"Talked a lot about the spirit world Hans Christian king. He's gone. Gosh. We're losing way. Too many guests giant rocks from space or falling from the sky more than they used to for the past two hundred ninety million years large asteroids have been crashing down to earth more than twice as often as they did in the previous seven hundred years. According to a new study, no need to cast a worried glance, though, asteroids still only smacker on average every million or few million years even with the increased crash rate. Let's just hope it's not in our time frame. Well, we're looking at Saturn at a very special time in the history of the solar system, according to scientists they've confirmed the planet's rings are very young no more than one hundred million years old when the dinosaurs still walked on the planet. How about that? What else is going on these days? Let's check in with Peter Davenport from the national UFO reporting center. Hi, peter. Well, good evening, George, and I'm particularly pleased to be here tonight to share some very fascinating reports with the audience, our trustee webmaster just posted about seventy two report store website collected over the last six days, and among them are the following first one is from antiquity from nineteen eighty. But seems like it was just yesterday George, and it's been almost forty years now hard to believe how quickly time is going by. But this report comes from Athens, Ohio located about eighty or ninety miles to the east of right. Patterson air force base in Dayton, Ohio. The gentleman writes that he and six of his cousins were watching television when suddenly the room they were in lit up with very bright, white light. Of course, their immediate reaction was to go outside and take a look to see if they could see what was causing this phenomenon to their amazement. They saw a huge disc shaped craft hovering motionless in the sky after only a short period of watching it. They're watching the object. Suddenly accelerated made a turn without banking, which indicated to these kids that it was really something. Very strange. I urge people do take a look at that report July twentieth. "Natural your reporting center. I kinda stopped myself short a bit talking about real clear UFO footage because right now there seems to be this debate over some footage that was shot over Utah place called beaver Utah. Sam short Jack was on the program to talk about the footage and many people were asking to release raw footage. It was basically a documentary crew filming over beaver Utah. And they caught something moving really quickly from the mountain pass down through intercepting with their with their drone out of you've seen that footage with some amazing stuff. Peter I saw just last night. And I agree with the client. It's amazing to have something Bank that severely and move. That rapidly is breathtaking. I don't I have no idea what that object was obviously, not any kind of terrestrial aircraft or drone. I would say for sure. Well, they actually now go into detail the raw footage showing that the craft had been way way back there at once smaller than it showed itself banking, and then it leveled off and then shot through the camera shot, and it's just amazing. What I don't even know what it is. It's like even when you slow it down. It looks like something that would be that flies by really quickly. And it's certainly an unidentified flying object. Yeah. And they calculated velocity. I think two or three thousand miles an hour, and although we have aircraft that are capable of going that fast. It's only at extreme altitudes where the air density is much lower than it is at ground level. I'm I feel comfortable in saying we don't have any kind of craft that can move that rapidly that low in the atmosphere. Yeah. It's certainly going to be a piece of footage is going to be studied a lot. I know that it's getting a lot of us. Now, even have my interview with short tack on one of their videos, which I'm very grateful. They put me on there talking about it. Because describing it I just thought it was breathtaking to watch. And once again, it was released at a time when you know, people were talking about Harry Reid was talking about getting funding for UFO research, the UFO that was seen in beavers probably about two hundred miles by car from area fifty one. So that thing was, you know, probably coming out of area fifty one, you know, coming out of a space somewhere that's being flown by extra-terrestrial who knows? Yeah. It's certainly something very unusual. And I commend the people who caught that footage because they did a great job of catching some really really interesting footage. Now, what are some of the reports that you sent me a few run down. Maybe a couple of before we go to break name. One of the recent report together really are compelling, well, one category of saving type that we've seen recently is reports of bright green egg shaped or circular shaped object goes back to the fourth of December. I have a printed report in front of me from Galveston Texas, the fourth of December eight fifty four PM Texas time four witnesses saw a break green egg shape late shot down into the water and disappeared from their site. I think that was sort of the beginning of the phenomenon. I think I sent you two reports that are sort of self corroborating I called them one is from Quincy Massachusetts, and I'm digging for as a speed Quincy mass the sixteenth. This is yesterday morning. Forty minutes past midnight, two witnesses were driving near Quincy Massachusetts, which I think is in the central part of the state. They both saw green fireball traveling low. They imply was traveling parallel to the horizon, which is an unusual pathway for for any kind of meteor. And it left a trail of sin white smoke behind it. The reason I find that report. So interesting CLYDE is just minutes later. I received a very similar report from oakdale New York on Long Island Suffolk County. One person reports he saw fear green sphere over wetland local wetland, and he asserts that as he was watching it. It executed several very abrupt sharp turns and excel A-Rated disappeared off into the night. He estimated that it was probably within two hundred feet of his location. Although that's only an estimate it's very difficult to know the range to a target particularly a bright light at night. Exactly. It's hard. It's hard to determine. That's why daylight UFO shots are so important because you can get him during the daylight, but you really hard because they're darning by and that's what that's. Shot was in Utah at night, you know, lights can fool you. They can they can be meteors. They can be you know, planes with extra bright landing lights, it'd be anything. But mostly if they move into Radic ways, that's when you really understand that you have some sort of strange UFO, and you should get out your Cameron start recording it or something that's for sure..

