"There's nothing bad or unexpected in this pile of bills but I still see it adding up to a tidy sum. But this morning as I was looking at the latest one, a bill from the city, of Longmont, for all the various utilities I noticed that the same familiar feeling crept across my chest that I had felt for all these other expenses. A feeling of warmth and reassurance. The utility bill had a little note on it. That said don't pay account is being paid by credit card. So I can be reassured that whenever the duty comes up, the right amount of money will be sucked out of my credit card account to pay for the electricity and gas and water and trash service, and then whenever that credit card bill is due, another automatic payment will suck the right amount of money right out of my checking account and all remained debt free. Isn't. This remarkable I gets a frolic around in this super comfortable house of mine keeping it warm in winter and flipping on lights, stereos, and pulling cold beers out of the fridge and hopping into a hot shower whenever I like hosting guests in sharing the fresh food and hot showers and Cold Beers with them to music and movies streaming over the fiber optic Internet connection and my fleet of Crisp and well-maintained bikes flow in and out of the garage doors and the back without a second thought about how the bills will be paid in fact. I don't even know when a single one of my dates hits during the month and I also don't keep track of when my dividends or payments come in from stock investments or my little one owner business everything is worry free because I know there's enough and the very feeling of knowing that I have enough warms my heart and soul every single day it is a feeling of liberation and freedom and a glider that keeps me soaring high above the both of worry or having to sell out my free time for activities that aren't really helping anyone. To me this feeling is the very core of being a rich person. But. Now that I've got you imagining a glossy and pampered bag barking orders at my living assistant personal stylist before I climb into a white leather lexus to roll down to the Marina I should mention a few additional details. All this incredible luxury occurs within my small house on the train tracks tucked into a less than ginger fide neighborhood at the corner of a less than world class city..

"Located burglar autos in Longmont okay now I want to mention I mention this yesterday what about long my guys let's say it right what about all the auto why is that mark why is it for a small town we get more automobile use car purchase complaints from Longmont than anywhere else in that's incredible a small place like Longmont they they must have gotten together is that okay let's all get out a long mind screw the hell out of people it's like I haven pretty bad dealers along on auto sales another when the generates completes now what's going on get right to your problem well how do we help you what's going on okay so here's what happened I went and I bought a car for thirty five hundred dollars cash no what do you think you would get for that I honestly thought I would at least get a running car you know I twelve the card as it is did you buy it as is I bought it has a lot I and that was yeah okay no no warranties now here's what I want to know how what what does a year and what make model and the mileage down there in five Dodge neon SXT okay I neon and how many miles and only had a hundred and thirty thousand miles I don't believe it but if that's what they said okay but remember this folks you know my formula over a hundred thousand miles expect okay you will have some problems here and there over a hundred fifty thousand miles you will definitely have problems and over two hundred thousand you will have major catastrophic problems there's no there's no way around it there are a few exceptions right now there's a farmer sand I got four hundred thousand on my paper called when I'm just trained all so I'm I'm not talking about exceptions right now hold up what did that car dealer do wrong now I understand all the problems with cars that come after a thousand miles now this car was said to have been serviced greatly all the car facts so that there is nothing to be fixed on it everything was perfectly fine the card backs shows that it was a perfectly working hard well now the Carfax showed it shows maintenance and major repairs only this car's in good condition take it to a mechanic you can go to college you have this you had this checked out before you bought it I'm not in fact out right after I left a little I love that one that's the you know what people tell me I I checked out right after that that that that's like that's like after you say I do now getting to know your bride okay so what happened what what did you find actually only drove the car for twelve hours drove the car for twelve hours off the lot the card breaks down twelve hours after buying wow how okay what's wrong with it date however then what's wrong with that they're gonna throw it in for me they tell it and tell me they're going to fix everything they say the thermostat bad and that the water pump went bad they say they are in place that we played a lot of time everything's going to work on it just cars going around find they tell me I can even drive it to Las Vegas because I ask them specifically right can I drive this car to Las Vegas now that okay now are you mad at are you mad at the place that repaired it now or do cold it did too cold to put this thermostat in no I mean I know what I mean sprinkler a lot of okay so Dakota sprinkler put the thermostat in and the water pump did they charge you for that they did not charge me for that after that tell me I know you want to tell me pain and misery what happened after that I drove the car for eight hours and it broke down again doing the exact same thing and so they never actually fix them is a once in the head gasket what did they ever say right now is right now if I magically make you tell me you to day right now what's wrong with it why is there something wrong with it today I have no idea what's wrong with this right so is there something wrong with this okay so they fixed it once and after it started doing the same thing that's when you called us they said they fixed that never fixed it I think that they were going this is why I called you I got a call from Danny Valdez that and this girl and that's what they call the they're in there the person that works there he's a salesman the clerk at the manager any of us because with the owner