"That wouldn't be the case but of course you know that was very very shortly and how it's been almost twenty four years later not honestly gotten a straight answer well. He has so many times to appeal taber year where so this has been obey the year. This is going to be the year we have been told that for the last ten years you know and it's Kinda to the point where we'll you know. Is it ever going to happen. I mean now. It looks like his fortune news over He has no more pills therefore he can't try to fight anymore so as crystal. She thought she would feel better. Glenn was executed. I don't know if I'll feel better. I don't know if they'll even change me and all cause damage. I mean really his own but every year for the last twenty four years there's every year we have had to relive it. We've got interviews. I have very few I've only done one when I was younger and then in one about four years ago and then now and the one a few years ago that done it helped me so much much to actually be able to talk about it and get it out because I I deal with it very differently the older I've gotten harder. It gets you to their mother. They You know there's there's days though man you just need you I don't think you much They will be spared either. I just I just just more out of the teacher. The equation crystals heart isn't the only one that's broken. We have all the family members of all of Glen Rogers victims to you consider here and they've all been waiting for twenty four years and I cannot imagine the emotional suffering and Lord knows what other kind of suffering they've all been dealing with since Glenn at took their loved ones away and then we were contacted by the victim's advocate in Florida Florida to write letters say how this is affected the martyrs of these. How has it played a partner online these family not just the same these families need closure. There's no sense and going on by spend all all this money and see the more that had a little pair found it over with so crystal sent us the letter that she sent to the governor and a lot of details much of what she shared with us today but I'm going going to read some of the last paragraph so you can get an idea of truly how important this is to her. She said today. I'm thirty eight. It's been almost twenty four years. I still have battles in fight. Demons can describe the pain. The murder of my mother has caused but unless you lived it words couldn't honestly describe it. I've lived a life of fear heartache. Anguish always questioning second guessing people. There's always a rainbow after a storm and God bless me the good life in wonderful family. I've prayed constantly for strengthened peace. So it's time for closure. The women he murdered in the families of the murder victims deserve justice to be served. I plead and beg of you. Let's Ns us. Glen Rogers does not deserve to go on living. Even if it's in prison he's still walking talking eating drinking. He can still talk to his family. He can still smile L. and laugh and joke. He is alive and breathing while my mother lays in a casket Kohl's in the ground he's alive while a big part of US died. When he took my mother it does not deserve to have what he took away from those women he deserves far worse than what can be given to him and he will only receive that when he goes before the man upstairs upstairs please. I beg signed the execution papers we deserve closure and peace of mind and then she signed her name followed by by Remembering Always Linda Price Sandra Gallagher Teena Marie cribs and Andy Giles sudden and crystal. We commend you and support you so much on this entire journey. You've demonstrated so much strength and thank you so much for letting US share your story. So what did we learn learned today. It's relatable and scary just for a normal girl going out with friends or with other people people around like it's not like anybody put themselves in the wrong situation or were walking down a dark alley like he really just found people and I mean Linda was only in Mississippi State Fair. Linda was with her family. Andy was with her roommate. Yeah you know with three friends and Sandra joined Glenn in his friends so tarred had just called her husband. You know it's it's like you feel like you're safe but there are wolves in sheep's clothing everywhere potentially everywhere in anywhere yeah all right well big. Thank you to crystal for me. I agree thank you so much. You have so much strength for what you've been through. Its I cannot imagine and we feel very honored to share your story with all of our listener so I hope that we did it justice if anybody listening getting has a first degree connection to murder other stranger than fiction story. "Glenn in the police ruin guns trail from in Florida because Glenn had actually rented his hotel room under his real name. The police knew who they were looking for but they had no idea where he was going or what he would do next. I and if you're thinking Andy Sutton had lucked out by not being hurt by Glenn. You are right but unfortunately he went back. He wins. Louisiana a man eighty at an I spend the night with her. Then which is Florida Mattino Mattino killed her then came back to Jackson spent the night in apartment. What's dad mother then left