"So I think for that reason, they probably don't want to make another move, but then you see a performance like this one. And it's just so lopsided. It's so ugly. It's a team that looks like it has absolutely no identity or direction. So it's like, well, where do you actually go from here? Yeah, I mean you stayed the whole week out there too. You're out west. It's not like you were unprepared for the trip. You know, the organization kind of shelled out the additional money to make that happen and to make it look competitive and I haven't seen anything out of this to legitimize another year, but it's interesting, Jenny, like, a lot of people just kind of blamed Dave gettleman flat out for this, but the reason that Jason Garrett was moved on from was because the team was so talented but not playing up to its capability. So it's like Dave gettleman had a hand in that too. You know, he made them theoretically talented on paper. And the underperformance part of it isn't necessarily in his control. So it's interesting to see how they kind of reason their way in and out of this and to your other point, it's hard. I mean, good GMs aren't going to take that job. You're going to have to take someone who's Friends with Joe judge with the understanding that you're going to fire that person too once you get rid of Joe judge. And that's really the only way you're going to be able to do that. I will say on the lighter side of things in this game. Not for the Giants, but for the Chargers. Justin Herbert made just a couple of spectacular throws in this. There was one where he was rolling right, ended up throwing back downfield to the other side of the left hatch. I don't know. I just last week when the Giants lost to the dolphins, Logan Ryan had made that sort of snarky comment about oh he's the Logan Ryan would be the emergency quarterback and he could do it like two works. He's just be wrong short again and again and whatever. Justin Herbert in this game delivered this touchdown of the middle of the field at the same sort of scrambled set his feet fired it, I don't know whatever it ended up being 50 something yards. To guyton against what was basically a cover four look, there were two safeties back there. They just didn't expect Justin Herbert to fire a laser on the run over their heads into the end zone. And they just sort of zoomed in on Logan Ryan after that touchdown and he just sort of had this blank stare on his face, just like looking out into the middle distance, just kind of, I don't know, maybe reassessing his life and what he thinks of quarterbacks at this point. But Justin Herbert just sort of, I don't know. It felt like he just ate away at a little bit of Logan Ryan's soul with that throw. Yeah, I mean, the Chargers have been a team that's a little bit hard to get a handle on this season because they've alternated wins and losses and you're never quite sure what to expect of them on any given week. But throws like the ones Herbert made today make you think that they're a team if they are in the tournament, Gary Ken. Thank you..

"Joy tampa closer to yes closer to home. We've got the giants in new orleans this weekend to take on the saints. A couple of things. Logan ryan was on with moose and maggie. Yesterday he says defensively. I know we lost but we did some good stuff play. Better defense that game. I don't care what you telling me. We play better defense. We just didn't make the play of the game to win. I would like to give credit to the wfan. Twitter headline writer. Because i got duped they put out last night. Things got a little heated or something like that. Hook line and singer. Moose and maggie fighting with logan ryan so i watched all three minutes. I'm still waiting for the i. Same thing happened to me. I did not. I did not make it the full three i went to. I'm sorry to hear that. I did try to watch that last night for three minutes and i was waiting for something like do you song. He didn't yeah no way to the headline he says. Matter of fact he's coming after mussa's job not really but you could certainly interpret that and your seat one day and i'm talking. It's easy to sit there. I'm accommodate the hell out of i'm analyze and break it down and all of this terrible and that team's terrible they have no results. Because you're you're you're reacting to the fact that the results right right but right now. He's the player and he sees it on the inside out so he kind of sees it from both sides is what he was trying to threes non. Well that's where maggie said and he basically said and then so we're he went with that was he goes. Listen when i was on the titans we started two and four and we won eleven games or something like that. You can't just say we're all in three and the seasons. That was his point. Well and that's the right point. I mean and that's the only point that a player to coach who's active right now could say the mistake of saying the chiefs are one and two and mu said. The chiefs have been in the super bowl the last two years. Yeah the giants have not you. Have these paid spots going on. It's not easy when you're losing your eye or you would know that. I would know knicks head coach tom. The below with the media yesterday and how about some love for his owner forte donors. Give us everything that we've asked for to whether it's technology adding staff beautiful. Whatever we need does get better. He's provided that. That's interesting you go. I don't know why i just. I feel he can. Obviously it's slant in this town right run right before that clip tomko said hold on a second someone's handing me. I'd like to thank the owner shek which ones seem to be every everything we ask for we get. I did technology players. He's the greatest man alive are question spends a lot of money. So let me ask you as guitar player. And you're right about the reports that the knicks are trying to swing a big trade. Where'd you so who knows. I mean i. I saw a picture of ben. Simmons i saw picture call anthony towns the towns thing. I mean there's th they're trying to do something it sounds like a lot of assets to be able to trade away. And wade's reports coming from where you're seeing these reports boomer's got sources from hop along. Is that what timeout did you. Just call them hop along you. Just call him arable. I smack in the back of the head honestly for him. No no he didn't say protecting your sourced people don't know who you're talking about when you call them hop on the new man along and boring figure knee. Brace paint i I spent a lot of time with these guys. You tend to make fun of. Don't that's exactly. I got here about it in crowing that you beat while easer biak on the golf course. That's one and that's me against him and he knows it you know as i beat his ass down for three straight games. Every straight match said sources. Greg said hop along eddie played boring. Yeah got it from no okay. Where'd you get it from a source. He can't give up his source. You said reports want. Why don't you want you put knicks. Right wow in you beat that guy incompatible he looks like a robotic leg you know twelve years in the nba. tough guy. you took a a a softball to shin out for the entire season. The deep bone bruise. You pulled your hamstring him. Zilla ans- right. I did never been the same. And the quad and finally devils. Golly mackenzie blackwoods spoke to the media. Yesterday he is not vaccinated. And that's certainly can be an issue in terms of some games team plays this year. I had not heard running that. I will play Blackwood who says it's been difficult for sure there's different Different restrictions for me the other players and you know and there's obviously repercussions down the road so on this definitely not something that i enjoy. He was asked if he is dismissed. The idea of the vaccine no. I'm not excluded that idea. I've just been working through the process of it from a health standpoint and Just kind of checking off my losses and the one last one i'll play. He understands clearly a distraction for the club. Tough for me to be in the situation. I'm in because puts a little bit of strain on my teammates in staff around me which i don't enjoy and i don't like being the cause about well he is and so they will work their way through. I did not realize devils rangers. Preseason that'll be on friday night so that's the deal with him. I forget who it was. I think was andrew wiggins. And i give credit for mackenzie blackwood actually talking about. And because andrew wiggins met the media and he's unvaccinated and you have the same type of