It executed several very abrupt sharp turn and accelerated and disappeared off into the night. He estimated that it was probably within two hundred feet of his location. That's why daylight UFO shots are so important because you can get him during the daylight, but you really hard because they're darting by and that's what that's. "With us natural your reporting center. I kind of stopped myself short a bit talking about real clear, you have fo- footage because right now there seems to be this debate over some footage that was shot over Utah place called beaver Utah. Sam short sack was on the program to talk about the footage and many people were asking to release raw footage. It was basically a documentary crew were filming over a beaver Utah. And they caught something moving really quickly from the mountain pass down through intercepting with their with their drone out of you've seen that footage with some amazing stuff. Peter I saw just last night. And I agree with the client. It's amazing to have something Bank that severely and move. That rapidly is breathtaking. I don't know. I have no idea what that object was obviously, not any kind of terrestrial aircraft or drone. I would say. For sure. Well, they actually now going to detail the raw footage showing that the craft had been way way back there at went smaller than it showed itself banking, and then it leveled off shot through the camera shot, and it's just amazing. What I don't even know what it is. It's like even when you slow it down. It looks like something that would be that flies by really quickly. And it's certainly an unidentified flying object. Yeah. And they calculated velocity. I think two or three thousand miles an hour. And although we have aircrafts that are capable of going that fast. It's only at extreme altitudes where the air density is much lower than it is a ground level. I'm I feel comfortable in saying we don't have any kind of craft that can move that rapidly that low in the atmosphere. Yeah, it's certainly going to be a piece of footage is going to be studied a lot. I know that it's getting a lot of us. Now, even have my interview with short tack on one of their videos, which I'm very grateful. They put me on there. Talking about it. Because I describing it I just thought it was breathtaking to watch. And once again, it was released at a time when you know, people were talking about Harry Reid was talking about getting funding for UFO research, the UFO that was seen in beaver probably about two hundred miles by car from area fifty one. So that thing was, you know, probably coming out of area fifty one it's not coming out of a space somewhere. That's being flown by extraterrestrials who knows? Yeah. It's certainly something very unusual. And I commend the people who caught that footage because they did a great job of catching some really really interesting footage. Now, what are some of the reports that you sent me a few being rundown. Maybe a couple before we go to break the name. One of the recent reports, they really are compelling well, one category of citing type that we've seen recently is reports of bright green egg shaped or circular shaped object goes back to the fourth of December. I have a printed report in front of me from Galveston Texas, the fourth of December eight fifty four PM Texas time four witnesses saw a bright green egg shape late that shot down into the water and disappeared from their site. They both saw green fireball traveling low they imply as was traveling parallel to the horizon, which is an unusual pathway for for any kind of meteor. That's why daylight UFO shots are so important because you can get him during the daylight, but you really hard because they're darning by and that's what that's. A shot was in Utah at night, you know, lights can fool you. They can they can that you've been meteors. They can be you know, planes with extra bright landing lights would be anything. But mostly if they move into Radic ways, that's when you really understand you have some sort of strange UFO, and you should get out your camera and start recording it or something that's for.