there and went back to Louisiana where he killed eighty so driving. Tina cribs Ford Festiva Glenn headed back to Louisiana to link back up with Andy Sutton when he got there. He greeted her and told her that he had a surprise for her. He'd gotten her a car because Andy didn't have one but this sounds familiar. It's exactly athlete. Glenn did with Linda Price who loved bombing her after days of knowing her without even knowing her and it's even more twisted in this case because the car that he had brought back for Andy Belong to the woman that he'd killed days before in Tampa Tina crabs so so fucking and we are. We've seen this before are and actually we've seen this also in in fictional stuff to where a guy kills somebody takes their jewelry and then gives it to usually it's jewelry you. You know you very rarely that's at a car but this is this is super twisted because not only did he use this as his escape escape vehicle all and then he used it as a lower of with the love bomb and saying. I got you a car well because I think he saw how effectively think he actually bought what I think happened. He couldn't give Sandra's car to Linda because he set her on fire took a greyhound bus and I think he needed a car he. He said it was four Linda. Ah The effect it had on her so then he was like if I give a woman a car I kind of get whatever I want so he then use the same method fit on on Andy but had this car in like we had said previously when he had first met Andy. He left his red truck at her apartment urban complex so as to explain why he was coming back with this white car. It's again a eighteen wheeler yeah. Why would he just show but the new car. It's the gift for you. You don't have a car so he's like killing two birds with one stone making an excuse worms off and also and also winning over exactly so andy obviously actually had no idea but she was over the moon rightfully so and she glenn her roommate. Teresa decided to go out bar hopping together within a few hours. Glenn was glassy eyed and wasted. Is it again and Andy told Theresa that she was going to take Glen back their place to quote unquote sleep it off so theresa went to work and and Indian Glenn went back to their place to sleep it off. I guess after this Bar Craw. Theresa got back to their apartment at around three A. M. Glenn Red Truck. The pickup was still parked in the complex as parking lot and she walks into the apartment. The lights are all on but it didn't seem like anyone was home. So theresa sat on the couch and she ended up just passing out till the morning. She wakes up the next morning and she's looking around the apartment. She goes inside the bedroom and calls out. Andy and then she pulls the betting off the bed and what she finds horrifies. Her under the covers was the battered and bloodied body of her roommate. Andy and there was so much blood around the chest area that that and there was also a pillow covering her entire head and I couldn't tell for sure if it was andy or not she pulled the pillow off and she saw what she described as and this is a quote the most horrible agonizing facial features that she ever seen Andy's arm was back behind under head and there were also cut marks on her right wrist. There were stab wounds to Andy's abdomen upper body back shoulders torso antes mattresses waterbed and the mattress had multiple punctures and was leaking everywhere so indies cause of death was determined to be multiple stab wounds and some of which for more than six inches deep in total andy had fourteen stab wounds including numerous defensive wounds on her fingers and rest one of which penetrated penetrated down to her muscle. The murder weapon had been removed from a butcherblock knife set from there. Catch it. What terrified Theresa further other was that Glenn had killed Andy Wall Theresa had been sleeping on the couch and denso quietly so that means that she got home to insane chain saw that all the lights were on their door was shut? They shared a room and she passed it on the couch and she knows this. She knows it hadn't happened because when she woke up per person has gone Glenn had robbed the place in taking her purse wow so sh- he could have killed her while she's sleeping on the couch easily and but what he probably why he didn't is probably because he didn't think Theresa was home so when he came out he was probably shit. I I should probably just take what I can bounce bail as opposed to like risk Kerr yelling a neighbor hearing whatever but he very easily could have the Glenn of terror was now national news and Glenn was added to the FBI's ten. Most wanted list in the whole country was on edge especially every family member of his victims and terrified women across the country. We're left to wonder is Glen Rogers coming to my state next because nobody knew where he was and he'd she killed people in Multiple States California then to Mississippi then to Tampa dealing with this really yeah. You'RE NOT GENO serial killer. That's like in my t exactly it could strike anywhere anytime very bundy s yes and this man who possessed the power. ERTA charmers victims on a whim could be anywhere and arrest warrants were issued for him in Florida Mississippi and California and particularly terrifying an interesting