roles out there in california. They do here. So it's sort of a kyrie situation your city and he goes egos. I'm gonna fight. You guys can say what you want. But i'm going to fight for what i believe in and then the media as well here's your opportunity to fight for what you believe. What do you believe it. It's a personal matter. He was the guy who is teammate. When he walked off the podium said we get the shot already. Right was that time. I didn't hear that. I mean i heard curry going. This situation is not ideal. That's what he said a shot. But now maybe i'm not sure i didn't see that that'd be great if that happened. I'm pretty sure it was. It was and when he got done they saw him. I'll have to find. It was one of the players is not vaccinated one of his teammates when he got done. Speaking to the media said we get the shot already so it can be a problem inside the locker room for it is already so how many players do you think are have fake vaccinate vaccine cards. So i don't know. I mean i would hope that's not the case. Yeah come on boys. I don't know who we born yesterday. I have no idea to you. Think all of them. Now i would. I would think that there's probably i'm in agreement with an agent who came out and said this About ten days ago. Yeah it was a you know these. I don't know this name. I'm above us right here at this was on monday but jelica but jelica said was heard telling wiggins in the hallway after he met the media. Get the shot and we said tough crowd in there. Wow yeah yeah why. There was an agent that basically said about ten. I think it was ten percent. He put the number on the. Nfl faked accion cards. But then again. I was saying to myself and i'll say it to you guys and i'll say to our audience if you're an nfl team. Don't you have to confirm it was going to say you have a number on your card and you have to make sure that that is confirmed in.

"Sure. All right that was logan. Ryan discussing the brawl. That happened near the end of giants. Practice on tuesday in listen. This is the valentine's views podcast and in my view on what happened yesterday and on logan ryan's involvement in in this is that i'm not really thrilled by what logan ryan had to say after practice. And i'm not really thrilled about logan ryan as a team leader And the involvement that he had in tuesday's incident listen fights happen in nfl training camps. That's not news. That's nothing new. We see them all the time. This one didn't have to happen. This one came after a giants defensive back knocked down running back corey clement. Evan ingram came to clements defense because it was an unnecessary hit that that came at the end of a play. It didn't have to happen. And and really what escalated this into an all out brawl with the entire roster seemingly gathering into a huge scrum was logan ryan hitting even ingram in the back when it wasn't necessary to do that Put evan ingram at risk of injury and and and wound up in a situation where the giants starting quarterback daniel jones wound up at the bottom of this pile. This was something. I would not have anticipated from a veteran player. Like logan ryan You know he said he'll take his punishment. And and all of that. But as far as you know. But as far as what what i saw in the way that i feel about it. This didn't have to happen. And i'm disappointed that it was really escalated by a player who is considered a leader in net giants locker room by veteran player. Who's who's super bowl rings. Who's who's won a lot played a lot of good football in the nfl and and who really should know better than to put his teammates at risk. The way that the way that he wound up doing anyway giants fans. Let's do this quickly here. Let's take a short break for a word from our sponsors at espy nation. When we come back we'll talk about some of the other things that happened at giants training camp tuesday in the preceding days. Thanks to t mobile for supporting this episode and for keeping baseball fans.

"With along the future Life rocket can, As you know, as promised. We are joined right now by a defensive back with the New York Giants. He is a two time Super Bowl champion. Coming off a season where he had 94 tackles. Three forced fumbles too far more recoveries and I N T and a sack. He was the Giants nominee for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award. He was no American and Rutgers. He was the 83rd pick overall in 2013. The Giants are going to open up against Denver on September 12th. That's coming fast, too, right? He is also partnering with the Jamison humane for a special auction, which is going on right now, which we will get to Logan. Ryan is my guest logon. It's good to have you back. How are you? What's going on, Jim. Thanks for having me. It's good to have you all right. So you're coming off your first year with the Giants. Let me start right there. Considering you are a New Jersey guy and you went to Rutgers? What was that first year with the Giants like and how much did you enjoy that experience? Man. The first year was great, honestly was was a great experience and it's crazy because we started off like one in seven, right and I'm just I'm a winner. I'm used to winning. I worked really hard to win. And I still was enjoying the time still enjoy the process of turned that around and finishing a lot better than we started. And you know, Covid was a weird year for everybody. We're here with Mr Fan. I played in Met light. You know, in college as rocket we would play some games there. So not having any fans is definitely where they're being close to family being able to be near the grant near my parents and the grandparents for my kids definitely helped us through it A little better made it a little more normal for me. Logan Ryan joining us. I think all that is really cool. I think something else that's cool is the fact that you effectively bet on yourself last year when you signed out one year deal with the Giants. Then in December, you signed a three year extension with the team. This is not easy to do. What's the contract and represents you and what it means to represent the Giants. The contract means a lot. I mean, listen, um we're all very fortunate to make the money we make in this industry. And I don't think anybody complaining and complaining about that I love football, and I love providing for my family and take it. Really seriously and exactly a lot of work in it. But, you know, contract for me is about respect, and I'm still like I was in a tough Quincy market with covid like the stock market. A lot of things crashed and my value went down tremendously overnight. Just because of What was going on in the world, and I didn't feel like that was completely right. So I wanted to take my time and sign in a place that believed in me and gave me opportunity. Um, to prove it, give me an opportunity to to value what they see every day in practice. They see in the community and what they see ultimately on Sundays. And I try to lead from the beginning of the week and then the week Charlie behind the scenes and understand that wasn't afraid of that opportunity, and they rewarded me with a contract like they said they would. If I I held up my end, so I was very grateful for that very grateful. Organization of Giants are class acts truly one of the classic organizations that played for We're talking to Logan Ryan, where I really like Logan about that response to the fact that you're talking about leadership and the fact you want lead from the front. You were also saying recently that the young guys really want to learn and they really want to spend time with you. They want to pick your brain. And that it's different from what a lot of people hear about young athletes today. How would you describe the young guys on your team in their mindset and the types of conversations you have with them? Yeah, That's a great question. I I think I'm one of those I one of those people that don't like the modern day athletes. These guys coming out a lot of times I feel like I'm one of those like J. Cole said in the song of the middle child where I feel like I'm kind of an old soul. When I came in the league, it was like Brady, who's still in the league, but it was like Vince will fork and Jerod Mayo is really all locked in a lot of bets. And it is the old school way. Dudes are still wearing baggy suits, You know, and, uh, I call it came and saw how they put in that work and what they were doing and competing for championships and then You know, now I'm in year nine NFL. I don't feel that old but you know, I guess some standard