Rejecting the "Spirit of Timidity" With Eric Metaxas

"Do you feel as if the church is getting more courageous or less courageous over the last year, year and a half? Well, Romans 8 28, all things work together for good for those that love the lord and call according to his purposes. What does it mean? It means that as things get more and more and more obviously horrible and openly satanic, the good news is that's what it takes to wake up some people who otherwise would continue to sleep forever and have been asleep forever. When you see things getting this bad, fill in the dots. I mean, fill in the blanks. You know what those things are everywhere we look. It's disaster. It is open evil. That is finally waking some people up. And the reason I keep saying that I wrote the book letter to the American church is to reason with the person who isn't already there to say like, what do you say to this? Most people who read the book they get convicted, they realize, you know what? I just hadn't heard this. I live in an America where we don't, we don't mix faith in politics and I didn't understand I had this preposterous inoculation against the idea of it. And I avoid people like Charlie Kirk and Eric, I've avoided you because you've gotten too political. They're completely theologically wrong. If you can persuade them, wait a minute. Can you take another look at this? Often they're convicted. And then they say, what can I do? And the first thing I say is either give the book to your pastor and say, I want to talk to you about this in two weeks. And if they are not interested in it for the love of God, find another church. Do not continue going to and giving to a church that is looking the other way because you are being complicit in evil. Globalist atheist monsters are aggressively trying to take over this nation in the world, and if you look the other way, if you do nothing, all those who suffer are suffering because of your inaction and your silence, the church has to understand, we have unique responsibility and calling from God. It ought to be a privilege for us to do something about it.

Tim Mahoney Unpacks His Life-Changing Journey to Mount Sinai

"So much evidence and some experts don't agree, you know, even people that would agree the Bible is the inherent word of God would disagree on some interpretations or some dating. That's normal. The point is we're all looking for what is true. We're all trying to get to the bottom of it. And it's an exciting journey. And we should be excited to be on the journey. I absolutely. And I am very much friendly with and Friends with people who are agnostic. People who don't know, I meet more agnostic than I do atheists, to be honest with you. They're just guys who have lots of questions. And we have lots of different viewpoints about chronology about interpretation about location. And there are believers that believe very strongly in other mountain locations. For the first time, I'm going to basically share with you where I think the strength of the argument lies. Do we have all the solutions? No. But we have an amazing pattern of evidence. And there's another thing to learn from this. The Israelites were told to come to the mountain and they're going to worship God there. And during the making of this film, I battled with fear. You know, fear of, am I going to be able to finish this 20 year task? Am I going to be able to find a way to pay for it? And all these different fears. And the Israelites were fearful. They didn't know if they're going to what they're going to eat. If they're going to have water, where they were going, they were fearful of a lot of things. And they complained. And what I learned from watching this film and I'm hoping the audience will learn is that we're going to be called on a journey. Each one of us is on a personal journey. And we can learn from the Israelites, what not to do, which is to complain. And to look to other things. And at the end of this film, we have a bonus feature that will be on it. And I felt that this film concludes with worship at Mount Sinai. And I've added that component into the end of this film. And I was convicted that, in fact, I was at a coffee shop and I was walking out, carrying this burden, carrying these fears in this pastor looked at me and he said, he was doing a Bible study there. And he looked up, I recognized him. From the inner city. And he said, Tim, how's it going? I said, I ignore to begin. And the first words out of his mouth were, and I know they weren't just his words. He says, Tim, you need to worship the lord more.

Steven Strang Unpacks the Prophecy of Trump's Re-Election

"Clement got it right when he said, you know, Trump will be a president or whatever, but he says he are two terms. Now he doesn't say consecutive terms. What do you make? Are you able to speculate on why some prophetic voices were so insistent that Trump would be elected this time in 2020 and it's so it's just hard for me to process and you don't want to ask the wrong person because some people will get angry at you, what do you make of it? Because I never seen what I deal with this in the book. Pendulum swing too far one way or the other. There's some people who don't think prophecy is for today at all. There are other people that go around prophesying everything in the world. And I believe that there are people who've actually made a name for themselves going around prophesying about Trump and this is my own opinion. I think a lot of us wishful thinking. And there are some people that think, well, if I were God, I would do this. So of course God is going to do it. And there are a lot of people that would really like Trump in The White House. But look, what I don't understand, it's one thing to say that. It's one thing to say, I believe the lord is saying, but it's an entirely different thing to say the lord has said, and then you say something. And in fact, the lord didn't say it. That's like blasphemy. So this is where I get very confused. Are there a number of people that they're in the flesh and they're confusing their flesh or the old testament? Old Testament, prophets actually spoke for the lord. In the New Testament, it's one of the gifts of the spirit. And Paul, the apostle Paul, very clearly said to test the spirits and test the prophecies and so forth.