he told me he had spoken with the owner and they're going to take my car back and give me the full value that I paid for a free trade in value but that doesn't matter because the next car you buy is gonna be over priced and and such I don't even let let me just take over here for a sec okay continue on that day mark go ahead well they don't even have Liz and Max and then you can talk all you want mark you don't eat they don't even have to do that you bought that vehicle as is if they're offering to get you into something else and actually give you whatever you paid for that what do you have to lose if you're not gonna do anything else exactly if the second car is all right here's the other thing they didn't have to do a thermostat or water pump they didn't have to do anything now I agree with you Dakota I would be just I would be pissed off if I bought a car and it broke down after twelve hours I would be really pissed off at myself for not getting it checked out by a mechanic so here's the deal I would also be ticked off at the people who sold it to me we all want to believe at least as you said we're gonna have a running car so you didn't call to get preached to but I have to tell you they don't have to do anything right and let us try to negotiate something do they have another car there and how much more would you have to pay they had another car for me they said that I could trade in my car to the full trade in value and then and and I'll tell you what I got a call from the owner and today he's like actually because we don't want to take the car back I'm actually only in either give you five hundred dollars trade in value or just nothing at all and I'm like you you're employee told me okay I can go thirty five hundred dollars for this car yeah but they won't call back then how is that not a thing because it's not a thing they need a spoon didn't have authority to say that the coda it's not a contract if that's what you're asking can you hold on to that okay let's Hastert tourney Michael name always hear from Denver travelers to talk about of course personal injuries up but I want to ask Michael Michael you're a lawyer she was told on the phone call on it will give you thirty five hundred is that a contract now there has to be some kind of consideration for that and there also has to be proof he can just added to say it right I mean oral contractor doing in Colorado I have the what is it do now are turning brown a point because people ask me all this time it doesn't oral or verbal contract work yes yeah but type what is a contract the definition is an agreement of terms so you can have an oral contract if you both agree on exactly what was said and all of the terms yeah you have an oral contract most of the time that's not why people ask if they have an oral contract they ask if they have an oral contract because both parties are representing something different so you don't have an oral contract even though they're enforceable they are literally enforceable only if both parties agree yeah but I still disagree or there's evidence they're still last to be authority if you told me right now I or it's going to give me a billion dollars I can't hold I hard to that well you know what there is something called okay there is something called an agency and and and sometimes you'll write might Michael sometimes they can be held responsible for their agents yes if they if they have the authority on behalf of the company or who are there working for as as an apparent agent that's right they could be held liable but so what I'm sorry I just gotta understand this so what checker at Walmart has the authority a let me walk out with whatever I when no one would think that that's not reasonable bot if you're working with the Kerr source to think Vinnie the spoon has yet order that's the guy that shoulder the car give Vinnie's the guy that seriously now he sold the car he's been talking to work he goes into the object he goes into finance compact says we need five hundred more or whatever in the course of this he is apparently an agent he signed the contract and you go out the door then the next day you come and complain he's you know what we're going to put you in another car and you all you have to pay is five hundred dollars that could they could hold that dealer liable true but he never but I had to pay anything else we're gonna do if I call him right now or we go to small claims court this guy will say yeah I told her that I said we would do this and we I agree would you say that I know now you say and Benny Valdez agreed to lessen the trade in my car I'm not I'm not asking your perspective if we ask Vinnie the spoon right now did you agree to this I'll call and ask all right hold on will call and ask what let's just so what you say this right now Dakota you have nothing I want to tell you the truth so you don't go off half cocked you have nothing you don't have a contract you don't have a promise you don't have a right to a refund you don't have a right to a trading you don't have a right to repairs not under the strict sense of your ads his purchase okay now if this guy covered something up and you could prove it like that transmission was jammed with sawdust or something that was so apparent that you could say you know they hooked winter but here's another thing people get wrong they tell me that the transmission is actually the problem now is that it's gonna be two thousand dollars to fix okay what why does that make them liable why I never they told me that the car was running that they replaced it wasn't but if it was and then wiped out my fall the car was running to call back do you realize even if the dealer no for transmission was bad they don't have to tell you they don't they're not obligated to tell you here's what they they can't do technically if you say Hey how was his car he says all man the transmission was just rebuilt it's in perfect shape or if you said how's the transmission they say it's great if you can prove that you might have something because it's a specific promise but you don't you haven't as his car I just the reason I'm spending in the house so much time you know why because you are like all the other dumb **** you don't have a loaded gun and you're holding it to someone's head better to know you don't have a loaded gun so you can use a nice now impact traffic really great drive in Denver very light volume no big accidents or stalls for the major highways couple things going on off highway on the north into the metro they're still cleaning up that accident one.

