Sebastian Welcomes Kellie-Jay Keen to the Show

"She is Kelly J Keane, Kelly J welcome back to America first. Well, I thank you so much for having me. I have a bone to pick with you. You came to the swamp and you didn't tell me. You didn't want me at your rally at the Lincoln Memorial. How dare you? How dare you come to my manner? And not invite me to your event. What brings you to America my dear? I am doing a tour called let women speak, which is exactly what it says on the tin. It's basically creating a space in which women can speak in public. The old fashioned public square because the modern public square senses everything we say. All right, is that why it didn't invite me because I'm a man man. Well, you could have come because there were plenty of trans activists trying to stop us talking, so. You would have been very, very welcome. I'm so sorry. All right, that's all right. I'm just ripping you a little bit because I'm a huge fan of yours and I can't believe you're on this side of the pond and I didn't get to see you in person. The website is standing for women dot com. First things first for those who haven't for some reason because they've been trapped under a rock or sleeping like rip van winkle who didn't see that viral video, tell us where that occurred and who you were talking about when it comes to your comment. I'm not a vet, but I know what a dog is. Well, I was actually talking to a trans activist, a woman who frequently takes her shirt off to reveal her double mastectomy scars as sort of a badge of honor. And we were in poolside watching will Thomas called who calls himself Leah Thomas race against women. So not only racing against women in sport in swimming races, but also changing with them and getting naked and no women are allowed to talk about it and I just thought I did share he's a man when he was accepting his podium chat. So I just, I was there to point out that the emperor was naked and actually had a penis.

"You guys know who any leave events is. A tremendous photographer. And her portraits of Supreme Court Justice ketanji Brown Jackson have received some mixed reactions online. Let's just put it that way. Some people, some of the tractors are now accusing leave of this. Who's the best of the best? They're accusing her of not knowing you ready? How to take pictures of black women, I mean, I don't even know where to go. This is so insane. Leave the Vince has been doing this a whole life. She's 72 years old. And last week, she tweeted two shots that she stamped of the newest member of the high court's liberal bloc, posing at the Lincoln Memorial for a Vogue magazine photo shoot. And a lot of reactions to the pictures of the first black woman on the Supreme Court were very positive. A lot of people like them. But of course, there's that vocal faction of requires who claim that Annie didn't use proper lighting. Suddenly they're the experts and she's not.

What's Under the Lincoln Memorial? Sec. Ryan Zinke Explains

"Secretary zinke, will you explain to those who have no idea what's under the Lincoln Memorial? Well, the memorial is the only memorial on the mall that has actually dug down to bedrock. And I think the placement of the Lincoln Memorial is divine. Because it sits across the river is Arlington national cemetery. And the fight for freedom and the ability for our country to reach out and have an opportunity for everyone. The Civil War is a tough period in our history, but to get to where we are today, we had to go through and fight for our freedom and fight for those that needed freedom. And across the Potomac across the memorial bridge and it leads you to Lincoln Memorial. And going underneath it, you understand the majesty and complexity of that building, but also it should be recognized that linking is facing into the mall. And there are some that would say, well, you know, general Lee. General Lee and old America was across the river, which is true. But Lincoln is now ahead of Lee. And Lincoln is facing also Martin Luther King. And they're all facing in one common direction, and that is our capital.

Sean Feucht on Saturating Washington DC in Prayer

"Us more about the prayers. The next day the white house all that kind of stuff. Yeah so this is our second year in a row doing this and one of the things we really try to do is is really saturate. The city of dc. It's a. I would call it. It's almost like a pilgrimage. For for believers you know going to the capital city of place of significance that affects every area of our life. And then going to to to to the places in that city that really need prayer so we went to the supreme court and last year we had the largest prayer meeting in ever in american history in front of the supreme court over three thousand people showed up in the rain and it was significant because it was on the eve of amy coney baron getting confirm two supreme court and actually since that prayer meeting every single religious liberties case. It's been brought against the church has been overturned in the supreme court. So that's amazing. Were undefeated since our last prayer so we gathered there on sunday morning and then we went to the white house after the after that and prayed and worshipped at the white house. Eric you're with me together. There and then we moved to the lincoln memorial and we did a prayer meeting there and then we convene for the grand finale on the national mall so we really we hit all areas of dc. We just saturate the city. I mean you could see lettuce worship dear. You know shirts and everything was everywhere. And it's just something that we really like to do. We're going to go and take over the city for a day. Fill it with prayer. Fill it with worship shift the narrative of what people think about that

