"On Welcome to the EMP Zonal Jamie Mars that is 15. My man Matt, Miss Lor on the ones and twos and I, As I said, going out coming back nothing but the whole truth. Isaiah Ho from Wolverines. Why? What's up by there? I always said happy New Year to you because we already did a show before afterwards. So that being said happened here? Yeah, that again. Let me ask you a question. Michigan. My card back in the fold, and there's another coach. That being said that there is coming. It's a a defensive coach. Ah, linebacker coach. I mean, what can you shed some light on that? I mean, I'll have much on it. But in Christian Taylor the ease of Georgia product, and I mean it's the same trend is kind of what we've been seeing in the sense of going after. Really young guys. This one would be I think would I don't know his exact age but would be like the youngest guy on the staff like I was playing four years ago for for Georgia, and then he kind of rose up going through. Ah, Grad assistant and then eventually coaches that places like Georgia Ole Miss in Florida and the last two years he's been in Florida, and he's done done a really good job with with the linebacking corps. This year. Maybe not. You know, it hasn't The Georgia defense wasn't quite as good. Of course, that was kind of their Achilles heel compared to their offense, But nonetheless, I mean, you can sense the trend, right, like going out and getting guys that No, their exes knows guys that are really young guys that are voracious recruiters. You look at some of the some of the players that he had that he had brought in previously. I mean, he was Well, I think 35th in the country and lettuce last recruiting cycle. So you continue to bring in guys that have that that you know, tenaciousness on the recruiting trail. And I think it's a little bit different than my cart right because my heart a lot of people have been asking me like does you know how is he is a recruiter and I said, is really you know he's really good recruiter. But it's hard to tell how much he can get us far as results when you're in a place like Indiana, right because In Indiana is not a place that's going to get a lot of four stars. They're not gonna get any five stars. That's just what Indiana is a little bit of a different story at a place like Florida. Where he's working with his mentor when he was in college in Todd Grantham being SEC school, one of the top schools in the country. He's been in that pressure cooker. So it's ah I like what Michigan's doing as far as It's AH, It's looking T O get younger. It's looking toe really connect more with not only the players but the guys on the out on the recruiting trail. S O. Christian Robinson is, uh yeah s o. It comes from Florida. He played at Georgia. Here s O. This indicates that Brian Jean Marie after one season is, uh it's not gonna be back with Michigan. I would guess there. You know, I look at the linebacking corps this year, and I liked it, you know, heading in Grown got hurt, but there it you know, he did well, and Josh Ross looks pretty good. I was wondering, you know what Jim's thinking here is he evaluates and probably, you know, a number of things not just looking at the talent how they played, but What did you think overall of the personnel that they had, and we know that my groans going pro and then some of the guys that they have coming back Well, it's It's a young group, of course, and I mean it's been it's been. It didn't look as young obviously with my grown and Josh Ross, But you figure Joshua's had a year off of football. Maccarone was only going into a second year starting and it would be his first full years starting which he didn't even get that you know all the way through that. On and then this was the first time that we finally got to see Michael Barrett on the defensive side of the ball rather than just on special teams. I thought that Ross kind of took a little bit of a step back compared to what we had seen from him when he was platooning with Devon, Gil and 2018. I thought he was a lot better than him. Just being a straight up started to seem like he was out of position kind of law as down Round woods. They kind of lost in the soup. Little bit s. So I think that assuming that he's coming back, which hey hasn't said whether he is or isn't but you know, he would be 1/5 year guy. Um That I would assume that he would Get, you know, get a little bit better, just based off of the experience, but I mean, there's a lot of guys that we haven't seen it and it seems like they recruit a lot of vipers and Sam's S O. Now that don Brown's gone, I'm curious to see how that changes right. Like how How you know what kind of scheme is brought in from Mike MacDonald. Does he go? 34? Does he do something different? You know, does he? Does he look at 1/4? You know, stay with the 43 type. Does he employ something? You know that we're not even thinking about 335443 Anything that could be a little bit different. Nonetheless, they have a lot of talent. But the good news. I think for this linebacking corps in general, is that where a lot of that talent was that Sam and Viper Now you've got a lot of those guys that can be Deployed elsewhere in this new scheme, Guys like Anthony Solomon, who we got to see a little bit of this last year, but definitely has a lot of speed. I know they were really high on Nakai Hill Green and we have to see him and Used a few times here and there or even just the Sams, which are kind of those hybrid. Defensive end linebacker types. How do they deploy David? A job? Oh, guys like him or Ben Van Super and who got his first taste it back at linebacker. So I'm I think that that's the most interesting thing And I think that you're not gonna do Really, really well, that doesn't matter like whether you're not getting getting pressure a front with the front four or not as much as the linebacking corps. I think your defense often goes as your linebacking corps goes, no matter how good that front for is, so I like that They're putting a premium on is you know if they're bringing in Christian Robinson Keep in mind like McDonald coaching linebackers