Diane, but I think guys are playing longer Die to take care of the body more around here. I'm one of those athletes who eats on diet all year trains all year. To play a little bit longer career than they used to. And I see these guys coming out like they feel they're entitled. They feel like they don't want to. They want it right away. They want to transfer they don't Don't want to go through it the hard way. But on the Giants, man, we got guys on the team that want to learn, Um, guys that that I've encountered that want to become better than want to ask those questions. Joe Judge sets the culture that you're going to put in the work. You're not going to make excuses That's already said so, especially guys in my in my room. Neighbor McKinney, darning homes, Some of the secondary we have those guys really do respect what I put in But still want to want to get better and still want to put the work in. That's definitely refreshing and definitely off. I definitely respected a ton of things. A special group Logan Ryan, my guest. I love this conversation. I had a similar conversation Logon yesterday with Micah Hyde and you guys are different guys, obviously, but kind of a similar mindset that there's a right way of doing things and it's a lifestyle. It's 24 7 is 3 65. There is no off season. You gotta love the game. He totally committed to it. I love having these conversations like you also even went out to guys who came before you. You reached out to guys like Antrel Rolle, Jason Seehorn's Corey Webster. What did you take away from connecting with them? Why did you spend time with them? First of all I love Michael. Hi. I think we're similar players and I love his career and we came up to him here and he's just He's a beast and right. Buffalo is really good. Yeah, you know, it really came down to like We talked about that for agency. Um I felt like what happened in my career that came out NFL came out of college, a really productive corner like I had a really All American season and I felt like I was snubbed a little bit in the draft process. I wasn't a great combine athlete, but I thought it was a really good football player. And I was kind of one of those guys that fell in that process, and we're like via corners of faith You thought played four years inside and outside corner for New England and made a lot interceptions. Led the team owns every year in interceptions played outside corner matched up with Hopkins matched up with some of the best students in the game out there in New England..

"On Twitter, DEA on CBS. I know Morales has a lot of emotions coursing through his veins today. I know that the Giants sucked him right back into believing and then had them taken away again. But let's focus on the buccaneer side of things for the time being more as Does this alter your belief in their Super Bowl potential? No, I don't think any differently about the bucks today than I did yesterday. And ultimately, I think Tom Brady is going to look older as the season goes on, and I think that is what's going to do the bucks into knock. It's of Super Bowl. But what you saw last night was every good playoff team that the Giants have played the Rams the Bears the Steelers. They've been in the same situations in games and Brady ran into a coaching staff last night that knows him as good as any, you know. Former defense. Their defensive coordinator, Patrick Ramsey, was on the Bucks staff going. I mean, on the pad staff going against them everyday, Joe Judge Logan Ryan so That was a familiarity situation where the Giants were ready and new had a pressure. Tom Brady, where to pressure and watched a lot of film, and I think like you mentioned you've seen the box play down the teams that they're much better than and they rise to the occasion like they did versus the Packers, and maybe a little bit of a trap game as well, because next week, they have the same sitting there in a game where they can't get swept on Sunday night football, too. So I think what you saw there from the box. Look, they played down to the Giants a little bit. They ran into a team that was familiar with what Tom Brady does. And the box frankly, may have looked out at the giant's Cold night. No fans and looked ahead a little bit to a big monster game versus Saints last week, So I don't think it's panic time at all for the box, and I think any question you had about the box still remains and anything optimistic that you feel about the box. Should still be there, especially with no Chris Godwin there, and Antonio Brown now is going to be ready to play for the bucks as well. As you mentioned on the familiarity front wasn't there a couple of times last night where the pocket collapsed. There were defenders coming from all sides, and it looked like one of the Giants Patriots Super Bowls as Brady was kind of ducking for cover. It just felt so much like replace we've seen of the giant defense is over the past collapse on Brady. And For whatever reason, Brady against the Giants has always had bad days, even in the regular season. He's always had bad days. Probably his best day was that end of 07 where they're going for undefeated in week 17. But for the most part, the Giants organization has seemingly always had Tom Brady's number. I mean, just last year, a lot of these same pieces on the giant defense, which was the worst defence remember they played in New England on a Thursday night, and that game was tight to the fourth quarter last year as well. I was a bad giant team. It's just happens versus Tom Brady in these guys, it happened again last night. I don't. I don't think you look at last night with Tampa Bay, and you overreact one way or another. I think everything that you dream of. For Tampa Bay. If you were the highest of hopes is still absolutely their little bit of humble pie. And any questions you have about the books were on display last night. Ultimately is Brady gonna will when the pressure gets autumn and defense is know how to plan. So my question is. What makes you feel like he's going to wilt at the season goes along simply because of age cause I don't think we've really seen much of that over the first half of this season. I think in watching all these box game Tom Brady when he wants to have in a moment of two in these games looks unbelievable. Looks like the top Brady of old but I think ultimately I think the offenses played so well around him. They're putting him in position to succeed his using his brains, obviously very smart, But I don't think Tom Brady's It has necessarily been there on all these passes. I think that they have hidden some of Tom Brady's age, so to speak, and I think that the way to beat Tom Brady has been the same way to beat him on Lee. It's gonna look worse than that is these teams of the past rush that get after man, which is why we question the Seahawks in a big game. Beating the box or something like that. I just think ultimately, if the Bucks don't have home games and warm Tampa Bay, maybe they have a place of cold games. Go to Lambo or go to a situation like that. I don't know that Tom Brady 43 years old like we saw last year when the Titans past rushes in his face is going to not look like an older Tom Brady. He's had some moments this season, The Bears game stands out. The Saints game stands out. They were certainly moments tonight. The first half of the Charger stands out for last night. I should say it's the air, okay? Where Brady issue haven't gone to bed. I was so wired after That they picked up that flag. There's been some moments where Brady has looked. Regular. He's looked normal. In fact, at times in those losses, and last night he looked, he looked less than that. But Brady is seemingly And Maura moments that not picked it up. And last night was again evidence of that when they got the turnovers, Brady through that perfect passed the end. So Mike Evans when Brady got the field position, he was able to make some things happen. We've seen that throws to grog. We've seen the throws to God when So I don't know if I believe yet that we're going to see Brady faded. I thought about this last night. Now they were showing the final passed last year of him on the Patriots. That was the pick six to Logan Ryan in the wild card loss. And I was thinking to myself, Boy. There was Maura moments last year where he looked 42. Then there have been moments this year where he looked 43. You're definitely right. Although again, he's found himself in a nice spot where we're only eat weeks through and last night was really the first time or second time all year reach hit.

