A highlight from Could Oil and a Gov't Shutdown Screw Up Powell's Plans?
"Welcome back to The Breakdown with me, NLW. It's a daily podcast on macro, Bitcoin, and the big picture power shifts remaking our world. What's going on, guys? It is Friday, September 22nd, and today we are talking oil, macro, everything that could throw the economy off. But before we get to that, if you are enjoying The Breakdown, please go subscribe to it, give it a rating, give it a review, or if you want to dive deeper into the conversation, come join us on the Breakers Discord. You can find a link at the show notes or go to bit .ly slash breakdown pod. All right, friends, well, we are sort of continuing the macro story today that we picked up around Powell and the FOMC this week. And one of the questions that Powell was asked was about risks that threatened to knock the economy off course. Two that he mentioned that we're going to spend a little time on today include oil prices and a potential government shutdown. Let's start with oil first. The price of crude oil has steadily increased over the past four months. From a low of around $70 in June, oil reached almost $90 a barrel for the US -based WTI benchmark contract and $95 per barrel and $95 per barrel for international Brent crude earlier this week. The price increase for crude has driven US gas prices back above $3 .80 per gallon, the highest level since last October. Overall, gas prices have ramped up by 20 % since the beginning of the year, according to AAA. Now, there are a number of factors all contributing to steadily increasing oil prices since the June lows. The first is OPEC+. The economic group of oil producing nations led by Saudi Arabia and Russia have recently curbed output. Production cuts, which were agreed to late last year, have been gradually implemented over the past six months. In July, Saudi Arabia voluntarily cut an additional 1 million barrels per day from its production quota, about 10 % of its previous output. Existing production cuts across OPEC have already been extended into next year and analysts expect Saudi Arabia to extend their voluntary cuts until March. On Thursday, Russia further constrained supply by banning the export of diesel and petrol. Russia is one of the world's largest suppliers of diesel alongside their status as producing around 12 % of the global supply of crude oil. The International Energy Agency said last year that Russian refineries produce, quote, roughly double the diesel needed to satisfy domestic demand and typically export half their annual production. Analyst opinions focused on the simplest explanation for the ban, retaliation for sanctions. Henning Gloestien of the Eurasia Group said, Russia wants to inflict pain on Europe and the U .S. and it looks like they're now repeating the playbook from gas and the oil market ahead of the winter months. They're showing that they're not finished using their power over energy markets. The Kremlin said the ban was temporary and aimed at addressing rising energy prices in domestic markets. However, they gave no timeline on when the ban might be lifted. U .S. and European policymakers have largely banned the importation of Russian refined fuel since February, which has required Russian supply to be routed through third party regions including Turkey, North Africa and Latin America. Now, OPEC cuts over the past year were predicated on a weakening demand profile heading into this year. At the time they were announced, recessions were expected across Europe and the U .S. China was an open question with the potential of reopening pushed back in the midst of additional pandemic waves. But since then, the European economy is sputtering along, albeit with dismal manufacturing data out of Germany. The sanctioning of Russian supply has caused European demand to be displaced to other regions with refining capacity, largely India and the Middle East. In the U .S., recession has been continuously pushed off into the future and oil demand is now back at all time highs with no signs of slowing. Although the Chinese economy has hit some turbulence recently, oil demand remains robust. Analysts expect China's oil demand to remain high as Beijing secures strategically important resources. What's more, analysts expect China's oil demand to remain high as Beijing secures strategically important resources in part to mitigate geopolitical risks as well as to shore up its manufacturing and transportation industries. So with oil prices spiking, many are wondering whether the White House will once again intervene in markets using the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Between November 2021 and September of last year, the White House authorized a number of SPR releases. The final policy saw one million barrels per day provided into the market over six months. A small amount of oil was restocked earlier this year, but the SPR still sits at a little over half its pre -pandemic level. Earlier this week, a headline circulated proclaiming that quote, Biden says depleting SPR is on the table. This was later found to be a hoax with no legitimate source, but it demonstrates how difficult high oil prices could be for the U .S. economy heading into election season. To wit, many saw the SPR release as a political decision rather than an economic decision heading into the 2022 midterms. In the private sector, U .S. oil inventories have recently hit 40 -year lows of 46 -day supply, well below the longer -term average of 65 days. And while August's inflation reports already showed a small uptick due to oil -related prices, the effect is expected to be more profound across this month. Dario Perkins, an economist at T .S. Lombard said, That said, it is important to keep these recent inflationary developments in context. We are not yet in danger of undoing 12 months of solid disinflationary progress, not even close. Others suggested that high oil prices would have a greater impact on growth rather than inflation. Maya Bhandari, head of multi -asset at BNP Paribas Asset Management said, It really impacts the growth side of the Goldilocks equation rather than the inflation side of things over the long term. Theory is that sustained high oil prices begin to eat into disposable income for households alongside higher costs of production for manufacturing and logistics. These combine to reduce growth and potentially tip the economy into recession. Overall, this situation in the oil markets has, to some, many parallels to the liquid natural gas spike in the winter of 2022. Prices in some markets rose more than tenfold, European energy companies scrambled to secure supply at any cost, and multiple firms went bankrupt due to the volatility in markets. This week, Bloomberg reported that the trading arm of French supplier Total Energies has played a major role in bidding up the price of U .S.-based oil. Their source claimed that the firm is paying a premium for physical U .S. barrels, pushing the spread against futures to levels not seen since last November. With all of that said, there are some signs that the oil market is beginning to cool off. On Thursday, Brent crude futures fell to $92 per barrel, which represented the third straight day of price declines, which is the longest streak in almost a month. Warren Patterson, head of Commodity Strategy at ING, said the Fed's hawkish messaging has quote, put some pressure on risk assets, including oil. The dollar index has risen by 0 .8 % since Chair Powell left the podium, a large enough move to weigh on asset markets. Patterson said he still expects Brent crude to move above the $100 mark in the near term, but that he doesn't anticipate the move will be sustainable. So that is the view on oil overall. The thing that I am definitely going to be watching more than anything else is the political dimension of this. We are now entering the period where everything, even more than usual, is going to be completely wrapped up in what it means for the election season. If prices at the pump keep trending up, it seems very likely that the Biden administration will be willing to do what it takes, including SPR releases, to get those prices down. But that's just something we're going to have to keep an eye on. Now what about that other factor that Powell mentioned? Well yes, indeed, my friends, the US government is once again hurtling towards a shutdown after efforts to pass a short term spending bill were scuttled on the House floor on Thursday. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy attempted to marshal Republicans to vote through a package to keep the government funded past the end of September. Closed door negotiations continued late into Wednesday night, but were apparently unconvincing. The bill currently being considered is the $886 billion Defense Appropriations Act. The bill was stifled in the House after five GOP representatives refused to allow debate to begin by voting against a preliminary procedural rule. Democrats also voted against the measure and appeared to taunt Republicans apparently reveling in seeing the GOP's slim majority descend into chaos. Among the Republican dissenters was Marjorie Taylor Greene, who opposed the inclusion of $300 million in funding to the Ukrainian war effort. On Thursday, Politico reported that Pentagon sources have said Ukrainian operations have been exempted from any shutdown, making that part of the dispute rather moot. McCarthy sent House members home on Thursday night to return to Washington on Tuesday. He told reporters after the failed vote, quote, two people flipped, so I got to figure out how to fix that. That wasn't the impression they had given us. Now, this was McCarthy's third attempt at bringing the bill to the House floor. The current proposal on the table is a 31 -day stopgap funding mechanism to forestall a shutdown to begin next weekend. McCarthy remarked on the change in tone in Congress among that extreme element of the Republican Party, stating that, quote, this is a whole new concept of individuals that just want to burn the whole place down. Now, even if a 31 -day stopgap is passed in the House, it seems unlikely to make its way through the Democrat -controlled Senate. The bill includes a 30 percent temporary cut to domestic agencies and immigration law changes, neither of which are likely to get the seal of approval from Dems. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said instead of decreasing the chance of a shutdown, Speaker McCarthy is actually increasing it by wasting time on extremist proposals that cannot become law in the Senate. House Democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries remarked that the situation was playing out as a, quote, Republican civil war. Now, if it comes to pass, this would be the 11th government shutdown since 1980. The logic is that hard -line positions that don't enjoy support in the Congress can be put directly to the American people by shutting down the government and drawing attention to the impasse. Republican Ralph Norman said last week that, quote, we're going to have a shutdown. We believe in what we're doing. The jury will be the country. Still, the record on government shutdowns doesn't really support that strategy. Not one of the 10 previous shutdowns resulted in the dissenting group extracting concessions. Typically, the American people quickly turn on the party they view as blocking access to government services over a petty squabble. Alex Conant, a Republican strategist, said, This is such a dumb fight because there's no principle that we're standing on here. It's just bad tactics. While the dispute is nominally over excessive government spending, with Republican dissenters pushing for funding to be reduced back to 2022 levels, the underlying problem is, of course, the level of discord within the Republican Party. McCarthy was voted in as House Speaker after a record 15 attempts. The process took four days and frequently descended into a farce. This was only the second time in the post -Civil War era that a House Speaker had failed to be elected on the first attempt. Conant noted the terrible optics of a government shutdown of the Republicans' own making heading into election season, stating that, quote, Biden didn't win because of his political skills and soaring oratory. He won because Republicans blew themselves up with Trump. I'm afraid we're seeing history repeat itself, with the GOP once again helping Biden by shooting themselves in the foot. Of course, never one to shy away from controversy, Trump fanned the flames on Wednesday, posting that, quote, Republicans in Congress can and must defund all aspects of Crooked Joe Biden's weaponized government that refuses to close the border and treats half the country as enemies of the state. He added that, quote, This is also the last chance to defund these political prosecutions against me and other patriots. They failed on the debt limit they must not fail now. Use the power of the person to defend the country. Now, zooming out and trying to get away from the politics of the situation, which obviously is not the focus of this show. The reason that this was brought up at last week's FOMC press conference is that a government shutdown would halt the publication of government data. This would include employment, inflation and growth statistics, which are currently playing a key role in guiding Fed policy. Now, given how much the Fed has said over and over again, their policy is going to be driven by data, presumably not having access to that data would be a fairly big deal. Yet in spite of that, Powell tried to put on a brave face, saying, If there is a government shutdown and it lasts through the next meeting, then it's possible we wouldn't be getting some of the data that we would ordinarily get and we would just have to deal with that. Now, by way of some history, the longest ever government shutdown lasted 35 days. The dispute was around funding for the border wall and quickly turned public sentiment against the Trump administration. Republicans controlled both the House and the Senate, but the administration failed to convince their own party to fund the wall. At the time, Democrat Senator Jon Tester called it the most stupid shutdown I have ever seen in my life. However, if this week's display is anything to go by, that 2019 shutdown could soon have some competition for that title. Now, what does this all have to do with the crypto sphere? Well, I think in many ways these are just exemplary of the state of politics in general. And given that, perhaps it's not surprising that former Senator Pat Toomey is not optimistic about the chances of crypto legislation being passed during this Congress. Just prior to retiring from Congress at the beginning of the year, Toomey introduced his own crypto bill, which focused on stablecoin regulations. Now, the House currently has two major crypto bills eligible to be brought for a vote. One would establish a stablecoin framework while the other introduces more broad crypto regulations. While speaking at a Georgetown Law Seminar on Thursday, however, Toomey said, I don't see a path forward in the Senate regardless of how the vote goes in the House. He added that of the two, he sees the stablecoin legislation as having the best shot. The sticking point will likely be Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown. While Brown has been outspoken about the risks of crypto and the need to bring the industry to heel, he has so far remained extremely quiet on exactly what form of legislation would meet his approval. And of course, any crypto legislation would need the support of Democratic senators to pass a vote to become law. Still, during an interview on Thursday, Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad said that she thinks that Brown's lack of commitment to a legislative position might actually be a good thing. Shirzad said, Now, last week, Brown wrote a letter to head regulators at multiple agencies urging them to use their existing powers to crack down on non -compliant crypto firms. This of course seems to be the clear intention, at least at the SEC. On Tuesday, the head of that agency's crypto assets and cyber unit, David Hirsch, warned that more enforcement actions would be coming against crypto intermediaries, including DeFi protocols. Still, Toomey, who serves now as an advisor to Coinbase, views stablecoin legislation as the solvable problem. At the moment, Democrats are pushing for the Fed to serve a central role in regulating issuers rather than granting oversight power to state regulators. This preference is believed to be driven by the White House. Toomey said, He thinks that senior Democrats will get on board once the White House is satisfied with the stablecoin proposal. Although that proposal might have to wait until after the election, as Toomey said in the next Congress, I think it's quite possible to get something done.

The Taliban has opened fire in the street to disperse crowds, killing one person. Numerous people injured US struggling to get Americans and allies to the Kabul airport, ABC s Ian Pinel. As we were driving in. I saw this, this one mom with a tiny little baby and in desperation, she was just in floods of tears, and her husband is clutching a little plastic folder with the papers that he's got to show that he has worked with the Americans. He's one of the people who should be on the plane, but he can't get past the Taliban and and and there are thousands of people down there like that. No. My senator Tammy Duckworth's says she's deeply worried about women and girls there. I was just reading a report that they would have already started knocking on the doors of female journalists and other women that have been working on behalf of the role of women and girls in Afghanistan in particular. So again I go back to I don't trust the Taliban. And I certainly don't take them at their word doctor says she's laser focused on getting US military troops and Afghans who helped the military evacuated from the country safely. She also called for the Taliban to release Lombard resident Mark Frerichs. He's the last known us hostage being held. He was kidnapped in 2020 while working as a civil engineer in Kabul. Yesterday, a Taliban leader said they didn't know where he was. And thousands of Americans still wait now and try to get there to be airlifted out as flights continue. Covid

It was like the one that the guy from Dumb and Dumber War. It was like a living wage. Like what was it? It was like a maroon limit. We just grew too fast. So I was like, I can't get it done. But what was it? I mean like but if you got an offer to someone make an offer to you. Yeah, I got a month. I got offered a couple hundred bucks to fight the friend of Pretender Series against group again. Okay, I'll wait wait, to pretend to be in the contender. Know the freezer under what's The Pretender series? That's that's an affair. Grab in Arkansas, wage. No. No, that's my forward cuz it was like it was like, what are we? If I got hit by scientists, a better go at The Pretender Series against through Fickett. That they're like, it's like a fight off and I think it's the only guy who more rear-naked chokes than me an MMA. Wow. All right, so we're not making that we're not fighting at the Red Lobster box and it said we worry about my business, but actually the main event of of it is going to be Jesse, Taylor and set. Pazinski. That's a good fight. I thought we were going to be the coax. The Protector serious was okay. Just does, he was a guy who won The Ultimate Fighter. He needs somebody like a Jiminy Cricket and it's fucking pocket all the time to tell them. Hey, maybe don't kick out this window Hammer now. Oh, hey, maybe. Don't test positive for steroids. Hey, maybe, you know he needs. I'm just saying he needs angel on his shoulder. I told you you also kind of need that that person as well. Farm to kill them now, Jason, by the way. So Marena Kaufman, right? When the Kaufman a girl who started off, she came out our podcast, very attractive girl, very a very great energy. She had her first fight ever spilled. She never fought before in her life. She drove 3 hours. Suck it up for a fight with no training when I say no training. I mean, never got, like, literally never had a fight and, and then just fucking Haymakers. It was the craziest. I tell you it was it was like basically a Worldstar fight but in an actual like it was like I had a bar since then she's gone three and six something, but she's one of the last three fights just sort of always like I'm going sex and then one three. So it's kind of a fucked-up. Wait, I look at it. You just lose fights because you didn't know how to Grapple. There was like nobody there to Grapple with her. Now. She's not with bare-knuckle fighting game. And I'm training her flower. Well, now she's living with you. Write her boyfriend are living with you and you're like, her her basically her, her Mickey, like you're her coach and you suck at Old goddamn and your training her for Bare knuckle boxing. Yeah, you've never done by like a boxing but you have got lots of fights. How do you play in a girl? Who's ever bare knuckle? Boxing for Bare knuckle boxing? Well, I mean, first of all, good training Partners, you know what I mean? Like, every different migraines is out here and I can work with him. We were similar in weight. But Marina, we need somebody 1:15 a.m. So I'd give it a business and, and we're going to scroll Jasmine at the gym. She use like fantastic, been boxing kickboxing, spreadsheet of total mix, martial artists that she was living. So it's just giving Marina work every day. And you know, it's like man, it's a blessing to have good training Partners, first of all, but also a lot of the techniques for minimum wage Lord's been applied to bare-knuckle fighting, you know, I know all of them, you know, and we got Chris leben, coming in to help too. He knows his dirty boxing. So there's a yeah, there's like a it's really cold lessons come together. The the training camp is, you know, it's salt. I don't know if you saw that tweet. I posted with the first fucking day. I gave Marino black guy. Okay, I threw it off jab cuz she's flying to South ball and I guess I hit her. I didn't feel it. I think she might have head-butted me in the fucking face. To be honest. Because after I jabbed her like that, she just sworn off on me and beat the fucking shit out of me wearing gloves. Yeah, big gloves. Yeah sixteen. She was wearing a small gloves and I literally had played turn, my face away, and cower like to 115 pound woman. She just swarmed on me like, but that's okay. Okay, I had to stop wearing headgear. Fuk know, like we were just supposed to be going light, but whoops, will wear head gear. Next time. I will, at least off. Okay, so I mean now her opponent backed out her opponent back down, weird, the fucking Mayhem fucking magic. Everyone got scared ever. She started talking shit on Facebook to like try to get Marina fed and Marina just smashed her down with like funny ass Facebook. The girl deletes her fucking Facebook like go quits. She quits social media before the fight even start. So now we got a new opponent. It's fine. It's fine. You.

