"Well, I think it was most prominently discussed in the Bronco 6 G form. But 6 G forum was a heavy hitter in that conversation, yes. They said video that they posted and that sort of stuff. So let's see, Carrie said, reservation holder from the second day, as was I carry. Well, maybe like day four. And still have not received my Bronco. I actually canceled my reservation for a lot of reasons you'll have to go back and listen to the previous podcast where we talk about that. Right. And then says WTF. I don't know what that means, Jade. You know what WTF means? Ordered one of my ordered one from my local dealer December 22nd. It's here today. So if you guys wanted 2022 late in the year, I got an extra one. So this is interesting if I'm understanding their point here, their original reservation is not ready yet, but they got one by basically waiting until recently to put the order in. Sound right to you? Yeah. Yeah. Now, that first one, if it was like the first edition, right? That could be why. It depends on the build, right? Did you carry did you get the same exact build or close to what the one was that you originally ordered? Or is this completely different? Right. Right. Yeah. I mean, that's key. That's key. Wow, man. The Bronco has been a big deal. Come on, man. Did you see the video of the person that was, I forget where they were at, but it flipped completely over. They couldn't get up and they were trying to, and it's not on the rig. And I know everybody wants to put Bronco down because it flipped over. If you don't know what you're doing, you can flip a vehicle over, man. It ain't the vehicle's fault. So there you go. That's a bad bad man. They're not indestructible. I have one on that same subject. If I can, okay, that I forgot that I had this one. So this is on that same video. Guys name is Zach loeser, LOE, SCH, ER. He has a YouTube channel. Folks. And he is apparently he's a life coach. Likes to coach you to be a better professional and so I looked at some of his videos over there. I think he's got like maybe 300 subscribers or something like that and he has been there done that. But he just, he just says, LOL B 6 G LOL, laugh out loud Bronco 6 G, laugh out loud, Bronco 6 G now I don't know if he's laugh out loud. That's a big man. You better be Patrick's way for whatever. Yeah, you're walking into that bar stirring up the fight. But here's my point. Here's my point. He's supposedly like a life coach. And hey dude, don't come on my show. As a life coach and act like you need a little life coaching. Well, what did Patrick Swayze say in roadhouse? You know better than I do. It'd be nice until it's time to not be nice. Right. So there you go, pal. And how will I know when it's time to not be nice? I'll tell you. Exactly. Yeah, man. Or as I like to say, remember the golden rule, right? If you don't have anything nice to say, shut your damn mouth. Yeah, exactly. I'm with you on that. Nothing like that. Let's get some t-shirts made up that say that. Can we do that? I'd be all right with that..

"No. He's not so we're seeing a lot of them. Pharmacies experiencing surges of people looking for antigen testing but himself is a bit hasn't about it he's saying they tests should be kind of used as supplements am to the other measures. Of course. The pr test is king for them. But they say it's a good and kind of way of finding positive tests within the community was yet they. They definitely are not am one hundred percent behind the tests. Did you get lastly soon. Did you get a sense from him yesterday. That he is concerned or that. He's just being as cautious as we know him to be a bit of both. I feel like the case speak for themselves. I mean we're at the highest amount of socialization that we've been since the pandemic began at the highest cases like only tops by your christmas time last year and the start of january and this year so you know. He has to be very cautious. Because you know there is such high cases but just the fact that they're not really talking about any kind of lock down coming back and they're saying that the hospitalizations aren't really being translated at the moment and so for every thousand cases there's going to be about thirty five hospitalizations and we were asked about three thousand cases per day. So one thing. The festive philip. Nolan was saying is that there is actually a very small decline in the amount of hospitalizations were asked and so yes. They are being very cautious but They're they're saying that you know what we're doing is working. And that's something that lever accurate saying well yesterday that you know the vaccine mall is holding. And they're kind of expecting this amount of cases so going to hold firm on what we're doing at the moment. I'm not seems to me their plan. Okay that's not the best line in the world's salih there for now thanks. Famous has familiar walsh from the irish soon. So we're not. We're not panicking. Nobody's panicking yet the number of hype but nobody's panicking just on the antigen tests and what it was actually christine loeser. Who said this that we should all have them know. In in the whole home this be given out to a state should be free and we should be using them every couple of days just to make sure that we are not infectious. And this is what he had to say to suggestions through an improvement in our collective adherence date there have always been appropriate. Circumstances abused but in a widespread situation where they're widely available. Doesn't really risk. Because i think there is a substantial amount of public confusion about arson tests applied circumstances which they shouldn't be applied used situations for symptomatic. We haven't given specific advice that they should be made the free of charge. No i'm not insane to agree with them there. I think the public have bought into the antigen test taking and would know how to use them would use them carefully. I think he's being a little unfair to the public. There they have bought into this. People are prepared to learn how to use them. When i was one of the ones a few months ago. Who said no. Don't like this idea taking a test that you buy tesco's i you know i don't know people's into bought into it unprepared to check themselves out. I'd be with christine loescher on this. Give them out get them out free and let use them. As a matter. Of course eighteen fifty seven one five nine six talked yesterday to a couple of student nurses on the program about their plight over the last few months and the fact that they're working long long long placement hours and they're not getting paid and sometimes it's a decision of right. Do i get the boss home now after my shift in placement or do i walk because if i walk again at least afford to buy something to eat and it's really really tight for them at the moment and they not they don't seem to be getting the respect that they deserve Orlando was onto his after the program. I support student. Nurses one hundred percent. They need to be paid seen firsthand. Pre pandemic how hard they work their always wanting to help the complex children. They're always curious to find out more about