"You as a man of action. I mean, you're just a gregarious guy. You love big, you talk, you're there. You want to be an action. That's what about you the force to start with. When you started moving toward the more administrative roles, how did that for someone like you how did that make was that different? Was that almost a more difficult challenge? Oh, yeah. I mean, it always is, especially when you're sent from being on the front lines with the Delta force up to The Pentagon. You know, that's like being thrown off to San Francisco bridge or something. But you know what, what was good about that was, I. Actually was only only the staff therefore a little while, and I got sent over to the CIA. So I spent a couple of years at CIA running covert actions there to CIA. And so it kind of put me back in the fight, so to speak, and that was a great assignment. And I got to tell you, don't ever say anything bad about CIA around me, because they are, they have some of the finest professionals in the government. And then when I came back for my second tour at The Pentagon, I wound up going over to the Balkans running a task force there to capture war criminals, remember after the Dayton accords, there had been an agreement that all of the war and factions would turn in the people that were identified as war criminals, but they didn't do it. So I was running a task force out of Sarajevo that was capturing war criminals and that was that was a great assignment. I mean, I really enjoyed that. And then I left that job after about a year and came back to take over all the green berets, but I got to tell you, I just kept getting put back into those positions where I could feel like I was still part of the game.

How AJ's Father Found Their Home in 1966

"My father gets a flat tire driving out to Long Island to go look for a good fishing spot. And Long Island, especially in that area, is right off the great south bay. Which a couple of bridges later leads you to the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, fire island, Jones beach, beautiful, beautiful spots, especially back in the 60s. So gets a flat tire, starts walking down the block, calls snedeker avenue, which is named after an Indian tribe. Because Long Island is filled with algonquin and Iroquois Indian folklore. And as he's walking, he notices these model homes that look nice. Now, back in Brooklyn, it's me, my mother and my father, my two sisters, rose Lee in The Rain, living in a two bedroom apartment on 80th street, 16, 26, 80 street. Not ideal, but it was a wonderful place to be born in Brooklyn is Brooklyn and I love it to my till I die. But to think that for $24,000, he could have a home with three bedrooms and a backyard big enough for a pool. And maybe live on the water or the canal, it was too much. And my father had come up on this model home when he came back to Brooklyn, got his flat fixed, did some fishing in the area because back then, there were no bulkheads, you could walk down the street and some streets didn't even have asphalt. It was just dirt, and you get right to the great south bay, you could walk into the great south bay. Clam go from muscles, cramps, fish, and my dad did just add and came back and brought a few fish home and some clams, and he told my mom, I got much more for you than what's in this SAP. There's some homes. We need to look at. And they went back a week later or so and he showed my mom and his father, my grandfather, who was still alive back then. And my aunt Mary, his sister, where we could live, and you can imagine these people who rarely left bensonhurst Brooklyn. What this new idyllic community looked like. And it was beautiful.

Sen. Josh Hawley Accused of Transphobic Questioning

"Welcome back to the outside and show ladies and gentlemen, I want to get back to congressman Holly and his interview with the devil about him being transferred for simply asking questions. Of clarity in a world of foolery wrote a clip. I just want to clear one thing up. Professor bridges, you said several times, you've used a phrase I want to make sure I understand what you mean by you referred to people with a capacity for pregnancy. Would that be women? Many women, cis women have the capacity for pregnancy, many cis women do not have the capacity for pregnancy. There are also trans men who are capable of pregnancy as well as non binary people who are capable of pregnancy. So this isn't really a women's rights issue. We can recognize that this impacts women while also recognizing that it impacts other groups. Those things are not mutually exclusive senator Holly. Oh, so your view is, is that the core of this right then is about what? So I want to recognize that your line of questioning is transphobic. And it opens up trans people to violence by not recognizing them. Wow, you're saying that I'm opening up people to violence by asking whether or not women are the folks who can have pregnancies. So I want to note that one out of 5 transgender persons have attempted suicide. So I think it's important. Because of my line of questioning. So we can't talk about it because denying that trans people exist and pretending not to know that they exist. I'm denying that trans people exist by asking. Are you about women? Are you? Having pregnancies? Do you believe that men can get pregnant? No, I don't think. So you were not going to trans people. And that leads to violence. Is this how you run your classroom or students allowed to question more? They also treated like this. They're told that they're opening up people to violence. We have a good question. My class, you should join. You might learn a lot. Wow, I would learn a lot. I've learned a lot. I know. Absolutely. Extraordinary.

