"With a thirty minute nonstop news blades on seven hundred ninety KABC trying to stretch over there. There's no stretching during the blitz. My friend Sears filed for chapter eleven bankruptcy protection. I feel like it's an end of an era. Not even Roebuck would give them a loan. They plan to shutter one hundred and forty two unprofitable stores in the hopes that it can stay in business to be truthfully honest. I thought they were already out of business. You know, it's funny. You say that because the one that's near me a panga canyon has been closed for a long time. And there's rumors that it's going to be like this dinner theater. You know theater that you can have dinner at drinks. And I wish they get going on that nonsense. But yes, I thought so too. But this is officially the last one's closed out. Would you were a kid? I believe so did you have the Sears catalog when you would be trying to come up with your list to ask Santa what you wanted for Christmas. And you could look through the catalog because there was no internet back, then right? And find out what toys you wanted. What a close you wanted whatever. And you'd circle it. And then you put it on your list for Santa. Did you do that? No. I have a feeling you did though I did I didn't want anything out of the Sears catalog. It was even tacky back then. Yeah. No, no. I just my own imagination. Okay. So does it remind you of certain like. You know, I think the Sears catalog I think of women in the Bronx section all my male friends when I was like in the seventh grade going crazy over them. That's what I think I have very good memories of the catalog as a kid coming up with my list for Santa. And when I was below the age of five or six, and I was just hanging out. I wasn't going to school or just my mom was hanging out. A five year old does washing the price is right during the day. I did that too. I do too. But she'd go shopping, and she would take me with her. Yeah. I would remember being stuck at the Sears and Mervyn's and Robinson. Did you look at it as being stock or did you enjoy it because I would've loved that some of them had like play areas. And so I would do that. Sometimes I think was there. Miller's was Miller's outpost was that one of them. I think that was one of the ones that had the play area. I don't remember if we had Miller's outpost, I think we did. Yeah. Can I remember I just couldn't wait to be out of there? I would go to the mall, and the only thing I would have any interest in was the toy store. And so that would always be the first place that we would go, absolutely. There would be a time limit as to how long we could spend in the toy store because she had things that she has got to do stuff. And I always thought Sears was unbelievably depressing. The lighting was always dim or ably. Fluorescent weird. It was never clean. There was always like closed that we're putting areas where they didn't belong every little. Yeah. You know, what I remember about Sears for me going to the downstairs where like the washing machines were in the dryers and then going to the tool area with my dad. That's what I remember about Sears. That's why it's got great memories for me in that respect. But I know what you're talking about. I went to this one a couple of times for something. I think it's one of the Kardashians closed. I went in there. We were looking at the displays. And I remember thinking really you guys are here. Like it. Just freaked me out, but it was one of their first forays into the fashion world. Well, how they'd be there? Now, how about the photography area with the cheese ball backgrounds now that I liked whatever. Whatever someone would get shot in the drive-by shooting. The news would always use a photo from Sears. Oh, God cheese ball backgrounds. Yeah. Or sometimes you'd have like that's like a prom. Whether you're together, you're behind each other. It's like a creepers behind you or the hand on the shoulder about like the hand and the ship behind never been out of the country. Those are kind of spectacularly cheesy though. Like in a really kind of awesome way makes sense. Kim Kardashian west tweet about advocating for DNA testing could possibly free. A death row. According to TMZ governor Brown's office is reviewing the case. In Cooper is grateful Kim put a spotlight on the case. She better be real careful. Because if there is one person that she advocates for that ends up being totally one hundred and ten percent guilty. Like, this guy appears to be no one is ever going to listen to her ever again. Sadly, they will though John. I know it's it's, you know, I agree. I don't know why you would pick this to be your battle. Like I twenty years ago picked. You know, got a friendship with Debra Tate. And I advocate keep the people that slaughtered her sister behind bars and her sister's baby and Steven parrot and Abigail breakout. Ski and you know, all of them that were murdered. I don't know how you pick the side of the murder. I've never understood people that advocate. I don't get it. I get that we are America. And so they are allowed to have a lawyer and still sometimes I don't understand those guys and women. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. Like pick aside, and it's pretty simple to pick the side. But listen, I'm all about if there's anyone behind bars for a crime. They didn't commit why not do DNA. But it's just weird that you know, with the evidence that's against them. He was convicted a jury founded that he was guilty. So you you don't believe the twelve people. And that's okay. But why not I don't know? What is it? I don't believe that they have found exculpatory evidence. Now, sometimes it happens and some people were wrongfully convicted. People should be let out it does happen. But the more common scenario is that people just forget what happened because it's been so long ago. But why because everyone's confused you come out and say, oh, no, no, no, no, no. This guy got the shaft. Yeah. I don't know why this is on her radar. I mean, it's just it sucks, especially when you have kids, but it's it's not like, you have cancer, and you're dying. Okay. The drugs because they're they're great grandparents set such a high bar that they could never attain what their their family members attained or is it that they have so much money. They have too much play time, and they want to do nothing but drugs now, I think