How to Build a Brand When You Aren't an Expert

"Committed to your success online. We've worked with them to a special offer just remarking school listeners. All you have to do is go to dream host dot com slash marking school to learn more and get your website online today. Welcome to another episode of Marketing School I'm Eric Su and I'm Neil Patel, and today we are going to talk about how to build a brand when you are not an expert. So a lot of people are asking US hey, how do I build a brand I'm getting into this field I'm learning law and decide you know what fake it till I make it what do I do and you have to real options the first option is you can just way and then once you get really good at it and you think you're all as quote unquote expert grew whatever you WANNA call it. Then by all means blog about it creep video content odd cast The other option and this is the one I would recommend is you don't have to get expert to build a brand you can share your journey you can share the mistakes you learn, you ensure the pros, the cost, and eventually not only will you learn what to do, what not to do your followers or the fallen that year solely attracting will also learn what to do and what not to do. But eventually as you gain more and more expensive the month over the years you'll be then seen as experts have to be expert. You don't WanNA call yourself expert to share what's working for you in that industry on what's not be super open open book you transparent So I was actually just GonNa say something similar around document your journey in the beginning when people when you maybe feel like imposter and you don't feel like you have enough to teach you don't feel like you're good enough I think happened. So a lot of people when they're starting out and I think that stops them from starting. It's also painful when people don't see results for the first two to three years or so and what I would say is a good example of this is Gary Chuck. He doesn't particularly teach as much as he just. He just had a camera guy following him around d rock and he was just documenting every part of the journey on his team chop things up and that would be sources content, and then he would realize that now he's you're saying this like I don't have to think about all the content I need to produce because just living my life I'm being me he's being very authentic to himself. So in the very beginning, is there any way you can document especially if you become really really successful and people can see from the very beginning there like Even more. It doesn't matter how crappy your video your equipment is how bad you sounded the beginning while people are going to appreciate the raw ethnic you and then they're gonna see your journey another continue to follow you because they're interested in senior story people. Dave Chapelle said people don't follow comedians because they're funny. They follow comedians because they're interesting and so how can you be interesting? You document your journey, you get stronger and stronger don't give up an I feel at that point success has given. So yeah, and what you'll find is throughout your journey. Joe Come through a lot of things that can help you become expert without you realizing as he had a bigger audience, you may be asked to be interviewed on other podcasts. He will may want to interview. You may end up doing speeches at conferences. All these things will help brand your salt and make you be seen as experts, but it doesn't happen overnight and when I look at companies like groove h q a lot of people don't know but they documented their journey and eventually became super successful Gary Banner Chuck was undoing Wine Library. TV. Back. In the day for so many years spitting wind. He wasn't like I know wind better than anyone else. He was doing a show until just telling people what they feel about. You know wine in how it tastes like I remember he was on Conan one time he's again this is how it tastes like a song with dirt try chewing Konin and stuff like that wasn't near just trying to be an expert who is more so distinct this is how it is. This is how I get to know why is this is how I relate to? Overtime people like Oh, Shit your expert. You know this? Really well, it wasn't because he's saying he's an expert he's documenting his processes tasting wine, and at the same time, other people start interviewing. Esam to speak our conference getting known. That's what really helped him up over the years as well. If you even look at Logan, Paul you look at Pudi Pie, you look at Casey Nights, lot of them. They are just kind of even Graham Stephan to he's actually Graham. Stephon Stephan Show where he reacts to things actually he teaches but the the other three people I talked about before again Casey nights that Logan Paul, these types of people they're just

"Sight. It's Logan Paul not only did God, give me a way into this. During my lowest moment but he gave me a best friend what I needed So a lot of people don't WanNa turn to God, they're too scared. They don't think he exists. But. I'm telling you hundred shots out of one hundred every time I gave it to my Lord and I worked for it. It comes both ways a lot of people read Bible verses and they read it and they just take away. That they don't grasp that I don't mean to get biblical on you guys. Read a passage in the Bible never was his Jesus show by Your House they give you your blessing never. He waits for you to come to him. So what I'm saying is if you're out there and you believe in God or you believe in any type of higher power. I tend to go towards crisis my go-to and my thing is Bro, don't give up work as hard as you can and throw it at his feet and see what can happen and a lot of people here are going to disagree with that I. Know that fact. But I'm telling you gotTa try before you take it out towards your I. Love this. I. Love All of that like like being your friend for the past six years I've witnessed what you just described. You constantly come out on top you a reaching the next level day after day after day my question to you is this. For the religious people. WHO. Haven't had that type of path. And it's not always been success success when when when win, because a lot of people are really religious people do turn to Christ and they haven't had their breakthrough yet or even all explaining lizzo minor little win or whatever they're looking for. So so what is it? I got really quick at learning I didn't I observe I think a lot of people here could realize this about me when I see something I figure it out I learned from other people's mistakes. So when I realized my relationship with God is a relationship. It's built on a relationship. So a lot of people basis they're Jesus not there for me on this situation locate well, and my girlfriend are having good times but once I'm okay and I'm good and I walk away from her because I'm good. But then when times get rough, I, come back to her she's like y'all help you but. It would have been a lot better for us. If we're right here, all I'm saying is this a relationship with God is like a Wifi router if I'm next to the router, I'm going to get my information quick and my services right here and I have a great relationship and it's chill. But if I keep walking away into the backyards of the neighbor's yard and my connection with off