our kids. They want to learn the best qualified nurses in the world and we're not retaining them. I don't blame them going abroad. And marie said my daughter wants to be commodore slow. I was i'm strongly opposed to it. The way they're being treated disgrace the expected to take the place of a staff nurse. "Now let's go on into episode nineteen of the sunshine gardening podcast welcome to the sunshine gardening. Podcast this gardening show will equip and inspire avid gardeners with weekly tips and tricks. To help them navigate the gardening world. The show will also highlight specific growing requirements for several plants. South assemble shine brighter over there kentucky garden and now here's that ray of sunshine garden enthusiasts and horticulture extension agent kristin hildebrand with the university of kentucky. Cooperative extension service. Alright they wish the have on the podcast with us is dennis mortgage is the washington county extension agent for horticulture and. I'm so excited to have him. Dennis is actually worked sixteen years in extension and he's going to be talking to specifically how to get those peonies ready for planting this season high. Dennis how's everybody up there. Yeah we're so glad to have you on the podcast with us today. And one of my favorite flowers and i guess it's more of a perennial type lower in the garden is peonies and so i know that i've watched you in previous years present on peony so under you'd be the expert to hit up expert. It is one of my favorite perennials. I grew up with pennies grandmother. Adam they're still in her own home place you know everybody's gone now but it's still come up and blown and one of those flowers. That really will outlive us if they're taking care of her left alone. That's very true. And if you plant it in the right spot and in the right place as we of preaching extension it will be there for a long long time even pass some of what our expiration date is. That's true so dennis tell us about some of the different types in cultivars of peonies that are out there because there is a lot to choose from. There is a lot in most of us. Know the herbaceous fanny which is the bit most of our grandparents or grandmothers had in their yard and you know they grow and flower in their live their life during the growing season in wins it false or even disease takes tops off. They go back to the ground and they come back from from new growth each season and they bloom from budge. That were formed underground. We have the tree peonies. Most are also familiar with those. They're more of a shrub or small shrub. And you know they have actual woody growth on them in their flower buds of winner above brown or woody tissue like any other shrub would and then we have the intersectional peonies also sometimes called the toes and they are a cross between a herbaceous being in a tree peony and that's how we get a lot of these colors into our cima herbaceous pennies because these some of these intersections and or winter a little bit of woody tissue above brown usually. It's only a few inches but if we have a moment of minimum we'll get a little bit of each issue on those two three maybe four inches last year. Some of the thousand six inches of brown. But you'll get more flowers if you get that on those because you'll get flowers from the herbaceous material coming up in the spring and you'll also get a few flowers met woody tissue that of a wintered above brown but the other most people don't really realize there are three main types of peonies out there and like you said that herbaceous perennials. That seems to be the type that most of our grandparents had been they last for a long time. But there's also these newer ones trae peonies in the intersectional. Peony that actually you're a pretty made. You can have a lot more colors to those than you came with herbaceous. Absolutely that's how we got somebody different colors in the peonies nail because we got the color from the tree pennies which they came a lot more colors and even yellow originally and our basis didn't but now that we've brought some of these herbaceous type or similar basis which would be the intersectional. We can just call him average whatever everyone all and that way. We've got yellow in those guineas. Way on a lot of varieties out there. And we've you know they expanded to colored by getting these cross. Originally it was very difficult to get those two crawls but there was a haberdasher by the last thing ito it was. I wanna get those cross since. Then we've gotten probably thousands of process since fan but it took a lot of work to get that done but now that we've done without a lot of new colors on new sour forms. There's just a lot out there. Is anyone out there. Goes on. Internet doesn't search on these. You'll see all the different various colors and even shapes in stripes and musset out there if anybody wants to go spend an afternoon like going down the rabbit hole checking all these things out. Yeah and like you said that. I'd never really seen any yellow peonies until i saw some of your types and then a false some other people that had choral and like a deep deep red and like you said you're just fascinated with all the colors that you can have with the peonies and all that hybrids. Do you have a favorite among those give you those of probably the one of the first intersectional yellow was caught bar. That were very popular. We have run out of the building. The office each spring nervous in full bloom. People come in and wanna know what that plant is usually surprised to find out that it's actually any because it has very large flowers on it. It's a beautiful plant bellen problem with miss. They don't win long enough you know. They blew once a year and then they're gone but absolutely gorgeous. But i have a lot of varieties that i like and maybe a few minutes. We talk about specific brise. I'll go to a little rundown of some of the ones that really liked the most. If anyone wants look those that see what they actually look like. Yeah yeah we'll have to take on that now. The reason i asked you to come on his that falls a really good time to look at planting peonies but win actually is the best time to plant peonies in when we're looking at pointing where's that mesh location for planting are peonies. Okay late summer and into fall is going to be your best time to plant your peonies. Believe it or not sometimes. Starting in mid to late august we could start moving these because most of these plants. The herbaceous now. I'm talking about right now. Not the tree but the intersection on herbaceous could move. Those starting in mid august always have been to october. If you're gonna need to move your tree in his deathly gonna up in october and let them go dormant. i because member. They're like shrub. They're not like a your regular radio with fruits that were keeping the roots allow. Where stems lot. So it's kind of two times there but herbaceous intersectional will will start mid august. Go up into late. October with the woodies or the tree. Any definitely wait until the end of october. Maybe i november to dig does up and with the