"Doing off. Supposed to be talking about, it's about a fight song. All right, so listen, I got to do it. I got to join my friends. Have a enjoy, have a good time off. All right, I was Hector Lombard. Hey guys, great man, I loved him. He was younger. I thought that was, I think that's a different guy that I'm thinking of three. Right? There's two and then there's three. Yeah, that wasn't a fighter. I don't think that fighter looked like, he was little. Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah. The fighter was younger. So Mayhem left his phone in Palm Springs. So that's why he has not been on the podcast today. I just talked that code for relapse. No, no, no, I just talked to his girlfriend. He's in Palm Springs. He left his phone there and it's her fault so long. He's, he's training right now. I was wondering why he hadn't got back from you. But yeah, that's that's crazy. But during the show, what was that? How often have you had like Hector Lombard on Thursday? We have a mom. Like once every I mean, he'll just randomly text vehicle. I want to come on this week and then he's one of a kind. I hope we don't get canceled. Now while I get this people, cuz I don't know, some of the things that you have to give people formed to talk you. You didn't say, I agree. It's those Jews or anything course, of course. Of course, of course, home of course. Uh, yeah. And I listened Hector's and tell that his opinion, that's what makes this country great and you know, Hector also he's been through it, man. I mean, he's the he's the real deal. Like he's, he grew up in Cuba under Fidel, Castro, and escaped, Cuba and binder, and became a very, very successful fighter. And now he's the bare-knuckle champion, and, you know, he's obviously wage. Got to interesting people around them. Yeah, most Cuban expats are pro Trump. Most of them are nearly are. Yeah. I mean cuz they don't want to go back to Cuba wage. I think it's I think it's I think it's a long leap. But listen. I don't feel like getting people fucking writing me know, send emails. I'm not going to read them. I probably will read them. And then my wife going to be like what you don't focus on me. This is on this. So I don't have time, like, I appreciate it. You know, I'm not as verse as Politics as maybe I should be. I'm not trying to be actually let home more into my own fucking life person. And there's no point in getting into politics. There really isn't because all you going to have is half the people hate, you half the people love you and then you're just an echo chamber off the more, you know, it's like the less, you know, you know what I mean. Like, it's a Pandora's Box. It's also like, you know, I mean, I see people that are like fuming about like let's say, transgenders and female sportswriter Say what you want about America but I'm just like, I'm like bro, you know, you $9 in the bank, right, you're right. Just left you with your kid, will talk to you. Like I mean, you got other City, you gotta deal with right now. I think there's a fraction from what you're actually and I fall into that too. I get into these micro chambers of whatever. Echo chambers of thing. Boom blah, blah, blah. I'm like, I got a real fucking problems. I got a mortgage to pay time to deal with this. Fucking, I mean nonsense. You know. Yeah, not that. That's what came to look in conspiracy theories cuz then you think it's just all a funny game and you can like smoke weed and pontificate. But when you're really serious about politics and policy and ship that's just like the worst Yeah. Rather talk about Romans. Well, you know how much money is in it too? Although all the money on people just buying people's opinions and leveraging? This is, yeah, I mean I like to know about it interesting, it's fun. Yeah, yada yada but it's the end of the day. It's like, I know so many people that left La, so I'm losing. Olay you spoken liberal, and now they're calling me back, like, I miss her house, do you have a place your house? Yeah, that's a really what's going on people? I know friends left La Foster's place, fuk fuk these, these socialists and now they're off Ohio and you're like, hey man, place that I could open for you. I actually hate my job. Why the fuck did you leave like bro? Like what were you thinking? I mean, ya know for sure like you know cuz I'm whatever, you know, my situation but like I was in LA for a week last week and if you go to you're going to be like, why the fuck would you be anywhere else really dead? Well, there's a lot of huge homeless problem and, you know, there's a lot of stuff going on, but at the end of the day, like it kind of is right now, the epicenter of show business in New York. And also what big city doesn't have a homeless problem, your other than like another city, another country, where they put people in, jails do that. But like the homeless people are pretty much trained, not fuk with them. Yeah. Is it? They do, they'll get arrested or whatever. So I mean I mean when I lived in New York back in the day, the squeegee guys. You. Oh yeah. I was a fucking squeegee. Just starts going on with your car and then getting have a car. Start squeezing, you your work with the fuck and then Giuliani, I think came in, like, people like laugh about Juliana is he's a laughingstock when it comes to things like getting cleaning up New York, when I was growing quite a value. I mean, just heroin needles prostitutes. It was a fucking it was crazy. It was it really was and then killed off. Came in and he made all these rules that. Like if you were a strip club, you couldn't do with a hundred feet in the school, and it cleaned up. And then all he took on the mob, kind of one. And a lot of ways and made a TV show, you a New York, a lot nicer. Now, granted, he a lot of terrible policies. Gotta gotta gotta when you get a lot of good for New York to absolutely hate those people were like, oh, it was so much better. When like you walked outside your apartment, there was a guy wearing a long shot you in the face. That's in New York. I used to like, it's like fuck you. It's better safer. Any place is better safer. Okay, anything is better safer. I mean, I don't know. It's just it's crazy though. It's crazy. I don't know what I'm talking about right now, but it's Hector Lombard, had me going and twenty given fucking directions. So met him, by the way, I'm going to DM him, I'm going to be, like, send me that they use em. Like, you're talking about crazy, I don't know if that's, I have to, I don't know. I have to say that for myself to somebody like, you know, and I'm like, wow. When I was in Japan, they I was at the bar and they had this thing saying, America's not allowed because military guys getting into fights. And he couldn't have that here. Obviously, that's not every fucking bar. I did notice that like Asian racism towards each other was insane. We're oh yeah. Japanese fucking hate of the Koreans. Not all of them, but enough for you were like, well, like, if you was taking a bath because like, a Japanese person Korean or said, you know, konichiwa instead of Cassandra, they, they were fucking pissed Chinese..