at Baltimore with the Ravens, so they definitely still have that mentality of making sure those that linebacking corps is good. And I think they've got the pieces to do it. We just have to see what it ends up looking like you. Look, you're listening to Isaiah Hole from Wolverines Wire. I said when I look at, uh, I look, um Christians. Little thing here. It says he his connection with Mike McDonald. Mike McDonald was his goat at Georgia on and he was a grad assistant under Mike McDonald. When Mike McDonald left, he became. I mean, he's under that same system, so it's like they understand one another. They know what they're looking for in linebackers. I think it connects very well as you said. So the linebacking corps. Well, I'm sure Mike McDonald is looking at that. And he wants that to be the strength of his defense as well being a linebacker. I mean, coaching the linebackers himself, and he picked one of his one of his guys that he coached the coach him up. So I'm thinking that too. With Christian as Christian Robertson. That's gonna be a big one. But when you think about it, so And we're not sure what kind of defense he's going to run. But if you look at it, it could be something from a Georgia coming from that they ran down at Georgia that that made sense for them when they were down there, right. Oh, it absolutely could. And but I mean, not really know for sure, Right? For the sake of like you Look at what Christian Robinson. You know him as ah potential incoming linebackers coach. He obviously played the position, and that's where obviously Mike McDonald's coaching. But he's not a guy that played football at a college level, so I'm not really sure what we're necessarily going to see what his philosophy is..

"Appear to be a good one as they had carted him off in another blow to the Cardinals. Completed defensive front, Alan And Arizona having personnel issues even with that lengthy time out. You saw guys scrambling around in the secondary, the linebacking corps, so Cliff Kingsbury forced to call a time out. With Buffalo, looking at a third and five as Vance Joseph trying to get His personnel lined up. We talked about the Cardinals defensive line situation. Lucky folks who was placed on injured reserve yesterday. They've already last. Chandler Jones, No Jordan Phillips today. So they had to elevate one of the practice squad players Travon Coley and so coldly. They? I'm sure came into today's game, hoping that he was not going to have to see more than 10 or 15 snaps. Now he's gonna be the man the rest away. Yes, and he's already made a couple of mistakes early in the ballgame and pass rush. Blame discipline. Take this opening playing this, Dr. Josh Allen took off and picked up the first down. It was Moreau who actually missed aligned. Did not give himself a chance to be in the proper spot and keep Josh Allen in the pocket. Gets the defense. It's a five yard penalty. Arizona will not be charged with time out on the first down, Buffalo Creek Rolls said with the explanation. Markoff penalty yardage because the Cardinals because we're under two minutes had the time out due to the injury to Peter's. They event called Cell to call time out and are not allowed to do that. By the rules. So 1st and 10 now instead of 35 Alan takes his shotgun snap hangs in the pocket sets fires Far side. Beasley snares the past. It was a little bit high, makes the catch in front of Byron Murphy. And Beasley comes up with the eight posted nine yards on the catch. Clock moving 29 counting. Bill's leading a 13 to 6 shotgun snap to Alan flushed out of the pocket, scrambling to his right throws on the run near side trying to complete it to his tight in. That was Lee Smith, who was leaning the outside correction. That was Knox rather But could not keep his feet in and make the catch. So stops the clock on the incompletion with 20 seconds remaining 13 1 coming up that Joseph continues to be aggressive, brought five on that last night.

"Unbeaten second rakes Notre Dame on top of Boston College Now 17 13 with 10 24 left. Until halftime was a huge response by Notre Dame two already in the first quarter, they have turned this game back into their favorite just a short amount of time. Scoring place so far for Notre Dame, Jonathan Doors, 23 yards field goal that ended their first drive of the game. Then scar on it came back late in the 1st 10 yard touchdown pass from me and booked And then moments ago Cibo from Mr with two yard touchdown run, and that's how the fighting Irish lead the Eagles 17 to 13. We could go right now. Notre Dame was fourth ranks and unbeaten tonight They are second ranked and unbeaten after that thrilling Double overtime win at home against Clemson last weekend, and they have trailed throughout parts of this first half against Boston College. But right now lead 17 13. Travis Levi running back for Boston College back deep on his own goal line. Jonathan Door, waiting to kick off from our left two rights jogs up accelerates the dog kicks the ball off and leave. He runs up from his own four yard line across the 10 15 20 tack over the 25 yard line on the far numbers. Bo Bauer. Already with a tackle for loss for the Notre Dame defense Tonight. Nice tackle. They're on special teams. 10 19, the second filled your Covic, the form around his quarterback huddled up right now on the sideline with BC teammates. Will jog out right? He started out pretty well, but his hit a cold stretch here. He's six out of 14 79 yards and a touchdown pass to say flowers. Notre Dame If you're nor name you really happy defensively. That last drive with points in the field goal does not happen unless filled your comb. It makes a huge play on 13 15. Jacoby moving right to left ball on the far hash Travis Levi. Behind him from under center hands off him on the right side drill before he gets back to the line of scrimmage loss of one Notre Dame's front seven. Jack Kyser getting in on that plate. Kaiser now getting in the linebacking corps, really make a huge tackle right there for loss in his first play of the game proved to be Mr Reliable on that defense Back enough Shame. Simon.

