Tv's ted lonzo won for best series and it brought in three other awards as well. Like best lead actor in a comedy. That was a first emmy for jason. Today's best lead actress in a comedy though. Went to jean smart for hbo's hacks rupaul. Also made history by winning the most emmys ever by a person of color when ru paul's drag race won best competition series for a fourth straight year and cedric. 2021 NBA Free Agency: Bulls Strike Fast With Deals for Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso

"Thing long term on the bulls. I'm thinking that they might have one free agency yesterday. Because i love the lonzo signing. I love the caruso signing for them. Billy donovan is building a culture. They're the guys that can play with. Zach levine and don't forget they. They added nick which nicola which last last season the deadline the bulls are trying to make the playoffs and much like we've talked about that. The league is better when the knicks are pretty good or good. I still think the same thing from the bull standpoint as well chicago matters so and by the way we've got a couple of things we've got a cup. I mean man. There's a lot of breaking news. Just happening right now. So here's the deal. Woge breaks the story steph. Curry agrees four year. Deal two hundred fifty million dollar contract extension with the warriors so steph curry will remain a warrior for the rest of his career which is fantastic news.

The quick synopsis on Alex Caruso is he is one of the best. Guards defensively in the entire league. So the Bulls are getting a guy who can mix in with Kobe White, Zach Lavine Lonzo Ball some length with Lonzo and Zach Lavine, but also, Caruso is known as a very good defensive player. "Everyone hates van. Gundy things are falling apart and the and the whole team and so those are his four. Mba years there was an enormous here yet. So i think he's worth the risk fi due to and i will say that. I think the lakers did a horrible disservices to him and included including irvin magic johnson by the way just the way they decide that kid before and so much of it i think had to do with his father and the whole reputation of the family and has been from by all accounts she asked. I always ask players about him. And they're like he's quiet. he's funny. He fits in everywhere. He never says anything. He's you know he's not at all bombastic. There's just nothing about him that way and just think of the microscope e was under. Forget his brother who we all knew talented. It was the better of the two and all of that. He's the one that bore the brunt of all the nonsense that was that his family was enveloped in and he'll look pretty well. He really agree what you think. So the orleans is looking at a sign and trade for him if people go well those signing trade michiko. It's like why. So colby way back why i would rather i'd rather marcus smart right. Or how about this. Can i throw this at you. Gary hold onto your forehead. Admit explode god okay. What about what about charlotte. What about terry rozier. Sign and trade. Wouldn't terry rozier be good in the pelicans. Isn't that a tree that make sense and we put the ball brothers together lonzo lamelo. Why not. Why not googling. But even talk about it but i feel like if they turn lonzo. Rozier if you're gonna lose lonzo anyway very like the kind of the perfect guy to be on the pelicans right. He thinks he's a little better than he is but he is totally need. The ball can is good spot up shooter but once the ball find somebody else is going to need. The ball is a at the guard position. But if i'm the pelicans. And i'm looking at terry rozier. Do i want to bring him in. When i need to get make sure that zion gets what he needs and brandon. Ingram gets what he needs not sure. That's the point guard. I want so you marcus. Then if you're new orleans. Yeah i think if you're in new orleans that's what i would do but i i mean if the if the bull sign lonzo ball to an offer sheet you don't have to sign and trade you can just match match it. Do whatever you want with it. Yeah trade act to another team right. yeah i think. that's the more likely scenario. The bulls have way less leverage with this than i think people realized general. I don't think people realize our understand restricted free agency and signed peace. Because it's ultimately it comes down to do the pelicans would. They want kobe way back. Yeah it's like great. That's another really young player. Who doesn't index. I unhappy and who hasn't been able to stay in the floor. We're not sure. If i like them but i think ultimately may be an overqualified. Third guard could be isn't that isn't that everybody in the bulls. We don't know who they are like. I feel like that's everybody on the bulls roster like laura marketed kobe. All those guys. I think what the bulls do. 'cause i don't think they're gonna get lonzo. Ball's i think that's where schreuder lands..

"All right you mentioned lonzo and the celtics. So on friday The celtics do a couple of weird moves. They they'd so weird. They somehow weird but i actually kinda liked them so they get rid of tristan thompson. Who by all accounts don't need to go into it needed ago. Now promulgated needed period to period go period. So i got rid of him. They bring back. Christiaan sneak him into this exception for five million. Then they're able to grab josh richardson. Who was last year. Who really sucked awful. But maybe talented. Who co coached him in philly right two years ago so obviously put in word firm and they might feel like look. He's just not meant to be a catch and shoot guy next to luca you've got involve a more. He's in if this doesn't work out at least season expiring contract for us. So you have smart makes fifteen you've kristin who makes five you've lonzo. Who were thinking is in that. Twenty one twenty two first year thing and they go that way. Just think about that that lonzo ball's gonna get twenty one or twenty. Two million are based on twelve where he was twelve months ago. Just because you're talking about money and how much people get paid just. I wanted that to just sink it from go ahead. Continue the case for twenty three years old. I love him really shot the ball. Well last year i think he took eight threes. A game he was like thirty eight percent for three like. He's a legitimately above average. Three point shooter now. I think he's very good defender. He doesn't he's the ball which is really important for the celtics team. They need to bring in guys who don't need the ball. Because brown and tatum so ball dominant and i gotta be honest you. I really like him. I'm on the record. As like i really want the celtics to get him. This would be my dream for this summer. I just think he's twenty three years old wh- look at his nba career. What went well year. one lakers. It's just a disaster year to lakers. Lebron comes in decides ten days into the season. They i don't play these guys and checks out and yeah makes faces at the ball. "Disclosure. I'm a big lonzo fan. I liked him when he played for the lakers. I know the lakers didn't really want to give him up. But when anthony davis became available new orleans insisted on him. A lot of people don't know that last year lonzo shut thirty eight percent from three. I tend to root for him. I got to be a little careful here. Because i'm not supposed to talk about players. Who are under contract to other teams but unrestricted. I mean he's not unrestricted free agent. So if anybody makes them an offer. Let's say the clippers made an offer to lonzo new orleans could just match it and keeps the same by the way. It's the same arrangement. Detailing horton tekere has with the lakers. He's a restricted. free agent. So ramona having it's having it set up that way. Do you think lonzo goes back to the pelicans. If not where do you think he goes. I think he goes back to the pelicans just because he's too good of a player for them to just let walk or you know about this theory that they have two guards that they're trying to find minutes for that. They love who are both on. Rookie contracts nakano alexander walker and quincy miller are both super high on and they want to get him on the court. So if that's the case. And you already have eric bledsoe. And he's going to be a very difficult guy to move is a room for lonzo. There's room but they had. They had a choice to they had a choice of whether or not to have to trade him and they held onto him at the deadline. They had some decent offers for lonzo at the trade deadline. So i think they're smart enough to realize that you can't just let a talent like that you that you got as part of the anthony davis trade. Go for nothing. So you're not buying these reports that now. He would let him walk if he got to know that they would sign and trade if he gets a big offer and he wants to leave. I think they would do a sign and trade but other than that. I think you're much. I just you don't you. Just don't let somebody who's got that much talent who has value around the league for nothing. What about this rumor that he could end up back in los angeles with either the lakers or the clippers. Anything to that that i buy. I buy that because as you know. The clippers needed a point guard for awhile. They sort of converted. Paul george into that this year. But that's not really what he does. You think beverly probably walks you. Think reggie jackson probably walks. Yeah well i wouldn't be surprised. Reggie jackson back They can they can find some creative ways to keep and he really does like it here in l. a. He's made a lot of money. He was thinking about retiring before the season. So i don't think he's necessarily in it for the money now. If somebody throws a lot of money at him. I think he takes it but he. I like i could see the lakers. Doing something if they get creative with a sign and trade but they just don't have all that much to offer like by the way you want to give up toward talker. I don't time line for all this stuff. we're talking about. August second is when free agency opens. Is that when you would think this race starts no earlier than that. I think everything starts at the draft so restricted creating guys. I don't think you can trade do sign and trades right now but but for the upper other moves that will affect who gets in These free agents starting august second. It will all start to happen at the draft. Which is july twenty ninth. So that's pretty close. That's a few days before that. But like i said on the show the other day i think the lakers have a few things cooking. That could happen in and around the draft that then answer all your agency questions right like if they pull one or two of these things off then it kind of makes ridsdale lot more clear. They don't pull any of them off. If they stand pat then they still have a lot of questions. Answer and free agency have the twenty second pick. Is that something and i know. I'm asking you to speculate. Yeah is that something you think they hang onto or that moves as part of this thing. You're talking about whatever it is. Yeah i think they can. I think they can They can move that pick. I think that that's how it works. They also many ex. I think you have to actually make the pick for somebody that with the guy in atlanta. They did that a few years ago. As part of the anthony davis tree. Yes there's going to be a lot of moves a lot of names in the news and we're going to get answers about what the laker in clipper rosters gonna look like kawhi. Leonard had knee surgery. You still think he ops out i do. This is a back in yeah. I think that's how he makes the most money and the clippers aren't going to do anything stupid. they're they're gonna sign into the deal but But i think the only question is does he look elsewhere does he take meetings with other teams. I haven't heard anything specifically. But i just my gut tells me that he may not just be perfunctory. Then it goes back to the clippers. That maybe he does take a couple of days or something like that to explore some other options right whereas been simmons playing in the fall philly. Really yeah i think they want a lot for him. And i don't think i don't think they're going to part with him easily so the his value is not high right now and i gotta get an all star player so i just i feel like it's going to be like the hardest thing next year that he'll start there and then depending on how it goes. He's a guy right Yeah they're on. Benson is i mean. Look it did surprise me a little. The it doesn't surprise me that they would listen to offers. There was a. I think sean sean you had a report that They were looking for offers. I think who knows who calls you. Okay so let's put it that way. But.