that you have different personalities and different families, and drew will tell you that it's addictive personality. And sometimes it's genetic I not sometimes it is genetically say. Your DNA. So why do you think some poor people are healthy healthy healthy and some rich people are on drugs. It just I don't think it's about money. It's about you personally a black hole at somewhere you feel. You have. "And his sharper point presented by Schwartz laser eye center. Jaw-dropping so way, I've described the information that the journalists here at KTAR have reported on regarding immigration this past week. I we learned that in the border patrols Huma sector. They're on track for a doubling of the number of people crossing the border this year versus last year. Not a third more. Not fifty percent more a one hundred percent increase at least in that part of Arizona. And the crazy part is these people unlike the folks who were crossing the border for the most part ten years ago want to be caught because they're seeking asylum. There also primarily families as opposed to the single young men searching for work that we saw in the past and they're not from Mexico. They're from Guatemala seeking asylum on the news and Guatemala. They're saying that you can get a work permit. If you're a family if you're coming with your child, and that you're going to be released, and that's the director of the. Immigrations and customs enforcement field office in Phoenix in an exclusive sit down interview with KTAR's Martha Mauer Henry Lucero says that once those quantum Allah's get here. Ninety eight percent of them ended up being released while their asylum claims are being processed that's because of ISIS inability legally and practically to hold them for more than twenty days. You can see this very insightful interview in its entirety a KTAR dot com. But we have to ask ourselves if things are really changing that much of the border. Don't we need to change our policies to match I consider myself a border hawk? I think we have a right to know who's coming into our country, and that we shouldn't have wide open borders, but if it's families turning themselves in instead of young single males trying to run from the border patrol, and it's not primarily people from Mexico anymore. At least we have to have the president start saying he's gonna make Guatemala pay for the wall to problems Guatemala's much harder to fit on a homemade sign you take to a Trump rally in Guatemala has even less money than Mexico. "That we put this on the accelerator this. Wasn't a human achievement it wasn't the United Nations that did it In fact Armstrong himself in interviews talked about What flag they would plant. There was discussion of planning. The United Nations flag edit was ruled out the decision was made to plant the American flag because. Everyone knows that NASA was. That America agency it was the, American taxpayer that was funding the whole thing and it was the American people that were willing to put up with a lot of astronauts. Getting killed in, order to get it done we had tool fatal. Accidents in, the process of the, space program I don't think there's any. Way we would have the. Will to do it today first, of all people why you're spending all this money on space we should be you know let's hand up more snap cards to people let's. Get more social, welfare out there let's get more free cell phones There too many human needs. Here back at this time. We understood that there were greater achievements to expand human understanding and human accomplishment rather. Than run government for, the purpose of handing out entitlement programs the, people who don't, save enough, money in their own lives we've changed I. Thought of that but that was the. Point it was a country decision This is Eric asserting itself and as I, said it's remarkable we did it at. The, same time that they were escalating the. War in Vietnam a war we lost the CANDU. Of the space program was also occurring at the same time, as the can't do a Vietnam they did this guitar with which America streets, cities were on fire the civil rights with our riots throughout the. Late sixties but they kept pushing the space program anyway that. Wasn't a. Mankind decision or cheapen, this is a policy decision. Of the United States people It was you could easily imagine with. The, civil rights will but going on and. People are going about inequality our cities burning crime. Exploding Rock and roll music changing the way people viewed the world it was fifty. Years ago, this week they burn that the police and the, rioters in Chicago had essentially a war in the, street at the democratic convention You could certainly say. Well we need to back off of the space program we have higher priorities that's slow this thing down we didn't We did this with virtually. No contribution from, anywhere else there are a few old German scientists involved, in, the early days of the racket part of the space program other than that this is an American thing so far Gosling. To say well this is a human humankind. Achievement like most other. Great things that have occurred in the last hundred years in this world that was that it, was an American achievement so it's a lie aside. From the fact that, Armstrong, whether you like it or not dead plant the. Flag mode it's an iconic photo of that flag. Sitting there Because there's no gravity just sitting after the flag actually in the air rather than going, limp nowhere to prop it up what a picture And you know that audiences would love Seagate Hollywood cannot bring themselves to do it what a revealing story about I mentioned at the beginning of the program that that the half of the country that can't stand the rest of us This is they, wanna make money off the rest of us because they know, the people, like us I, gotta eat this movie up, but they can't give us that flag they just can't it would kill plus you. Know they want international distribution. Add how is it going to go over in the Chinese market a show the American flag propped up the whole thing Paul said I. Mean I did not read what, they gotta have it on the side. Of the capitol. Who knows I. Just, change it you know by the time, they're done with is that going to claim that this was, that this, was the French that landed on the moon Is this story not perfect in explaining how they view the popular culture I've got other.