"Ah, very ah, A very good wide receiver. That's ah, that's slotted to be a first round pick. Well, you don't have a speed of dactyl that's going to be able to help you. Over the top having AH, Agent Hutchinson and quitting pay guys that could get after the quarterback. Get that ball out a little bit quicker. That's gonna help you to and I don't know. You know, J like we're going to see what happens out there. I keep asking myself so I think this could be a championship T. It's too early to say that. But could this defense but the names that we've been talking about the linebackers that we know and we go over the name? They I think could put Michigan in position. I think the defense is going to lead the way we'll find out. You know what they're gonna have for. Ah Ah Bateman in the first game in a spot that that's gonna test That the defense and where they they're perceived weakness is certainly there in experience, So we get to find out right away with that, but they got the things to cover him. They've got the safety there that linebacking corps. Is a CZ. Good as it gets. You know, we're sitting here. That's not That's not trying to just pump people's tires, You know, just to get excited about the season, Rawson grown. I mean, they're the real deal and so are paying Hutchinson. So I think that Talking about a plan here is ah! Mix it up the flags of all but the players around them. That they can help with. Ah, and you just go through the names, you know that Hawkins and Hill and Aah! Rossana grown an up front payout hutches, and they cannot help. And being able Tio limit. I don't think they're just gonna put greener gray out on babe and say, Okay, well, we'll see after the game luck..

"Only quarterback was thrown for three hundred yards in three games. This season you know I, think sneaky Hembo was trying to sneak me again. I would think that Prescott but I think that's too obvious. I'M GONNA, go with Josh Allen. You're going to go to the right place Josh Allen is the right answer the optimal. Throwers sneak sneak Josh. Allen has thrown for three hundred yards in all three of his games Mahomes, Russell Wilson Dak. Justin Herbert and Joe Borough I've done it twice. So that's the way. Some of these guys are trending. Let's talk about where people are trending right now robbing inch. Let's start with Josh Allen What has impressed you post about him so. I have to say just overall arm strength and his ability to get the ball down the field. It doesn't matter if he's stepping into the throat or if there's somebody around his grabbing his legs, he's still can throw the ball six yards downfield and then on top of that I don't think I've ever seen a starting quarterback in the NFL. Actually stiff arm. A linebacker to the ground like running back or even get a flag for stiff arming somebody. So violently so he's definitely the strongest quarterback in the League born. The direction in which drew brees is trending has a lot of people concern. What do you think? Well, it's drew brees right now doesn't have the old terminator right now he's lost a lot of speed off his fastball. He's out here like Ra, dickey with the curve ball and the knuckleball and is not enough to to really move the defense. He doesn't have the receivers that's able to separate. So he's really missing Michael Tom's without that he's having with its windows and he's not being able to get that done green. We'll see if he's able to get Tom back this week finally are see trending in the wrong direction, the cowboys defense why are they so bad? The Dallas Cowboys defensive roster is the exact opposite of its offenses. There are no stars there. They aren't people stepping up and making plays looking demarcus. Lawrence, he's not worth the money being outplayed by Alden Smith you have injuries in the linebacking corps and this young secondary gist isn't making plays whether it's Trayvon digs whether it's a woozy being heard or these safeties debt. We don't even know they had to get some playmakers and they had to start bawling on you see the number on your screen, the cowboys defenses allowing over thirty two points a game this year twenty ninth and thirty two team League. Teams below them including the jets have combined record of all and ten. So.