"All the time and then I learned that when you write on the very edge of the road people try to squeeze by you especially if there's traffic coming the other way and I learned that if I actually right out in the lane people seeing the because I use lights fell to I have flashing lights both front and rear one lane people actually see me and they actually change lanes to go around me my first year on a bicycle I did five thousand miles I had close Colin almost every right this I learned about writing in the lane I've had he will close calls and thirty thousand miles how many people have given you the middle finger when they passed you about once or twice a year that's all yeah I would think if you're slowing up a lane of traffic people would be angry actually you know most I'm I'm not slowing up lane because the people who are coming up and it is going to get a lanes they can just change lanes the pass and the catch is a lot of these rural roads are not enough room to pass the if they stay in the lane you understand you're in a different situation than people who drive around in the city who peddled out of the truck all right now I do right here in Longmont on the city streets and I have no problems here either but you know I your posts are running down the road should a law requiring bicyclists to have a flashing lights on their bikes I don't lie eight you know.

"New used north on I twenty five on the one thousand nine turnoff to Longmont. They have a service department up there too. Or you go out west of the city just north of sixth avenue between Kipling and SIMS next to woodleys. That's in Lakewood, an indoor facility thirty two thousand feet new and used and they have great pricing so much. So that when people shop the internet the end up coming here. From all over the country century, RV dot com. Three four five three one one one one Eric we'd touch research, by the way, there are a lot of attorneys that handle specifically nursing home abuse that I found back Shankar say they do it. Now. I know we have a firm in Colorado Springs that is is called the nursing home Law Center. I mean, I did not realize this. But there are a number of them that do it on contingency. Here's the problem Eric before anyone takes it on contingency. It's gotta be more than he's not being bathe properly. So I don't think yours rises to a contingency personal injury case. Are you there Eric? Yeah. I'm here. But I'm not saying you don't have a case. But you understand that right personal injury. These guys take a third they're going to work their asses off they need to have a payoff and all that's what I wasn't. Sure. If that's who. I was looking at with the personal. I would start there. Here's why would start there. I would start there because they're advertising, right? And say, look, do you think I have a case and and don't exaggerate. Here's what I tell people if you exaggerate things to get somebody on your side. They're only going to find out the facts. Anyway, it's gonna be a big disappointment. And it takes it'll waste your time. So Eric, tell them straight up, you know, he doesn't have a permanent injury right now. His quality of life socks. He's not happy. Whatever whatever it is. They don't like them. They don't treat them. Well, just figure that out. They will be the first to tell you listen, this does not rise to the level of personal injury. But perhaps you have a breach of contract now. Eric deputy, Dan, ask something off the air. Why don't you just move them? Now, I don't say that lightly because you know, having someone old. Tis up route is terrible. And it can sometimes kill him. Does your dad kind of like it there? No, it's the whole being on Medicaid thing. It's a pain in the butt. Yeah. And and finding facility you know, that he likes and whatnot. I mean, it took us two months to get him situated to where he's at last. Okay. So let's do let's do one at a time. I just Google this nursing home abuse, man. That's what I did. And like I said John John Fuller fuller law and my referral list. I'm not sure if he does it he does personal injury. But you could ask them because John will be the first to tell you where to go he will. And then back as some Shankar, I don't know them from Adam. But they advertise that they handle those on research that this morning. It was one of the first ones that came up with like I said, I wasn't sure if that's who I need to contact. That's the first one you contact. I one you contact then you go to a