interesting part of Glens crimes is he was leaving marks. He was using his real name wherever he went and he wanted people to know it was him he was trying to make a name for himself and they believe Hughes enjoying the killing and the fear that he was instilling across the entire country and he's like a mixture of like it's similar to what bt K. was doing. It's like he was enjoying it. He was enjoying notoriety. Ted Bundy was sort of transient in that he was popping around to avoid getting caught and then just the charming of the women it is very he was winning them over starting relationships in then would do that and then just disappear undoing the going through the idea of doing the love bombing with this car and saying I'm giving you a car and everything like that just to get them in a vulnerable situation and then killing them. I gotTa say though Jack. How many times have you been girl and I'm saying this because I have where it's like. A very handsome man walks into a bar and you're like Oh shit that guy is so my typo yeah and then you were so excited when he your his type two and you hit it off and you have another drink together and you do this whirlwind thing thing I mean that's how all my relationships have actually started me too and that when we're reading through this it is such a normal type of wait a meeting a guy and it you know the friends leave and then you're just left together and you don't ever think that you're being put in a very scary or dangerous situation not only that too. It's like for example. Andy first of all had a roommate. You know what I mean like. Glenn wasn't like I'm going to pick a woman alone. It's like I have a roommate who will come home if there was ever anything wrong. I have someone looking out for me same thing Sandra in Los Angeles she actually left to Glens friends and Glen Yeah they. He took a separate car. They were supposed to follow each other and it's like you leave with a bunch of friends. You don't you're not alone. It just seems he was an expert expert. Just making people feel safe and comfortable comfortable so as more info about Glen emerged it was revealed that he was also wanted for murder of his former roommate who was a family friend named.

"Glenn Rogers swooped into Linda Prices Life at the Mississippi State Fair and within three weeks he not only completely ruined her life but he stole it as well leaving her daughter crystal and the rest of her family shattered and left to pick up the pieces. The thing is Linda wasn't the first beautiful redhead he seduced and murdered in cold blood nor would she be the last on our last US episode. We left off at the point where the police officers in Mississippi Handling Linda's case had connected with police department. Other jurisdictions were investigating vicious. She's homicides that it's similar ammos to that of Linda's and each woman had last been seen with the cazenove killer the cross country killer the man known as Glen Rogers Linda Prices Family is left in the throes of this nightmare of losing Linda Glenis missing and there's a nationwide manhunt in hunt underway to locate him in every day that Glenn remained free safety of women across the country was at risk. We still have crystal with us today to help. Take us through the remainder of her experience. Not only was it fear from only find now that there's other victims and you know it's hard for these. He's families and empathize with these families. They're going through the same thing we're going through their living a hail like we're going room and fear of Hammy more niche films. Are they're gonNA be are. They going to catch him. They ever catch him. Where's he at it. Was it was a nightmare. It was truly a nightmare as police searched for him. They started a piece together. His movements prior to his arrival in Mississippi so although Glenn was from Hamilton Ohio he was a drifter type and often often traveled and worked traveling carnivals around the country he was a carney and in one thousand nine hundred five he was living in Los Angeles California more specifically he was living in the valley and had an apartment on Woodman Avenue and it's no surprise that as violent tendencies followed him there. Glenn beat various girlfriends he'd been involved with breath and he'd been arrested for attacking two men in Hollywood with a knife which landed him a stint in jail and although those men survived the attack at Glen Lynn would start killing women by the summer of Nineteen Ninety five glens reign of terror began on September twenty ninth nineteen ninety-five around six thirty a m a nurse at the Laura would convalescent hospital which is located on Victoria Boulevard in. La pulled up to the hospital drove car into the parking lot behind the building in the corner of the lot. She could see a pickup truck with. Colorado plates parked near some trash cans and it was by itself. There's no other cars around the driver's side door was slightly ajar and she could see an arm and elbow in part of collegue of a man who is leaning into the truck towards the passenger side as if he was reaching for something from across the vehicle the man she saw pad shaggy shoulder-length Sandy hair and was wearing jeans and a short sleeve shirt so the nurse got out of