"Forty seven degrees. Coming up on the news at six thirty four Republicans, HOGAN and Harris wind, but little wells. As Americans went to the polls yesterday to cast their ballots in the midterm elections. Everyone wanted there I voted sticker people complaining on social media. If they're polling place didn't have any is because they ran out or they didn't have any to begin with because people voted absentee ballot. In addition. Some businesses were offering discounts to people who showed up with your. I voted sticker that caused a little bit of a problem on Long Island Suffolk County Republican elections Commissioner Nikkan along lotta said that he wasn't spending twenty thousand dollars in taxpayer money to hand out adhesive participation trophies. The I voted sticker. Not a lot of people. Like goes. I bought a whole lot of those ahead of time. Just the anticipating that there might be a shortage. Yeah. Well, there was yesterday. A related. No, the I team has learned in Brooksville, Florida. The golden corral was handing out I ate stickers yesterday. Nice snicker. Whitaker had twelve of them on his coat yesterday's. He was wrong. That's just amazing. You know, it really is. I don't understand how he gets his information. But it's it is amazing. Well, the I team has tentacles that spread throughout the country. Yeah. We're gonna get kicked into tentacles. I can tell you that. He'll never know when the tentacles are about to touch you there. Oh, let me know. I'm moist with anticipation. Sounds like a Betty Crocker cake. Canard's or whatever it was Dunkin is taking Manila Dunkin Heine. Hot tub. That's nice. That's nice. Mr. Whittaker always, Mr.. A pleasure to say goodbye. We'll see. Six eighteen eighteen minutes after the hour. And again, so who do you blame? I think look at certainly not President Trump. I had said that you look at the interesting exit polls here yesterday that FOX did their voter analysis bowl. The number one issue for voters yesterday healthcare. Twenty six percent immigration was second at twenty three the economy, which has been absolutely booming down and third at nineteen percent in both of those. I think are related because you think once again, we've got a number of people in America today who believe that healthcare is a right? They should be given healthcare. They shouldn't even be charged for it. And the economy how many people now are benefiting from the economy, we're in over fifty percent of the country, in some way, shape or form is getting some kind of entitlement, whether it be free, healthcare or food stamps or welfare or some kind of subsidy. The economy doesn't seem to carry the impact that it once did. And when people start figuring out that all you have to do is vote in this is what one of the problems with democracy. As soon as they find out that all you have to do is vote in candidates who are going to give you more and more and more. And you just mentioned over fifty percent of the people here in this country now receiving some form of welfare or entitlements. When those people start realizing that all you have to do is vote for the person who is forgiving, you more. Then they're going to vote for that person. And that's what we're seeing. Now, we're seeing a transformation in this country. I think democracy in his country is on the brink right now. I mean, it's it's it when something's got to dramatically shift. So that people are not going to be voting for people who are going to just give them whatever they want for nothing. Well, that's why conservatives like yours truly calling for the article five convention. I think it's time that we impose term limits on every single member of congress some are even suggesting on the supreme court as well. That's something look whether that will happen in our lifetimes. Who knows coming up next? Here's the question. There are already those blaming President Trump's and is Trump and his rhetoric for losing the never mind that this is a standard traditional pattern. That's happened since eighteen twenty four with a sitting pro party in power loses seats in the house and sometimes in in both houses of congress. But the question is should President Trump softened, his tone and his rhetoric? We'll hear from him in just a moment. Sean and Frank listeners already know Perry hall heating and air conditioning has so many reasons to call the will now Perry hall.

"Genetics DNA are. I mean, it does it impacts every decision that you make almost every minute of every day of your life. And the thing that cold spring harbor laboratory is really passionate about is actually not producing like the next Einstein or the next Jim Watson to do like the Nobel prize winning work what we really care about in our education programs is making sure that the next generation is aware of what genetics means what DNA means. So that when they're confronted with what treatment M, I looking for what what's my doctor offering me that that you can understand what that means. And it could because we have to be our own advocates in today's society. We have to pick the food. We eat. We have to pick the doctors we go to we have to figure out what kind of car we're going to buy. That you know, what kind of fuel? It's using you know, I it's we need to be better informed. And so all of our education programs at the DNA learning center, really focus on raising awareness. So that kids understand that. This is something that is important for them. And that they should be able to apply and will be needing to apply to their everyday lives. So cold spring harbor laboratories has a whole center the DNA learning center. Yes. Which is designed to inform people about DNA because there are people listening to this show right now, sit there going I'm gonna touch genetically modified food no way around trusted on frostless corporations. But by the way, if I'm gonna die of cancer. And there's a gene therapy that could save me bring it on. So the thing is you need to be able to make better decisions by getting informed, and you have a whole center the DNA learning center that does that. And we have somebody in the studio who hails a man of good morning. Hi, kevin. So you're the assistant director of the cold spring harbor laboratories DNA learning center, your job is to explain that to everybody. Right. It is. So what we're attempting to do at the DNA learning center, and we have a very successful model for the past thirty years is to develop a series of hands on lab activities and modules that we use with children in grades five through twelve and even undergraduates. To help. Explain some of the basic concepts behind genetics and molecular biology and biotechnology as well. As to present some of the very interesting techniques that are used in these fields. And really our goal is to get kids interested in science to inform them by allowing them to do the science to learn the way that scientists. Now, your main headquarters is out in cold spring harbor, which is by Huntington how Long Island Suffolk County, but you also have a a center, I think in lake success. Indeed. And you have one in Harlem, right? So if somebody's listening to this like a teacher, and they want to get their kids involved, and you you have all programs for schools, you work with lots of schools in the metropolitan area. How could they how could the how could they get involved? Well for more information on our school partner programs, and there are a series of different programs on Long Island as well as New York City, depending on how involved the school wants to be in our programs..

