifteen workers over that gets you if you forty five you get three if sixty you get four and so on so that you know you can actually talk to two people. You may then enter the property for up to one hour before work one hour during lunch and one hour after work. And then the regulation says you may not engage in disruptive conduct for. You may not be there trying to talk to people during working hours but are otherwise free to talk and meet with the employees an hour beforehand. An hour after and during lunch when they're not so interfering with that right of access right chaining them up hiring security guard hiring Guys with clubs all of which really happened to beat the crap. Out of a union organizers That's an unfair labor practice. You'd think yeah so. Just want to summarize. So this regulation requiring you if you run a huge. Agricultural farm to labor organizers temporarily come onto the property and talk to your employees either before after working before after working hours or during lunch and which regulates you from disrupting the business you think. This regulation was held to be a regulatory taking or a physical taking know for. I have one more thing that i got to tell you about of. There's a small cable box on the property. Let's talk about that. They have to set their lunchbox on the property as they come onto it. Maybe that case loretto went out of its way to explain that. Look we get it. We know that those cable boxes were totally small but but the reason that that was a physical taking was because they were permanently installed on the property right. So here's at. The supreme court said in that loretto cable box case nineteen to quote the permanence and absolute exclusivity of physical occupation stands in contrast to the temporary limitations on a right to exclude. Not every physical invasion is taking you know and a good example of that is he combined a read the gas meter just going to say i mean. Does this even apply like inspecting restaurants and stuff ms physical taking. So let's think about that with those two things in mind. How do you think this. Supreme court characterized a temporary regulation of temporary regulated access to the property. Was that a regulatory taking. Probably okay or a physical taking so definitely not a see this. Rake right in front of me. Let me just step on that clearly. A regulatory taking andrew. That's easy bar question. That's probably i think the korean agrees with me two. That's obvious i'm not even gonna flip the coin so quoting from page seven. The access regulation appropriate a right to invade the growers property and therefore constitutes a per se. Physical take the regulation. Grants union organizers. The right to physically enter an occupy. The growers land for three hours a day hundred and twenty days per year rather than restraining the growers use of their own property. The regulation appropriates for the enjoyment of third parties. The oldest right to exclude. Wow so i guess they got it wrong. They failed the bar. I'm not. I'm not gonna say that the coin i got that wrong. They failed the test but they write the f. ing rules so now we all failed because they're wrong. Is that how this works. Yes and by the way the majority is so cognizant that what they're writing is nonsense right and again and again. Let's be clear here. This is john. Roberts opinion right so you know all of that. Last week john roberts saves the aca. And what a centrist and. This is the work that is being done in. Plain view remains an activist right wing. Supreme court john roberts as bad as samuel alito. No right nobody on. Earth is as bad as samuel clarence. Thomas but is is john. Roberts still a right wing activist out there to dismantle the power of unions. Yes and and this disproves that and section. Three of the opinion says well. What about thomas question right. Doesn't this seem to open the floodgates to any kind of regulation where not clear. How does conclusion sometimes when you're reading this court stuff. thomas said. i'm like what. I didn't say that this is something i actually said. Okay this is something you actually set right. So the california agricultural labor relations board seconded by the descent and again six three. The descent is just the three liberal justices on the supreme court warns the treating the access regulation as a per se physical taking will endanger a host of state and federal government activities involving entry under private property. Because it would. Unless you're going to say okay. Well but now. Here's how i'm narrowing this opinion. So it really can only be read as applying to unions because our end game is making it impossible for union store and we.

john roberts samuel alito Thomas two kids sixty walmart samuel clarence four inches last week two people four thomas Last week Three loretto forty five two cubic feet two three hours a day one point

"Seen a rash of police shootings of police officers in the last couple of weeks. We see the numbers. Now that homicides in general are up. This year over last year and last year was terrible year. Do police officials have any explanation for the surge. You know They they really don't but there's a great deal of concern that that police officers and some cases are being targeted weeks ago Did wine at a police district where an officer agrees one to his his lip. He was just outside when that happened. There was a large police response. Luckily he was okay. The next day an officer who was off duty was involved in. What was a carjacking. And that was a really a tough situation. Where we're officers responded. I and the more than ten years. That i've worked at nbc Chicago and covered shootings throughout the city. this is the worst. Vaccine withheld from hospital that gave Trump Tower shots

