"This morning as me and our three-year-old were about to do math I told him to get the abacus. Has Stall Tactics telling me about dinosaurs T. REX's digital Alex. Lions elephants in like. But not, today, we sat on the SOFA. And as unprepared to slide the beats of the epic is over. He said to me mom you Miss Your Dad I. Do I reply with a rhetorical yet affirmative of course I miss my dad in my head that's what I wanted to say. But I said in just listened. Yeah because he's in heaven I miss him to. Our son's three. My Dad was killed in. Nineteen. ninety-one they've never met. Not here on this earth. In the physical round in the spiritual realm I'm not sure what that can counter was like took that question away. We went on about our day we played. We ate lunch there was no further mention of my dad. It wasn't until put them down for NAP and I began prepping for dinner that a song came on. What we have is much more than they can see. I'm not sure what the trigger was. But it reminded me of being in middle school seventh grade walking around the track looking up into the sky saying if I could project site into the heavens. Just to see my dad. I know it sounds crazy. But that was my middle school mind. It took me a few years to grapple with the understanding of what happened. It was so traumatic. So instant. into the tears flowed tears of joy though because see our son was doing a math of his own. What I was focused on was the present value. The present value of how I felt at that time I was happy. I was totally not even thinking about my dad. But Isaiah. He was. Focused on. The future value. How I would feel in the future how he knew I'm not sure but he did. And, that's what I want to tell you today God is focused on. Your future value. Don't worry about the. Subtracting in dividing that you did in the past. Diminished value don't worry about that. God is focused on your future value. He's adding up all of your future value banking on you. He has bank on you so much so That he sent his son Jesus. So, much so that he sit his son Jesus. Many would say. It was a subcontractor as he hung on that cross. But I say. He was adding the value. Of each of our lives. Is No coincidence that the cross. Looks like an addition sign. because. God. was adding value.

Services sector index increases to 58.1 reading in July

"Know service businesses, everything from restaurants to banks and from retail. The software development made up make up the lion's share of the U. S. Economic output. And in July that part of the economy grew an index of service businesses from the Institute for Supply Management rose more than forecast climbing to 58.1 as the recovery goes on from an 11 year low of 41.8 back in April. Readings above 50 do suggest industries are growing rather than contracting, and the latest reading is not far from the 13 year high in September 2018. Now that bit of economic news is better than an earlier report of a major miss for payroll gains at US companies in July, according to pay check processor ADP private sector hiring generated just 167,000 jobs in July. That compares to the upwardly revised 4.3 million increase in June

"A debate with field yates is Asinine I just want everyone on I. Love Matt. Harrington. He's a terrific producer. He's produced fantasy football. Now for many many years, he's he's one of the best we have at the company, make no mistake about that. But just I want everyone to understand when you're reading graphics and you understand sort of the fake news of it. All just understand where the motivation is coming from at the very at the very top of it i. just I just want everyone to understand that doesn't that's right. There you go. Yeah. In an Asterik file, that's what funny but. Circle back here Matthew. Fantasy show Kenny Golladay. Let's circle back there because Kenny Golladay top ten fantasy wide receiver for twenty. Twenty. I think he is. I think he's borderline you know the concerns on Golladay is you know again, he had a couple of really big plays which. Helped inflate a stats and Having said that he's an insanely talented player. He's the number, one wide receiver, and again as we of talk about target share, right, I mean like and we talk about who else the lions have to throw to. It's not a lot I. mean you. You Got Marvin Jones. You've got Hopkinson, you've got Amendola, but honestly it's it's Kenny Golladay is going to be the number one guy third-most endzone targets last year. Tenth Highest Red Zone Target, chair? I mean you know like when they getting close Matthew Stafford's looking for them. Here is the big concern have with Kenny Golladay him being a top ten wide receiver this year. Reminder. Defaults going. Then Kyle spell this out in terms of statistics, but can golladay cautious fifty, six point, five percent of his matthew staffer targets in two thousand, nineteen for context, Marvin Jones at seventy two point, four percents. Nearly sixteen percent different. Now, part of that's because Kenny Golladay is the vertical threat in this offense and whether it's Kenny whether it was Marvin Jones deep or Kenny golladay running deep is a less efficient, throw every time or every yard. The ball travels further down the year. That's just basic simple football understanding. Kenny is going to be a vertical threat again, right. So there are enough players whether they. We just rifle through the top ten wide receivers, the guard, top five wide receivers, Mike Thomases, and Deandre Hopkins Julio Jones that are less vertical for threats then Kennedy Cantagalo. Volume just might pace them right past Kenny. God. So while they have them as wide receiver seven, the only concern for me is that the volume isn't substantial enough in catchable situations to make a difference in the fantasy points category as compared to some of these other wide receivers that we will talk about or have talked about already. I think that's totally fair. I'm the lowest of the three of us on him I have. Mitt Wide Receiver Eight. That's where he's going at P. There is some concern that he's a little bit deep ball dependent. You know who I think is a value this year though field is Marvin Jones who interesting? Okay. Jones ADP is wide receiver thirty, four I'm at wide receiver thirty four slightly higher than you were or Daniel. But this guy who thirsty, Kyle, can you look this up real quick? What was Marvin Jones under Matthew Stafford. Top. Twenty fantasy wide receiver I believe fourteen internal points thirteen per game. Why would you thirteen and points per game? With Matthew, Stafford as his quarterback actually finished as top twenty fantasy wide receiver. He's going as wide receiver thirty four, and he's always an end. Don't target for them. It's just been a hallmark of his game as he has always been very endzone. Friendly Marvin jobs is one of those guys that you're gonNA draft if. You're on zoom call, whatever you're doing. You're drafting drop Marvin Jones. No one in the League is going to go like Ooh like when you draft like Portland Sutton are somebody or Calvin Ridley this year people in going to like no one's GonNa go. ooh Harvey Jones like there's nothing sexy about drafting. Marvin. Jones. But I'm just telling you like he's going to provide a prophet at wide receiver thirty four legitimately again was top fifteen fantasy wide receiver and a Matthew Stafford last year finish the years the top twenty. Twenty wide receiver, they added no other. You know we're going to get. We'll talk about Hopkinson hundred per second, but I'm not really worried about Hopkinson as somebody that's going to take a significant amount of target share away from Marvin. Jones. Before you and I flat gums about Hopkinson, I did WANNA brings to find your an ear because Hopkinson is not just dealing with an injury situation right now, he dealt with one last year's to find your, what's the latest on it's in both from Covid a twenty, nineteen perspective. Injury that he had. He had an ankle injury. It was really ugly. If you remember seeing his ankle basically got bent. Backwards and? We never hear much from Detroit We always talk about this, never get detail on the nature of the injury. But if you look at the fact that in December, he was still getting around on a scooter meaning. He wasn't putting any weight through that ankle. It was being protected I in June, he was up to running routes, but we heard that he was still not one. One, hundred percent, this is exactly the kind of player that when I typically go to training camps, I wanna see what their activity is. Right. I WANNA see how is he moving on that ankle? Does he look to be back to being able to make cuts and push off of it? Normally, we don't have that same access this year due to the cove situation and then There's TJ. Placed, on the reserve covid nineteen lists. So again, we don't know whether that means he's tested positive for just been exposed to someone, but might that end up influencing how much practice time he gets. This is one to watch closely because if I'm not seeing a lot of activity from him before the season, I'm going to be a little bit nervous about just how good. He'll look when he does get into game action and then that build up from your one year two, we saw great start out of the gate last year with him against Arizona. But I think that was more of an indictment about how Arizona covered tight ends than anything else because we didn't see a performance like that. The rest of the year I think there's still a ways for him to go. Find a great stuff as always enjoy your mansion. We'll talk to you at some point again very soon. Thank you. The job well done. Let's talk. Real here the hawk. I'm slightly lower on him I? Mean again, you hear the health concerns here. We know the talent, we saw it in college, but we just we saw the. I know that's the part that I. So yeah. Now buzz worthy Noah Santa's right now. Right? Very buzzy buzz. Worthy is. Buzz worthy. You knew it was a much better player during their final college season, his teammates and say course special, and that's the part that keeps her like a guy here, all the warning signs from to find you and you're right about the target distribution. But I'm just I'm leaving a little bit of a of the door is slightly ajar in the event that the stardom peaks pretty J. Hopkinson and next thing you know we're talking about him is one of the great tight ends in the NFL which I totally get the I feel like there's a lot of tight end sort of in that range like you mentioned Noah Fan, you mentioned. Hopkinson. Mike Koseki, right. The guys that could sort of emerge Dallas Qatar. I mean there's another guy that I know they love and Philadelphia like there's all these sort of young tight ends that are all sort of in that that ten to fifteen range, right and. Titan players that qualified the position of tight. End..