Mike Gallagher Reports From Dachau Concentration Camp

"Never forget, of course, that was the reason we wanted to visit duck Howe, the infamous concentration camp, about 20 to 30 minutes outside of Munich. We're standing in an area that was known as the death zone. First of all, this is the bridge that would take prisoners over to the crematorium area. The smaller building was used as a crematorium and as a gas chamber, the bigger building was not. It was constructed over the course of a year by prisoners, but ultimately was not finished in time because of the liberation. This is what they call the death zone behind me. You see the strip of grass where if any prisoners made it to this particular strip of grass, they were immediately executed by the soldiers by the SS in the watchtowers. Then there's, of course, is this bitch if they made it across the ditch, there was a trip wire and then electrified fencing. Many of the prisoners simply ran to this area to be killed. They wanted to be relieved of the horror and the suffering and the torture and the beatings and the starvation. They were shot again either by the soldiers or they would lay, they would touch the electrified fence for an immediate electrocution, a suicide to escape the horrors of what happened here at duck house. So this, again, never forget. It's important to no man's inhumanity to man. The sheer evil that existed here, and this is

Why the Declaration of Independence Is SO Important

"Emma is from New Mexico Charlie loves seeing that Steve smiled in church. Thank you so much. I'm in high school and my friends think America's racist and awful. They're happy to have the time off for July 4th from their summer jobs and from their sports, but they tell me that America is an awful place and we need to turn it over, have a revolution. Can you please help me explain to my Friends why the Declaration of Independence is so important and what exactly happened that day. It's a great question. Emma from New Mexico. And I love speaking at Steve's mother man's church. So let's read it. July 4th, 1776. Now it took three days to actually finish the document. It's really July 2nd that we should be celebrating Independence Day. But they dated it July 4th for a reason. Now, we must understand the time in the circumstances before. The declaration was signed. That this was a bubbling up of many years of the British Empire that needed to pay off war debt. They need to be able to finance their country to raise taxes. And their colonies in India were totally ravaged by, let's just say imperialistic hubris. Went back to Britain, they need to try to finance to kind of basically bridge the revenue short gap. No one in on the aisle wanted to actually pay taxes. They said, let's go tax those colonists. Now remember, before the 1750s or 1760s came around, the first Europeans to come to America and the first Americans came right near 1620. Now, Nicole Hannah Jones makes a big deal out of this, we'll play some tape from Nicole Hannah Jones, the wannabe historian, who does nothing but basically is a, let's say, historical arsonist. To what is true and what is accurate in American history. Of course, there were the first colonies on the eastern seaboard, Jamestown being one of them, then of course the Mayflower got blown off course. That is the creation of the Mayflower compact, which then of course created the first experiment in self government in the new world. For over a 150 years,

The Expulsion of Chesa Boudin Points to a Larger Problem...

"I thought we could continue our discussion of chesa boudin I think very welcome expulsion of Jessa boudin, but we were saying at this points to a larger problem, the larger problem is that you got you got the left and they don't take the crime laws or even the constitution very seriously at all. Their view is that law is a tool. And you were saying many of these and can be molded. Many of these guys go to law school not to learn about the law, but to learn about how the law can be manipulated to their end. And now this goes back to a school called legal realism that developed about a century ago. And legal realism is based on the idea that don't think of the law as a set of neutral principles that apply evenly or fairly to everybody. I think that was a French thinker a couple centuries ago who said something like the law in its majestic equality forbids both the rich and the poor from sleeping under bridges. And he was being sarcastic what he meant to say was that the law is made by rich people. Obviously rich people don't need to sleep under bridges. So they pass this law. No one can sleep under a bridge. But the idea is poor people need to sleep under bridges because how else do they get shelter from The Rain? So the point being that this seemingly neutral law that makes just kind of laying out here, the logic of legal realism, that law is not neutral. Lies made by powerful people to protect their own interests. And so the left is fully justified in going into law and manipulating and twisting the law to its own