"Have to move on to this bombshell story. That blocked club first reported this week. Loretto hospital in austin before we get into all the impropriety here today. They said that they are reprimanding their coo and their ceo for these improper. Vaccinations kelly bauer. Do we know what reprimand means. In this case. I have to to politicians who are on the hospital's board of directors. And all they would say at the time was that we put out this statement. We're not going to elaborate on rep. What it means to reprimand so we are still trying to figure that out and see what could be happening to the ceo coo. Okay so the first story that you published here was that they the coo. Dr notion med has an apartment in trump tower about two and a half million dollar apartment and the hospital. That has these vaccinations for folks on the west side. Improperly administered vaccinations to trump tower employees. Is there any evidence of some sort of trade-off or exchange or how how this came to be well. We spoke to leto hospital and their ceo. George miller says that it was actually him who helped set up this event but what we found is that right or workers at trump tower told residents that it was loretto hospital that reached out to them now. Loretto hospital is saying that its workers who reached out to them. So it's very much a. He said she said situation. But the city's department said they are looking into it and investigating why these ineligible workers were able to get shots. Before other people and also ineligible were cook. County judges and guest preach judge that also got vaccinated. And there's some different answers onto how that happened. Even though those were not allowed in the current phase as well amanda vindicated. You look at the board of this hospital. As kelly mentioned there's to state lawmakers that sit on the board There's a state lawmaker. Camille lilly that works for the hospital. This is a hospital that gets tens of millions of dollars in reimbursements from the state's medicaid program. Is there a conflict of interest. Here that there can be this much clout on a hospital board. I mean those are certainly questions that were all asking. What sort of favors might members of the war getting terms of the vaccines employment whatnot. We're we're not saying that there is merely that these are the questions to ask in. This gets to something that we've talked about a lot as there's been a lot of corruption of course in springfield and that is that there are really lax economic interests statements conflict of interest rules in then again to place. Where have devil's advocate there. There are those who say it. Is it positive when you have. For example he state legislator employed by hospital because that brings along a expertise. This is a citizen legislature. It is technically a part time job and the reason for that being was because you want to bring in farmers dentists doctors people with all different sorts of knowledge so there are certainly two sides to that point but given kelly's reporting the trump tower. I think that's what it is. It's just it's it's the who got it because these are. There's a lot to look into here and kelly bars. You mentioned that the city's health department is investigating. They've halted vaccinations to that hospital. What do you anticipate. They're going to uncover in their probe. Well we've heard from multiple sources and people questioning why workers at trump tower who are able to get vaccinated and not other hotel workers now. We've also seen that. The ceo's church was able to get vaccinated. This doctor arwady. The head of the city's health department said today that they are investigating they will not be sending doses to loretto hospital until they are confident. Those doses are going to be appropriately.

Yeah i would really encourage everybody that listens to santa clara to look at your own life Especially if you're white and look at how anti black racism is present Is present at your work. Site is present In your socializing is present in your family and and actually confronted lake. Start to name it. Start to understand what purpose it plays. And who benefits from anti-black racism. You know a lot of times. I think that we've really in a lot of people say this to. We've really kind of not made a mistake. But i think we've confused ourselves with the language of like white privilege right like i have the privilege of getting a band aid and the color of my skin. I have the privilege of getting a job. Because i'm white That kind of thing. And i think that you know one of the things. I really hope that people can do. We can start challenging ourselves to stop saying white privilege when what we really mean is White supremacy when we really mean is anti black racism right. So is it really white privilege that you get better health Attention when you go to the hospital. Let's say if your weight is that white privilege Or is what you're actually saying. Is that someone who is not wait. Actually <hes> we'll have a pulse. Oximeter not read their oxygen levels correctly or a person votes give birth. We'll have a a a hemorrhage we'll hemorrhage while while giving birth at a rate much higher than had they not been racialized so they're not gonna black or indigenous especially and that's really important because because it isn't about like the privilege narrative is so fucking liberal again that it isn't actually about my personal privilege nor loretto like it's actually about how me nor loretto. I fit into this other world in the work that they do and the things that i say in the culture i consume in the people. We have to explain this to people for whom A lot of it is invisible because it's the other feature of white supremacy which is that. It renders that that thing that creates white privilege invisible rights. We have to make it visible for people so that we can actually combat this stuff. And i think that that's really helpful too because there's been a lot of the narrative the united states like well. These are just down and out white people. It's economic anxiety. It's all this kind of thing right and it's like No Like a lot of the refunding people taking like private jets right. This isn't about the yeah okay. Rich people have economic anxiety. Probably more than a lot of other people but not for like good reasons And and so like reformulating. This i think is just so so important. Forget Barrel-Aged Whiskey: This Company Whips Up Instant Aged Spirits in the Lab