"Like we talk about like you know not only the the obvious guys, right. The you know the the Lamar Jackson, the world. But like you know cuyler Murray and Josh Allen, and we're seeing more and more guys in homes, Patrick Mahomes. We had two different games. We had over fifty rushing yards last year. So we're seeing more and more guys adding value with their legs and staffers just not going to be one of those guys agreed. There's that there's also death, right? Like he's got Kenny Golladay, he's got Marvin Jones and then. Any. TJ Hawkins at like. There's a there's like there's not a lot of depth around him. If anything were to happen in a season which you know again Kennedy's also in the Kobe nineteen list. So. Allison also recently out that, they do not that enter a deputy just one less. I'm just saying there are other. There are other teams where if something happened to one of their big wide receivers, you feel better about that team here than you do the lions. So that's another concern here. WHY DON'T WE TURN TO DANIEL DOPP? Who's doing his Best Matt Patricia Impression today just put a pencil behind you're. Can you put a pencil behind your ear? The there you go. You're Matt, Patricia Right now. Well, you know guys look, it's a, it's been a tough run game. We're getting out there. We we drafted the Andrea Swift. We're GONNA. Make sure we get involved. Obviously. Bella did a great job. More pass heavy last year than we thought devil oftens rake is. The attention to detail to have the eraser. Out Supposedly eraser tucked behind your head Daniel, you are a lifelong and you are low to the soil when it comes to the lion. So. You have him. You Have Matthew. Do you own a matthew? Stafford. Jersey I do and you were a lifelong Detroit Lions Fan. Mathis effort garage sale before accurate. I. Love Matthew. Stafford. However in fantasy everything that I saw last year before his back injury looked fantastic points bringing basis. He crushed it. I. Don't know. Is it wrong? Just saying like I've watched the Lions play for twenty years. So I'm a little bit pessimistic until I. See it happen like I think this comes back down to a little bit. We talked about the Rogers though is that simply there are a lot of quarterbacks who have a lot of things going in their favor this year now that they don't need as many things to stay on track to maintain that value is perhaps Matthew Stafford does right. So Matt. Matt Ryan and is a good comp Matt Ryan in terms of athletic ability both guys who are not runners but can runs they might pick up one hundred, fifty rushing yards year and in a good year, right. But Matt Ryan has better and deeper weapons. I would say, right? Sorry. I. Think that's probably a pretty EAS-? Pretty Fair statement beyond that like Matthew Stafford and Matt Ryan, they have sort of comparable defensive questions that, hey, how are you supposed to separate someone like Matthew, Stafford? From a Matt Ryan from maybe even a Carson wentz right I mean he's got. Better running ability, but probably inferior weapons unless things break. Really Right. So her there are all kinds of part of this territory that. Yeah, it's I if I left the draft and I was so ridiculously patient on quarterback. Matthew, Stafford was the best available player I'm going into my season feeling fine, but he's also not a quarterback that if I am creating a target list of the top ten to twelve, he's not on my top ten to twelve target list just why we haven't ranked fifteen and I think that's fair. I think he's like you know what he is. He's like I would put him in the same Matt. Ryan is a good comp, Carson Wentz, I, think drew brees, I. Think they're all like breathe a little more confident. The ceilings really high end breese. He reminds me. We're Andy Dalton for lot of years and fantasy football. He has rarely the quarterback that you were targeting. But if you had him throughout the season, he probably wasn't the reason you lost your year. You didn't win your championship. Exactly. He is fine. He's going to be an above average fantasy football quarterback this year, but and I'm saying this. This, even though he was a top six quarterback last year, it's unlikely to me that he winds up the year inside the top five like wind up somewhere between eight and twelve like he's fine. But like Ben Rothlisberger going around him, like Ben Rothlisberger could be a top five fantasy quarterback. If everything breaks, right. We've seen it before like eighteen was a top five quarterback. So I anyway. Let's move over that. Yeah. But we KINDA. Like he's to me, he's one of the hardest place to rank. This year would say that's fair. Another one that's tricky is lines running back to you on your roster as a reminder to people, they use the thirty fifth overall pick in this year's draft on the Andrea Swift out of Georgia, and this is one of my favorite stat. Think about all the great running back have come from. From Georgia and talking about recently. But recently, you've got nick, Chub, could play. Right? Really good player is sort of Michelle who had an awesome rookie post-season. We'll see what he makes of his NFL career. girly. I mean. One of the greats right I mean we've seen some studs going to Georgia. Yeah. No Sean, Merano? Yes. Sure. Number like we've had a lot of really really good players. You knew lead Georgia in terms of career yards per carry. I'm going to guess since we're in the Lions Andrea Swift. And deadly. I must have led you down that road to live up in many breadcrumbs they are. This one's a really tough one. This one is a really, really tough one. So. Look. Here's the thing Matt. Patricia. and. This is one of the reasons why I was somewhat down on Kerryon Johnson, going into last year relative to where he was going. Matt Patricia Comes from the Bill Belichick. School Matt Patricia Come, as Bob, Quinn..

They were going to shut it down September or October 31st But now they say households have to complete the census by September 30. The date Census Bureau says that they're knocking on doors of households that haven't done the census that's coming to an end changes likely to raise new concerns about how the Census Bureau possibly undercounts. New Brookings Institute analysis. They checked the US population with regularity, and they say it's the younger folks that are edging out the baby boomers, baby boomers right now 162 million. And when you look at millennials and points younger, it's 166 million. So the oldest millennials are now 39. Gen Xers be born between 65 80 Gen. Z after 96. Solving the Murders of Katherine and Sheila Lyon