"That also means. It's the grand. Return of buffets many casinos have reopened their self serve buffets or or at least planning to in the next week or two vegas buffets in particular are known for everything from made to order omelets to fresh pasta seafood and barbecue ribs. Do cookies mesa's favorite. It's don't cheesecake but they tend to be a little bit on the pricey side. Are you a fan of the casino style. All you can eat buffet. Swipe left or right hell. Yeah who doesn't love a good buffet. I thought buffets. Mace were gone when covid hit may never see him back the fact that they have somehow come back. I'm all for it. Yeah the cdc says they cleared buffets. They're going to be on cruise ships going to be in vegas. They're to not of center media room. Correct i'm not a big buffet guy but i will tell you as soon as the mission in in riverside their sunday morning brunch which is a buffet. I will meet mom and stepdad. Leo there for a brunch. So i'm not completely against buffets but i'm not a big buffet guy generally like in vegas. I don't go to. I think it's actually kind of disgusting people just eating so much and by the way and throwing so much food away its biggest professor. Disgusting days are not disgusting. Lindsay works times one item from each entree. That's what everybody does throw it all away. No i'm all in bring 'em let's go. I was listening to the morning. Show travis in slee this morning and they seem to both agree that with as that. You know vegas casino like the foods and never good. It's always overpriced and people take more than thirteen inch circus circus buffet plate. I never get circus. Still their mace. Or did they get rid of that. Is it still there. Yeah i'd circus. Circus is never a place that i've stayed. I've never been to a las vegas casino whatever buffet i will try one when i venture out there at some point in the next couple of months but i will say in marina del rey. Right around the corner from me. Has this place called whiskey reds the best brunch buffet ever there. You go chocolate against whiskey reds mace operating now. I'm not sure if it is now but it should be soon june the fifteenth. Everything's go back to normal all right so next one. A subgroup of college football playoffs management committee today presented a proposal to change the current four team format to a twelve team event. As things currently stand the plan would grant a bid to the six of the ten conference champions championship winners with the highest. Cfp rankings so the top the top six conference championships and then they would be joined by six more teams handpicked by acf selection committee. I won't get into the details of the seeds and all that stuff because that's way beyond this year but considering this proposal and then the current format do you guys. Are you on board with a new format that allows twelve playoff teams in the college football playoffs. Swipe bluster swipe swipe right. This is a great idea. Every year we argue about why that wide coastal carolina didn't get a chance because they went undefeated. Now we everybody gets a chance. Put him in there mason. Nobody's i don't care if if you get the top twelve teams in the country playing a playoff over three or four week period. Nobody's not watching that. Yeah i have come around on this. Because i'm sick of alabama clemson in ohio state. I'm absolutely sick of them. They're all gonna get in any way to win their way into the final razzie if they went. Hit the more games. They play the more likely. They are to be upset. John because the way that they have the setup is they would take the six top ranked conference champions and then they would pick sixteen so for whatever reason alabama ohio state clemson if they don't get in and they don't because they'll all be in their all they're going to get picked anyway. Sure there ain't no matter. What more games to win the title instead of just two. That's true double the game. So we're gonna get increases the opportunities for an upset. If you have a good team you want to see him. Play other teams. So let's just say this is one of what could be a few different proposals. Would you guys be more willing to just right now. Yes let's do it or would you rather wait. Maybe even if it takes a year or two to hear what the other potential proposals would be no this. This works for me. I can beat this thing to death. It's like it's like replay could ask from seventeen different angles. This a good plan. let's go with it. I am in agreement good plan. let's go for. Apparently this will not take effect until the twenty twenty twenty two twenty three season at the earliest. Of course they're not doing. We can't do anything quick around right. That's if they approve it right away so if there are any other people if it doesn't you know they don't agree to it. They want to see more proposals than you could be. Potentially pushing back any changes another year or even two. So i'm with you guys. I would just vote on this one right now and if you need to change down the road changes yup exactly all right so next one in twenty eleven. Jeff be those the billionaire. Ceo of amazon paid nothing in federal income. Texas can you believe that that same year when his net worth was valued at around eighteen billion dollars he filed for and received a four thousand dollar tax credit for children so both in two thousand seven and then the two thousand eleven these those paid nothing in federal income taxes because he lost more money investing then he earned from other income he made so little in twenty eleven according to the. Us government's tax code that he was able to file and receive a tax credit for one thousand dollars for each of his four children so his net worth is largely tied to his stock. But that doesn't affect an individual's tax bracket until you sell you sell it. That is correct and the revenue has reported as income. So technically this is completely legal. But considering jeff bezos is worth billions of dollars literally the richest man in the world. Does this change your opinion of him swiped luster swipe right. You know this happens. All the time elon. Musk didn't pay any tax elon. Musk didn't pay either. Somebody is michael bloomberg skit. Somebody explained this to me a long time ago. The tax code is made for people who do business if you have a big company that makes a ton of money and a good tax attorney you not paying squat. So this doesn't support mesa's this surprise you doesn't surprise me at all. It surprises me. Surprise me the jeff bezos. Actually the jet got refund right. How filed for the refund for the tax income credit craze for the crisis. The world's richest man or one of them and he got a refund a lot of us. Don't get refunds. it's not. There's there's obviously something completely wrong here with. The federal income tax for people in the billionaire range billionaires should have to pay taxes billionaires are have more than all of us. I mean elon. Musk jeff bezos michael bloomberg. George soros carl icahn even warren buffett. These guys should all be paying taxes. We're paying them. Why aren't they because they have really good smart tax attorneys who find the loopholes and exploit them. Yeah i down. Those loopholes need to be closed. Post-haste find them and close them because those guy or or do this thing. This billionaire tax that they've been talking about do a billionaire tax. I mean they've got the dough so come. A little i know is that it makes me very very sad and depressed to know that little me and my little old income you know day-to-day to day struggles. Get you an ira money. And if i don't pay that they're going to come after me and garnished my wages and this and that but yet the richest man on the entire planet got money back. That's so disheartening to me. There's just so messed up crazy. Yeah they gotta do something when all that information got leaked public got. Some sort of hacker. Group wanted everybody to see this. These guys didn't pay taxes and it's good..