"We have good morning and welcome to get active. Hey, kevin. So what does cold spring harbor laboratories do? Well, we've been active in this community for a hundred and twenty eight years in eighteen ninety we had biology teachers from Brooklyn coming to muck around in cold spring harbor trying to understand living things organisms that lived in the water, and they would come and use the technology of the day, which was there is their hands. Their noses their ears helped by maybe some primitive microscopes to try to figure out how these living things, actually. Worked and we're still doing that discovery of how things living things work today. And we've got eleven hundred employees were located about an hour outside of Manhattan on the north shore of Long Island, and we're doing research on biology, and we've got tons of education programs starting in fifth grade and going all the way through to like professional scientists who have won Nobel prizes helping them keep up with today's technology and use that to better understand how living things work so cold spring harbor laboratories is really a world class research institution. Right. I mean, you guys are like ground zero for DNA, isn't that? Right. Absolutely. We are a mecca for living science every single scientist in the field of biology and genetics comes to cold spring harbor laboratory at some point in his or her career. Because this is the place where biology happens this is the place where new fields of biology are made and scientists come to the lab to talk to each other about their work to talk about what could be possible in collaboration to learn the latest technologies that they can bring home to their laboratories and also to do research and further their field and further their careers. So each year cold spring harbor laboratory spends about one hundred million dollars on research and scientists from not just America. But all over the world, come there for conferences to study, really share ideas. That's right. You also have a science school you handout PHD's. Yes. You have a DNA learning center because God knows I don't know anything about it. And you have a think tank that actually works on policy like what should the policy for genetic engineering? Be and you keep awarding knees. Nobel prize winner starting with Watson who really discovered in the nineteen fifties. The double helix, right? Exactly. Well, Jim Watson made that discovery in nineteen fifty three he figured out with Francis. Crick the structure of DNA DNA is like your genetic blueprint makes everybody their own individual selves. What makes it's what makes me me? And you you and DNA tells every cell in your body what it's supposed to do in order to make me me. And you you so he did that in nineteen fifty three. And then he came to the laboratory in one thousand nine hundred sixty eight to be the director, but we actually have more Nobel prizes that go back even earlier than than Dr Watson, actually, one of the only women to ever win a Nobel prize by herself for her own work as a woman named Barbara McClintock. And she discovered something called jumping genes. And jumping genes can be explained by looking at corn. And, you know, around Halloween time thanksgiving time corn that corn that has the different colors that kernels are different colors. That's not something that like was painted on in the grocery store, or at least if you saw a real piece of corn. That's not what it is. That can be explained by jumping genes and genes jumping around and making those different colors appear and turns out that it's not just important for corn. But jumping genes important in understanding human disease and jumping genes are the cause of many human diseases. So, you know, more more power to Barbara. She was an amazing woman. And we're very proud of that. I think I ate those corn on Halloween. Now, the the National Cancer Institute actually designated your organization, the cold spring harbor laboratories as as a cancer center. And I know biotech companies that are doing research will go to your your research labs to do their testing. And also cold spring harbor laboratories actually will help start people start. So for young person wants to go into biology or genetics or DNA cold spring harbor laboratories is good place for them to either learn the science get a degree. So he can get a high paying job or even start a company. Right. Absolutely. Well, you can start in fifth grade learning about DNA at our DNA learning center, we've been helping kids between fifth grade and twelfth grade understand hands on about their own DNA about genetics. And then if you're an undergraduate after you graduated from high. School. You can come to a summer program for ten weeks and actually work and a laboratory and learn what it's like to be scientist. And then after you get your undergrad you can come to culturing harbor laboratory and get your PHD in biology. And then after you get your PHD in biology. He never science never ends is a lifelong learning process. So you can come and do your post, doc. This is a transitional period where a PHD has experience working in somebody else's laboratory. So that they can then move on in their career. And know what it means to run a lab start their own lab, and you mentioned business every investigator every scientific lab is really a small business. Scientists have to figure out what the project is what the work is that they want to do. And then they have to find out how they're going to get funded. Most of the funding for basic research. Like, we do at cold spring harbor laboratory comes from either competitive federal grants or from private philanthropy. And nobody's gonna give you money unless you prove to them that it's going to be going towards, a a worthwhile endeavor. And that you know. How to do the experiment, and you