"Not like we're just talking about it for any kind of thrill. We're talking about it because we need to know what's going on in our society that's making this happen really drew. Okay, so we'll start John. Lyon, met his future wife. Xavier. University in Cincinnati. They were both students there. His wife Mary was from Erlanger Kentucky John was the Chicago. Boy. They married in Air Langer and had their first child a boy they named. Jay. Then after graduation John got a job at a radio station in Ohio, that's where Sheila was born. then. He worked at a radio station Illinois and Catherine more and they're. Following that John worked in both TV and radio in Peoria. He was on a daytime children's program where he played the guitar and Banjo. And in that same time period, nary was in a folk band. And then she gave birth to their youngest child Joe. Some pretty cool people I. Think they sound very interesting. He does. And she s in a folk band I. think that's really cool and it was the seventies. So they were kind of hit by guests. Yeah, probably. John's hard work eventually paid off. You got hired at W. M. A., l.. which at the time, the seventies was the most popular radio station in Washington, D.. C.. And John, was a pretty talented radio personality. So working at this station's worked as a fill in disc jockey, he read the news and he performed in a band, the multitask. Yeah John and Mary were both Pretty Witty People very well-spoken. So March Twenty, ninth nineteen, seventy, five was unseasonably warm in the suburbs of Washington. DC. Catherine. And Sheila Lyon. Ages ten and twelve were on spring break from school. John had worked the night shift the night before and drove home at six. Am that morning and went to bed. She learned Catherine. went to the Wheaton Mall. They had two dollars between them and they plan to get two slices of pizza. And Mary was happy to see them go together. She led the older one, didn't always want to spend time with their little sister, but recently, the two would become close played together like friends. But John Woke up that afternoon to an empty house. Mary had gone bowling and the boys were off playing with friends in the neighborhood. Mary came home with their younger boy. Joe Soon, after John Woke up, then he went back to bed for nap before dinner and Mary went and Rick. Some leaves in their backyard. When the sun began to go down, Mary really began to worry about her daughters. They were usually really good about being home for dinner and Sheila would call if they were at a neighbor's house playing. But Sheila had called and there had been no sign of the girls. But this is nineteen, seventy five. Your mind is not going to go to objection at this point. Nobody really thought like that. No, not then now. So they went ahead and had dinner with the two boys waiting for the girls to show up assuming they would. and. When there was still no word after they finish dinner Mary began calling around to all of their friends. No one had seen them though. So the family drove around looking for the girls and as time passed and they looked for their daughters in the Dr, the alarms really began to go off in their heads that something was wrong. So that's when they decided to call the police. But most runaways. The lions sisters, and they were nearly always found within twenty four hours. So when these girls were still missing overnight, the police began to realize that this was a case that was different. And the idea of follow play was becoming a real possibility at that point. The John and Mary told the police that this was just totally out of character for their girls both were honor roll students, and they both followed rules Catherine who went by Kate. Was the outgoing. "Moves that don't stack on top of one another and to get rid of him again this after the if like you said it's With above winner Bustier for for both of them. So we'RE GONNA be starting over from scratch again, and then do you get rid of the Darrell bubble if Matthew staffer looks great with them but you go six and ten is your head coach you can come up with one good defensive scheming year. Well they they have defensive players. This year they at when you're defenses is bad as they were I think the way that they approach the of just. adding. So many pieces is the right move because they're just trying to get to average and they added NFL quality guys. I'm not as DOWN ON PATRICIA NECESSARILY I. GotTa have a chance. He's not a defensive mastermind. It's all like the Patriots defenses with him were so bad. But the reason I think they are exciting they have been a boring franchise I'll buy that but the reason their exciting because they're often I mean Matthew Stafford I think you're underselling him in terms of top ten quarterback. A top three or four quarterback for the six or seven games he's in there now maybe it's a sample size thing you shouldn't get too carried away, but I don't think there was even a question and otherwise the best he was playing in his entire career and then you look at the pieces around him, the wine is fine I. Don't think it's a great line but I think it's fine. It's not back the. Andre Swift was the one running back in the class I thought was like if he was coming out ten years ago, he might have been a top ten pick i. mean he just has everything you could possibly want in a running back. You have carry on Johnson's who is a great back of the F. TJ Hopkinson who should be better in his second year and you still have Golladay Jones in Amendola, which is a rock solid if not better receiver group. I mean that is a that is a fun offense that was playing really well the. Only thing that worries me about all that was it was six games in its Daryl bubble and it's like maybe we're putting a little too much I'm those six games but those six games there was a lot to believe that that you can carry it over in that they would be maybe a top five, six, seven offense if they have that type of potential. Yeah. Like I said before you named all the pieces but aside from having to backs now, where's the depth of the wide receiver group? I don't see the depth there now can you find the fourth guy Kennedy gets hurt Marvin Jones gets hurt again I think they're just too thin at all those positions that they need everybody to stay healthy for sixteen games in order to content. The idea that I'm buying Matt Matthew Stafford top five quarterback from wire-to-wire. Not, I'll by that I mean I get that but I think he was playing at that sort of level for for five or six games strips their last. I want to rectify something Patra. 'cause it annoyed me in the moment. and now we have a golden opportunity on Friday show. Myself Greg and mark failed to really nail down what happened in Matt Staff Stafford's loan playoffs start his career a a loss to the cowboys. It was the week before the DEZ caught it game. But none of us in the moment could remember why it was so painful and why lions fans were angry afterwards I want you to be the voice of the Lions fans and tell tell America and the world why the Lions got. The fact that none of you great football mines remember is just exemplify. No never forget a boy. I mean it's got overshadowed the next week by. Week right penalty on the cowboys pass interference they through the freaking flag and then got together and decided they didn't want to Piss off Jerry Jones, and took up. and. Then we had the worst continent. That went negative seventy, five yards the wrong way and lost the game I. Did I did say something about pass interference on this show by the way but I couldn't. Waged never even have. So. Yes. Maybe Karma caught up to the cowboys. The next week is, did you I guess the Lions? Fan. You got some something out of that. Well I. Mean it was the packers but yeah. It's true. It's always in. That's why the lines will always stay high up on the pain rankings because the with the true painful franchisers, there's layers to it. Also, when you think that the onions peel back all the way, there's just more than Patrick as a true fan sees that. One that's Patra. An apology. That's happening here. I don't know. About like congratulations on the birth of your son. Thank you. It's been too long. It's been too long tap. is almost four months. How you doing how's father? Pandemic. You know it was the first couple months when he didn't see anybody that was pretty good. We got to figure out how to be parents without you know the in laws over every other week and. So It. Now, this would not on behalf of the PODCAST. This one's just me. When Nick shook hit the scene and started showing up in the pod studio with that body. It's a visual album, and I didn't realize this and I probably should have connected the dots before, but she was so inspired by being in line King. That there's lying King in Black is king. So you hear Simba like Morphosis talking in the beginning, and I'm like, Why is move faster here and then Nala And then later on, she's talking about the Matanza. And there's Timonen Put Mamba and so first that was like, Oh, okay, I get it. Now I get why it's wanted us to be plus so going into it. Had you done much reading on it, or you kind of just went in and then maybe checked on some stuff afterward. Sounds like Yeah, I checked on stuff afterward. That's generally what I like to do just to kind of make sure you know, kind of get a Clean slate while I'm watching it going, okay? This is how I feel about it versus you know, being tainted by somehow lately I'm the same way use. Yeah. The only thing that I heard before my brother had watched it before me, and he just said you must watch it. And so there you go. That's all I heard. But so compared tto lemonade. What was the experience like? It was similar in the sense that there are a lot of Visually. It's stunning, absolutely gorgeous. I mean, you just think about just her accessories and fashion how many racks they needed Because every scene she had a few different outfits that she wore huge outfits of tulle and Metallic puffy sleeves and lace. And just just imagining that alone is Lau and then I also wonder if her mom designs a lot of her clothing. How involved Tina? Her mom, you know was in the process, so just that alone. Stunning and the story itself. She kind of expands on the Lion King story. But there there were a couple moments now, First of all, Let me just say this, too. I love Beyonce. So I'm looking at it through those colored that vision, you know, because I know that she is gets a lot of pushback for you know, trying to be too perfect and I do feel like it must be exhausting to be Beyonce because she she always looks amazing. She always looks amazing. You know, that's what we expect from her. We expect it to be like just perfect pristine and she did deliver that. You know, so At the same time, you know, I do see that At one point, I was watching it on hills like, Oh, there she goes again, You know, like she's looking absolutely gorgeous. And you know, it's really Beyonce focused, and it really starts that way so she isn't and it's available. On Disney, so you can watch me. Plus? Yes. Yep. You can watch the whole thing. It's It's almost two hours. I want to say, Oh, wow. It's Yeah. Oh, Is there an album that you can video like, 10 minutes? Oh, no, no, it's a whole film. No, it's like a whole movie experience. Yep. Come and they're in with. There's a short song that she does with her husband be Jay Z. Forell is in it at one point to the one of the songs that kind kind of teared up a little because it felt so empowering. She's like a mood and it just Her daughters are in it as well and and her son, her kids, You can see them, Shell says. A song with Naomi Campbell and Lupita and Young Go and Kelly Rowland, and they're looking at each other. Just like you're so beautiful and, you know, felt like good sisterhood. And they all telling Beyonce she looks beautiful or each other. They're telling each other Okay. Build a little awkward to be like. Oh, well, I would like you to tell me how beautiful I am. You do feel that sense, though, because even when they're doing like group dances They're the dancers are all in one color. And then Beyonce's in a different shade of the same color or something completely different. Like a contrast as if that's what you're looking at. Yeah, you're just looking at Beyonce dancing, you know, so I mean, and the hair extensions alone. I can't even imagine there's one where she's on like a Uh, you know what the painters like some scaffolding and The hair is just Like two stories. It's super long