It's going to be off. So George do a lot of your blessings have come from. One. Going in the direction that you're feeling call to go. I. Mean You said you literally give up everything to be an entertainer in Hollywood is. So you took a major chance yes. Your financial support but you've taken a chance to do what your heart has called you to do. I'll tell you why and again this all has the Gulf of me in my relationship with Christ. I could be in this industry. When I first came to La I had one prayer the first prayer that I had at my in bed. I. Said, God if this takes me one inch away from you I want it miles away from me I don't WanNa even be near it I don't want an conversation. My Christ. My Lord goes with me in every room in every relationship. Because here's the thing. Even if you don't believe in God luke who I am as a human being, I guarantee of any of you guys needed a shot into I need somebody right now to get something done a guarantee you guys are making if I needed somebody if I needed somebody to lie so that my girlfriend didn't catch me out on like a cheating out hit you immediately. One of the best liars I've ever seen life. Believe it or not. I hate line and that's why I put me in fucking. He put me in a tight spot are not a preacher right now right now I this conversation I figure this out. I am built differently. You could put a billion dollars in front of me and I won't turn away from Christ. You could put fame in front of me. I won't turn away from Christ. What I what I know is that there's a lot of people in my life that are getting baptized as we speak and knowing who crisis as we speak because people in the industry don't know how to talk about God they don't know who got I think I built. Crossover I'm crossing over and you guys I. I have my own battles to I'm not perfect nowhere near. There's so many times where I'm looking at content Yasha stop swearing the same that I'm talking about Jesus I'm saying Oh fucking titties and Bob like a mental battle for me. But I know for a fact that every time I put my faith into him he comes on top I ain't perfect and like everybody you're not I'm not the most talented of the room getting rooms that I should even be a part of. Look my relationship with you almost left the devil wanted me to leave. If I'M GONNA, Leave this the topic of conversation I'm believe you guys with this online. The. Devil is never ever going to be strong enough. To still the blessing that God installed in you and you were born, but he's strong enough to blind you from where it could take you. So you could believe in yourself and know that you have what it takes. But if you listen to the devil, which is only full of lies to tell, you can't do this and you're not good enough your fat, your parents can't help you. You're going to be like your mom, you're gonNA. Be a drug addict your hand get out of being out of drug addict. If you listen to the devil, you're going to be in chains your whole entire life but you gotta believe that if you're made in his image and you really believe that Kreisky, all. Guys I'm in L. A. and I live like a child. I'm twenty seven years old. Girlfriend family that loves me friends that always be there for me. I'm in Cincinnati I should be doing drugs off of hookers. And I choose not to, and I'm happier I wake up every single day knowing that this is going to be just as great as the last because I put my Lord I don't listen to the Devil at all. Don't he's a liar you're worth it. You're strong just listen to what your body can do and you could do it. You're living a life..

I was thinking the same thing he call you and So he walks in. The House looks at me. He's like Mac. I'm not alright. I'm like God as soon as I heard the tone of New York for arouse I. I hate uttering the words. I'm not alright 'cause I don't utter unless I'm really fucking not all right and I and I wasn't and I. I kind of like crunched over to the bathroom and my I don't. I can't even describe it's almost like a fireball was burning the inner lining of my stomach. I hear a gurgling go appeared. Tighten my chest. I couldn't breathe for a little bit and I hated that I had to say this. But after like fifteen minutes of like some of the most an agonizing pain I've had in my life I was like bre we might need to go to the Er like straight up E. R. I I thought I was going to die. I literally thought I was going to die. And that's why I wasn't leading them film until I was a kind of okay. It was right after you said that you need to call an ambulance house like you know you've got to throw up. Get that poison your stomach. That thing is horrible. I definitely don't recommend that. Shift anyone migrant. And he's like Yo you gotta get the camera Dave's in the same position. I WanNa gave the film but Davis Puke into so they're both Puka a shit. So should I get the camera? Because he's always saying try the chip or no they ain't the Chevy and I feel so bad about what's her name. That didn't he didn't make the cut. There was no there was no. There was debuting the chip. But there's no like Dave special and I was like fuck. I noticed this morning when I watched I was like damn. What's her name summer? She was like she convinced. She cheated. Where she she puts up to your mouth but maybe not don't know I'm sorry but anyways fucking die this is officially like in my mind. Anyways one of the closest. I've been to death on God. This will affect the way I create content in the future. That's how that's how that's how orbiting this was for me meaning. You won't do that again. That or anything like it anything. I won't go through that again. It looks for the first time wasn't like that it was that fifteen minutes of agonizing pain. Drink your milk your good. I have to deal with that right now. Like famous but then also being is disregarding. I'll say I'm I'm I'm that way but I rarely do because I know that there's a possibility of a phone call or some sort of business and I'm like fuck. I really need to take this new deal with it and I'm like every do this. Every ounce of effectiveness I have is a human gone when I when I'm Single Voltage cooling far. No can't do it. Which is why I don't use the smoking today You know a raft in a pool. We're looking at a laser vaginal away from horrible. Time of the day was because it looks four. Pm It looks four pm very dark. We shouldn't some of that that they can't moderate the amount of something that you do. You don't say this one bag might not be bad for humans but when you jess a certain amount like like you had one chip will not. That was. That was different. These are not. These are not flaming hot cheetos. These are Y. Gaer liner reaper. Pepper built to kill allowed. They should but honestly why is it? I mean who's GonNa make those decisions at this point or president told us to inject clorox you know what I'm saying like said or is there evidence supporting or didn't tell us to inject clorox but told us that we're looking into into guess that we should start injecting chloride? Do you know the center for poison. Control their calls regarding swallowing disinfectants whole. He's in New York up to the top of the media. "I don't know if it legitimises his his original tweet but there's definitely like maybe some he was he backed it up and I actually took a took A. I'm GONNA take a page out of his book. Where if