Stephen Strang Rejects the Lie That Faith & Politics Must Be Separate

"With my friend Stephen strang, it's strange without the E strang. He is a bestselling author, founder of charisma, magazine, the new book of spirit led living in an upside down world. But part of what we're talking about right now, and this is a very central subject for me, is dealing with this lie that we've been dealing with in America that somehow faith needs to be separated from politics, that the two, that is not biblical. And you've been very brave Steven strang, not just in writing your book God and Donald Trump. But the point is, you know, we can challenge people and say, listen, if I'm missing something, help me see what I missing. But when the Holy Spirit gets involved, if you believe in the prophetic, which you and I do, you even write in the book about Kim Clement, the South African prophet who in 2007, which is about a million years before anybody thought Donald Trump might run for president. Gave a famous prophecy. Now, you can either say, I don't believe in prophecy. Kind of just, you know, he got lucky. But you write about that and there's a lot to that he was speaking at bethel church in Redding California, which I just was saying bethel church has started a church here in New York City. I'm thrilled to say, but can you talk a little bit about that? Because I don't think we've ever covered that on this program. What a crazy, amazing thing that Kim Clement, who's now been gone to be with the lord, that he actually got a prophecy in 2007. Well, I got to know him in the early 90s when he hadn't been over here from South Africa very long. I really don't remember what prompted it. I do remember being at a convention once and having a long discussion over a meal. I actually had him come and do a retreat for the men on my staff before he was famous, or he wouldn't have done weekend retreats. And I just kind of watched his career. He had a great gift of prophecy. He was able to administer prophetically. He was a worshipper. He was a musician. And if you're not a Pentecostal, sometimes it's hard for you to understand him. He's all over YouTube. People need to Google him on YouTube, and they can see there were two main ones. And I document them and got in Donald Trump. He was the first of several people profits who said that God was raising up this unlikely businessman like Cyrus. Cyrus was the Persian king. Who originally said Cyrus, who was the first prophetic voice to link or maybe you don't know, but I'm just wondering. Probably Lance walnut claims it, but I would have to dig back to find out who you Cyrus to start with. The idea I'm pretty sure. I'm pretty sure it was I. I'm pretty sure it was right. No, it was not. I think you're right. I think it was Lance will now.

Pastor Allen Jackson Discusses the Church's Sleeping "Giant"

"The pendulum discussion earlier. And I think we're guilty of that in America and especially in the church. You know, the pendulum always swings back this way. Things balance out. Now, that idea really expresses a profound ignorance of history. The British lost the empire, Rome did collapse. The Jews were driven out of Jerusalem and the temple was burned. The pendulum does not always come back to center. It requires choices on our part and some intentional decisions, or I'm with groups of Christians frequently and they say, well, you know, the church is the sleeping giant. I pray that's true, but I have enough experience in the church. I don't know that there's a giant sleeping. I think there might be something small sleeping, and I pray it wakes up. But I think we're going to have to seek the lord as if our lives depended upon it. Right. We're going to have to get far more intentional. You and me, I'm not pointing my finger at anybody else. I've got to know the lord in a better way next week than I know him this week. In greater power, I have to recognize the voice of his spirit. We have followed the conventional wisdom of the secular culture for so long. We don't recognize the truth any longer. It's uncomfortable to us. I'm not asking somebody else to be the difference. I'm saying I'll change my schedule my life. I'll be vulnerable. Let's go tell the truth.

Was Socrates Anti-Democracy?

"Here's question number one. Admittedly, I have not read much about the man Socrates other than a philosophy one O one course and college decades ago right now, however, I'm reading a book by IF stone called the trial of Socrates. In this book, the author indicates that Socrates was quite contrary to democracy and that he also seemed somewhat antisocial. Should you rethink the name of your conferences? I get an unexamined life is not worth living quote that probably underpins your event. But however, maybe opaque in the 21st century is a better name. Just a thought God bless you are, I guess, in the 21st century. Yeah. How about, I don't think so. I guess, in the 21st century, you think that that might be better than Socrates in the city. Catchy. I got to be honest with you, friend. I don't think nobody, including Alban just now. Can pronounce it. Tell me, because it's Greek, and I know Slovenian, but no, and the idea that Socrates was contrary to democracy, let me just tell you, he also didn't believe in the lord Jesus. But the reason it's called Socrates in the city is because he was Greek and that's all that matters to me. Ladies and gentlemen, okay? You want to know what matters to me. He's Greek, good enough. No, the fact that he said the unexamined life is not worth living, implies. And I say this almost at the beginning of every Socrates event, by the way, you can go to Socrates in the city dot com and you can watch our most recent events. But he says the unexamined life is not worth living, implying that thinking about the deep questions makes life worth living. In other words, he's positing the idea that there is such a thing as truth.