Beyoncé Releases "Black Is King" Visual Album on Disney+

"Has to start with Beyonce. Indeed, I've seen a few minutes of her new visual album is called Black Is King. She released it yesterday on Disney Plus It's a 90 minute film manned the whole idea, I guess is it's her re imagination of the Lion King. And what she says is that her hope is that it shifts the global perception of the word black, which has always meant inspiration and love and strength and beauty to me. But black is king means Black is regal and rich in history, in purpose and in language. The Part that I've seen so far. I mean, it is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. It is. I don't know is it was shot. Use it. I don't tell you I have inside is just music. And is there anyone else in? It isn't just heard. There's no no, no, no, no. There's all kinds of people in. It was this pre pandemic that she had made this I was here on that either. Sure, if it was pre Pim friend pandemic, she said it began in her backyard and then went on from there. But this is a major production. Okay, Blue Ivy is in it. And apparently one of the twins is for a minute. I don't know. Okay. The fashion wardrobe from her longtime wardrobe curator, Zarina Acres is the one who Has done all of this work there a thing. There's also a ah Valentino ho couture leopard jumpsuit. There are the The hairstyles are unbelievable. How about the bedazzled eyebrow jewelry? Yes. And she also wears a pair of glasses that are all pearls. I don't think you're supposed to see through them, but they're all pearls it not just the rim. The entirety. Of course. Why? Why would you need to see anything? I I I can't imagine how long it took to do this. The few songs I heard were good. Um, but The song's almost seem Superfluous because it's it's the I don't know where this wass it looks like it's Africa. Maybe it was because they have a lot of African culture in it. But

Panasonic Talks Energy Density

Panasonic Talks Energy Density

"Are at with that out of. Of the way, let's get sort of the main news here, and this is on Panasonic batteries. This is per a Reuters report, they spoke with Panasonic's of US v Batteries and they report quote Panasonic corporate plans to boost the energy density of twenty. One, seventy battery cells supplies to test link by twenty percent in five years and commercialize a cobalt free version in two to three years. The head of its US battery business said and quote they also report that Panasonic has already cut the content. Content to less than five percent of Nikko Cobalt, Aluminum Cathode, which by the way I have to apologize about because the other day in an episode, I, was saying nickel manganese cobalt. So embarrassing, but anyway, Rogers also says that Panasonic already with the twenty one, seventy cells has improved energy density by more than five percent, and while they declined to link the further twenty percent increase to Tesla's future vehicles, they did say that in September, they will start converting lions at gigafactory Nevada quote as. As a prepares to further boost the energy density of the cells Takemoto set and quote. So overall I think pretty exciting information here though a bit limited in terms of what we actually can learn from it. We don't know if the energy density here for his two volume metric or gravel metric, and we also don't really know if that increase in energy density will coincide with a reduction in cost as well. Though presumably, it would because if you make more energy dense battery cells you need. Need fewer battery cells to actually power the thing that you were trying to power with those batteries. So I think presumably cost beneficial as well, and unlikely that Panasonic would be pushing for something if there was not eventually going to be a cost benefit from it or at least be affordable enough to have a viable use case at scale I think it's also exciting that they have a cobalt free version in the works for two to three years from now, but the twenty percent energy density. Density improvement is a five year goal. So presumably, that twenty percent increase would be after extracting out all the cobalt from the process thinking about that twenty percent increase in energy density though over five years from compound annual growth rate perspective, that's three point, seven percent per year, which I think does sound about right looking at the historical progress. If we look at the Model S. from two, thousand, twelve to two, thousand, twenty, the range on the Model S. increased from two, hundred, sixty, five miles. Miles EPA all the way up to four hundred and two miles. So that's a five point, three percent compound annual growth rate in the available range. But of course, not all of that is attributable to the energy density of the battery cell. There's a lot of efficiencies within the powertrain and even things like wheels and tires that are contributing to that rate. So the improvement in energy density is likely below that though again, really it's improvement in energy density per cost. That is most important. Important looking forward, if that twenty percent improvement was applied to the range on the model three today and the Monterey today that would put the model three range at about three, hundred, eighty, six miles up from three, hundred, twenty, two miles if it were just a straight twenty percent increase and then similarly for the Mata, why it would go from three, hundred, sixty, miles, two, hundred and seventy nine. But again, that's just the increase from the battery cells that assumes no other progress throughout the rest. Rest of the powertrain or the battery pack or innovations that allow for reduction in weight of the vehicle, things like that. That will also, of course, happen over time. The other option that energy density improvements allow for is obviously to put the same amount of energy in less space or with less weight, which would improve the vehicle's efficiency. So even with the same energy, call it seventy, five kilowatt hours, the vehicle would travel farther because of that increased energy density and may be the range. Range go up to three, thirty or three forty with the same energy capacity. The overall point here is that better improvements are going to keep happening. Those improvements are going to open up a lot of different options for electric vehicle makers and Tesla's best positioned to capitalize on the Trent.

How to Get Sleep in Anxious Times With Dr. Donn Posner

"Don't know about you guys, but my sleep has suffered at times quite badly during the last few months. Today's guest really got me thinking about this issue in a whole new way I. he normalizes the sleep problems. Many of us are having. If you're sleeping poorly right now, he says don't freak out. It's natural and normal. Second he has a whole bunch of tips for how to deal with insomnia. Some of which I had never heard before, and I'm already starting to operationalize my own life. His name is Don. Posner he's one of the leaders in the field of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia. Titles are founder and president of sleep, well, consultants and Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine. Not only did done patiently answer all of my questions, but we also played him. Some listener voicemails from you guys. One last thing to say before we dive in here, you'll notice over the course of this week. That are episodes this week. Have a theme which we're calling primordial needs today. We're doing sleep. Wednesday it's sex, so it's fun week here on the show. Stay tuned for all of that I. IT sleep and on near here we go. Great to meet you and thanks for doing this. I appreciate it sure thing good to be here. You gave a talk recently. That got some attention. deservedly. We'll get now more attention now that we're putting you on the show about acute insomnia. Can you tell us what that means and why? You're worried about it right now especially. Let me clarify a couple of things. Let me maybe work backward. The best way to define acute insomnia is to define chronic or long term insomnia, which we in the field called insomnia disorder. And the way we define that is that a person is having trouble initiating sleep to begin with. Or they wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep. Or they wake up sort of at the end of their night and never get back to sleep, right? And so those are really three flavors of insomnia if you will beginning middle and end. We like to say chocolate, Vanilla Strawberry, and then there's neopolitan which is a mixed bag right so that's insomnia. If that is happening and we say what's problem with to sleep or staying asleep, it's if you take longer than thirty minutes to get to sleep on average if you are awake for some combination of thirty minutes in the middle of the night, or you wake more than thirty minutes earlier than your desired time. If that's happening three or more nights a week for longer than three months. And you have associated daytime symptoms, that's insomnia disorder and I want to underscore that last piece which is. Really, a twenty four hour disorder. It has to have impact on your day. For us to say that this is really an insomnia disorder problem. You have to have something like fatigue sleepiness. Concentration problems, performance, problems and so forth. So chronic insomnia is those symptoms more than three months. So now going back to your question about acute insomnia, acute insomnia is all of that. Less than three months when I give talks, and when I asked the audience how people here have ever had a bad night's sleep I know I'm going to get a laugh and one hundred percent of the hands go up. We've all had that experience. And all of that is normal nothing to concern ourselves about it, and we don't even talk about anything as diagnostic as acute insomnia until we get to at least three days. But then anywhere between three days and three months is considered acute insomnia, and that means that you're having those problems either initiating or maintaining sleep. And you may or may not have daytime symptoms yet. And it's usually due to some stressor, and we say anything from the Bio psychosocial spectrum. I now say to my trainees. You could probably open the dictionary. Put your finger down on a word and find something that causes insomnia. Whether. It's an illness physical pain a change in your environment, a psychological stress like stress at work tax time those sorts of things and I also hasten to add that. The Valence of that does not have to be negative. Right change is stressful so getting married and getting a new bed partner in your bed. Can Change Your sleep patterns. Having a child. Is a precipitate for an acute insomnia until you can get that kind of straightened away. The thought process is absolutely very much that that's a normal reaction distress. Maybe even a good one because. If we go back evolution narrowly speaking. Sleep is a dangerous activity. Right if you're asleep, you're vulnerable. It must be important for that reason because every species, does it. And so, it must provide very important function, but it's dangerous, so we always say that sleep is deferred when the lion walks into the mouth of the cave. and. Therefore, we could say that acute insomnia is adaptive. If, you understand so even now in our culture. It's adaptive in the sense that you're making changes. You're trying to deal with. Whatever's coming down the pike. But we always expect that. If you then adapt appropriately or the problem itself goes away, or you get on some medication or the stressor itself remits then we expect the acute insomnia to remit, and so all of that we consider to be normal, and it is for a smaller subset, but yet epidemic numbers that sort of gravitate into this chronic insomnia realm, which is where people like myself and my colleagues come in terms of helping people to treat that.