I make a bold ask claim and I will some day. I'm GonNa work so hard to to back it up and prove people wrong so do think they do think about me the way I like to think about myself like. Yeah you want to do a now. Nah I will say I will say it's weird when you say when cameras appointed at you and not just a tweet told all but like I do believe oh I am in. We'll be regarded as one of the best youtubers to grace. The platform brought cotton. That's come on you you you already are venue. I left my hat even but I but I but I do think that just just because of the way I've been able to navigate this platform and the platforms I came up on and my my storytelling I think is the spine of the operation that that that keeps me and my crew and he now so what what. I was trying to say before talked about young slug over. Saint Cafe that young man. This is what I'm trying to say. I think you are very capable at any challenge. You apply yourself to. I think you will if you were a youtuber. You're going to do everything that you can learn how to be the best youtuber. If you WANNA go into the space exploration industry you're going to somehow find a way to put yourself at the head of the industry and yes you might not be the leader. But you're still gonNA find a way to get great people around you that can facilitate getting the job done and then getting the job done correctly. That's the one thing that I see every day day in day out. Logan Paul wants to be the best doesn't matter what it is. What the challenges. So that's why you should not fear falling off and I it's it's not that I fear. I fear saying what I said like you want to say that I felt like chess. Tighten up a little bit go but it's because because it is it's almost I love humility. I Love I love when people are humble but that thought kind of going off of what you said even maybe why torey lanes snapped after that tweet is like now. I have to prove that now. I have to continue to back that up and it's almost like it puts pressure on me that I like because I know I can do it. I know what the right people around me. And if I stay driven audience days fulfilled with the content and happy in consumed by it. Like it's because you think like that you think I can be the best one at least gonNA try are usually higher those dots. I just think because we're talking about the I miss for these extreme statements about oneself. I tried to suppress but like hopefully one day in five years. I can still say that same sentence. I mean believe it. The problem with all these conversations is unfortunately the majority of them come back to being. Subjective like it's always what's the metric well appointees it's subject not is one of the greatest youtubers well out grace for him based on numbers. Yeah Yeah you're right you're right. Some things are undeniable. But when you get to a level of goading someone and saying greatest ever do it. Based on what based on what metric one of the right. Yeah even with me. I just say one of the best. I said one of the different favorite this this dude jelly because this is this is the thing about youtube. We only talk about and really scratched the surface of such a small group of Crater. No like this to Jelly. I don't know how I came across tweet. I think one of the day I'm sorry to flex but I just past five hundred million views in thirty days in the last thirty days. Five hundred million views. Okay so by the way like no one's I'm not talking. We're not talking about this kid. He does a lot of mine crab. And a lot of seventy three million Mike God but look how often he hours ago. "It more now. It's not see you again down. This fucking does because Utah right point. What's going I mean? Yeah Mike had a lot of similar questions is one question. I do want to ask you that now. Like now you're twenty five in your current position in your life. What is one thing that you want most now like material things but like one overall like life thing that you want most? I think the answer is a steady and consistent flow happiness. I've realized that if I'm happy most things in my life tend to be going pretty well and I'm not and I'm not chasing happiness maintaining happiness. I found it. I haven't and I've had it for fortunately most of my life but I'm doing the things that I like doing. That can keep me there. And what do you think those things are that? Keep that happiness for me. Specifically it's creating its community communication in bonding with my friends doing the things that I love being reckless. Enjoy enjoying my time really enjoying my time on earth and not wasting doing trivial things. That are still being reckless. I liked being reckless. Yes it gives me a thrill and adrenaline that like why do I jump out of fucking planes break place? Why did I drive fast? Guns when I've seen from Logan Paul is that you said it earlier but you are you. You're curious about women on a bigger scale. You're curious about all of life and you will do everything you can to learn more and experiment and try whatever so that you can experience more. Yeah just don't turn that cat which one the one that curiosity killed all got to. Be careful with that recklessness dude trying to figure out what's on the other side of those pearly gates Bro. But I don't know if you WANNA find out your own saying because trust me. Take it from somebody who was the same way. Why not? Same Way Fifty fifty million times fucking worse grow as you grow older brother those those little Absorption that your ankles make when you jump off something tall and own absorb is well known absorb things just start to kinda shutdown just tumble and took a tumble on the dirt bike. I tumble in the dirt by and I fell. I was like I laid there for a minute. I tend to go fuck you got one life. Zero Logan Still. I'm still but yeah. Happiness Bro Happiness. The biggest thing if I'm if I'm good things tend to be. Is there like an ideal like fifty years from now or maybe forty thirty years from now that you like see yourself and you want that because I mean when I first came to this one of the things that you kept preaching. He's like you want to be the biggest entertainer adversary of the biggest entertainer. And then I know we've had talks around the House. Kinda shit to be like wine to be an impactful entertainer wanted to be the most impactful and we all had like these. D- philosophical talks of the types of individuals that are remembered one hundred years from now versus a thousand years from now or two thousand years from A and. What are those people doing? What type of shifts of that actually may because you have the power of influence which is so unique and unlike any other in your age demographic so is that. Is there something like that? You really want to be known for that. Makes like not just generations to combat like changes the face of humanity. I do not have an answer for this. It's a great question and I think about all the time I wrack my brain trying to really figure out my my my true purpose beyond and it might it might just be like making people happy through through my content and inspiring and motivating. But let's go back on the topic of the type of people that will still be talked about in one hundred years. We'll we'll dwayne Johnson still. We talked about one hundred years. This man is a fucking legend living legend. He's he's