know, how to get results? So that that experiment actually helps society at some level going forward. So some people think that we're on the cusp of the golden age of DNA and genetic engineering. I mean, it's pretty amazing already. It's changed a lot of things, but this is going to explode in in the future. So why should a young person get involved with, you know, biology genetic engineering DNA right now, I mean, I mean, it's already changed like crime like forensic analysis. We we did a show here with the innocence project where they used native free thousands of prisoners across the country who were found guilty at trial, but they were innocent based on DNA medical treatment. I mean stuff like you're going to cure diseases, and you can cure them. Even before you get them. You can just say this is going to happen. We'll just take it right out now food. I mean, you you can have more nutritious healthier food. That lasts longer on an even energy with biofuel. So this is really going to change everything, isn't it? It does. Kevin. I mean, you just explained like everything for why. Sounds so important genetics. DNA are I mean, it does it impacts every decision that you make almost every minute of every day of your life. And the thing that cold spring harbor laboratory is really passionate about is actually not producing like the next Einstein or the next Jim Watson to do like the Nobel prize winning work what we really care about in our education programs is making sure that the next generation is aware of what genetics means what DNA means. So that when they're confronted with what treatment am I looking for what what's my doctor offering me that that you can understand what that means. So call spring harbor laboratories has a whole center the DNA learning center. Yes. Which is designed to inform people about DNA because there are people listening to this show right now. And we have, somebody in the studio who hails that's a man Good morning, Amanda hi Kevin you so you're the assistant director of the cold spring harbor laboratories, DNA learning, center, your, job is to explain that to. Everybody right it is so what we're attempting to do at the DNA learning center and we have a very successful model for the past thirty years is to develop a series of hands on lab activities and modules that we use with children in grades five through. Twelve and even undergraduates to help explain some of, the basic concepts behind, genetics, and molecular biology and biotechnology as well as to present some of the very interesting techniques that are used in these. Fields and really our goal is, to get. Kids interested in science to inform, them by allowing them, to do the science to learn it the way that scientists now your main headquarters, is out in cold spring harbor which is by Huntington out in Long Island Suffolk County but you also have a a center I, think in lake success indeed and you. Have one in Harlem right so if somebody's listening to this like A teacher and they want to get their kids involved and you have all programs for schools you work with lots of schools in the metropolitan area how could they how could the how could they get involved well for more information on our school partner, programs and there are a series of different programs on Long Island as well as in New. York City, depending on how involved the school wants to be in our programs all they need to do is go to our website at WWW dot d.. N., a. l. c. dot org that's just an acronym, for DNA learning center pretty easy and click, the fear. Field trips and membership link and there, there's information, about high school programs. Middle school elementary in school instruction, field? Trips summer camps and teacher training now You actually teach the, teachers, and you actually teach them what if you want, to get involved like what a good curriculum would be actually. Have a text book right sure our director Dave Miklos has written several textbooks one is. Called DNA science and one is genome science and their content based but they, also our lab manuals so if you're a teacher who's trained you can use this. Textbook pretty much to teach a whole course in molecular. Biology if you, wanted to in, your school and the website? Has, webinars and it has multimedia resources and I, think you're even working with a school in Connecticut right we are so we have a partner program, here in New York City that manages relationships with five independent schools. Currently one of which is confident of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich Connecticut and those partner programs are quite special. To school pays an annual fee for a customized program, where we'll train teachers will implement some of these hands on. Lab activities during the course of, a curriculum, and our goal always, with these, programs is, for schools to. Institutionalized These labs and make. Them, a part of what they do every year and we're very, happy, that I would say nine times out of ten, when we have these types of relationships that's exactly what happens. They'll wind up develop developing an advanced elective and molecular genetics that most schools don't have. Do you have a bigger challenge teaching the teachers because the kids I will admit I probably shouldn't be saying this but they. Are much more difficult to to rain and then the students are Much. More than a fifth grade Reward is that if you train a teacher and they implement some of the labs that you've taught them that you're going to be reaching a lot more students than you would just. By hosting them on field trips so your job? Really. Is to, make DNA, fun right I mean I mean I never really everybody has like this one teacher changed my life and I, changed have a whole new career and you. Really want to be that person you want to train the person So I mean.