"Way this is kind of a tangent on what you were talking about. Did you see haute shohei ohtani stats project out to for the rest of the year. I did not. He's supposed to be keeps going on pasties going he's gonna hit fifty home runs and have an era a little above three. If he does that he wins mvp regardless of where the angels finish right. Right i mean that's unprecedented. No it's unprecedented. It's freak of nature. It is as long as he stays healthy and he continues at this rate. I just think we've never see. We haven't seen anything like them in one hundred years so yeah i think he is the most valuable player because of the oddity of amd because he would he does. I mean they're not gonna win anything again this year i think there a couple of games under five hundred and six games out of first in the west right now so they're not gonna win anything but shohei ohtani without question. That is a crazy set of skills. He's got a crazy set of skills. I don't wanna play one more thing for you actually. This we talked last hour about dennis. Schroder who is kind of a lightning rod for controversy amongst lakers fans. He had a pretty good year had a good year. At some point maybe back in february turned down what was reported to be an eighty four million dollar extension and then game five disappeared in our playoff series in the first round against phoenix including an overnight shot in the in game. Five of that series. So you suggested. And he's a. He's a restricted free agent. I'll suggest would you rather have lonzo ball or dennis. Schroder would rather have lonzo ball or dennis schroder john. I don't think that's question. you can. S necessarily lines a restricted. Free agent. so i can. I can pose the question. i. I don't think it's a sure was better than lonzo. During the regular season but lonzo might have more upside. He's younger is younger. And i think it's a debate. I don't think it's it's like an obvious answer either way. No i don't either. Eight seven seven seven ten. Espn because lonzo himself is a divisive figure. Right some fans love lonzo and say. Hey you know we see the. Ps jason kidd. He's he's developing and other people say he was a bust he was just a bust. I think the answer is somewhere in the middle by the way. I don't think he's a bust and i don't think he's jason kidd. He is definitely not jason kidd. Which is the cop. Right right And last year just for record sake scored fifteen points a game with five rebounds and six assists so fifteen five and six with a steel and a half a game three point shooting thirty eight percent so you can live with thirty eight percent. That's a career high for him. By the way yeah. Yeah so. I think it's a fair debate which guy you would rather have. I don't know. I don't know you can get lonzo though if you make an offer to lonzo in the hornets street are the pelicans just match it. If they choose to. Then you're right back to square one right as you pointed out. They've got two other guards that they really like a lot. They're both may not match eight. Seven seven seven ten..

"Bring it to the hills toyota today for an instant. Cash offer pointy hills. The house of yes. Right john one side of the. I stand with the jazz one side of the coin. The jazz win tonight. Other side of the coin. The other team wins. You win. head heads. It is hedge. I will defer. No advantage comes with that. Is you know all right. This will shock. You come as a surprise to everybody. But i had a weak moment last night and i ordered doughnuts from decays in santa monica. That is shocking right. So john i love. Donuts remain. Give donuts to a homeless guy. You love them so much. Correct rank order your three favorite donuts right. The best known of all time and this is really not a debate. If you if you come back at me. I just think you don't understand. Donuts is a chocolate eclair along donut with the chocolate filled with custard with yellow cream. Seattle like the yellow cream. Yellow or white doesn't matter just fill the thing with custard put the chocolate on top best donut created of all time now as i am a student of donuts because i went to ucla and there used to be a place in westwood called stands donors. The pandemic finally took it down. It was open for sixty years but stands us to make these apple fritters. That were unbelievable. So that would be number two and then three and this is a something that i kinda had to be convinced of but i do think that crispy cream hot donuts right. You know the glazed donuts right out of the oven or pretty damn spectacular so that would be my three. How about you well. My number one is also cream-filled doughnut but it is a bavarian. I like the yet white cream. Yeah that's fine instead of yellow. We're we're going for the same thing there. I love a good crawler kind of boring curlers and then the most underrated donut of all. Time is the old fashioned. I love a good old. Wait a minute. that's just a cake. Doughnut with nothing on it. Kate donut covered with glaze. And stuff on top. So frigging good. Those are the three or hey. What are we missing man. I like the chocolate bar. chocolate bar. Yeah the chocolate bar is clear without the feeling. You've got to put the filling in getting. You're not getting the bang for your. And i'll i'll take the filling april bar overrated. What aol maple maple down with maple out and then just regular plain donut with the little chocolate peanut on top of it off boop cake. Donuts or underrated. I'd rather have a cake. Don't it then then light some fancy thing pay to what are we missing. I would go chocolate eclair with custard not the puffy very dream right correct and then placate donut and then strawberry frosting sprinkles like the little. Poofy no no. I like the glazed doughnut with frosting but the frosting does strawberry wasn't girly donut. When i was my absolute worst we were ordering verion cream. Donuts which are the the white puffy ones filled with white cream and we were getting a side of cream and they would send a little container of just the ask disgusting. I just want you to take a bag of sugar or it down your throat. That would be i mean. No wonder you can't get your weight under to donut into the side cream. It was perfect. It was just so nasty container like winning. Turn into bastard. It's to you all right morning in america column this week. Peter king makes the case. That rams lineman aaron donald will go down as the best defensive lineman ever. Here's kings argument in twenty nineteen the nfl released. Its hundred year all time team. There were seven. Defensive tackles on joe greene randy. White buck buchanan bob lily allen page merlin olsen john randall only white and lily were named all pro more than donald. They were named seven times. Donald already has six all pro seasons and he's only thirty king points out that donald his name to all pro twice more in his career. He'll be the most honored defensive tackle in nfl history and he'll have done it against the most competition in thirty two team league against a lot of all time greats by the way donald zor pro. Football focuses top-rated defensive interior grade for six straight years. Here's my question. Do we appreciate aaron. Donald as a star in this town as much as we should you know i think. We developed a deeper appreciation for him during the playoffs. This last year when we went to green bay and aaron donald was not himself. he couldn't couldn't stand a field right. We saw with the rams defense which was the best defense in football all year long. We saw it. They were like without a healthy aaron. Donald and i don't think from this point forward. We can overstate the importance of him. We have to understand a big deal. Isn't what an impact. He hasn't an honest answer to this question. If donald walked into the studio right now would you know who he was. Yeah yeah yeah. I you think that's the case with most people. I don't think most people i mean. He's a freakish physical specimen you know. He was an athlete right. No us athlete. Would he be recognized. I of walk through l. a. Live without being noticed. I think he could. I think he probably could. But and honestly i think most guys that wear helmets aside from quarterbacks could not be recognized like do you think leading rusher only derrick henry. You think he's recognized a lot i would. I'd recognize derrick henry but you had the average person it's a fair price. I think most people would recognize a football player. Fisher would they know who it was. Would if aaron donald walk through la live would fan say. Would people say. Hey there's aaron. Donald i would say the average sports fan would be interesting. I just i just think we gotta show this guy some more love. We're looking at maybe the greatest ever at his position and he plays in our town. He's only thirty. Yeah that's pretty amazing right. It's to you. Peter king question the aaron rodgers dramas stretching on and on. But peter king has an idea about how to deal with it. He says this the packers commit to trade rogers pacifying the angry quarterback but the deal would not happen till next spring rogers in turn to give the packers one more season in exchange for being allowed to transition to a new team before the twenty twenty two draft. What do you think. It's a flawed theory for a couple of reasons..