incredible. Will he still be talked about one hundred thousand entertainers if you look at history? What big entertainers have been Charlie Chaplin on the some of the? Oh Jeez yeah like Elvis. Yeah like some real fucking legends. What at what point were there will their names no longer come up at what point will entertainers not be the names that we still talk about in one. Hundred Years. What can this is. The fucking question is like what can I do to be an icon a fig figure that lasts centuries here corona virus low key? I mean like like who produce great content consistently but but not that minimize that making great content has an impact for sure. But you look at all these individuals athletes entertainers. They always have other verticals that they rise in and make real impact like Kobe Bryant. The things that he's doing with schools and whatnot but I live on for generations to come for sure. I think it's I think it's fucking awesome. I think it's incredibly noble. I had this realization in the past years. I don't know if that's if my mission any longer is to to be legend like we talk. We talk about leaving a legacy and that's dope but kind of might be going back to your first question is much. Just be happy and enjoy enjoy this live. I have and I'm sure I'll probably leave legacy if I can if I can do that. I don't know if I'm chasing the like well. Listen my legacy value always turned into a Westerner when you talk about legs. Isn't it the best legacy I can't? I just WanNa live dope fucking light. I'm sure some things have question for you if we started right now and for the next fifty years because we should. We should be friends. I know you said you don't love me anymore. But we've been friends for a long time but if we start right now burying very very meaningful treasure chest. That only open every hundred years we do. Let's say a thousand of them and they're very meaningful like I mean I mean either riches or like secrets to life cures to diseases that we don't even know yet but we mean you somehow cured of them and we start spending the rest of our lives bearing those in every hundred years the civilization opens it and they say what did log in both logs this year and we and every time. Sometimes it's just fireworks show other times it's cheesy like how do we start setting ourselves up so that we're good for the next year or a good store names? Remember saying through in Philadelphia Freedom Bell Man who cares like I don't know like I don't when you're dead WHO A. Why would you care if you're not going to be? I mean I'LL GIVE. I want to live a life inspires many other living people that I possibly can maybe carries on for fifty years after being numbered is simply a byproduct of having actual impacts. I think you're selling yourself short by only trying to impact living people. I really do I really do. I think there's a lot to be said about being able to impact the dead nude or even the living dead. What do you think is most likely what happens after you die? Your best gusts me. Yeah we're interviews. Question Bro scare question. I like I like asking people this question. You know I like asking this question to the most is really really smart. People whose opinion I I value because it's so fascinating to see how people into this question. What happens when we die? Pretty Subjective Schiff. It's not only. Is it subjective. But my answer changes every week. Morgan Paul everybody knows it like it's heartache. Obviously the prefaces. We don't know so it's really just your best guess so well. I know because I'm a Christian. I Wou I would hope that George. I would hope I would. I would hope something. My My gut tells me nothing nothing and because you said that nothing will happen. Well actually no. You'll probably burn in a pit fiery hell for the rest of your fucking. You'll you go to the lake of fire. It's in Nevada Song. Like what we walk back out fucking now but what happens when we live? And that's that's that's a that's a question and answer that I'd much rather focus on because it's the one thing I can I can. I can really shape as best as I possibly can try to anyways and the other thing no I and no one else has any fucking idea no matter what you say. You don't know you know. I see a lot of people around right now. All WITH GIFTS. I need everyone understand that. All your gifts are great. But they're all GONNA get in line after my thing. I don't fuck what did you say. I'm going to try to make the super entertaining and valuable and hopefully. We'll take a handful of nuggets that I've been collecting throughout my years. My my successes and failures which fortunately fortunately and unfortunately had been massive on both sides. There's no in between for me. It's either massive great success massive failure. I've learned a lot because of shape to the person who I am today which I'm very happy with very content with myself and so hopefully I can drop some bits of knowledge. I called her after you just this morning. I called it. A range of anywhere from inescapable controversy and tragedy to pure elation. What would you say that that range has done for you as a person living in both of those polar opposites? It's it's fascinating. I think I think the further you can get on both ends of the spectrum. Where is the only way you're you're really going to make those massive character shifts and those are the things that are going to shape who you are like. I've always said like trauma create success. It can break many people but also can make many people like trump trauma especially like childhood trauma and even like young adult trauma can can can can shape who you are and changer. You are for the better and it did for me and since I was on the way up and up and down the way bottom bottom. I've seen both sides now. I can move with Grayson humility and And Energy of of complacency while still being hungry and comfortable with myself. I was there for those dark times. I added you into the acknowledgments in my book to Logan Paul. Thank you for your trust your confidence in me during your own dark for jerk. Moderate and steal your the brother. How to Leverage Unfair Advantages in Your Marketing

"Welcome to another episode of Marketing School. I'm Eric Su and I'm Neil Patel and today we are going to talk about how to leverage wjr unfair advantages in your marketing. So Neil what are some examples of unfair advantages. Sure unfair advantages is like Kylie Jenner really releasing Kylie caused medics when she already has a huge following and allows her to instantly become a billionaire but close enough in which I know. That's not Overnight success that's a overnight success ten years in the making it's more so she's able to leverage her brand and grow superfast or beats by dre leveraging aging all their celebrity connections to having them where their product and then apple ends up buying him out. But the list goes on and on. And you're seeing this kind of stuff in Seo Seo email marketing you know like people getting influencers in having him on their landing page giving testimonials which helps improve conversions. But there's a lot of ways that you can have have a unfair advantage over your competition. Yeah my opinion is if artists start all over today doing a business. I think it's most important to build an audience. I you know if I were starting. I'll all