herbaceous and the intersectional. You're gonna lose some routes you maybe need really long back a little bit. You've ever bought those herbaceous types. You know that they a lotta towns. Have those routes trims and you can do some of that. He didn't get every bit of that route with it. But if the more you get the better and then with the tree. Pennies deathly bound each. Try to get every bit of root system that you can get with that plant just to help that woody tissue. That's over winter. Actually make exactly now. Is there a difference on a you. Were talking about all the different types in wins the best ideal time for planting those. Is there a good location or is it the same for all or is it a little bit. Different course was no. It's not the same for all the herbaceous and intersectional in his deathly want to be in full sun. Full sons is more than five hours of direct sunlight. Maybe even six to seven if you can get it on those because especially in the spring before the foolish gets ready. He won't be you know by late summer. The villages prevent shape which needed. Leave it up and let it bake as much food as it can. They're going to need full sun. But now you're tree peonies. They will appreciate some afternoon shade so if you can give them four or five hours only morning sun and then give them that late afternoon shade. They're going to be a lot happier girl lot taller. And you're gonna get a lot more life of those blurbs on those those blooms in seoul sun and wind on those streep guineas don't last very long or near as long as herbaceous. Intersections does so bow means. Make sure if you can't remember trees give them a little bit afternoon shade. They are quite expensive. If you bought some of these some herbaceous and intersectional are too especially the newer varieties but definitely want to get him in the rice. Bought right location to make sure you get that established you get along lifespan out of it right right now. What about the soil tight as suspect you're probably gonna say Does matter with a lot of as bet. Is there any specific things. We need to know about the ideal soil. Yes there isn't it. These are these are not nearly as picky about soil as some of our plants would be you know. They don't have to have an exact ph or someplace. Say the or something like that and it needs a low ph ph twenty six point five and seven most of central kentucky. I know you're down in bowling green. Even though that's considered a west some people said that kind of middle states aleksei central that. Yeah there you go. That's yeah that's not. That's not west as far as the but six point five to seven in the. I'm assuming down there that you probably naturally around net. It is here because we have a lot of limestone at our soil's here so keeps that p. h. in between is slightly acidic. But if you don't have that you can amend that just makes you can get a sole test and you can do that your extension office. I know most extension office now. It's free or relatively free. So england listening. Just check with your local office. As far as that one thing they do have to have is good drainage they will not stand to have a a root system because they'll get robots die or especially in the wintertime. You do wanna work. You're so deeply for these though. Don't just go out and just dig a little home. Stick them in because these plants are going to be there for one hundred years more most these if something's not dug him up promote them down multiple times. They're going to outlive us. Giving a good location. So make sure you do amendment that soil deeply. If you've got heavy clay soil you're definitely gonna loosen that up with its much compost as you can get in there. Loose-knit up bellevue big keys to it. Other things that you may consider on finding these is make sure that you dig a hole. That's maybe two to three times as deep as that route is and you're not gonna depend on that date. Obviously but you wanna feel the bottom of that whole with a little extra compost in the bottle in mix in a little bit of fertilizer. Maybe even maybe one to one and a half cups of super phosphate. Maybe even a quarter of coverages triple ten something like that in the very bottom of that you're gonna put the fill soil. That came out back in that. So when you actually print your danny your opinion rich not going to be in that last soil yet. They're going to have to grow into it and that's what we want. Is this plant to go deep in searching for that those nutrients and so that's going to be the key to these now as far as planning debt. That's they'll be an issue based on what types of your saying if you're planting a herbaceous or intersectional you're gonna wanna just put that those little is you'll see that by the roots are deep those up. You'll see. the little pinkish is original our next year. Buds are reform. Bill you wanna plant those is about one to two inches below the sole serfs. Don't go any deeper than that to date. You won't get any bloom out of these plants for of number of years. If i ever but don't go too shallow because you wanna make sure that they're just under that soul surfer so they're protected from our some of our winter weather. I know around we anymore. Don't know what type of winter we're gonna have may have co. we may have were just wanted to inches in. That's deep enough is as deep as on with those us now with your tree paintings. Most of those are actually breasted. So when you buy one you're gonna get what's herbaceous route. And then you're gonna have a woody stem coming off of that. Well that would he stand where it meets that. Herbaceous route is the grass. You'd causes lot faster to get these grafted onto a herbaceous brute which is a more aggressive roots in quicker to take off in what reading actual treatment so they graft those europe but that graft union remember that what he stood meets that route four to six inches below the soil surface. Was we wanna make sure that that does not freeze out because of that freezes out our plants. We'll have that it's like planning alberti. Rose it's crafted. You wanna make sure you take that route ball without ones that solves dismiss loeser and you're going to have probably four to six inches of what he still buried under the soil on. And then maybe another five or six sticking out which is going to be our growth point. Once that's going to do is gonna make sure graft unionists protected and also that top of that plant works freeze off. We've got buds underneath the sole service that are protected then can break that way with won't lose that plant you know even if we had a freak snowstorm or ice storm broke the whole top of that plan. All we've got some buds underground that can allow that magic robot great. And i'm glad that you kinda covered the different types as especially when you're getting that planning site ready in the correct way to planet now dennis. They're eating secrets or maybe tips to come to know. Especially when you're caring for some of the different peony types you definitely were. Make sure you keep an eye out for a few things first of all once you plant these you want to make sure that