The Omnipotent God Is Our Helper

"Psalm chapter 54 verse four behold, God is my helper. The lord is the upholder of my life. Is that not an awesome verse? Just let this soak in for you today. One, God is your helper. What a picture. And we're talking about God. The sovereign ruler of all creation. He calls himself in his word your helper. The omnipotent, creator of all, says I live to help you. Just let that soak in today. What help do you need? Lay down all your pride before the omnipotent God and say, God, I need your help. And this way, and that way your life and family and your work and your church and every single facet of your life to say God I need your help. Look to God continually as your helper and as the upholder of your life. Picture that right now? God is the one is holding up your life. You are held by him right now personally. See the picture of God's love for you in this? He upholds your life. He keeps you, and not just upholds you, he protects you, guards you, guides you, provides for you all of this is what's involved in him upholding your life just to think about this in light of all of the trials and temptations, challenges and weary discouraging things that might come at us in this world that maybe you're walking through right now just to realize wow God is holding me up in the middle of it all and promises to hold me up because we trust in him he will help us and uphold us.

"Tell your story and talk about your book ignite your life and let's have some fun. Well, you know, the story of joy is I just think one because Karen and I Karen could be up here with the Karen. I love you to death through my life everywhere there she is right there. You were working on 60 years of marriage in December. Frankly, I think frankly I think the lord's coming before that, we're not going to see it, but, you know, but, you know, I was born in a Christian home and so a Sunday morning Sunday Night Wednesday night saw, you know, all the stuff and the parents had mentored me well. And so we got married and Karen did not have quite the same upgrading I did, but she was solid with me and we were volunteering for everything in the church and you know what like during the week we'd go out and knock on doors and we just doing everything we possibly could and we realized we didn't have joy. And we said, how's that possible guy? We're doing all right, we're trying to earn our way into heaven like earn God's favor, which you can't do that, by the way. He already loves you completely. You can't get any more than completely. So, but we were just trying to figure that out and we actually were having some time when we were kind of nipping at each other, right? This should not be right. We should not be having these kinds of situations, having joy, where did all this joy gonna come from? And so we started praying for joy. We literally started fraying every day God we want joy. And we end up about maybe a month later or so. And we went to a lunch at our church, 15th anniversary, luncheon, they had her belly wood. Herb was illegal affairs secretary for Ronald Reagan and then president Reagan after that. And he was a speaker. And I was assigning the seat next to him next to the podium and for an hour. I was wanting to hear Reagan. Do you really pray in his office all these guys? We never mentioned Reagan. I'm never thought of breaking for an hour. A Prayer for Church Unity

"Believers in Christ belong to the same family, so our attitudes toward one another must reflect Christ attitude in philippians two, one through 11. When we surrender to God, he works in us and enables us to develop these virtues. We, the church, struggle with unity and peace amongst one another. We fight, point fingers, call names, argue and fuss. We separate ourselves into groups based on location, ethnicity, and age, rather than focusing on our common bond, our common identity and Christ and our common need to depend on the Holy Spirit. Our commonality must be elevated so our differences don't divide. What is our commonality? It is the fact that we are wretched centers who deserved God's wrath. Yet he loved us and saved us through Jesus and made us one. We don't deserve forgiveness but we have it. We don't deserve the riches of his glorious power, but we have it. These two truths need to impact our interactions with each other. It is our responsibility to keep protect, guard, and maintain the unity of spirit by the bond of peace. If we submit our entire self to the lord, we can live a life worthy of his calling by cultivating humility, gentleness, patience, and forbearance. Let's pray. Holy God, thank you that you give us everything we need to live a Christian life. Your word is life and light to me and I'm so grateful for it. Forgive me for contributing to disunity and help me grow in humility, gentleness, patience, and forbearance. I want to live a life worthy of your call, and I surrender to your ways in my life. Help me keep the bond of peace with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Knit us together in our common bonds of the sinners in need of a savior. In Jesus name, amen.

The Energy Secretary Is Decapitating National Defense

"An energy secretary that's willing to literally decapitate the ability to defend ourselves as a nation and call it something for the greater good for the good of green energy for the good of and even green energy itself is based in a false notion that God created a world, but he can't sustain it. Scripture says that not only did God create this world, but that it is sustained by his word alone. Meaning that until God says the end of the world is here, it's not going to be here. So I'm not sure that I need to worry about Jennifer Granholm's assessment of any of that. Now, what's Paul's response in second Timothy three when he says in these days, this is all going to come. Go over to chapter four. He says, therefore, I solemnly charge you in the presence of God who judges the living from the dead, preach the word, in season and out of season, preach the word. In other words, tell the truth. No matter how difficult it gets, no matter how much the culture may push back against it, speak the truth, live the truth, be the truth, but that's our calling here, Eric. You do this every day on your show. You call your people to walk in this kind of manner, but the apostle Paul is calling us to do it the same way. And why? Because we are in the time when good will be called evil, evil be called good and without God's church on the planet, there's no restraining force against that evil's advance. That's what we're here for. While we're here, we are to do his work until the lord returns. Well, that's a really beautiful summation of where all of this takes us because