say look I gotTa Take Care of survival so maybe I might be working fulltime for a while so I gotTa Take Care of you know my my bill's GonNa take care of my food and everything like food and drink but once I got to think about okay how can I start building. My brand and example of this would be when I think about Jake and Logan Paul. They built their brand off off of vine. Initially and now they're superstars not only on they. They have like a huge volume. They have a huge instagram volunteers. All over the place so I think fundamentally you build the audience. I and that's how you build your unfair advantage and to Neil's point once you get your unfair advantage going. You're going to have a group of people that you can serve your audience and you figure out what they need and you can build around that where we can buy around that. But the unfair advantage is Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger always talk about the moat. I think when you look at Coca Cola is an example. Their brand is there moat right. That's what makes him such a good company yet and Eric's really spot on like a prime example of this is what with Uber suggests now Has Grown. I'm not saying it's the best APP or anything out there but the reason is also grown so fast because I had a huge brandon had such a large traffic traffic in the marketing SEO space. I probably in the digital marketing specifically space performance marketing. I probably have more traffic fake than anyone else. When you combine social and web like blogs podcasts all that kind of stuff yes there are Gary v's who have a huge audience but He's not necessarily in the performance marketing space. But when I did that and I ended up. Releasing Uber suggests I'm getting more monthly sign ups shorts free but but I'm still getting more monthly free sign ups than any of my competitors are even if they have a free version like sem rush. I'm still being an. I'm doing that without paying for ads. But it's because I built up millions and millions of visitors and followers over the years. The question than Neil is people are thinking okay. Look we're starting out right now. How do we build an unfair advantage? In how long did it take you to build your unfair advantage. You think like to get it to start to take off. It takes three plus years ears. You know I said it takes three years to do anything decency traction. You should see results within the first six months but really three years for anything to truly start taking off. It doesn't mean you'll get to where you want in three years. It just means us when it really starts taking off and what you'll find is the web already saturated. Yeah you already know yet to go Omni Channel. We've talked talked about this. But if I were you and your unfair advantage start off with the channels at your competitors. Aren't leveraging you know a lot of them aren't leveraging social platforms like tick tock yet and you you may say it's not a right fit for my audience that's fine. You'll also find that Lincoln's been around for a long time but very few. Your competitors are posting on there on a daily basis this or going live on Lincoln even though they have that feature and gets tons and tons of reach yet very little to no people are using that feature online. Did Yeah Awesome but also from my side is as I see that things are things from personal side. When I look at the twitter that I had in the past and my other channels I really wasn't touching it that much and I was kind of leading people? My team manage it but once I started to manage it. The engagement rates shot up. Because it's actually me talking and it's stuff stuff that I mean I post stuff that makes my blood boil right and I test different things. So keeping here is if you're building as your unfair advantage is starting to build. It's starting to snowball all you have to think about how you can also try to deals point earlier go a little Omni. Chen diversify a little bit and let the snowball continued to build. It seems like you might be losing focus there. But which if you had the same focus message across. Those shouldn't take you that long to repurpose it. And you see everyone starting to repurpose now. So everyone's doing it. Then you are not going to have advantage if you don't do it right so think about that as well

"He tweeted at me and said square up at Logan Paul To which I go I go to Mike Mike told me about this. tweet egos Yo. Oh Shit we're going to war and we knew we had to come up with some some viral shit and so he came back and said I drop you faster than the Patriots. which by the way we really I really do think I really do think right? I do think I do some some real damage to your like. I know the dues a freak fucking athlete but this would be a sick fight and I think I'm going to be biased little bit I've been humbled by the L.. Shit when you GonNa Change that banner on twitter right now by chance do it seems like so much work. 'cause you gotta get the specs excellent. Actually it is over here but yeah Kristie Leah something for the rest of the now you know you bet. Twenty thousand retweets one hundred eighty two thousand favorites Kristalina responded he said wild level good slam and then the dude under him said love a good for full circle circle moment because if you guys remember absolutely fucked me in my face when he talked about coming full circle shit like that was good what he said when he when he made that we think like a year and a half two years ago said at least Lisa my career dies you can film it. Put It on Youtube each crystalise King of slams this slammer dude so this this hopped off. You know I I'm I'm incredibly optimistic. That this fight will happen. I think it'll be the biggest event of twenty twenty. We've been more more so than McGregor's return. I'm GonNa be both your more so than fury wilder but to say when you say that makes me preface like based on like it might sell more views Uram saying I think it will sell more. I don't think like what's the the metric what we always go back. Because what's the metric for success. I mean when you're talking about McGregor returning from a conversation standpoint and a and a general. Pr Samoyed that will T- technically Garner a lot. More conversation. Seychas fight for a stream. Stay be not maybe nine thousand. Maybe not this. It's the return of carphone hurt. Doug McGrath Antonio Brown. He's taking some feathers all the way out but we we care deeply about this and I think it's a very. I think it's a very strong. I'm not saying it's not but in the sports world. ABC's written off like ABC's and elite athlete but this is is a fact ab Ab is not a talked about Elliott Moore Conor McGregor is currently still applied to disagree. ABC's pig man. He's like grown. It's like ten tro pushed our regardless of he may be pushed out but people know who he is and people will want to see him either win in order to beat up just like just like me just like me. That's why fights work. That's like the model of if loved or hated. People WanNa see win People WanNa see you get the shit out of you talked about this today in an interview today. That Great Colby Covington got is fucking got a lot of you on locked up. We watch that did he. He showed up though Kobe. COVINGTON can disick fight. He got he got he got fucked up. You got fucked. He broke his jaw in the