"Six this afternoon. More now on our top story that situation inside a UPS warehouse in Logan township Gloucester county. It's over the gunman has been shot apparently by. Police the hostages he suspected of taking our okay it unfolded over several hours this morning until just before noon is we were on the air with a news conference from the Gloucester county prosecutor David Madden who was at the UPS facility about ten minutes away from the Logan township building where that news conference was happening. He heard shots fired as police brought the hostage situation to an end minutes. After David brought us word of that. The prosecutor is back at the Mike's confirming it had been resolved. Now, the scene has shifted to a hotel nearby and David is there and with us live. They've. And I'll tell you what the seems to be shifting from here to another location because the last of the UPS evacuees have been taken out in a couple of vans presumably to go back to their cars, and maybe go home for the day to be able to kind of unwind after all. This went down that we have had opportunity to speak to a couple of people here among them. A woman who says she is the niece of the hostage holder does not know very much about what's going on. But said she wanted to make sure that her uncle was, okay? And that everything was going down as well. As it could in this situation. We did speak to a truck driver who does not work for UPS, but was on scene when this all developed firstly just after eight thirty the man the alleged well, the hostage older went into the facility started to shoot one of the workers push the panic button which alerted authorities to the to the situation. Swat teams to the scene. And there were several dozen people who did get out of there before this man took to win one said to be his former girlfriend hostage and that led to this three and a half hour hostage situation. Needless to say, there is a lot of people here who are just breathing. A sigh of relief is all over that. They got out of there. Police and the Gloucester county prosecutor will have a whole heck of a lot to investigate here. But the those who were involved in the crosshairs early on they are in are heading home right now. Thanks, david. David madden. With us. Live in Logan township lost your county at the end of this hostage situation. Now, the investigation goes on.

Prosecutor Charles Fiori says it quickly evolved into what he describes as a barricading situation with those two hostages. He points out. All other people were safely evacuated from that sprawling UPS building while the hostage negotiating team talk to the man by telephone. But has he was updating reporters here at the Logan township municipal building about eight minutes away from the scene. That about three and a half hours into the situation the events quickly change at Fieri updated reporters on fast moving developments. I've just been advised in verified that the matter has been resolved through the intervention of the Gloucester county prosecutor's office and other law enforcement. So the man was shot in by the swat team as they moved in. We don't believe, but there was no confirmation that the man fired back. But there definitely was a confrontation as the swat team moved in and freed the two female hostages relatively unharmed there. Okay. We don't yet know the condition of the man throughout this ordeal. Well, right in the midst of the update by the Gloucester county prosecutor Charles Fiori on what happened early this morning at eight thirty this morning when police swarm the UPS supply chain processing center here in Logan township. When reports came in that there was an active shooter situation, he said it had evolved into a barricade situation. And that a man and two women were inside. No one else was Gloucester township. Prosecutor Charles Fiari says it became a barricade situation, and they began telephone conversations with a man inside. And just as he was describing that we broke into this story news briefing when my colleague, Dave bad and closer to the scene. Her eight to ten shots fired inside that UPS facility. Now theory has come back out and told reporters that the situation was resolved that the swat team moved in and shot the man he. He does not know whether the man of pulled off any rounds himself, but he's in custody. The two women are fine. He would not say as a night shift reporter told KYW NewsRadio that it appeared to be a man with a gun taking his ex girlfriend who works at the UPS facility and another woman hostage. That's when the active shooter situation became a barricading incident. And in the midst of his briefing fury heard about the shots being fired. They called the command center closer to the scene. And there was a determination that the swat team needed to move in for whatever reason, they did the swat team fire took the man down wounded him, the women freed unharmed and the man is in custody. Briefings to know at eleven fifteen sources say a person with a gun has taken hostages at a UPS facility in Logan township Gloucester county. David Madden is there in with us live with the latest, David. Yeah. This point though, sources indicate this situation started inside the UPS facility here in the industrial development about eight thirty this morning, supposedly, an employee's ex-boyfriend came in armed, and there was a physical altercation. Prosecutor's office officials here in Gloucester county suggests shots have been fired. But no one has been hurt at this point. We do know that the again through sources that this is turned into a hostage situation that there are at least three people still inside that building and negotiators trying to deal with that situation. The Gloucester county prosecutor has scheduled a press conference at the Logan township police station. That's about a ten minute drive from here at eleven thirty. And we'll have those details, of course, one thing released them, but don't expect a whole lot out of that. Because quite frankly, this is. A fluid situation. Schools are on lockdown here, and they are being very very cautious about people getting up and down Senator square road, which is the main access road to this UPS facility in David Madden. With us live from Logan township Gloucester county UPS has had to deal with things like this before workplace violence and they've released a statement. PR person for UPS says they're working with law enforcement is they respond to an active shooter situation at one of the companies supply chain processing facilities in Logan township. We cannot provide information about the identity of the people involved at this time. But as David said sources are telling us that the ex boyfriend of a female UPS employee is holding that woman and another woman hostage inside that the UPS male innovation center along Birch creek road in Logan township please stay with us for continuing coverage. And again that a news conference set for eleven thirty which we will bring you live a second thing to know this hour, the Philadelphia water department is in winter mode cruiser on twelve hour shifts six days a week. "In? We are expecting a statement within the next half hour or so from the Gloucester county prosecutor that said here's what we're able to gather here at the scene on center square road inside the purely an industrial complex nine o'clock this morning. A man comes in with a gun, and there is some kind of altercation at that point. And then hostages are taken in what appears to be, and I stress this appears to be a domestic dispute of some kind inside the UPS facility. We are not hearing any reports of anyone being injured at this time. As you might imagine. There's a failing police that are here traffic is being diverted from around the area. We are in an area which is about I want to say about a quarter to a half a mile away from the actual facility. And are as are some other people who may in fact know, some of the people involved inside of the facility that may be involved in this. But they don't wanna talk about it at this point. There were ambulances that rushed in here. They left here without any sirens. Blaring? However, there were evacuations inside the pure land complex. There was a bus load of students that were taken to the Holiday Inn as a precaution. Schools are on lockdown down here. So bottom line. We have a situation that is certainly fluid. No reports of any injuries a possible hostage situation and traffic as you might guess is a mess down here in the David earlier. We had reports of of an active shooter. That's what the description was. Anyway, are are there any indications that shots were actually fired inside or near that building? No clear indication to that at all this point. Again, officials here are not talking. But if it is any clue here as I say, the ambulances that the first ambulances anyway that were dispatched here left here with. Any sirens blaring? So if there are injuries, perhaps they are not very major at this point. So the the idea of shots being fired. If there were any shots fired. We have not heard anything about that. But this is still being handled certainly as an active shooter situation, but police have not indicated that that has changed in any way at least four now. All right, David Madden. With us from Logan township Gloucester county, David as mentioned at eleven thirty news conference is scheduled and we will bring that to you live on what is being described as an active shooter situation with hostages taken inside a UPS warehouse in Logan township along Birch creek road.