regular business attorney like on a referral list. You would go to John Davis for breach of contract. Just a good all around attorney. And then let us know what happens. Okay. Three zero three seven one three talk. You know, we do have our experts with us. Jeff, Kim retransmission Ron Langford master diving Bill hawker coming down from hawker automotive in Loveland and Fort Collins, two locations and Anassa those guys that they have specials coming up that we can apply maybe a discount or something for people listening right now. Carol. I'm reading this with much interest on the call screen. It says that you have a HOA who won't let you do something. Yes. That's correct. Tell me about it. How long have you lived there? Fifteen sixteen years, and are you wheelchair-bound? Yes. I am. Now. How long have you been wheelchair-bound? Maybe about two months, and what you want to put in a ramp. I do I have I had my own little ramp. And I was told that it's probably not into the board members liking, right? They say if I if I secure it. So I don't break my neck. They'll have to do it for one hundred and twenty two units. Now, Carol hold on hold on Carol where do you need a ramp? On second floor. What do you mean? You mean like, I don't I don't out of my condo on fourth floor in a wheelchair. Okay. Do you get out of your condo? You get into your in a wheelchair. You get out. You go to the elevator and come down is that right? I have a small wheelchair that I have to be pushed understand. I'm just asking. You get to the elevator. You press the button, you go down to the lobby you go out. And then how do you go to the lobby because there are stairs. That's the deal. The stairs. All over the complex. Okay. Carol helped me out here. Please. So you get in the elevator for no reason, then because you can't go anywhere, Carol. Let me explain to Tom. So it goes to the second floor, then there's a door there where she can go down. But she needs a ramp. So she was taking her. Yes. She gets out on the second chaos, and there's no exterior door leading our is. But she has to have her own portable ramp to be able to get down from that second floor to the main because there are stairs leading to the main floor and she had her own portable ramp and the HOA told her she couldn't use that anymore. They would have to vote on that particular. Well, hold on. They cannot deny her access at all they can't. But they only have to make reasonable accommodations, and that that's the hazy area we had the legal center for the disabled. Suzanne we can contact. Yeah. They'll probably put us in touch with the housing folks take a few days, but they can answer questions for us. I'm not talking about getting it built. I'm talking about answering questions. Carol certainly has a right for access for sure I mean, they can't deny someone living their access they can't. But they do have a right to impose certain restrictions Carol now. But are they saying they're not going to do it? No matter what I don't. I'm waiting for this one person. Okay. Harass me. Let's keep let's keep that part of her. Bottom line is just keep it totally business. And if you think she's harassing it. Doesn't matter the laws going to prevail. It doesn't matter. What you think what she thinks? Yeah. So here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna find out the low down. And then you'll be loaded for bear. You'll be able to say, okay. This is exactly what it is. Okay. And the and if they don't like it, then you will have no problem getting an attorney to help you. I was told that I probably already get an attorney. I why would you start right now? I wouldn't hold on just hold on. Here's what I wanted to Suzanne. I'd like to schedule her along with the center for what does that actually call? We had him on before center center for disabilities. Act is that what the Rocky Mountain center is that what you're talking about one of them. Yes. And then there's actually a legal center for the disabled. We'll figure it out. But I wanna get those is on that we've had before to that Rocky Mountain center. They answer a lot of good questions. You know? So they can at least give us some information. Now. Larry was on the show yesterday. And it didn't go very far because we just needed to see his contract and stuff. He said he signed he had a thirty nine dollar coupon and the visit ended up costing five hundred sixty dollars. More of that coming up celebrating fifteen years of art and community at camp.