"Today's champions league final. We saw chelsea beat manchester city by one goal to nail says in the first half proving to be the difference between. That's a side as chelsea under thomas to co. Go on and win. The second champions league practices such open. Start this game. It was great sometimes. These finals the teams cancelling each other out. This quite we all to say yeah. I don't think any that even took in these players himself would have understood the city. We're going to have the bulk of the possession. Not that wasn't gonna worry jokes in look at chelsea in the positive side to start and sort of meander to losing coach. But you've got to take off to this club a abramovich and has people do not mess around. They made unpopular decision with some and sacking. Frank lampard a guy who had been an amazing servant to that club was a player but they felt they had to make a decision. This is a club just makes decisions right or wrong. You may agree or disagree made it. It was sorry cutthroat but it took her available. Let's go out. Let's get right experienced coach track record and he combined and i don't think i've seen a managed land the squads as fast as he. You think of all the changes. He made the first half a dozen game. Gina Brown on the Invisibility of Women Living With HIV

"Jump right in so you found out that you were living with hiv about twenty seven years ago and at that time how much did you know about. Or how familiar were you with hiv. My knowledge of hiv was gay guys. I remember watching the evening news talking about it even before. They had a name for it and they were calling in grid and gay plague and but it only impacted gay people right so you wind. Gay you okay. I'm good or even if if you were a lesbian. They weren't talking about hiv and lesbians. They were talking about hiv engaged. Men so you still feel like you good. No one was talking about it with women only knew what i saw on the evening news. I remember once watching the guys go up to capitol hill and they on stretchers wheelchairs. And i'll walk. I was so scared. And they had a sign and the sign says silence was dead and stay with me although she is. Do you mind telling the story of when you were told about your diagnosis. Because i think it's an amazing example of what not to do. Oh my goodness dad. Day is seared in my mind. I think if i got alzheimer's i remember that day. I i got the phone call it. And then she'll phone call on april fools day. Hey prefers and to answer the phone. Lady a mask with jean. O'brien i said speaking. And she said hey. This is miss lonzo from charity hospital. And i laughed and i laughed because it was april fool's day and i thought it was one of my friends clam joke this lady. She finally convinced me that she was really from the hospital. And she said we need you to come in. We need to talk to you about one of your test results. And i said okay and and when i went the door was open. "To the pelicans new orleans lonzo ball love him or leave him leave him. I think a lot of return for lonzo ball. And i i gotta tell you. I'm really impressed with all the talk. We've been having about lamelo ball lonzo. Ball's men baldwin him shooting the ball well from the three point line. He's not really playing. His position stands got him sort of three indeed settings threes. Chris i on your. I can pick and roll like okay. Zion's carmelo no lonzo ball is the karl malone and john stockton karl malone what the hell down world but it works. It works the upside down any can defend. Yeah leave him. Yeah that's what i think. He fits with the knicks. Because we talked about you talk about random about how well you know how hard air coats and commitment to the defense side of all you have to get a certain type of store star in new york. He's a guy that won't be afraid of coming in and do a little hard working in committing to both sides of the ball quickly which you know. Obviously well his dad prophesized already. He prophesied before but now we just gotta deal with him stats next.

Rossini lonzo has breaking news out of kansas city. Diana what are we have. Yeah adam schefter. Just broke at the kansas city chiefs have now made to gigantic cuts. Both of their tackle. Starting left tackle eric fisher and right tackle jeff schwartz. These two are key players on this offensive line. We know that they didn't play in the super bowl. Obviously eric fisher tours achilles right before so he was unable to play in it and jeff fisher was really working hard. Excuse me jeff. Shorts was really working hard to come back and he said on instagram himself that he was going to be one hundred percent ready to go for this upcoming season. We talked last week all about this week. Being a really difficult week we called it. A massacre at least one coach told me that. And that's what it is. Look at what. The kansas city chiefs are doing off of line that we knew were struggling in the super bowl because they didn't have those two guys no longer on the team. Now

Zion Williamson, Lonzo Ball, Pelicans Hold off Donovan Mitchell, Jazz for Win

"We are back on. Get up and jay. Williams made his way to take a look at the game of the night last night. A good one between the jazz. And the pelicans and this one was all about ziad. Look at him. Going right equity go back just constantly challenging rudy gobert. He gets his shot blocked more than any other player in the league. But it doesn't matter because it's going to finish at the rim. He had fifteen points in the third quarter. Zion did look at them continuing here and just taking a straw once again. He loves eternal right shoulder. That's his patented move. Twenty-six ten last night for zion who was really emerging clear in his second season. Well let's take you to where this game is decided thirty seconds ago jazz are down by one. And here's the big sequence. J. will often miss from donovan mitchell. Donovan mitchell mrs baruch. I don't know if i call that over to bat call rudy gobert. That just much taller. But since i did it take another look at it here. That's go bear. He does get called for over the bag. Zion would make too so the pelicans of a three point lead in. Here's the final shot. Not a great look that the utah jazz get off. Zion gets the rebound josh. Hart gets uncontested dunk. And that is all she wrote. The pelicans get the win. One twenty nine one twenty four and again as i on finishing with twenty six points. Ten boards five assists. Joining anthony davis as the only players in new orleans history with game with those numbers before turning twenty one years old. They will play again tomorrow night

Quantum technology and implications for security in todays computer infrastructure

"Welcome to the cybersecurity weekly podcast. I'm jay lewis podcasting from singapore today joining us today. We have a very special guests from switzerland who is based in zurich. And he's a doctor khumalo. Got the donnie. Who is the security researcher. We've could ask security so thank you very much for joining us today jane. I'm very happy to be here with you today. To be honest to it's quite difficult. Also for ricardian super announced. So don't worry about that. So so the first question. I think many of our listeners will be quite keen to know is is quantum computing a high. Because when you read the news and media nowadays we see a lot of investments that have been announced by governments for example the us national science foundation and the department of energy announced. I think with more than one billion over. The next five years in quantum information systems and russia and germany also not far behind announced close to seven to eight hundred million investment china as well spending time billion on the effort. In the private sector's google and ibm are also spending in excess of one hundred million and even bangs like j. p. Morgan is also looking at developing quantum lonzo banking but on data hen. Also some in saying that quantum states are not reliable stable or quite understood well enough to replace the traditional classical computers and some believe that they will never be able to do so. So my question to you is is quantum computing a hype well All these people you mentioned are very smart so if they spend all this money it must be true right now. Kidding apart we have seen tremendous tremendous advancements in this technology in the in the latest ears. So just put it into perspective. So people started discussing about quantum computing. Already more than fifty years ago but it became interesting. I would say nineteen ninety-four with the discovery your applications for cyber security now. At the beginning people were thinking. Okay this is something very interesting from a theoretical point of view. It will never be real. You know it's it's kind of Would be something like Science fiction like however then after that we have seen continues continues progress on the on the research and development and we especially in the last few years we have weakness a situation from you know we can be really controlled. One beat of quantum information to prototypes. That are actually working. So they are still prototype so they are still not powerful enough to tackle Real world problems. But i wouldn't call it to hype this point so from my personal point of view. The trend is quite clear. So you mentioned the difficulties. In controlling information and the related technology so from from a theoretical perspective the technologies well-understood now. There is engineering challenges into building. Something that is working but this is the case we any brand new technology. I mean justice I transistors. They were big bulky. They were barring city You remember the famous quotes like sixty four. Kilobytes of memory should be enough for an anyone. That's right so like every new technology. There is challenges. So what i see is that from a technological point of view the the tuition is progressing much more rapidly than many expected to ten years ago. Now the question. Everybody's asking his okay. But when are we going to have computers. That are not prototypes anymore. That are something that can solve real world problems My impression is that we are very close to the point but there is a difference in what you consider useful because a lot of people say like okay when we'll quantum computers break cryptography. Well i i think that's not a good measure of progress for quantum computer because quantum computers can do much more than that.