you weigh about a month after least maybe even later in. What's up tommy. You're you plant these but you wanna let that sold temperature get cold. We put mulch down. That's going to ensure your dormancy so these newly planted plant so it may be even after thanksgiving close to christmas whenever you want. Let's monetary on these definitely. Do put mulch around these because you don't want to go through the winner with these newly plants with that sore freezing following in the postal service anyway could push out but you want to make sure that seoul serves gets called to keep in dormancy other things during the growing season. Is that first season by not going to be a lot but if we have a severe drought that first season or two. You're gonna need to water these. After that. they're ready hardy. They go through a lot of turmoil after that because they do develop rewards root systems over several years and it takes them about three years to get to full size. It's a herbaceous in the ito's now the tree panic. Take ten twenty years to get full-sized there are a lot slower growing and they do make a bigger plant now. The thing is keep an eye out most of the time. We don't have many varmints that bala these but you could have especially on the woody types you could have some rabbit damage. Sometimes during the winter they dumped doing just nip things off because they're under sharp teeth or what they're doing but you may wanna put somebody around that tree guinea to make sure that doesn't happen is you. Don't want to spend eighty or a hundred dollars for plant. It tipped off at the soil surface. It's first season exactly. We know we don't want ravitz to really get mentioned anything if we can keep from it so that's a good tip that you have there now. Some of the peonies maybe more of the herbaceous but it could also happen with it. The tree in the intersectional peonies to do they really need much support. I don't know if they really need it much. Pointing bit lighter on what they need. Any kind of support to help held up as blames. That depends more on the variety. Anything else generally the tree is don't be much or they growed slow up. Netflix stems. Now the herbaceous in ito's might i would tend to go ahead and have sport ready or even go ahead and put some of those little wire cages that they make that they grow up through just to hold them up. There are a lot of the newer hybrid varieties out. There are a lot sturdier. Their stems are lot sicker in there. Actually branch for the landscape industry as opposed to the cups. Our industry allow the oath fridays. In the ones that you see at owed homesteads in you know. They've been there for fifty one hundred years. Those are all bread. Believe it or not all but most of them were bred in the late eighteen hundreds up into to the mid nine hundred numbers for the cut flower industry so they were read to have long skinny stamps that they could use those for cut flowers. They grew fun our landscapes but that's the reason they tend to flop forever. They it rains on them or we have win things that you know. It's just because they were bred for our not for our landscape. But now the new varieties out there get some of those bay stand up shorter. That fatter stems sticker spins and they they sit white easy. Some of that's gonna be trial and error on the garner's far figure out which they have. I mean i could recommend some bodies that i know we'll and some that i know that are gonna stand up pretty good. It's just depends on which when you grow in which what they've been actually bred to exactly help. You does Decisions for sure. Now on the mall that you mentioned disalow little bit ago. How much much do you need to put down. After it's kind of you know gotten really really cold outside is there. A certain kind of there is a ballpark anum. The say about three to four inches. Okay don't need any more than that. But you'd want enough much to keep be soil from evening and during the growing seasons you know keep weeds down conserve moisture. Don't go any deeper than that. They'll the peonies them right up through but there's no need so that when you use that muslim various exactly is not needed in other areas of our garden and landscape. Now if somebody wanted to learn a little bit more about growing peonies is there like a great publication or is there a good resource that you found that works really good especially about now in all the things that you've covered today that they might need to teach eat on that. There's a cheat sheet. I mean i've got a powerpoint on it that i'd be happy to send it out or a blow to you thank you. That's not a problem that's got pretty much. The same information minute. There is a peony society though in there is for every benched about but they have some really great information there and they have all the peonies that are on the market that are are named on there and you can go through all those and that's just going to give you some good information or some you know some some basic go look and even some other companies. Thanks that you can go check out. There are some really good commercial kinney rowers out there and a lot of them are more nights but they do hybridize and all that stuff too so some of those are really nice to go check out as well so if you get the opportunity to get out and about maybe this fall you might want to check out some of those resources or like you said call on your extension office to find out more if you to go out and just see some really good tree panties in the spring ugo gardens in logo is actually gonna be a. I want to say. I don't want to speak abbott. I think it's the largest collection of tree peonies in the united states where it's going to be. They have a lot of really nice of you. Might you know that's relatively close our. I guess it's not that close bowling green kentucky for the state of kentucky. So you know you can date drip or van. You wanted but that is a really nice resource. It's pretty pretty close to home in there. There are some other growers out there but ten guards are always going to be good for any of these types of things you want to see. Some of these plants already maturing growing guards. I will talk about a few rods. That i really like and you know some of these are our common some not but as far as the tree panties. I don't have many of those very many usually because the share price of them and they take a little time to mature but a few of these that are just graders there's one called sleight of trains. Which is a large white opinions. Really nice by low. This is nice. Icy heart is another one. It's really of eight for more of a maroon center and it's it's it's really good tree pani. As far as the inner sexual goes absolutely. Everybody should have a bar zella in their collection. It's the yellow the one of the first yet the most popular one still. There's another looks very similar. That remiss prairie charm. And sometimes you can get these find deals on. These intersectional is used to be very expensive. They're still pretty expensive. But they've done some issue culture on these speed seventies along get more market which