"All of US hyping up brats. I went all it on the browns. You went all in on. The Brown did a lot of content celebrating the BRATS. Okay and I don't feel like we were way off. We were off on Freddie. Kitchens is what I think. Oda Mangum was still a good player. Baker Mayfield is still a good player. The talent is there myles. Garrett is still a good rusher okay. They're the talent. Was there the two things we didn't we overlooked? Was Freddie Kitchens. The first time coach and the offensive line. They saw both those problems. Are they going to be a fourteen win Jim? No they're not but can they win? Ten Games eleven games absolutely. Yeah My guess would be the bus. They still need a left tackle. I think but yeah but yeah they. They brought in the best tackle available. They don't need to add any pieces on the offense. I think's interesting. I think schematically because I think Stefanski is gonNA use it in some interesting ways been overpay But I'm curious to see how factors into that offense. I talked a lot about Baker and his weird declined last year. Like how rare. It is to see quarterbacks become less accurate. There's a very unusual progression. I think you're absolutely right. A lot of that has to do with the offensive line not Just because the offense of lying contributed to his general lack of Papa. Presents doesn't mean it's the offensive line's full but putting more talented players will change that. Having a better coach will change that So I am optimistic about them. I am nervous about the Vikings. I think close But I I kind of lean browns to Did you see I think coward had? The Vikings is like the second best roster in Holland Invest Roster. No comment all right. Just Barth. She's got three questions Retain one. She's Dolphins Fan. Should we really take two or wait a year? Take to a so. I'm I'm confused. The frame of this question is is to supposed to be available at five limit. Peg Or are they gonNA straight up in this situation because I continue to believe that someone putting it. I don't think there's going to be picked up with the fifth that I think he's GonNa be picked the way that we as as a punditry and a League overrate every quarterback to the point. They all get overdraft and all of a sudden. We're supposed to believe that two of is going to be three teams who pass onto. Don't trade out from a quarterback To sell a lot in order to get the assets that leaves the door the chargers to do it for for that Panthers do whatever the Hell your time for your ten year visit so I would do I would I would do it. And as it and figure the rest out later depending on the asking for us but yeah but no one can compete with them are like people that are the chargers you pick behind. They're not going to leapfrog. The dolphins dolphins have like three thousand picks. I mean they could but they don't. I'm just saying like they can outbid whatever team I mean. Obviously I think he's good the lions the lions and the redskins both need defensive stud. Dumbo think defensive stuns to sort of kick. Start the rebuild where that's chase young jacker. Whatever they can't drop that far down or else they're gonna Rousseau's cats and so I think five makes the most sense if either two or three is open for business questions from CEO of which Tiger King character is which NFL head coach past or present. Oh I didn't see pastor president okay so eun our took this one. Okay doc into I was doing present and I had trouble Joe Exotic because there's no wild man coach right. Now I gave Documental Sean Payton. I gave Carol Baskin Global Check but I did not. I didn't I looked across the NFL. Landscape and I did not see jobs on it but now they know pastor presence Rex Ryan step right up so I went the other way. I'm going with a tyler. Perry situation where every enters play by the same person. And it's Broussard's Bruce Arians pools off. Every single character honesty divorcing the characters from their actions. Like no coach is you know is it was questionable. Murder case is going to jail or anything like that so this is this is just about who who would do the best in these situations running a zoo. Or what have you? And I feel like Bruce. Arians play every character's already to go kind of a nutty professor. Jason Kurkin was ticket few more asks. How do you think Mitch? Trubisky will handle the competition quarterback with Foale's in Chicago. Have there's done enough to be a major contender? No one I do not think there are major contender but I was thinking what he's going to let me get. Let me ask you this. How the question is how Tower the bears get ahead. Are They GonNa let Nick Foles? Start me one. Is Anyone at listen. There are no winners from shortened offseason. Or whatever but is. I feel like the bears. Get to just say like odds. He was a weird year. We can't really have a competition. Sorry S. WE'RE GONNA go with Nick. Foles they don't have to go on length and may first charade of this. Competition is open at Mitchell's bisky. You know chilled us a lot last year and were give him every chance to at least job to do that. They can just Ryan case in that anything. Just roll up on July twenty nine if we there and say up. Sorry Brad a time because yeah I can see that It's so hard to like game this out without knowing like is there any a preseason? What's the preseason it'd be like Listen a few months ago. I didn't even think they're gonNA let him compete right remake. You know bring in legitimate competition. Then I thought well it's like a Mario facility or even talked about in front of Mitch put on like TV. So the the sort of trickle of information and rhetoric ever since the trade has all been leading towards Nick foles actually getting an opportunity which is frigging fascinating and you know we heard a million times. He's got the relationship knows Nagy's offense from Kansas City. Yada Yada matters now for the reasons Kevin Talking about so we'll see now as as far as the team being a contender. I will take an L. here. I thought the bears defense would regress more than they did last year. I think they outperformed my expectations. I I always say great. Defenses Progress Right But that defense was better than I thought. Last year I think but I think some of these losing players around the margins is GonNa hurt. They don't have first round pick it just. It doesn't unless full catches fire which I don't know if you've heard of that's happened before It's going to be rough tough uphill climb for them. Yes and I. I didn't have a really good roster and I think that there's interesting it's going to be hard. I think the packers win that division. I not out the bears contending I from division I think that not for it full Chiller I think he's. He's all he needs to be. If that defense is good all needs to be is average to above average and which he's shown inability to do and I think that they can they can squeeze out names. I mean so much of that. I think it's the eight to eleven wins so much of it is just a couple of breaks and you know we'll baloch year there and they're in the mix in that zone. Take three more questions. This is from S v Tamer. Would you rather only laugh at inappropriate times or never laugh again? Ever like your body doesn't allow you to laugh. Never ever did depend what depends on one at work. You're on I mean it would be imagine no game you turn on the TV. It's around the horn. We're talking about something serious like the virus in opposite. I'm like I can't. I can't do that bad that I would choose. Never again but smile.

But in less you're rich Gannon Your joggers really hard on you and be looking to replace you. And so I think that. That's you're always in danger of being benched if you're if John Gruden's or back even if he lived and I also at even if you live next door to him he he will he just. He goes to quarterbacks as what he does at the Derek Carr fantasy owner in my dynasty league with Danny Kelly in which I want beating fantasy grow dining Dan Kelly last year. I O and Derek Carr. I really hope this doesn't happen. I said on this podcast. They believed their car was fine last season. Unfortunately I think we're kind of reaching the point where his risk aversion is a feature not a bug in isn't something that can be fixed by adding weapons. But he will give them competent quarterback play. I think I like what the raiders did in Free Agency on particular. I Mitch. I love the linebackers they added. I think Corey Hilton's one of the most underrated players in the NFL elected not subsiding But they didn't really give car much on his side of the ball.