What's going on with the New Orleans Pelicans?

What's going on with the New Orleans Pelicans?

"This year's deputy f team the new orleans pelicans. I don't know what baker this team you can catch them on any given night and it's a completely different experience than the last night. I don't know if the players make sense together. Actually i'm pretty sure they don't. I don't really know what the overall philosophy is. I don't know if they're trying to be a playoff team if they're trying to be rebuilding. I'm just constantly confused and there are some optimism because they want a couple of games around people here they go here. Zion and then they get killed last night by the bulls and have one hundred thousand breakdowns. And i guess my first question to you is the pelicans what the fuck you. How many exclamation points can we tack onto that. Wt fd think. But i was hoping you could answer this question. Because i think you're spot on in that it's so much depends your view of this team on when you catch them even just like what stage in the season. You caught them because for a minute. It looked like they were going to live up to their personnel and be a tough minded offensive team. Scrounging out offensive rebounds to get points and just kinda struggling on that in because they're spacing issues the script has completely flipped. And now this is all of a sudden very competent offense. I think park has really driven by brandon. Ingram is i ion williamson. They're making that part of it work but the defense. Jesus christ i mean it is. There is inconsistent defensively as really any team out there. Yeah i would say other than brooklyn. It's the team that's most likely to give up one hundred forty on any given night to any team. That knows what they're doing. I so if you actually look at their stats and you haven't been watching that much and you look at the stats and you look at williamson in ingram and all right. Those guys are having good years pretty efficient. And then you look at lonzo and you look at bledsoe. Lonzo shoot thirty seven percent from three so she and forty percent so going into the season like well. Their guards can't shoot. They're not going to be able to have enough space. Well their guards are actually shooting. Okay but then. When i watch everybody together. I don't have a five-man line-up that i liked like yesterday. They're playing Kyra lewis with He he got a little more run and he's really interesting. Rookies really fast. He's little darren foxy and gave them an energy that i was like. Well maybe this. Maybe i would like this version of the pelicans more. If fast you know now unleash sign a little bed. Go up and down a little bit more. But i still don't know who the other two teammates would be with cairo. Lewis design and branding. And i guess the fundamental question for me is do zion and brandon. Ingram makes sense together on a team. That's actually trying to win the title. I think they make sense on offense but the question was i on really broadly. As who are you going to put the five that's gonna make up for all. He doesn't do defensively right now. That's always been my issue with the idea of playing small and we are putting him at the five his rotations is. Aren't there really the pelicans as a team. If i were an opposing coach. I would say this is a team. We can beat him rotation every they are. Pass away from defensive breakdown every time out on the floor and keep moving the ball. You keep doing what you're supposed to do they will they will mess up in a whether it's undersized guy in the corner doesn't quite rotate over all the way. Jj radic or josh. Hart they try hard. They do what they can. But they're not equipped to be helped rotation defenders. If a guy like zion isn't going to be one so i mean i'm i'm kinda bullish on the anger rooms ion depot in general but i am really struggling to see how you put together those lineups. I can see how they kind of got into this conundrum where they clearly wanted to have some veterans early. Some veterans fell into their lap in terms of what was available and trying to get some pics and make their other moves but long term. It's a weird team to build with. And then you get lonzo into this conversation to and what they want to do with him. It's it's kind of messy.