"Turnoff to Longmont, and I twenty five that location has a service department. I can't tell you how many emails I get about service. They say, I know you've got a lot of great garages that you love. But what about when it comes to RB's? Well, all of them can work on our except they don't have the facility. So you need a place that can accommodate them century RV for service, the one thousand nine turnoff that's highway one thousand nine hundred twenty five and I want to emphasize that sure they have new and used and they have a place out west and little tin just north of sixth avenue between Kipling and SIMS next to woodleys. But if you're looking for service now, you won't find a better place service for all RV's where the bottom there are not three three four five three one one one one. Okay. Let's talk what's on your mind. Sandy's got a question for George Georgia's with fix it. Twenty four seven what's your question? Sandy. My question is we got to commercial heaters last September for why? For a garage repair shop, and what kind of heaters are they are. They the ones that hang in the corner. Yeah. And they're they're called hot dog. And they are it's as commercial residential, and they're making a lot of noise there. You say noise, you mean out of the ordinary noise because you have the fan, I you have to click, and then you have. The felt not rattling noise. Not a fan noise like rattling is it a like is it a rattle that that is very very sister. Regular light. Or does it go like this? You know what I'm saying? I really mean that I don't know because I'm not down there that much, but it's not from the fan because when the fan turned off it still makes a little noise has it always rattled since they put down. No it didn't rattle the first day. And then the people we had renting it ten years the heater that much because they they didn't they were they did mobile service more but a blowing hot air in out of a box. It's one big box that hangs from the ceiling and it blows because George sometimes when heaters turn on the metal and stuff around. It starts crank ING, and you know, what I'm saying. I do but there's also there's also things that could happen that make it rattle that can be easily fixed. Will they not come back out and fix it? And look at it. The company that put it in. He's just one man and he fell off his truck. And it's it's really kinda sad for his situation. Did you pay for that installation and unit? I'm curious. I wanna say three thousand for each of them. So it'd be like seven thousand, but I I I don't you have to in one building or and are they both making noise. One is making a lot less noise. That's weird. But one is actually still making the same noise. Yes. And did you tell the guy at least the guy that fell off his truck? Yes. What did he say? He said he'd come down. And look at it. Here's what I would like is your husband there where where he went with? No, you said I'm not down there right now. So where is this a business? You have. No, it's the building. We have a business in it. Now can someone at the business or someone there? Hold up a cell phone for us to hear the noise. I'm serious. I they're strung from the ceiling. And I don't think he's got a ladder. So I don't know how much you would hear tell you. How do you hear it? Then how I mean? How do they hear it who told? But I don't know if it's a cell phone would pick it up. Oh, what were you gonna say jerk? We could send somebody to look at it. It might be a quick, please. Okay. I'm gonna give her are off. We just telling me, oh, we'll do it as a courtesy won't charge. You a trip feta to tell you what it's gonna take. But I wanna know what I'd like to do is see we can run somebody over there while we're on the air. So sandy hang on. Okay. And and Suzanne will get your information. Whoever needs the information the location, and then we will get to somebody at fix it. Twenty four seven because I'd like to know what it is. Now, George you guys are somewhat limited with commercial work. Right. Yeah. But it sounds like I mean, I mean where do you? Where's the cutoff on that? If it's change out. If it's if it's working on them, you know, we'll do it. But if it's if it's adding it's really when it comes to Addie news commercial building like a big building. Yeah. We just don't do the big commercial. Right. We don't. But you do big garages and stuff like that. Right. Okay. Three zero three seven one three talk. And of course, Larry contacted us. And we call them back. What's going on? Larry. Hi, tom. How are you? I'm doing well and tell me about your insurance claim, well, we had well start out the story we had some health issues in our family that made us, you know, having sell our home in Colorado Springs, we had AllState insurance and. Uh home up for sale. And once we sold it and probably about the first week in October. The not only the Bank people that we're going to take care of the loan. But an inspector hired by the new owner. Yes, What's going to want to make sure everything was mechanic? Okay. Well, that's normal. So you had an inspection. Let's get to the part that hung up the sale. Okay. I took. I took. I went down to AllState. You told them to that? I needed a new roof. Hold on. Wait, you skip depart who says you need a new roof the mortgage company mechanical licensed mechanical inspector hired by the new owner. Okay. So a home inspector, plus the mortgage company both said you need a new roof. And did they say what was wrong with the roof? They said it was hailed damage. Okay. Now. Larry is this your home? Yes. When was what do you recall a hailstorm? Yes in August. Did you put a claim in? No, not right. I didn't know we had that as much damage as we did. Well, what did you think? We're neighbors getting roofs. Here. And there they were. Okay. So you didn't even think to get a check not not at the time. Okay. So now, you want to know what the heck should I do? And of course, do you still have all