Martin Luther King, Jr. Fortnite New Game: I Have a Dream Speech

"Epic games the company the developers behind fortnight have done something kind of interesting it also kind of ties into what i cover for npr. So i thought it was really interesting. It is as we pointed out in the last segment. It's the anniversary of the march on washington. And dr king's i have a dream speech and they've worked with time studios in time magazine to create this experience called march through time. Players can be teleported to what they're calling. Dc sixty three which is like this kind of a reimagined alternate universe. Washington dc built by users. And you can actually take your character and traveled to the lincoln memorial and the national mall. And here recordings of dr king. Giving the i have a dream speech. There are also like many games that you can do. Yes are you doing the usual fortnight stuff while you're there like my question. This is my question to an eye full disclosure. I have not gotten a check out this experience myself yet but a really smart gaming journalist. I follow erin ashley. Simon actually did you can find on twitter. She put up a four minute. Video of what people are doing. And yeah there's some of the emotes as they call them of people dancing and things like that but you can also hold up signs at the rally. There are collaborative experiences. That are sort of educational. There were puzzles. So yes some of the traditional fortnight stick. But there's also kind of a learning angle here too. I see people describing it as like an interactive online museum.

Why would you go out of your way to fire the black guy E got to tell you, Michael. That was the first that we were doing that same thing last night. I'm like, man, you can't Get this stuff. It's unbelievable. The absence of self awareness, you know? Yeah. Yeah, And then then to add dad like insult to injury, like the Keystone pipelines gone. That's tens of thousands of jobs like and that's during a pan dynamic. He's like you have nothing. You have nothing. Ooh, I figured out a way to make it worse. You don't even have hope. Now. I kind of remember Trump happen to go to the Supreme Court. And Justice Roberts going No, no, no, no, no. He did that for a very good reason. You had to jump through all these hoops to undo the previous administrations. Executive order. Don't you remember that? Yeah. Unbelievable. Man. You're right. But I'm Mary assault there his soul and I'm glad I'm glad. Just it. Was it really It really bums me out seriously, like all the all the Army people around, and it's funny how fast the Democrat's turn into instant Republicans You know, like walls work. We need a wall. They couldn't build a fence fast enough. I didn't think those works, but evidently they do and they want our guns, but they want to be protected by guns of their own. Yeah, I couldn't handle it. I couldn't watch it that much. And then and then I felt bad for Garth Brooks. Garth Brooks, he said. He said he performed because the country needed healing. He wanted to do it for a unity. I guess we didn't need unity in 2016. Couldn't you couldn't unify it then, Christine. Exactly exactly. Um, well, I don't know. I mean, there's been some funny means. "So we were saying that's like that's coverage you need. You need to know. I mean, I remember all the updates on what Melania was doing in our workouts. I remember that was a huge topic. They started a Dr Jill fashion blogger. Now I think you say today Good good. Biden is about to give the most important speech inaugural speech since Lincoln Healer in chief, A somber Joe Biden speaks of the Lincoln Memorial on Cove it to hell. We must remember it's hard, but that's how we heal. It's important that we do that as a nation. CNN's David Charlie, and says that the sidelights on the National Mall is reflecting pools are like extensions of Joe Biden's arms embracing America are they're long they're white. Okay, uh, let the healing begin. We have needed this in fashion Joe Biden and Kamila Harris to display their common ground. Ah, picture of pocket squares and pearls convey a stylish team's message. Can I show you the cover of Jacob in magazine? Have you seen this yet? Look at this cover. Where is it? Where is it? There it is. Jack Urban magazine has Joe Biden shirtless, which is a little disturbing Farah as Christ in the center. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and and Bill Clinton. Well, I think Barack Obama actually is God, because that's the position of God. In these paintings on Bond, Bill and Hillary are little cherubs. They have people kneeling to them. Worshiping them. It is it is. A religious movement. Now there is an air of cleansing about today from John King at CNN. There's nothing better than when people use the word cleansing now politics. It's been in a word very frequently lately, all the times. Joe Biden's love for ice cream melted our hearts. Joe Biden loves his ice cream, and we've got the pictures to prove it. That's from me Online. No, no, It's not No, really, really. That's how they covered it because I'm sure Donald Trump the guy who's importing McDonald's into the White House was no fan of ice cream. I like this one. This is John Harwood again. These air like this is like a main stream like serious journalist guy. Telling you this. He has a list that says, you know, there's there's Trump. And there's Biden basically has a format here. There's Trump. There's Biden. There's lies. There's truth. There's ignorance. There is knowledge. There's a morality. There's decency. There's cruelty. There's empathy. There's corruption. There is public service. How are these guys? Even going to fake covering Joe Biden of fairly There is the press and there is there bullcrap! Maybe I don't know how that works. Exactly. Let me give you one good story yesterday. You know they were. They were expecting the right to be violent in Washington, and we're gonna burn