third round. And that was actually when I knew I was like you. You know although I I don't I don't really know that much about the writing. Say don't like him but like you you have to put respect on Kobe. COVINGTON showed up for getting his jaw. Broken the third around and then going for two more around and and then honestly more respect for Kamara use men who I think is the most solid fighter in the UFC. I've never seen someone stick to a game plan. More the Kamara. How does it feel to know that your biggest of all time and your whole life was against sitting in the second row we watch woodley smoke? I should've done some research I told. TMZ Today by the way we've already started the press junket for this particular battle even though we're not even close to signing the paperwork and we've got conversation going but we've already started talking about it and we told I told teams E. Today the difference between this fight and Logan Paul Kassai Logan podcast. I was the fourth most streamed event on this year massively massively successful event the difference is is that in Logan podcast you have a household name mm-hmm and superstar Logan Paul and you have a British youtuber and Kassai that that is what he is. He's a very very very strong British youtube or with a massive following thing but at the end of the day. He's only invited on good morning. Great Britain because he's fighting Logan Paul. Let's fucking be honest with you on that show talking about now so when you replace replace. KFI Internet personality shore near Rowley Chair. Guy With a full-on sports fee nom household name mainstream person right and now you've got to superstars in a fight now you're talking about a massive global wave on a non Internet level of course on a sporting level on a level that the barstool crowd cares about. DSP sportscenter crowd cares about my dad. ESPN ESPN posts about that. I mean that's your center soon soon as I saw I sent them. That post and I said this is the epitome of Sporting. I mean when you get feature sportscenter instagram. You gets no higher than that. Yeah that is that is sports. I mean who grew up watching sports. Did if you just let you to. He was at the peak of his career. Before this last season. You put fifteen touchdowns in two thousand eighteen. Oh really yeah. I thought he was once thought. Further pats steeler steeler. Oh yeah because he because he laughed picked kicked operators he did he did an interview with complex. And this came out today. Actually so there's a brand new so complex that the local Paul things that really happening happening or you just trolling. He said yeah if he really wants to do it he was calling me out for a couple of months that he wanted to fight me. He's down to fight so volt Logan wants to come see if he wants to get a little rumble on. Got Floyd Mayweather training you. Yeah I'M GONNA BE OUT IN VEGAS Logan Confirms if you're serious about it. I don't want to be writing checks. He can't cash you know you're coming after me for a couple of months so I finally just hit him up like hey man. I've seen this too much. He must really want to make this happen. Seems like he does. I know I've been hearing me talk about it like that paper right so I can get out to Vegas get my zone. Did you watch his last night. Yeah he got beat man man he just been taken over. He made a good pop though made a lot of money. So I don't know if he knows this or not put we actually did take a w best in the entire world based on what the Stream said also third like what one of the most trusted sources. Yeah absolutely respected The fight made a lot of noise for sure that he you said it seems like Logan is a boxer for real though and I'm a big fan of him. He's a cool guy. Man came into my house. A couple of years ago at the Super Bowl was all kinds of love. But I'm excited about everything. He's promoting his craft and his brand. So it would be an honor if if I could hook up with him. I think it'd be pretty fun so that was actually interesting when we read that it was like obviously the the the prefight narrative between case I is is is it sheared just Patriot dirty hater. Like it's it's not healthy. It's toxic right in the fight. It's good he seems to be coming out from a pretty the Respectable place which I like and I do. Actually I do Remember going to his house at the Super Bowl like four years ago I was. I looked up with Rice Gum and some ray super bowl and we went to. We went and hung out with him. And you know like we got along. There's no real beef now but like me. I think I think like case I and I the beef sold the fight and made it as big as it was. It was just true just like resentment between two kids kids. This is this. This fight sells itself. And it'll be cool to come at this we'll again we'll see how unfolds but it'd be cool to come at this from a bit more of a classier see your angle than what I've been doing when it comes to me like attempting to run become a showman in an event. How do you think the fans feel about this? This build up here. They are coming off a content alight diet content three months to end the year because of fight camp. They've got not gotten heavy promises. Going into twenty twenty three blogs a week. Three dogs to podcast. Do you think do you think are a little worried about what Logan Paul's output might look like in two thousand twenty based on a on a another fight. Quick quick to fight situation. I mean the fans worried right now. It depends who you ask like. I've said this before I I regularly. Fan Accounts Bogan softies Team Maverick appease my Go-to Chow. I love you she. She's also from Australia. So she gives me insight wise. What's really happening? Jump into one group chat sometime. I do sometimes i. It's it's it's it's it's cool. It's like it's real L. Insights from your truce fans hands on she in particular love to fight stuff. She loves a fight interview. She loves to build up everything. Ideally yes it's three blogs a week would be awesome and by the way my happen depending on when this when this fight is do you think the stress from maybe not necessarily having hatred for the opponent would allow you to have a more regulated lifestyle leading into the fighter so much less stressed that we're talking about a completely different nice to not have to shut shut down shop opt for fucking three months. You know what I'm saying. Just just well I mean it's going to camp but it's like that testosterone. They'll probably wouldn't be as its. Yeah what's the what's the intent. Here's the thing that I think about. It's like what's the intent like other boxers shut down. Shut down their lives and go to camp for three months so that when they fight they can and win so they can get a bigger fight and continue to move up the ranks. If at the end of the day your intent is not to become a professional boxer. Ten is to continue being the biggest entertainer. How how many times can you step away from the rest of your craft for three months at a time? Do you know what I'm saying before you start to lose in that arena that you kind of own for these. These exhibition matches against football players. Shake that I know what I'm saying. It's a great question A question yeah. I'm not sure I do. I will say the one reason so onto fighting as a because I like it and be when when you when you take a professional fight.