"Just the honest. After this year. We're going to be pretty Slim at corner that we need to be looking to develop some guys Asher talked about the linebacking corps. A little bit here. I think we all know that. Neiman is not starting material for the chiefs depth chart now granted he does make plays and he is In my mind staple for for the depth of the linebacking corps but I'm with you on on Murray Or Queen Given. They fall that far and the draft. Linebacker obviously is essential piece to the puzzle. Right here for the chiefs and if they can get their right guy you know. Obviously we talked about this over and over and over again with Brett. Visas system has proven process in the draft and that holds true this season. I definitely look for the chiefs to nab up that starting linebacker. If if he is available but then also have a contention plan. You know a plan B. Just in case that doesn't happen. You know they have to look in a different direction which is something that The chiefs are fully capable of doing as well. I think that that front office looks to exercise any single route that they possibly can on every scale and scenario And you know weigh their options. So it's going to be interesting to see what the chiefs do here. In the first three rounds and how they navigate everything. And you know what players fall Within their grasps. And so it's just going to be big chess game. You know so. I Guess Chris where where we're standing right now. The chiefs are just about a week away from from the NFL draft so cheeser a week else. I the NFL draft. They brought back Shop Roelant. And now our branding and now it's time to really focus on these key pieces and you know the order of which they should be drafted and so. Chris. Let's really touch base on that right now because you had posted in your article you know about the shop. Roelant signing You know what what would be the chiefs plans in the draft? And so obviously you know the number one pick if we can maneuver this would-be linebacker and round two quarterback and we've displayed. Why those were such an integral piece to the chiefs depth chart but let's let's go a little bit deeper here. Let's test based on round three and round four and You know let's let's talk position and that we can go back and talk target players. Caso and three and four You're probably going to.

"Was there something specific? Maybe an anything that you gathered from. Mayo walk or any of these guys that you think like well that would be somebody who fits within the raider culture. Was there somebody like that? That stood out to you interesting on everybody everywhere. Receiver probably probably works. I think what's interesting about this? Part of the year is a teams aren't trying to tip their hand most of the time but at the same time. I think Mike Max kind of candor is a little bit refreshing in just in the sense that he's being very honest and saying. Hey we need a wide receiver like everybody knows every position on defense. Yes yes gonNa say to you know. He's very honest in that every position on Defense. He said we can upgrade. And that's including the spots on the outside at defensive end where you've got to promising young players in in Clean Farrell Amax crosby and we can argue about which one seems more promising after the rookie year. But I think from that standpoint you look at linebacker and obviously the linebacking corps is a bit of a mess and they need in the secondary. You did say Jonathan. Abram has a chance to be a premier player in this league. But he also said he's got to be healthy in that all indications are that Abram is about there and he's about to be cleared and we'll be able to participate not as and everything but I thought it was interesting that he said Abrahams gotTa keep his head on straight. You know after he's done you know being on and all the business ventures and everything. He's got to be completely focused. So I like Mike mayock candor and and you know how it refreshing because a lot of times that well. Let's go ahead and here a little bit from Mike. Mayock somewhere where he had to say today. Especially about the offense as we talk about talked about in the beginning here and Derek Carr. I think everybody needs to understand. At what level Derek Carr played last year okay? The Guy completed seventy percent of his passes. He had almost a three to one touchdown interception ratio. I think we're number eleven in the league in total yards. We're seventh and third down conversions. We did a lot of really good things on offense last year. The disconnect was. We didn't score a lot of points. Your eleven in yards and twenty four points. There's an issue.

"You when I talked about the struggles of the offense of line throughout training camp for a pre season obviously no Jonah Williams I guess the first thing I want to know is you go to Seattle louder stadium in the league now Michael Jordan's not the center but he is going to be in his first professional start he's played in huge environments before at Ohio state but just from from that standpoint we'll talk about the mechanics of of blocking guys like today being cloudy from that standpoint what's he going to face in his first real NFL game on Sunday well it's gonna be tough obviously that the noise is a huge factor and let's face it one things you and I have talked about is with the decrease in the you know the the bulk of pre season no two a days inn in him starter not playing as much you're not getting a lot of raps especially those wraps no offense of line the unit that requires you to to play together to play a lot so being the first game and being how loud it is it is going to be tough they're still with so many questions about this this line in being up there that vitamin is probably the worst place for a young guy to have to start and they could be playing in an empty stadium with no fans whatsoever meet meaning basically Paul Brown stadium at the end of last year and I would still worry about blocking this front and we could do this if you look across the first couple weeks of the season a lot of good defensive lines but that not many as good as the one they're gonna face on Sunday no it is good and we are too great defensive ends a just a clown in the gotten as a young self the other side and still questions of is Corey Cordy clang gonna be available as a non how much you can play so there's a lot of factors on the position group at the most question marks starting at the end of last year I don't think any of those have been near been answer I think there's been some positive things but surely the environment are going into against the opponent they're going to play is there still a lot up in the U.. I talked about linebackers as well on Tuesday and to me it's going to be a question for the entire year but I think of Russell Wilson. eating out of the pocket and now challenging a linebacker perhaps in the open field that's that's a dicey proposition if you're bangles and is still very very dicey proposition and I don't because I haven't seen enough of the linebacking corps like wow that this is brightly solidify still a lot of question marks there running quarterback guy whose it was in stings intelligence is very very widely celebrated ISC is gonna be tough for the bangles are this weekend bangles Seahawks in Seattle on Sunday the game.