is jumped advice on. Somebody's another one intersection. It's my one of my absolutely favorites. Try their villas four louise. It's kind of english color with that. Kind of maroon senator. It's really nice. I haven't done here. i can't hardly ever say the name of it. Just because it's scrimp diddy anxious display that at the sink about it before i statements are really pretty one too that there's a of out there though. And then we have the herbaceous which are the type that we're used to usually growing on the ground. Cheer up back in the spring with new shoots and mood flowers. These are newer varieties. Some of these still need to have some support but coral sunset is really nice for him is looking for four. Oh one as a large blend. Monnet snowden paul quarrel hawaii. That's nice when one of my favorites that was spotted o'hare it is a ranch semi doubled. Semisi will harry will say that it stands up on its own in wind and rain and the flowers start out read and it kind of fade to pink color for they dropped. So you'll have in right on the same plant the same time you don't have to worry about staking that plan if you like something with a stripe to this candy. Strike is one. That is white reg striked when something different and then lemon shift on another one of my absolute favorites is a herbaceous. But it's a light yellow. it's one of the first one is fully herbaceous that has that yellow coloring so that was another nice one that one was very expensive. I think it's come down to maybe less than one hundred dollars was three hundred just a few years ago but it is a nice plant is a slow grower. That's five segments along for vice Slow bro so the owner types. All these airlines. These are the ones that the original allow. These were the originals that in france and in europe in rome for cut flowers in got over the united states made no plan them out as a perennial is festive. A maxima is by all time. Favorite of any fanny in. It's not gonna cost you normally but it is a double white with a little red out of a little red center to it just a little brush rate in the middle of it. It always reminds me like an ice cream sunday. That was my absolute favorite. Was one that my grandmother always had ruin cider house. I remember that. Plant as far back as i can remember so. That's my absolute favorite. Sarah bernhardt is a peak. Airland that you'll see a lot of the old home stance if you see a pink peony lemon there. It's going to be served our heart. It's a great roar. it gets pretty tall. Nestle's so it's all these airlines are going to need or orig- harms another one of those. That was one of my grandmother's favorites. I love to. It's probably still the best double rental mark today. As far as i'm concerned i've had several different types but that's still a really really good. It's henry sass is a solid white so those are just a quick rundown and now that fema is listening. This as just the podcast. Many to pullover on the side of the road in a write these down our or wait do it again to write some of those down. Look them up the nice. Just a few varieties new all. There's absolutely hundreds thousands of the market. Right now oh my check out. He said lemon chiffon that does sound chairs beautiful and it's a double light yellow. It's really pretty. It's just slow grower in expensive to get one but when you get it you're gonna have you know for the rest of your life so just been a really good spot. Make sure you give her some extra. Yeah yeah a may not soil and implant it where it needs to be. Give it what it needs. And we'll also try to post some of these you mentioned in the show notes so they wanted to check it out. They can also go there buddy midge in a couple of disease problems that you might have on your peonies. Were those boy. Tried his blights. If you've got a penny that you've had for years and it starts to grow in the u. Gets the buds form and then they never open they just kinda rot fall off or drought. That's revolt tried to supply a couple of things you can do to limit. That one is in the fall. Make sure you the sanitation in your guards all that owed foliage out of there of so you'll get all that those four out of there in the next is you're gonna need to do a fungicide spray in the spring when the plants probably about seven eight inches tall or even a little bit taller. Some you can kill those sports. They actually attacked. But midway you'll get your flowers to open but again sanitation is going to be a really big key to that. The other thing that you might have on these especially certain varieties and i can tell you. Some of them are worse than others is powdery. Mildew usually that's not something that we need to worry too much bad because usually hits late enough in the summer that these plants are pretty ratty by the end in their. You can that the most time you're not going to have to worry too much about that and we're going to get some other leaf spots banks during the growing season but generally that's nothing to worry about because that has already made all the food it needs for the for the next season in just from to deal with some made me some ready looking foliage which british that of ruin peony. So what do you do. Limit that ready foolish than some other. Free meals around that that will grow up next to that and maybe of hot some of that ugly voltage and and i'm glad that you mentioned the two diseases you might run into because those are both pretty common and you covered how to take care of those really well on a lot of banks hell. "To the podcast you can also help out by sharing these stories with your family and friends. Many of these cases can be solved if the right person. Here's in and provide the necessary tip. That could lead to salmi. And that's enough of the coffee business. I would like to start off by saying that. This is my one hundred thapa said when i first started this podcast. Two years ago my soul jacked was fine unsolved homicide cases that were mostly forgotten by the public and the menial two years later my objective remains the same unfortunately thousands of people disappear annually in just as many homicide cases. Go on saw over the past. Two years i've spoken to over one hundred people including law enforcement parents siblings france and authors about various missing persons cases and unsolved homicides. Unfortunately many of these cases will go on solve. There are many different reasons for this either. The suspected perpetrator is deceased. There's no evidence. There's no witnesses or there's no one that will talk about what they know can't even imagine how parentless field either have murdered child or have the child could missing. And i know some of these family members have gone to their brains with a rogan heart because they died without ever getting any answers. For instance brought forty nine and the podcast. I interviewed a former reporter. About the case under dearth of brookville. Linda was a thirteen year old student home from school. To commemorate the funeral of former president lyndon johnson she was raped and murdered on january twenty fifth nineteen seventy-three parents have