state? Well, the policy has expired, but when did the policy when do you still own the house? Well, I owned a I owned a house in until November nine okay, hold on November ninth. It was sold. But, but, but this complicates things you you owned the house when you had the aug hailstorm, right? And you had all state in full force in effect when the hailstorm hit exactly and when you called AllState, what did they tell you? They told me to that. I had told him exactly what the I understand. What did they tell you? They told me. Go ahead and get a bid and bring that back into the office. So I got a bit from a roofer then what brought that bid in. And they said go ahead and get that roof done. And then we'll take it from there. What happened then never wants today? Send out any of their people to inspect the rough, but you had the roof replaced. Yes. Before we closed, and then what did AllState pay? No why. Well, because the pictures that they were they were staying from the mortgage company. They weren't good enough. They said they weren't good enough. They were not good enough. They were saying that he was. Blistering due to not enough ventilation on which is not true. Well, weather's Gernot. Larry you did this ass backwards. This is the first mistake was any hint of hail. You should have an expert look at your roof, not the injustice, but an expert. Right. Licensed broker looking. I'm talking about the first hint of that storm. That's august. I the second problem is when you went, and they said do the roof, you got no documentation proving that do you? I hope or do you? Do you have a text and Email? From whom from AllState telling you to get a roof doesn't acclaim number. Isn't that proof, Tom? No, it's not. Okay. It's not that somebody looked at the roof or approved it it's a claim numbers of verbal thing. Tom. And are they denying it? Well, that that person no longer works for AllState. How do you know that? My agent told me that this is really terrible hold on a second. Let's talk to some insurance experts coming back and see what we can do for you. But I'm hoping everyone listening will never ever ever. Make this mistake. A lot of it happens when you're going to sell a house hang on.

"Whoever you are wherever you are whenever it is. You are catching some brain waves coming to you from the banks of the immaculate untarnished Saint rain river in almost always sunny Longmont, Colorado. I'm Ben called across the table is the only co host to his never failed to keep the New Year's resolution. She's Becky Peter's, Becky, what's good. It's all good bad. I'm crazy lucky that for most of Twenty-eight teen we had the pleasure bringing giants in education. So the ear buds of my favorite people. Busy teachers to help us be more informed. Inspired and connected caters. I really can't believe it's the end of the year. This has been one of the fastest years of my life. It definitely has been very fast. In reminds me of a saying that my dad always says he said life is like a Rolla toilet paper the closer you get to the end the faster goes. So hopefully, it slows down for all of us just a little bit. That's probably not going to slow down. But as teachers we know that looking back and processing. Are learning is so crucial? And we wanted to do that for this podcast to look back at each of our favorite moments from the twenty eight interviews on rain waves and to use some of those to realign our goals. Yeah. And we've been so over our skis with the guests that we've had and people we really have no business talking to that. It is hard to narrow it down to some of our top moments. But some of my favorite podcasts are best of podcasts. And so we're gonna try that for you the audience we are going to select our top five moments from this first year of reign ways from twenty eighteen. He is none that and my top five moment. Number five. Coincidentally comes from episode five with pirate. Dave teach like pirates Dave Burgess when he said mediocrity doesn't motivate. Nobody lukewarm sucks. You don't wanna who was something. That's lukewarm. Some of this mediocre who gets up with a lawyer saying like man, I can't wait to get in my classroom and be Luke warm today. Excited about my lesson today. Expect anyone to be those Yassin passionate about something that you're not. And so like a teacher will come to me and say like, oh, I don't understand what's happening kids. Just don't seem to be excited to be in my room. Not. Yeah. I can't understand. Why? Yeah. You're just a fired as a fireball energy. So my goal is different. Right. Like when said, I I I'm on the propane. I'm gonna douse myself with the gasoline of Lucy has and the flames of inspiration. I'm gonna light up when I get in front of kids, right? When you talk like that, it kind of makes me think of that quote on your website if they didn't have to be in your room. Would you be teaching two zero head of nervous about asking teachers that because it almost feels kind of rude. But I think that's true. If they didn't have to be here who would be in your room right now. And I would be in your room day. If I gotta tell you that I think that's the essential question of apart enough to be there would you teach into 'em to essential question of the entire book in. So what is it about? You is something about you. And the way you make kids feel in the kind of experiences career for them in your room that they will be drawn, and they would be there anyway. Wow. That was awesome. So I just love this moment. 'cause I wanna bring the energy that Dave does to every professional learning. I do I want my classroom to be so magnetic that address people in even if they don't have to be there. So I definitely loved ups owed five with parrot. Dave and thank him for mandated. Bring passion behind everything I do Becky which. You got for number five. What you just said reminds me of episode eleven to when the math grew Dan Meyer said never assume anyone even cares, which I love the phrasing..