everything down. Now. It turns out that was antifa that was burning everything down. They did it in Seattle and in Portland, and they were pro testing. The inauguration of Joe Biden. Just want to throw that out. What were we doing yesterday? Hundreds of supporters of former President Donald Trump lined the streets in southern Florida, welcoming him to his post presidency home. Daniel rackets, 65 year old Palm Beach residents said. We just want to show him He's not alone. He did a great job and we support him. The president's, uh, limousine or his motorcade was making its way east on Southern Boulevard to Mar a Lago on as it went by, he waved to the supporters that lined the route. They were just trying to say thank you. That's what they did. It was the left. That burned buildings threw rocks injured police officers. As they protested. The inauguration. Of the savior. "Now back on election night in two thousand eight. I was sitting on the couch watching the news. My career in photojournalism at morphed into a career shooting weddings. Not because. I really wanted that because it paid money. Such is life and so there. I was sitting on that couch. Not working the most historical election night of my life. The crowd is reaching a million in grant park. The anchor said in washington. Tens of thousands of people are gathered at the white house. Some tv journalist explained breathlessly. And i couldn't take it anymore. I looked at the clock. It was eleven. I gotta go. I said to man where she replied. No i gotta go make a picture of something and so a jumped into my car and sped down a sleepy military road. And then i loved myself. Where would i find a parking spot near the white house. Isn't it funny. How logistics can be such a buzzkill aloft. Again you idiot. Forget the white house. Go to the lincoln. Martin luther king marian anderson. I have a dream. I figured there'd be thousands of people just like the white house was a ton of the twenty. Six as i walked up at tv crew was walking away. Nothing to see here. My fellow agenda said to me. Helpfully barack obama's speech from bronco was coming through the radio. My fellow citizens. I stand here today humbled by the task before us. Grateful for the trust. You've bestowed mind-mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I felt lanka wounded into a candid camera prank twenty-six very quiet people who gathered around a single transistor radio in the steady drizzle. Not even a mile from where tens of thousands of people were screaming. Their heads off. It was around midnight and was very dark in the rain was fogging things up on my camera. But i'm made some pictures because that's what we journalists do the next morning at six. Am i emailed gone you at the new york times. I think. I wrote something like election night. Lincoln memorial twenty six people in rain in the subject filled to get his attention. Five minutes later. My phone rang. i chuckled. The photo ran the size of a stamp on the op-ed page of the times. The next day better than nothing. I thought then some woman named connie email me i say some woman comically because i didn't know her at the time she has since become a dear friend but back in two thousand and eight two days. After the election of barack obama. She was just columnist. I didn't know saying she wanted to write a story about my picture and she was on deadline so i called her back and some guy named sherritt answered the phone detecting trend here. Connie really needs to talk to you but she's just getting out show. Just hang on a few moments. She'll be here so i talked to share it for five minutes chatting about the election and everything and having no idea i was talking to a united states senator email. My sister woman named connie schultz interview today connie schultz. I love her. She's on msnbc all the time you dingo and connie wrote beautiful column. Everyone was excited for me. The grainy photo of the twenty-six folks in the dark and the rain that i shot for no publication in particular was suddenly gaining traction. My neighbor republican joe crowley loved it. He asked me if he could give some to his colleagues. I made copies. Joe gave them to members of the congressional black caucus he also brought one to the white house event and gave it to the president and that photo got framed and hung outside the president's study for eight years and that's where this story should end except that in two thousand sixteen after donald trump was elected. The new president-elect was invited for white house to by president. Obama and my old friend pete souza took a photo of that man. Sizing up the president's study. Will you see in. The photo is his orange hair as he pokes his head in and his hands on the wall right next to my framed photo. Pete's picture is awesome and that's where this story ends except for today because i've been getting e mail after e mail from people who've gotten their hands on president obama's memoir and in his memoir. He says that my photograph the slightly boring one of twenty six people standing in the rain is his favorite photo from his election night. His what president obama rights. But i worry the my memories of that night night so much else has happened these past twelve years a shady by the images that i've seen the footage of our family walking across the stage the photographs the crowds and lights and magnificent backdrops as beautiful as they are. They don't always match the lived experience in fact my favorite photograph from that nice isn't a drum park toll rather it's the one i received later as a gift. The photograph the lincoln memorial taken. As i was giving my speech. It shows a small gathering of people on the stairs that's is obscured by the dot is behind them. The giant figure shining brightly. Here face craggy is is slightly downcast. They're listening to the radio. I am told quietly contemplating who we are as people. And the ark of this thing. We call