"But he came back. He played great. He's absolute blast to watch. And I couldn't be happier being wrong where Colin was right. Russell Westbrook Saturday night. Listen the fan in Utah's a jerk and should have been kicked out forever. And I think fans are inappropriate all the time. But my knock on Westbrook is os. He's just too darn rigid. And he added a little tension a fourth quarter a playoff and he just implodes Saturday night. Classic example. He's going after one of the, you know, the quietest most demure classiest guys know league Klay Thompson, what are you doing? What are you doing? I mean, Klay Thompson Steph curry or buzz likable as American superstars get and it showed once again, even after the game his intensity creates tension in the building. And it's palpable. Sixteenth technical. Rescinded. Thanks. Russ were you aware that you fifteen? Of course disappointed with yourself for big enough. Question. Just he's just a lot of work. Mark where Colin was raw. I've ripped the Packers forever. The penny pinching free agent Packers to have Aaron Rodgers, and they never get him a legitimate defense. But I got a tip my cap to the Packers. I thought they did a great job in free agency. They didn't go out and spend crazy money. They went out and got defensive guys who were really good Preston. Smith. Very good linebacker from Washington. He's gonna come in and start Adrian ammos for the bears. Daria Smith, another linebacker. They went out and got three starters defensively got faster and more athletic in the linebacking corps when you get an Aaron Rodgers. That's that's a once a decade town. Right. Give him a defense. I mean, I like Tom Brady as much as anybody. But Brady for fifteen years at the end of every season. New England has a top ten defense when you can't ask Aaron Rodgers to save year after year is thirty five increasingly little brittle. I thought we had a very good off season. They got starters really good players productive guys who've been in this league. And they didn't spend a fortune. Maybe this is the most they can do, you know, my lower my standards a little, but I thought Green Bay had a really nice free agent week where Colin was right? Kevin.

"I said the other day that son has had much to do with how Andrea says evolves as his coaches have outstanding individuals to have in the room with linebackers. And when you get him in the game he's that much more of a quarterback on the field. So creates a wonderful situation us they are reminiscent of Romo and that I. I will say this though, if Sean Lee is healthy, let's just say it right now. The Cowboys have the best linebacking corps and football with Jalen Smith late in band, Russian, Sean, Lee, you cannot argue that you can argue a lot of things about the Cowboys. That is the best linebacking corps and football. If Sean Lee returns healthy that's three that's three Pro Bowl level guy. Yeah. But you think he should get the job back from Bandra? I think late and Vander h is better playing Forty-five plays fifty five having a linebacker rest, occasionally, I got no problem late Vandross having fresh legs in the fourth quarter. Nope. Rama them interesting. That's not where I thought you would go on that. It's just listen before you push us old guys out to pasture. We still got some game at us. You do you very surprisingly with this because I completely disagree lane. Vandross leave the league in solo tackles variables like they're. They're rolling right now. I don't like the idea of changing his his John Lee who's been completely unreliable physically. I'm just saying, let's not have Sean Lee moping. On the sidelines. If you have to bring him in on a big series or being on the thing, I'm not saying don't work in back in a little bit. But I'm saying you just give the spot. That's he's playing Sean lonely being to play. All right. So the elephant in the room for the Packers continues to be the relationship between Aaron Rodgers and the next head coach and yesterday and met with a quarters. Owning this ask how much input he will have on that decision. Oh, those are the citizens don't happen down the line. And right now, I'm just focused on these next four James and the direction we're going with Joe. Obviously an older player in the league. I still have a number of years on my contract. Still plays a forty and. I think there's there's an interest on who the next guy would be. But. Mark, and Brian, and I've always had. Good blinds of communication. Whoever that is is basically an implication that they're going to make the decision, and that air is not gonna be in the room for the interview that part, I can believe, but I mean, what are you talking about here like whoever is going to have to sit across from Aaron Rodgers and convince him and he's the guy. I don't think there is a perfect coach for Aaron Rodgers. And I don't think there's a perfect coach on the market. So any relationship that is formed is going to take work an Aaron has struggled in some relationships. So I don't think it's going to be easy. So we'll see how it works. There's all sorts of stories out today about I rolling and Aaron was rough on McCarthy. And so I mean, I think their relationship this, man. It's course, like it's not knock on McCarthy or Aaron Rodgers in my eyes like Aaron Rodgers is obviously not the easiest guy to work with. But he's Aaron Rodgers like you're trying to win games. You need talent. He's one of the one of the if not the most hounded so recklessly so seven or eight years we worked together. And then you do a headline heard. Line story. And I'm like this. I rolling asked if we need medical. And then afterwards, I'm gonna ask you why you're on your is talking. And if you don't have a response, and maybe it's time to do away all do a passive aggressive. Oh, nothing. It's great. It really. I love that story on croquet. It was my favorite. Okay. Now. I finally, Colin. We're calling was rights cliff Kingsbury is headed to U S C. Yeah. "So a little inconsistent there with injuries and so forth. But I think it's it's right tackle at you. Got him on Seoul. I don't think you mess with that part of the line quickly. Yes, or no. Would you pay him top five right tackle money because the market market will dictate it? You have no choice. Yes. Reluctantly though. But yes, I get it. How let's go to you. What