"The ball at the five gain of two Second down and eight. For the Giants. Change is made here for Philadelphia. They will rotate players in and out will parks. Who is called up from the practice squad last week checks in Freeman is on the Giants Online without his helmet on time. Possession is lopsided in favor of filling Goldman in the backfield. Jones to throw it fires it over the middle, a sliding grab made by Slaten good enough for a first down, he's touched. At the 16 yard line. They'll move the chains for New York. I don't want to belabor the point. Fourth and three. To throw the ball on a fade route, which is not a high percentage play to begin with. To a guy that we've confirmed, has never caught a pass in the NFL. And he's out there going against Logan Ryan, who's accomplished quarter I am stunned that the Eagles thought that was their best option on that play last week against Baltimore was his first team. In his NFL career pass to the right. Holden by chef tried to tip toe and stay in bounds. But he is out of bounds. Momentum carried him. It's going to be Short of the first down. After the first down, grab. The Giants are moving the ball. They were deep in their own territory at the three yard line, and now they have crossed the 20 to the 23. That's one of the reasons why teams will go for it and goal to go situations because you do the math and a lot of times. Even if you get stuffed down, their team plays conservatively trying to come out of the end zone and you're able to get the ball back in good field position. Second down and three handoff. Goldman steamrolls across the 25. He's got enough for the first down. Giants moved the chains once again, using up clock here early in the fourth. Jalen Mills got turned around on the play and a good physical run by Coleman. That is a big big First down right there for the Giants. You know their stage still 12 minutes left, But I mean, scored 14 10. So the way this game's been going The more you can shorten the game better for the Giants right now, 1st and 10 with 11 42 remaining in the fourth. Make the hand off Jones in trouble steps up, Jones bounces off and dumps it off the Goldman. He's got room to the 30 Coleman hit at the 34 yard line that could have been a big lost.

"Hope you ready for it. We haven't talked about Logan Ryan landing with the giants. Obviously, he was a titan We were kind of baffled why he was unsigned for so long he ends up with the giants. What What do you see as Ryan's role going forward at this point? Well, you know. We've talked on the PODCAST. I'm sure several times you know why is Logan, Ryan unsigned and the reason why is the obvious one which was that? His price was too high. He wasn't budging from his asking price it sounds like so he wanted ten million a year which I don't think unrealistic for him. It came down I think it was what seven and a half ultimately that got from the giants most likely what he'll wind up getting. So once he did that he became very attractive teams in the giants got him and that's a great fit. You know he's going to be listed as a safety probably by a lot of people I don't know. The giants cornerback and they need a slot corner among other things and especially if Xavier mckinney's not in the equation now due to injury their second round rookie just to bad for him but. I'm looking at a depth chart. Now, the has Logan Brian as a free safety. He could certainly do that. He's not done that a lot in his career. I think he's ultimately going to wind up in the slot because Julian loves a good player, their fourth round rookie a year ago he love is a classic free safety type of Guy. He played the slot to a few times if I recall, but his long-term transition to the NFL's going to involve the safety, the Free Safety Position Djibril peppers is obviously the strong safety. They can maybe inner change him a little bit. move him around. They need a slot corner Gary, and that's where you're gonNA play. Ryan where you need him they're ultimately going try because they're so flexible. They're going to get their best five defensive backs on the field and then figure out where to play them from there and and that's that's ultimately going to wind up with in the slot whether he starts out there or not he's going to become their slot corner. Yeah Xavier mckinney who who went down look we didn't see how they're gonNA use him and he is versatile guy but. He's strength really was playing the slot at Alabama. So it's it's something of a I don't know it seems like an obvious. Phil here. Yeah, it could be. At some point you get into what kind of coverage are you playing? Because man zone become very different for those slot corner sometimes and Logan Ryan can do either of them, which is another reason. He's GonNa wind up being that guy down there. All right let's Let's talk some quarterbacks here. People like to hear about quarterbacks. Mild surprise in Chicago. Mitchell trubisky retains the starting job going into the season here. Obviously, they'd gone and Gotten Nick Foles, and the big deal was the trade a drastic for foles because foles is familiar with Matt Nagy System and foles could conceivably come in during a weird off season and sort of the ground running and take the from trubisky. It does not happen trubisky. Is qb one in Chicago going into the year we've talked on the show a little bit I mean look I I I led the charge. Against sort of.