"Biden and he's delaware farewell held the national god reserves center named after his late son beau biden paid tribute to his home state. I'll always be a proud son to the state of delaware biden said who struggled to hold back tears as he delivered brief remarks. After arriving in washington biden went directly to an evening ceremony at the reflecting pool near the lincoln memorial to honor. American lives lost to covid nineteen. He was joined by vice president-elect kamala harris who spoke of the collective and wish of a nation for many months we have grieved by ourselves. Harris said tonight we grieve and begin. Healing together biden followed with his own brief remarks telling americans that to heal. We must remember as he spoke with. Four hundred lights representing the pandemic victims illuminated behind him. He faced the statue. Of abraham lincoln. The civil war president who served as more than six hundred thousand americans died. He turns to walk away at the conclusion of the vigil. He faced the black granite wall listing the fifty eight thousand. Plus americans who perished in vietnam inaugural organizers this week finished installing some two hundred thousand. Us state and territorial flags on the national mall a display to represent the american people who couldn't come to the inauguration which is restricted under the tight security and covert nineteen restrictions. It is also a reminder of all the president-elect faces as he looks to steer the nation through the pandemic with infections and deaths soaring. "Vice. President-elect led a national memorial for those who have died at the reflecting pool at the foot of the lincoln memorial today. It's astonishing to me with four hundred thousand americans dead within one year of the first case being found here that we've had no national memorial for the dead before today by biden and harris lead. Today we rather tonight a nation in mourning to pay tribute to the lives. We have lost a grandmother or grandfather. Who was our whole world apparent partner sibling or friend who we still cannot accept is no longer here and for many months. We have grieved by ourselves tonight. We grieve and begin healing together. Though we may be physically separated we. The american people are united in spirit to heal. We must remember. It's hard sometimes to remember. But that's how we heal. It's important to do that as a nation. That's why we're here today. Between sundown and dusk shine the lights in the darkness along sacred pool reflection. Remember all we lost each of those four hundred lights that lit up at that moment in the memorial service represents a thousand americans killed by the coronavirus. When those four hundred lights were lit joe biden and comma harris and the incoming first lady and second gentleman they all turned around to take it in four hundred lights to represent four hundred thousand americans. Security secretary of state and defense secretary. I got an early copy of yellen opening statement and she does plan to make a forceful for that one point nine billion dollar covert rescue package.