"Brown. May we see your footage? Please. Brightened police department senior communication specialists. Jim McPherson expects the other Colorado cities will follow suit. She told Michael Roberts is kind of a trending thing. Here. Longmont already does it they've implemented and it's been successful. Well sweetheart, what's your definition of successful is doesn't it? She says that's where we got the idea from. And now we're going to incorporate it in Brighton. Today. Brighton yesterday Longmont tomorrow boulder, Denver. In fact, I'm surprised Michael Hancock hasn't thought of this already and demands to know all of the private surveillance cameras are slow. He goes out to find his girlfriend's. He these not calling camera. The concept. According to this Brighton spokesperson is that. Investigators and the Popo are aware of where cameras are that way. Is something happens in the area. They know they can reach out to a property owner or business owner and say we think a crime was committed around this time in this date. We want to look at your camera. Many of your thinking will Michael if I didn't commit the crime. What's wrong? Do you know what's on the footage of your camera? Do you have teenagers? Do come in late. Did you have just a little too much to drink last night? And as you pulled into the garage, you couldn't quite make it in and you had to back up, and align the car just write a couple of times before you got it in. I know it's on private property. But then you got out of your car and you stumbled around outside your health, and now maybe you're guilty of public. She said we think of crime was committed around this time in this date. We want to look at your camera. Then how long before it's you've got to register your camera. You have to register your camera. And then you're required to keep you know, what seven days worth of footage. So you're going to have to buy one that has a large enough hard-drive to hold that much footage the Brighton police department. She says because you'll save just one life. And this is a great idea. The Brian police department has used footage in the past to solve crimes. Well, why let me give you an example. She says, for example, a car accident a fourth and Bromley was solved by asking for footage from cameras in the area. And the pope was able to see which driver was at fault. Let me register my camera today because it's my obligation as a citizen to cooperate fully with the pope. Naturally. It's not it's the pope's job to figure out how to do their job and to do it on their own, Michael. Are you suggesting we not cooperate with the cops? I'm suggesting that if I've got surveillance footage. On my property. It's the proverbial foot in the door. Oh, we're asking residents today to register your cameras, and then they'll solve some big murder somewhere. Riddle solve some big rape. We'll solve. I dunno. Oh, a traffic accident. And then the next step. Well, let's require anyone who put surveillance cameras around their house to require them to register. And then of course, it'll metastasized like every government program being the cancer that it is that'll metastasized into will. Now, you have surveillance cameras you have to keep so much footage, and so many hours or so many days, and it'll just keep growing and growing and growing. She infra sizes that the program is strictly voluntary. And she doesn't want anybody to be uncomfortable with the thought of the cops knowing where their cameras are or to feel any pressure. There's no pressure at all. There's no pressure at all. How stupid does this woman? Think people are. So you got surveillance cameras around your house to protect you and to protect your property, and then the cops come knocking. Mr brown. We see you have some cameras here. May we see your footage? Please. No, I really haven't had a chance to look at it. I don't really want to look at it yet until I've had a chance Mr Brown. We we there. There was a burglary in the in the community. There was a there was a I don't know. There was a molestation. There was a there was a car wreck. I don't care what it was. Oh, no pressure at all. None whatsoever. Officers can't be everywhere at all times. So this partnership with the community will serve as an extra set of eyes around our tail. No, yes, it will won't it. Mark my words. This is exactly the kind of thing you can say I've got a tin foil hat on. I don't care. But this is the kind of thing where. Today voluntary. We don't want you to feel any pressure. And then the next thing, you know..