Larry Taunton Deals With Shootings by Looking at Plain-as-Day Facts

"It. We're talking about the ivaldi massacre 19 children killed, murdered. What is the, what is the main point in your Twitter thread? I know what it is, but I want you to explain it. Yeah, sure. Well, I mean, Democrats have responded to this very predictably. I mean, they've seized upon this. Politicized it and made it all about, you know, how the Second Amendment is out of date. There need to be gun seizures, buybacks, further gun restrictions, all of these kinds of things. And that led me to really start thinking Eric about the fact that just a few years ago when I was writing my book around the world and more than 80 days, I can undertake in kind of the unique task of traveling to places where there had been mass shootings, almost all of them in Europe. And so I was at, you know, went to Stockholm, and I was interviewing people there. After the truck attack, a guy stole a beer truck and he drove straight down a pedestrian, a fashionable pedestrian district and just mowed down women and children. Westminster bridge in London, London Bridge. I went to Paris to Charlie Hebdo, where there were a number of people killed just a short walk away to the back to clan where about 90 were killed in the mass shooting there. It was also in Nigeria as you well know, and I was there, you know, to bring attention to the fact that many Christians, either they're horribly persecuted, there's just been another attack on Christians in that country in the last couple of days. And so when I see all this talk about gun seizures or, you know, how if we restrict gun the ability to buy guns to access them, then it's going to solve this problem. And I know that that just simply isn't true. First of all, the shootings that we see in Europe is very difficult to buy gun in Europe. And yet somehow these terrors all manage to get