"I did just officially see the release from the Denver Broncos as Isaac the atom to the Giants. For that seventh pick in the 2021 draft. Yeah, this seventh rounder. Seven pick will be sweet around. I'm in seventh round the Giants, maybe picking higher than that, because I don't think they're very good team. But yeah, seventh rounder could still come really early. In that in that round, and you go crazy for 1/7 round or no, but every little Asset helps and maybe use it to move around in the draft, right? And Isaac got him likely wasn't gonna make the team, which is something we talked about yesterday and the vic Fangio was really complimentary of a mother than saying that he's a big Ah, going to be a big fan of his and pull for him and hope that he said, I'm gonna be Obvious biggest cheerleader. I hope it makes us look bad and that he's a great player there. I'm cheering for him. It just didn't work out to the extent that he wanted it to. And we wanted it to be as a third rounder that started in the opener last year against the Raiders, and just couldn't find his footing. Question is in New York, where they're a little depleted. They signed Logan Ryan. Is he going to Committee's many pass interference penalty. Is there a CZ he did here in practice? Became what does our cornerback situation look like now? Well, I think it's interesting for sure. At the top. You feel good about a J and Bryce Callahan for as long as he's healthy, he knows his defense really well. He plays inside and outside Michael Jim Moody, a Who's a third round pick. In this year's draft. So he, of course, is shiny and new and jumps in front of Ah, third rounder like Isaac Adam. I think he's third on the rosters. As I've said to you before, I'm not sure he's third on the depth chart today. Because he's missed more than a week with the quad or give or take and and he's a rookie. So I don't think he's the third corner that you will see in the first nickel package against the Titans here in a week from Monday. But he is third in terms of guys you would cut right after that. I do think if I was going to bet I would have been on to Monty Busby. But now if I'm gonna lay money down a draft kings or Anywhere else, bet Rivers or the Monarch casino or any of our other great gambling affiliates. I would probably lay it down. Yes going terrorists, make sure you hit every one of our endorsements there, so that's just the ones on our area on this show. I mean, there's other ones out there and they're all they're all great. But let's do the ones that put money in our pockets. But I'm saying that if I was going to lay money down if this was about to make it and it isn't obviously I think it's going to be Devante hair come on strong here in the last week or so, But, of course, as soon as I say that yesterday, Vic Fangio through a saying basket in there who we talked about a little bit undrafted. Get from Wake Forest. Could he be the next Chris Harris Jr and You know, it's kind of gray area because we're not supposed to talk about what we saw at practice today. But I'll just say this yesterday he told us he was throwing him into the fire to see how he handled it. Opposing the form of a question. If he were out there more than one day does. It doesn't seem like the trial by fire is either being extended or it's actually part of what? Your plan, maybe. I mean, it could be a next ended audition so well, I won't say what I saw as that. It happens once and it's Ah, and it's Ah okay, we'll take your word coach. This isn't a promotion. If it happens more than once, then do you have to think? Well, this kid may find his way onto the football field soon. Plus Devante. Bobby is still in that mix, and then I think Duk Dawson, they may keep seven corners is it's a long way of saying they make it seven corners, which is what they did last year when they broke in B K. We talked to Mike Purcell here just a little while ago. And we know that the Broncos they're going back to the stadium to practice again tomorrow. Although tomorrow night it'll be under the lights and just sido if you would have seen what it did to traffic on, I 25 Going to the stadium because the Ah you could see that the Broncos around the jungle trying. You could see that for my 25 traffic was backed up like what is happening. There's not supposed to be any traffic on a Saturday afternoon going this way, and then I could see why everybody was break checking, looking. What's going on there? That looks like the Broncos airplane, you know, because they were having their practice. So it's going to be another one of those things happening tomorrow night. But why the return visit to the stadium here before the season starts well, and the timing of it, It's not that it's curious. It's just I would have thought you would wait until you make your cuts. You have an extra day of practice next week, and you wouldn't want to do it closer to the start of the Monday night game. I believe they're already gonna Slide practice in the afternoon so their body clocks are adjusted a little later toe. The later kickoff versus practicing, You know, 10 11 issues going to practice and just on the later side in the afternoon, not not practising at night, all week or anything like they might when they're that quick turnaround for Thursday night game that we've seen teams do, including the Broncos for a bunch of years, but I think he's going to get the receivers under the lights and get some of these young guys under lights. I did ask Coach fans you today. Is there some sentimentality that there's a lot of that in the NFL really ever because none of these guys got a preseason and we always here before that fourth preseason game? Hey, this is the last time some of these guys are ever going to step on a football field and certainly an NFL football field. So I asked. Is there any of that? He said, No. This is just the timing that he wanted to get it in. And then next week beyond a normal schedule, and again, the normal schedules already gonna be shifted and there's the extra day. But they're doing it tomorrow night where the 45 40 78 ish or so guys on the roster will get the work, and even some of the starters are going to work because they just need more work. In this offense and on the field working towards getting ready because of the short Nazis. All right, that is RKO brokers inside of granite crystal being brought to you by our friends at credit Mohr with him.