do you think? John james. Yeah. I hate to MIR what cannot Assem in the same boat. This offense of line struggled for for many years. You finally got the book ends that you want. You got you can't let them walk. I think if he's asking for top-five money if that's what the market now, you is. You got to resign? I'm keeping James. Okay. These are going to be some of the outlier expiring contracts, and really you could probably throw one more in here. So in terms of a major decision. So let's get one more way. And from both of you guys before I'm gonna just throw one person to each of you. We're going to do Frank gore. What would you guys do with him? Are we gonna keep him? Or are we going to back? What else would he do is play football somewhere? So it can be playing with us or with the different teams. Let's start with you. Then see money. What you say bring back bring bring him back. He's a second perp EFF right behind Melvin Gordon. The second best overall running back in the NFL right now. Adam absolutely loves him. Do knows his stuff you'll be even better in his second year in the system ageless, the I think he still has a two or three more years under his public to through. It'd be pushing it, but I say obsolete. Bring them back. House. What do you think for as much as I've been banging the table thinking Kenyan Drake needs more touches? I mean, you gotta love at Franco's done center yacht here. I mean, he's the Miami guy. He's making like Lee vet minimum this this year. And he's just going out there playing some of the best football career. So I mean, whether or not that's gonna continue take touches away. From Kenyan Drake, you gotta go with the sure hand, you gotta continue let Frank or do what he does. And I think Adam gay slows him. I think he's good for the locker room. And I think he's good for the team in general. I definitely bring Frank or back. All right. Couple of minor decisions here. So I'm gonna throw these out quickly to you. Guys. Mc money are you bringing back Sam young? No. Yes. No. Yes. House way. I have. I have no idea it gosh. I I would I would say, yes. Yes. Bring amac. I mean, he's Pat will. So that does have some value in the NFL is Sam young. Okay house. You wanna bring back Steph on Anthony? Man. I'm gonna say, yeah. Bring him back. I mean, they aren't invested draft pick enemies still young linebacking corps, cadets, use a depth. I think at times you shown glimpses. I think maybe venture will become a good role player special teams. Again, linebacker depth is why bring him back so mex- financing governor of him get rid of him. Okay. Matthew two-parter here. So I'm looking at the tight end position what he wanna do with marquee..

"They completely out physical that football team and ex exactly what I saw when I watched the film yesterday of of the patriots that not only offense of -ly did the Jacksonville Jaguars impose their will defensively that defensive front seven. I'm telling you what the speed of that linebacking corps. You know, Tom Brady trying to dump it off underneath and you've got, you've got the linebackers, Jack and Smith just flying around hitting people in the lips. You know. I mean, it just is like catch YM, you know, will you think you're going to get four or five yards to your gain its second in eight now, what? And that's to me that was like glaring now, their quarterback may plays. Their receivers. Cole was freaking phenomenal. You see the one hand catch he made on the sideline. I mean, he was phenomenal that they got Austin safari Jenkins and in the red zone, big target. They didn't even have Leonard fournette and Yeldan with his long giraffe. Looking neck and body was was making big plays. He's kind of a long like DeMarco Murray kinda awkwardly tall, looking guy when he runs, but he ran hard. He ran well a mean they physically dominated that football game. So again, I was Mike, you're right. I was wrong. I am dumb. You're smart. Now we may be able to debate whether or not the road the AFC goes through Jacksonville or not, or if he still goes to New England one place, I think we could both agree. It doesn't go through is Pittsburgh more drama, more Tonio Brown home. Oh goodness. On the sideline saying, if you want to win the freaking game, throw me the freaking ball, and you got some former Steeler PR flack flack, eat flaky, takes a takes a shoddy flag. What was I trying to say? Funky funky flunky maybe a funky flunky anywhere. Flunky check that one shot and Antonio Brown saying that, hey, you know, Big Ben made you and Tonio responds by saying, hey, trade me and find out and Mark I, it's just it's something we've talked about. It seems like we talk about every single week here on this on this on the conversation that we have is just the unnecessary and unwanted drama that seems to surround the Steelers. Yeah, they just wonder, is it all? Is it all piling up to the point where it's become too much and that's why they're out to kind of start that they're often they are the days of our lives. You know? I mean, they are the soap opera of this of this league. When you take away your focus from your weekly pep preparation, go back to week one where the talk should have been going to Cleveland Cleveland coming off hard, NAS Cleveland, a more talented team. They've got better football players and they've had at any point in time. No. What will you talking about in your media session in the locker room? Lady on bell and how he wasn't there anymore. Right. And you think that carries over whether it does or it doesn't doesn't matter. The perception is you were focused on that and not on the game, and you ended up coming away with that in a tie. And now you got the, you know, the Antonio Brown stuff, and there just seems to be just the soap opera. I literally as as watching that film yesterday, my I laughed as early in that game, the offense of line missed a couple bullets pickups, they they missed on a couple of blocks in the running game guys are getting tattooed in the backfield and I go, maybe I should. I don't know, quit worrying about what on bell is doing. And maybe focus on blocking somebody's ass. You know, like a bunch of turds just disown them as offense of lemon that don't not happy at all. But again, like the fact that Mike Tomlin didn't come out week one and said, hey, dudes in a team meeting..