her car car and when she looked back at the truck she noticed that there was smoke billowing up from underneath the hood of the car but the blonde man was still fiddling around inside and she was sketched out understandably she ran inside and told her colleagues when a group of them came out to see what was going on in the truck the truck was completely the engulfed in flames so when firefighters arrived on the scene they discovered a body in the cab of the pickup and the smell of gasoline permeated aided the scene as well in the lower extremities of the female body inside the truck were charred down to the bone but interestingly the floor of of the carpet underneath the body was mainly intact indicating that gasoline had been poured over the body and surrounding areas of the passenger compartment as opposed to the fire air coming from the actual explosion from the engine of the car so they could tell at this point it was looking like Ersan and when the LAPD homicide detectives arrive they examined the vehicle and there discovered a ladies handbag and it contained documents and photos as well as a marriage certificate found in the pickups APPs locked metal compartment in the back of the pickup the name on the documents belong to thirty three year old Sandra Gallagher and she was a redhead. The forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy on Sandra's body described her as quote severely charred down to the muscle she had bruising or bleeding on the right and left stern avoid muscles a hemorrhage on the right side of the lower part of her voice box and on the left side of her voice box bruising to the thyroid gland broken cartilage on the left side of the throat and multiple hemorrhages inside her talk and they said he Sandra had died from being strangled to death and she had also been in sexually assaulted so once the detectives had her name they were able to quickly track down Sandra's husband and Sandra was a Santa Monica native so this was was in van is oh this was in the valley and she was from Santa Monica so it wasn't that hard to track down her sort of next of kin when they spoke to him. They learned that the last time he had spoken to his wife was the night before she called him and said that she was at a bar called MC reds in Van Nuys in that she she intended to stay there for a few more hours she was singing. Karaoke with some new friends that she had made and basically after he had received this call from her they hung up he expected her home later but she never came and when they go to Grad they speak to bartenders and employees there who helped them paint a picture of the previous evening. Sandra had been in the bar the night before for many hours made friends with some of the employees and the regulars there who learned that she recently won twelve hundred dollars in the state lottery and she was out celebrating rightfully so she was driving the Ford F one fifty pickup truck with Colorado license plates that was she was found in because she recently got the car from her father who just died who had lived in Colorado and on the night she came in. She was wearing a pair of distinctive hoop earrings. She had had gone to McBride's in the early afternoon. Started playing pool glen came in and around seven o'clock pm he had recently become a new regular showing up to the bar two or three times a week during the latter part of September of nineteen ninety five so they talked to a particular female bartender and she described Glenn as being persistent he was always asking for her number was pushy about it and if the first time she said no Glenn showed up in the grads during each of her shifts for the next three weeks seeks constantly repeatedly asking for her phone number he would buy her roses and pull out roles of hundred dollar bills and by her by drinks for her and everyone at the bar and tipper big she said Glen had been with Sandra the night before and he was wearing cowboy boots blue jeans and Brown leather belt with one of those fancy cowboy style belt buckles is bleach blonde hair was long and it was feathered and he had had a neatly trimmed beard and Mustache so paint that in your head he approached Sandra who quote brushed him off and she continued to play a pool but Glenn as he was was persistent and Sandra eventually warm to him and they started talking and Glenn and was there with a few friends eventually they all left including Sandra. She was never seen again until she was found on fire behind the hospital and the Savak Kathak reds new Glenn's name now so did the lapd they located his address and arrived at his apartment on October fifth nineteen ninety-five four days after Sandra's murders so this is the nineties. It's ninety five. It's not as instance I mean. I feel like if this had happened. Now you could be at a suspect's house the same day a or the next day with warrants and such it took four days which is pretty fast. I think considering kind of the nuances of all of this so police this believed that Glenn had killed Sandra and they wanted to arrest him but as we know he was long gone on a Greyhound bus on his way to Jackson Mississippi sippy or he'd meet Linda Price at the Mississippi State Fair three days later so we know that Glenn Killed Linda the night.