"And you know how fair was the investigation? How cooperative with the people be with someone knowing they're paid by the Washington So the NFL takes over the investigation? I will do the independent investigation. Themselves. I think it's necessary. I think it's good. I have no idea what the results are going to be, But it is going to be fair, and I think that's a very good thing. Me and the last thing I have for you. Is that a CZ? We get closer to this football season. I'm starting to see some of these big name sign. I see Logan. Ryan's just signed his deal every week. I ask you about to Davian Clowney. Because you know this something really scary about the Kansas City Chiefs, adding more talented players to the Ross. I'm glad to see Logan Ryan is not going to the Cannes City TV. But But guys like to take me in Clowney, showing up in the NFC West is unwanted and unwelcome. Yeah. I mean, I would say, you know, I would say the Raiders probably still need a head rush hour, So I'd be curious there, but, you know, look, I mean, Connie's got some options. I know he does. It's starting to get to that point where you could meet here. He's going to need to pick something right. I mean, really is You used me and you know, because if you think about it, it's four days of Corona virus tests or to get into a building on him. You know in the team by same Monday, he's gotta have this wrapped up by probably Wednesday. So you know, the time is now for Clowney. You know he's not going to get the 19 or so million that he would have gotten But you know if he ends up with 12 year in a pandemic, that's a good thing. It's like Morgan Ryan is going to sound. The Giants. You know he wanted 10 ended with 7.5. That's really solid. Ian Way. Appreciate it, As always, Man. It is so good to talk a little football with you and actually not speculate. It is it is. It just feels So much. I mean, I just can't get here fast enough. We appreciate it is always in keep doing. Your great work will catch up with you next week. "Offers. He still has a really high price tag talking 17 $18 million per year that plus, you know, obviously, he's got an injury history guy that you wanted to bring in for a fiscal well, nobody's advanced enough in terms of an offer to bring him in for a physical. Yet Clowney's always been taking his time. That's one thing that I've heard consistently, which is he was just kind of going. Take his Dimier push. This is Faras. He could come in right at the end. Which is what he did a year ago to the one thing to keep in mind is we're already getting to that point. We're already getting to the end here because, remember, if you're a street free agent. You're a guy who has not been on a team. Through training camp. You're you're signing whether that's true Debian Clowney. Whether that's Logan Ryan any of the other number of high profile agent Matthews Freeman, you got a pass three Kobe tests over four days. Then get a physical before they could even integrate you onto any kind of, you know, team activities. It's really you're talking about a week. Well, if you need a week to be able just to get onto the field, and presumably even today being cloudy you'd like to practice for a week. By the end of next week, you would be thinking some decisions are gonna have to be made or guys. Just functionally is how this is set up are not going to be ready to go for week one. Tommy Jayhawk here. I've heard way no, like the Chiefs are talking about having with 22%. Capacity at their stadium. Different places are gonna have fans, they say. Now some places won't do you think Goodell is going to come in because it's a competitive like imbalance for some teams of battlefield If you do have 20% of your fans, and some places have nobody competitive in balance, the way that well put it this way. The people making the decisions in those cases are the owners and they're thinking of the competitive imbalance of this guy's making money, and I'm not making money. That's where that starts out. Obviously, there's health and safety protocols. Your old team, the Packers said. We just We're going to not have fans in for the first couple of games because we've got to focus on making sure that all the protocols are working for the people on the field, and it drastically reduced. The number of people on the field is no more cheerleaders. There's no more mascots. I can't be on the field rushing alone, reading that in the final game day protocols. Yesterday, but they're limited number of people. You still have the testing protocols where people Khun go, You know who can come? In what entrances for the teams that are doing it. Having fans stands there, sometimes taking a wait and see approach. Those other teams like Jerry Jones has made very clearly. I got so many sweets in this place. I can hide people all over here. They're not going to be near each other. He's going to try to have you know thousands of people in the stands from week one in terms of the actual football. No question. I mean, there's coaches to bring that up. G M's about the imbalance of you know the crowd noise aspect. It's It's simply different playing on the road that it is playing at home. You know, the the idea of artificial crowd noise has come up. There's nothing final on that. It's certainly been something that they've discussed. We've all watched, you know, baseball games or whatever and you hear like they're they're doing different things to make it sound and look a little bit more like an NFL game. It's going nothing normal. About, you know, a real game. There's nothing normal about NFL games this season, but they're scoring a lot of different avenues. And just because one team's not having people in September. I mean small number. People in September doesn't mean that's going to be their planned for October. November and beyond. You know, there's a It's been a different for me. It's been a different taste on whether or not I like the fake crowd noise with sport. Or I don't like the fake crowd noise with sport. My friends. I think USC early. I enjoyed it with that crowd noise because I was hearing punches, landing on people suckles and and I heard coaches talking. But now I think I've got the point where I'm like. I think we need that arena Gladiator like atmosphere and for football. I think you're going to need some sort of sound. I got the route. You think we'll zoom calls? We talked to the MBA players. We talk to Terrence Ross yesterday. Orlando Magic. He said. The zoom fans are on like a three second delay. So these said that they'll do something big and then on the other side of the quarter, ya going like, Oh my God is that the only thing that has been is the delay watching the NFL figure that out? We'll obviously be a lot of fun. Let's go to New England. Tom, What are you hearing out of New England? We've heard clips from Bill Belichick talking about how hard working cameras in how much he's enjoying it. We've seen clips from inside training camp alive on NFL network of Cam Newton dancing and beings. And what are you hearing about that relationship up there, Tom? Because I think New Englanders are getting very, very, very excited about the potential of this particular team right now. No, it's still early in terms of actual padded practices and the course training camp. But it's also late because we don't have preseason games. We don't have those usual metrics that used the judge competition. What we do know is Cam Newton is clearly the most talented quarterback That's on the Patriots roster. He's a guy who has had success in the league, but he's also head injuries over Past couple of years, you know they drafted here instead of in the fourth round. They thought he threw a really pretty ball. They liked what he did in terms of his work with the practice squad or with the Scout team over the course of last season, And you got Brian Hoyer, who's the one guy who was actually played in this offense, you know, knows how to function in it. I would just say this with the way the Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels look at everything with that team. They're never gonna marry themselves toe one thing, even for two consecutive games, much less for an entire season. I don't think that they're sitting back and going already. Okay. Ham, Newton's the guy we know that we're just going to set the depth chart. No, they're gonna be looking at this as things move forward here, and I'm not suggesting you know the platoon. I know that. That was a big day yesterday, Belichick was asked About the idea of rotating quarterbacks, and he said the same thing we've heard him say, literally, 100,000 times, which is I'm gonna do what's best for the team. Whatever that is. That's what we're going to do, You know, basically ruling nothing out. But that really is how they operate. You know, you could have one game plan words, a run heavy thing and a ton of zone read and Cam is running with the football. There could be another game where they think that they're better off. Chucking it around that they need to do a spread it out passing offense. Independent camps come along in that face, maybe stint in her lawyer's the best guy within that game. I think just to be fascinating to see this because we know so much about how Bill Belichick operates and how game plan specific he is. The way that they're adaptable, whether it's the defensive schemes or what they're doing on offense. What we don't know is how adaptable truly is he at the quarterback position because you have to go back to decades to find the last time that we didn't know with 100% certainty the number 12 is going to understand. Okay, well, he had success with Castle Castle. Obviously we go elsewhere not and Jimmy and Jacoby and But those are all pretty similar quarterbacks there right. Like there's all pretty similar quarterback Cam Newton as a completely different weapon to that offense. If you need to know, I'm excited, actually see Bill Belichick wrap his mind around what he could potentially do with camp and see what he comes up with. He's always been the guy who has taken advantage of the situation the most. I mean him and Ernie Him and that I in the sky, the guy who seems to know everything. Whether it was like little glimpses in the rule book that nobody else knows about The Dave like broken down where they started moving offensive linemen out the wide receiver before anybody else they had to add rules to stop them for doing it. They seem to take advantage of things than the best fashion everybody else that they're cheating, but I think every other team in the NFL would do it immediately if they had the brain capacity to do so. And I was also said that you bring up the Garoppolo percent, which was during the placates pension for Tom Brady. I remember vividly that game the first time that percent had to play HQ is Jimmy G and start the first two games and they had to play percent. In week three. And I remember Belichick after they won that game, which is this big grin on his face? There is something about finding ways to win. When everybody is like what you don't have one of the best players, the NFL, you have no chance and having to cope with a completely different plan. They did run is a little bit different offense with percent. And coming up with that plan seemed to be some movement bill was very satisfied with it..