"Are they going to be vocal? They're going to be a man to man team. They're gonna blitz teams offensively. We think I believe that their quarterback is a better player in people give them credit, but duplicating the pound the mount of points that they scored last year because that would really help out that offense and football last year. Yes, they can score a lot of points that's gonna be able to help out the defense, but the linebacking corps and the overall roles are they going to be a lot down defense on the outside with weight Phillips defense, which I believe that that's what they should be. These are things that we're going to have to see in your number two, which on McVay I thought they were a Super Bowl contender last year and they ended up losing their first playoff game to the Atlanta Falcons. Like I understand that they didn't look great in that game. I think they are Super Bowl contender. This year and I will admit my biases here. I might be a little biased for the Rams because they put this team together this off season the way I would if I were running team. Okay, I've got this. I've got this small window where I'm paying my quarterback, nothing. So you know what you want. My first round pick for this study guide receiver you can have it and I'll pay him Todd Gurley. You're the best player on my offense. I will. I wanna keep you here long-term indomitable, sue. You might not be the greatest dude in the world, but man, we had trouble against the run. I will buy you over and you like, wait, you like way to build a manage these guys. I absolutely like wait, I think there is even if you are a prickly guy, even if you have some personality issues, it's hard to be mean to an old person, and it's hard to be mean to a offense. Wait, wait, I can say this way, no way likes that. Like he is. I mean, it's hard to be disrespectful to an old legend like, and so like age you might get like I would be a little nervous about Marcus Peterson, keep to leave. If the only voice in the room was thirty two year old Sean McVay coach, how long you been coaching the longer you've been alive, much younger. Live like swayed has a son coaching that older than Marcus Peters, like coaching in the NFL. So I think he's a key part of it, and I think listen, I think Peter's is a great player, not a good player. I think he's a great player. I think keeps Leib is still even add man. Sage, a very good player. Linebacking core is the only spot. I have a question about how many more years has Goth have where it doesn't have to his last year? No, they my guess is they would have them for two more years, very cheaply. And then it would be as fifth year option now, see you're looking at it a two year window right now with before you have to pay him and maybe less than that because sue can leak. Some of these guys are rentals like the cooks, they got long-term girly, they got long-term, let's I like the Rams a ton. I to me if Jared Goff can do placate what he did last year. That's my biggest concern. If he can do Kate what he did last year, this team absolutely can be the best team in the NFC. All right. Let's move on. Into the patriots. Now, Tom Brady, you know, that guy, he's forty one. He has five Super Bowls four Super Bowl MVP's three regular season MVP's and he's been selected to thirteen pro bowls. Other than that, the guys like ridiculously average. Also, he's scorgeous. So how is he so consistently great year in a year out, he never stops working and watching Brady this preseason patriots offense, coordinator, Josh mcdaniels said that he's seen a tremendous desire to improve at the little things, the small things in practice. And then of course, in the film room as well. See, Brady's drive the most impressive quality about him. There's a lot of things and and I can tell you late in my career, I got out -solutely board in the meetings. I go board a told, my wife receiver, coach, one day. I got mad at him and I got a little indignant..