gone to work in a rather had gone over to help. His grandmother was chores today nearly fifty years of passed since linda. His early killed inside iran. Home the police have never identified the killer after the podcast betty dirt whose linda's mother reached out to me sheared some details of the case and even told me that she was positive that she could like them. Five men killed her daughter however she said that neither her nor law enforcement could versus. She mentioned new family. Well then he told me that this man post likely new on the schedule and probably knew that she be home alone that that he told me that this person is still alive and that this case will probably remain unsolved sat. Betty has since passed away. I find it disturbing that she passed away without ever seen justice for one. I have a feeling they were united after betty department this another case that has left her parents. Heartbroken is local to main. This story involves a homicide of the young pregnant mother named brittany stikes. I covered this story. And abbas if the eight of the blog cast on august twenty eight th two thousand thirteen written. He was pregnant air. fourteen month. Old daughter were on their way to britney's father's home celebrate his birthday. They never made pastor. Why found the deceased body britney and her dog the killer had shot bringing enter broader thankfully the daughter survive fortunately name brittany and her unborn. Child did not survive for the opposite. I spoke to. David dodds whose britain's father in the two homicide detective zubin searching for word news killer. I feel like this was a personal attack bringing most likely newer attack her. I also think that it's possible. The person who killed her may have known britney was going to her father. Schoneman did share my thoughts with the detectives. And i can't say that they have looked into every situation led to her death problem with this cases. No one is talk this case we need to tip to solve it. When i started this podcast. I wanted it to be you need. There are so many podcasts. About true crime but i didn't wanna follow the same format and just retell story with information bound leader. Because i know that much of the information on the internet about these days isn't true. I cringe whenever i hear. Podcast share untrue. Information about cases and i'm mayor for my podcast. I wanted to share unknown facts about the case. Public wasn't aware of so. I decided to go with a completely different format so i have interviewed family members friends reporters and authors and are familiar with the stories and i let them tell the stories on the half and the victims cash micheel podcasts dedicated solely to the victims. It's not an investigation of podcast. It's more of what i would consider a dedication to the victims and their families and it's really important for people to share these stories because more people that listen the better. The chances are that can reach the right person who has vital information about a gays for the one hundredth episode. I interview joanne lewis. Who is the mother of sixteen year old. Alexandra alli loeser. Lieutenant sprang high school in spring. Texas allie was your typical teenager. She enjoyed life. She had friends and she loved her family. Allie was active art choir softball and she was also in the girl scouts with the lives of the lord's family would change forever on april twenty. Six two thousand ten. It was just like any other day for the lowest survey family alley had called from school to ask her mother for permission to walk to the burger. Barn collector paycheck. The burger barn was alley's first job. Allie also wanted to see if she worked at night originally joey and said now but allie begged and pleaded. She had never walked job before. And it was only a short distance from her home after relentless begging from her teenager. Joey finally gave in and gave alley permission to walk her job after school on that day. Alley got off the bus at three o'clock and then began walking or she would disappear and never be seen again. Joanne told me that she was angry with the police because they treated alleys case is this she run away. Join told them that alley would never run away. She was positive something terrible had happened to her daughter. Let's call it mother's instinct because like any other parents. We know something's wrong with our kids. It would take the police view days before they finally opened the case and began searching for out. She's been gone for eleven years. There've been no tips or information about her whereabouts. Joanne has worked with a. Pi received a tip. That allie was a victim of sex trafficking and my inner trap. Housing join told me that the tip didn't lead to anything significant so joanna family continue waiting on finding out what happened to allah now on with the story of ali is told ramal jillian. I wanted to say that. I am familiar with your case. I remember hearing about it years ago. I don't know maybe it was five or six years ago or maybe it was not long after it happened. But i guess over the years. I just assumed that it was resolved. I thought maybe ali had come home or something. But i had no idea that there were still no answers to this case. We ran across that issue quite often especially like if i run into somebody not somebody that i really know but somebody that knows who i am. Sometimes they're like oh she's so missing well right because you never hear about it. There's never any updates or anything about this case. So i'm imagining a lot of people have never heard about it or even realize it. Your daughter is still missing and this is actually the reason. Why even started this podcast. Because i know that after the initial investigation for a homicide case or for a missing persons case. You don't hear much about it. The media goes away in the interest in the case just kinda vanishes then after a while. It's like nobody person is forgotten. And i just don't want that to happen to anybody. I want their case to be remembered. As long as i have the podcast people can always look at the different episodes. So these people that i've interviewed there on the catch killer. I haven't forgotten them. Every time i get a new listener than that new listener is probably gonna listen and then that person will remember that person as well and possibly share the information. That's what i'm trying to. Just bring awareness to missing people like alley so in your situation. I've never had a child disappear so there's no possible way. I could comprehend how you feel or understand how much you miss your daughter. But i would definitely liked you. Get the answers that you deserve. If you look at day. J- though even if somebody is in their twenties or thirties still somebody's child right. It doesn't matter. How old is your child is. You're always gonna love him and worry them so. Tell me about alley. Like when she was born and just kind of a young lady. Was she alexandria. Loescher she was born in pasadena. Texas like i was and my family knew to spring texas and i think she was in kindergarten and we move in spring to have.