"And the patriots the New England Patriots and Tom Brady bill Belichick are defeated today twenty to thirteen by the Tennessee Titans at home in Foxborough earlier today of course the Houston Texans in spectacular fashion with this John Watson twenty two nineteen winners in overtime as this John Watson does spectacular deshaun Watson things and leads his team to a victory after a sixteen point deficit but Tom Brady is the story Tim and and and if this if this is true and we've seen these reports in the speculation you know all these things that have been coming out about the New England Patriots for the last almost more than a year feels like that there is a very good possibility that top now I believe when I see it but there's a very good possibility that this is was this was Tom Brady's final game in a New England Patriots uniform it's hard to even say that sentence out loud to him and feel like I'm being serious yeah and I I think it's a real possibility in if you're just tuning in Tom Brady was just here on ESPN radio doing his postgame press conference you heard it live and he did not sound like a guy that was committed to this organization and when I say that is because he was using the word day in reference to the patriots he talked in with great respect about how supportive the fans have been over his career and it feels like eight eight historic shift is happening right now for the New England Patriots and when you see him throw a pick six to end the end the season the former patriot Logan Ryan I mean it is it is almost it is almost apropos that that that that's how it ended yeah and if that's Tom Brady's last pass for the patriots boy I I I'm not sure I to be dramatic bring but it feels like that that's almost it's bizarre it's it's full circle it's it's I mean it's tragic in some ways it's it's just a crazy night for the New England Patriots I can only imagine how patriot fans feel yeah and and he said in his press conference that it's quote pretty unlikely that he'll retire this offseason now that's just in the heat of the moment that's just right after crushing loss and certainly maybe you're more motivated to to get out there and get back to working to grind all offseason into to put your forty what is going to be a forty three year old body through all the rigors of getting ready for NFL season how difficult we know that is you don't think he knows okay yeah of course it does no you mean you mean his decision you think he's already he's going he knows what he's he he knows right now today he knew I think I think he knew in in the summer if this was going to be his last season in New England he knew that months and months and months ago this is not a decision you're like I'll just put that off here let me sell my house I'll just because he knew he knew Tom Brady sold his house in in New England he knows what his plan is he's an unrestricted free agent as language in his contract preventing the patriots from tagging him Tom Brady knows what his decision is already well Philip rivers may not be a Los Angeles charger anymore obviously the patriots are still of a very real possibility for this I don't know about the Chicago Bears with their situation with with Mitchell service he's going to be the Tennessee Titans don't have a quarterback under contract dak Prescott is still sort of you know in the wind as it as it were with the Dallas Cowboys and who knows what their coaching situation will be where is the right fit for Tom Brady if he does in fact decide to leave New England and that is his final decision is final passes a a pick six in a playoff loss at home to his former teammate by the way Mike Rabal the head coach of the Tennessee Titans where does he went I gotta believe it's California Tom Brady for those you don't know the California kid grow up in the bay area rooting for the forty Niners forty Niners have to make a rob Lowe in an odd twist of fate you know obviously they were teammates in in New England Tom Brady intimate arrival Jimmy now the starting quarterback for the forty Niners who are pipe can't see them after committing a huge amount of money and resources to building a young football team including to make a rob Lowe is under contract there can't seem go in there the raiders are no longer in Oakland can't seem going to the ramp to have an enormous financial commitment to Jared Goff I mean the team that makes sense to me is a San Diego Los Angeles formerly San Diego Chargers it makes a lot of sense to me they're going to new new stadium they have weapons on offense they're pretty dang good on defense Anthony wins a respected coach of the Chargers who has a vote of confidence from the organization why it makes a lot of sense that he would fit with the Chargers in my opinion what about the connection with Josh McDaniels obviously big Josh McDaniels has been rumored to be head football coach at a variety of places over the last few years was was the guy in Indianapolis last year two years ago and then decided to to back out of that job and stay with New England is there any type of maybe with Josh McDaniels so orders that over over raiding the relationship I think that's probably a stretch because who knows what's gonna happen if bill Belichick leaves New England and his contract is not one that's known I mean pop crafted bill Belichick have a long standing agreement that they will never publicly announces the terms are laying the were you know it that the the structure of bill Belichick's contract in New England so we don't really know exactly what his deal is but if if bill Belichick leaves the women who do you think they're gonna hire to be their next head coach well Josh McDaniels you would think is is the coach in waiting which is why by a lot of people's admits he did not take that job in in Indianapolis and it it just makes a lot of sense that you would elevate Josh there I don't think that this is an issue where Tom Brady hates the patriot Sir I think Tom Brady's ready for a change of scenery I think he's a guy that likes to constantly challenge himself and whether it's Josh McDaniels or bill ballot check I mean you really have to feel like this is this is it for Tom Brady in New England and listen even the greatest coaches college and pro sometimes it just gets stale and sometimes you just need a change of scenery in fact right ten ill the guy who beat him tonight never once has played in a playoff game he he had a an eight year career for the Miami Dolphins and then he chain scenery and it made him better not that Tom Brady needs to change to be better but but it does absolutely affected right Taylor's been spectacular for this team and so has the defense Logan Ryan defensive back for your Tennessee Titans goes on the road twenty to thirteen winners tonight Logan welcome to game night on ESPN radio a congratulations and how does it feel when when that ball lands in your hands and you just gracefully roll into the end zone like that just explain the emotion you're feeling right there a great program for the moment I was the the story lines of playing here before or back Tom Brady but it is so great great job that first one so crazily and I never do that and that was Flutie and you know I