"This is a little test. If you're a fan of craft of things that require years of patients to pay off, say a Christmas tree farm, a newly designed luxury car or an eighty year. Old Scotch time is a worthwhile investment to you on the other hand. If speed matters more to you than craft, you may see years invested in, say those Christmas trees as so much wasted time. It's much faster to make an artificial tree after all and you can still hang lights on them but what if you could have convenience and craft at the same time? Seems impossible doesn't well, not anymore at least for one particular beverage, scientific innovation has come to whiskey. There's nothing about whisky that's new. The startup uses the lab to bring the barrel to the spirits rather than the other way around in other words, it's using material science massive amounts of data analysis to. They think they need to grow the rest of the business, not just custom blending new products behind the scenes, but also helping distilleries rescue batches of expired beer or spirits from distributors that aren't quite right which seems. To be a good foundation for a promising business, still it's hard to grow a whole new category of anything without enough money. "We are going to move to the super bowl silly Ravitz segues for kids and Super Bowl commercials. I want to get your thoughts on the Super Bowl commercials and we're gonNA start with the top five commercials. According to add meter k the number one ranked commercial was GPS groundhog day featuring Bill Murray number two was smart. Pock number three was Google Loretto. Don't wear the man used Google Assistant to bring up memories of his late. Wife number four was Doritos the cool ranch which featured a showdown between Lil NAS and Sam Elliott and coming in at number five was rocket mortgage is comfortable spot featuring the guy who plays aqua man so yes so. Let's lead it off. Ron Gross. Yeah do you have. Do you have a stand out our favor. Overall thoughts on Super Bowl ads. I thought they were pretty good this year. I'm not one that eve cheer says says glued to the TV. He can't wait for them. But you know I always keep keep an eye on them and this year I think they were pretty good. Some fell flat for sure. The Google and boy that got me ahead of had excused myself fervent tended. I had some allergies needed to clear up routine because that was that was pretty emotion. Crush me. Yeah it was. It was tears. I you know I got glossy eyed. Yeah I got a little I got a little. I thought the second half commercials were much better than the first half. I like that list. That ad meter sure who had meter is or how they rate these ads but I did like I liked all that they they mentioned. I thought the Alexa ad from Amazon with Ellen Generous and Porsche Rossi drowsy. I thought that was very good. I like that the idea. Do you have like how do we live before we could just kinda ask Alexa. And they kind of went through different historical funny situation. I thought that was that was that was a nice ad that basically sleep pointed to the value of this but also spoke to the brand the brand power of Alexa and Amazon in general over. Okay I didn't I didn't think any particular the super funny Although I did like the the Bill Murray ad for jeep was pretty funny. Love had to explain to my daughter's because they didn't understand who bill Mary was and what ground home so I smacked pack made me laugh the most I think or maybe smile that was that was clever right I would. I would watch that again. I actually whereas most of these I would doesn't doesn't appeal to me to watch again so in terms of the business impact. Is there one of these as that. You look at what I did. I think that did the most for the business one that I particularly had a little bit of discussion in my family because because it was environmentally focus was the Michelob.