"The lines he's not a guy that breaks lines news he's not a guy that goes to press conferences that shows up in the locker room so it was odd god that he was reporting that the lions have for the past two weeks been trying to trade Matthew Stafford and the original report said it was based on sources close to Stafford and alliance and then at some point in the day on Thursday was revised to say sources close to the alliance which means either that it was a clumsy Fang to say Stafford and alliance because that really is kind of a poorly sourced Mike are you really going to have multiple sources connected to Stafford and the lions before you go forward with a story like this in this day and age when everyone wants to be first I think you're going to get to the point where you are comfortable with it before you have multiple sources both from a player's perspective in the team's perspective the more likely reality is words just get put out there words get put out there and sometimes the sources say can you say sources close to both sides or can you say it's a source from acts when it's not and I won't do that I'll just say I'll keep it very very general league source that's the ultimate catch all that leaves no fingerprints so what I was told yesterday that it's quite possible this entire thing flowed from the B. S. the agents are spewing now in an effort to try to engineer free agency in a way that helps their clients and it's as low tech as you can get it's as low tech as you can get it's the idea that if an agent says well forget about trying to get a quarterback in free agency to Indianapolis because they're trading for Matthew Stafford if an agent says that to an agent who represents a quarterback that otherwise could be in play for the colts that that may scare that agent off so the agent who's telling the lie I can focus on getting his client to the calls it's goofy but I was told yesterday reliably that that dynamic is at play and I think at least within the lines organization is a belief that that's what happened I'm gonna go another step farther with this because it was Stafford's wife that reacted on social media and staffers wife did a sit down with that station not with smile of its but with someone who who is more actively involved in covering the lines it's entirely possible it's entirely possible that Matthew Stafford wife is the one who fuel this thing and I got handed off to Bernie smile of its so the tracks are covered and it was sore status sources close to the lines and Stafford to cover the tracks and then yesterday when it all started kinda hit the fan the reference to sources close to Stafford were removed from the story and I haven't written that aspect of it yet I've kind of peace that together since yesterday morning when I try to put the whole thing to bed move on other stories but I kind of have a feeling that there's enough chatter out there it may be Kelly Stafford is concerned rightfully so that they're gonna have the rug pulled out from under them in Detroit the winds maybe haven't done enough to try to get the staffers to realize that everything's fine everything's okay and he's not going to be traded and that that frustration that concern that understandable justifiable uncertainty manifested itself in her saying something to the person who interviewed are and then everyone coming up with a convoluted complicated way to keep dirt on the tracks to get this out there bring into a hat which is bring this to a head now so we can quit talking about and it sounds like now that's been brought to a head it's been put to bed and Matthew Stephanie being traded unless he wants out that's the other side of this get more PFT live come for you right after this your NBC sports radio what date starts now downstairs our last two NBA game before the all star break Oklahoma City one at New Orleans one twenty three one eighteen Danilo Gallinari scored twenty nine points Diane Williamson had thirty two of the laws and the Celtics beat the clippers one forty one one thirty three double overtime in Boston Jayson Tatum and Marcus smart combined for seventy points Williams at thirty five in the feed for the clippers lost Paul George to a hamstring injury in the second quarter college hoops Indiana over Iowa eighty nine seventy seven divide big green for twenty seven for the Hoosiers loop guards at thirty eight a loss Oregon a come from behind sixty eight sixty one over Colorado grabbed first place in the pac twelve Colin Kaepernick writing his autobiography he's hardly spoken to the media as the S. at unemployed the last three years in a statement.

"Every two weeks we answer questions from curious kids just like you all over the world on any topic. Yeah truly anything anything but one of the things you send us a lot of questions about is the animal world you are really curious about all the creatures that live on this planet and we think that's really cool so today we're going to answer questions about six of those creatures. LIONS CRICKET DEER PORCUPINES SIS. What what do those animals have in common? Well nothing that I know of so. Let's just get to our first question names l.. In my question to lions roar kill you can suss show my name. Olivia I'm from Montana and I five. Why do why more? Hi My name's Cli- I live in Physics Arizona and my question is why the Lions always war for answers. We turn to Paolo Bouli of Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique. Why do lion's roar lions liked liked to live in very large wild areas that are full of forests and rivers and Grasslands but alliance roars very loud and powerful and can can travel through the air for a long way at night so even though different lions might be far from each other when they will begin roaring at night all the other the lions get to know which are the lions coasts by lions are social they live in groups and so it's very important they communicate with each other and yeah no it? Everyone else is. And that's why lion's.