"He's so what you're saying is he's me mixed with Dylan. Basically 'cause he's visit a really excited. No Yeah I love it you know. And that's it's important to have mentors that space now it's hard for you like who mentors you on this stuff like honest. It's not easy it is one of my stuff. It's one of my. I want to say regrets rats. But it's one of my deepest wishes in life. I wish I I love paving the way and being the trailblazer literature drawing the the blue blueprint but I also yeah. There's no-one no-one here to mentor me. I'm figuring the shit out everyday. And that's more. It's it's tough because it could. It's led to my downfall awful a lot of times just because I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm I'm in the midst of growing up and I've always had a tendency to mature a little more slower than my peers and also trying to take over an industry and at the same time and by the way. I'm not insulated by a team of producers. Who Don't know or our time time? You put your shit out on there now and you get feedback right. This moment decisions you make right now is gonNA I was Gonna ask them so crazy. It's all I know in by the way I love it. 'cause bromide attention span you so you said the average is eight seconds is probably two three seconds now like legit so. I'm I'm obsessed with the instant gratification. That is social media. I don't know if it's super healthy. How do you how do you have the patience for Hollywood? I talk fast. I'm sure you think I'm I talking to walk. Walk fast growing. Do I bet you walk fast. You fill up your gas tank fast faster than the average. How patients for Hollywood? I don't I add ad patients for Hollywood when it was my job and it was torture because what happens is in Hollywood. Anybody could get that job. You have to be nice to everybody. That's why they let's do lunch. Happened right is because you have you know in that person's getting this job or that job or when they can do a favor when they can introduce you to somebody so you have to put up with stuff that you would never never put up with the happening in your real life and that used to make me crazy because it's just not the way I was brought up. It's not the way understood relationships or life and it's just like I had a network executive who ran a big big big network and you'd go and pitch them a show and he'll be all excited about it. Yeah I love this. It's a great ideal. It's amazing and you'd I believe they're all excited. And then you tell your boss or your friends or your agents. Oh my God is good. We're going to have this happen at ABC. And I WANNA put on blast without saying so oh. ABC's going to do this right and then you wait to call and you call me like hey did you. Did you pick it up. And he wouldn't answer and he wouldn't call you back and the agents would call and you'd be ghosted you'll feel but he's a dude. Nominee may also have a problem saying no I get it I get it. But then you're kinda guilty of that okay so then agents saying hey member just get assume. It's a pass because I can't get him on the phone and you're like Oh what the hell and then you have another pitch on the books and you gotta go up their six weeks later and you walk into the room. Oh Hi how you doing. What's going on and you do the same damn routine again? Of course then you just pretend it doesn't happen but the real screen party. Oh what's up man. And then someone asks. Oh Yeah we're buddies and it's like the real life and you go to me we'd be done as you talk about it or did you just skip that happen because you need that relate. You need a crazy as in your messed up brain. You think that for some reason if he kind of thinks you're still buddies he's GonNa buy a show from you that he wouldn't have bought Norman. which is such a clash because I have friends who have been the presence of networks and and they didn't by shows from me they can't buy shows that aren't good enough to make an fifty-seven people at the sign up but for some reason we feel like oh I got a kiss? Everybody's what he's asked all the time just in case that moment comes to my pucker is ready. What if what? If you've kissed all fifty-seven ask what you do. That is by the way. That's how the because because in this world if you didn't kiss one of the SS or by the way you have history one of the asses off fifty six and your shows dead. 'cause is fifty seven said fuck that creates the scale right like. How good is your show? Have to be to get through the list. And everything's even everybody's here if you have great relationships and you know everybody you lower the bar a little bit if you piss off certain people the bargain tire and when you're a game of inches and you're talking about millions and millions of dollars right. The biggest loser is multi billion dollar franchise. Right bar rescues half a billion dollars. Probably our company made on the paper my house. You know what I mean like my car's ars about rescue car like so you're talking about major major life changing moments based on one. Yes or no and for me when I started my own company at a big show show at Scifi and we were about to go into production. We've been working on it for a year. Getting Ready to go. Everything was good. We're so excited. Get a call from a one of my executive friends who just said. Hey Man shows dad. We're killing it. Finance came in. They don't want to do in big competition shows killed right there. One phone call so I went in my company. That's a six million dollar piece of business that show. I went from being two million dollars over projections for the year. So you know the studio excite everybody's dancing in the streets right to four million under in September K.. There's no making that out. Money doesn't exist so instead of being the hero. It's like you're instantly feel like the goat and when I was running my own company completely my own I realize like every single phone call was like that like if the buyer at oxygen or NBC said Yes we want to develop it. Oh I'm happy if they said No. We're passing OGM sad and and then as you go through that you're like what am I doing. It's exhausting and it's not even spending the money I'm just putting it away like for when like years later. What I'm to encrypt to work? I'm GONNA need this extra three hundred and twenty five hundred going through this right and it was just like forget it. I'm done with this. Yes and so that was it. I just didn't want to give somebody else that kind of control over me and it's probably what you went through in your early days on youtube like one person would make a nasty comment on your video and Eh ruin your day. And it's like I hard viewers. You gotta get over it because to be honest with you like no no. I always say people that that comment negatively right. They're commenting negatively about themselves. Well that's not just nothing to do with the content. They're trying to get a rise. They're trying to make up for the fact that they have a little Dick Dick like it's fucking. Imagine that every negative comment you got. Cut Your revenue in half and if you've got an negative comments you got no money from them to idea person that'd be by the way that's TV every time you go. You get a negative comment. No revenue get negative comment no revenue keep going till you get one and then you get one in there. You're so excited excited. Oh you didn't get season. Two sorry no more revenue so oh you hired all these people to produce the show. Guess what go. Fire The mall because we're not doing season two so digital technically democratized. Yes the world. That's the story at the end of the day. made it so there aren't these massive pitfalls less. You have a massive pitfall but for for the most part their little bleeps and you can get past things move on absolutely what I'm just curious. Did you ever show that you thought was phenomenal. A great great idea and it did not get picked up and moved to this day. You still think they had a place on TV. I mean I've had so many of those. It was crazy like so many shows that I'm like. Oh Oh my God that was the greatest show like it happens all can say one of them or is it is it protected. Ip or no. I don't care about the protected. Ip Anymore. I just going to pick one that I was like that was one of my favorite shows of all time time so I did one with Michael. Stray handcuffed power the people. CBS that should have gone on and it was like. Hey humanity can do amazing things when we work together. Imagine if I gave you Logan Paul a thousand people in your driveway to command one. Could you build. What could you also fix? Education says. Okay here's another one ready remote chef K.. You can't Cook