There was no sir we won't bury the windows adore nothing but we will and nobody becomes terribly alarmed remember. This is the nineties. There's no cell phones owns. You're not texting all the time. People aren't constantly in touch as they are today so nobody's you know alarm bells going off. Plans change not a big deal. Glen's truck wasn't isn't there and no one answered when she banged on the door. It was very out of character for Linda to just completely flake with no communication but I don't know you know. Maybe something unexpected had come. Homma thought maybe she was out running errands or something. We couldn't figure it out. I mean we didn't know what she was doing with. Eli Really went by there. You'll know is actually had a cousin that lived in a different apartment complex behind on her. He said he had not seen her then. I had another president lived across the way an apartment complex Besa. They had not seen her. We went by there Wednesday. We went Thursday and body. We went by there on Thursday night. We will let you all in and we will let the cop our CNN endorphin a cop migrants survey. We'll talk about that. She calls in Gotham officers to come out and he left the offer certain and we kind of stood by the door of the apartment and soon almost fair so that we'd be you there while the cop goes in and we there were from family members looking bedroom window where the blinds were opened watching watching the police officer goes through the apartment and you could say he went through the living room through the kitchen and then he came back and went through the hall and went into the master bedroom and asked where you know they were looking then because he went out and went into the guest bedroom room and then last he went into the bathroom and come out and he looks at my grandmother and he is till tell it goes and he said mom she's in there and it's bad and moral just fell apart. I mean that's crystal missile said somebody who worked maintenance allowed the police to go inside. Linda England's apartment in what they found was a brutal brutal brutal crime scene. Linda had been starved to death and her body was left in the bathtub and there was a wash cloth over her face. There were peculiar things at the scene. There was a bloody mop. The kitchen sink bloody paper towels in the garbage garbage can and blood smeared on the floor as if someone had attempted to clean it up but that abandoned the job halfway through after realizing their efforts were useless then the apartment was also described by police as being in disarray with cassette tapes beer cans and ashtrays full of cigarette butts scattered on the floor there were blood smears on the kitchen floor and garbage can that contained bloody paper paper towels as well and there was another chilling discovery at the scene so I just got back from a two week long vacation and and I hate washing my hair on vacation because it takes such a long time and I was able to let my hair go a few days because I was using living proves dry shampoo it is he's my favorite so living proof approaches the toughest beauty challenges with technology from MIT scientists so you're that you're dealing with science and not just marketing gimmicks from damage to volume two texture. "You didn't at least have to build a little bit yeah so four days later on October sixteenth. Linda rented a two bedroom apartment for her. Glenn live at the Briar cliff apartments which on the north side of town so they're going all in they're putting their chips all the center of the table. She introduces Glenn to Oliver Over family members and that includes dinner at Linda's mother's kitchen table and also getting to know her fourteen year old daughter crystal. They seem happy. Linda was in this romantic whirlwind that she felt like she deserved to be in. She'd been through a lot and now finally only after all those hardships. It seemed like everything was coming together. Real father had committed suicide. When I was a hero he was a war veteran and it had messed him up so mama dealt with a lot of issues from my father committed suicide but she never really let it show she was always there. I'm sure you've heard me talking about carnival row in the past couple of weeks but I am obsessed. Carnival row is a one hour fantasy drama series starring Orlando Bloom and and Kara de Levin and the series is set in a Victorian fantasy world filled with mythological creatures whose exotic homelands were invaded by the empires of man. They struggle to coexist with humans. They're forbidden to live love or even fly with freedom. Orlando Bloom Plays Ryshkov to fill a straight also known as Filo a police inspector investigating a string of gruesome murders threatening the uneasy peace of the row care delvin plays vignette Stone Moss a theory refugee who flees her war torn homeland homeland to come to the Burgh where she must contend not only with rampant human prejudice against her kind but with the secrets that followed her to this new land but even even in darkness hope lives and human detective and ferry rekindled their dangerous affair despite an increasingly intolerance -ociety carnival row is available now only on Amazon prime video so here's the living situation that was occurring. 