"So much weight on your neck. Yeah. That's comfortable. Life changed to have a bunch of diamonds. Yeah. You know looking like it comes up and you look like a cloud. Speaking of clowns so celebrity boxing is trying to make Lamar Odom versus Riddick Bowe. Riddick Bowe is a former heavyweight champ of the page. You're trying to make him versus Lamar Odom. Lamar Odom, just beat Aaron. Carter. Who really wins that fight Hector Lombard? You know, I need to get guess, you know, you start with the questions and then you want, one of the Kardashians might come on, did they would be, they would be able to handle you actually, you know, she also booty, baby. Dead guys are, is fighting with Tristan Tristan kept cheating on Khloe and then tomorrow, you love hot bath, interests. And threatened Lamar. But Tristan was cheating, and you're going to like, it was crazy. I got to tell you something that nobody knows. Okay? Because, you know, I'm very smart guy, believe it or not, I'm I'm very we live in the room on the wrong times. ROM ROM is dominating America, believe it or not. You take a look at the dollar bill where you know they have em, you know, Roman numeral. Okay. Tell you like the Romans still running the hood. They ran the hood in Europe 4,500 years. Okay. Okay you listen to me. They took girls. Okay. And what what was what was the main thing in Rome? What was the main thing enroll? What was? Sex and alcohol and sex all over every month. So you like this is it, are you? Do you support this or? No, I feel like you're not, but I was just saying, like, this is what we living. That's true. I mean, you can't argue with that bill. He's got a lot of points. Yeah, have you ever seen the eagle, the eagle that the Romans had, when you conquer countries? Wow. Well, maybe they want massage baby, how much you spend on the internet at night on some of these like Forums on these like like the dark web. How much time do you spend on this site again? Nothing? Okay, so, all right now trying to get a final fight for fate or Bellator is asking. Wait, fate or walk straight off. He wants to have another fight in Bellator Bellator is trying to get people to pick the opponent. Josh Barnett wants to fight fate or choice and I think it's a good fight was supposed to happen. In Affliction Barnett's a guy that like has been around tough guy. Obviously if it was a tough guy but another guy named Jake Hager who used to go by Jack Swagger and the WWE are. Yeah that was I would I would really be able to Josh right I will give the judge and you know listen I'm afraid. Okay? I don't care if you have it, be for you or whatever. At the end of the day you have to leave by the truth, okay? If somebody's good and you know, somebody is goofing, even if you had to call, you have to admit that the guys who fight. Yeah, and if you hate give you, if you had a chick but she's a pretty, she got booty, and kitties you gotta say she pretty dead. So I truly believe like George Burnett the fight and Jon, Benet have a lot of history as a, you know, she was resume and you know, he's alleged. So you make that fucking fight with George back and nobody else I admire. I can be rolled like, always, I'm, I'm always wrong because I was just say the truth. Well, as what was wrong there, actually, like not telling you who failure is fighting but I agree. It should be Josh Burnett. And I think whoever dead Lands the first punch that win that fight to be honest. Hopefully, whatever. They they should be dumb for like they are often quite happened. What's that? Hector if you if you were built or you could pick a fight, who would you pick? I would like, I would like, I would like, you know, let you know, we need to, we need to solve this problem now, now, what happens? Okay, so if you want to know what happened was, Josh and Hector got into a very young age Andheri, Jim war. No, no, you tried to bully me and I don't get bullied by knowing me because my dad used to bully me and it was like, legendary, I mean, hours of them fight. Each other people, send me the truth. Tell me the truth. I was thinking, I'd rather you came in today. I'm going to go do whatever I want to fuck you up. A 170 Hector Lombard for a guy that's 250 at the gym. I mean, just shows you that like what he's saying, he doesn't take hear from anybody. I mean, but I mean both amazing Fighters. Both both two guys, Prime actor launched. I think he's dead. I mean, when you fought Jake Shields and through and Jake Shields is an amazing fighter and when you did to him I don't think there's a person on this planet that could have beaten you that night. I know. There hasn't there's nobody. I was just I was told I went back with her again. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then, you know, you know, Josh Barnett beat a prime Randy Couture. I mean, he beat, you know, Josh Burnett be some of the best guys in the world. So the fact that you guys even judgment judgment, yes, you know, and you cannot nobody can take that away from me. Nobody, and if you do, I would get money because truth is the truth, and people need to realize, like no matter what, always pick by the truth, it's the same way that I'm saying about politics, history. Anything file the truth. That's why I can care less. Like I said to you about Trump, I told you that for the fact for us, he was the best guy and I can care less about politics, you know, all the time that to me is calm my image. My, you know, I mean, I don't know how many Bank another fifty thousand followers. People love you for it. You got all these off. Is for the first time that I've made a post about this. You know, that that I post about Trump that I was happy. I lost fifty thousand followers at that time off. That's besides, that's besides they, they they.

"I was like saying I was like I go listen I go. So what's the deal like you does it to the strap on or to come off? You know, like I'm asking him. He's like no it comes off. He told me it comes off. Like, if I go through it, if you're ever getting robbed and somebody, like, hold you up, just like, take off your dick and just hold it up. That guy will run out. I mean, can you imagine like somebody to give your money? You're like, oh yeah, you take off your cock around like the guys that are run for the Hills, right? And laughing. I go, that can be, you could be like a superhero. Like I said, you really like a trans. We're like, you throw it at your dick in people's heads, you know, and the guys off the floor laughing. He's like, he's doing it, he's getting up and, like, going like this, I know if it's curved to be like a boomerang, we're like, like tell me, you don't think that would be like a great. We should do that sketch, like a cartoon for like a transgender superhero. Who's going to be off? He's got his dick, and he's getting robbed and then throws it to you and knocks you out. And then decided, if it's, if it comes on you or not, if it like anything else. People would love it, but white women will lose their minds. You think so many letters? You think? I mean, I think so because it's like, women just are looking for excuse to be offended by anything. But but it's it's like the hero though. But the person is the hero, right? Cuz he doesn't matter. Adam, where? I'll tell you where he did get offended, right? Cuz like, I was on the floor. Laughing at this, he did get offended when I I go. So what was your? His name is Zack. And I know what was your name before Zach? He was, please don't ask that. Yeah, then you can a guy named? Yeah, I didn't know that. And then and then he was like, he gave me a hug. I went back to, I went back to his, you know, being the superhero that's defensive. Did you know that? Well I do know that they call dead name. Like don't dead name obviously. Like if you called Caitlyn Jenner and Bruce Jenner. Yeah, that's like kind of disrespect, you know. Oh, that's great sport disrespectful than falling Caitlyn Jenner. He calling her Bruce. Yeah, I had no idea. I had I literally and then once he said he knew that too, so he wasn't really offended. He was probably, hey know, he was totally cool but but yeah, I was crazy. That was that was so Hector Lombard. It was joining us right now. He's driving here with Bill. Hector had built. So hilarious. Comedian Hector, was it a great job? Last week. Everybody was asking. When's Hector coming back. Uh-uh Hector came back. I think you left and then started making out with some girl. And then you left, there was a girl you would hugged on the way out. I don't know what was going on. Was the same girl. You just all of a sudden you were on the podcast. You kissed a girl or hugged her and then you were gone. So the typical day for Hector Lombard. How are you, what are you talking about wage? Yes, on Tuesday, you were on the show and then you walk into a gym. You hugged some girl you kiss. I don't even, can't you give her a hug and then you were gone. It was like you were like a he would like a huge row and then you just you just left. So I should have said. Okay. Okay, okay. All right. Okay, so Hector, how are you man? What's going on. I think we need to finish the conversation that we had the other day. I told you before, and I keep telling you listen, yeah, couldn't be a better player. The USC quarterback. Yes. Now the big thing and order against the fight could be, you know, you know, how are you gonna fight? You know, you lost the fight. Either way, blah, blah blah. No, I think it's got to be holy Mera. Yep, dead now. Okay number for Hector. Conor McGregor. Today said, he was hurt going into the fight. He said he was hurt going in a fight. He told me he had a bad knee. He almost pulled out. He says, he told Dana, he told the doctor is this smart for him to say this cuz I'm like, where is where is he? Winning my boss saying this building? They are building. They are building infrastructure, right? Once you've been doing it for structure, it's all about catching. Yep, that makes sense. You're making a lot of sense. You making a lot of sense, your bill and then you you collect. Yeah, but there's no way data likes hearing that he was told that there was an injury. Has gotta be like, come on, what are you blaming me for shouldn't honor? Cuz his coach Connors coach said he was fighting beautifully. He said, let me remind you. Let me remind you, let me remind you talking about budgeting. Yes. In fact you know getting it pulled out with a bunch of prostitutes getting baby Mama's on the side and let's sit right. Yep. Yep. Yep only he works. Jon Jones. Let's see. You can, you can only be one corner, he does whatever the fuck you want. I mean, Jon Jones. They moved the whole event for him and he tested positive for something they like, all right, we're not having to fight in Vegas anymore or we're going. I mean he's a guy that you could argue that, maybe he also gets a special treatment. I know, I know, between those two 1/4 Mile off. I don't see why doesn't fighting downhill. You think he's scared of him, got him seeing his carriage and got nobody home when I get paid because if he loses, you know, at least you guys a big right? You know what I mean? But he's got a. I mean yeah. But these guys already have so many trucks ready. Have like he must have these guys must have twenty million dollars. I mean, how much money I can make a hundred thousand last me. 5 years, I mean barely like twenty million. Twenty minutes, don't know. you know, you see all these boxes they they get paid be I mean I'm in a single spot like you know, You want to get paid, and I feel like, you know, fighters to get pay more because there's no easy what we do. It's the hardest thing in the world, especially MMA cuz you, you know, I say that all the time I go MMA, you have to learn six different fucking Sports, you know, her boxing or Wrestling Judo Judo. You got money, you have to my account. That is same thing, sports involving, intimate thing. It sounds sounds really good, like a Ten Commandments, that's very odd, 10 commandments or bush lies. Beneficial. And that you have to do conditioning, which is like another free. Yeah. But by the way, how do you do that? Because sometimes I look at your pictures and took like your 270, I mean not fat, but you look big and then you get down to like one. Eighty-five for your fights you must cut like what Thirty pounds and like a week. How do you how do you cut this way? Yeah. Mm. It's all the sex, Adam, all the sex of those women you see em on this is not the guy Bill fucking.