Business Lessons with Michael Teoh

"Michael is served fortune. Five hundred companies across forty one countries. Michael take a minute and filling for the tidbits about your law. Thank you so much andrew into all of you listening to this podcast and watching our interview right now lonzo doctrine that's a piece greeting from where i'm from kuala lumpur malaysia nestled in the heart of asia. Just in between singapore and thailand. A little bit tidbit about me is that i'm very grateful. Where during one of my productivity trainings. That i deliver to leaders around the world. It happened in malaysia. On one fine day. Web president barack obama actually visited my training. The president came for half an hour and it left me pleasantly surprised. Though i was shocked and i didn't know what to say for the next one minute. It was an awkward silence but the president gave his signal that i could carry on and then i carried the session on for the next thirty minutes and then the president came up took the stage gave his speech and we had a great time to connect with each other he gave a very very kind testimonial to the work that i was doing for the valla people because at the end of the day andrew really. I believe it's people like us many hardworking people out there watching this interview right now. Who's listening in. We are the ones that make the world goes round. We are the ones that put food on the table and we are the ones that really the movers and shakers many of us unsung heroes again. Thank you again andrew. And that's one of the reasons why i wanted. I was so excited to agree to be given this opportunity even to appear on your show again. Thank you andrew fantastic. You know. it's an interesting thing. Michael that as a financial guy. A lotta times. I spent my and i've spent my years during the performance of companies. And you know what. I've come to learn over. The years is that financial success has to do with two things number one the leader of the company if it's a bad leader in a bad direction that they choose. It's very hard to have strong. Financial success true so number one is the leader and the number two thing. is that what i've learned. In my opinion you don't need superstars. You need good qualified people but what you need is coordination amongst the management team. That's if you have a good leader and coordination amongst the land management team. That is the secret sauce. And so for all those people listening out there. If you think you're gonna find it in a financial statement. It's not there. Because remember as i always teach in my teaching of people in management i always say and particularly to my finance students finance adds no value. And what i mean by that is that finance is a mirror it is a reflection it is a way. It is a feedback mechanism for management team to judge the impact of their decisions. So i like people to understand particularly financial people. I know a lot of financial friends. Listen to this podcast. I want financial. People always keep in mind. That finance is a supporting function. Just as much as human resources and others and if you go into business only with a focus on finance you'll never get there but if you go into business with focus on management leadership strategy in building a team. That works together. It's unstoppable spot on andrew spa and also. I think you know the other thing about i. I often say to small and medium-sized businesses. Never fear giant businesses. Yeah they are so messed up. They can't easily coordinate. The activities of their management team and of the different business units a very difficult thing to do and they've also fallen prey to the the idea of. Kpi's in the sense that everybody has a key performance indicators that they're pushing and all the sudden you have everybody working hard in their own area but few people thinking about how to coordinate that effort and that's why the coordination of the management team is what really can said a small medium sized business apart and make an impact anyways. Those are those. What's your i mean. You've you've done a lot with large as well as small and medium-sized businesses. What are some of the takeaways. Let's just say there's there's listeners here to do have small and medium-sized businesses. What are some of the things that you've learned over the years. I believe one of the things. Andrew that i've just had the fortune to work with is with fortune. Five hundred companies as you mentioned across forty one countries and i agree with you spot on and you mentioned some of these large companies. They have a lot of challenges when they're not coordinated or even if the global headquarters is shoes a directive but when it comes to a localization part if they do not work or respect local partners to work with it doesn't work and one thing i find having coach one hundred fifty. Sme's during this pandemic because it is during this time where truth be told andrew if you would ask me. Is it my first preference to work with sms. Truth be told. It's not reason being because during this pandemic when it hit malaysia we ran into a lot now immediately all out. Huge corporate clients decided to freeze training. Funds decided to freeze employees development funds. And i realized that s my business was suffering yet. I didn't wanna give up so what i felt was. Hey if the big boys or the big corporates are not able to pay me. Where else can i bring my company. Where else can pivot. And where else can i add tremendous value. "Jersey's he's going to hang in our rafters at staples right Haha yeah good luck with that so you're going to have to live up to magic and then Your Dad's painting your target get bigger and bigger because you're better than Steph curry already put Steph curry on the ucla go to the sweet sixteen Golden State and they win the title really okay good good luck with that okay so look I realized that the Bible says honor thy Father and mother but what if Thi- father other does not honor the right? Did he really honor you. He took advantage of you us and now it's time for you to push back and stand up in say I've had enough. I am the fifty one percent here and look look. I don't advocate gate this but you've gone through these things in your life. I'm just going to tell a quick story. My my father was just a bad guy who did everything in his power to make me fail in. When I was seventeen years of age I I finally stood up because he was very abusive and I just said No? If you come any closer again I'm going to swing and he came and I swung. I decked him and it was easy because he was drunk drunk so I'm not proud of it but it was the turning point of my life. I became a man at that moment and I said I'm out of here. I'm going onward and up you. Oh you got to leave it at that point once you once you get into a conference one yeah confrontation and I've always told my kids I say look. I'm always going to be dead me. I said I want you to be my child and but I want you to stay on the child's place but once you step to that and you feel your own my level then we're gonNA have a problem okay skip I would never I would I would never ever be disrespect to my mom but my mom wrong. I'll tell us she's wrong with you. Go out to all right and I think there's a way that you can go about it. In in Lonzo is trying to be respectful thank you can he backed off at the end of the growth. We saw in deferred. He's speaking like knocking. Speak my mind. Could you not hear what I gotta say and I don't WANNA speak my mind and then it goes to it takes a really hard turn to the lift. It becomes something that really should never never been and so. That's the hardest thing skip because I've always I'm very respectful of my mother and my grandmother because they raised me I can I can never even imagine my grandfather my migrant. My uncles were grown when my GRANDPA listen call whatever timing goal the comment not just the way it was in our communities but there's only there's only so much that a person can take before. You say you know what I tell you what this is what I'm GonNa do. I'm about to here yeah. You have the troop you triple beat you with it as you. I'm GonNa go and I'm going to do my thing. I'm call NYC McCall Adidas Puma whomever goal overseas and give me one thing I will do my own thing because clearly it. It only matters what you say. It doesn't matter what I say. It doesn't matter what I think so since you WanNa have it your way I will let you have it your way and I'm GonNa go. Do My thing that way. We we can still be father-son okay because you take a one point five million dollars in you made. It seemed like it was nothing like that. You still don't care to your credit. You you challenge sitting please. I mean my son wouldn't move five hundred dollars. That's a lot of money to him especially because he made it yeah. I'm like you got your health and all that but like dad. That's willing good but you have to understand. I worked hard for that money if someone took it from me that I trusted the and I think that's hurt Lonzo more than anything. He said his dad you know he's been in his life since he was sixteen. That was someone they broke bread together. You can eat and we did things together you they. You betrayed my trust in them for some reason Labar can't get that through his A. N. Y. Lonzo would be upset with them. I just I don't get it either. In then Lonzo did sit still and take the fact that Lavar took a shot at and he was doing it just through analogy. Hey what if I said I'm going to change your name to what was it Alfonso Affonso because you've been damaged goods well where you can't change it and then he grown now he can along with the shot of damaged goods came across between the lines to me and I'm reading in but it came across as Lavar a tough guy from compton it and saying to his son you've been weak the last two years you've been hurt too much ends you played soft too much okay and even though he's doing it through the analogy the of the damage brand right. I didn't like it and I hope Lonzo sleeps on it and says you know what it's time for me to become my own and he's got the greatest break of his career. He's going to New Orleans. He can be the alley oop Yep. It's perfect. He can become the Stockton walked into a potential malone right John Stockton Karl Malone and Peyton and Sean Yeah like that okay you have a chance to start freshen Russian Game Kinda remind you gave payment with a defensive player of the year very good yeah even more apt to assist you could score average twenty every twenty points of time so that all by that that great situation okay it is a great situation under a very good general manager who I think will continue to put put together a very good team around those two. I like. I like L. DO I. I always I've known him for a long time. It's a great place for Lonzo to start start over in fact he's one number two. I will root for speaking of that other guy. I have that number yeah. They don't call this guy number two but like to do that skill. They had to do it ahead to do to get away the UCLA. It turns out the limitation..

"Who is one of my favorite players in the draft and basically, related to Isaac Lee by proxy, because he's SJ's cousin. Absolutely. And so they're very much of the same build and similar types of players in that you might not trust them yet to be the primary guy at point guard but is someone who can be a secondary. Facilitator who can shoot the basketball and who projects to be a pretty good defender. And so that's another guy that they have alongside drew holiday, Lonzo ball who can do those things. And in the modern MBA. You can take as many of those guys as you can and put them on the floor together, and they've got cap space, like they could go out there and cord a free agent or to supplement this team and for reasons because I'm a terrible host. I a guy who just had on the program, Dan Devine. Don't call him, Danny or Daniel just wrote a piece called Zion era, pelicans may be closer to competing than you think I didn't for some reason, ask him about that piece. But I will however, ask you about it. Do you buy that because I kind of do I look at this team and I go. Wow. They really rebooted this thing quickly on the fly and I don't know necessarily if they'll be in the playoff picture next season because there's a whole bunch of teams and it's wide open in the Western Conference, but I am very confident that they will be at the very top of my league pass rankings. Right. I think they'll be competitive from the get-go. You're looking at two of the best on ball off ball defenders in the back court positions at, you know, in drew Holiday Inn Lonzo and Zion the thing about him that kind of gets swept under the rug. Is that she projects to be an elite defender as well? Well, there aren't that many people who take up as much space in the paint. But also his instincts on just being guy who jumps into passing lanes. You don't see guys that big jump in passing and have that type of timing and coordination, he's truly truly, like a one of one player, we're never going to see another guy like him. And if he comes even close to that level of, you know, the potential that he showed a Duke, this seems a competitor. You mentioned his body type. Is there any concern because he is so young? And because he is already so big that, you know, couple of donuts in the wrong direction, and he ends up thick to seize on the like too much like, like how, how worried would you be about that? And especially being in New Orleans where yeah, they got great food great food to eat. I would love to be down there. You know. It's all kinda like stick to your ribs, type food. He had been Hayes alone. Yary danger. Not you're not getting many salads out there bows, as Justin vary. Dear editor and my, my office mate has told me ain't too many salads, a lot of muscle atas like that sounds great poboy us now all of a sudden, I want him to just go that route and go like full Ray Felton and just give it up. I, I don't know. I feel like possibly this first year. He, he could probably stand to lose a few lose a few pounds just to just to kind of see what the rigors and the pace of the NBA is, like, obviously the more weight you have on your body. The more pressure, you're putting on your knees and and whatever else. And honestly, his knees are probably the most valuable asset in the league right now. Yeah. So and as we said he has an unique gate or watching him during the draft show that you and I did KO see, and he sort of like it's not a hobble. It's a little bit of a Mosey..