'CAUSE you're probably wondering why the fourteen year old daughter in crystal also sibling why they weren't living with their mother as she's moving in with Glenn so prior to Glenn coming into the picture Linda was living with her mother and with crystal and Linda had been going through some things because she'd been through a ton of trauma so she was kind of figuring her things out and getting life back on track she meets Glenn Him with Glenn it didn't really make sense to upper crystal in move out of our room and move her in with Glen this new relationship so she stayed living with Carol who was Linda's mother in crystals grandfather and they'll lived really close to each other. They had two other cousins sentence for example where Linda was living in this area in apartment buildings in front of and behind where Linda was living cousins lived there. The MOM lived right up the street. The grandma like this was very tight wasn't like they were living on opposite sides of town Sunday night. My Grandmother had taken me to my mother's house after church rich and we were talking me and my mom had a bit of a argument I was wanting her to compete knee up and take me to school that we have around the boys anymore issues there for school me school and we saw today and we apologize for the way that and then. She told me we'll take you up in the morning from school for school and you know I'll feed in my job interview. You later love you force. Linda spent the day with her other sister. Marilyn and she came over with her husband and they spend some quality time together that day and at some point Glenn came over and the group decided to go to the sportsman's lounge on highway eighty and Jackson so on this night the thirtieth another strange thing happens there at the lounge there hang out there drinking and Glenn over. Here's Linda telling her sister Marilyn that she loved her interrupted their conversation any energy. He said don't be telling her that and Linda replied to him Glenn. I'm always telling my sister that the two sisters then went into the bathroom and Linda started crying the bathroom so this isn't cut. There's trouble in paradise. What a strange controlling trolling thing to do. What a strange thing to do yeah so Glenn Linda the appear to having one of those. It's all happening week type of things superintendents. Maybe this was part of it. maybe it was just going to flame out it was a poem home and that's it but this is what was going on their own knee. Monday night before all this happened her and my aunt Marilyn and my uncle Charles have went out to a bar drinking and clear had had gotten on the phone and made a phone call on the payphone and my mother and my aunt has went to the bathroom and my mom told my instead I need to talk to you. I can't talk to you right now. Though look out some things about Glenn and I'm scared she said I I need to come to your house tomorrow and we thought I need help figuring out something about that term. They heard banging. Hey on the bathroom door and the bathroom door slam open their screen grabbed my mother and my aunt Patriots home now and and my aunt Glenn calm down you know what's going on. He said I said take it home now. My you know I'll pay your home she. She just figured that he the gadget fitted out something. Maybe the phone calls take out though she drove him home and take it out of the car and she turns around and looks back through during this. You'll be nick okay. He's strong. He's he's just not that he maybe he gets way when he's throwing. She'd never seen him before. So the next day's Halloween in Linda told crystal that she would be there at her mother's House Crystals Grandmother's house at Carol's House to pick her up and drive her to school that morning. Tuesday morning enrolled around it was how Wayne Day and I get up. Get ready for school. I'm waiting my grandma's like well. You know your Mama's not here. You might have a few more minutes. She'll be here and I didn't mind it by criminals. You don't miss the buzz. I'M GONNA go ahead and take you to school. 'cause she. WanNa hand told me to school. We get home run smart. You know Demaim ever come out here now. I haven't seen the so even though Linda didn't show up to drive crystal school. No one really thought this was a catastrophe. It wasn't that big of a deal. There was a daily bus and and also the schools down the street carol could just easily drive crystal to school so it wasn't the end of the world. It was the nineties tech someone and say they were running late. Crystal just got to school and she figured that she was going to turn up and plus crystal was going to see her mom that night for Halloween because Linda's family was going to bring bring all the kids over to Linda complex trick or treat because obviously it was one of those places where you can hit a lot of places over and over again and a lot of lot of candy yeah and you can tell that just based on what they you said about the fair and that they have cousins living on other like all sides of each other. It's like they had a big family. There were tight knit and there was a bunch of them and they would congregate Gayton sort of every holiday celebration. WE'RE GONNA go to Linda's complex. There's a lot of you can hit a lot of house. You're going to get a lot of candy so the plan was for everybody would meet there and just make an event out of it but Linda sisters arrive to go and with our kids to trick or treat but Linda is still not there. Linda's mother comes up to the House with crystal and they could see through the window and they looked at the curtain to the shower curtain to the shower was actually pulled closed closed and four Linda's mother. This seemed odd because she thought to herself that Linda clean houses a lot and she would always leave that bathroom curtain pulled back and I think what we're talking about here. It's just like you don't leave the curtain closed because if you listen to a lot of true crime you know that like you don't don't ever want that close because there could be somebody behind there but you just leave it and I think I saw another interview with her where she describes Linda as an immaculate housekeeper where it's like. There wasn't isn't a SPEC. There wasn't anything hiding in the shower. It was spotless so she would have no problem up and get ready and go with family trickery Kaotry I had I had a nephew.