The Lord Will Never Forsake You: Trust God's Plan

"Psalm one 38 verse 8 in the English standard version says the lord will fulfill his purpose for me. You are steadfast love O lord endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands. It can be hard to trust God's plan when all we can see is our own. Wouldn't it be nice to have a flow chart to tell us exactly how to plan and prepare or a quick footnote to explain how difficulties will turn out for our good and his glory. How convenient that would be, the guesswork of life would be gone but unfortunately so would our faith. The Bible teaches us that faith is believing and trusting in what we can't see, and this includes God's plan for our lives. Yet regardless of how little we understand his intricate picture, we can trust that God has a beautiful purpose for our life. Psalm one 38 verse 8 says the lord will not forsake the work of his hands. He will never abandon us and this promise is demonstrated by his steadfast love. His love and purpose endures forever. We don't always make great choices and sometimes we even try to get ahead of God, but as we walk with Jesus, he will lead. We are never forgotten nor are we haphazardly led. God's plan is never an oops, but rather it is help and rescue, like the shepherd, who carries home the lost or injured sheep. Praise be to God, we are never too lost to be found and never too broken to mend. So today, let us rest in the hands of God.

Finding Beauty in God's Timing

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart. Yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes three versus 11 through 12. I lived in the Midwest of the United States almost my entire life up until two years ago. We would experience all four seasons, but it usually went something like this. 5 to 6 months of winter, two to three weeks of spring, four to 5 months of summer in two to four weeks of fall. I have to admit, winter was always my least favorite season and out of all the seasons and in the Midwest, it is the longest. I remember waiting for spring to come with great expectation. But come January, I would usually grow extremely impatient and ready to pack my bags and move our family to somewhere much warmer. Honestly, it was one of the main reasons our family did end up moving a thousand miles away to start a new chapter in the sunshine state. For many of my friends and family, they are longing for the warmer temperatures of spring to make their appearance in stay. Soon enough, the fresh leaves will fully cover what were barren branches and flowers will be in full bloom. None of us have to worry if the seasons are going to change because they always do. God is a master artist like that and has it all under control. Just like seasons are set to a specific time that God ordains. So are events in our life. And on and even bigger scale, our journey with him as it unfolds. Only he knows how to take a rebellious heart of stone and transform it into a heart of flesh that praises his holy name. This profound reality of God forming a life and one who learns how to deny self and worship the lord is not an overnight event. No, just like seasons change in their own time, the change of a life for the glory of Christ is a process. In God's perfect timing, we will begin to see the transformation.

The Exaltation of the Lord

"Psalm chapter 47 versus one and two clap your hands all peoples shout to God with loud songs of joy. For the lord, the most ties to be feared, a great king over all the earth. I love this first and especially the way it follows on the end of the chapter before it. So some 46 verse ten says be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among all the nations. I will be exalted in all the earth. God sang, be still. My purpose in the world is going to be accomplished. My exaltation among all the nation. That is God's purpose in the world. God is orchestrating all of history or his exaltation in all the earth, which means if that's God's purpose in the world, and we are worshipers of God and followers of God children of God and what's our purpose in the world. Our purpose in the world is the exaltation of our God among all the nations

"So removed him says, I want you out of my sight and I want you to go out here and look at and he went out and he came in before the people. Remarkable. It doesn't read. If you're going to be thrown spears at me when I'm trying to give you your musical therapy, I'm not going anywhere. No. And he went out and he came in before the people. And that brings us to our final point. That there was a unity that he experienced that there was a jealousy that he encountered, but there was also a victory that he enjoyed. Go back up to verse 5, which we skipped, and there you read it, and David went out and was successful. There's your word. There's the victory. Wherever so sent him so that so said him over the men of war. And this was good in the sight of all the people. And also in the site of solve servants. When you get back down to about 16, you'll notice that it wasn't just his own folk that rejoiced with him, but all of Israel. Not just Judah. They love David. For he went out and came in before them. It's a picture actually of him going out to battle and returning. But notice what we discover, that the victory engendered fear in the heart of soul, and at the same time it aroused love in the hearts of the people. You see, the key to David's victory and his popularity. Was not on account of his looks or his past achievements. The narrator is almost at pains to make sure that we understand that. That's why I began as I began the first encounter we have with David, we are told and the lord was with him. That's what we covered in the service of God.