"Are you breaking news daily? Jacoby. Not that mean. That's what I would do Levin would give in seven for four in Lonzo ball. An Lonzo ball Levin and seven foreign ball. That's what I would do interesting. Is that going to happen? We'll see. But that's what I would do. He didn't deny anything. They get any kept repeating. That's what I would do translate that for us that feels like there's something to that. And we you know we talked about last week because there were smoke around that. And when the, the pelicans and the Lakers, did their deal. Everyone's wondering why the bulls were a third party to I'm gonna stay firm though with my thoughts on having trading for Lonzo ball trading away shooting trading four Lonzo ball and having the fourth pick which if you're going to have the fourth pick, you would assume you would trade for to get Darius garland. So then why would you also train for point? It feels very redundant rare. So that makes me feel like they would trade for per over something and pick him with the fourth and go along the ball. The Lonzo ball thing I've warmed up to just a little bit just because I do think this bulls roster like needs something I don't think it's long ago, but it needs something I think there's, there's such a like, if a bunch of nice players and market and to find, you know. To maybe take a swing expenses with one of these guys whose tied drastic last couple years, I can see the reasoning behind that, but going up to four and then getting Lonzo ball seems so crazy to me. You know what it will happen? They will actually I just talked myself into exactly what will happen. Jalen rose, confirmed it and guard packs in their draft strategy confirmed as well. We know that they were fans of Lonzo coming out of college so maybe they everything, right? That's how you get Chris dumb that votes for providence to detectable is not a good pro, and they say, well, we loved him come out of college straightforward. It's crazy that they don't update their and I'm not saying Lonzo stocking dramatically fallen, but you see what it is. And I told gave you guys this line last week. But I love saying it over and over, because it makes you feel like an insider, but it's a maker mislead and so you have long ago balls your point card. You can't score. You can't you three he and he's a great passer, and he's a really good defender. But like he's not, you know what I mean? You can't you can't try out up on guys. You can't spread the floor. I know Burt marketing had anything. I don't I don't like. I'm not warm to that concept of that being, you know, highly likely either, do they believe that they can play. With garland and Lonzo ball in the same back court. I mean that, that would be interesting. But again, like I don't know if you have this. I don't like you have two guards and neither of them is a plus plus shooter. I feel like that's not a recipe for winning in the NBA today. The one thing I will say they will throw in on the pro side of Lonzo ball coming to Chicago if that were to happen. I think I think lavar ball, just move into caps house rights and just be hanging out all the time, like he would he would be on every, I think we would get before ball on like the cubs post game report, as well. He you know, it's funny because now Kappa soured on him. You know, he was he twice right away. He challenged him to a coaching contest during one of those appearances. And then now all of a sudden now he doesn't wanna talk to lavar ball again. We can rekindle that, that I think that has to be part of the trade, I think it has to be written in that he lavar ball has to be sitting next to cast for all, you know, on the field at Wrigley for X amount of pre game shows before the cops. That would be that's the new captain company. Oh, yeah. Yes. Speaking of Wrigley..

"No, no think there was any way they do the trade, the number on it, or I think Lonzo or in growth, starting Lonzo Ingram and the number four, correct. And I think everything else got thrown in later as just like how desperate are you to get this straight done? And the these are the parts of the deal that if this goes, well we worry about it. And if it goes poorly, you'll, you'll harp on those details the big short term thing is, is this idea of when the trade gets executed, and whether or not the Lakers have the max base. So initially, I thought they had the max space, and then it was like, oh, we'll, maybe they could. Wait till June, July thirtieth. No, whoever has the number four pick whether it's New Orleans or a team they trade, the four pick to that player's gonna wanna plan summer league. Right. Which is like right around July six so. So he couldn't play in summer league for like that number four pick couldn't have played in summer league for the Lakers. Right. It's not like the whoever the Lakers are going to make the number four pick. Right. The trade can't they're gonna make the pick for whoever is, is holding the number four there'd be in New Orleans or a team that they traded to right. So it's that player is kind of in limbo. Can't really join either New Orleans of the other teams. Twenty-six hats, he's going to get a Lakers out on draft night, and it's going to be weird white even do a conference. Call. Very strange. It's actually happened somewhat like somewhat like this before, but it was different circumstances. So Andrew Wiggins was taken number one overall by the Cavaliers in two thousand fourteen LeBron decides to sign with the Cavs in two thousand fourteen but that wasn't until July ninth or so. So Wiggins is like at summer league as a member of the Cavs, but everybody within a few days knows that he's about to get traded to Minnesota for Kevin love like that, right? Right. Talked about that deal didn't go through until August. And Andrew Wiggins actually played summer league for the Cavs that summer, but his representatives took out an insurance policy on him. In case something went wrong. I want to ask you a question about dates coming up the July six versus the July thirtieth models here. Brian candidate skis, here, Mason and Ireland. ESPN LA. I'm almost here. Brian Camden, excuse here, Mason and Ireland show what is up the the break. News of the weekend. Was that Anthony Davis has been traded to the Lakers? The trade becomes final now on July the sixth, which is important had it become final on July the thirtieth. The Lakers would have had more cap space to deal with is that something Momo that rob Pelinka should have negotiated harder for, you know. Yes, but I don't know that the really could I don't know if that's something he could fought for, because it may not even involve the pelicans like that may involve a thirteen once you trade, the fourth pick, you don't get the right to say..

