"Of the month of January and February we would typically see somewhere between seven and ten thousand new claims in a week to have a to have numbers like the ones we continue to have your unprecedented Baker said to speculate on what the economy could be re open would be premature he said it all depends on testing data and all of that could change before emergency measures are set to expire on may fourth Karen regal WBZ Boston news radio by the way governor Charlie Baker is trying to Hasbro factory in east Longmeadow today the games factory has been converted to manufacture fifty thousand plastic face shield per week for donations to local hospitals during this call that nineteen pandemic the governor will then be giving a corona virus update after one o'clock we will as always carry that live for you coming up in just a few minutes here WBZ newsradio will tell you how to professional teams are stepping up and helping people during this pandemic it is twelve oh three traffic and weather together starting with a super retailers of New England all wheel drive traffic on the threes any problems right now rob we DO something to watch out for coming into the city right issues make your way onto these they can bridge there is a break down to watch out for and it looks like traffic is slowing down a bit the state police are on scene it's over in the right lane just by the start of this vacancy use caution if you come into the city and also use caution coming off that loop ramp offer the Tobin bridge getting on too they say can stay over to the left as best you can looks like north of town we have some reduce speeds we do have that they'll work shown the left lanes are taken around the area near mystic AB up towards a Roosevelt circle towards spot pot and we are seeing some reduced speeds up in that area no issues along with the upper or lower ends of one twenty eight and out west to tell the pike looks good out towards Sturbridge rob Paco WBZ's traffic on the.

"The Jefferson memorial correct answers fifty for each of the fifty four columns in the Jefferson memorial are forty three feet tall and just over five feet in diameter the memorial was officially dedicated by President Roosevelt on April thirteenth of nineteen forty three and the winner on this question was Tom from east Longmeadow who takes on a fifty dollar gas card I don't know what the expectations were for the Disney streaming service the date reported ten million users signing up for its new service on day one monster number will get it is just a huge number any way you slice it the the only question that I have on this is there are so many ways to get either a free or discounted subscription for Disney plus right now that it's unclear how many of those people are actually paying full free and so while it certainly is a great start I don't think we're gonna be able to tell what the streaming landscape really looks like for probably two years I think it's gonna be twenty twenty one before we actually figure out who's keeping what service once all these discounts go away because it's not just that someone might not have to pay for Disney plus right now they may say Hey because I'm getting out for free I'm gonna keep my Netflix subscription but then I might cancel Netflix once I have to start paying for Disney paw such talk about the options for the consumer perspective you've got net flex which is the biggest player yet Hulu which is the you know the number two and they had who is running about twenty five percent Netflix for a long time you have Amazon prime though I don't know that I would be a or Amazon prime which I I put it in there you included as they say is always there is no content the problem is you don't sign up for it like you would probably sign up for just for Amazon prime which is their job right now but it's it's still service like it still has to be included in there okay HBO's coming out with one right yep you got peacock coming out as well that's hot did you mention who yeah I see you have those what's good analyst Netflix Disney HBO peacock Hulu Amazon there is one more what the heck is it I know there's a lot right there the whole day like when you think about those TV CBS all access an apple TV eight amps are so there's your does your eight that you have how much room is there for them I made a like no but I can't I'm like how much time you spend watching TV first of all and why would you have eight different streaming or why would even have to well there's different content out it means the same reason what like would you only have one station of one TV channel no but I that might be looking at it is you know it you here's a limited amount of time we can watch television I don't know what the averages for Americans but say it's I don't know when our day two hours a day he if you have that much time why would you be paying for all these different service so you're not going to pay for all but the question is how many will you so I I did just in back of the napkin math here so let's say that the average one of these is going to cost six or seven Bucks okay if it's six dollars a month and you get twenty million people signed up you got a billion dollars in revenue a year that you can play around with so that seems to me that's a stable platform product can be built if you get twenty thirty million subscribers if you get fewer than that it's not going to work if you get more than that it's all gravy because keep in mind that Disney should do pretty well I think so keep in mind until about five years ago H. B. O. could never break through thirty million subscribers is always around like twenty eight twenty nine would go up and down a little bit so we recently they figured out how to get more subscribers on board so it's there's a feasible business model if you're there if you're only able to get five to ten million sign ups you caught me out and not if I had to talk if I had to guess no peacock I think is going to do gangbusters address here I think the name is terrible to contemplate of wind up is great they're in underdog then all of us I think CBS all access is cooked yeah either that doesn't stand a chance I think they're cooked first of all the names socks so bad okay what the heck is CBS all access and second the house that has a big library it's just it's just not compelling content for the majority of PS values see restaurant is dreadful so I think CBS is going to end up being a casualty there of the other ones I'm Lou is whose is Disney right now they'll be fine I have real questions about Netflix to be honest yeah I don't think that the price tag yeah sure I think they're gonna be double the price of a lot of the other ones and once that content leaves there once you don't have the office once you don't have the Marvel movies had our worst ones you don't think their library of content that they've created is enough to keep keep consumers they don't market it well they think of it this way we're talking about this the other day they do pretty good job and I have you seen any of documentaries I bet you have does anyone sign up for Netflix because the documentary hello this is berry that's yeah that's it so they have this can be the only they have this movie what Irishman that's gonna be out on their platform at the end of the month have you seen a single ad for now to see what Netflix did yesterday are you getting him credit for this well what they it's the next story in Europe stacked there I didn't know where we don't want Bob spinoff Ryan's with the net so this is the kind of thing that is going to keep people around okay and specifically this gonna go right after Disney plus just because you and I don't care about a sponge Bob spin off your granddaughters will care about SpongeBob spin off most not just SpongeBob they signed with Nickelodeon so this is going directly at Disney plus for right handed now set the same week all it's a great move great move now what's interesting here Nickelodeon is that under it's not under CBS but who's the company they're always talk about merging with Viacom I believe that's under Viacom okay so I look at.