"Brooke. Is that guy off? What's that people? Got a Brandon m, a roasted podcast. I'm here with Bill. Who he's, you know, he's living in Texas. I guess when in Texas you know you got a cowboy hat wage. You know. It's weird to wear Cavill or how we can't really grow. Facial hair. I gotta be honest of interest but you look good. Bill is a brown belt. Okay. And how long is a badass? Have you have you rolled out in Texas yet or no, I have I actually I shouldn't name names but I did roll one one Dojo here and the teacher I was like beating him. So I was like, I can't roll here. What's the main Professor? But if he was, but he was like, the surrogate teacher and I was like beating him was like what the fuk I want to roll here. He's a black bulb. No, I don't think. I think it was a brown belt buckle still? I was like, it's the brown belt Stacy. He's got to be a fucking Feast. Did that happen kind of a at this High School where they had a new wrestling coach came in and the kid the senior dog. Came in and just beat the living shit out of them. With first day, I'm like, why did you wrestle this kid? Like, cuz I like knew the guy had a Restless, like twenty years. I mean, and then the kid transferred schools like should be like right away next day. He's a, what am I gonna learn from this guy? But, you know, that's hilarious. At the same time, I mean, look there's a philosophy and then there's like, you know, a guarantee Michael Jordan with poor on life, you know, his on like Phil Jackson, you know, Phil Jackson. But at the same exact was a pretty damn good basketball player so bad. But like Jeff gave Bundy was a good coach, but he was a great player. So I, you know, so there's that, I don't know if you heard a couple, what were your thoughts of the McGregor fight? Bill. Great. This is awesome. You mean, by the way, I can't see you. And I can barely even know. See you. And I can't hear you what's going on. I got here. Y'all are y'all I'm just, So anyway, the McGregor fight, yes? I mean, come on what's not to say about it was my FIT. First of all, if you could have written a script for a guide to go out like a bigger bitch, you couldn't have written one worse than what happened, about like the biggest bitch on the fucking planet and I used to like it now, I think he's a punk. Well, it came out today. He's saying that he, he knew he was injured going in. He told Dana White House that he was injured and and you know he's saying that I had stress fractures fractures in my leg, going into that cage. He says he had told he goes off injured, going to the cage. People are asking me was to leg broke at what point do the like break a stay at a white ask U of C officer Davidson the head. Doctor UFC. I had stress fractures in my leg, going to go back home. It was debated about pulling of thing out because I was far inland ocean pads and I kicked Annie few times. So, I multiple fractures in the shin bone above the ankle, all right? Couple of things problematic, with that number, If he won what he was saying that what he was, you know, he would have, said, look, I won but I also had stress, right? I mean, sometimes you do have guys that say, well, look, I broke my hand a week ago or I broke my nose. I couldn't far but I still won. McGregor is not the kind of guy do that and he would have done then. Let's see what like that. Kind of injury. You would one thing if you break your nose like I couldn't far but all I had practice. Okay. Number one, number two. Okay, so why are you kicking the guy as hard as you can in the leg? If you know you have stress fractures cuz he, he kicked him like, what? Like, 20 times as hard as he could. So what kind of strategy is that? That's a terrible strategy. If you already have stress, maybe you should avoid getting kicking, someone leg or something off. Stretch on the left leg to. That's what he's saying, right? Yeah, so so, so that. So that's number two, and number three, You didn't say anything. Leading to the fights you said you were to put in a coffin. You were going to bet you going to put them in a what I mean, you know, you were going to kill them. You do all these things. So now, why should I believe you? The next pay-per-view that you have that what you said. You're going to murder the guy. How do I know you another broken foot? A broken arm broken? Like so there's no winning here. Connor like and then also you're making Dana look bad. You're making the UFC look bad and and it's just what do you do now? You're like you're throwing everyone else. Under the bus, just take into account because his coach said he was looking great. Look, I personally think before he, he like off guard for the guillotine, it was looking great in the beginning, he was actually looking pretty good. He was actually looking really good. Why would you try to pull off when the hardest submissions to get in MMA? You guys Guillotine, Emma is. If you are an idiot in specialist, that shit is hard in Aggie. I mean yes and no love. I mean sales sudden his Shogun with it. I mean Shogun probably has been around the ground in Chelsea. Is, I mean he's a strong guy McGregor's a really strong guy and if he were to hit it, if the guy went a tab to it, obviously then I mean didn't khabib also have him know. He had to be better right now with. Um, look it didn't work, I didn't work. But if I were to work, we were to be like, wow, holyshit kind of had a new, you know, a new trick up his sleeve necessarily fault them for that long but just look, it wasn't your night. It wasn't your night shift, went wrong and I was giving him more credit for fighting with a broken leg. Before he keeps saying all this, shyt before you saying I'm going to murder your your wife and your kid and you you say kid. I don't know where I'm going to murder you and your wife and your sleep which is like I guess you can't do it when the guys awake but he he's he was going to bring his wife to. Yeah. Is it a murdering his wife in their sleep before he said that before he's blaming injury? I was like, man, this guy's pretty fucking tough fighting half around on one leg, you know, like dead. Was actually, you know, now it's making me. You're not, you're tweeting or deleting it's almost like. And then Kavanaugh has coach said, it was busy for beautifully and not boxing his head off, but I'm like so now people are saying, well, he's surrounded by yes-men. Like, the problem is, is that he has Yes, Man. And I don't know, I mean, look, Mike Saunders saying, look, McGregor is a great, great. A lot of great things. He's a great athlete. We have the better guy, we have the more skilled guy. It does seem that way right now at the same time I have like to seen a second-round a third-round. I mean Morris. I mean, people are saying that they're looking, they're using the Michael Chandler Charles Oliveira. McGregor fans are saying, look, even if you consider the first attend a room, which arguably it was, I mean two or three judges had it at any around. Oh, it was a 10-day for for you at the first round. Really wonder if you guys had a 10-8 right. Wow. So let's say that. That thought That's the case, you know, Michael Chandler had elovera, a 10-8 round two, and so what happened? So it's because you lose a ten, a round, doesn't mean you can't come back and when it happens all the time. Yeah, of course, I mean, McGregor would have been better off, just just saying nothing cuz I don't know if he can be Poirier, but he can make a very competitive fight and he has that power. Okay, so adamantly this has anyone ever come back from an injury like this to become a champion? Like a full-on broken. What was ankle broken. His shinbone. I'm people are saying anyway, ever come back from a fall on break like.

"But they led into big suit. Get away with it. Come on, he pulled the same shit. He just make a snotty comment to the reporters, you know, him guys. The fucking reporters, you know, they're there to blow themselves. Yeah, so she's she's a wrestler. I guess. She's a professional wrestler or some sort. I don't know. No, it's not a rabbit. She was, I don't know. Yeah, well, she was young, everybody at like she was trending because I'm like, look, I gotta do and the people with Journal people were like twelve thousand dollars a year doing but but on her defense like life isn't fair, you know, life isn't fair. You gotta like, I don't know, d23 fucking years and there are people who have Tic Toc following a year into it headlining sucking Helium, Comedy Club an improv comedy club and I can sit there going. This is bullshiting, it couldn't bother me, but I have to know. Life is fucking fit. Their got this person has a million jobs that thing. It's all about check with me. In ten years. I'll still be in this. I'll still be doing comedy, I don't think they will. I don't think they will. So, you know, you have to look at as like the law. Game also. But anyway, she wasn't bad looking for a pot. You know, she wasn't bad looking. So here's the deal. You're upset cuz you're not from the camera behind the camera lose fifty pounds, get some fucking make up one, get a real hairstyle, you know, do something with yourselves. I just makes a good point there, you know, it's like, you have to stop. Stop digging that lights going to be fair, because it's not, it's not fair. And once you and once you accept the package. There to be honest in a lot of ways off.