"But what we do know is that Saul took it in this way. After all, it says that they went out to meet king Saul. They didn't go out to meet David. And you will notice that it is soul's name that comes first. And in this kind of poetic framework, it's not unusual for a number that appears in line one to be beefed up in line two. You can find that if you look, nevertheless, Saul is too immature, he's too insecure to let it go. And to quote Joyce Baldwin, it rankled and festered in him. An incurable jealousy. He sees it as a threat to his position. The lord had torn the kingdom from him. And Samuel had told him on that occasion. That he has given it to a neighbor of yours who is better than you. Better than you. There's the stain you see. I'm the king. No, this is a neighbor who is better than you. And Saul now, I think census that he has just met his neighbor. Now he's confronted by this neighbor, and you will notice that as he goes down through the line, they've ascribed to David 10,000s. They only ascribe thousands to me. There's nothing else for this guy to have, but the kingdom. And of course, he actually says more than even understands. Because that is what is about to take place. Now, this doesn't come out of nowhere. Few of our words actually come out of nowhere. The Bible actually says that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. It'd be hard to imagine that Saul had been able to dismiss that phraseology after he had heard it on that day. The lord has taken the kingdom from you, so and he has given it to one of your neighbors who's better than you. And they wake up in the morning and said better than you better than you better than you. Rejected, rejected, rejected. Another king, the lord has sought out a man, rejected you as king. Jealousy. Jealousy. Destroy our marriage, disrupt our family, bust a business, neutralize a sports team, create absolute chaos. In a church leadership and reduce a church family to bear bones. Wrath is cruel, says Solomon, anger is overwhelming. But who can stand before jealousy? James, in his epistle, which is the most proverbial of all the New Testament letters, picks it up in chapter three, and he says we're jealousy and selfish ambition exist.

"He says to his armor bearer, let's go over to the garrison, which was a brave thing to do, it may be, it may be that the lord will work for us, where is he looking? He's looking to the lord, the lord who was with David. It may be that the lord will work for us for nothing can hinder the lord from saving by many or by few. That was his conviction. And now he comes right out of the experience in chapter 17, and it would be hard if he did not actually admire him. But admiration doesn't do it. No, this unity has to do with affection, affection, because the terminology and the verbs that are used if we say it anything other than we wouldn't be true to the text. As soon as he finished speaking to Saul, first one, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David. Knit to the soul of David. It is a metaphor, but it's a powerful metaphor. They were co joined, they were joined together at a soul level, Jonathan, I looked to you, lord, as we go against this garrison, he now watches David as he goes against this giant, he is the one Jonathan who has said, the lord is able to save by many or by few, certainly it is few because it's only David on his own. And his soul is joined to David's, he made a covenant with him as you will see in everyday life in the story of human friendship, if you have one friend, you are rich, if you have one friend in the world who can tolerate you, be honest with you, love you, know the worst about you and stick with you. You are rich if you have two you are a multi millionaire in the realm of friendship.

"Have no life apart from Christ. So right now, we're going to take time to share in the lord's supper together as they did. And I'm going to give you some time in just a moment to get up and gather the elements. And then to going to take communion actually today altogether. I'm going to lead us through that. We'll take of the bread together and then we'll take of the cup together. We'll have some time to pray. And we're just going to really now that we're focused in on what the bread and the cup reference in our lives. I want to actually walk through it as they would have on that night. So I'll lead us through communion, and then when we're complete, completed communion together, we're going to actually sing one of the halal songs from psalm one 18 versus 14 to 17 that Jared has written for us. And then we'll move into our third point this morning. So at this point, I'm going to invite you to get up and to retrieve the elements. And as the disciples were sent out just two, you can go and retrieve elements for your spouse for your family, not every person has to get up, but every person should be holding some communion today if you truly are a follower of Jesus.