Hey we're back tripping over the barrel this time with the most just seen goth year man. That's almost as bad as jp tries to say. I'm just getting alice good. No i appreciate the intro. That was pretty solid. I gotta say let's let's get the exact pronunciation okay. So justice free standard like whether you're in canada. Us within so the way my grandmother would pronounce it is good ta But then if you're in south louisiana goce so one of the two or combination of somehow is pretty solid but if i introduced myself i just say justin goce so yeah that's parents. I've heard everything from gunther to gothard mother weird stuff and i mean. That's for me. To like when i when i'm podcasting always trying to ask people's names even if it looks like paul smith. Can you please pronounce your name. Because i will somehow mess it up and Yeah so name thing especially growing up in always hearing people's like mispronounce it I try to respect other people's names. So yeah you're you're speaking to the choir here buddy right so many ask you is. Is it looser. Lost her loser. How do you pronounce your name. Loeser loeser yeah. Yeah right it. Some sort of german derivation of loza and when he got over here it was loeser. And some unfortunate farmer couldn't spell it told the senate this guy is pronounced loeser and the guy writes it down and that's where my wing of the family is stuck with right. I hear you and then there's funk which is like the coolest last name ever out thank you. Yeah you see their facebook post the keepers of defunct. And all of that and yeah. It's awesome it's it's you can't really put like an accident spin on it but i mean just the fact that it's it's fun it's awesome so so i like it. I got a spin on this whole conversation. So a friend of mine. Good friend of mine from canada came down to work in houston for three or four years now and he was getting fed up with words that were clearly french. Words like four. You're just getting really worked up over how we a four year. Whatever so anyway. He's working for this company while pennzoil at the time and he's stumbled across this guy's name claude picard and he goes finally another knock talk to so he picks up the phone and calls this guy and guy answers the phone claude. Pickard just just killed a.

"To happen again. It really is and you know I don't see going back dave. You know it's just going to. I think we're just going to pick up right where we were before the pandemic you know and Maybe some new players have been able to save some money. Do whatever other players that may have been on the cusp of You know of hitting the rails Maybe have some time to relax. You know when Get themselves centered again and save up some money so We saw down here. With the seminal hard rock also just a little while ago six seven weeks ago and You know this is. This is something that's gonna continue in my opinion. Dave yeah i think it is too and We'll see what happens with the world series moving to the fall world series starts on. September the thirtieth. And we'll be following all that of course but right now to fill the void is the wpa online event. That i mentioned. And i just wanted to touch on a few things. One of the most interesting things i've found From this whole tournament was The since it's being played online you know. Obviously the players have their names. And i think some of the names that the players use have been pretty funny and you know informative really about their personalities. A little bit Kathy lee gifford has been playing very well She recently followed us on twitter. are tweets on twitter so That was interesting to me and a lot of big name players doing very well Winning the The one of the monster stack which was one of the first. Big events was manny gloser and Just a couple of names. I just wanted to pass along. was ryan apollo who Who was the guy who won the The online tournament from the parking lot at a whole foods. I think it was up in new jersey. New york came into new jersey or something right right. Joey is a mush. That's his name online Nick schulman bubble this tournament but his his online name is cash. Us clay cassius. Clay and i thought was pretty good and then of course you got A bunch of other guys Andrew lichtenberger doesn't play as lucky chewy. Places watch guy forty two Kathy lee bird's name is lucky gal and You know you learn a little bit about some of these people with some of these tournaments but That was a win for manic. Loeser in that one Jeremiah williams won the thousand dollar buying eight max event Matt stout played very well in that tournament. He ended up finishing in sixth place. Was it No fourth place wanting forty one thousand jeremiah. Williams was a winner. One hundred thirty six and The whole Basically the whole scene online is really kind of Brought people out. And i thought it's it's it's done pretty well. Listen like we said before. I think people would just jonesing to get out there and do all of this so I think we'll be talking about a lot of these tournaments getting bigger and bigger and you know as as we keep going on In the very near future on our show some of the players just use another Another player's name. There's one guy who uses. His nickname is still ivy online. Which probably scares the hell. Out of some people you got Scott davies who plays his miami kane and Jamie kerr steadier uses. Dan bills area is her as her screen. Name that's amazing way. I'm having fun. They can have fun with that. That's one of the great things another question. Anyway that goes on thirty three tournaments in the schedule and they'll be playing Let's see until november right over while november is the is the main this live event anyway. i don't i don't have the couple of well here. It is august first through august. First event thirty three is the final event. There they're still a high roller for thirty two hundred dollars. Buy in but most of these are in the range of four hundred to six hundred dollars. So pretty affordable When people play on waso p dot com commingled pools there with the different groups. Yep it's gonna be fun. It's going to be definitely fun. And hopefully that'll help online poker. Go to a lot of different states so culpable pools like you said so. It'll happen sooner than later day. One other thing. I wanted to mention And we'll get. I guess we'll have to get to that other situation next week. But There's a story coming out of germany that There's been harsh restrictions put on a lot of the players over there so a lot of players have moved out of germany to other you locations. Here's some of the things that have happened there. They have created a tax five point three percent turnover tax so this is in addition to the regulations that they put in place last fall when they wouldn't allow german citizens to play more than four tables deposit more than a thousand euros per month on a site or select their own seats. A cash game tables so Players are just fed up and have gone elsewhere. There's the government getting involved against as a result poker stars raising their rake. They've eliminated a lot of the high stakes offerings from german players and You know it's it's it's basically you know they're cutting their own throat. Basically with these decisions. I think well listen Once the government gets involved in these things for the most part. It's it's never a good thing for the players. So yeah they said in No limit and pot limit games with blinds of one dollar to dollar and also limit games with three and six. The rake has been increased to thirty five percent. God that'll kill the game quickly. So i guess part of it is whether where you're from too because they said if there's a split pot between a german and a non-german player. The german player will pay more warren. Rake than the other.