to save your life. I'm GonNa make you cook the hardest five-star meal you've ever tried in your entire life but don't worry because bobby flay is in your ear and he's got your eyes and she's talking you through cooking this amazing thing to I know family the mother in the year I know I know. I know he's like I know all about. Do you think some of this is shut down because of like other peoples in it. Just don't work out. Sometimes they work sometimes they. Don't you know the family business shows. I've had literally hundreds of them like that where you're like. Oh my God that was the greatest show ever. There's so many factors. I mean we talk about here sitting on the podcast that the networks just like not really like that idea. That's never the case. Networks overspent on this show so now they can't afford that one that one I did with Mark Cuban's called the white room. Guess what everybody learns things on Youtube now right right. That's how we learn things I lock you in a box for seventy two hours is giving you one thing to learn. You got locked in this box and you spend all your time in the white room learning this thing when you open the box walks you're on stage and you walk out live and it's like okay. "He's on the network. Yeah is on the people that work on the show when we make our. That's incredibly distracting. Quite rude to the guests to be put. Put it down right now. Slap you can say it's extra skidding. Let me finish. Let me finish beginning talking about but but but before I bite this to your point I mean there's there's so much work that people don't see that goes into every the piece of content by the way he is or even mind the night shift that we are integral in the process that the the concept and the writing all of that's it's awesome. TV I shall a block walk out and there's part of that that you don't realize is working against you guys. A little bit is that there's an ecosystem right or ecosystem you say in the. The ecosystem of television employs hundreds of thousands of people right from Madison Avenue. Right down to the the grips and all those people are invested in in the process of television being successful and driving revenue and the revenue comes from a spots and dots. We call it where it's like. I'm going to sell ad revenue for a thirty second commercial. The no one's going to see that people can dvr through that no one cares about right whereas like effectively low. When you do well and your unique you make the money right? When your Youtube Channel blows up it comes to you the most part? But I think there's other eight people or fifteen people are like there's just not the same sort of surrounding of the planets to bolster that whereas TV's a whole bunch of people being like hold onto the rails. We're going now they. I do not want Madison Avenue. Ad Guys giving you guys more money because it's like well. What if they figure out that these people actually pay attention to his reads like they might actually go by those damn sunglasses? Do that ad on an episode on we TV. There's not a single soul that watches that Ad. They know it's funny. You say that because because coming from the brand side and this should actually make you feel a little bit more comfortable when you go home tonight the television continues and television commercials. Continue to move the needle in a very very major way for brands. Yeah we had spent the brand worked on last. Was this a company called love sack and you know we went from thirty five million dollar brand to a two hundred hundred fifty million dollars annual brand and the digital media we worked with social influencers. Everybody in the thing that truly truly truly moved. The needle was television advertising. Once we got into the homes of people watching LINEAR television. We started to see a massive uptake business. A trajectory that was was vertical. And so I mean it's you're right because but maybe subconsciously. I don't know exactly where it is where we had a really good commercial which scored really well on the on the net promoter score was off the charts. But Ah it's give and take. I mean. There are a lot of brands that are still making all their money off television. It's a just focused. In that world right and people are slower to adopt op things than we all think we were having this conversation about television. Sort of dying off. Five years ago we were talking about ten years ago. It's like we're not that close to it. It's still always out cable and TV dies at some point or a listen. I think what really happens at some point the cable. TV Guy goes okay. Thanks for making all these other digital things you test them out. You've made your mistakes. You've ruined it you've done this this is working will buy you. This is working by you. We'll sell you and now we were a cable. TV and now we're this network and they'll just move. How did you get started in Hollywood because you move from Canada? Yeah what about you makes you stand out. I mean here's the thing I I used to run fail businesses. Basically I come up with the big idea. I'd go like try to figure it out in candidates not really an entrepreneurial vibe like it is here so yeah and I was just I was so like always lead back against the wall and there was times when I would go into a meeting to try to raise money from somebody and if I didn't get a check from them in that meeting I wouldn't be able to eat right and so it teaches you not how to sell right. That's not what I learned. I didn't learn how to sell. I learned how to get what I wanted without somebody feeling that I was desperate. I learned how to get what I want and made them feel like like. I didn't need it that bad because if if I needed five grand from you really badly. It's very unlikely you WanNa give me the second. You feel that from someone that they'll say anything get what they want. You go like okay. I don't WanNa be around this guy and so I learned a really good technique of like making people feel that I wasn't desperate and so when I brought that down to the Hollywood pitch vibe. It was a real contrast to the. Hey let's do lunch. Listen here's the way the show works here's like here's what's good for. CBS and here's how providers out Nevada.

"Love, man, I'm does it make sense to what I'm talking about down inside there and really admit that you can have fun. And you can act like an asshole, an idiot, and do all the things you want to do, and joy life that way. But when it comes down to deep really assessing yourself that, that self love is just not there that self belief oh, you know, how to do this, but do you know how to just be a person in spite of this? Do you know how to get a woman to love you? Not just be with you, because your personality, and you have fun. No, exactly. I don't know seriously. Well, that's what you need to learn. It's what we all need to learn so that you need to feel like the answer's yes. Just going to give it to myself. No, everybody says, yes, my, my work is based on the fact that most people do not believe what they think they believe, because we have defense mechanisms that get in the way your initial set of defense mechanisms show, strong. It's blocking you from feeling what you really feel about yourself and our first set of beliefs. The maladaptive set of beliefs is what we learn about our cells when with growing up. And with the messages, we receive from the environment. I'm not seeing all the most positive messages that you received from your environment growing up. So how can I break down my own walls? My defense mechanisms. It's great be willing to hear this not just from a person from by me. But by you, you need to be willing to listen to yourself to listen to little Logan, because it's little Logan Paul at two years old at two years old. What happened at home that really disturbed you the? Really absorbed right around the age of two any stories that, you know, about you what was happening in the household at the time that was negative, not positive climb, and stuff. No, you climbing you out that you were rambunctious have been when the Jake ballers were created. Shit. So I mean that's pretty shitty. Right. What happened? My brother was born. When I was to you hated that. You hated that you jealousy. Of course. Why do you think? What do you think civil sibling rivalry is jealousy? It's right. It's you'll rivaling the affection and attention. Love children. Translate attention into being lovable and not. And there's only two things you learn from your parents, whether you lovable and how to love yourself. Now, one of the things you learned the lot was independence and how to stand up for yourself, but and that life is hard.