"Only fair when we change things up in a given day on a given Sunday that I prepare you for it. So it's not a big change, but we're just going to do something a little bit different. We're going to focus on communion today because this is what Jesus was doing with his disciples. They had gathered for Passover, and he was walking through Passover, but he was instituting the lord's supper, which is what we take. Each week. So the difference today is just going to be in the place that we position our time of communion. It's going to come earlier in the service. It's going to be more just after kind of the middle section of our service. And then there's going to be a closing time, our third point will still kind of walk through when we're done with that. But I wanted to associate our time of communion with actually the time in which Jesus was doing that within our text today. Not only that, but in the middle of the is it going to take place more in the middle, but verse 26 of our text in Mark 14 notes that after the institution of the lord's supper, they sang a hymn together. And to him that they would have sung, I believe, came from what's called the halal portion of psalm, which I think begins like around one 13 and goes through one 18 or so. But I've chosen a section that I think they would have sung together just following the institution of the lord's supper, which is psalm one 18 versus 14 to 17. So here's what I did. On Monday, when I got this inspiration, not several Mondays ago, but this Monday, right? I sent Jared a text. And Monday is actually his day off, but it doesn't matter. Because I have the authority to call at any time, right? I imposed on his Monday. I sent him a text, and I said, Jared, I would like you to write a song out of psalm one 18, specifically versus 14 to 17 for this Sunday. And I was waiting. Like, you know, you send a text and then you kind of go on what's he going to, how's he going to respond to that? Like what? This Sunday, that's kind of what I was expecting. But here's the response I got. It has said, love it, two exclamation marks. So I'm excited for our staff, the team that we have here that makes up the leadership of Clovis Christian and how God has woven us together for such a time as this. I'm blessed as a pastor to be able to actually make a ridiculous request on Monday and then actually experience it on Sunday. So I have a great joy today in not only just delivering this message, but I'm wanting to be sensitive to what the spirit is doing on behalf of the body of Christ. So what we'll experience in our time together as we move through the words. So just a warning ahead of time, if you get up to refill your coffee, you might miss out on the most important part of the service today, right? So just warning you, you'll be out there and you're going to come back in and it's going to be amazing in here. You're going to go, what happened? I totally missed out on that. So just be forewarned. Turn with me in your bibles to Mark chapter 14. I'm going to begin reading in verse 12. And our first point this morning, if you're taking notes, it reveals the preparation for the lord's supper. The preparation for the lord's supper now as we read, the disciples were actually preparing for Passover. But Jesus in this experience is going to demonstrate how he satisfies all of the purpose in the Passover, and then he's going to institute the lord's supper. So let me begin reading in verse 12. And on the first day of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb, his disciples said to him, where will you have us go and prepare for you to eat the Passover? And he sent two of his disciples and said to them, notice he said to them, only those two that he's sending. He said to them, go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him and wherever he enters, state of the master of the house, the teacher says, where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples? And he will show you a large upper room furnished and ready, they're prepared for us. And the disciples set out and went to the city and found it just as he had told them. And they prepared the Passover. So the disciples knew that this was the time to actually begin to prepare for and plan as to where they were going to enjoy the Passover together. So they go to Jesus and say, what's the plan? How do you want this to work out? Where do you want to have Passover together? Jesus, the scripture says he sent two of the disciples. And Luke's gospel also actually identifies who those two disciples were. He names them as Peter and John. Passover had all kinds of guidelines that had to be followed and a great instruction in detail and all these different elements that exodus like pointed out or that they had done for 1500 years. And so the two disciples Peter and John went to gather up all the elements and prepare the room for Passover. Passover had to be celebrated in Jerusalem. This is why they were doing this in Jerusalem. This is why hundreds of thousands of people had gathered within Jerusalem for Passover. So Peter and John after securing the room would then go to the temple and they would secure the Passover lamb that had been slain. They would gather all the elements for the full meal. The original Passover feast consisted of several elements, the roasted lamb, the unleavened bread, the dish of bitter herbs, you can read through exodus 12, to get all the details of all the elements of Passover. But the lamb reminded the Jews of the blood that was applied to the doorposts in Egypt to keep the angel of death from slain their firstborn. The bread reminded them of their haste and leaving Egypt. And the bitter herbs spoke of their suffering as pharaoh slaves. There were also four cups of wine diluted with water that they would drink throughout the process of the meal. Each of them signifying something different as they took those cups and drank together. Just a little insider information on Thursday of this week we're having a Passover Seder meal here in the church and it's a ministry of our small groups. And we only have room for about a 120 or so people in here around round tables and so all of our small groups are meeting together to celebrate Passover Seder meal. I only share that with you not to say ha ha, you can't come because that's not the point, right? You'll want you should be a part of a small group. And you'll get even some added insights and encouragement as throughout the year by being a part of a healthy group together. So it's not meant to exclude you, but we just operated that kind of through our small groups. And we're looking forward to having a wonderful, wonderful time walking through all of these specific elements to understand the fullness of Passover. The first cup that they would drink together was the cup of sanctification. And this is where God says, I will bring you out from under the burdens of Egypt of the Egyptians. The second cup was the cup of deliverance, the third cup was the cup of redemption. And the third cup is the cup that we take when we take communion together. That's the cup that was a part of the Passover meal that Jesus identified. That's the third cup that he held up when he instituted the lord's supper. That he identified as being the redemption that he provides. It's an exodus 6 where God says I will redeem you with an outstretched arm. And with great acts of judgment. What a beautiful picture of the redeeming work of Jesus, right?