"Here. We go with the interview unhappy to introduce our guest for this episode. Is kevin loeser kelp founder of holistic plan. Kevin welcome to the program. Thank you thanks for the invite and looking forward to having the conversation with you today. Good to see again too. Good to see you were talking about conferences again because we used to sit next to each other at conferences and listen to panel discussions of things and and make jokes and hope they will be able to do that again in the fall right. Yeah i hope so. We're definitely planning on it and yet last time you and i saw was an. It's the last conference. I was at t three in san diego back in february before things really started getting shut down. So that's the last time i was on a plane last time i was at a conference. I'm looking forward to getting back. Yeah me too because that was the last conference. It seems so long ago but it will happen again a now. 'cause i've already committed to a couple of conferences in the fall. So i know you guys are looking at conferences too so Definitely going to. We'll get back to it and we were also talking about football. So you are pittsburgh steelers fan correct. I am since. I was five years old. I was back during their heyday in the late seventies so and being from pennsylvania. I was about three hours east of pittsburgh in the central part of the state. So you grew up a steelers fan. i've changed allegiances across my other sports. Now moving to dc the dc area. But i've always kept my allegiance to the steelers ons good. I'm an eagles fan. So i've been eagles for over forty years so i know the feeling but the eagles and steelers do not play this year so we can't make any bets on whether they had the head and the eagles are going to be bad this year. So i don't wanna make any bets either. About which will have a better record but We can certainly we can still have another podcast on football discussions about the two franchises and their direction yet. A to pennsylvania franchises we will have to have a healthy debate about that little wisely being in the center of the state. Because i had my choice. I could go. Steelers could go eagles in for football. I ended up taking the steelers again because they were in super bowl. When i was a kid. I it's okay. Yeah the world war two..

Pressure mounts on Alabama publisher after he urges KKK to 'ride again'

"Alabama newspaper publisher faces demands that he resigned after his paper called for the KKK to ride again. He said the white supremacist groups should clean out Washington. Troy public radio's Kyle Gasset got reaction in Linden, Alabama. For the past week. One name keeps getting repeated at the checkout stand in Linden's Dollar General that of good low Sutton publisher editor of the democrat reporter newspaper. Pretty you'll get the people around Linden about good Loeser. Bobbi Williams has worked at the store for sixteen years. He remembers a newspaper racks were full of the democrat reporter on the front sidewalk, but about six months ago, another racially charged story changed that and lead to boycotts. They moved them and took him off the stores, but still somehow he printed his payback. He got him around in the past few years sentence op EDS have been particularly divisive in two thousand seventeen he wrote African American athletes should be allowed to kneel during the national anthem because two hundred years ago blacks were taught to kneel before white men in his latest column published last week he called for the Ku Klux Klan to rise up and quote nitrite. Again, he also singled out Democrats who he claims are plotting to raise taxes in Alabama. Prominent Alabama lawmakers have called on Sutton to resign. They include longtime GOP Senator Richard Shelby democrat Doug Jones, and Alabama's Republican governor civil rights activists are also upset about good lows column. He's used the word Democrats. But I have sneaky suspicion that he's talking more about African-Americans Benard simultaneous is the president of the Alabama chapter of the N double A C P. He says Sutton made a parts of his op Ed they claimed freed slaves once borrowed their masters Klan robes too frightened or kill people. And he's angry that Sutton later compared to the NWEA C P to the clan. I would ask them certain. How many churches has the NWC Pete mom you kill folk? How many heads the end of lease deal in two thousand nine Auburn university gave Sutton and his wife Jean awards for their investigative reporting. But yesterday. Auburn stripped him of the award. According to journalism advisory council, chairman, Anthony, cook, those types of comments were just flabbergasted. They're just outrageous and outlandish and cannot be tolerated. The university of southern Mississippi remove Sutton from its hall of fame and the Alabama Press Association, formerly censured him. Good low Sutton hasn't backed down under withering national criticism. But he did declined to be interviewed for this story saying he had to work on this weeks paper, which will be published tomorrow