"The other one will see what happens with him with a little bit. But with I believe this, I think that lavar did Lonzo an incredible disservice. They that he put a target on him that he never had to have. There's going to be enough of a target on Lonzo ball coming in, as the number two, pick having Magic Johnson pumping up and hype him up the way that he did people are going to be looking at Lonzo. He's chino hills. He's UCLA. He's LA Lakers. We knew we didn't know Molly all all supporting the whole thing you were. But I let me speak for my people and. I'm not talking about white people. And he did it was. That is to fact that he was number two of raw pick. And they felt as if those things were handed to him. He's a six foot something light skinned guy. So there's another. There's another demographic another sort of targeted him. There are a lot of things up begins Lonzo in addition to his father, but then Lonzo started to play. And I, I was saying that I understand why you feel as of Lonzo doesn't say much, but he actually does. He just doesn't say much through traditional media. But when you watch him on Instagram, and was social media, when you watch him doing the shot with a Brian James. When you listen to what he says, in his rap studies, right? I'm talking strictly on his plate. He couldn't shoot and you can't shoot and you data talking like that. And get a number two pick, and you're pretty boy. We're gonna crown you right. But after the Klein is about ball and we felt as if he could play. I think he's going to be just fine in New Orleans, just isn't if, if he stays healthy. I mean he's got he's got to get on the court. He's gotta do will he will be fine wherever he goes to play. He'll continue to develop really ever turn in court would it will he ever turn into what magic thought in the beginning? And that's okay. "Magic went on if you could start over lavar, what you could do something if you could start all over again. What would you do differently because I think he probably wouldn't have took, you know, jello out of UCLA, probably wouldn't took the kids over to Europe now because he jeopardized their possible. Careers in the NBA five taking them to the J, B, A or over to the way. And now you're only hope is that hopefully someone falls in love with lamelo. But he's not gonna play at the college ranks. So. He may go to Australia that other kid RJ happy. So now you've basically he had a easy ticket that he could have played on the college level, played and got the national exposure. And I think that we're looking at Zion, and that's what I think lavar wanted for his kids. Yes, he wanted Zion Lonzo some of that he got a little bit, but he didn't get the Zion. I mean it was pretty. It was pretty big. It wasn't on signs level. Different ion visit Duke, he went to Duke, and he's also a physically imposing correct, right? He looks like a freak of nature. Right. He looks like something you would sculpt in Roman times, June. You know what I'm saying? Like that's what Lonzo doesn't have that. But Lonzo played Kentucky on a nationally televised game on CBS in the afternoon, one. Right. Wonders year. Right. Four o'clock in the afternoon on the east coast. So that was that's, that's a real deal game lonzo's gains. I went to a game at Pauley pavilion, where they played Michigan. Another CBS game. So they got a lot of exposure. Lonzo was there. And I remember summer league being crazy when Lonzo was there. That was, I think that was given to, because he got drafted to the Lakers. So that was probably the most watch spring summer league. Right. And this one I'm going tell this, we'll probably rival it. But I think now that, you know, lavar is probably had some time to think you'd think that you think he will reflect I, I would hope that he reflect. Yeah. It does. Hey, I hope so too. Hopefully, we can bring him in and he come on, on this show on Saddam will show, all of Mike call because I will say, hey, what do you do? "That's not app, but you could keep him in LA. He gets to play for Jerry West led team, Doc Rivers. I know. It's all speculation. I just don't know if how they are constructed right now. I don't know about Lonzo ball. I really like Lonzo ball. I think he has you know, these intangibles the problem is the tangible is he can't shoot a free throw. How do I have a guy who has the ball? You're the point guard, and you can't shoot free throw. If Andre Drummond can improve his free throw shooting. Blake griffin. Like you. You can go down the let Karl Malone like you have to be able to improve your free. I can't have you on the floor. Like there was hacker shack. They're going to do the same thing to you. An Ingram's injury. I I mean, that's serious here, you I I don't know what his career is going to be. We we all like Kouzmin. I think heart has full tential. But okay, what am I have here? What did I learn this year? I don't think you learned that much because Lonzo being injured. I wanted to see how if he would get better by proxy playing with LeBron. But LeBron's not a good free throw shooter either. So the last thing I want is Lonzo shooting free throws with LeBron. Lonzo was forty five percent last year down to forty two percents this it's it's impossible. He's the only guard in the top lowest ten players in the league for fifth or spur shooting. He's only guard. What what did Andre Drummond go from two because he was sub fifty. And I think he's improved of upper sixties now. I mean, he he, but he worked at it. So Andre gentleman was like thirty seven as a rookie forty one thirty eight thirty five thirty eight and then sixty last year fifty seven this year. Okay. I can deal with sixty. I can't deal with forty forty two percent. Maybe Drummond could help if I can shoot blindfolded and make at least four out of ten I was lucky in Bob ball's number one thing he never got hilly shop forty eight free throws all year long. He never gets to the line new. He he doesn't go to the hoop..

"These are the troops will be leading soon. Right right in the same way that in tribes where infant mortality is really high. They don't name the children for the first two years because you don't wanna get attached to them managing testing when these poor young sweet little Lakers. And then you gotta give them up. You gotta give them up. So what do you do? You harden your hearts guts you turn into a cold machine? And you look at them as just numbers on sheet that can be moved around as he calls any Lakers by name yet. As he as he dressed. Lonzo ball. Lonzo yet? That's the crazy thing by the way that Lonzo lavar ball. My actually be right. They're missing Lonzo ball since he's been out. They've been one of the worst defenses in the NBA their offense offenses struggle. And so I'm not saying Lonzo ball's the best player on the Lakers. I'm just saying kinda miss him. They do miss him. Has that? So do you think he's changed? Lebron's mine where hey, maybe Lonzo global better than I thought, and I need to keep that guy here long-term or no way absolute into the point where they say, well, we want Lonzo ball in his Anthony Davis deal, and he's gone. Right. And honestly, I think if you're anybody other than LeBron I don't know how you can be surprised by any of this. Right. This is this is what this thing was set up for it wasn't just set up LeBron shoot commercials and movies and all that it was set up for them to go and add max players not good young players max players for him to be able to get competitive again. I'm just surprised he thought it would happen this year. That's all like is there precedent for that? When does it happen? Like that this quickly guy goes to new team. They trade the young roster. And they flip it over for more experienced veteran laid out a roster. A better roster when they can help them win a champion. I you're in Cleveland when he went back to Cleveland first things first Andrew against won't even learn your name. I won't even put in the letter. Right. Right. So then he's out and get him Kevin love and then midway. The season Dion waiters, not really working out. What do they do go out and get GR Smith any mon- Shumpert report in an Eastern Conference, though a little bit different? It's different. It's different. And those guys are younger. I mean, LeBron was younger than he will than he is right now. But I mean, I don't when you again if when you factor in that they knew Anthony Davis. Switch agencies before the season started. I mean, it really is a really well laid out plan. They just didn't execute it. But if that pulled it off it would have been tremendous, but Greg I have to LeBron smart enough to know that even with that even with Anthony Davis trading. Switching agents and going under clutch sport, which is LeBron agency rich Paul's agency, even while knowing that he had to knew he had to know. There was a shot that dealt dances is going to say, hey, no, I'm not doing that. Now, I'm going to wait until July. I'm gonna wait to see what the best offer is the Celtics have the most asset. He had to know that the brand had to know that is what I think in an interest in European. I think that when LeBron went. To LA. He thought two things number one. Even with this roster. I'm so good..

"Vice right here again this circles, then back to guess if you don't wanna rush LeBron backer. Lebron doesn't wanna rush himself back. February sevens. Come in AD is not the only guy out there. There's other moves that the Lakers could and maybe should look to make him while we're talking about them the LA times reporting. If Lonzo ball were to be traded. He would prefer if the Lakers added a third team to like a potential pelicans deal 'cause he'd like to go to the bowl to the next. I mean, we're just handing out teams to guys now, I don't know apparently mister robot. What do you think of the Lakers maybe accommodating or not Lonzo ball or lavar ball or whoever? Overwhelms? I sit here in southern California and say this as somebody who follows the bulls closely for my whole life. I Chris done at that position. Chris done first of all at this point. I know he didn't shoot it. Well, his when he was in Minneapolis or particular season. He isn't gonna hire shooting percentage. Overall from two point and three point the Lonzo ball. He's a better defender. He is a tough hard nose guy in the in the in the image of what the Chicago Bulls liked to think they are when they're good. They are that. I do like Lonzo ball. Yeah. But not as good as Chris done. I don't know. No know, everything you're saying is right with this not about basketball. This is everything about the ball brain. Amount right, Chicago or the next car, really the two worst teams. I mean, bad teams in league all about marketing, the big baller brand. And it's a smart move. I just don't think that. I don't think they will be taking where or if Lonzo ball does. And you know, maybe some of this too is just remind teams out there that might be trade partners for the Lakers. If you trade for Lonzo ball, and you're not a market to our family Laking things might get difficult for you. Maybe he's trying to depress some of the trade market for his son right into other places another corners that are not big markets. The Knicks are involved in these speculations. I just shake my head. Well, you're gonna take a lot. We're going to get back to talking boy scout Peter he's gonna make some good move warriors facing the Sixers tonight before their showdown with the Lakers on Saturday Steve Kerr giving boogie cousins credit for the warriors midseason Sergio.