"You just see all these people, and you hear the roar and then nationally at them goes, and it's just like you can feel your it's like a matrix moment. You're like whole body calms down. He can just hear your heart pumping and you just it's, it's almost like you see those pictures, what was that one with Kevin Costner was a pitcher. And he's like, turn on the mechanism and everything goes quiet. Door. That was that was what was it was so good. It was gout or something. We're just going let it go. Just reference long bridge, and get over it. And that's what it's like when you walk out, because if you get caught up in it, it may affect you. Remember in two thousand eight in the Olympics wasn't at home. But I remember being teary eyed 'cause I knew it was my last major event. I knew I was probably going to retire after that. And I actually had the biggest mistake in my career because I got caught up in the emotion. I like had a back pass which really ended up being a through Paul for Norway. And it was the best backpass most textured perfect weighted ball. If I had played it for the other team and we end up losing that game to nothing. Another air by another teammate of mine. We just weren't ready just weren't cute in mostly. But this team was able to do it. And I credit on dean Henry, that's the captain for this team. She's able to just take that steely composure, and just keep everyone around her calm, and she performed. I thought she was the reason that she created that for school through pressure and are smart pressure. It was deceptive. And then she put pressure and was able to dispossess a South Korean player once she's able to do that as every captain, sh sh. Should she knew that her performance could help calm the team down? It did. Yeah. It's amazing. Right. Like you wonder who's going to step up in that moment? And now you know why? It's her. Now, you know why when you lost the armband when DA crabby came the head coach, she said, no, no, no. You're not what I want. I want that I think the next captain will be backed by the from everything I've heard in her leadership ability, but you get to see right? Renard was the captain today. Earlier in the show, you mentioned pulling out of a tackle against Nigeria, should, I say that should I give back my jersey, I actually want to ask, because, like, I feel like a lot of our listeners, obviously, a huge women's football fan. So, so they remember your career. They know it. Well for those that didn't don't you know didn't watch Kate play. We could describe you physical centreback, right? Yeah. We're known for your for your crunch. So my question was never dirty, but I was definitely. No, no, no, honestly because I pride myself on that. I was never dirty, but I was all I was just I would say I was a smart consistent hard player. My point was the question. I'm trying to get through how many tackles would you say you back down? Right. That's. I wanted to point that it was really. Against Brazil, heck I laid out as many Brazilians I could. Honestly, because that's the only way you could stop them. Right. But not a dirty way. But I actually went in with extra event ever been dirty than her next quotas. I've laid out many Brazilians when I could actually catch them even in my prime I definitely I you cannot win a tackle against the Nigerian at least I could and I was not scrawny. I was it was a big girl, so yeah, kudos to them. "It's, it's just taking away all options for women seemed arbitrary and what about the one at birth. No, no, no, no. So, but that was a little different than it was presented. It was it was in a setting of a medical emergencies were both people were going to die. And which you choose. And again, I don't I if you hear that was it was a little fake, it cut. Yeah. Well, maybe carry a look it up. But look either way, Virginia. Northern sorry. I thought I sent he the Virginia guy Virginia governor. Right. Wasn't it? It was either wipe. Look, I don't think I don't want either one pick number in the middle, the people to keep it, let's put it this way, you know, we were, you've never have you ever been stuck with a decision about abortion or not now? Okay. Well, we were you know, they were trying to get a well. We had three kids that were viable, but one of them sloughed off, we had four once left off, and they were trying to get us to go down to three two two rather. And we were like we just couldn't do it. So personally, I can't do it, which is interesting. I was thinking about this drone tell me what you think in the slippery slope world we've become. Cavalier. I'd say about abortion in a way, which is what the antiabortion people are fearful of we've become a little desensitized to this, and so much show that when people talk about it. People are outraged that people don't want or making legal, which is interesting because I think everyone should always have mixed feelings about it. Sure. But anyway. Tell me what you think about this concept drew. We've had a kind of. Abortion has become more powerful and more commonplace or whatever I mean, it's just kind of like I don't know, in the NBA watch guys in the sixties. Nobody really dunk. Now everyone kinda dunks. You don't think that much of it. It's just it's a thing that didn't really so much. We didn't talk about that much or wasn't that much? And now now it's kind of on. We've also become pretty casual about parenting, like dad's staying around and raising their kids and I was contemplating the other day I was thinking I wonder if there's some connection between the kid being aborted and a sort of we've signed off on it as a side. I'm gonna saying it's a good thing. I get it. And then the hanging around like let's say the dad and raising a kid who has been born like we were sort of aborted parenting, along with it. Well, let's just let's see we can build this bridge, not a very long bridge to build, like, let's just say your dad on, and you're like sitting around and you're going should we abortion? I don't know when they wanna do what do you think what do you? Let's think about our flip a coin or something, like, you know, all right. Let's have the kid so that dad's already establish kind of tenuous relationship with his. Not also, his character, and his morality. Yeah. It's makes it very casual very relativistic. This is David Brooks thing is that we've just lost. We've gone adrift where nothing matters. If I pair, not paired, that's, that's kind of what I'm saying, like, I'm not trying to sound like a religious salad. I'm I'm approaching it for a sociological standpoint, which is, we've got a lot of dads who don't have a relationship with their kid and they seem pretty unfazed by it, and it's a society where fairly unfazed by this team had a kid, then he moved moved away. We always I tried well, you and I will we know what it create. Yeah. But the same group that actually just a village, man, put the village, same group is who's fighting for Boertien rights is also not judging dads that moved to Florida. Don't raise her fuck and kids. So maybe there is some yeah. Connection, there would make sense to me. If you remember your member, your friend, that used to be the times would always talk about what kind of world we create when we legalize everything, and we don't stick to some sort of moral compass number of saying that Shelby. Yes. Yeah. I would say, don't make pot legal, make prostitutional everything. Crimes. Yeah. Yeah. And he kinda go, but that will shape our society, you'll be living.

These kids are on scooters, you're going that's dangerous. Man, you slip and fall you go right over the side of the bridge. Then what? And of course, because they're elite over to San Diego reader. Talking about profiling and stuff like that talk about satellite. The hate in the town. What's gone, by the way, the on roads without bicycle lanes, motorized scooters may operate where the speed limit is twenty five miles or less. The speed limit on the Coronado bridge is the double nickel. And there are no bike lanes. You know after work tonight.