"On. INSTAGRAM blogging dot. The DOT boys. In your story whatever you can also tag us on facebook. There's lots of ways to get into contact but the cowboys do get the DUB on the road in the three one three thirty five five twenty seven over the Detroit. Lions back to their winning ways the cowboys six in four with their annual two games and five full days. Stretch coming up as you know. The Dallas COBB would be on the road next Sunday taking on the New England patriots. I will be there with my wife and my parents We're GONNA have to put my puppy in place for a few days. It's going to be very painful for me. I'm not very excited about that but I'll be in Boston if you're going to be there hit me up and we'll try to figure something out already talking to a few people that are planning on being in the area that game's going to be epic. Needless to say and I'm recording this at this particular moment it's about halftime. There's about a minute left in the first half between the Eagles and the Patriots so the result of that game not known at this particular moment. I said a minute going. This is like seven minutes now that I look at it but it's ten to three at this point. I'm GonNa Guess that at the Patriots come back to win. I come back down by seven points but I think the Patriots probably win this game. The cowboys are already six four. That would put the eagles at five and five on the season obviously if they win their six and four as well and it goes without saying that an eagles loss is the much more preferred outcome for the cowboys so the cow was mentioned. We'll visit the Patriots seven days from trump today and then they will host the buffalo bills on the Thursday after which is Thanksgiving. Hopefully your Thanksgiving plans are fine. Not Stressful I know that this time of year concern. Yeah well it is all fun there can be a lot goes into it with traveling and people and family and whatnot but anyway cowboys get the win. Thirty five twenty seven. I think we all thought right antiquated they will get this win. There was no Matthew Stafford for the Lions Jeff Driscoll I thought Jeff Driscoll played really well actually in a story that no one will care about in one of the Dynasty Leagues. I'm in I was in a pinch. Because I had no quarterback Russell Wilson Aaron Rodgers and I had Ryan Tannehill who I picked tap and they were all on a by. And if you've ever been in a dynasty lead you know the quarterback's aren't exactly available so had nobody available literally. Nobody on the waiver wire. I thought about picking up taste them hill bill and just hoping that he got maybe he caught a touchdown or something but not thankfully because it sucks and matthew stabbing play was able to pick up Jeff Driscoll had twenty seven and a half points from me so not bad. I'm probably going to lose them. But whatever Jeff just finished fifteen of twenty six for two hundred nine yards two passing touchdowns he did have eight carries on the ground for fifty one yards and another score. I tell you what there's a lot to like about chapter school and you know there's a lot of talk league-wide about how we're entering a phase where teams are going to be looking for quarterbacks ex- obviously you've got the Cincinnati bengals trickle started and the bears and the titans maybe even in the panthers and there's a lot of teams and so I think Jeff Driscoll guys Ugh I could be around for a little while but he was not enough on Sunday especially not enough despite getting a huge boost from both scarborough former Dallas. How's college draft? Pick fourteen carries fifty five yards and a touchdown on the ground for Bo scarbrough. In fact the three leading rushers from this game. bTV's Danny Phantom pointed this out on twitter. You're leading rusher from cowboys. Lines was Bo. SCARBROUGH with fifty five rushing yards jeff driscoll was number two with fifty one rushing yards and Ezekiel Elliott was number three with forty five rushing yards. In fact there was a running back to the cowboys. Drafted that led this game in rushing. It was just Bo. SCARBROUGH over Over Zeke Elliott Zeke. Elliot had forty five rushing yards as mentioned in this game. And what do you know that is. The fewest amount of rushing arts has ever had in a cowboys victory since being part of the team dating all the way back to twenty six. The previous low Zeke had fifty three rushing yards earlier this season in week one against the New York giants that was the fewest. He'd ever had in a win. This is obviously the new low. And what does that say obviously Dak Prescott Ball down that week one game against the giants and he did it again against the line so it says there was a lot of talk really thought it was interesting Charles Davis earlier on Sunday morning on. NFL network kind of talked about this. And then when he and Kevin Kevin Burkhardt started the game they really talked about this. How in their talks and their discussions with the cowboys? There was a lot of focus on how they were really kind of changing their identity and becoming a passing asking team etc.. And you look at those two games at least as mentioned week one from the giants the fifty. Three artem Zeke and week. Eleven against the lines. Forty five yards from the UK. Did score I think it's important into not did have a rushing touchdown obviously had the amazing receiving one. We'll get there but Dak Prescott was the star as he has been this season and a lot of people are kind of coming around to to the notion that back Prescott is is an MVP candidate and we talked about this. Had to cowboys beating the Minnesota Vikings and then obviously there would have been the lines. It'd be seven and three right now. As opposed to six and four the talk all last week would have been especially if the cowboys had scored on that last drive Where they ran on second and third into I mean Dak Prescott will be in the? MVP Conversation he is in that conversation. I think that the Russell Wilson and Lamar Jackson are well ahead of that press. It doesn't help. The Shaun Watson had a bad game on Sunday and I say doesn't help in terms of his own individual. MVP Candidacy but decks right there. I mean Data Sean. Kind of fighting for third. Not that you know you get any awards for finishing third in the MVP vote but the MVP race really. This is the time of year where it heats up no matter what you did in September and October. This is where that award is want so dak.. Prescott is at the very released in striking distance again. Four hundred forty four yards three touchdowns six carries for eighteen yards himself. I think Dak Prescott ran when it was appropriate. And you know what else to cowboys guy. I don't WanNa veer off too far from Jack. But they got some production finally at of Tony Pollard. Two carries for twelve yards. That sounds like nothing however Tony bothered in the passing forecast is forty four yards. Had his own touchdown I mentioned Zeke had the receiving touchdown. I'm sure you watch the game. Maybe you didn't maybe busy. Maybe you had to work. But ZEKE's catch low down to the ground kind of behind him. It was kind of a last second throw throw from Dak Prescott and he was able to really take it into the end zone. Did an awesome celebrations youth did where he imitated. Dax Hip movement dance wild or went viral last week on Sunday night football and I tweeted this clip out. Every time. That Zeke every time two of the three times there's e Elliott has played the Detroit lions after he has scored a touchdown. He has honored his teammates. And if you need the video to this I encourage. They'll watch it's on the blog on the boys instagram and we tweeted out. I can go look on my twitter when the cowboys beat the Lions. I think it was the day after Christmas in two thousand sixteen. Zeke had a huge fifty one yard touchdown and he did Throughout the Dez Bryant he did a coal. Beazley's sauce celebration. We put it on his on his feet and then wiped it away and then he did. Terrance Williams is like walk off sort of celebration. It was this really cool thing where he kind of honored all of his teammates and so on Sunday against the lions he scored and he did the dance. And so it's a cool little tradition. I guess every time the cowboys play the lions they have to find a way to honor. Zeke has to find a way to honor his team it so that was good. I tell you what this offencive performance I. It's hard to be disappointed by huge game from Michael Gallup amazing catch. That wasn't a touchdown. Amazing Circus Catch Michael Gallup amazing performance from Randall Cobb amazing touchdown Fernando Cobra. He took a huge shot. Drew a flag still managed to hold on make the touchdown catch. I need to go back and look at this. I I tweeted this on Randall Cobb touchdown he had a huge pickup on that drive a few catches before and he chose to cut back in bounds. As opposed post cutting out of bounds at the time cowboys only had one time out. They were inside the two minute warning of the first half I don't know just from the TV copy. I don't know what Randall Cobb saw but that could have been costly. I think it's important to know a game. The cowboys won by eight points. And I'm not just trying to pick. I mean believe me. I know that we should definitely be celebrating. There was a rough week but that could have been a very very big moment. Randall COBB had had in fact or should he have I should say have been the case that shooting on out of bounds if he had caused the cowboys time time and not been able to Hadn't been able to score but thankfully he was able to score himself rendering the whole conversation. Moot unless you're me but but yeah I mean authencity. This was a a great performance from the cowboys. Flexed a lot of muscle behind their leader. Dak Prescott However the only real merit against the cowboys and a lot of you tweeted about this? We'll get to your questions. Russians and stuff and a little bit was the slow start. I mean it hasn't been talked about all week long. It's been a thing forever. The couch start really slow. The only game this season that they haven't really we started. That slow was against Philadelphia. Eagles back on October twentieth and a lot of that was that they benefited from turnovers. They benefited from Saxon benefited from pressure. They benefited from shore fields. And all that type of fun but the Slow Start Syndrome continued in Detroit. Cowboys did not win the toss Choi today deferred cowboys on first down. Incomplete incomplete and okay cool. You're throwing on I. I like that and then on. Second Down Zeke Elliott runs and fumbles gives the lines the ball. They're able to go down and score themselves in the cowboys on their second possession come out go three and out. That's tough man. I mean this slow star thing is an issue. I don't know how you fix it. I mean it's what what's the what's the magic fix. Yeah I mean when when you bring that subject up and you say Gosh We. We need to figure out how to stop starting slow. I think the answer becomes you know well score right luck doc. Let's let's just score and maybe those are the plays and those in the moments those are the situations that are scripted like they are every NFL team. There's clearly clearly some lack of you know I don't want to say lack of connection or lack of fire but those plays are clearly not called it the same level divergency perhaps as the rest of the game because they're not working to the same degree but for what it's worth. Dad was asked about this. After the game he met with Fox's Pam Oliver Obviously obviously in the post game celebrating the win. And you know he said I mean look. I don't know how to fix this. I guarantee if we did we would fix it. But we're going to get it done. Here's Dak Prescott on the Fox. postgame talking to Pam Oliver. You wanted.