"You as they flow from the lips of my husband. The smell of fresh brownies, the sound of my favorite worship man, is seeing a long lost friend, can create moments of intense joy. The truth is, I have mastered the art of finding happiness in everyday pleasures. Yet, when I first read the words, delight yourself in the lord. I was met unexpected questions. What does it mean to find a light or extreme excitement as it comes to the lord? If I can be honest for many years, how I view the lord at any given moment was based on my external circumstances. When things were going well, I was thrilled to brag on him and tell others about his goodness. Yet when things were more difficult and my expectations were met, I wonder where was the lord in this situation? Did he not see my peril or care about my struggles? And these moas, when I lost loved ones, was sickness struck my home, when Friends were no longer Friends. Year after year, I made the choice to no longer delight. After years of choosing to have joy in the lord, only when he was following my lead, the lord brought conviction. My ways were like a child who loved a pair only when it was convenient. As a mother, this broke my heart as I realized that error of being a Christian who used God for his blessings but rejected him when correction or even trials a roles. This is not delighting in the lord. Today, my prayer for you is that you find your joy in the lord. No matter what the situation looks like around you, you can make the choice to rent to him. I have found over and over that will choose to love the lord, not for what he can do. Or is doing in our life before the essence of who he is, we can't help but find delighting him. For he is the one who gave us breath in our body. He is the one who knows our thoughts and who has a plan for our lives. He is the one who died for us so that we may have eternal life. The lord is a constant. It comfort and though he is majestic enough to put the stars in the sky, he calls his friends. This, my friendship bring us unspeakable joy. May we delight in him all the Days of Our Lives. In Jesus name. Less pray. Lord, I thank you for who you are. I praise your wonderful works. For you are the creator of all yet so intimately near. Forgive me for the time that I've made you an afterthought. Teach me to come to you with the humility and the joy of a child. God show me the times when I become more excited about worldly pleasures. Then following your will. Father, I delighting you, help me to never forget just how good you are. In Jesus name, amen. Your daily prayer is a production of life audio and Salem media. "That is the revelation of the Father . Where does the Father speak? Samuel classic example, Samuel. Four times before he understood what he was supposed to do. And then you have people like Elijah, who lived in the presence of the Lord , I am sure they communed quite a bit. You know if you're in His presence, at least you're listening. You may not have a lot of questions. Because in His presence, there's no nothing amiss, if you will, it's peaceful, it's really calm, it's wonderful, place to be. I recommend it. I really do. But we used to talk about practice the presence of the Lord . Yes. If you hear the voice of the Lord and your response, He will give you the confirmation or He will show you what He's doing. But when you hear what He's saying and you act upon it, what you're talking about earlier, Lori, it's that action upon His word that were Dale's talking about where He will talk to you again. You create that relationship, you build it up. By listening and acting upon what He speaks. Right. This is critical though, what you're saying. This waiting on God and tying it into learning His voice before you will understand on how to wait on Him . I really believe that God may 1st put you through some very deep afflictions. And difficult dealings basically drives you into Him . Yeah. Out of those deep dealings though, you get this motivation to seek His face and to hear what He has to say. So it's very critical, submitting His word , to your relationships, and having it confirmed and that's the only way to have a 100%, you know, you're on the right track with the Lord . And hearing this and walking with Him . One of the things that always struck me was it seemed like Christ spent a lot of time in prayer. There was a term that I've heard for a number of years now. And that's the prayer of listening. I really think that Christ spent a lot of time doing that. His prayer was a prayer of listening. I think that is, that's something that we develop in a relationship. Yes. We learned to be quiet, settle our mind, take control of our spirit, and listen. Lord said be still and know that I am God. Today we've heard that it is crucial that we have experiences with the Lord in the scriptures and not just a bunch of head knowledge. It's these experiences with Him as the word of God that opens up a deep relationship with Him to truly hear His voice. The Lord is speaking to each one of us, are we listening? About lord cornwallis governor general of bengal. Why did he introduce permanent. Settlement of land revenue system in gold. Benaras bihar kinetic north kinetico and autism. Do you want the answer for this. Then listen to me carefully. yes dear. All lord cornwallis. He was born on thirty december. Seventeen thirty eight okay. And he was a great administrator when he arrived india. He had numerous problems the problems which already there. Before the british government main problem was corruption. We have learned this. We have understood this now. This problem was very very common and he had to fight to resolve this issue and he did this. How does understand his tenure in india was from the year. Seventeen eighty six to seventeen ninety three and introduced number of judicial reforms in different different us. All this was done to organize the administration right measure reform as i have already mentioned. The major reform introduced the land revenue system in bengal. Benaras bihar are not that north kenaka and oda was the permanent settlement. Now what was there in this sermon. He established rules so that only qualified person. Good get services for this. He prohibited the bribery system. Did not allow officials. company officials. Take the bribes. He taught he perhaps have taught like this that the company officials they were not satisfied with the salaries. So what he did. He worked to improve their salaries. All the posts in the administration was reserved for the europeans and the indians were reserved only for the low grades posts like loves right so in this way he tried to check corruption among the companies officials right in judicial system he established goats and district provinces and separate goals for civil and criminal cases with their established ton to maintain law and auto and as i have told you good salaries were being provided to the europeans so that they could not indulge themselves into the corruption or any kind of gripes. This was the initial thing which he had to sort out now. He also to fight war with mysore in the ear. Seventy nine hundred people declared war on trevon cole and here. In the year he seventy ninety eight from eighteen zero five. He was viceroy of ireland. And they're also he played important role in in suppression of irish rebellion. There in seventeen thousand nine hundred and defeated their the french invasion forces so he was a great leader great administrator and that is why he used to quickly resolve issues this is a quality which is rare and he had that so we have to remember such qualities of lord cornwallis to know more stay connected to me and to than take care of yourself and but by..