"Anybody can get it. I don't know if you just gave up and what's the fifth round, he was going was going for broke. I'm like, what the fuck of these guys talking about? And there's so many wage are held, there are so many better guys. I'd rather Hector Lombard analysis any day of the week than any of those years and it makes no. I think what you're seeing there is also ESPN has never really embraced UFC and so they don't really have the people on staff that they should the shuttle list to appropriately address and that's the problem. They've always treated you have seen like, it's a secondary bullshit Sport and they need to fucking come around Hector. They do, you know where the proper, exactly? They want to sit there and they're like, oh, we have this guy, we've got this guy already, and it's like, but these guys aren't and then analyst and they just have never really invested in MMA. They've never really wanted a recognized. I would like you said, it should be Hector myself up there, you know, sharing our expertise, and we've done it. We've been them. If she had done that, she should have Jose. I have it right as much as you guys, this clown, let me splain, let me explain you, how old is girls work with explaining you how these clowns would be relevant? Explain, what's the matter? If you are talking about us? It doesn't really matter. If you're taking an old man, it doesn't really matter. And then the guy is going to be I know the Division champion and everybody was thinking that I was crazy. See that shit happened. But now God let me let me go back and say this to you. I thought Connor showed what a piece of white trash. He is and I'm a Conor McGregor fan. Are you? He shot himself in the foot and some stuff from the phone Hector. What do you think? Hey listen. I'm a, I'm a huge. I'm a huge fan of dumb ass, but I'm going to tell you right now. I mean, he was saying my favorite fight was when you know in Japan. You know how bout yourself. Gosh. It was like one of my favorite. One of my favorite highlights three levels. Yes, that's true. I know. Now, do you think they should run this fight back? Because listen, know I kind of do because even though even though it Dustin Poirier one and whether he talked off like it wasn't, I still want to see what would have happened in the second round third round before. It wasn't that conclusive that he would have dominated was your choice. Crazy. He was being Connors ass and then that was just the end of it and Connor doesn't deserve another fight Dustin's that didn't need to tell them to go fuc. He wanted the dog, he wins the trilogy..

"It's going to be a great show today or waiting for McCorkle to come on and we're waiting for we have Hector Lombard, coming later today Hector really wants to come on show. So recently in like bare knuckle or something he did he? Yes he wanted back. And uncle and then, and then he some guy came into the, into the, the cage or the ring, and then he like cracked him in the face. He like punched a guy three times. So he, he actually, I was going to say that sounds like a a dream come true. It was him. So he he needs your eggs every night. The guy afterward. Well, he's not, he's not them back. Some big dude. Got in his face was not as in Hector was like, I think he was going to say. I think that's going to be the hardest part about being one of these total badasses is that when people see you out in public, they're like, this is my shot at the title was actually in the rain. It was in the ring, the guy know, but I'm just saying, like they have to live with all the time, you know what I mean? Like, you mean, I just finish the fight and another guy steps in his, like, bite me. It's like, I'm just looking for this motherfucker way. It looks like if we went finished doing the show and then somebody just walked up to us with the bike was dead. All right, you said you were next, you know, and you're like, I don't I just finished an hour with the fucking get them fucking bike out of my face. I know what he does. Some guys that are good to like, step in, like cut a promo, kind of odd, but that's not Hector Lombard. That's not the guy you want. That is not the guy. He is not the guy it done before him, he just got, he said, wait a minute..

"Lombard, NASCAR or free appraisal today or call for 15781 56 94 157815690 Witter coins on Lombard Street in San Francisco. Did. States are often met with some skepticism. After all, In most cases, the president hasn't written the speech himself. And yet one thing not challenged is that a president is expressing exactly what he believes with that in mind. Let me say President Biden's speech honoring fallen service members yesterday at Arlington National Cemetery was an absolute gem. Lines that stick out. Our democracy itself is in peril here at home and around the world. What we do now how we honor the memory of the fallen will determine whether or not democracy will long endure. It's impossible for me to hear Biden's words about honoring the sacrifices of generations of service members without recalling his predecessors, comments and actions when he canceled a visit to honor American war dead at the A and more in American cemetery near Paris in 2018. As reported in the Atlantic. Then President Donald Trump blamed the rain for the last minute decision, saying that the helicopter couldn't fly and that the secret Service wouldn't drive him there. Neither claim was true. The real reason Trump canceled the visit was because he feared his hair would become too shoveled in the rain, and because he wondered, why should I go to that cemetery? It's filled with losers, according to the Atlantic, in a conversation with senior staff members on that trip. Trump also referred to the 1800 Marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood in World War one as suckers for getting killed with the putrid stench of Trump's true feelings for the American military personnel fresh in our minds, it's reassuring to hear our current president, expressing views that are the polar opposite. What Trump has never understood our words like patriotism service sacrifice. Another word. Biden used in a speech yesterday that Trump is thoroughly devoid of is empathy. As Biden pointed out, empathy is the fuel of democracy, our willingness to see each other, not his enemies. Even when we disagree, and to understand what the other is going through. I find it difficult to hear these words and not only think of the Trump Biden schism. Also the tone deafness of the Republican Party in Congress. January 6th insurrection was without question one of the worst days in American history. To think that a president of the United States would encourage the mob is frightening to see members of Congress have their lives threatened for not being part of this hateful president's plan. Is avert democracy is sickening. I'd be more than willing to be wrong and publicly accept that I might be going too far. But I'm not as proof. I simply point to the fact that the GOP has seen to it that we cannot even have a bipartisan investigation of the storming of the capital on January six. No wonder President Biden in his remarks yesterday, worried for democracy. The president and his speech writers knew how his words would be interpreted by us. Of course, politics comes into play on essentially everything coming out of Washington, D C. But good for him. Memorial Day is a perfect opportunity to examine our values. I'm proud to say we have a president who is like the vast majority of us proud of the military and proud of what this country is all about. Nonetheless, as CNN's Chris Eliza writes, Americans tend to believe that democracy is too powerful and idea to fall into disrepair. The last four years, however, have proven how tenuous a whole democracy has on the public and that if we don't fight for truth, fairness and facts were in danger of losing them forever. The Crazy Lives of Fay Wray and Robert Riskin
"Fay ray, and the screenwriter Robert riskin, they were an early Hollywood power couple. They each had a very lasting legacy in that town this town. Ray fay ray more people know she's more easily, you know, in definable. She she's the most famous scream queen of them all if you want to get technical. And Robert riskin probably considered the father of the romantic comedy. So they were quite a couple. I mean, men loved fay ray before she was with risking. She was married to a guy named John monk Saunders who was a Rhodes scholar who wrote the story for the first best picture Oscar winner wings, he ended up taking all of her fucking money and kidnapping their daughter. Jesus, later fay ray has a love affair with the playwright Clifford O debts. He's no slouch. And then she starred on stage opposite Archibald leech, and he fell head over heels in love with her, and this was before he changed his name to Cary Grant. Gary Cooper was hot and bought all the Fay Wray. They were in a few films together. But Robert risking a little less recognizable, but like I said, he penned great stuff. He wrote the Frank Capra movies meet John Doe, mister deeds goes to town and it happened one night with Claudette Colbert and Clark Gable. He actually invented the term doodle for mister deeds. Actually, when Adam Sandler remade mister deeds, he kept enough of the original script to give Robert riskin a screen credit. It's pretty cool. But brisket was no slouch himself. He had a lot of pussy after him. Loretta Young Carol Lombard, who Clark Gable went bananas for and when he died, still wanted to be buried next to her, even though they hadn't been together for years and Clark cable had remarried after her. "Has been a year since the country learned about the first Corona virus outbreak in the nation at a Kirkland nursing home. Covert 19 ravage the Life care center this week, King County health officials announced. This is the first week without a single case reported from a long term care facility in the county since the outbreak began. Almost Michelle Esteban reports on the hope and healing. Oh, this whole week has been emotional Nurse Kathy Lombard is back where it all started. First covert 19 outbreak in the country. The first known covert death in the U. S. They're going to come back. You have no hesitation about going back. And then it is her first time back to the life care center of Kirkland in the years just to be here. And to see the people I took care of. She found one of the patients right away to sing her smile made me happy for Kathy. It is essential to remember the first victims the ones taken by Covitz. What significance does this place have for you? A lot of love. Is a lot of love shown here for the residents. One year ago, she volunteered to work inside. What had quickly become known as the epicenter of Corona virus was one of the first ones to volunteer to come here. And I'm glad I did. And she worked for the life care center in Puyallup when she learned the Kirkland facility had been ravaged by the coronavirus patients, and even more staff were testing positive here. I called here. Hey, I want to help. I want to be there helping you. Within three hours of that call. She was inside the baker unit at the life Care center assigned to 18 patients, her family and friends worried for her safety. She never got sick, right? I never really worried about. It was just too busy to even really think about it because there was work that needed to be done. Lombard knew 10 of the residents who lost their lives. It's hard. You just know that you did the best you could for them, and she could have been on the inside and seeing how hard we were working. But a federal inspection home found critical issues inspector said. "Sorry about that. No no carry on carry. This guy is. Our chemistry is very awkward when it comes to all the time so far so good you know john. That's different. Yeah it's it's another think scary