"Come up with a new financial plan by a reinitiating and taking up challenges in their relationships by making new purchases by getting rid of of old stuff and so that is part of it and they're also as it turns out more willing to help other people who are in need of transformation starts in their lives so there volunteer so how are marketers such as yourself or business people trying to use this against me as a consumer or to encourage me as a consumer and how can i as a consumer see what they're saying versus what i need yeah so that's another really good question michael so i can tell you're used to talking with academics so i do think that it is a balance so for example when i encourage you to get a fresh start i'm asking you to leave something else behind and i think you wanna be careful about whether you're leaving behind things that you shouldn't so it might encourage us for example as a country were also a country of cereal marriages we're we're we're real to say that one that one didn't work i'm just going to move on and get another one i do think we want to be careful about how much we embrace the fresh start but we also will tell you that that you know what we conducted experiments that dualist straight how use of a fresh start metaphor can actually help people get past failures and can help them overcome obstacles in their health and financial goals optimism now does it give them false optimism i guess i'm thinking in terms of a lot of religions use this drop your religion come with us yeah no i so i believe in fact that you know we're talking today and passover is very much linked to the idea of the israelites leading egypt and to easter beliefs about resurrection and rebirth and in fact we do find that it links to religion that that it's more prominent amongst people who have a belief that you can that you can pick up and leave and you can get a new and better better future at the same time i agree with you that it can lead to a false belief the question is is that a false belief that actually hurts us or is it a false belief that still is helpful tell you what i need so for example actual statistics from the us suggest it's very difficult to make a fresh start and not surprisingly people who live in racially segregated areas in areas with high unemployment had a harder time believing a fresh start can happen we give people statistics on how difficult it is different example come back from unemployment how difficult it is to get a new job and get new training then that weakens their belief that you can make a fresh start but at the same time so it's true that it is a little delusional to believe that you can make a fresh start under any circumstances but it's a delusional belief that's very adaptive so it's associated with lots of other adaptive beliefs that have been demonstrated to be very valuable cut you off so sorry i'm right up against the clock and this is one i can't pullback professor linda price you were absolutely wonderful university of oregon professor of marketing i'm michael feeny without one hour left you guys show hang around this is k g o san francisco san jose oakland i know that for sure welcome back everybody this is consumer shock on cagey else we're going to be talking about credit cards right there we're going to look at versus cash back credit card reward for millennials which is the best way to go we have thomas donaldson senior credit specialists from compare cards joining us.

"Right so what do you think happen that broke that cycle of always falling for an abuser well i guess just finding craig demand that i'm with today i didn't date anybody that was abusive after that i dated a couple of people and they were not abusive but they drank and didn't really like them or whatever and i was at that time hanging out with my sister and we were doing drugs heavily and they met craig and we worked together for about fifteen years and i had devon living with me at a time and then it was hard because i was still using so it was hard for me to get up to take him to school and do that on my own so we decided to leave devon at my parents and i would say with cry at night and i'd be at my mom's during the day and days that i didn't make it then my dad of course stepped in and he took them into school and like devin fed he made him breakfast every morning and and i was still heavily using drugs and i was bouncing back and forth between craig's house and my mom's house and when i go on a binge i go back to my mom's and stay in craig would be mad at me and but nothing nothing verbal abuse of towards me or any violence with me at all craig is a wonderful person you both have history of addiction and so you have full gone through with each other through i mean how many times did you guys try to get creamed together.