BBC news. A warm. Welcome to the conversation. The program with an all female perspective. I'm kim. Chuck Anisim each week two women from different countries come together to talk about a shed passion, profession or experience. Africa's lion. Population has been devastated. They are now less than two thousand lions and Kenya. In the US. The grizzly bear has also been reduced to a tiny remnant of the historic population. My guest today or two women who have dedicated they live turning things around. I want to know from them. What women can bring to conservation efforts? And whether it's all a losing battle shivani Bhalla founded a Wasser lions in two thousand and seven the organization works in northern Kenya. With local communities to encourage them to not kill lions, but live alongside them in two thousand fourteen shivani was awarded a Whitley fund for nature award for her passion for conservation and big cats in particular, shivani, welcome. Thank you so much Kim very happy to be here for the best part of three decades. Louisa Wilcox has been advocating for the preservation of the grizzly bear in the US who work has put her in direct. Opposition to those who believe that the bears are now thriving and they're longer need to be listed as an endangered species. She runs a website and podcast called the grizzly times. Louisa welcome. Thank you. It's great to be here Louisa and shivani for someone like me who lives in the city. Why should I care about animals like lions and bears being in decline? In remote rural parts to me. The grizzly bear is a magical and mystical animal. It is so much like us. It's smart. It has a good memory at walks on his hind legs. Like, we do at each many of the same foods. And and it nurtures it's young for many years. But more importantly, even it's the essence of the wild wild west in the United States that we've largely lost plowed under clear-cut or developed, and it reminds us of a more ancient past that was connected to nature wild nature in a way that increasingly scarce. Now, shivani what is the case for carrying? So I love what Lewis said about it being the essence of the while. It's very much the same with lions across Africa. Imagine an African savannah without lions. Imagine a savannah that is so quiet that you can't hear the roar of a lion. And that sadly is the reality for me as a Kenyan not having lions in. Kenya is something so serious. It is a symbol of our country. It is a majestic animal. It is on our coat of arms, and I really do feel. It is my responsibility ensure that lions in Kenya. Don't disappear people from all over the world. Come to see lions in Kenya. And it's a global responsibility to protect them Louisa when it comes to the conservation of powerful predators. Like lions and bays. Do you think women do things differently terms of their approach? I absolutely do think women do things fundamentally differently. There's much more of a. Sense of community of trying to develop relationships in community to problem solve to understand the root of conflicts wire bears and people having trouble in this particular landscape, where the points of intervention whereas and this is a horrible generalization. But in my experience often, the guys come in with a lot of firepower and try to solve things with a gun, and it can be over very quickly and very tragically and doesn't make the larger point that fundamentally. We don't have to kill these animals. We can coexist. She's funny. What about lions made you want to go and live in a camp in the middle of absolutely no way to monitor them and protect them. Yes. It's true. I've lived in a ten for the last seventeen years, my ten size has grown. Fortunately. In fact, I'm speaking to you from my tenth right now. And for me, it's about I've always had this obsession with the big cats. So it started off with cheetahs and then turned into lions about eleven years ago when I couldn't see cheetahs anymore. But I was seeing lions absolutely every single day. And it was then that I discovered. Wow, these lions are so different to what I remember seeing growing up going on this safaris with my parents on safari. I would see big prides of lions, but here in some boroughs, saying individual lions, solitary lions, what was happening and that really sparked my interest Louisa you spoke very eloquently about your admiration and affinity for forbears. The what caught you insult and trying to protect them. Specifically grizzly bears were very very scarce in the nineteen seventies. And I will never forget my first encounter in the mountains. I taught mountaineering for a number of years, and it was an evening. I was trying to get down to camp. I wasn't paying much attention. I was really tired and out of the dusky gloom in this small meadow. I was just barging through was this grisly bear. And it was this split second moment of locking is. And there was this intelligence wisdom. I mean it felt. Time stood still felt like and it wasn't because the bear just took off disappeared into the woods. And I just went. Oh my God. What was that? And of course, I knew they were bears. You you would see signed bet I'd never had an encounter. It didn't take very long before. I realized how scarce they really were maybe four hundred bears in the greater Yellowstone ecosystem this vast region. And then one thing led to another and finding out how how often they died. How bloody a mess we were creating. There was poaching going on a lot of unnecessary killing. And I just went we can do better. We don't have to kill these last few animals that are you know, hanging on by their by their claws. Really? And so that's what I've dedicated my life to she von is there an encounter that comes to mind with a particular animal that made you think about them differently. About twelve years ago. I got very used to seeing a lioness every day we named her Nasha pie, which means the beautiful one in the local assembler language. She was an incredible hunter a terrible mother. But then she got older things got harder for her. And I remember driving along one day and it was getting late. It was getting dark, and I saw a whole herd of cows crossing the road, and then I looked to my right and sure enough stalking. Cows was not pie this lion. As and I knew we had to stop that. Because one of the biggest problems we face it as human line conflict lions kill cows and camels, and then then you get retaliation with the lions in shot or speared. And I knew art team has got to stop these cows from being killed by Nasha pie. And we drove in between her and these cars, and it didn't stop her. She just kind of tried to walk around car, and we try to chase the cows as quickly as we could across the river. And it meant us driving inside the river and the cars was slowly slowly getting across. We actually had to get out of the car and chase her on foot. She got so frustrated with us that she disappeared into the bushes. But it really showed me how tough it was for her. She was getting old. She was alone. She was finding no natural prey the biggest problem lion's face. Here's the lack of food lack of wild pray for them. And here she was chasing the cause. But we knew we got to stop the cars from being killed because these are the livelihood to the local people if she killed a cow her future. Her security was at risk. And there were chances. She would be killed. So it's this constant battle that we're trying to address every day. So you visa this is something that must resonate with you. Because you also trying to reduce. Human bear conflict. How will you working on that? Yes. I mean, one of the first things that should be said is that grizzly bears? Don't die for the most part of natural causes they die because people kill them in one kind of conflict or another and that's even with forty years of protection under the Endangered Species Act. So we've really been working to try to alleviate conflicts. And even with that we're still killing them many argue, including myself at unsustainable rates. What are the very early areas of my work involved garbage? Because grizzly bears are smart they eat a lot of the same stuff. We do and they will get into town community residences and eat whatever refuse is left out. You know, whether it's garbage or dog food on a porch or livestock feed, and that kind of thing and nothing is rocket science in terms of coexistence with grizzly bears are or carnivores generally is commonsense preventative stuff like putting your trash inside putting your livestock. Penn at night or in a barn keeping attractiveness away from bears, and sometimes that meant developing new garbage system. So that was a big community effort because he thinks are can be expensive. So that took a lot of work and many many people in the community had to agree that they wanted to live with bears. So you had to have a level of support and tolerance and goodwill to bears enter to problem solving. And so that was a lot of my early work that has shifted in recent years to an issue that relates to climate change. We've been losing some of our native grizzly bear foods and intern bears have had to find other things to eat. So they've been getting tangled up in conflicts with cows sound a little bit like Chavannes experience too. And there's many things that cattleman can do about getting rid of carcasses. So they're not available so easily to bears electric fence around pans, more serious, fencing and bear spray is a big one. It's a kind of new technological development. It's basically hot pepper in a can that's sprayed in a cloud and gets in their eyes and nose. So in a counter situations people can spray bears and get them to leave. So do they tend to leave did attend to lead? Yes. Absolutely ninety four percent of the close encounters involving hairspray successfully deterred the bear. Okay. Small straight for those shivani. I'm just thinking in these communities that you're working in the wealth is in the livestock, and if a lion takes the families only cough. Don't they have the right to retaliate? Of course. Yes. The camels cows donkeys sheep mean everything for the postulates, it's their life. It's their Bank. And when a line comes to kill your only car camel,.

"Brad, brad. Oh, it's not. I don't think either team's going to be able to stop the other. The lions are really bad on defense. The Panthers are really bad on defense. I think this is going to be a very comical shootout. Like both teams are going to score touchdowns. And you're going to be like what the hell was that? I think that because it's a road game. I think we'll probably gonna fall flat because that's just what I I'm a negative. Nancy? I think Detroit is going to win thirty eight to thirty five New Orleans Saints Pepe game. Dislike. Two thousand fifteen and sixteen where like four games one of the teams worth thirty points. Either us of the saints something. Forty eight thirty eight or forty one thirty eight or thirty eight thirty five. And we all we traded wins and losses to split years. I've been I've been looking at the Vegas scores lately. Maybe I should do that again, no idea people pay attention to enjoy it anyway, but not gonna stop people. A lot of money because of you. I haven't I haven't made any suggestions. I just say what's on ESPN pick center thing. Yes, we you're not condoning or encouraging. You to gamble. Do. Not use us for gambling. This is not a this is not a gambling podcast. If you do have any inquiries about gambling. Please ask Brian beverage loose on Twitter, and he will give you all the information. Your team do it. Panthers. Four four point favorites. Forty nine and a half. So realistically the Panthers are touchdown favorites. Because of the lions get three. According to Vegas, panther should beat them soundly as basically what you're saying. It's yeah. So it's like twenty seven Twenty-three Panthers with the Vegas. Things are. Well, hell, yeah. Let's go Panthers. Yeah. Go pants. Jesus you just ruined it. Panthers. Short for Panthers. "We're have so familiar word but how does this moved actually help of the detroit lions as they tried to surge make a late surge in the back half of the season although line definitely have struggled when it comes to stopping the run in the last couple of weeks um they gave up two hundred rushing yards to uh the brown struggled against the again in chicago those rookie quarterback at our global and have been able to get outside of the pocket on land and get the guards and we're out way that has hurt them in the past couple of weeks and i think holding nodded going down has been part of that uh he's the key part of becky the blind so he really in that defense of wind on any help that they can get especially with the status uh onshore for this week i'm sure they'll pay tori petrie from detroit lions dot com allied steam gentle hero tune in tori kicker matt prater tremendous once more on the road in chicago on sunday is he embraced on this team more than some special teams players are around the league because undeniably prater is one of the best players on the lions roster yeah though guy matt trader i mean they now that they had a money kicker back trader here so what they really isn't it kick the he can't make he has made so many incredible on or them he oko pap that er that he then and it's his thirteenth game winning field goal in his career so the guy is is just clutch when it comes to those kinds of situations and that one was even more impressive because of the weather factor and the players and that locker room love have that they will tell you uh if you ask them any day of the week that are out there glad to have that creator.