You see eyes are false forward, flat on his face, but out of the lord side spell, and he goes, damn it. Guards. I this rope. You get a bad dog. And then, since I initiated with this, I'm just gonna unleash two crossbows. Sweet, go ahead, date. His fingers are too long to tell the knots himself. Does a 20 hit? Of course. I accidentally use fears dice on that. Oh, that's cursed. I know. I'm not going to use my sneak attack yet. So that's 14. And then I will do my shop 19 to hit. 19 hits. Okay. So yeah, you poke around. Shoot him twice like you get into his chest area, where like the pauldrons aren't covering. Who did the somatics? Hello gave them up. 7 plus 17 to another 24 damage. Nice. That was my sneak attack. You shoot this dude twice, backs up. What is the meaning of this? Then let's just go with Johnny. Johnny got the higher stealth roll. Tight..

"It's a little bit. i think i'd like to know how old the author of fire and isis. Because that's a little bit like what happened. In europe after world war two and like germany looked like dresden. Looked like the surface of the moon. So a lot of so so for a like this seventy two. He has a memory at least born in forty eight three years after the war he would have been five six ten when they were still ruins. When people were still you could still see people. It was still part of being english. Oh he's not even from england. I dunno bay on new jersey. Fuck yeah oh asca. Oh i thought the whole area but the the it's based off the true story of families fighting in england though okay yeah. He added the dragons but that age. That's happening europe. That's having a london. A lot of posters just completely dragon came in in. But there wasn't imagine if there's real drag so wait hold on what's what's the different. That's go forward dot com in the middle of my investigation of the pure assessment score and its many implications. I had a conversation with a professor at duke named bill. Mayo mayo is friendly with some bond traders and he was talking with some of them one day when they mentioned that they were having difficulty with bonds issued by historically black colleges. Hp see us as they're known if you're a bond trader you worry about moving the bonds that you haven't inventory and they just mentioned you know. Hey we're having a really hard time placing these abc schools because people don't wanna hold them the way the bond market works is that an institution needs money. Let's say a university wants to build a dormitory. The cost fifty million dollars. The school can't raise all that money on its own so it goes to a wall street bank which purchases a bond a promise of repayment from the university. Then the bank breaks that bond into many hundreds and hundreds of pieces and sells those pieces to wealthy investors or insurance companies or hedge funds. So in may you. Here's that banks are struggling to sell bonds for historically black colleges he wonders is this just some apocryphal wall street story or is it. True luckily is a simple detest. This the price. The bond trader charges is called the gross spread. If it's super easy to find buyers for the bonds the gross spread is like to be low if the traitor has difficulty finding buyers spread can get quite pricey so if the bonds from black schools are harder to move than bonds from white schools. The spread should be higher. And are they yes they are may you and his colleagues compared black schools with non. Hpc us that were otherwise identical. The spreads for the historically black schools with twenty percent higher in the bond market a twenty percent difference in spreads is huge mayo and his co. researchers went one step further. They zeroed in on three states in the deep south. And you those three states were so those are louisiana mississippi alabama and. What's the difference in spread in those states. Not twenty percent thirty seven percent. May you and his colleagues have given us a scientifically rigorous measurement of just. How much of a burden black institutions face in the real world. You've put a number on reputation. What is the reputational cost of being a school. that overwhelmingly accepts and educates black kids in louisiana. The reputation cost is thirty percent. That's one way to think about it. But i would say it's the racial component of reputation. A spread is a reputation. Score isn't it. Investors don't know the precise ins and outs of all the institutions. They're asked to buy could they. There are literally hundreds of thousands of bonds on the market at any given time so the investors proceed on a feeling a feeling about how worthy and how safe and held legitimate the institution. Getting the loan. Is you see a black school and you say to yourself. I don't value that. Hp you quite as highly as the white school across town so you give the black school. A discount which is what prejudice is by the way a discount. Black life does not matter as much as the white life and who are these people imposing a discount on black schools. They're wealthy successful people who are simply checking a box. I like this bond alex when a lot. I don't like this one they are. I suspect not a whole lot different from the college administrators. Who signed a number two. There appears for the us news rankings. Every year motivated by the same unconscious biases. I like the school four point two. I like this one a lot. Four point five. I don't like this one. Two point four even though i don't really know anything about it so if you were the president of a historically black college in one of those states with a reputational discount for being black is thirty seven percent. How do you think you'd feel about your peer assessment score. I thought i'd call walter. Kimbro president of dillard university a historically black college in louisiana and someone starting to look at the formulas and dig into it. I was like this isn't a real good measurement of what we do in fact is a measurement of privilege dillard's reputation score is two point six. That's not good. You can't ever get to the top of the. Us news rankings. With a peer assessment score of two point six. Maybe that sounds defeat is but it's it's not fetus. It's realistic is realistic horrible. Living in nobody's gonna just go and say this school with all. These black people is great in their haste to compete with time and newsweek way back when maybe all. Us news did was create a system that allowed the presidents and deans of every college in the country to assign a number to their prejudice to.