kind of told the guys man I'll never happen again an error on my team I knew was a big player it was a chance we're moments on so I felt bad about that but I knew that I had a tough match of well known I have an opportunity to make a plaque and every every one of my teammates are said to me you get a chance that you're gonna pick six don't worry you know you are working you know they will have to happen nineteen believing Michael's leaving many of similar place of a situation and then when I slept and some managers got work in my favor keep keep believer myself a Thomas up our game people even in it and it worked out Tennessee the Titans knock off the New England Patriots in the AFC wild card game twenty to thirteen talking to Logan Ryan right here on game night ESPN radio and ESPN app talk me through the emotions of that your former quarterback your former team you took home two rings you define that you defined a huge part of your football legacy in that very stadium what do you see a motions tonight as a Tennessee Titan not only the pick six Logan but let let's be real honest about it I think we all know the gravity of the wind that your football team just pulled off so what are your thoughts on I'm going there and being a huge part of what could be Tom Brady's last game is a patriot one I learned how to be a change champion in this organization and I watch time gets a disability at five AM every day watch you in a moment beat him to the facility every day and up on what was their third I learned from them a little bit how to be a poll on the beach and the how to how to work for what I'll be on the dog and some old habits when I wake up and whatever time it may be in Nashville I think about those two all time awake and out work and then I noticed on the hardest workers in the league and not a lot of success in this organization a lot of great players around me just gotta love Paul and I try my best to bring it bring it to the Tennessee and be a leader here of the might be miles wire and I did had a hundred percent confident in myself and this team that we call family were built to when we can run the ball get stopped around we can get on those guys and I win my match with need be likely to help us plan I know will be hard to know when to be easy I knew a lot of stage one online I DO everyone be watching you much water can go one way or the other I don't really care I just went out there and and made plays I'm sort of looking much water in the first half of the job that the one one way one stop well if I wasn't afraid to challenge we weren't afraid to challenge in the team played great and we shot about a second half was able to you know the typical Martin and Joe again Titans defensive back Tennessee Titans defensive back Logan Ryan joining us here after a twenty to thirteen win over the New England Patriots in the AFC wild card today game that on ESPN radio you mentioned the start out in the second half defensively you know you guys are giving up some big chunk plays a role in that game you will you have it as a surly play your best football down the stretch of the regular season but that second half you guys were absolutely spectacular what was dean what was the secret ingredient from defense according to be peace tonight nothing like where they keep believing is out there on the screen there is an aggression against us and doing a good job on screens around the ball and have some misdirection the right area and heading in the right ear as much in the way with misdirection we're better on the screen and we can't believe any have executed a name doesn't matter what we were in the regular season new season we went up thirteen if I fox rose hard to do and I weren't even moving on the Baltimore and if you can better yeah congratulations I beat the patriots welcome the Baltimore you know I mean this is a fantastic this a fantastic you know challenge for you guys just and I know you just walked off the fox for a field and I I know there's a lot of emotion tonight what comes to mind when I say Hey you gotta go about cancel mark Jackson the ravens how do you do that.

"To the twenty eight yard line but we knocked out of the twenty nine by Logan Ryan the Texans will use a time out thirteen your play heads up what about hearing was about to hit the deck and just put that I had to is running back Duke Johnson outstanding job their drill Casey look like Herald Landry both collapsing on the quarterback AJ McCarron is he's falling for just flips it make something out of nothing would have gone as a sack but instead do Johnson with a quality pick up really initially absolutely nothing there at C. play by AJ McCarron those close to pass a lot of scrimmage but he was behind it is able to look at ad for a fresh set out to the twenty nine with twenty five seconds to go still two timeouts remaining for Houston Johnson on the left of the care to the shot gun drilling fourteen seven receivers right single wide left side exhaust off the line to the right bell Tyson after a couple of weeks with Tennessee McCarron steps up a lot of green grass in front of a thirty thirty five to forty takes the slide across the forty yard line and market down at the forty two we took a shot J. R. brown he wanted a penalty but Hey he's got to hurry up now other gonna have to use the time out to be the second time out used by the Texans in I think AJ McCarron might have a little bit of a case here he had begun the slide already and then jailed Robbie contact with that helmet and brown came in with the helmet lord I was essentially the crown of the helmet being used at the end of a play unless it was a malicious intent but that is a dangerous.
"Of things you face. Andrew luck this week. And I know you've seen film on Andrew. I love. Andrew lock I think life a lot of times is do you get support? Nobody can do it alone in life. Nobody no player. Michael, jordan. Yeah. Not in football, by the way, Michael Jordan needed Scottie Pippen and Phil Jackson too. And I look at Andrew lock in those first few years, man. He didn't have an align. He didn't have a running game. Now, he has both Logan Ryan when you look at the film of Andrew luck. What do you see what jumps out to you? Because this is the biggest titans game in the regular season. Logan. I can remember in years. What do you see? I see that he's healthy. I mean, he's doing the ball. Like Andrew lucked does and early in his career when he was healthy and has some protection he was MVP candidate. So that's what it is the last games. He hasn't. He hasn't got saying. I mean, that's the key. If you give any quarterback or especially a good one some time in this lead. They can pick you apart. I mean, I I tip my hand. I think that we have the best cover guys NFL. I think we're the best secondary. I think we can match up with anybody man to man with our three corners and our Tuesday fifties. But if you give anybody time, you can't cover them forever. So we have to find a way to disrupt his timing it and then offense align make him uncomfortable. Similar to what we did last week. We just had to really make comfortable back there and allow our coverage in our in our in our rush to the Matt mareo, I think that's the key. You