"To say seventy three degrees. Maybe inside the convention center in here. The site last night of GAB f night number one number two tonight. It runs through tomorrow night. Great American beer festival. Features four thousand beers, eight hundred sixty two thousand people over three days and a lot of those brewers come from our own state, like Longmont based witty brewing. They're pouring beer here at the festival president and brew master Ryan whippy is with us live. Good morning morning. Thanks for having me on you bet. How was last night super fun? Thursday nights. Always hectic getting are booths set up which I can see from right here, and we decorated with bunch of flamingos and lights going and our big disco ball. So once you got the lights on it was super fun and everybody enjoyed it. You know before we got in the area. I April asked how you're doing. He said it's a marathon not a sprint because you have to kind of pace yourself for for these next couple of days. Exactly. There's so many great beers here. And so many great breweries. It's a great time. Just meeting up with old friends and trying something new you guys won a medal for one of your beers last year. Hopefully, we're going to taste it here in the next. I know we're going to taste a few beers coming up in the next test. Why she's looking through you sounded good with chocolate and cocoa nibs. But how what does it mean for a brief period? And what did it mean for you? So we wanna silver for moon Dunkel last year. And it was the most amazing thing I've ever I lost my voice for like three days screaming so loud, and it just really kind of validated. The beer that we've been making for a long time. Then you get engaged to. And then we got engaged on stage, and I propose to my fiancee, Robin. And that's why you lost your voice. Yeah. Exactly. And then the gbi f- became our big engagement party. You know, ten thousand people you obviously want to have success. But I'm sure you don't go into it saying, well, I want to win a medal. It's about probably finding in making something that you're proud of that people like in taste good. And then the byproduct is the metal right? That's just something that tops the the cake. I guess exactly. There's so many great beers out there. It's really hard to win a medal these days. And so the fact that we won something was really great. But we just love making beer and something that tastes good that we enjoy. Yeah. It's so you must be so proud and heart and to see all the Colorado brewers that are, of course, there at an event like this because it's in their own backyard. But we don't you think we stand out as a state for beer when you compare it to other states, I think so we have just great beer here. Great water. The Rocky Mountain water is perfect for making great beer. And then we're the, you know, the state of craft beer where everything really started in boulder with the brewers association and Charlie pays, Ian. And it kind of blew blossomed into this huge fest in create culture that we have know you guys compete against each other because you want to sell your brand. But. The collaboration. I see is quite impressive to y'all kind of. There's a brotherhood sisterhood of y'all working together. And in you, all love each other and each other's product and work effort work efforts. And that's the best part. We get the share our work with each other. We're Bruin beers together. Sharing ideas, different flavors and types of beer. We wanna make then, you know, beer supposed to be fun. So we get to sit down and have a beer with our fellow brewers. We are going to have a beer with you. And it'll be fun in about five minutes. Okay. Dawson, stay right there. Ryan from Whitby brewing out

"I first national bank of longmont how would they even they probably don't even have a way to look back twenty years in a different banks records to see if this was ever cashed when you go to guarantee what do they say they'd have to they have to go back to their records and look to see good so what are they gonna do what are they gonna do okay that's good what you're in the right place but they you might ask them or ask the state whose name with those funds go into they might not necessarily go into your name because thought that money well it was on climbed by you the check was made out to you but i'm not sure their check register which show that it could be under the bank the longmont bank and you have a check going to the longmont pain you ought to go back and see if there's any money payable to longmont or something no it wouldn't go to longmont it this is an odd one you know they probably do have records i'm thinking it's it's only nineteen ninety eight every bank was operating under computers and stuff at this time it seems further than it actually what was give them a little more i would give them a little more time doug and get back to us you know that those those funds are paid for just for people to know the money is taken from your account and it's put into a bank account the bank then operates a checking account so the bank issues the check and what a bank is saying when they issue a cashier's check is this we've gotten the money from the guy or the woman we've put it in our account we guarantee that money is there for you and then you present it so that is a guarantee it's already been paid it can't bounce so now when that money does not show up month after month after month and then at the end of the year they're bank the register just like a regular checkbook shows that that check is unpaid they're not allowed to just keep that money i am positive they would have had to put it in the street funds.