"Led by the linebacking corps, which is number seven offense to give a rather good size edge to Miami. I think when you look at them, they got the experience quarterback experience running back salad off. That's fine. LSU does have some questions on the offense of line questions running back and Joe borough I think do well this year, but it is is first time as a starter. So I think Miami is the better team. As you mentioned coach on the hot seat Ed, ores, Ron, this right near the top of my coaches on the hot seedless this year I'm gonna call for Miami due to go in front of the hostile crowd and come out of there with the wind. And I'm gonna say by touchdown and that one not good for coach. Oh, the week. One slate wraps of on Monday in Tallahassee. Willie Taggart's debut as the Florida state head coach, Virginia Tech coming in for an ACC game on the road kind of tough off season for Justin for Wednesday's squad, but he's an excellent coach. How do you see that one going down in Tallahassee. On Monday night? Yeah. Yeah. When I talked to coach Taggart Fishburne going through the team, he's very pleased with the tail at that he inherited and remember they've got their quarterback back Indiana, jury Francois. He's the guy that missed most of last year with injury. He's back healthy and they're a completely different offense. I think when he's at the helm, so this talented, Florida state team, one that's anxious to get started or get Willie Taggart here started out well, and you touched on it. I think there's been some big time attrition on there for genie, take defense issue now, but foster might be the best defense coordinator college football, but he's got probably the youngest defense. He's put on the field. This units loaded with freshmen and sophomores. And since I wrote the magazine, they'd lost three projected starters linebacker in two Cornerbacks all gone from the team as well. This is a young, inexperienced defense going against the tagger hurry up offense, read offense, and I think that foster will mold the good defense by the end of the year. But this is too tough of a test early on. I like Florida state to win this one by a couple of show. Fill, you're upset, special. You know, I'm going to take a look at the big ten team that I think has a chance of contending with Wisconsin and the west at Iowa, but it's not a good situation for him. I would doesn't generally open up the season very well. They start out slow under coach vari- and while there are great home dog Kennex stadium is a nightmare. If you're highly ranked team, they're knocked off number two, Michigan, two years ago, Penn State media touchdown pass on the final play, the game to beat them. And of course fifty five, twenty four against Ohio State. It's completely different when I was favored at home. In fact, against the spread just twelve wins twenty two losses and one time their last four home games. Then you look at the northern Illinois matchups here, northern Illinois. He's got one of the best defense alive and you never heard of and something Smith is a first team all American last year. Fourteen six. In fact, they've got a dynamic defensive front seven, then I was missing to offense of linemen. That's not a good match up. They've got a franchise quarterback in Nathan Stanley. They need to keep him healthy. So I look for a conservative offense out of Iowa or other. No noise actually. How about a ten and a half point underdog in this game right now and win surprise me at all. If they went on the road got the winner and they beat Nebraska on the road. Last year, they beat Iowa, they'd beat northwestern all on the road. Rod Carey, tendon three isn't away dog. So I, I like northern Illinois, chances of pulling the upset here. That'd be good for the Iowa faithful. Thank you. Phil preciado. We'll be watching with you on Saturday. All right. Sounds great. Good. Good talking with everyone. Hashtag walk on 's time. Now for us to answer your questions, using the hashtag, walk on.

"Come out espn dot com has done it's looming questions for each team and in the rams case they're talking about look could they end up being like the eagles super team of twenty eleven where everyone thought all this will be the team to be and you know they've got all this talent assembled on one team do you believe key that this could be that that this could turn into one of those situations that maybe there's some holes on this team were not seeing and could be exploited as you know all teams got home i mean nobody's perfect but this team given the given the history away philipson particularly on defense his defense eunice always rank at the top period in coach mcvay being young first time here coach year go him to a playoff eleven and five beat some pretty good teams whatever is still man you gotta stop you screw up the whole rhythm when you do that took him to eleven and five had him deep deep running the playoffs they get a chance to redeem themselves with some of those teams that they lost to a year they get to play minnesota here in la they get a chance to say hey can we do what we didn't do in minnesota take care of business so as long as they take care of business i think this would be a perfect situation you always have a nasc as the first thing they say is gonna point two three additions on defense they're going to say peters is an issue they're going to say to leaves an issue say sue steps on heads they going to do that see my biggest concern nosy and key would be the inexperience within this system at linebacker right they've got some youth inexperience at linebacker that d line is straight but the linebacking corps and the secondary is is going to be really good but the middle part of that defense is i don't know if concerning but to me is the biggest question mark on the team with the line the linebackers well what happens what happens though at the linebacking core is the the.

"Yeah so again you put him with mac in that linebacking corps and i liked that they could use some work in the secondary obviously you know maybe fitzpatrick or someone like that false then they could consider that but i think roquan smith is there guy so that's my mock draft one point oh we're only doing the top when we get into five point zero i don't know if we have fire on we get there probably get to three i'd imagine you change every day well then we could say we go to the mall that we can switch it up next week l the we'll have his though vision mama grant enlisted mary o rama that wasn't be this time it was key so coming up next had the lakers found their leader we'll tell you about that in just a moment so key did on the coups train because the lakers have their leader i know that magic johnson was saying that lonzo it's going to be up in the rafters and he may be but i think zero may be up there one day to who has more value right now than a trait you know what that's a great question don't stumble that's a great question i don't know that the answer is i don't know that the answer is not i don't know i mean man who has more value lonzo lonzo may still have little but again why though will potential sensitively potential but what goes what do you think he's is potential stopped now.