with roles. You've played before gary my finger puppet he comes everywhere with me. I got him in one thousand nine hundred hundred. He's been everywhere gross. I wash them. So are you selling a perfect. That's all right can carry on doing so with pink is in. Yes yeah sure. Yeah yeah. it's a great show. We're where did you. So was her inspiration from the show like women's prison at one point got emails by the. Oh yes sorry. I know some of the background. Sorry so this good. So i i get to find out things just asked. Yeah so what would that. You have to start because Well actually i was approached by Woman named lisa crawford and she said she had she had been on a. She played a prison guard in a in a mockumentary. That has show that just came out. It's called new eden. And while she was there she started saying she's she's a south african woman and she said that she had never seen a comedy about about a prison. So i said well there's actually some cold. Orange is the new black. But i said but if you but she said then she replied oh and then but anyway so i said you but you know what if you don't focus on the inmates and you make them more about that the administration. Then you've got an angle you gotta niece so we pulled it. She pulled everything together. We shot a little ninety sucking trailer and that was the end of it. I walked away. And i carried on with my sad little life and a couple of months later she called she goes well. I got deal. i'm like what. Oh wow and so. She asked me to write an episode which turned into four which turned into eight. And now it's turned into twelve. So yeah it's been pretty cool so the first four have come out and as of last night Apparently it's the number one show on this just a little network. But it's it's it's it's number one in the of the most favoured show at the moment so and then the ideas that they kind of watch it and see how it does and then they bumped up to the bigger networks so That's what we're open for anyway. But yeah it was quite shocking to me to be honest because you you do. I've done a million to these kinds of things where you right and do a little demo and and then it's like that's the end of it it pass it around and everybody goes while this is a really crap idea. We're like okay. Perfect and then you move onto the next one but this one. She's child was dropped the phone she said. Yeah yeah okay. I got a green light. I'm like what so. Yeah so it's Came about kind of odd way. But it's it's it couldn't be more fun attrition for example because i know we we all know. Her was hilarious to work with talented. And such a nice person and So i can't wait to to start shooting the next episodes and Yeah we'll see what happens so when you you did like the trailer or the insurance that pilot episode where did you draw the storyline in appraising female. So that's an interesting question. Actually so i've always been interested in comedy when i was a kid. You know my my mom and dad would would take us to the drive in all the time. And i've seen all the jerry lewis stuff and family big comedy types. Mike myers went to my high school. I did. I did not know him but he you know there's lots of funny around me my whole life. You know howie mandel went to my high school. you know. There's a number of guys that did well. There's another guy named maurice lamarche that went to my high school and you probably don't know his name but you've heard his voice a million times on family guys on know on the simpsons. He's on future ramsey's pinky i think from thinking in the brain yup so he you know. He went to my high school so comedy. All around you know so I started to write and And then finally went non. I gotta do this right. So i got on a plane and i went to england and i. I signed up for school there. I went to thames valley university in london england and learned how to write comedy. 'cause i love british comedy it's to me. It's the best. So i show up on the first day of school and they talking and they're all talking about everybody. Loves raymond and king of queens. And i'm like what the hell's wrong with you. People british comedies. The best you know and then they said well. We like frazier. So then i found common ground because i think frazier's really well written but i'm a huge fan of british comedy and what's really interesting is all the reviews we got for pinkas in almost all of them have said. Wow this has got a real british vibe to it. So that's a huge compliment to me. Because i love that stuff like a big fan of the it crowd. Or i don't know if you know that show it's brilliant little britain. I don't know if you know little britain. Yeah they're they're really funny shows and they're they're out there you know. The british humor is just out there. i'm alan partridge and i'm saying maybe you don't know these shows that maybe some of your listeners do. I'm alan partridge is another one green wing and anyway the list goes on and on and i'm a big fan. Ricky chavez i to be honest i've never seen the american version of the office but i saw the british version and it's so brilliant it's so brilliantly written and and then he did one called extras which is about background extras and background. Extra for years. You know it was great way to pay some bills and You know and connect with people. And i was also i was also a stand in for a few movies as well so It taught me you know just being on sets it just you just watch and learn what's going on. A stand is standards as a non set on the set kind of person a standing. Is that something that you sent accused for. When when the actor comes on being and the position is that what that is. You're absolutely right. Yeah so the last thing i did was cry. I can't think of his name. He was the guy stood in four was a does. Name's david through lists and david through list apparently in the harry potter movies. And he's in one of my favorite movies. Which i'm sure you gentlemen of seen called the big lebowski. Yeah he's he's in the big lebowski he's the guy that just laughs like an idiot constantly but point of the stories that yeah you're right you you you're basically So.

"Let's listen. I don't have a story about stone inch we'll have to make something up Yeah but it was fascinating and they're discovering there's more of it than they realized. i mean. They're starting to see these bizarre runway things that they didn't realize were there and actually some of the stones. This kind of cool. Some of the stones are missing because about one hundred years ago. They didn't realize what this was. They would take the stones and put them in the local houses like make fences and stuff out of this super old rock that you can't even find in the area but they didn't realize what it was at the time zone key imagine mansion being the guy that had to go to those houses and bakke. Listen sort of bug you but You know the rock. That's been there a hundred years. We need it house. Go back we have to move in did you. So did you learn those types of things when you went to visit stonehenge something learn after actually with with regards to stone. Gee didn't know much about it. I just knew something we're supposed to go and see and it was pretty mindblowing. But no i to be honest. No i didn't know a whole lot about it. I'm really fascinated about like the whole thing with because there are theories you know could be easily could have been you know other people that live there. The people are the earth under the earth. You never know trump was on your nose. I won't read it. I said i'll listen to it. You should just look at the pictures if it's not a picture book and it's not on video audio doesn't exist. It doesn't work. I also see here that you've been in. Twenty commercials is that a lot of those were in canada. Maybe or we're working only a couple of we're in the us. I did a michelob light commercial. That was sort of a regional chicago illinois type thing but Yeah so Everything i did. It was actually a funny. Do you know black label beer. Is that an american owner anyway. What happened to me was because i was in a band. The sort of long long blond hair semi muscular looking dude. You know so. I was in every beer commercial. And then all of a sudden all of a sudden this black label beer came out and it was all very very dark and brooding. Everything was shot in black and white and then my agent goes yeah. You've probably never gonna work again because they finished with the long haired blonde dude drinking beers and they've gone to the sort of dark brooding. Look and so yeah. I was very lucky. I did a whole bunch of stuff. Kentucky fried chicken the usual general motors stuff. Cookie commercials cereal commercials. can't even remember viewed as the colonel dressed as a chicken. But yeah i mean when nowadays at least the newer commercials there. It's it's always like a celebrity in turn as the colonel. Now yeah right right no mine. Mine wasn't quite that I remember my line in that commercial. It was a kfc thing. And i was supposed to be a rock star player and just go. Somebody hands hands me a chicken sandwich or something. And i go. Oh man. it's only ninety nine cents. I was it above twenty nine weeks. And i think they all sounded the same. Yeah anyway that was. That was my moment of glory for for. Kfc when they do that is is like annoying or like you mean the twenty eighth no to be honest because usually the peso great and you think this is just leading to a role next leonardo dicaprio or something. No actually. it's not. It's it's it's a lot of fun and i was really lucky to get a bunch of stuff i played drums in. I don't know if you remember a movie called eddie. And the cruisers sounds awful. Yeah it was a pretty big film they made a sequel eddie lives and it was it was eddie and the cruisers to and i was the drummer who gets kicked up the band and how fittings you know so But anyway so excited you know. I played in. I forget they hit. The song was by the bieber brown band and it was a big hit. That i played played drums on in the movie. I didn't do the recording of it. And so i'm waiting for the movie to come on of all excited of all excited and the movie comes out and i look at the reviews in the newspaper and the toronto sun's review of the film was somewhere somehow. Somebody's made a movie worse than this. But i don't know when a brutal it was absolutely unwatchable so when you did you read the script prior to taking the role here like. Did you think like we read that. You're like this. Might this might be something. Awesome all everything. Yeah i mean you you truly hope everything is awesome but you you get there and you realize there's a heck of a lot of luck involved because even if it reads well as script many phases of has to go through it comes out and it's like a churn and what happened from the paper to the finished product. Will you make a little comment. They're like it kind of felt a little similar to a life experience. Maybe that's why i was asking like. Did you feel like you would fit this role perfectly. Well no to be honest. That my my of the game You just happy to get a part and my agents going. You're not turning anything down. You know so and so i was lucky enough to to get in that film but it just. It just wasn't a particularly good picture. And that kim. I'm looking at nine hundred. Eighty nine one thousand hundred shot at montreal and actually the lead actor. He was a really nice guy. he's still around doing stuff. His name's michael parade. Yeah you probably see him. If you look him up he's done a ton of stuff but supernet scott carr gone now gone girl. That was the ben affleck would ask. Yes that's the most recent one lincoln lawyer that's cool. He's in lincoln lawyer. That's what it says really. Wow that's a good film detective. Okay yeah yeah. I gotta be on top right and bottom. It's getting weird now quite all right so now that.

We would love to hear any us for sure well primarily. i was Toured around canada. I'm living. I live just west of toronto and So mostly would know anything. I've done simply because we were here in in canada but i did have abandoned los angeles in the nineties called big big time and it was a pop rock thing with two drummers and big on the vocal department kind of along the lines of def leppard and as with all bands it eventually imploded. Because we had you know five guys Living in a two bedroom apartment in In on lana guy. Don't offer los angeles but We lived on cnn. Got melrose so we had like four cars and we had five guys in the band and of course the singer always has to have his girlfriend there so she came down and of course she had two dogs so you know it was only a matter of time before there was going to be an incredible explosion of of egos and so the band eventually imploded. But it was a good time. I man i can tell you lots of stories about living on those. Those top ramen noodles the four dollar ones eight a lot of those and then figure out. Travel to Lombok, Indonesia
"Today? We're GONNA talk about lumberjack. The island of Lombok in Indonesia. Okay let's put it on a map first of all. I'm not sure that everybody can find Indonesia on a map but we're in the Western Pacific that's right in between the Pacific. Can the Indian Ocean. But where is the island of Lombok. Usually the way I tell people to locate Lombok is most people have heard of Bali and Bali. Alley is the island directly east of Bali in the the sort of archipelago of Indonesia which is more or less near the center of the Indonesian is winds. And that's where it is right next to the Bali. Okay and it right next to Bali and then also not that far from the Allen de Jakarta is is on. The name of that island escapes me for the moment at Java Java Java actually said it was near the center it's actually not news and draw wasn't considering Sumatra which is the largest of the islands and another interesting place to explore but you have Java which is the largest of the Indonesian islands rubs up against Peninsular Malaysia Asia. If you follow it east. You hit Carta in the island of Java next to Java you have Bali and then right after Bali a little further east you have lumbar well and people have heard about most of those islands. We're talking about except potentially Lombok. Why are we talking about Lumbar? Well for one and I guess we're talking about it because I just spent five weeks there with my family A couple months ago. We've spent a good deal of time in various parts of Indonesia. We'd he'd heard good things about Lombok and the reasons I would suggest going is especially for those who have been Bali. Feel that it's becoming overdeveloped overdeveloped and maybe in all the baggage that comes with that Lombard is a is a simpler place. It's less developed even though it is starting to gain tourism dollars too little sleep beer but it still has a lot of the same charm in the natural wonders of what you would find in Bali now as you know Oh and many of your listeners. Probably Know Bali Hindu island smack in the middle of of Indonesia which is a predominantly Muslim country. Right Lombok is not long is a Muslim. As Long Island nation may be island. Nation is too strong a word but I mean before Indonesia was a country all of these islands were at their own distinct cultures. Their own distinct getting ethnic tribes as well and so that element of Lombok. We found to be very interesting to have. It has a touch of the tropical paradise that Bali is but it comes from a completely different cultural background. And I don't know the history of the country of Indonesia but I'm guessing that it was conglomerates during the colonial period under into the Dutch. That's true okay. With my also limited knowledge of that these were all their own countries but then the Dutch spice merchants and colonists lists made it into one place far as I know there are still tensions between one part of Indonesian another in very vast cultural and linguistic differences assist between them for example on Lombok the predominant at this is the sack people and Sasa has their own language their own food their our own customs that you would not find in say Sumatra or Java or any of the other islands. Okay what kind of activity do you recommend mend for Lombok Guano you like to Kinda give a week long itinerary and give you a week or two weeks. Of course. We're going someplace relatively remote here. I'll give you an ambitious week or or perhaps a solid two week itinerary. I think most people would fly into to Lombok even though you can also I should say that a lot of people. We'll take speedboats or slow boats over from Bali. It's that close okay. We're talking twenty minutes. Thirty minutes on a speedboat or less. Oh Wow okay. So it's it's very Mary clubs. I would start in the Sing Gigi area which is to the West. The airport is in the sort of the southwestern region. Sing cing Gigi. Beach is a beach area to the west the island and in Kuta not to be confused with Bali Kuta but there is a Kuta area to to the south of the island. Both of these have exceptional snorkeling surfing scuba diving. I think that would be probably the easiest a place to start if you just WanNa have some laidback beach time. Okay I'm guessing if we don't want some laid back beach time. We probably shouldn't be spending our time and going all the way to Indonesia that that's part of what you come here for. I would think so. We certainly do an mason kind of strange especially if we started talking travel. We've lived in a lot of islands in beach areas. We're not actually big beach. People like that we burn easily. And I'm we. I'm talking about my family. Because aren't we have altogether all the time. I burn easily the sun and sand and all of that but I love beaches at night but we are big water. People would have my kids love to surf. My kids like snorkeling is. I'm sure I'll mention in the interview. They both got their junior patty scuba diving lessons while during this trip. And there's all of those kinds of things while you're in the Gigi area speaking of kind of water one of the things that we really like to do more than saltwater as we like freshwater what are we like streams and waterfalls and Lombok is just riddled just like Bali and a lot of ways lots of beautiful tropical waterfalls in rainforests and forest. And they're reachable. You you can hire a driver or as we do we rent scooters and with all the risks that that entails and I could get into that if you needed to we probably should. We probably should. Because it's good that you know that but I'm not sure that everybody who rents scooters understands that there are some some risks involved in scooter. Travel saying you shouldn't do it but you should be aware of it so when you say you rent scooters with all the risks involved tell me a little more about your thought process process year. You're traveling with two kids. I recall a wife and yourself and you're on to scooters for scooters one scooter the typical Indonesia uh-huh in Vietnam. We were all four on one scooter. But when we are in most places it's better to have to scooters in one parent in in one child. I think what you're getting at is traffic in southeast. Asia is is is a little hectic. It doesn't follow all the rules. Stop Lights and you are just suggestions. Yes right there are parts of Indonesia that I would not ride a scooter in Sumatra. We've have never ridden written a scooter at least in northern Sumatra where we've been because the roads were in poor condition. Plus there's lots of construction equipment logging trucks trucks. You don't want to have to be run off the road those kinds of things now. That being said in Lombok just like in Bali the roads are in pretty good condition and if you have experienced riding riding scooters in this kind of environment I would recommend it that being said a lot of travel insurance companies will not cover any sort of accidents or damages damages if you do not have a scooter motorcycle license in your home

There are a lot of forces pulling at U._S.. Companies Right now on the one hand. You've got slower global growth. You've got trade issues on the other hand. There are positive things like the Fed might lower interest rates. The big question is how are companies coping with it all. Are we GONNA see generalized growth in here over.
